Linda L. (Hunsinger) Fesler, 74, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully April 2, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 26, 1945, in Lindsborg, to George and Alta Marie (Smith) Hunsinger.

She was a 1963 graduate of Little River High School and attended Adela Hale Business College. She was a service representative for AT&amp;T for 30 years, retiring in 2002. Linda continued working part-time at Conklin Cars, Hutchinson. She had a love of gardening and was a Master Gardener. Other hobbies included bird watching, reading, collecting and new trying recipes, and shopping.

Linda regularly volunteered in the community with various organizations and regularly donated blood for the American Red Cross. Linda was a member of Union Valley Bible Church and Beta Sigma Phi.

Linda loved to tell jokes and will be missed by friends and family.

Surviving are: daughter and granddaughter, Wendy Regehr (James, Meredith, all of Eudora, daughter, Heather Howell of Overland Park; sisters, Georgene Glenn of Tonganoxie, and Sharon Glenn of Pahrump, NV; Dennis Howell, father of Wendy and Heather; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Melvin Fesler; siblings, Clair, Meredith Voth, Laurel, Joann Peckham, Kay Piper, Dallis and Karyl.

Charles R. Kinast, 88, of Hutchinson, died April 2, 2020, at his home. He was born March 3, 1932, in Hutchinson, to Albert and Louise (Guhl) Kinast.

Charles graduated from Haven High School, Kansas State University with his bachelor’s degree, and Wichita State with his master’s. He worked at PMS Foods Inc., until he retired in 1997, and part-time at Legacy Foods, until 2007. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and belonged to the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68. He was also a member of Friends of the Public Library. Charles was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

On June 4, 1954, he married Imogene Janssen, in Holyrood, KS. They shared 65 years together.

Charles is survived by: wife, Imogene Kinast, Hutchinson; daughters, Vicki (Timothy) Shook, Wichita, Pam (Randy) Johnston, and Laurie (Tim) Givan, both of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Kinast, Pretty Prairie; and sister, Marilyn Hurst, Sylvia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Virginia Woertz.

A private burial will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park, followed by a private funeral service at Elliott Mortuary.

Marlane Iris Woodard Rages, 93, died April 2, 2020, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson.&nbsp; She was born May 24, 1926, near Elmont, Kansas, to Terrol Herbert and Pansy (Chilson) Woodard.

Marlane graduated from Seaman High School and Washburn University, Topeka.&nbsp; She taught elementary grade school at Elmont and Topeka, later teaching Language Arts at Geneseo.&nbsp; After retiring, Marlane assisted her husband in the operation of Rages Crops Insurance, located in Lyons.&nbsp; She was a member of Geneseo United Methodist Church.&nbsp;

On July 4, 1948, she married Lloyd W. Rages, in Topeka.&nbsp; He died September 12, 2010, after sharing 62 years of marriage.

Marlane is survived by:&nbsp; son, Dan Rages (Janice) of Hutchinson; daughter, Becky Berry (Paul) of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp;

Bruce Keith Yaeger, 59, passed away April 2, 2020, at Hospice House.&nbsp; He was born January 31, 1961, in Dodge City, the son of Larry and Mary Jane (Britain) Yaeger.

After graduating from Dodge City High School, Bruce moved to Denver, CO, and built a successful concrete business.&nbsp; He also operated a successful business when family moved to Montrose, CO.&nbsp; Bruce then moved back to Denver and worked for the Department of Homeland Security (TSA, moving up the ranks as a very successful high-level manager.

Bruce was a great father and grandfather and role model for his children and grandchildren. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include: son, Mike (Erika, Hutchinson; daughter, Mandi Walker, Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Cloey, Derek, and Mila Yaeger, Spencer Walker; brother, Brad (Janice, Wichita; nephews, Justin and Matt Yaeger; niece, Beth Masterson; four great-nephews, and a great-niece.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.

A Hutchinson resident since 1960, she was a retired employee of USD 308-Hutchinson Public Schools, where she worked as a cook and custodian at Lincoln Elementary and Sherman Junior High School.&nbsp; Lioba was a long-time member of the Roman Catholic Church.

On January 14, 1947, she married Alvin Joseph Schmidt, in Pfeifer, KS. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1993.

Lioba was also preceded in death by: her only son, Cary Paul on March 6, 2014; her three brothers, Charles, Delmas, and Ernest Windholz; and seven sisters, Sister Margaret Louise, Lucy Hertel, Leona Tallman, Teckla Gross, Regina Mai, Edna Tope, and Georgie Leiker.

Survivors include: her three daughters and spouses, Margaret (Tony) Spellman of Hutchinson, Alice (Brian) Boyd of Hutchinson, and Dr. Carrie (Gregory) Konen of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Dane (Emily) Schmidt of Overland Park, Brooke Northern of Overland Park, Dominic (Karen) Spellman of Overland Park, Dr. Anna Boyd of Shawnee, Konrad Schmidt of Overland Park, Adam Konen of Edmond, OK, and Konnaly and Keely Schmidt, both of Hutchinson; and great-grandchildren, Stella Northern, Tobias, Evelyn, and Gabriel Spellman, and Reece Schmidt.

Laurene Reimer of Buhler, age 94, passed away April 1, 2020 at Pleasant View Home in Inman.

She was born April 24, 1925, the fifth of six children to CJ and Mary Schmidt. Her younger years were spent growing up on the family farm near Buhler. After graduating from Buhler High School, Laurene worked at Buhler Mills.

On Oct. 28, 1949, she married Joel M. Reimer of Buhler. Laurene spent her years being a dedicated homemaker and was devoted to life on the farm. She and Joel were partners on the farm for 49 years and created lifelong memories for family, extended family and friends. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1999. Laurene remained on the farm for 15 more years. She was a bright and caring person to family and friends. Her delicious cooking and baking will always be remembered and missed. Many great times were spent attending activities for children and grandchildren. K-State also held a special place, traveling to many bowl games with family.

Laurene was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church where for years she helped organize the annual noodle soup supper. She also found the time to work at the Sunshine Home in Buhler for 19 years and later volunteered at the Hutchinson Etc. Shop.

In addition to her husband, Laurene was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Robinson, her parents, three brothers Wilbur Schmidt, Edwin J. Schmidt, Marvin Schmidt and one sister Elva Kentfield.

Laurene is survived by her children; Suzanne (Monty) Wedel, Manhattan, Mike (Elize) Reimer, Tucson, Arizona, Barb Reimer, Tempe, Arizona, Sandy (Dick) Hayden, Wichita, Jeff (Maribeth) Reimer, Hutchinson, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother Harlo (Glennis) Schmidt, Buhler and many nieces and nephews.

She was born April 1, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Harnish) Hoening.

She was united in marriage to John Ressler. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Gillespie and family of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Erica Flummerfelt of Hutchinson; siblings, Bill Clouse and family of Cincinnati, OH, Connie Maxwell and family of Kansas City, MO, and Donnie Clouse and family of Hutchinson; and grandchildren, Kyler Michael Gillespie, Rickey Ryan Gillespie, Kimber Kane Gillespie, and Jorja Jean Gillespie.

Karren Kay Winters-Totten, 79, died March 31, 2020, at Diversicare of Haysville. She was born March 10, 1941, in Moran, the daughter of Edward D. and Mildred H. (Thacker) Winters.

Karren graduated from Preston High School in 1959 and attended community college in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; She worked as a CNA in several area nursing homes. Karren’s greatest joy in life came from being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by: son, Mitch Totten (Cindy, Augusta; grandchildren, Adina and Landrie Totten; brothers, Joe Neil Winters (Carlene, Glenpool, OK, Kenneth Winters (Janet, Hutchinson, Don Winters (Donita, Mountain View, AR; numerous nieces and nephews.

Karren was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Joy Jones; brothers, Alvin, Robert ‘Bud’, Gary, and Guy.

Kermit “Sam” W. Banman, 76, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away, Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Schowalter Villa. He was born December 17, 1943 in Goessel, Kansas, the son of Samuel J. andSelma (Schmidt) Banman. He was raised in Goessel and lived briefly in Denver, CO. and Inman before settling in Hesston to raise his family.

He worked in agricultural manufacturing at AGCO in Hesston for more than 40 years. Sam was a member of Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston. He enjoyed fishing, boating and helping others especially with automotive repairs. He also loved attending his grandkids’ games and performances and took great pride in seeing his boys grow and raise families of their own.

He was united in marriage to Dolores R. Klassen on August 18, 1966 in Elbing, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffrey L. (Teri) Banman, Lenexa, KS., and Christopher S.(Danielle) Banman, Stilwell, KS.; sister, Mary Ann Bartel, Alberta, CA; and six grandchildren,Erin Banman (Andrew, Nicholas (Jozie) Banman, Anna Banman, Allyssa Banman, Jacob Banman, and Joseph Banman.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and five sisters.

Gloria Ann Koehn, 86, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Pine Village. She was born February 23, 1934 in McPherson County, the daughter of Pete and Lizzie (Koehn) Nightingale.

Gloria was a member of Lone Tree Mennonite Church.

She was united in marriage to Marvin Koehn on April 7, 1959 at Lone Tree Church.

Ginny Nicole Brandenburger, 42, of Buhler, died March 29, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born July 19, 1977 in Garden City to Randy and Della (Brueggeman) Brandenburger.&nbsp;

Ginny graduated from Garden City High School in 1995 and was pursuing her bachelor’s degree through University of Phoenix. She worked as an accountant for Kroger. Ginny helped with various sports at the Hutch Rec and was a dedicated football mom for her three sons.&nbsp;

She is survived by: sons, Nicolas Green, Cody Brandenburger, and Xzavier Brandenburger, all of Buhler; parents, Randy and Della Brandenburger, Surprise, AZ; brother, Brook (Tiffany) Brandenburger, Peoria, AZ; and nieces, Emma and Josie Brandenburger, Peoria, AZ.

Ginny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emil and Alberta Brandenburger and Bob and Lena Brueggeman.&nbsp;

John Clarence Fowler, 91, of Haven, Kansas went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Mt. Hope Nursing Center. He was born June 28, 1928 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of John Clarence and Eula (Thompson) Fowler.

He served in the United States Army prior to the Korean War, enlisting as a 17 year old after high school graduation. John worked at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. for 41 years as a maintenance mechanic and assisting in the office. His coworkers nicknamed him “Big John.”&nbsp;

John was united in marriage to Edna Ruth White on May 1,1949 in Council Grove, Kansas. They enjoyed nearly 71 years of marriage.

He was a member of Haven Baptist Church where he served as deacon, usher, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America. John was a distance walker for most of his life and was an avid reader. He was an enthusiastic KU fan, who loved watching the Jayhawks play.&nbsp; He was a “gentle giant” whose faith and kindness let him be a caring husband, dad, and grandpa. John was greatly respected by all of his relatives, especially his grandkids.

John is survived by his wife, Edna, of the home. Other survivors include his three daughters, Kathy (Vic) Edwards of Hutchinson, Susan (Les) Banman of Haven, and Merri (Phillip) Reece of Haven, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, sisters, Gladys (Floyd) Dodds of South Hutchinson and Jo Shuyler of Valley Center.&nbsp;

John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irene James.

Dorothy Jane Hill-Yoder, 83, died March 27, 2020 at her home in Wichita, KS. She was born September 5, 1936 in Hutchinson, KS., the daughter of Russell and Dorothy (Finfrock) Haines. She graduated from Haven High School in 1954. Janie was a longtime Haven resident, moving to Wichita in 2002. Janie was employed at the First National Bank of Hutchinson and was a branch manager at the Salt City Federal Savings and Loan of Haven. She was also a school bus driver in Haven, retiring in 2003. Janie was a Wichita Lyons Club member. She enjoyed bowling and travel in retirement. She was also an avid Wichita State Shocker Men’s Basketball fan.

Janie married Clarence Dean Hill on October 12, 1957 in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1984. She married Omer Yoder on July 12, 2003 in Sarasota, Florida. He died on February 24, 2017.

Survivors include two daughters, Lori (Jeremy) Moats and Shelli Hill, both of Wichita, KS.; four grandchildren, Gage Hill, Ramon Moats, Ryan Moats and Liya Moats all of Wichita, KS.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas R. Haines.

On Friday, March 27, 2020, Roy Willis Nachtigal, loving husband and father of four boys, went to meet his lord after a long illness at the age of 87.

Roy was born on June 9, 1932 in Reno County Kansas to Pete and Laura (Dick) Nachtigal. After graduating from Haven High School, he attended HCC and served in the Coast Guard, then worked for KP&amp;L in Hutchinson for 38 years. On September 12, 1958 he married Ann Tuttle. His passions first and foremost were his family, while also tinkering with cars, and watching Westerns. For those who knew him, his quick wit and sense of humor will be missed the most.&nbsp;

Roy is survived by his wife Ann, sons Brad Nachtigal (wife Angie, Kelly Nachtigal, Steve Nachtigal, David Nachtigal (wife Misty, nine grandchildren, two step granddaughters, three step great grandsons.

After cremation, a small funeral service will be conveniently held at a later date at the family farm.

Mary C. Leiker, 84, of Hutchinson, died March 28, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society, Hutchinson Village. She was born September 19, 1935, in Ness City, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Schlitter) Leiker.

Mary graduated from St. Teresa Catholic High School in 1953. Her first job was at Carl Hays Drug Store. She then became the secretary for Wholesale Liquor, Billingsley Liquor, and K.D.I. After their closing, Mary was a caregiver for her family.

She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by: sister, Katie Estrella (John, Hutchinson; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born September 19, 1935, in Ness City, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Schlitter) Leiker.Mary graduated from St. Teresa Catholic High School in 1953. Her first job was at Carl Hays Drug Store. She then became the secretary for Wholesale Liquor, Billingsley Liquor, and K.D.I. Donald ‘Don’ G. Davis, 82, died March 27, 2020, at Wheaton House on the Mennonite Friendship Communities’ campus.&nbsp; He was born November 26, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Albert G. and Tina (King) Davis.

Don was a graduate of Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He retired from Eaton Corporation (Cessna) after 36 years of service as a machinist.&nbsp; Don was a lifetime member of the First Assembly of God/Hope Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp; He had a hot rod car that he enjoyed entering in car shows, fishing and riding motorcycles.&nbsp; Don built model airplanes, remote controlled boats and wooden clocks.

He is survived by:&nbsp; children, Celeste (Ed) Nicewander and Lance Davis; brother-in-law, Larry Dick; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two nephews; and numerous cousins.

Don was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; wife, Judith ‘Judy’ Davis; and sister-in-law, Joyce Dick.

Irene Joan Keeler, 83, of Hutchinson, died March 27, 2020, at her home.&nbsp; She was born December 17, 1936, in Pratt, to Willard Earl and Verna Lee (Boughner) Keller.

Irene was a 1954 graduate of Isabel High School.&nbsp; She worked as an insurance clerk for the Medical Center P.A., Hutchinson, and retired after 27 years of service.

On June 25, 1954, she married Richard L. Keeler, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 65 years of marriage.

Irene is survived by:&nbsp; husband, Richard L. Keeler of Hutchinson; children, Gary (Cindy) Keeler and Annette (Terry) Bell, all of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents; son, Randy Gene Keeler; twin daughters, Sheryl Lynn Keeler and Sonia Lee Keeler; brothers, Jim, Basil and Bill Keller; and sisters, Cleo D’Amato, Alta Corbin and June Gilpen.

Sharon Kay Hendrix, 78, of Hutchinson, died March 26, 2020, at Reflection Living, Hutchinson. She was born February 5, 1942, in Bloomfield, Nebraska, to Arthur and Cassie (Eggen) Ziegler.

Sharon graduated from Center High School in Nebraska in 1960. She ran a daycare from her home and also prepared food for the Garden City public schools. In 1974 Sharon and her husband, Larry, moved to Garden City, where they became very involved in the community. In 2006 they moved to Hutchinson to be closer to their grandchildren. Sharon’s favorite past times were watching pro basketball on TV and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.&nbsp; She also loved to cook and bake for her friends and family.

On April 10, 1965, Sharon married Larry Hendrix in Bloomfield, NE. They shared 20 years together before he died on August 1, 1985.

She is survived by: daughter, Stacy (Brian) Holmes, Hutchinson; son, Mike Hendrix, Wichita; granddaughter, Maranda Holmes, Great Bend; grandsons, Michael (Sierra, Eli, and Isaiah Holmes, all of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Taylor Finch, Hutchinson;&nbsp; great grandchildren, Zolie Holmes-Diaz, Brian and Lizzy Holmes, and Aubrey Holmes, all of Hutchinson; brother, L.A. Ziegler, Washington; brother, Jerry Ziegler, Bloomfield, NE; and sister, Ebby Ziegler, Sioux Falls, SD.

John Gould, 59, of Hutchinson, died on March 25, 2020 at his home. He was born January 24, 1961, in Colorado Springs, CO., the son of Richard Gould and Rogene Floyd.

John was a construction worker most and worked in home health care for a short time. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Jo DeBerry and a brother, Roger Gould.

He is survived by his partner, Mike Hartman; one son, Sean Tucker; sisters, Cindy Gilbert and Vickie Hartman; and one granddaughter.

There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
