Dorothy Lee Helm, 86, of Hutchinson, died August 3, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born January 16, 1934, in Turon, to Roby and Alta Marie (Patterson) Branscom.

Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Turon High School.  She enjoyed sewing, bowling, and going to the YMCA. Dorothy and her husband, Leroy, were avid travelers, even visiting various countries abroad. She was a supervisor for AT&T, retiring with over thirty-five years of service. After retirement, she worked at the Kansas State Fair Administration office.  Dorothy was a member of the Hutchinson Community College Quarterback Club, served as a board member for Bell Credit Union, and member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church. She was involved in many activities, but the greatest joy in her life was her family. Dorothy loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

On November 16, 1952, she married Leroy Walter Helm, in Turon. They shared over sixty-three years of marriage, prior to his death on June 26, 2016.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Lex Helm of Nashville, TN, Sherry Helm McManus of Lake Tahoe, NV, and Todd (Odette) Helm of Seneca, KS; grandchildren, Charity (Matt) Haga, Lexi (Chad) Dickerson, Justin (Jenny Scales) McManus, Sarah (Hadden) Hiltgen, Jesse (Ashley) Helm, and Luke Helm; great-grandchildren, Cole Haga, Riggs Haga, Piper Hiltgen, Landry Hiltgen, Griffin Hiltgen, Allie Cornelius, twins, Effie and D.J. Dickerson, and Finn McManus; sisters, Margaret Dykes and Karen Cooley; brother, Dean (Beverly) Branscom; and sister-in-law, Patsy Fors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Helm; grandson, Carter Helm; two sisters; and three brothers.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Lerado Cemetery, Langdon, with the Reverend Ronnie Dykes officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
