Allene D. Redd, 85, of Hutchinson, Kansas passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, at her home. She was born January 13, 1935 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Howard and Allene (Field) Duncan.

She was a title clerk for the Reno County Title Company, and later worked for the Reno County Courthouse in the Register of Deeds office.

She loved to do puzzles, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, traveling and genealogy.

Allene was united in marriage to Jerry L. Redd on May 4, 1956 in South Hutchinson. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her three daughters, Patricia Strait and Tammy (Richard) Brown, both of Hutchinson, and Cindy (Brian) Dees of Burrton; nine grandchildren, James (Jill) Brown, April (Gary) Wisecarver, Malissa Pettay, Holly Womack, Jessica Soden, Krysta Woelk, Brittany Fistler, Paige Brown and Ben (Ashley) Dees; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Geddes of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Glenda Lighty of Hugoton; and brother-in-law, William Redd of South Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert L. Redd; great-granddaughter, Emercynn Fistler; brother, LeRoy Dunan; sisters-in-law, Mary Branson, Marlene Gordon, and Melvene Duncan; and brothers-in-law, Dayul Redd, James Gordon and Earl Geddes.

Fern Lucille Ensz, 83, passed away on December 14, 2020 at Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, Kansas. She was born September 14, 1937, at Copeland, Kansas to William B. and Katherine (Schmidt) Koehn.&nbsp;

She was a homemaker. Fern was a long-time resident of Surprise, Arizona, residing at Bethesda Home of Goessel, KS. and Moundridge Manor in her later years. Fern was a member of Lone Tree Mennonite Church, Galva, KS., as well as a former member of Sun Valley Mennonite Church in El Mirage, Arizona.

Fern married Ervin T. Ensz on December 28, 1958 at Montezuma, Kansas. He passed away April 10, 2014.

She is survived by four sons, Bruce (Dorothy) Ensz of El Mirage, Arizona, Ron (Karen) Ensz of Chester, Iowa, Wes (Connie) Ensz and Clark Ensz, all of El Mirage, AZ.; daughter, Raquel (Pat) Johnson of Galva, KS; brother Jake (Illa) Koehn, Victoria, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and close family friend, Diva Withers, Copeland KS.

In addition to her husband, Fern was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Craig Ensz; brothers Curtis Koehn, Allen Koehn and Junior Koehn; sisters, Evelyn Koehn, Lena Jantzen, Ruth Kehn and Carrie Penner.

Winona Maye Goering, 94, died Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born May 26, 1926, at Pretty Prairie, to Frank and Loretta Elinor "Lora" (Dickerson) Hendrixson.

She was a 1944 graduate of Pretty Prairie High School and member of Arlington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Unit #68.

On October 18, 1947, she married Lee Eugene “Bob” Goering in Chanute. Winona’s husband of 66 years, died January 14, 2014.

Surviving are children, Vicki Bainum and husband Rex of Hutchinson, and Steve Goering and wife Debbie of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Linda Hendrixson of Pretty Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Kerry Bainum and Tina Rose, Lisa Sanz and husband Jonas, Tarissa Fears and husband Robert, and Ashley Palmer and husband Cody; 6 great-grandchildren, Blake Bainum, Abigail, Caleb and Isaac Sanz, Alyssa Fears, and Breckin Palmer.

Raymond “Ray” H. Mora, 80, of Hutchinson, died December 13, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 3, 1940, in Hutchinson, to Theodore and Josephine (Garcia) Mora.

Ray graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. He was an Inspection supervisor and union leader for Kansas Gas Services. Ray loved to collect baseball cards, coached softball, and baseball. He volunteered at Hospice House of Reno County and was an active member of The Church of the Holy Cross. &nbsp;He was a strong man of Faith and Family and he has touched many people lives throughout this life and that will never be forgotten.

On August 11, 1962, Ray married Judy Ann Powell in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years together before she passed away on January 14, 2015.

Elma graduated from Augusta High School, Augusta, IL, in 1936. In 1939, she moved to Hutchinson. Elma was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and Altar Society, Hutchinson, and past member of the Loyal Star.

On July 17, 1940, Elma married George Thompson, in Lyons. They shared over 56 years of marriage, prior to his death on November 2, 1996.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Jackie) Thompson of Hutchinson, Mike (Denise) Thompson of Caldwell, ID, Pat (Patty) Thompson of Salina, Sharon Tinsley of Hutchinson, Lynne Miller of Hutchinson, and Raelene Brewer of Hutchinson; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nonia Gilbert; and special friend, Jane Miller.

Elma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Goldie Haskins, Elsie Akins, Opal Meredith, Edith Young, Ruby Brown, and Edmund Ketchum; and son-in-law, William Miller.

Elinor “Ellie” Faubion Nestler, 87, died December 9, 2020, at Wesley Towers, Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, KS. She was born on March 3, 1933, in Kansas City, MO to Raymond and Francis (Haseltine) Faubion.

Ellie graduated from Atchison High School in 1951, and Kansas State College in 1955, with a degree in Home Economics and Journalism. While in college, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Shortly after graduating from college, she married her high school and college sweetheart, Carl Nestler, on June 12, 1955. They shared 63 years of marriage, before his death on February 1, 2019.

Elinor and Carl spent 22 years traveling the U.S., Europe, and Asia, while Carl was an officer in the U.S. Army. After Carl retired, the family moved to Hutchinson in 1977. Ellie spent most of her time as a homemaker, raising her boys, Greg and Dave, and took advantage of being a military housewife to travel Europe and Asia, building an extensive collection of knickknacks and collectibles.

While in Hutchinson, she was active in PEO Chapter EK, and worked many years at the Kansas State Fair in the information booth, as well as volunteering in the Hutchinson Hospital Gift Shop. Ellie was an accomplished counted cross-stitcher, having won several blue ribbons at the Kansas State Fair. Ellie also enjoyed searching garage sales and flea markets for the next great treasure and enjoyed collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and collectibles. Over the years, Ellie built up one of the larger Raggedy Ann and Andy collections in the Midwest and was affectionately known by her Raggedy friends as “Raggedy Ellie”.

Ellie is survived by: her sister, Jane Eriksen of Hutchinson; son, Greg Nestler (Lisa) of Prairie Village, KS; and son, Dave Nestler (Julie) of Salem, SC; grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer (Dave’s children), and Matthew and Sara (Greg’s children); and nieces and nephews, Ray Sprinkle (Kim); Mike Sprinkle (Colleen), Steve Sprinkle (Leslie), Jeff Eriksen (Marla), and Jana Voth (Ned).

She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; sister, Jean Sprinkle; and brothers-in-law, Chuck Sprinkle and John Eriksen.

She was born on March 3, 1933, in Kansas City, MO to Raymond and Francis (Haseltine) Faubion.Ellie graduated from Atchison High School in 1951, and Kansas State College in 1955, with a degree in Home Economics and Journalism. While in college, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Shortly after graduating from college, she married her high school and college sweetheart, Carl Nestler, on June 12, 1955. They shared 63 years of marriage, before his death on February 1, 2019.Elinor and Carl spent 22 years traveling the U.S., Europe, and Asia, while Carl was an officer in the U.S. Army. After Carl retired, the family moved to Hutchinson in 1977. Ellie spent most of her time as a homemaker, raising her boys, Greg and Dave, and took advantage of being a military housewife to travel Europe and Asia, building an extensive collection of knickknacks and collectibles.While in Hutchinson, she was active in PEO Chapter EK, and worked many years at the Kansas State Fair in the information booth, as well as volunteering in the Hutchinson Hospital Gift Shop. Ruth Evelyn Huffman, 98, of Hutchinson, died December 11, 2020, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born May 24, 1922, in McKracken, to James and Ina (Fitzgerald) Brenner.

Ruth graduated from LaCrosse High School followed by Salt City Business College. She worked for Koeppen Electric and the City of Hutchinson as a secretary and treasurer. Ruth belonged to the Altar Society at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, where she was a member.

On October 9, 1943, she married Herman Koeppen, in Russell. He passed away on January 22, 1964. On March 3, 1978, Ruth was married to Verling Huffman, in Hutchinson. He passed away on August 15, 2007.

She is survived by: sons, Norman Koeppen (Pat), Canon City, CO, and Donald Koeppen, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Herman Koeppen and Verling Huffman; brother, Earl Brenner; and sister, Marie Brack.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be announced at a later date.

Kenneth “Kenny” Max Rosiere, 50, died December 10, 2020, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; Kenny was born September 13, 1970, in Joplin, Missouri, to Gary and Linda Rosiere.&nbsp;

He graduated Haven High School in Haven, and spent many years in construction and welding, among many other many talents.

&nbsp;Kenny was the kind of man who would drop everything to help family, friends, neighbors or a stranger. He would honestly give anything he had to help someone in need.

&nbsp;Kenny was a man of many passions and interest, but no passion was greater than that for his beloved motorcycle “Suzie”. Kenny and Suzie once rode from Hutchinson to Denver, Colorado.&nbsp; It was not a planned trip, but on a whim, he thought “why not.” Such was the man Kenny was. Once he had a goal you did not dare try to stop him.

Kenny is survived by his mother, Linda Rosiere of Hutchinson; grandmother, Helen Bayless; brothers and their spouses, Krystofer and Jose Rubio-Rosiere, and Jeremy and Crystal Rosiere; son, Josh Rosiere; and daughters, Stephany and Brittany Rosiere; three grandchildren; and many family and friends.

&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Rosiere.

&nbsp;A memorial is planned for and will be announced in 2021.

Jimmie ‘Jim’ Darling Southworth, 87, passed away December 12, 2020, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born October 16, 1933, in South Hutchinson, to Jimmie and Esther Lorraine (Hauert) Southworth.

Jim was a graduate of Partridge High School, Partridge. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army and served from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. He was a machinist at Eaton Corporation (formerly Cessna Aircraft Company), Hutchinson, retiring with 39 years of service. After retirement, he managed the Countryside Lanes Bowling Alley, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Jim was an avid bowler. He bowled two perfect games, one right-handed and one left-handed. He enjoyed golfing and had a renowned sense of humor. Jim was always ready with a quip or quote, such as “I’m celebrating my 39th birthday for the 48th time”. Not once did he ever admit to being older than 39 years. To celebrate Jim’s 39th birthday for the 41st time (80th birthday), several of his high school classmates gathered, and the jokes, the embellished storytelling, and the laughing at and with each other, was enjoyed and celebrated by all those in attendance. When it came to his family, he enjoyed joking with them, too, but his love for his family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids, was always uppermost in his heart, his thoughts, and his actions.

On February 12, 1983, Jim married Emma Lou (Steele) Ledbetter, at their residence in Hutchinson. They shared over 37 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Lou Southworth of South Hutchinson; children, Lucy Southworth (Bill) McClave of Overland Park, Charles (Cindy) Ledbetter of Oklahoma City, OK, and Pam (Barry) Babcock of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Pickerill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Charles Ledbetter, Jr.; and siblings, Earl ‘Bud’ Southworth, Vivian Wroe, Katherine Black, and Birdella Hiebert.

Memorial service will be held at a future date. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2020, and Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Deborah Renee (Rogers) Fuller, 56, died on December 9, 2020 after a four month, brief but courageous fight against esophageal cancer. She passed away with her family and friends by her side in Hutchinson, KS.

Debbie was born July 20, 1964, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Leland Gifford Jr and Barbara (Weide) Zelenka. She graduated from Buhler High School and Hutchinson Community College. Debbie was employed at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village as a Registered Nurse for 25 years, working under many different titles. She retired from Good Samaritan in July of 2019 and moved to Buda, TX with her fiancé Enos Clifford Jackson and two young children A’Mauri and A’Myiah Wilson. In Texas, Debbie initially focused on being a stay-at-home mom, but eventually felt the urge to get back to helping others through her nursing career. She began working as a pediatric home health nurse for Aveanna Home Health Care in early 2020.

Debbie was a kind, sweet, hardworking, strong and caring person, which was evident in both her personal life and her career. Throughout all the obstacles she faced, she could still be silly and smile through the storm, as well as, help others to do the same. Debbie was known for her love of water, swimming and the ocean. She also enjoyed dancing and music. She would be the first one to get up and dance, while pulling others up along with her. Debbie’s life was filled with joy as a result of her children and grandchildren. She loved being a mother and grandmother and would often take her “babies” up to her job at Good Sam, parading them around for the staff and residents. Debbie had a “go with the flow” personality and believed in living life to fullest, while sharing it with the one’s she loved the most.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew Benjamin “Noah” Grimm; and her son, Adonis Loudermilk.

Survivors include her fiancé Enos Clifford Jackson; her children, Meshia (Robert) Hill of Hutchinson, KS; Kelsey (Brian) Bernard of Wichita, KS; Tara Loudermilk, A’Mauri Wilson and A’Myiah Wilson all of Hutchinson, KS; 8 grandchildren, A’Treal Loudermilk, Jalen Bernard, Isaiah Gonzales, Kai’son Bernard, Nariyah Gonzales, JaLeah Loudermilk, Aria Bernard and Declan Johnson; three siblings, Pam Grimm, Shawna Rogers and Jeffrey Rogers (Mollie) and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Our loving sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, Marlita Dawn Whipple, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born May 12, 1956 in Ness City, Kansas to Earl and Verna Whipple.

Marlita grew up in Stafford, Kansas, the oldest of five siblings. She graduated from Stafford High School in 1974. Afterwards, she attended Adela Hale Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas. She worked for Collingwood Grain before moving to Wichita. Over the years, Marlita did office work for various companies including Koch Industries and Purina. Later on, she moved to Oklahoma City where she was employed with Caliber Home Loans Mortgage Company as a Cash Operations Specialist. Throughout her professional life, she touched many people and developed many lasting friendships.

Marlita had a true love of God and family. Being the oldest sibling, Marlita was our information hub, which suited her well as she enjoyed talking on the phone. She was also a good listener. She took a genuine interest in her loved ones’ daily lives. She liked to read and watch movies. Marlita loved playing cards and board games with friends and relatives. She also enjoyed following college and professional football and basketball teams. 

Marlita was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Verna Whipple. 

She is survived by: sister, Earlene Byler (Doug) of Mustang, OK; brother, Douglas Whipple (Holly) of Apache Junction, AZ; brother, Dan Whipple of Oklahoma City, OK; her sister, Shirley Humes (Todd) of Hutchinson, KS; six nieces and nephews, Josh, Jeremy, and Justin Byler, Dena Whipple, Tori and Austin Humes; and six great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the future when it is safe to do so.

Marlita Dawn Whipple | 1956 - 2020 |

Sandra Lee Rachel Beckler, 65, passed away December 9, 2020 at the Kansas Medical Center, Andover, Kansas. She was born May 7, 1955 in Faulkton, SD, the daughter of Wilson and Marcella Pundsack Peterson. 

She was a graduate of Faulkton High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1997, she was a dietician. Sandra was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved collecting angels, gardening and baking with her grandchildren. Everyone was family to Sandra.

She married Anthony Beckler on October 19, 1973 in Seneca, SD. He survives.

She was born May 7, 1955 in Faulkton, SD, the daughter of Wilson and Marcella Pundsack Peterson. She was a graduate of Faulkton High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1997, she was a dietician. Sandra was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved collecting angels, gardening and baking with her grandchildren. Everyone was family to Sandra.She married Anthony Beckler on October 19, 1973 in Seneca, SD. Shelli Rae Blackburn, 61, passed away December 8, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born October 20, 1959, in Hutchinson, to Raymond and Elaine (Simpson) King.

Shelli graduated from Nickerson High School early in 1977, to attend Hutchinson Community College. For several years, she was secretary at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, prior to working as a pharmacy technician at Ashcraft Pharmacy, South Hutchinson. Shelli was a master of Wheel of Fortune, read plenty of romance novels, enjoyed watching the University of Kansas basketball team, doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, camping with her family, and cultivating flowers. Her chocolate chip cookies developed cult status among family and friends.

Shelli was unwavering in her nurturing devotion to those she loved – a distinction that included many, and always had room for one more. She was the number one fan for many Hutchinson area bands – musical efforts first of her brother, Brent, and husband, Mike, and ultimately of her sons, Justin and Brandon. Suffering many and impossibly loud band rehearsals, Shelli became a mother to the many who passed her doorstep and, moreover, a friend. Behind her easy smile and sparkling eyes resided a searching and creative mind, always eager to engage, to solve, to cultivate, while betraying just enough mischief.

On February 2, 1980, she married Michael Linn Blackburn, at the Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. They shared over 40 years of marriage.

Shelli is survived by her husband, Michael Blackburn of South Hutchinson; sons, Justin (April Mok) Blackburn of Alton, IL, and Brandon (Jenny) Blackburn of Naples, FL; and brother, Brent (Sandy) King of South Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Bruce King.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a future date.

Darlene Delores (Shultz) Eiland, 81, loving mother of O’Nita Jones, Camden, AR, Darrell (Michele), Hays, KS, Jeff (Michelle), Camden, AR, Amanda Schwab (John), Liberal, KS, Teresa Bates (Brett), Dallas, TX and Angela Webb (Everette), Lebanon, MO, went to be with her Savior on December 9, 2020.

Darlene was born to H.M. “Jake” and Electa Shultz on July 26, 1939 on the Yaggy Plantation near Nickerson, KS.&nbsp; She attended Nickerson High School and graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1957. Darlene married Kenneth Eiland on March 23, 1958. He preceded her in passing after 53 years of marriage.&nbsp; Darlene came to know Jesus Christ in 1973 and was baptized at First Baptist Church, Lockport, LA.

While she and Kenny lived in southern Louisiana, Darlene pursued her nursing degree, attending Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, LA, 1976 and graduating from Ouachita Vocational Technical School, Camden, AR, 1977. She spent many years caring for the sick, delivering babies, and finally ending her career by caring for the elderly at Sterling Presbyterian Manor in Sterling, KS and retiring after 25 years of nursing service. She enjoyed painting, playing cards, gardening, scrapbooking and quilting with her sisters, and spending time with her family and friends.

At the time of her passing, Darlene resided in Dallas with her daughter, Teresa and family.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren,&nbsp; 1 great-great-grandchild all of whom she dearly loved; two brothers, Darrell (Bobbi) Shultz, Ellinwood, KS and Doug (Sandy) Shultz, Nickerson, KS and two sisters Dorothy Wall, Hutchinson, KS and Diana Parsons, Pratt, KS and brother-in-love Freddie Eiland, Camden, AR.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-loves and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Nicholas, sister Dolly June Schiewe and brother Delbert Shultz.

Funeral service was held Friday, December 11, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, and was officiated by her grandson-in-love the Reverend Todd Brown. Burial followed in the Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.

Robert “Bob” Jones, 80, of Mount Hope, KS, passed away at his home. He was born November 23, 1940 in McPherson, KS, the son of Emery and Margaret (Hart) Jones.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Bob owned and operated Bob’s Auto Sales in Mount Hope. He loved working with his hands and could build anything, from motors, cars and carpentry. He was very meticulous and built many pieces of furniture and was always building something unique for his home and kids. He enjoyed being outside, nature and animals, but most of all loved the sunshine. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, where he found his most joy, as he was always a kid at heart. He spoke out loud to JC as if he was right there beside him in person. Bob lived life to the fullest.

Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet (Venters) Jones; son, Todd Jones (Amanda); daughters, Christi Moore (Justin), Debra Rhodenbaugh (Rick), and Sandra Brackett (Michael); grandchildren, Madi Russ (Cody), Jocelyn Jones, Chole and Megan Moore, Dustin Roberts (Ann), Alisha Elliot (Jason), Travis Rhodenbaugh (Alexis), Lindsey Hall (Matthew), and Shaun Brackett (Amanda); and 13 great grandchildren.

Clarence M. Bontrager, 83, of South Hutchinson, died December 7, 2020, at his home. He was born June 22, 1937, in Middlebury, IN, to Moses and Edna (Graber) Bontrager.

Clarence was a farmer, electrician, and pastor. He was a member of Salem Mennonite Church, Middlebury, IN, and attended Word of Life Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson.

On July 25, 1958, Clarence married Lydia J. Bontrager, in Goshen, IN. She died February 8, 2018.

Edward ‘Ed’ Hullet, 94, of Hutchinson, passed away December 8, 2020, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1926, in Avard, OK, to Cleo and Pauline Hullet.

Ed married his high school sweetheart, Jean Riecker, on July 4, 1945. They were married for 75 years.

Ed loved the land and farmed for 15 years in Oklahoma before moving to Hutchinson. He worked for Cessna, Beltone Hearing Service, and Hullet’s Christmas Tree Farm. Ed was noted for his work in collecting and restoring salesman sample stoves.

Ed was a dedicated family man who enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping. He and Jean loved working and living side by side out on their farm. Ed loved watching the wildlife, spending time with his family, and attending Grace Bible Church.

Ed is survived by his wife, Jean Hullet; daughter, Sherry Relph (Willie); son, Steve Hullet (Nadine); grandchildren, Amanda Hullet, Bryce Hullet (Amy); great-grandchildren, Noah, Carter, and Sawyer Hullet; and step-granddaughter, Heather LacKamp and family.

Services are planned for family only at this time, with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.

Marcia Gae Cooper, 83, died December 8, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born March 17, 1937, in Neodesha, Kansas, to Wilborn and Muriel Ellen (Sale) Grokett.

Marcia graduated from Neodesha High School, and Emporia State Teachers College.&nbsp; She was a homemaker. Marcia enjoyed tending to her flowers, playing the violin and watching KU basketball.&nbsp; She played the violin with the Hutchinson Symphony for many years and ‘The String Group’. Marcia was a member of D.A.R. and PEO Chapter BL. She enjoyed volunteering as a longtime docent at the Cosmosphere International SciEd Center and Space Museum (formerly the Kansas Cosmosphere). &nbsp;&nbsp;

Christmas was Marcia’s favorite time of the year. She enjoyed decorating her entire house for the holidays and wearing Christmas sweaters.&nbsp; Marcia and Dick’s annual Christmas Eve party was a tradition for friends and family for many, many years. This was second though to celebrating the season with family, especially her four grandchildren.

On August 23, 1963, she married Richard ‘Dick’ Cooper at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX. They shared 56 years of marriage before his death December 13, 2019.

Marcia is survived by son, Craig Cooper (Trisha); grandchildren, Colin, Mason, Callie, and Marlie Cooper; sister-in-law, Linda Zenor (Larry), all of Hutchinson; and nieces and nephews, Andy Cooper (Ann), Stacie Williams (Sean), Becky Sutton (Tim), and Beth Boxwell (Brent).

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Curt Allen Cooper; and brother-in-law, Dave Cooper and wife, Jane.

 </figure>Marcia Gae Cooper, 83, died December 8, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born March 17, 1937, in Neodesha, Kansas, to Wilborn and Muriel Ellen (Sale) Grokett.Marcia graduated from Neodesha High School, and Emporia State Teachers College.&nbsp; She was a homemaker. Marcia enjoyed tending to her flowers, playing the violin and watching KU basketball.&nbsp; She played the violin with the Hutchinson Symphony for many years and ‘The String Group’. Marcia was a member of D.A.R. and PEO Chapter BL. She enjoyed volunteering as a longtime docent at the Cosmosphere International SciEd Center and Space Museum (formerly the Kansas Cosmosphere). &nbsp;&nbsp;Christmas was Marcia’s favorite time of the year. She enjoyed decorating her entire house for the holidays and wearing Christmas sweaters.&nbsp; Marcia and Dick’s annual Christmas Eve party was a tradition for friends and family for many, many years. This was second though to celebrating the season with family, especially her four grandchildren.On August 23, 1963, she married Richard ‘Dick’ Cooper at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX. Ileine Hoefer, 83, of Hutchinson, died December 5, 2020, at Hospice House. She was born June 12, 1937, in Kingman, to Earl and Dorothy (Pipkin) Day.

Ileine was a graduate of Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. She worked in medical records at the Reno County Health Department. Ileine was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

On January 24, 1958, she married Phillip Hoefer, in Hutchinson. They shared 49 years together before he passed away on November 30, 2006.

Ileine is survived by sons, Robbin Hoefer (Debbie), Scott Hoefer (Brooke), both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Eric, Brandon, Ryan, and Jade Hoefer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil Hoefer; brother, Melvin Day; and granddaughter, Elyse B. Hoefer.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Westside Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. George John Ojeda, 81, of Hutchinson, died December 8, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1938, in Hutchinson, to John and Elizabeth (Caudillo) Ojeda.

George was a graduate of Hutchinson High School and served for a year in the United States Army. He worked for Leech Products and Furrs Cafeteria. George loved cooking and good food leading to an enviable collection of cookbooks and recipes. In his younger days he loved dancing and attending dances in Hutchinson and surrounding communities. George always had a new Monte Carlo. He also enjoyed old movies and television shows. George was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

He is survived by sister, Rosemary Ojeda, Hutchinson; brother, Richard Ojeda, Hutchinson; brother, Joseph ‘Tony’ Ojeda (Linda), Hutchinson; nephew, Schon Ojeda (Laura), Spring Hill; nephew, Chris Ojeda (Vicki), Olathe; niece, Raquel Tyrell (Corey), Wichita; nephew, Joe Mackey, Los Angeles, CA.

George John Ojeda | 1938 - 2020 |

Henry Harold Wedel, 82, of Goessel, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born November 15, 1938 in Goessel, the son of Henry H. and Alma (Schmidt) Wedel.

Henry attended Goessel schools, graduating from Goessel High School with the class of 1957.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He married Verda Wiens at the Goessel Mennonite Church in 1958 and shortly after their marriage he&nbsp;served in 1-W service at General Rose Hospital in Denver, CO. for two years.&nbsp;

Henry worked for Hesston Corporation, currently known as Agco Corporation, for 45 years. He also farmed and raised livestock. Being avid campers throughout their lives, they enjoyed family camping trips several times a year. He was a long time member and leader of the Goessel Mennonite Church, singing in the choir and also the Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus (KMMC). He and Verda went on the KMMC concert tour to Europe in 2000. They enjoyed travel on cruises, bus trips, and annual trips with the grandkids to locations such as Oklahoma City and Branson. Soon after retiring he played pool and went to pool tournaments at the Agape Center where he eventually served as a board member. Following Verda’s passing, he coordinated regional pool tournament schedules and frequent coffee dates with his friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Henry was preceded in death by his wife in June of 2017 and is survived by his four sons; Ron (Becky) Wedel, Tim Wedel and Bob Wedel, all of Goessel, and Daryl (Jacque) Wedel of Newton; one sister, Irene (Jerry) Snow, Scott City, KS and two brothers Melvin (Barbara) Wedel, Newton, and Ken (Barbara) Wedel, Moore, OK; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
