Harvey D. Nisly, 88, of Hutchinson, died April 20, 2021, at his home. He was born on March 29, 1933, in Hutchinson, to Daniel and Lizzie (Borntrager) Nisly.

Harvey was God’s faithful servant for many years. He was heavily involved with prison ministry and other outreach organizations that would lead people to Jesus. Harvey was a devoted father and husband who loved Jesus above all else. He was determined to show Gods love to his children and grandchildren and prayed for their salvation and led by example. Harvey enjoyed cooking meals for people in need and often invited people over for dinner and supper. He had a servant’s heart and enjoyed blessing others with the gifts that God had given him. Harvey was a dairy farmer and continued his own garden for many years after he stopped farming. He was especially known for his tomatoes. Harvey was a member of Center Amish Mennonite Church.  

On March 12, 1954, he married Edna W. Miller, in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years of marriage before she passed away on Feb. 26, 2007.

Harvey is survived by: daughters, Sharon Thacker (Larry), Hutchinson, Emma Nisly, Cass Lake, MN; son, Clayton Nisly (Jennifer), Abbyville; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Anna Coblentz, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Edna Nisly; brothers, Perry, Mahlon, Sam, and Roman Nisly; and sisters, Fannie Helmuth, Clara, Barbara, and Mandy Nisly.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Center Amish Mennonite Church, 7411 W. Morgan, Hutchinson, with pastors Dwight Miller, LaVerne Miller, and Julian Nisly officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Center Amish Mennonite Church.
