
Madlyn Kay Valgren, 80, died April 19, 2021, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born July 23, 1940, in Dodge City, to Ray and Elizabeth (Houser) Wingert.
In addition to being a homemaker, Madlyn worked in the cafeteria at Cessna. She loved embroidery and enjoyed bargain shopping at thrift stores, flea markets, and estate sales. Madlyn adored butterflies, hummingbirds, and her ‘fur babies’. She was a member of The Father’s House, Hutchinson.
On May 9, 1959, Madlyn married Donald L. Valgren, in Hutchinson. They shared 50 years of marriage before his death on October 24, 2009.
She is survived by: children, Cindy Ewing, of Nixa, MO, Johnny Valgren (Joann), of Fort Worth, TX, Linda Peters, of Wichita; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Wagner, Gerald Wingert (Saundra), Barry Wingert (Stormy), all of Hutchinson; and numerous extended family members.
Madlyn was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Mary Ellen Blanton, Sandy Brand, Cathy Smith, and Ray ‘Bud’ Wingert.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Madlyn’s life will be held this summer. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
