
Gladys Laverne Bagby passed away in Woodward, Oklahoma on April 16, 2021 at the age of 89. Gladys was born in Bison, KS. on July 20, 1931 to John J. and Emelia (Holstein) Scheuerman.
She grew up in Otis, KS., along with her 12 siblings. Shortly after graduating from Otis High School, she went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. Gladys worked in several different positions for SWB before retiring after 36 years of service.
On Sept. 27, 1965 she was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Bagby. Bob and Gladys never had children of their own but loved their nieces and nephews dearly never missing a graduation, wedding, or reason to celebrate. She loved to travel, loved to eat sweets, and was always up for a shopping trip. In 2015, Gladys moved to an assisted living center in Woodward, Ok to be closer to family. She loved her new home and the friends she made at Providence Place. The family will forever be grateful for the excellent care they provided and her special friend and nurse, Alma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and 11 of her siblings.
Gladys is survived by one brother, Virgil Scheuerman and wife Irene from Weinfield, Ks, one sister-in- law, Sherry Scheuerman, Camdenton, Mo, and numerus nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a .m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Woodward and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS., 67502.
