
Russell Homer Ackerman, Jr., 63, of Burrton, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his home. He was born May 22, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Russell Homer Sr. and Winona (Sines) Ackerman.
Russell served in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1979, attaining the rank of Senior Airman.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jacobsen on Nov. 17, 2001 at Waukegan, Illinois.
Russell was self-employed, specializing in computer networking. He also worked as a pastor.
He enjoyed shooting, working on cars and spending time with his family. Russell attended Burrton Community Church, Burrton.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ackerman of Burrton; children, Robert Knee of Greenville, Illinois, Nicholas Knee of Pocahontas, Illinois, Melina Ackerman, Mekenzie Ackerman, Madison Ackerman, Joshua Ackerman, Danielle Ackerman, Kira Ackerman and Miranda Ackerman, all of Burrton, and Julie Ackerman.
Russell was preceded in death by his mother, Winona Ackerman.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Burrton Community Church, 429 Reno Ave, Burrton, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Burrton Community Church in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, Kansas 67107.
