Dee Dee’s life began on October 7, 1954, in Dalhart. She was the daughter of Jake and Margaret (Doss) Barlow. 

She worked as a bartender in Guymon, OK,  and was part of the doctoring crew at Hitch’s feedlot in Hardesty, OK. She worked hard and loved to learn. All of her friends’ kids were hers too, she was Mama DeeDee to many. She had a quick wit and enjoyed music, dancing, playing pool and get-togethers with friends and family. She was well known for her fiery spirit and red hair. She dearly loved animals. Legend has it that her mother wore combat boots. 

Dee Dee was united in marriage to Steve Lang on November 18, 1983, in Hardesty, OK.  Dee Dee’s greatest joy was her family which includes her husband Steve Lang of Greeley, CO; daughter Lindsey Lang of Greeley, CO; sister Cheryl January of Pryor, OK; brother Joe Barlow of Amarillo, TX; mother-in-law Frances Gehrke of Herington; sisters-in-law Susan Sponsler of Montague, CA; and Sheri Alvey of Herington; brother-in-law Scott Lang of Abilene; grand-dogger Ginger of Greeley, CO and several nieces and nephews. 

 Dee Dee passed away on February 3, 2022, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Richard Gehrke, niece Jill Coburn, step-son Brandon Lang, and nephew Josh Lang. Her family will gather with friends on Thursday February 10, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington. Her funeral service will be held on Friday February 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Herington. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Markley Harold “Mark” Zwink, age 68, passed away on January 25, 2022, in Boulder, CO.&nbsp; Born on May 9, 1953, at Newton; he was the son of Robert A. and Vivian M. (Barsell) Zwink.

Mark graduated from Macksville High School in 1971 and later joined the US Navy.&nbsp; After completing his military service, he moved to Larned, which would be his home for the rest of his life.&nbsp; Mark attended Barton County Community College.&nbsp; He was a member of the First Christian Church of Larned.

Mark held a number of jobs in Larned.&nbsp; He worked at KANS Radio as a broadcaster and in other capacities.&nbsp; There, on occasion, he greatly enjoyed serving as sportscaster for local and area high school games.&nbsp; He later was employed by The Tiller and Toiler newspaper, where his duties included writing the column Zwink or Zwim, which often included Mark’s unique perspective on local events and personalities.&nbsp; He then worked on the custodial staff for the Fort Larned School District, making many lifelong friendships with fellow school employees and students.&nbsp; At the time of his death, he was a part-time employee at the Larned Community Center, helping with activities and events and assisting regulars and visitors young and old.&nbsp;

Mark was an avid sports fan, enthusiastically following his favorite teams and athletes whether they were at the professional levels or in the youth leagues. He was a genuine people person.&nbsp; His easy smile, wry wit, sense of humor, and colorful, engaging personality will be missed by many.&nbsp;

Mark was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by brothers David Zwink, Mississauga, ON, Canada; Timothy (Ann) Zwink, Piedmont, OK;&nbsp; Joel (Patti) Zwink, Pacific City, OR; and Jonathan (Janice) Zwink, Topeka; and sister Debra (George) Susoeff, Mapleton, OR; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his many, many friends in the Larned community.

Mark’s family would especially like to extend its heartfelt thanks to those close friends of Mark who assisted him during his last, brief illness.

He was Public Works Superintendent for the City of Stafford.&nbsp; On September 5, 2018 he married Tammy Johnson at St. John.&nbsp; Kent is survived by his wife: Tammy.&nbsp; Daughter: Brittany (Matthew) Petler.&nbsp; Step-children: Jamie (Isaac) Downing, Shayla (Theron) Puls, Dalton Osenbaugh, Billy Pfister, Danny Pfister and Bobby Farr.&nbsp; Brothers: Dan Pruett, Jack Blazier and Bobby (Denise) Applehans. Junior Jay Base, 67, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2022, at McPherson Hospital. He worked at Central Plastics, McPherson as a fork lift &amp; grinding operator and most recently worked in the fabrication department. Junior was born on November 27, 1954, in Moundridge, KS, the son of Ralph and Lavada Marie (Nightingale) Base. On April 4, 1982, Junior was united in marriage to Darla Koehn. He later married Jill Anderson on February 14, 1987. Survivors include: his daughter, Mariah (Travis) Sawyer of McPherson, KS; one grandson, Jordan Sawyer of McPherson, KS; a brother, Earl (Chloe) Base of Galva, KS; two nieces, Teri (Dwayne) Mastre of Galva, KS and Audrey (Brandon) Koehn of Galva, KS; and many extended family and friends. Anita Maxine Sheridan, 65, of Raymond, Kansas, passed away February 3, 2022, at her son’s home in Wichita, Kansas. She was born June 10, 1956, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Marion and Ruby Maxine Bitner Brady. Anita has resided in Raymond since 1995, formerly of Chase, Kansas. She attended Chase High School. Anita worked for Ellinwood Tank Service from 1979 to 1998, purchasing the business in 1998. She enjoyed camping, bowling, politics, caring for others, spending time with her family, and most of all, sharing her love of Christ with others. On May 22, 1999, Anita was united in marriage with Daniel Sheridan in Lyons. He and his mother, Shirley Sheridan, survive of the home. She is also survived by her daughter, Celena Feil and Brian Oberle of Chase, KS; son, Travis Feil of Wichita, KS; brother, Francis Brady and wife Mary of Chase, KS; two sisters-in-law, Judy Brady of Moses Lake, WA and Janice Brady of Valley Center, KS; and four grandchildren, Justin Oberle, Mackenzie Oberle, Levi Feil, and Malachi Feil. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gary, Melvin, and Chuck Brady; sister, Gene Lovas; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Brady and Kay Brady. He graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1983, and later received a certificate in diesel mechanics from Salina Area Technical College in 1986. David was a mechanic for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lyons, and the Men’s Golf Association at the Lyons Municipal Golf Course. David was an avid sportsman, golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed boating at the lake, cussing, watching Oklahoma University Football, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Leland Wayne Nuss of Newton, Kansas passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 91. After several months of declining health, Leland died peacefully with his beloved wife Patricia and their children by his side. Leland (Lee) was born in Hillsboro, KS on October 19, 1930 to father Charles Nuss and mother Anna (Matz) Nuss. Losing his father at the age of 10, Lee spent most of his childhood on a farm at Waldek, KS with his mother and older brother Allen. He enjoyed playing school sports where as a freshman, was a member of the Lehigh 1944 state basketball championship team. He later transferred to and graduated from Hillsboro High School. Lee met and soon married his forever sweetheart, Patricia (Jost) in September of 1958. Throughout their 63 years of marriage, they weathered the ups and downs of life together while raising their three children - - Dale, Elaine and Jan. Lee was a farmer and cattleman for much of his adult life, and later went on to work for AMPI in Hillsboro. He finished his working career with the Hesston school district where he drove a school bus for many years. He loved his school bus kids, and they loved Mr. Nuss! The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lee - - playing dominoes and pinnacle, family dinners, watching school sports (especially when his grandchildren were playing), pie, outdoor work/activities, 4th of July fireworks, ice cream, cattle, as well as discussing the weather and crop conditions with his fellow farming friends and family. But most notably, Lee was a man of strong faith and conviction. Being a Christian was always the foundation of his life. He was a life-long Lutheran, Baptized and confirmed. A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, KS. Leland is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Allen (Virginia) Nuss, and a stillborn daughter. Leland Wayne Nuss |1930-2021|

LeRoy W. Johnston passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Garden Terrace in Overland Park. Leroy was 80. He spent his last ten years requiring full-time nursing care due to Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Prior to the nursing home, he lived in Park City, Hays, and the majority of his life, in McPherson. LeRoy was born near Coldwater, in 1941. The family made their way to McPherson. His father, Harold Johnston, was a teacher and coached basketball.

LeRoy graduated from McPherson High School. He attended welding school and married Betty Nelson when both were in their early 20’s. He adopted Betty’s three sons, Richard (Vickie) of Wichita; Marty of Olathe; and Troy (Connie) of The Woodlands, TX, and later had a daughter with Betty, Michelle (Robert Alexander) of Kansas City, MO. The marriage ended in 1983. He has a brother, Charles, who lives in Downers Grove, IL. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two nieces and their families, and former wife, Betty Wait of Buckner, MO. LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marie Johnston. LeRoy earned a living in his younger years as a welder but ultimately lost a good part of his hearing and endured back problems. He then worked for periods of time at Certain Teed, Swick-Guth, RC Williams Oil company and for many years, at Wichita Kenworth until his cognitive decline. He enjoyed building things and driving big rigs and heavy equipment. He was a licensed pilot with instrument rating as well. LeRoy enjoyed driving around on Sundays, watching TV and a big bowl of popcorn with a glass of cold milk. He often spent weekends helping others with projects or earning some extra money by creating/welding motorcycle trailers. He seemed to always find projects but also enjoyed boating and camping. When he lived in McPherson, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Services will be private and his final resting place will be next to his parents at McPherson Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Cynthia Lee Crable, 60, of Wichita passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home in Wichita.  Cynthia was born June 17, 1961 in Anaheim, CA. She was the daughter of the late Charles Barbara (Dees) Ely.  

Cynthia was a spiritual person and a Christian.  She loved to cook and above all, she loved her family and the time they spent together.

She is survived by her son: Anthony Montalbano of Brooklyn, NY, daughter: Shandi Schropp-Olson (Eli) of Lindsborg; son: Ian Schropp of Lindsborg; son: Nicholas Ely-Schropp of Lindsborg; first husband and dear friend: Rory D. Schropp; sisters: Jo Anne Hill (Mark), and Trena Normandin (Mark); brother: Charles Ely, Jr. (Vivian); half-sister, Jeanne Wells-Hall; grandchildren: Kelly, Dakota, Tirzah, and Wade Ely and Braylon, Amaya, and Jaxton Olson; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Barbara Ely, and her husband: Tony Crable.

Visitation and a celebration of Cynthia’s life will be Wednesday, February 9 from 5-7PM at Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg. Cremation will follow.

Kyle was born October 22, 1980, in Hutchinson, the son of Donald and Lynnette Chick.&nbsp; He was a Captain at Hutchinson Correctional Facility for 19 years.&nbsp; Kyle was dearly loved by many and will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald. Brent Allen Rayl, 57, died February 1, 2022, at his home.&nbsp; He was born February 15, 1964, in Hutchinson, to Larry Phillip and Deloris (Seabolt) Rayl.

Brent graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1982, and Hutchinson Community College in 1984.&nbsp; Prior to retirement, he worked in the graphics department at Luminous Neon. Brent enjoyed bicycling, his dune buggy, and dragging main with his wife, Kerry, in their 1970 Ford Cobra Torino.&nbsp; Above all, Brent cherished spending time with his granddaughter, Agitha; they were inseparable.&nbsp;

On March 22, 1986, he married Kerry Louise Wiens, in Hutchinson.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Brent is survived by:&nbsp; his wife of almost 36 years, Kerry of Hutchinson; sons, Chris Wiens of CO, and Caleb Rayl (Izzy) of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Agitha Rayl of Hutchinson; mother, Deloris “Dee” Rayl of Hutchinson; sister, Renee Ewert (Rick) of Wichita; nieces, Rebecca Albert (Josh), Katelyn Wiens (Rachel), Katherine Cota (Erin), Carmen Wille (Clint), Kristen Wiens-Brubaker (Keaton), and Candace Ahrens-Galindo (Jose); nephew, Cooper Ewert; 11 great-nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerry Wiens (Tammy).

He was preceded in death by his father.&nbsp;

Brent Allen Rayl  |1964-2022| 

Duane’s life began on October 19, 1933, in Herington. He was the son of Herman and Edna H. (Roehrman) Gentz. 

Duane was a 1956 graduate of Texas A &amp; M University. He was united in marriage to Karla Cruz Lopez on June 10, 1997. Duane served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve for 30 years. He began his professional career as a soil scientist in Liberty, TX with Soil Conservation Service and Bureau of Indian Affairs, then onto Billings, MT; Oklahoma, Alaska Office of Surface Mining in the Department of the Interior, followed by Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and finally, the Denver area. He also spent ten years teaching in San Antonio. 

Duane’s family includes his wife Karla of Castle Rock, children Kristina, Amber, Ida, Iona, and Kaylee. He passed away at his home on January 30, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Duane’s family will gather with friends on Wednesday February 9, 2022, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home in Herington from 1-2 p.m. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home led by Pastor Bill Neuman. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery with military honors following the service.&nbsp;

Jackie LeRoy Hamilton, 76, of Inman, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home.&nbsp; He was born March 21, 1945 in Tescott, Kansas, the son of Eli J. and Alida (Desaire) Hamilton.&nbsp; He graduated from Tescott High School with the class of 1963.&nbsp; Jackie served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1967, attaining the rank of Torpedoman’s Mate Petty Officer 3rd&nbsp;Class.&nbsp;

Jackie worked for the Salina Fire Department as a crew member, as well as part-time work with Sears and as an electrician for various contractors.&nbsp; He later moved to McPherson to take the role of Assistant Fire Chief, eventually becoming Fire Chief, before retiring in 1996, after 28 years of leadership and dedication to the fire service.

Jackie is survived by his two daughters, Jill (Jeff) Koehn of McPherson, and Kristin Hamilton Pence of Olathe; four grandchildren, Ashley Koehn, Megan Koehn, Mila Pence, and Simon Pence; and former spouse Linda (Johnson) Henderson.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Merida, Olive, Frances, and Connie; and two brothers, Donald and Marion.

Graveside services will take place at McPherson Cemetery at 11a.m. on Saturday February 12th&nbsp;2022 with Pastor Bob Yates presiding and the McPherson Fire Department Honor Guard will be present.&nbsp; Following the service, family will welcome friends for a light lunch and celebration of life at the Inman Community Building, 406 E. Center St.&nbsp; Family requests that visitors at either the inurnment or gathering afterwards honor Jack’s love of sports by wearing their favorite team’s apparel if they wish. Jackie loved all of Kansas’ sports teams, not missing too many games.&nbsp;

Gail Dean Wolf was born to Celestine and Rosalie (Stapleton) Wolf on September 17, 1946 in Quinter, and died on February 2, 2022, in Buhler.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Michelle; and daughter, Gaylene.&nbsp;

Gail married Michelle Sue Bruce on December 20, 1969, in South Hutchinson. They had three children.&nbsp; Gaylene Celeste Wolf was stillborn on December 29, 1970.&nbsp; Shane Daniel Wolf was born on February 7, 1972. He resides with his husband, Michael ‘Shawn’ Ranspot in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.&nbsp; Amy Deann Berry was born on May 19, 1975.&nbsp; She and her husband reside in Houston, Texas.&nbsp; Gail is also survived by two grandchildren, Rachel Michelle Belinoski (Justin), Houston, Texas, and Brandon Shawn Berry (Morgan Rohr), Hutchinson.&nbsp; Rachel and Justin's son, Max Celestine, is Gail's only great-grandchild.&nbsp; He also survives.&nbsp;

Gail lived in Houston with Amy and Kenneth for a period of time and it was then that he and ‘Baby Max’ formed a task force using a ‘blaster’ (Gail's cane) as ammunition to aid Godzilla in the war against threats to humanity.&nbsp; He loved encouraging Max's wild imagination, though he was not allowed to ‘hog’ the blaster.&nbsp;

Gail had two brothers whom he was very close to.&nbsp; The camaraderie among them was paramount.&nbsp; Jerry ‘Briar’ Wolf (Patricia Roberts, deceased), South Hutchinson, and Billie ‘Willis’ (Christine), Medora.&nbsp;

Gail and Billie married sisters who were orphaned as teenagers due to the early deaths of their parents which factored into a particularly strong sense of loyalty to family.&nbsp; Following Michelle's death, Christine made it her priority to see to Gail's best interest the way his late wife and her sister would have.

Gail worked at William Kelly Milling in Hutchinson until it closed and then as plant manager at FeedEx Corporation in South Hutchinson until its closing. He finished his work life as the Director of Maintenance at Reno County Youth Shelter in 2011.

Gail and Michelle opened their home to numerous teens in need of foster care.

Gail was an avid and accomplished hunter. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

Gail's contagious laugh and unique way of expressing himself made him one of a kind.&nbsp; He filled his many roles as son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend with purpose and integrity. He will be missed by all.

Rosary will be 6:30pm Monday, February 7, 2022&nbsp;at Elliott Mortuary.&nbsp; Visitation with the family present will follow the Rosary.&nbsp; Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th, Hutchinson with Father Matt Glazier officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Gail Dean Wolf  |1946-2022|

Linda ‘Nana’ Hooker, passed away January 29, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; She was born September 30, 1950, in Stafford, to Charles Tyler and Bernice Arlene (Mangels) Hooker.

Linda was a 1968 graduate of Fairfield High School, Langdon. She was the Supervisor of Bindery with R.L. Polk &amp; Company, Hutchinson, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Over the course of her career, she also worked at Milwaukee Tool, Southern Extrusion, Howmet, and Graphic Impressions.

Linda was affectionately known as ‘Nana’ to her family, as well as her friends and neighbors.&nbsp; She was very involved in her grandkids’ lives and tried to make it to every concert, sporting event, and important moment in their lives.&nbsp; Linda never went more than a day or two without loving on her grandbabies.&nbsp; They were her world! In Linda’s spare time, she was an avid reader of Romance novels.

Linda ‘Nana’ Hooker, passed away January 29, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; She was born September 30, 1950, in Stafford, to Charles Tyler and Bernice Arlene (Mangels) Hooker.Linda was a 1968 graduate of Fairfield High School, Langdon. She was the Supervisor of Bindery with R.L. Polk &amp; Company, Hutchinson, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Over the course of her career, she also worked at Milwaukee Tool, Southern Extrusion, Howmet, and Graphic Impressions.Linda was affectionately known as ‘Nana’ to her family, as well as her friends and neighbors.&nbsp; She was very involved in her grandkids’ lives and tried to make it to every concert, sporting event, and important moment in their lives.&nbsp; Linda never went more than a day or two without loving on her grandbabies.&nbsp; They were her world! Jerome H. Steffan, 75, of Lyons, passed away February 2, 2022, at his home. He was born October 14, 1946, in Nashville, the son of Harold and Louise Panek Steffan.

 Jerome was a lifetime Rice County resident having resided in Lyons since 1991, formerly of Chase. He graduated from Chase High School with the class of 1964. Jerome was a well-respected master carpenter and used his skills helping family and friends. He served in the United States Army Reserves from September 24, 1964 until March 8, 1970. Jerome was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. 

He was a car enthusiast and loved all things about cars; poring over car details, attending car shows, going to local car dealerships to strike up a deal, and taking pride in caring for the cars that he and Della kept in their garage. 

On September 14, 1968, Jerome was united in marriage with Della Rufenacht in Ness City. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his son, Jarrod Steffan and wife Aimee of Andover; four daughters, Rachel Loesch and husband Roger of Lyons; Rhonda Coulter and husband Nick of Hutchinson; Tina Martinez and husband Luis of Hutchinson; and Tonya Navarro and husband Matt of Emporia; two brothers, Larry Steffan and wife Debby of Chase; and Jim Steffan and wife Cindy of Lyons; sister, Janie Haxton of Claflin; two brothers-in-law, Dale Rufenacht and wife Cindy of Amarillo, TX, and Howard Rufenacht of Wichita; fourteen grandchildren, Mikayla, Cassie, Reagan, Michael, Chloe, Karsyn, Gaige, Landon, Lyncoln, Madison, Zane, Dominic, Hunter, and Augustine.

 Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Travis Steffan; and two brothers-in-law, Larry Haxton and Gary Rufenacht.

He was preceded in death by one great granddaughter

A private grave side service will be held in the spring.

Edward J. Doerksen, 89, passed away Feb. 2, 2022, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, with his family by his side.&nbsp; He was born March 8, 1932, outside of Buhler to John R. and Edna (Bergen) Doerksen.&nbsp; On August 12, 1956, he married Lois C. Bether. &nbsp;She passed away on October 6, 2013.

Edward served as the Buhler City Superintendent for 41 years and had owned Ed’s Chainsaw Shop for over 30 years.&nbsp; He was a member of Buhler Mennonite Church and had later attended Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (Gary) Branscom, Hutchinson; son, Randy (Pam) Doerksen, Hutchinson; brother, Robert Doerksen, Denver, CO; sister, Vernabelle Pedersen, Newport, WA; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.&nbsp;

He was preceded by his wife; son, Edward Doerksen Jr.; and a sister, Darlean Hein.

Joseph "Joe" Stafford, age 70, passed away on February 1, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center of complications following heart surgery. Joe was born on November 17, 1951, in El Dorado, to Margaret and Bob Stafford.

Joe was a graduate of Nickerson High School and he attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Joe lived in Lawrence, for many years. For a time, he was the owner of a business on Massachusetts Street. Joe also worked for the United States Postal Service and for Cox Communications. Later in life, Joe relocated to Hutchinson to be closer to family members. At the time of his death, Joe was employed at Portfolio Recovery Associates.

Joe enjoyed sports, especially KU basketball. He also enjoyed music, reading, and he was a fabulous cook. Joe loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and they adored him.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Dr. Rob Stafford and Tom Stafford and his nephew, George Stafford.

He is survived by sisters, Nancy (Jim) Rizzuto, Kris Stafford, Sarah Kovach and Mary Stafford; brothers, Ned Stafford and Jon (Eleanor) Stafford, and his nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Per Joe's wishes, there will be no funeral service.&nbsp;

He was raised in Hillsboro and attended Hillsboro Elementary, Junior and Hillsboro High School. He worked for several companies in Hillsboro including AMPI, Coop, Roundup Industries and Hillsboro Industries. He also worked in Wichita, Kansas at Uniflow, which was associated with Hillsboro Industries. Over the years he made many friends among his co-workers and remained friends with them until his death. He was drafted into the Army on November 30, 1967 and served until November 29, 1972. While in the Army he served in Germany as a radioman. Ken married his wife, Ruth of Wichita, not only once but twice. They were joined together as man and wife for over 44 years. Ken has two daughters: Holly Meier (Mike Cox) of Little River, Kansas and Heidi Luna (Justin) of Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, daughters: Holly Meier and Heidi Luna; brother, Terry Winter (Janet of Wichita; grandchildren: Colby Meier (Nichole) of Little River; Andrew Meier (Moriah) of Lehigh; Ian Jenkins and Kaden Jenkins of Moundridge; Adijo Winter of Hillsboro; great granddaughters: Joelyn Meier and Raylee Meier of Lehigh, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Pauline Winter and brother, Steven Winter. Ken enjoyed making trips to his mother’s homeland of England and enjoyed showing his wife England when they traveled there several years ago. He enjoyed watching his daughter play softball, volleyball basketball and swim meets. He had a special love of music and in his younger days played drums in the Hillsboro Band. He worked for Panhandle Eastern as an operator for 37 years in Haven.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything involving guns.

Bob was united in marriage to Judy Williams in 1980.&nbsp; She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his three sons, BJ (Teresa) Jones of Mt. Hope, Jeff (Nikki) Jones of Suppesville, and Mike (Deanna) Jones of Mulvane; four stepsons, Randy Wulf, Rick (Lori) Wulf, Russ (Sheila) Wulf, and Rob Wulf, all of Cheney; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; and sister, Linda Baker of Lindsborg.

Katie “Mae” Popp, 93, of Hutchinson, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.&nbsp; She was born August 12, 1928, in Yoder, Kansas, as one of 12 children to D.Y. and Susan (Nissley) Bontrager.

Mae married Herman Popp in 1949 and is survived by her two sons: Jory (Gloria) Popp, Orangeburg, South Carolina and Hal (Dana) Popp, Haven; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Mae was a lifelong member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haven, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;

During her lifetime, Mae served as National President of the Auxiliary of the National Sheep and Wool Growers Association, the HCC School Board and the South Hutchinson City Council.&nbsp;

She loved to serve her community and was elected as the committee delegate for Reno County, and Chairman for the 4th&nbsp;District of Kansas. Mae also served as the Kansas delegate during the John F. Kennedy and Jimmy Carter’s presidency.&nbsp;

Memorial services will take place at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Haven.&nbsp; Burial will follow at the church cemetery.&nbsp;

Georgia Mae Unruh, 84, of Moundridge, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.&nbsp; She was born July 18, 1937 in Wichita, the daughter of George and Stella Mae (Fortner) Trisler.

She graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1955.

Georgia was a devoted homemaker.&nbsp; She was a near lifelong member of Canton Christian Church. She was a seamstress and embraced technology.

Georgia was united in marriage to James “Jim” E. Unruh on June 5, 1955 in Canton.

She is survived by her son, James Kent (April) Unruh of Clay Center; daughter, Karen Diane (Donnie) Anderson of McPherson; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ann Minear of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jim Unruh; parents; two sisters, Sharon Wedel and Connie Moddelmog; and nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Canton Christian Church.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Canton Township Cemetery.&nbsp; Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 10, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Georgia Mae Unruh, 84, of Moundridge, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.&nbsp; She was born July 18, 1937 in Wichita, the daughter of George and Stella Mae (Fortner) Trisler.She graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1955.Georgia was a devoted homemaker.&nbsp; She was a near lifelong member of Canton Christian Church. She was a seamstress and embraced technology.Georgia was united in marriage to James “Jim” E.
