Mava Dawn Powell |1939-2022|

Mava Dawn Powell, 82, of Hardtner, died Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 11, 1939 in Alva, OK, the daughter of J.B. “Buck” Whitchurch and Lola (Gilleland) Whitchurch.

Mava was a 1957 graduate of Medicine Lodge High School. She was a member of the Alva Chapter 1643 Women of the Moose, Alva, OK. Mava was the second highest rank with the Moose and her and Jim went to all of the Moose functions over the years.

Surviving are her husband, Jim E. Powell of Hardtner; two sons, Ricky Davis of Bucklin, and Rocky Davis of Medicine Lodge; two daughters, Roxanne (Jim) Johnson of Medicine Lodge, and Renee (Gary) Schultz of Hardtner; two stepsons, Randy (Olivia) Powell of Louisiana, and Jeff (Kathie) Powell of Medicine Lodge; one stepdaughter, Debbie;
one brother, Bill Whitchurch; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Hardtner United Methodist Church, Hardtner, with Pastor Margaret Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Hardtner Cemetery, Hardtner.
