Gary M. Foster, 80, of Abbyville, was found deceased December 24, 2024, in rural Kansas. He was born September 5, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Darrel and Elaine (Ehling) Foster.&nbsp;

Gary was a lifelong farmer and rancher with a great love for his cattle and sheep. He was a tremendously hard worker but he also knew the importance of family. Gary’s family was his ultimate source of joy and love.&nbsp;

On November 20, 1966, he married the love of his life, Lana Snay. They shared 58 beautiful years together before his death.&nbsp;

Gary is survived by: beloved wife, Lana Foster of Abbyville; children, Tonya (David) Roper of Abbyville, Sean (Jenny) Foster of Nickerson, and Daniel (Brynn) Foster of Haven; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Levi (Rebekah) Roper and children, Elise, Justice, and Lyric, Seth (Raychel) Roper, Gabriel Roper, Caleb (Hannah) Roper and children, Garrick and Bennett, Faith Roper, Noah Roper, Mercy (Tim) Thornton, Elijah Roper, Felicity Roper, Autumn Roper, Summer Roper, Jude Roper, Hadassah Foster, Ezekiel Foster, Jedidiah Foster, Keziah Foster, Salome Foster, Hosanna Foster, Eden Foster, Grace (Peter) Skiles and children Rory, Finnegan, and Sunny, Emma Foster, Isaiah Foster, Stuart Foster; sister, Pamela (Robert) Harber of Whitewater; brother, Scott (Judi) Foster of Abbyville; sisters-in-law, Karen Snay of Nickerson and Norva Snay of Hutchinson; and brother-in-law, Ali Halabi of Eldorado.&nbsp;

Kenneth R. “Ken” Eckrote, Jr., 90, passed away December 26, 2024, at Hester Care Center- Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born February 1, 1934, to Kenneth and Catherine (Connell) Eckrote, Sr., in Darby, PA.

Ken graduated from Lyons Township High School, LaGrange, IL, in 1952 and from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering in 1957. He worked as a project engineer for Morton Salt Division- Morton International, Inc. for 30 years before retiring. &nbsp;

On May 16, 1959, he married Mary “Fifi” Carter in Heidelburg, West Germany. &nbsp;They celebrated over 65 years together. &nbsp;She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Richard (Evonne) Eckrote of Wichita; daughters, Archer (David) Jarrett and Catherine (Don) Stillings of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Elizabeth Eckrote and Raleigh and Sydney Jarrett; and sister, Lynn Schelp of Quincy, IL. &nbsp;

He was preceded in death by: his parents and grandson, Benjamin Eckrote.

Cremation has taken place. &nbsp;There will be a private family inurnment.

Loel Wanita (Smith) Balzer, 99, of Hutchinson, died December 24, 2024 at Collier Assisted Living. She was born November 18, 1925 in Grace Hospital, Hutchinson, KS, to Wade Nelson and Mabelle Wanita (Glass) Smith.

Raised on a dairy farm southwest of Hutchinson, Loel’s elementary school years were enjoyed within walking distance of her one-room school house. Music was always a priority in her family. Except for the consequences of December 7, 1941, her years at Partridge High School were happy and very active. Loel graduated in May of 1943.

On February 6, 1944, Loel and Carl Balzer were married by Dr. Frank Richard, the pastor who baptized her at age 10. On February 10, 1944, Carl left for his preinduction to the army.&nbsp;

After her youngest son graduated from high school, Loel began her career as an editor of weekly newspaper, The Inman Review, which she enjoyed for 14 years before retiring and moving to Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Loel is survived by: three sons who blessed their marriage, Steven Lowell of Arvada, Colorado, Thomas Alan of South Hutchinson, Max Lynn (Lea) of Port Richey, Florida; grandchildren, Chadwick Balzer of Germany, Stacey (Tim) Keeton of Windsor, Colorado, Jessica Balzer of Port Richey, Florida; great-grandchildren, Nick Balzer of Germany, Chaney Cochran of Louisville, Kentucky, Carly Cochran of San Deigo, California, Steven Wiswell of Sterling, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Heidi, Holly and Mayson Wiswell of Sterling, Colorado; brother, Homer (Esther) Smith of Hutchinson; sister, Donna Waddle of Topeka; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Linda Jean Richardson, 73, died December 25, 2024, at her home with her love, Claude Bell, by her side. She was born April 26, 1951, in Sterling, KS.

Linda was a savvy business woman for over forty years, she owned Rich Paint Manufacturing. She enjoyed traveling to Colorado and Las Vegas. Linda loved cooking, gambling and going to casinos. Her greatest enjoyment were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Linda is survived by: husband, Claude; daughter, Kelly (James) McEntire of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Ally (Josh) Eberneste, Loren McEntire, Keifer (Alexis) Bass, Natalie McEntire, Grayson McEntire, Adisehn Richardson, Emi Lewis-Richardson, Bodhi Sherman, Claibourne (Mitchell) Welch; great grandchildren, Maxlyn and Aspen; sister, Melissa Adams; three nieces and three nephews.

James G. “Jim” Stoecklein, 89, died December 24, 2024 at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson.

He was born July 21, 1935 (the 7th of 17 children) on a farm southwest of Bazine, KS in Ness County, the son of Martin &amp; Anna (Depperschmidt) Stoecklein. &nbsp;Jim graduated from Ness City High School in 1953, served in the U.S. Army for three years, stateside and in Germany (20 months), from Oct. 1953 to Oct. 1956. He graduated from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. &nbsp;Jim was employed at Master Machine Tools of Hutchinson in August 1962, retiring in July 1999 after 37 years.

Jim belonged to Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #7279 at Holy Cross and #0287 (4th degree) Wichita Columbia Assembly, later #2964 (4th degree), Father David Cushing Assembly, Hutchinson, Kansas. Jim was also involved with: Perpetual Adoration since its inception in January 1989 (Friday mornings at 6 am for over 33 years), Holy Cross Catholic Church Dillon Certificate Program from 1989 until it was discontinued. &nbsp;Jim also assisted with the Holy Cross funeral dinners for many years and was active with the Reno County Food Bank for about 15 years.

On June 13, 1960, he married Venita Ann Stegman at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City, KS. They shared 64 years of marriage. &nbsp;She survives.

Other survivors include: &nbsp;one son, Dennis James “Denny” and wife Michelle, two daughters, Elaine Renee Weninger and husband Mark, and Pamela Sue “Pam” Nelson, and a daughter-in-law Janet, all of Hutchinson, KS, one brother, Donald ”Don” and wife Beth of Spring Hill, KS; four sisters, Mary Ann Pavlu of Ness City, KS, Sr. Darlene Stoecklein of El Paso, TX, Betty Gassman and husband Sam of Manhattan, KS, Donna Werth and husband Paul of Great Bend, KS, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Daniel James “Dan” Stoecklein,&nbsp;six brothers, Harvey, Melvin, Leonard, Gary, Martin Jr. and one stillborn, five sisters, Sr. Virginia Stoecklein, LuVera Rohr, Cleo Werth, Judith Stoecklein and Dorothy Mae Stoecklein.

Colin Joseph Miller, 30, of Ellinwood died unexpectedly December 16, 2024. &nbsp;He was born March 7, 1994, in Great Bend, to Kelly Dean and Fawnia Renee (Nagel) Miller. &nbsp;

Colin graduated from Ellinwood High School in 2012 and K-State in December 2016. &nbsp;During high school, he was a member of the Scholar’s Bowl, FFA, and participated in tennis, track, cross country, power lifting, and golf. &nbsp;Colin was also an active member of Ellinwood Energizers 4-H&nbsp;Club for 12 years. &nbsp;He enjoyed helping his grandfather, dad, and brother on the family farm, but his true passion was that of an entrepreneur. Colin was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ellinwood.&nbsp;

Colin is survived by: &nbsp;his mother, Fawnia Miller; brother, Saul Miller (Colbi); niece, Brooke Monet Miller; maternal grandmother, Pat (Lewis) Nagel; paternal grandmother, Phyllis (Alpers) Miller; aunt, Marci Nagel (Jody Sanders); and numerous friends and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his father, Kelly Miller; paternal grandfather, George Miller, Jr.; and maternal grandfather, Terry Nagel.

 </figure>Colin Joseph Miller, 30, of Ellinwood died unexpectedly December 16, 2024. &nbsp;He was born March 7, 1994, in Great Bend, to Kelly Dean and Fawnia Renee (Nagel) Miller. &nbsp;Colin graduated from Ellinwood High School in 2012 and K-State in December 2016. &nbsp;During high school, he was a member of the Scholar’s Bowl, FFA, and participated in tennis, track, cross country, power lifting, and golf. &nbsp;Colin was also an active member of Ellinwood Energizers 4-H&nbsp;Club for 12 years. &nbsp;He enjoyed helping his grandfather, dad, and brother on the family farm, but his true passion was that of an entrepreneur. Colin was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ellinwood.&nbsp;Colin is survived by: &nbsp;his mother, Fawnia Miller; brother, Saul Miller (Colbi); niece, Brooke Monet Miller; maternal grandmother, Pat (Lewis) Nagel; paternal grandmother, Phyllis (Alpers) Miller; aunt, Marci Nagel (Jody Sanders); and numerous friends and cousins.He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his father, Kelly Miller; paternal grandfather, George Miller, Jr.; and maternal grandfather, Terry Nagel.Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 512 N. Rodney Lee Kasparek, 71, of Hutchinson, died December 22, 2024, at Hospice House. He was born July 27, 1953, in Hutchinson, to J L and Opal M. (Gaffney) Kasparek.

Rod graduated from Nickerson High School in 1971 and worked at Morton Salt, Jackson Ice Cream, and Haven Mattress until he retired. He enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts, streaming his grandson Tyler’s baseball games, and losing at cards to niece Katie.

Rod is survived by: his children, Lisa Sallee and husband Mike of Nashville, TN, Eric Hornbeck and wife Pippa of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Trey Sallee and wife Shelby, Conner Sallee, Tyler Sallee, all of Nashville, TN; and brother, Terry Kasparek and wife Kathy of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deborah Housh.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Austin, Texas.

Norman Lewis Barringer, 84, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, in Hutchinson. He&nbsp;was born July 1, 1940, in Highland, the son of Jess and Mildred (Cole) Barringer.

On October 28, 1966, Norman married Barbara Ellan Davis in Hutchinson. They welcomed their daughter, Christina, in September 1967 and their son, Nathan, in December 1971.

He graduated from Sabetha High School in 1959, later enlisting in the Air Force from 1962 to 1965, earning an honorable discharge as an airplane mechanic with the Organizational Maintenance Squad.

Norman's work in Hutchinson began with Snyder Chemical. Later, he picked up work for Sutton Motor Co. part-time for 24 years and full-time for Sonoco Paper mill, as Head System Operator, for 38 years, until retirement in 2007.

Norman spent his free time walking around the town looking at every car lot, occasionally making an unexpected buy. He loved reading and jigsaw puzzles on his iPad.

Norman was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Lawrence: sister, Virginia Felts; brother-in-law, Johnny Davis; and sister-in-law, Linda Davis.

His wife survives Norman; their children, Christina (James) Smith, Nathan Barringer, Heather Barringer, and adopted son Isaac Smith; brother, Gerald (Robin) Barringer; sister, Velma Beeghly; sisters-in-law, Jerrie (Bill) Pitts and Theresa (Garald) Salmans; five grandchildren, Lance Smith, Andrew (Marcella) Smith, Jessica (Malcolm) Deason, Bryce (Jennifer) Smith, and Nick Barringer; eight great-grandchildren: Tyson Smith, Landon Smith, Jayci Smith, Carver Smith, Maddilynn Tilman, Christian Tillman, Azaylea Deason, and Maverick Deason. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until the service. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary.

William E. “Bill” Naab, 86, died December 23, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1938, in Jetmore, to Clemence W. “Clem” and Rose J. (Falke) Naab.

Bill graduated from Nickerson High School. He served in the United States Army for two years. Bill worked at Cessna in the fluid power division as a supervisor. He also worked as a supervisor at Alcoa and owned The Detail Shop. Bill enjoyed gardening, he was able to can over one thousand quarts of tomato juice and hot sauce each year from his garden. Bill enjoyed building hobby crafts and being outdoors. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.

Bill is survived by: children, David (Cindy) Naab of Inman, Kathy Naab of Albuquerque; grandson, Cory (Rachel) Naab of Springfield, MO; siblings, Esther Powell of Missouri, Anthony “Tony” (Peggy) Naab of Bakersville, CA, Robert (Marva) Naab of Casa Grande, AZ, and Julie (Marion) Constantinesco of Baldwin City.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th, Hutchinson, with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The casket will remain closed.

Robert "Bob" Harvey Mizell was born in Norton, KS in 1943 to Lysle and Doris Mizell. &nbsp;He passed away at the age of 80 on December 12th, 2024. He passed away of heart failure at the place he loved the most, his farm. He was a Veteran serving in Vietnam along with being a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather. He will be succeeded in life by his five siblings Roberta McAllister, Carolyn Linsenmeyer, Lester Mizell, Ray Mizell and Patty Foster; two sons, Marcus and Michael; and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Lysle Mizell; sister, Connie Lillich, née Mizell; mother, Doris Mizell, née Adams; and wife, Diane Dorthy Mizell &nbsp;née Doctor. Bob will be laid to rest in Wildmead Cemetery in Nickerson, KS next to his wife, Diane.

On January 2, 2025, a short memorial service immediately followed by a Celebration of Life for Bob will be held from 1 - 4 PM at the Nickerson Community center, located at 11 N Nickerson St, Nickerson, KS 67561. Clarence C. Roynon, 90, of Hutchinson, died December 19, 2024, at his home. He was born May 10, 1934, in Compton, California, to Carl and Viola (Helfer) Roynon.&nbsp;

Clarence proudly supported the country and was a United States Merchant Marine. He worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation. Clarence went on to retire from Hutchinson Bag Factory (Hubco Inc).&nbsp;

He married Janet Phipps in December of 1978. They shared nearly 46 years of marriage before her death on November 2, 2024.

Clarence liked flying remote-control planes. He had good manual dexterity and enjoyed wood working as a hobby. Clarence was able to construct many items with great detail.&nbsp;

Clarence is survived by: daughter, Linda Elliott of Virginia; son, Carl Roynon of Hutchinson; step-daughter, Lesa Ortiz of Plevna; brother, Keith Roynon of California; grandchildren, Matthew, Keely, CJ, RJ, Wendy, James, Gloria, and Jon; 16 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Janet Roynon; and son, Randy Roynon.&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.&nbsp;

Clarence C. Roynon |1934-2024|

Helen Ann Smith, 77, passed away and into the arms of her heavenly father on December 20, 2024, at her home in Newton. She was born June 16, 1947, to John Bailey and Leona Iona (Reinke) Gardner.

Helen attended Hutchinson Community College, where was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She also went to Pittsburg State University graduating with honors in mathematics.

Helen taught at Fort Riley Middle School, while her husband finished his degree at Kansas State University. She did substitute teaching at Nickerson High School and Newton High School. When HCC started an outreach program in Newton, she began teaching algebra at night. She taught algebra for 20 years. While teaching and raising two boys, Helen wanted to help other children, so Helen and her husband became foster parents to 10 children. She also started a business in 1990 called Cleaner Blinds 4 U. She retired the business in 2012.

In her spare time, Helen enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, gardening, and canning.

On June 16, 1969, she married William (Bill) Smith, in Plevna, Kansas. He survives.

Other survivors are: her son, Barry (Mara) Smith; and grandsons, Konrad and Oskar Smith.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Larry; and son, Brent (AJ).

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and burial will take place at a later date.

Emery Eugene Shuff, 68, died December 20, 2024, at Leisure Homestead at Stafford. He was born February 11, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Waldo Richard and Anna Marie (Keeler) Shuff.

Emery graduated from Nickerson High School in 1974. He enjoyed playing video games, watching movies, assembling puzzles, painting, and doing all kinds of crafts.

Emery is survived by his sister, Edith (Vincent) D’Amico III of Wilmington, Delaware, and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and brothers, John R., Charles E., and Kenneth D. Shuff.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum St. Hutchinson. Luncheon will follow. Burial will take place at Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. &nbsp;

Emery Eugene Shuff |1956-2024|

Beverly Mae Miller was born in Oklahoma City on August 23, 1936 and went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2024 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She lived as a child in Logan, Kansas and later Larned, Kansas, before moving to Hutchinson, Kansas, where she lived the majority of her adult life. Beverly was known for her hard work, always accompanied by her loving husband, the late Robert “Bob” Miller. Together they had many business interests including The Wharf Club Supper Club, Miller Excavating and M and M Bonding. They also served many years as foster parents to over 50 children.

Beverly was known for her hard work, always accompanied by her loving husband, the late Robert “Bob” Miller. Melvin Ray Ginn, 98, and lifelong Abbyville resident, died at his home December 19, 2024. &nbsp;He was born August 4, 1926, in the family’s farmhouse, rural Abbyville, to Melvin Curtis and Sarah Martha (Dunn) Ginn.&nbsp;

Ray attended a one-room school house and graduated as Valedictorian from Arlington High School, in 1944. He immediately entered the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, from 1944 to 1945 as a flight engineer. &nbsp;After his military service, Ray returned to the family farm. &nbsp;After the sudden death of his father, Ray took over the family farm. &nbsp;He loved all aspects of farm life, from raising crops to raising cattle. &nbsp;At one point, Ray even raised peacocks. &nbsp;He was a humble, simple man, and an avid follower of the KU men’s basketball team and Kansas City Chiefs. Ray was a lifelong member of the Abbyville Community Church.&nbsp;

Ray is survived by his two loving sisters, Lois Eskew of Penalosa and Beverly Kightlinger of Hutchinson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; sisters, Murial J. Ginn and Melba Smith; and brothers-in-law, Lee Eskew, Norman E. Kightlinger, and Donald Smith.

Ward Michael Phillips, 49, passed away December 17, 2024, at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas, after a courageous battle with renal failure. He was born June 8, 1975, to Greg and Jeannie (Skillett) Phillips in Great Bend, Kansas.

Ward grew up in Lewis, Kansas, where he attended elementary and high school graduating in 1995. He &nbsp;lived in Hays before moving to Overland Park in 2004 to pursue his education at DeVry University in Kansas City. During his time there, Ward worked for ECO Lab Pest Control until 2024. As his health declined, he moved to Hutchinson to be closer to family.

Ward had a deep passion for sports particularly the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. His favorite player was Travis Kelce, a name he honored by giving it to his beloved dog. Ward cherished the time spent with his father discussing football and life during their long phone conversations. He also looked forward to returning home each year to collaborate on their fantasy football picks.

Ward is survived by: his loving parents; brother Wade (Kayla) Phillips of Hutchinson; and maternal grandfather, Garold Skillett of Rush Center. He was preceded in death by: paternal grandparents, Melvin and Jo Anne Phillips, and maternal grandmother, Millie Skillett.

Jerry Dean Goering, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away December 16, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on July 16, 1947, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Richard and Bernice Goering, Jerry spent his formative years in the Kansas heartland. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965. &nbsp;Shortly thereafter, Jerry answered the call to serve his country.

As a proud United States Marine, Jerry served with distinction in Vietnam as a member of the elite Force Recon Unit. His bravery and sacrifice earned him a Purple Heart, a testament to his unwavering courage and dedication.

Following his military service, Jerry pursued his passion for golf becoming a highly respected golf professional. Over the years, he brought his skill and charm to courses across the country including Twin Orchard in Chicago, Illinois, Westview Country Club in Miami, Florida, and leading the renowned John Jacob’s Golf School in Crested Butte, Colorado. Later in life, Jerry found a second calling as a fly-fishing guide, splitting his time between the tranquil waters of the Florida Keys in winter and the majestic rivers of Colorado in summer.

Jerry’s love for the outdoors was matched only by his deep affection for his family. He cherished every moment spent with his two sons, Stephen (Rebecca) and JD (Kelly) Goering, and his five grandchildren, Anna, Jack, Alice, Reid, and Leland. Hearing their stories and celebrating their achievements brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Steve Goering, and former spouses Paula Goering Brady and Elizabeth Goering. &nbsp;Jerry’s legacy lives on through the love and memories he shared with those closest to him. His adventurous spirit, warm smile, and gentle wisdom will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

John Harl Kraus, 80, of Hanover, PA, passed away November 8, 2024, at his home.&nbsp;

John was born December 21, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas the son of Walter R. Kraus and Wanda Myrtle Kraus (Casebolt). He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Arnold Kraus, who died in 2019. John is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Fannie Robbins Kraus and a son, Nathan Kendall Kraus.

John attended Arlington High School. &nbsp;He obtained his teaching degree and in 1964, became an airline pilot for Trans World Airlines. &nbsp;After traveling the world, John soon discovered sailing the oceans and obtained his captain’s license for a 100-ton sailing vessel, The Schooner Western Union. &nbsp;The ship became John’s home, passion and driving force, for the next 10 years. &nbsp;After obtaining registration for the Schooner Western Union on the National Register of Historic Places, John sold the Schooner.&nbsp;

His passion for restorations then turned towards old homes in the mid-Atlantic states, along with historic aircraft. John owned several airplanes that he restored, with a Belgium Bi-plane, a Stampe as his favorite. &nbsp; In retirement, John restored aircraft and aircraft engines for planes in the United States and Europe. In addition, he was a musician and could be seen performing on stages throughout the United States over several decades.&nbsp;

John achieved success. He lived well, laughed readily and loved much. He enjoyed the trust of good women, the respect of intelligent men, and the love of little children. John filled his niche and accomplished his task. He left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved flower, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul. John never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it. He always looked for the best in others and in return, gave them the best he had. John’s life was an inspiration to many and his memory a comfort.

Upon John’s death, he dedicated his body to science. His remains will be inurned at the Arlington City Cemetery, Kansas by his immediate family, at a later date.

Patricia “Pat” Flickinger, 85, of Hutchinson, died December 17, 2024, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born October 8, 1939, in Hutchinson, to John and Oma (Leach) Barrett.

Pat graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957. On April 25, 1959, she married Clyde A. Flickinger in Hutchinson at her family home. They shared nearly 53 years of marriage before his death on April 11, 2012.

She loved sharing life and work on the farm with Clyde and their four boys. She learned to show her love of family with food making meals where no one went hungry; in fact, EVERYONE went home with leftovers. She enjoyed keeping her family smiling with her joyful spirit and a love of playing games.&nbsp;

Pat expressed her faith by being involved in the Ladies Aid at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church where she was a member for many years. She was an avid thrifter and in retirement combined her faith and passion for thrifting into an act of service by becoming a member of the board of directors for Hutchinson Etcetera Shop. In addition, she was a member of the Medford EHU ladies’ group. Pat loved to sew and always had a quilt and a multitude of sewing projects in the works. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading.&nbsp;

Pat is survived by: sons, Bart Flickinger (Kris Ehling) of Wichita, Troy (Kristy) Flickinger of Hutchinson, Kyle (Lesa) Flickinger of Sterling, and Chris (Dana) Flickinger of Wichita; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Clyde Flickinger; and three siblings.&nbsp;

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Clark Comley officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling Community Cemetery.&nbsp;

Patricia “Pat” Flickinger |1939-2024|

Marilyn D. Dunsworth, 82, died December 16, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1942, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hutchinson, to Burt and Mary Ann (Rose) Frye.&nbsp;

Marilyn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960. She spent many years working at Hutchinson Community College in various positions, but really loved her position in the recreation department where she worked until retiring at age 70. Marilyn took her responsibilities seriously and was a mother figure to the students who often dropped by just to visit or ask for advice. She was an amazing artist and used her talent to teach others through craft clubs and at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center. She often entered her work in the State Fair, earning many blue ribbons. Marilyn loved riding horses and barrel racing and was a member of a saddle club for many years. Marilyn participated in many Bunco clubs and was a member of First Christian Church, Hutchinson. &nbsp;

After dating for three short months, she married the love of her life, Stephen L “Steve” Dunsworth on April 13, 1968, in Hutchinson. For over 56 years, they shared their days together never spending too much time apart. She and Steve treasured going on trips with family to Colorado, Shell Knob, MO, and Lake Taneycomo. In the early years of their marriage, she enjoyed cheering on Steve and others who drove his race cars. Marilyn is survived by: husband, Steve Dunsworth of Hutchinson; daughters Donisa Hughes (Joe) of West Virginia, Stephanie Covington of Lawrence; grandkids Richard Doss (Connie), Nathan Hamilton (Amanda), Jason McKown (Traci), Jennifer Cross (Lloyd), Erin Langley (Matthew), Joey McKown (Lacey), Ben Hughes (Bailey), Drew Covington, Holly Covington, and 18 great grandchildren.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Debbie Dunsworth (daughter), Darcy Wilson (daughter).&nbsp;

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2024, at First Christian Church, 15 E. 5th St., Hutchinson, with Pastor Les Wedel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, at Elliott Mortuary. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.

She was born May 18, 1942, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Hutchinson, to Burt and Mary Ann (Rose) Frye.&nbsp;Marilyn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960. She spent many years working at Hutchinson Community College in various positions, but really loved her position in the recreation department where she worked until retiring at age 70. Marilyn took her responsibilities seriously and was a mother figure to the students who often dropped by just to visit or ask for advice. She was an amazing artist and used her talent to teach others through craft clubs and at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center. She often entered her work in the State Fair, earning many blue ribbons. Marilyn loved riding horses and barrel racing and was a member of a saddle club for many years. Marilyn participated in many Bunco clubs and was a member of First Christian Church, Hutchinson. &nbsp;After dating for three short months, she married the love of her life, Stephen L “Steve” Dunsworth on April 13, 1968, in Hutchinson. For over 56 years, they shared their days together never spending too much time apart. She and Steve treasured going on trips with family to Colorado, Shell Knob, MO, and Lake Taneycomo. In the early years of their marriage, she enjoyed cheering on Steve and others who drove his race cars. Patrick James Linton, 58, loving husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born September 7, 1966 in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Merle Eugene and Carol Louise (Bushman) Linton.

Patrick attended Sterling High School where he graduated in 1984. After high-school, he went on to Western Illinois University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. During high-school, he began his radio career at WJVM in Sterling, Illinois.

As a young adult, Pat marched with the Geneseo Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, where he played the baritone. This experience is where a lifetime love of travel began for Pat.

Pat continued his radio career at WJVQ, Macomb, Illinois, KRDI in Decorah, Iowa, and at WYGC in Gainesville, Florida, where he then met and married, Tracy Wilkinson, in 1996. After their marriage, they moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked at KYQQ as a morning show host and later KFDI. In 2000, his oldest daughter, Allison, was born. After winning a CMA Award, as part of the Cornbread Morning Show, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to continue his career at WIL, where he won his second CMA Award. In 2006, his youngest daughter, Abigail, was born.

In 2012, Pat returned to Wichita and worked at Connoisseur Media, where he was a morning show host. In 2017, Pat began working as a operations manager/morning show host with Eagle Media in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Pat enjoyed trips in his RV, affectionately named Coach, and his truck, Big Brutus. He had a passion for photography, where he was always behind the camera, where he proudly loved collecting videos and photos of his family. Pat was an avid Florida Gators, St. Louis Cardinals, and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Most of all, his biggest passion was supporting his daughters' musical endeavors from marching band to youth symphony.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Merle and Carol Linton.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 28 years, Tracy; his children, Allison (Kaleb) McQuillan and Abigail Linton; his brothers, Gary (Sandy) Linton and Timothy Linton; as well as the family dog, Max; and the family cats, Quinn and Fish.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.

Roberta D. “Dixie” Cody, 92, formerly of Bartlesville, OK, passed away peacefully, December 15, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Arlington, KS. She was born February 7, 1932, in Ames, IA, to Loren D. and Lillian (Osgood) Buttolph.

On August 8, 1952, she married Robert M. “Bob” Cody, in Los Angeles, CA. They shared over 66 years of marriage prior to his death on October 18, 2018.&nbsp;

Dixie and her family moved often due to her father’s military service when she was young. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1949 and from the University of Cincinnati in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. During the 1980’s, Bob’s career with Phillips 66, brought them to Norway for six years. In that time Dixie learned to read Norwegian fluently and passably speak it. Those years offered many new experiences and opportunities through traveling. Once the couple returned to the United States they spent the next 32 years in Bartlesville, OK. Dixie worked as the director of volunteers for R.S.V.P. She enjoyed volunteering and helping others. Dixie volunteered for the Red Cross, immunization clinics, mother and children’s classes, clown ministry and being a tour guide. She liked reading historical fiction books and mystery novels. Dixie had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and adventure. She believed that every person had an interesting story.

Dixie is survived by: children; Ron Cody of Overland Park, KS, Rhonda (Nathan) Stillwell of Arlington, KS and Randy (Kay) Cody of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Dan (Sharon) Buttolph of Lindale, TX.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Bob Cody; daughter, Roberta “Robbi” Cody; brother, Dick Buttolph, sister, Diane Creasey; and daughter-in-law, Donna Jean Cody.

Donna Jean Stewart, 78, died December 17, 2024, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born September 27, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Paul Carlton and Thelma Bernadine (Mackey) Buskirk, Jr.

Donna graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964. &nbsp;For 34 years, she sold Avon and was known throughout Hutchinson as the “Avon Lady”. &nbsp;In addition, she enjoyed playing board games, (especially Yahtzee), Bingo, and the piano. Donna was an avid Elvis Presley fan, but was an even larger fan of her family. &nbsp;She always put her family first, especially her grandchildren. &nbsp;Donna was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

On December 12, 1964, she married Jimmie Ray Stewart, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He died June 7, 1995.

Donna is survived by: &nbsp;son, Wesley Stewart (Shanan); daughter, Marsha Cooper (Steve), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Caleb Stewart (Lacie), Bailee Stewart, Johnathon Carson, Heather Kortus (Adam), and Jasmine Seibering; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Buskirk (Ronnie).
