Phyllis Jean Richardson, 91, passed away May 19, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler, KS. &nbsp;She was born March 22, 1932, in McPherson, KS, to Paul W. Emmitt and Edna (Sidwell) Emmitt.

Phyllis was a graduate of Nickerson High School, Nickerson, KS, and Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;She was employed by Dillon Stores Inc. and then went to work at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, formerly Kansas State Industrial Reformatory, as a secretary in the Education Department. &nbsp;Phyllis was a member of the Cameo Club, and an active member of the Nickerson United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s organization of the church.

She was a member of the Senior Citizens Group in Nickerson, KS, and was instrumental in keeping the group going. &nbsp;Phyllis was involved in the decorating of the town for the various seasons and holidays. She was the caretaker for the flowers that were planted along Main Street. &nbsp;Phyllis would pull a little red wagon filled with jugs of water down the street to water the flowers. &nbsp;She was at her best when it came to organizing funeral dinners. &nbsp;Every detail, even down to lace tablecloths, had to be perfect. &nbsp;Phyllis enjoyed attending Hutchinson Community College ballgames and volleyball games in Omaha, NE.

Phyllis loved her children and grandchildren. &nbsp;She enjoyed following all their sports, school programs, and family events. &nbsp;Phyllis and David had no problem taking trips out-of-town, and at times, out-of-state for ballgames. &nbsp;Her grandchildren were all very special to her and they all have stories to tell.

&nbsp;On December 21, 1952, Phyllis married David Mark Richardson, in Nickerson, KS. &nbsp;They shared over 63 years of marriage, prior to his death on June 17, 2016.

Phyllis is survived by: &nbsp;her children, Les (Joni) Richardson of Hutchinson, KS, Barb Nichols of Lousiville, KY, and Robert Richardson of Goodland, KS; grandchildren, Landis (Ana) Richardson, Tyson (Andrea) Richardson, Micah VanNover, Meaghan (Blake) Briscoe, Lynsey (Kevin) Reynolds, Reid (Amber) Nichols, and Collin Nichols; and great-grandchildren, Quinn Richardson, Connor Richardson, Lyra Arriga, Austin Arriga, David Richardson, Elsie VanNover, Eldon VanNover, Esmay VanNover, Graham Briscoe, Olivia Briscoe, Benjamin Briscoe, Clara Reynolds, Cace Reynolds, Carson Reynolds, Cora Reynolds, and Colton Turney.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband; and brother, Paul Emmitt.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., at the Nickerson United Methodist Church, 8200 N. William ‘Bill’ Allen Garber, 88, died June 1, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born May 4, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Leo and Ellen Matilda (Gillock) Garber.

Bill graduated from Buhler High School in 1953. He worked for various companies, such as, Morton Salt and Stroberg Equipment Company. In addition, he was a Captain at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, owned and operated Bob Inn Tavern in Nickerson.

Bill enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, playing dominoes, pool and snooker. He was part of Romeo Riders Motorcycle Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out) and he and his friends rode their motorcycles to small towns to eat and drink coffee at various restaurants, Spangles being one of them.

On October 1955, he married Nina Rose Stoughton, in Buhler. They shared almost 68 years of marriage.

William is survived by: his wife, Nina Garber of Hutchinson; children, Nina Jarmer of Hutchinson and William ‘Bill’ (Kelly) Garber of Manhattan; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; brother, Dale Garber; and infant sister, Oma Jean Garber.

Bill was a simple man and per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

Russell G. Johnston, 70, of Hutchinson, died May 29, 2023 at Via Christi Village Ridge, Wichita, KS. He was born July 8, 1952 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Hutchinson, KS to Alva LeRoy Johnston and Christina Dora (Wakefield) Johnston.

Russell graduated from Haven High in 1970. He earned his Master Electrical License. He founded Applied Computer Services, Inc. in 1983 and continued managing the business up until shortly before his death. He was a member of St. Teresea Catholic Church, the Reno County Polio Support Group, and Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce. He mentored various groups and individuals.

Russell is survived by his sister Mary (Terry) McCoy of Hutchinson; nieces, Julie Kitston, Susan (Mark) Mattison, both of Hutchinson; and nephews, Brian (Teresa) Rife of Sterling, Christopher (Kara) Hartle and Scott McCoy, both of Hutchinson, Bryon McCoy of Wichita, Ross (Becca) McCoy of Wethersfield, CT. Russell was so proud and grateful for his ‘work’ family, Kevin Stevens, Loren Johnson, Debie Cape, Jeff Smith, and Tammy Harmony.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Alice Jeanette (Johnston) Hartle and Virgina Lee (Johnston) Rife.

She was born on June 21, 1950, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Marvin and Ruby (Scheffler) Church.

Hazel Edith Brawner, 85, passed away on May 31, 2023 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born December 23, 1937 in Oregon County, MO, the daughter of Henry J. A. and Lois I. (Mobley) Smith.

Hazel married Delmar Brawner on June 15, 1955 in Newkirk, OK. They were married 57 years before he passed away in 2012. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her free time crocheting. Hazel was a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church, Hutchinson.

Survivors include her three children, Ricky Brawner, Tammy (John) Gilley, and Norma Brawner; seven grandchildren, Joy Karns, Jennifer Huskey, Angela Ord, Serena Smith, Regina Vanagas, Anthony Brawner, and Denice Gilliland; one sister, Ruth Holloway; two brothers, Jim Smith, and Loyd Smith; 21 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Jacqueline E. “Jackie” Goldstein, 75, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at her home in McPherson.&nbsp; Formerly of Dunedin, FL, Jackie has lived in McPherson from 1965 to 1987 and from 2014 to present.&nbsp; Jackie worked at Farmer’s Alliance as a computer operator.

Jackie was born February 22, 1948, in Paterson, New Jersey, the daughter of Edward W. and Grace R. (Holmes) Goldstein.&nbsp; She graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, and in 1965, came to McPherson, KS to attend McPherson College.&nbsp; In 1987, she returned to Florida to care for her mother for 17 years.&nbsp; Having so many Kansas friends brought her back to McPherson in 2014.

Jackie always looked forward to her summers in Maine, boating, fishing, and spending time with friends.&nbsp; She was a member of the Weary Club in Norway, Maine.&nbsp;

She is survived by a niece, Jennifer Goldstein Frank of Centennial, CO ; a great-niece, Eva Lynn Frank of Centennial, CO, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Goldstein of Centennial, CO, and numerous friends, who Jackie considered to be her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Seth Goldstein.

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 8, at the American Legion Post #24 in McPherson.

Ann Hays, 100, of Hutchinson, died May 29, 2023, two days shy of her 101st birthday, at Legends of Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born Esther Ann Smith in Spearman, TX, on May 31, 1922, to Miles M. and Esther M. (Sargent) Smith.&nbsp;

Ann graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1938 and soon after graduated from Adela Hale Business College. &nbsp;After graduation she worked at F.E. Perry Lumber Company before beginning her career with Dillon &amp; Sons, she soon became the Personal Secretary to Paul Dillon retiring after 39 years. &nbsp;

Ann was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ann enjoyed needlepoint, embroidering, cooking and baking but had a very special talent and unique love for chip carving on wood.

On June 5, 1940, she married Edward D. Hays, in Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 67 years of marriage before his passing on December 19, 2007.

Ann is survived by: daughter, Sherry Barnhart; son, Steve (Robbie) Hays; grandchildren, Rhonda (Gary) Kretzer; Scott (Shari) Barnhart; Travis Hays; Katie (Luke) Bryan; and eight great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Ann is preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband, Edward D. Hays; son-in-law, Ron Barnhart; and sisters, Etha McCaskey and Fern Fredrick.&nbsp;

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Steve Hodgson and Bishop Jason Hatch presiding. &nbsp;Her burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.&nbsp;

(Sargent) Smith.&nbsp;Ann graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1938 and soon after graduated from Adela Hale Business College. &nbsp;After graduation she worked at F.E. Perry Lumber Company before beginning her career with Dillon &amp; Sons, she soon became the Personal Secretary to Paul Dillon retiring after 39 years. &nbsp;Ann was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ann enjoyed needlepoint, embroidering, cooking and baking but had a very special talent and unique love for chip carving on wood.On June 5, 1940, she married Edward D. Hays, in Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 67 years of marriage before his passing on December 19, 2007.Ann is survived by: daughter, Sherry Barnhart; son, Steve (Robbie) Hays; grandchildren, Rhonda (Gary) Kretzer; Scott (Shari) Barnhart; Travis Hays; Katie (Luke) Bryan; and eight great-grandchildren.&nbsp;Ann is preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband, Edward D. (Mobley) Smith. She married Delmar Brawner on June 15, 1955 in Newkirk, OK. Sally Ann Foster, 89, died May 30, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born January 19, 1934, in Hutchinson, to Goldwin and Cloma (Dixon) Smith.

Sally graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952 and attended Hutchinson Community College. She was a homemaker and also worked for four years at Gunn Music Company. Sally was a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Hutchinson. She enjoyed reading, music, and watching Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones.

On July 25, 1954, Sally married George A. Foster, in Hutchinson. They shared 57 years of marriage before his passing on December 3, 2011.

She is survived by: sons, Frank Foster (Lorna), Hutchinson, Dan Foster (Penny), Hamilton, Texas, Steve Foster (Helen), Haven; daughter, Kathy Allen (Mike), Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral service will be 10 am Monday, June 5, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Mike L. Unruh, 52, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born September 20, 1970 in Newton, Kansas, the son of Robert Lee and Violet Ruth (Schmidt) Unruh.

Mike was united in marriage to Sheryl L. Wenger on June 3, 1990 at rural, Halstead. She survives of the home.

He was a member of Garden View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, rural Halstead.

Mike was the owner and operator of Unruh Excavating, LLC in Moundridge, Kansas and was currently the chairman of the Board of Directors for Mercy Hospital.

Other survivors include his three daughters, Alexcia (Micah) Unruh of Galva, Brooke (Ricki) Penner of Bredenbury, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Chelsea Unruh of Moundridge; granddaughter, Isabelle Unruh; his mother, Violet Unruh of Murray, Kentucky; brother, Phil (Katrina) Unruh, Murray, KY; sisters, Cindy (Kendall) Koehn, Murray, KY, and Trish (Abe) Leonard, Sequim, Washington; father and mother-in-law, Dale and Luerla Wenger, Burrton, KS.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert.

Deb attended Sterling High School and later graduated from Regis University with her Bachelor’s of Administration Management. She worked as a Product Manager. Deb was on the Dean’s Summer List of 2008 for Regis University and the Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She enjoyed doing crafts, including scrapbooking, shadow boxes, and card making.

On May 27, 1978, Deb married Donald Eugene Byers, in Hays, KS. They shared 45 years of marriage together.

She is survived by: husband, Don Byers, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Kirsta Byers (Jim McCluskie), Huntington Beach, California; son, Aaron Byers (Lisa), Rural Retreat, Virginia; grandson, Maliek Miller, Huntington Beach, California; bonus grandchildren; Kassandra McCluskie, Seattle, Washington, Lorielle McCluskie, Portland, Oregon, and Connor Audette, Tempe, Arizona; sisters, Donna Holland (Wendell), New Blaine, Arkansas, Denise Klima (Jim), Ellinwood, KS, Dian Long (Randy), Claflin, KS; sister-in-law, Deb Graber, Kingman, KS; brother-in-law, Mike Byers, Kingman, KS; mother-in-law, Naomi Shuchman, Kingman, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley J. Cuckler, 93, died May 29, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born June 14, 1929, in Chadron, NE, to Walter and Amanda (Martens) Dobbins.

Shirley graduated from Chadron High School, Chadron, NE. &nbsp;She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, and fishing at the lake. &nbsp;Shirley was a talented seamstress, even making bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. &nbsp;After her husband, Boyd retired, they wintered in Mission, TX, where Shirley learned the game of golf. &nbsp;She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On September 18, 1949, she married Boyd A. Cuckler, in Chadron, NE. &nbsp;He died March 29, 2014, after they shared almost 65 years of marriage.

Shirley is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Deborah Siebert (Richard) of Hutchinson, and Cheryl Leigh Odell (Chris Hamlin) of Russell; grandchildren, Danae Wallace-Gates (Darrell) of Overland Park, Shawn Dressman, and Justin Whitt (Michelle) both of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Rylee, Reis, Brayden, Jocelyn, Brooklyn, Ava, and Jonah; brother, Clayton Dobbins of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arland W. Richards, 99, died May 27, 2023, at Legend of Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born October 12, 1923, in Salina, to Earl L. and Blenda M. (Ingemanson) Richards.&nbsp;

Arland graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1941, served in the United States Army from 1943-1946, and received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1950. He was the former owner of Hutchinson Industrial Supply. &nbsp;Arland was known for his spunky and outgoing personality. &nbsp;He enjoyed coffee at McDonald’s with his coffee group, and cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats. &nbsp;One of the many highlights during his life was being invited to breakfast on Veteran’s Day at the White House by First Lady, Laura Bush. &nbsp;Arland had served in the same battalion as Laura’s father.

On June 12, 1958, he married Cora Margaret “Marge (Crotts) McClelland, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;She died December 4, 2000, after sharing over 42 years of marriage together.

Arland is survived by: &nbsp;sons, Richard Crotts of Papua New Guinea, and Ken McClelland (Soni) of Hutchinson; close family friends, Susan and Randy Puls of Hutchinson; four grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in in death by: &nbsp;his parents; daughter, Janice Sargent; and a sister, Melva Richards.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Darlow, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. &nbsp;Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. &nbsp;Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Raymond (Ray) Medric Crannell passed away May 26, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Harlo &amp; Cora Crannell, his life partner Nancy Koehn, sisters Janet Bowersox and Sharon Hein. 

He is survived by his sister Carol Rogers of Colorado Springs, sons Timothy (Tim) Crannell of Newton, Ks. &nbsp;Anothony (Tony) Crannell of Bellville, Ks. and his daughter Erica Rowson of Salina, Ks. Grandchildren Jeffrey, April, Damon, Blaze, Benjamin, Meadow and Rayne. Many nieces and nephews.

Jack A. Hartle, 86, of Hutchinson, died May 28, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born April 9, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Kale Floyd and Martha Maxine (Stahl) Hartle.

Jack graduated from Lyons High School in 1955, and Kansas State University in 1971, Manhattan, with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News and Communications. He was the News Director for Eagle Radio, Great Bend.

Jack was the previous owner of Jack’s Café, in Lyons.

Jack was a huge college football fan, K-State, in particular. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and horseback riding when he was younger. Jack enjoyed his job as a News Director and was even in the Radio Broadcaster Hall of Fame. He also spent his time remodeling houses. Jack had an odd sense of humor, but he was very funny.

He was a loving a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

On August 10, 1985, he married Alice Jeanette Johnston, in McPherson. They shared over 36 years of marriage before her passing on May 20, 2022.

Jack is survived by: sons, Alan (Valorie) Hartle, The Villages, FL, and Jerod (Melissa) Hartle, Hutchinson; step-daughters, Julie Kitston and Susan (Mark) Mattison, both of Hutchinson; adopted son, Christopher (Kara) Hartle, Hutchinson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife; parents; son, Gregory Hartle; and step-daughter, Glenna Mitchell.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Lyons Municipal Cemetery at a later date.

Don Eugene Graebner, 84, of Hutchinson, died May 27, 2023, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born November 28, 1938, on the family farm near Macksville, to Jim and Vaughan (Miles) Graebner.

Don graduated from high school in Clayton, NM. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. Don worked for many years at Cessna/Eaton, retiring as a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, and collecting John Deere miniatures. Don was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

He married Kathleen L. Paullin. She died December 3, 2007.

Don is survived by: his son, Troy Graebner (Michelle) of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Tiffanie Graebner of Hutchinson, Maegan Graebner of Columbia, MO, Averi Weir of Wichita Falls, TX, Matthew Weir of Azusa, CA; great-grandson, Zayden Graebner; brother, Doug Graebner (Margaret) of Hutchinson; sister, Roberta Britner (Richard) of Aurora, CO; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Travis; brothers, Norman, Noel, Leland; and sister, Ethel Mae Anderson.

Roberta A. (McDaniel) Leiker, 91, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2023 at home at Catholic Care Center, Wichita, KS. She and her twin brother Robert were born Feb. 2, 1932 in Scott County, KS to Daisy Mae (Cook) and Anson Robert McDaniel. While the birth certificate listed Feb. 2, their mother Daisy always said they were born Feb. 1.

Roberta attended the Liberty County Grade School in Logan County and graduated from Scott City High School in 1950. She worked at the Wallace Café and the Eskimo in high school. Roberta also worked for Duckwalls and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. After moving to McPherson, she worked at Anthonys and Calhoun before retiring from Sterling Drug.

She married Peter C. Leiker on Aug. 1, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Scott City, KS. They have three children, David, Donna and Diane.

Roberta was preceded in death by parents Anson Robert McDaniel and Daisy Mae (Cook) McDaniel, her brothers Robert and Arlo McDaniel, sisters Melva Rose, Virgie Redding, Marjorie McDaniel, and Lucille Barraza, and twin great granddaughters Celeste and Marie Rondeau.

She is survived by her husband, Peter C. Leiker; children, David M. (Mary) Leiker, Donna M. (Greg) Spachek, and Diane M. Charles Michael Welch was born on June 22, 1940, in Denver, CO, the son of Charles Hadley and Alfretta “Freda” Elizabeth (White) Welch.&nbsp;

Mike served in the United States Air Force and was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: his daughter, Sonia Luttig of McPherson, KS; son, David Welch of Windom, KS; brother, Kerry David Welch (Pam) of Murray, KY; sister, Patty Kay Welch of Kansas City, MO; two granddaughters, Monica Luttig of McPherson, KS and LaToya Jones (Kris) of Kennewick, WA; seven great-grandchildren, Madden, MaKyna, Mercede, Kynzlie, Madison, Kason, &amp; Morgan; many extended family and friends, including all those in his cycling community.

Robert Jay Bock, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born May 5, 1937 in Manhattan, KS to Elmer Harvey and Christine Elaine (Ferguson) Bock.

Robert attended Emporia High School and graduated in 1955. &nbsp;In 1957, he met and married Marjorie Phillips. They later divorced in 1975. &nbsp;Robert worked as a sales representative for many years in the agriculture industry. He was a long time member of the Moose Lodge in Hutchinson, and was an elder at Park Place Christian Church. In 1990, Robert married Eva Galaviz, and she sadly passed away in 2016. &nbsp;On May 15, 2021, at the peak of COVID, he married Geri Vann. They spent two years together before she passed away in 2022.

Robert is also preceded by his parents, Elmer and Christine Bock; two daughters, Judy and Jody Bock; son, Edward Bock; sister, Doris Hoffman; two brothers, Jim and John Bock; and step-son, Richard “Rick” Hunt.

He is survived by three sons, Bradley (Denise) Bock of Salina, KS, Gary (Joyce) Bock of Manor, TX, and Christopher (Kathy) Bock of Greenville, SC; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bock-Ramskill; step-children, Debra, Patrick, Mark, and Jody Hunt; two sisters, Alice Goodwin and Nancy Jacob; four grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Dylan Mueller, and Skylar Bock; and four great grandchildren, Noah, Myleigh, Brooklyn, and Zady, and Holden Muller.

Robert Jay Bock |1937-2023|

Lavonne Marie (Zimmerman) Farney, 91, died May 26, 2023, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;She was born January 17, 1932, the daughter of John A. and Edna Edith (Mosier) Zimmerman, in Reno County near Plevna, KS.

Lavonne graduated from Nickerson High School in 1949, and in 1953, she received a Bachelor’s degree from Sterling College. &nbsp;After graduation, she taught school in Dighton, KS, Flanagan, IL, Nickerson High School, and retired after teaching in the Hutchinson public schools.

She was a member of Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Christian Educators Association, Retired Teachers of Reno County, and Questers.

On August 14, 1955, Lavonne married Bob Farney. &nbsp;They lived on a farm southwest of Sterling, KS, where they worked the land together and served in the community and church. &nbsp;They spent four years (1961-1965) at Salem Children’s Home near Flanagan, IL, with their children, Jack, Tyler, and Gayle, helping care for needy children before returning back to their farm.

Lavonne is survived by: &nbsp;her husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Farney of South Hutchinson, KS; sister, Greta Zimmerman of South Hutchinson, KS; children, Jack (Kay) Farney of Sterling, KS, and Gayle (Rick) Fehr of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law, Keva Farney of North Newton, KS; grandchildren, Garet (Jaymelynn) Farney of Sterling, KS, Logan (Megan) Farney of Sterling, KS, Chelsi (Zack) Marshall of Eureka, KS, Wyatt (Laurel) Farney of Elbing, KS, Yance (Elaine) Farney of Kechi, KS, Rob (Abby) Fehr of Omaha, NE, and Nate (Laura) Fehr of Bentonville, AR; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; brothers, Wendell Zimmerman and Don Zimmerman; sister, Ruth Eagleson; son, Tyler Farney; and granddaughter, Marshay.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, 3017 N. Sterling Road, Sterling, KS, with Pastor Phil Carroll officiating. &nbsp;Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Maxine O’Neill passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 27th 2023, she was 77 years old. Maxine lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her enormous capacity to love and her kind and grateful spirit. Maxine loved traveling, which included crisscrossing the country with her husband of 38 years, Lynn Auernheimer and their friends on their Harleys. She also found great joy in watching her grandchildren compete in sports and truly was their number one fan, never missing an event. She was a fierce competitor herself during card nights with her daughters and granddaughter and the laughter of those nights will be not be forgotten.

Maxine graduated from Newton High School in 1963. She enjoyed a 50+ year career with AGCO, formerly, Hesston Corporation. She took pride in her work and was driven by her desire to take care of her family. Maxine is survived by her husband, Lynn Auernheimer. Children; Kellie Griffith’s (Corey), Jamie Remsberg (Tad), Jadlyn O’Neill, Terri Shyrock (Jeffrey Loyd), Vickie Hiebert (Lynell) and Jack Lyon (Julie). Grandchildren; Kadin Remsberg (Kailey), Maggie Remsberg, Jonah Remsberg, Peyton O’Neill, Isabella O’Neill, Noah O’Neill, Brian Herbert (Amber), Ashley Nuss (James) and Kendall Hiebert. Great grandchildren; Ezra Hiebert, Charlie and Gracie Nuss. Siblings: Robert Whomans (Mary Ann), Marjorie Keazer, Rose Allison (Nick Kyle), Lee Allison, Howard Allison (Becky), Art Allison (Sandy). Maxine is proceeded in death by her parents DH and Florence Allison and brother Paul Whomans. Maxine bravely fought a nine year battle with cancer. Her strength and will to live was unmeasurable and she will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral Service will be graveside at Greenwood Cemetery Wednesday May 31st at 10:00 a.m.. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later day.
