David Allen Polley, 64, of Nickerson, died August 23, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. He was born March 21, 1959, in Georgetown, OH, to Grover and Barbara (Hauke) Polley.
David graduated from Ripley Union High School in Ripley, OH, in 1977. He served in the United States Army from 1977 until he retired at Fort Riley in 1997. David then moved to Hutchinson and worked as a guard at Hutchinson Correctional facility for a few years before taking a job at Capstone Logistics. He had worked there over 20 years and was working as Lead at the time of his death. David enjoyed being outdoors – hunting and fishing – and spending time with his grandchildren.
On September 21, 2018, he married Ginger L. Cota, in Nickerson. She survives.
Also surviving are: his stepchildren, Erin Cota (Kathrine) of Hutchinson, McKenzie Cota (Bobby Gonzales) of Nickerson, Carl Williams of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Michael Cota, Niko Gonzales; mother, Barbara Polley of Ripley, OH; brother, Daniel Polley of Ripley, OH; and many extended family members.
David was preceded in death by: his father; and brothers, Jerald, James, and Donald.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
