The Basketball Tournament (TBT) continued announcing on Tuesday its regional sites for the 2025 64-team, $1 million winner-take-all tournament.&nbsp;

Charles Koch Arena in Wichita will once again host a regional for the sixth time, while Municipal Arena in Kansas City will host for the first time.

The Wichita regional will take place July 18-22, while the Kansas City regional goes from July 19-23.

The AfterShocks, the Wichita State alumni team will be the host team once again in the Wichita region.

JHX Hoops (pronounced Jayhawks Hoops), the Kansas alumni team and Purple Reign, the KSU alumni team will join as hosts for the Kansas City region.

🏀 1A boys sub-state action this evening

Freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/mazza_antony_9347">Anthony Mazza</a>&nbsp;continued his torrid start to the 2025 season on Monday evening, hitting an extra-inning walk-off home run to lead the No. 21-ranked Hutchinson Community College baseball team over Des Moines Area Community College at Hobart-Detter Field.

Mazza's solo home run came with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as Hutchinson defeated DMACC 4-3 to complete a 2-0 day on Monday.

The Blue Dragons are now 7-0 for the second-straight year, while Des Moines Area fell to 5-6. The Dragons and Bears will play a pair of seven-inning games to close out the three-game series beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hobart-Detter Field.

Mazza hit the Blue Dragons' first walk-off home run since Blake Bradford hit a walk-off inside-the-park home run to defeat Colby 8-7 on April 21, 2024. The last out-of-the-park walk-off homer by a Blue Dragon was by Tyler DeLong on May 14, 2021 for an 11-10 win over Allen at Hobart-Detter Field.

The Blue Dragons had just two hits after the third inning and the Bears tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth on a solo home run by Jackson Manning. With bases empty and two out in the bottom of the eighth, Mazza hit a 2-2 pitch off Gage Miller over the right-field wall for the game-winning home run.

The Blue Dragon bullpen stepped up late in the game to keep the Bears from cashing on several threats.

<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/mccombs_noah_7a9n">Noah McCombs</a>&nbsp;gave up a leadoff double to Colin Driscoll in the sixth, but struck out the next three batters to strand the runner at second. DMACC loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh and McCombs got a strikeout and groundout to shortstop&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/stokes_taber_u8n0">Taber Stokes</a>&nbsp;to end that threat. Then in the top of the eighth against winning pitcher Collin Flores (1-0), the Bears got two baserunner via hit batsmen with one out, Florida got out of the inning with a called third strike and flyball to right field to end that threat.

The Dragons left 11 runners on bases, while Des Moines Area stranded 10.

Mazza had his sixth multi-hit game in seven games, going 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Mazza has started the season going 16 for 24 (.667) with eight RBIs.

The Dragons had a season-low seven hits.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/herrmann_jarrett_kvsa">Jarrett Herrmann</a>&nbsp;was 1 for 2 with a pair of RBIs. He had an RBI single in the first for a 1-0 Dragon lead. The Dragons took a 3-2 lead on the fourth when Herrmann was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, forcing home Mazza.

Five Blue Dragon pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts against the Bears. Starter&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/roehler_trenton_pudh">Trenton Roehler</a>&nbsp;had two strikeouts in one inning.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/rosser_lachlan_s3z7">Lachlan Rosser</a>&nbsp;had a season-high six strikeouts in three innings. McCombs had four strikeouts and Flores added one strikeout.

Des Moines Area, which defeated Highland 4-0 earlier on Monday, out-hit the Dragons 8-7.

The No. 21-ranked Hutchinson Community College baseball team scored nine runs in its first three innings and used that strong start against the Highland Scotties to roll to 6-0 to start the season on Monday afternoon at Hobart-Detter Field.
<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/allen_griffin_bmj4">Nick Glantz</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/fegen_scotty_n1yk">Scotty Fegen</a>&nbsp;had two RBIs each and four Blue Dragon pitchers combined for nine strikeouts as Hutchinson defeated Highland 10-5.
The Blue Dragons improved to 6-0 for the second-straight season. Highland lost its eighth game in a row and is now 1-9. Earlier in the day, Highland lost to Des Moines Area 4-0.
Hutchinson immediately jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Glantz hit a two-run double to right field, Jarrett Herman had an RBI groundout and Eli Duncan hit an RBI double for a 4-0 lead.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2024-25/bios/mazza_antony_9347">Anthony Mazza</a>&nbsp;scored an unearned run in the second on a passed ball for a 5-1 lead.
The Dragons struck for four more runs in the third. An unidentified team has proposed banning the tush push used so successfully by the Eagles

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — One NFL team is proposing an end to the tush push play the Philadelphia Eagles have used so successfully at the goal line and in short-yardage situations, including during their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. According to NFL Network and the Washington Post, league executive Troy Vincent said Monday that a team submitted a proposal to ban the play. Vincent didn't identify the team. The tush push is a modified quarterback sneak where two teammates behind Jalen Hurts push him forward to help him try to gain the yardage necessary for a first down or touchdown.

Cleveland Guardians owner Lawrence J. Dolan dies at 94

CLEVELAND (AP) — Lawrence J. Dolan, owner of Cleveland's Major League Baseball team since 2000, has died at age 94. The Cleveland Guardians said in a statement Monday that Dolan died Sunday night of natural causes. Dolan, a Cleveland native, bought the team from Richard Jacobs in 2000 for $320 million. The Dolan family is the longest-tenured ownership group in Cleveland franchise history. The franchise was known as the Cleveland Indians before changing its name to the Guardians after the 2021 season. Over the past 24 seasons, Cleveland has won seven American League Central Division titles, made nine postseason appearances and advanced to the 2016 World Series before losing to the Chicago Cubs.

NFL scouting combine features plenty of debate over top players at multiple positions

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The hopes of many NFL teams will start taking shape this week as the league's annual scouting combine begins in Indianapolis. As usual, there's plenty to debate. There doesn't appear to be a clear-cut No. 1 overall pick or a top quarterback yet. Scouts are still trying to determine whether Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter would be more productive as a shutdown cornerback, a playmaking receiver or both. Broncos assistant coach Michael Wilhoite arrested after being accused of punching a police officer

DENVER (AP) — An assistant coach for the Denver Broncos is facing a felony assault charge after being accused of punching a police officer in the face at Denver International Airport. Outside linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault on a police officer and booked into the Denver jail on Sunday, according to jail records. A judge set a $5,000 bond on Monday.

Galatasaray accuses Jose Mourinho of making racist comments after Turkish league game

ISTANBUL (AP) — Galatasaray plans to start criminal proceedings against Jose Mourinho and file complaints with soccer's governing body after accusing the Fenerbahce coach of making racist comments after a Turkish league game. The league leaders issued a statement after Monday's 0-0 draw with Fenerbahce announcing the action against Mourinho, the 62-year-old Portuguese coach who moved to Turkey from Roma last year after stints at high-profile clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. Mourinho was fined and suspended earlier in the season for a tirade against local match officials and the league. His comments this time after a game between the league's top two teams have sparked further criticism.

Wizards finally hold a team under 100 points, the last NBA team to do so this season

WASHINGTON (AP) — It took 57 games for the Washington Wizards to hold a team under 100 points this season. Marcus Smart and the Wizards held Brooklyn to 12 points in the fourth quarter of their 107-99 victory over the Nets on Monday night. Washington was the only team in the NBA that hadn't kept an opponent in double digits this season, but the Wizards finally did it in Smart's second game with them. Washington acquired Smart from Memphis in a recent trade. He was the 2022 NBA Defensive Player of the Year with Boston.

Morrissey, Scheifele rally Jets to 2-1 overtime win over Sharks for 10th straight

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Josh Morrissey scored the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and Mark Scheifele got the winner 1:33 into overtime as the Winnipeg Jets rallied to beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 for their franchise-record 10th straight win. Connor Hellebuyck finished with 17 saves for the Jets. William Eklund scored for San Jose, and Vitek Vanecek had 33 saves. Morrissey tied it with a slap shot from the top of the circle with 26 seconds left after Hellebuyck was pulled for his eighth of the season. In the extra period, Scheifele scored on a backhand shot for his 32nd. It was also the 329th of his career to become the Jets' franchise leader, passing Ilya Kovalchuk's mark set when the team was the Atlanta Thrashers.

Manaea is expected to miss start of Mets season with oblique strain. Madrigal has fractured shoulder

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) — New York Mets starter Sean Manaea is expected to begin the season on the injured list because of a right oblique strain. Manaea said Monday that he had been dealing with the issue since getting to spring training. He says it never got worse but never improved. The left-hander was the Mets' top starter last season and then got a $75 million, three-year contract. He had an MRI over the weekend and won't throw for two to three weeks. Manager Carlos Mendoza also said infielder Nick Madrigal fractured his non-throwing shoulder in a spring training game Sunday.

Dickinson made 13 of 18 shots and 6 of 10 free throws for the Jayhawks (19-9, 10-7 Big 12 Conference), who fell out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since Feb. 8, 2021, after losing three of five before arriving in Boulder. It was the 12th double-double this season for Dickinson.

KJ Adams had 15 points for Kansas and Rylan Griffen scored 10.

Bangot Dak had 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting to lead the Buffaloes (11-17, 2-15), who had won two of three following a 13-game losing streak. Julian Hammond III scored 11.

Kansas only trailed in the game for 20 seconds, but the Buffaloes wouldn't go away.

Dickinson had 15 points by halftime to help the Jayhawks take a 37-32 lead.

Colorado took its only lead when Hammond scored in the paint to make it 39-38 with 15:39 remaining. Dickinson answered with a jumper and a three-point play and Kansas never trailed again. The Blue Dragons, which won two games on Monday afternoon at Hobart-Detter Field over Highland and Des Moines Area, are now 7-0 for the second straight season.

They will host Des Moines Area for a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m. at Hobart-Detter Field.

The transfer from Hinds Community College becomes the first Wildcat to earn a weekly award this season.&nbsp;&nbsp; Sheffield (1-1), who was named the FloSports Player of the Game, tossed seven complete innings and allowed just one run in his first quality start in a K-State uniform. The Flowood, Mississippi product helped K-State complete the sweep of the College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field, all against opponents featured in at least one national poll and lead the Wildcats to a tournament title. The left-hander, who carried a two-hitter into the seventh, allowed just four runners to reach base and ended his second outing of the season with a season-high eight strikeouts. He scattered just five hits in seven innings of work with one walk. Sheffield struck out the side to set the tone early in the opening frame. He allowed a leadoff double in the second but quickly settled in and retired nine consecutive batters, helping the Wildcats build a lead and capture their eventual 10-2 victory over the Horned Frogs. K-State will return to Texas to compete in the Frisco Classic February 28-March 2, and face No. 2 LSU, Sam Houston and Nebraska. MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Aaronette Vonleh had a season-high 24 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season, and No. 17 Baylor beat No. 14 Kansas State 79-62 on Monday night for its season-long ninth straight victory.

Vonleh scored Baylor’s opening 10 points of the game and the Bears led 23-12 after starting the second quarter on a 7-2 run. Sarah Andrews made her third 3-pointer in the opening 15 minutes to go ahead 32-19. The Bears led 36-26 at halftime after making 6 of 16 3-pointers, compared to 1 of 8 for Kansas State.

Vonleh didn’t score again until the 4:27 mark of the third quarter to begin an 11-2 run that she capped for a 54-41 lead. She scored eight points in the frame.

Baylor (25-5, 15-2 Big 12) kept its hopes of an outright Big 12 championship alive, with a regular-season finale against No. 10 TCU scheduled for Sunday.

Kansas State (25-5, 13-4) lost its first home game of the season.

Aliyah Matharu and Yaya Felder each scored 15 points for Baylor, which had already locked up one of the four double byes for the Big 12 Tournament that starts next week. Jada Walker had 11 assists to go with eight points. Vonleh also blocked three shots.

Baylor starter Bella Fontleroy collided with Kansas State guard Serena Sundell at the eight-minute mark of the third quarter and was seen on the bench in fourth with ice on her right shoulder.

Sundell finished with 20 points for Kansas State. Kennedy Taylor added 16 points.

Three-point shooting was the difference, with Baylor going 11 of 28 while Kansas State was 2 of 15.

The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team fell three spots to No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Top 25 poll released on Monday afternoon.

The Blue Dragons are 24-3 overall, 18-3 in the Jayhawk Conference.&nbsp;

HutchCC has three games remaining in the regular season: home against Pratt on Wednesday, at Seward County on Saturday and home against No. 7 Dodge City on Wednesday, March 5.

🏀 HutchCC drops to No. 11 in NJCAA poll

LENEXA, Kan. — The Buhler High School swim &amp; dive team placed 8th at the class 5-1A state meet held at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center.

This is the highest finish the team has ever had at the state meet, per head coach Shane DeWeese.

The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Hudson DeWeese, Jonah Gardner, Payton Frees and Marshall Birney set a new school record and finished 5th with a time of 1:43.90.

DeWeese finished 8th in the 200 Yard IM, setting a school record with a time of 2:07.97 in the prelims. Isaak Neighbor finished 12th.

Scott Schweizer finished 11th in diving with a score of 279.65 in the finals.

The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of DeWeese, Gardner, Frees and Birney set a new school record and finished 6th with a time of 1:31.51.

Gardner finished 6th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, setting a new school record of 1:03.13.

The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of DeWeese, Gardner, Frees and Birney set a new school record of 3:26.57.

WICHITA, Kan. -&nbsp;For the second straight week Wichita State has the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week after&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/xavier-bell/9058">Xavier Bell</a>&nbsp;earned the weekly honor Monday afternoon.

Wichita State hadn't had a conference player of the week since 2021, but has put an end to that drought with a Shocker taking home the award for a second straight week. Bell recorded a pair of 20-point outings during Wichita State's 2-0 week with wins over Florida Atlantic and Tulane. He averaged 23.5 points and was nearly perfect at the free throw line, going 13-for-14 (92.9 percent). Bell has a team-high seven 20-point games this season and is averaging 16.5 points per game in conference play, good for 8th in the league. In conference games, Bell ranks second in free throws made (69) and free throw attempts (76) and fourth in free throw percentage (90.8 percent).

Bell and&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/corey-washington/9068">Corey Washington</a>&nbsp;are the first Shockers to take home player of the week honors in the same season since 2021 when Tyson Etienne (3x), Morris Udeze&nbsp;(1x) and Dexter Dennis (1x) did it.

Brown earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors by league coaches and the Associated Press (AP) after starting 11 games at tackle as a redshirt junior. &nbsp; Neal earned AP All-Big 12 Second Team honors after a record-breaking season in which he became Kansas' all-time leader in rushing yards (4,343), rushing touchdowns (49), total touchdowns (53) and 100-yard rushing games (20). Neal finished his senior season with 1,266 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns, both of which ranked in the top-five in the Big 12 Conference. &nbsp; Bryant and Dotson enter the 2025 NFL Combine after great showings at the East-West Shrine Bowl, which took place in Dallas, Texas on Jan. 30. Both Bryant and Dotson finished the 2024 season as All-Americans at Kansas, marking the first time in school history with two players earning All-America at cornerback in the same season. &nbsp; Bryant was named Second Team All-America by The Sporting News and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) after recording four interceptions to go along with 37 tackles, one forced fumble and seven pass breakups. Bryant's four interceptions tied for the third most in the Big 12, while he finished his career with 13 interceptions, tied for the third-most among cornerbacks nationally. PITTSBURG &ndash; The Hutchinson Community College men's track and field team made program history on Sunday by winning its first-ever Region 6 Indoor Championship team title.
Scoring in eight events on the final day of competition at Pittsburg State's Robert Plaster Center, the Blue Dragons won the men's team championship with 109 team points. Coffeyville was second with 93 points and Butler was third with 89 points.
The closest the Blue Dragons came to a Region 6 Indoor team title was a runner-up finish in 1986. The Dragons have had five third-place finishes in the indoor regional championships.
The Blue Dragons also captured their first Jayhawk West indoor team championship in program history with 158 points. Garden City was runner-up in the conference standings with 112 points and Barton was third with 118 points.
Over the weekend, the Blue Dragons earned four individual regional event championships and scored in 13 of 20 events. The Blue Dragons had multiple scorers in five events over the two-day meet &ndash; 5,000 meters, pole vault, long jump, 600 meters and 3,000 meters.
On Sunday, sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/legrand_leo_gfpl">Leo LeGrand</a>&nbsp;joined&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/williams_elisha_7e2c">Elisha Williams</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/spencer_jayce_3o70">Jayce Spencer</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/mangelson_farrin_7y5g">Farrin Mangelson</a>&nbsp;as individual regional champions with a Region 6 title in the 1,000 meters. His time of 2:31.80 earned his second national qualification this season. LeGrand won the Jayhawk West championship and was regional runner-up in the 800 meters earlier on Sunday with a time of 1:55.66.
The Blue Dragons scored a combined 14 points in the 3,000 meters on Sunday as sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/kiprotich_titus_hgfs">Titus Kiprotich</a>&nbsp;was Region 6 runner-up with a national qualifying time of 8:22.46. That time was the second-fastest time in Blue Dragon indoor history. Mangelson placed fourth in the 3,000 with a time of 8:25.01.&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/kogo_cornelius_hf87">Cornelius Kogo</a>&nbsp;was eighth in 8:33.08.
The Dragons scored 12 points in the 600-meter run on Sunday. Williams scored in his second individual events with a Region 6 runner-up finish in a time of 1:19.46, which also won the Jayhawk West individual title in the event.&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/lester_da-shawn_ptrw">Da'Shawn Lester</a>&nbsp;was fifth in 1:19.23. Both times were national qualifying marks.
Williams ran the third leg of Hutchinson's fifth-place 4x400 relay team.&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/telemaque_rickyle_kzmg">Rickyle Telemaque</a>, Lester, Williams and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/warren_d-antonio_9loc">D'Antonio Warren</a>&nbsp;combined for a time of 3:16.84.
Freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/parkinson_malique_53uy">Malique Parkinson</a>&nbsp;also earned a trip to nationals in the triple jump on Sunday. His best jump of 47-7 3/4 (14.41 meters) placed third in the region.
Sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/mtrack/2024-25/bios/bare_grady_0xoi">Grady Bare</a>&nbsp;placed sixth in the shot put at 47-1 (14.35 meters). Warren placed seventh in the 200-meter finals in a time of 21.80.
The Blue Dragons have qualified 18 individuals and one relay for the 2025 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 8-9 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.</div>

PITTSBURG &ndash; The Hutchinson Community College women's track and field team had their most successful Region 6 Indoor Championships in program history, completing a third-place finish on Sunday at Pittsburg State's Robert Plaster Center.
Led by a trio of shot putters and trio of distance runners, the Blue Dragons scored a program-high 85 points to place third in the region. Cloud County won the team title with 175.5 points and Barton was team-runner-up with 138.5 points. The Blue Dragons also finished third in the Jayhawk West standings with 112 points. Cloud County scored 212 points amongst Jayhawk West teams. Barton had 138.5 points.
On Sunday, the Blue Dragon scored a combined 17 points in the women's shot put with freshman Deisheline Mayer Scott finishing as regional runner-up with a best distance of 45 feet, 1 inches (13.74 meters). That was the second-best shot put in Blue Dragon women's indoor history and it was good enough to win the Jayhawk West championship on Sunday.
<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wtrack/2024-25/bios/montaque_janiel_88cd">Janiel Montaque</a>&nbsp;placed third in the shot put at 44-2 1/4 (13.47 meters) and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wtrack/2024-25/bios/green_aiyanna_nkel">Aiyanna Green</a>&nbsp;placed sixth at 37-11 (33.56 meters).
Those three Blue Dragon athletes scored a combined 25 points in the two throw events this weekend.
One day after breaking the Blue Dragons' 5,000-meter record, sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wtrack/2024-25/bios/picolet_jordan_z3sx">Jordyn Picolet</a>&nbsp;was a regional runner-up in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:36.91. Sophomore Laura Avila placed sixth in the 3,000 with a time of 11:00.16. Those two athletes scored a combined 23 points in the two distance defense.
The Blue Dragons earned their eighth NJCAA Indoor national qualifier on Sunday when sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wtrack/2024-25/bios/grantham_abigail_40ez">Abigail Grantham</a>&nbsp;finished third in the 1,000 meters with a PR time of 3:07.09, which surpassed the national qualifying standard. Grantham's time was also the fourth-best at 1,000 meters in program history. Grantham also finished third in the Mile run with a time of 5:21.21. Grantham scored a combined 13.5 points in her three events this weekend.
Freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wtrack/2024-25/bios/dawes_azariah_fovg">Azariah Dawes</a>&nbsp;was the other scorer for the Dragons on Day 2 with a fourth-place performance in the triple jump. Dawes' best jump on Sunday was 35-9 1/2 (10.91) meters. Dawes also finished fourth in the long jump on Saturday.
The Blue Dragons next compete at the NJCAA Indoor Championships on March 8-9 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.</div>
