HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Bo Aldridge scored 25 points and brought down 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, as the Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team beat Pratt, 65-59.

The Blue Dragons are now 18-10 overall, 14-8 in the Jayhawk Conference. Hutchinson maintains its fourth place position in the standings with two games to play.

Hutchinson and Pratt (11-17, 7-15) each struggled to shoot the basketball throughout the night. Hutchinson shot 27% from the floor, while Pratt was 35%. Pratt struggled from behind the arc, knocking down just 2 for 23 from deep, while the Blue Dragons hit eight 3-pointers.&nbsp;

The game featured nine ties and seven lead changes, as the largest lead in the game was six points, which came by Hutch in the first half. The largest lead for Pratt was four early in the game.&nbsp;

Ajiet Akot scored 21 poitns and brought down 15 rebounds to lead Pratt with his fifth double-double of the season.&nbsp;

🏀 Blue Dragon men overcome rough shooting night to beat Beavers

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Landon Forbes scored 18 points and had nine steals, as the No. 11 Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team cruised to an 85-44 win over Pratt on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons are now 25-3 overall, 19-3 in Jayhawk Conference play with two games left in the regular season.

HutchCC jumped out to a 9-0 run, before Pratt knocked down three straight 3-pointers to tie the game at nine. The Blue Dragons led 21-14 after the first quarter.

Hutchinson continued to build its lead as the game progressed, outscoring Pratt 23-9 in the second quarter and 24-10 in the third quarter.&nbsp;

Hailey Jackson, Jada Pleasant and Forbes each hit two 3-pointers a piece, part of 10 made 3-pointers by the Blue Dragons.&nbsp;

Hutchinson out-rebounded Pratt, 43-31, including 23 offensive boards. The Blue Dragons converted those to 17 second chance points.

The Blue Dragons finished with 12 turnovers, while the Beavers had 29. The 29 turnovers led to 42 Hutch points, while Pratt didn't score off of HutchCC turnovers.

Pratt (8-20, 3-19) was led by La'Kyra Johnson, who finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.&nbsp;

Pratt shot 29% from the floor, while Hutchinson shot 41%. Both teams were successful at the line, as Pratt knocked down 12 of 13 free throws, and Hutchinson 13 of 16.

🏀 HutchCC women dominate Pratt

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Keyshawn Hall scored 26 points and Darius Garland scored 23 points and UCF held on to beat Kansas State 80-76 on Wednesday night.

Moustapha Thaim just missed the most rare of triple-doubles scoring 11 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking eight shots. It was the second straight win for the Knights (15-13, 6-11 Big 12) following a seven-game losing streak.

Max Jones scored 22 points, reserve C.J. Jones scored 12 points, Brendan Hausen 11 and Dug McDaniel 10 for Kansas State (13-15, 7-10). The Wildcats now have lost four straight following a six-game win streak.

Hausen made a deep 3-pointer and then was fouled getting poked in the eye by UCF's Mikey Williams with 14 seconds to go. Hausen made the free throw to reduce the the Wildcats' deficit to 78-76. Hall sealed it with a pair of free throws with 11 seconds remaining. Hausen missed a deep 3 attempt on Kansas State's next possession.

Benny Williams' layup with 5:48 remaining put the Knights ahead 69-58 before the Wildcats countered with a 7-0 run over the next 1:30 to draw within 69-65.

UCF led for most of the first half until McDaniel's layup gave the Wildcats a 29-28 lead with 5:51 before halftime. UCF closed the first half with a 10-0 run and led 41-34.

The Wildcats host Colorado on Sunday. UCF travels to TCU on Saturday.

LAWRENCE, Kan.&nbsp;&ndash;&nbsp;Kansas alum and 2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland was named the seventh recipient of the PGA TOUR Courage Award, the organization announced Wednesday. In May 2023, there was a discovery on Woodland's brain of a lesion impacting the region that controls fear and anxiety. He underwent surgery in September 2023 and recovered at home in Delray Beach, Florida, with his wife, Gabby and their three children. Woodland returned to competition at the Sony Open in Hawaii in January 2024 and went on to secure three top-25 finishes in 26 starts that season, including a T9 at the Shriners Children's Open&mdash;his first top-10 since the diagnosis. "Jayhawk nation has been amazing from the start. KU's been a big part of my life forever but when I needed them the most, they were there for me and I'm forever grateful," Woodland said in a Kansas Athletics interview last year. Woodland, a Topeka native, turned professional in 2007 after graduating from KU. He joined the PGA TOUR in 2009 and has won four times, his most notable victory coming at the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. That same year, he was a member of the U.S. team at the Presidents Cup. One of the most decorated golfers in Kansas history, Woodland was a two-time All-Big 12 selection and won four collegiate tournaments while competing in Lawrence. "I do not know if they could have picked a more deserving person than Gary," said Kansas men's golf head coach&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://kuathletics.com/sports/mens-golf/roster/coaches/jamie-bermel/182" rel="smarttag" rev="182" data-airgap-id="71">Jamie Bermel</a></dfn>. Earning a huge come-from-behind victory on Saturday, the Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team has put itself in position for a top-four finish in the Jayhawk Conference and a Region 6 Tournament opening-round bye.
Now the Blue Dragons look secure one of top four places in the KJCCC with three games remaining in the regular season. That process starts Wednesday as the Blue Dragons (17-10, 13-8) play host to the Pratt Beavers (11-16, 7-14) at 7:30 p.m. in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Hutchinson and Butler are currently tied for fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference, but the Blue Dragons have the head-to-head tie-breaker with the Grizzlies after earning a season-series sweep of Butler on Saturday.
D.J. Dudley's go-ahead tip-in with 1.5 seconds to play in the second half capped a 14-point comeback for the Blue Dragons on a 64-63 victory at the Sports Arena. Bl Aldridge had his third double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hutchinson.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2024-25/bios/cannon_bobby_1l4l">Bobby Cannon</a>&nbsp;added 14 points and eight rebounds.
The comeback was the ninth second-half comeback of the season and fifth from a double-figure deficit.
The Blue Dragons will close out the regular season with Pratt, at Seward County on Saturday and a home game against Dodge City on March 5.
Pratt has a slim hope of finishing eighth in the KJCCC. Three games behind eighth place Fort Hays Tech Northwest with three to play, The Beavers need to win out and get plenty of help from other teams. The Beavers enter the game 3-7 in their last 10 games after losing a tight battle, 70-68, to Coffeyville on Saturday.
Hutchinson won the first meeting of the season over Pratt, defeating the Beavers 87-77 on January 11 in Pratt. The Dragons trailed 43-38 at halftime and outscored Pratt 49-34 in the second half.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/mbkb/2024-25/bios/arnold_khalil_9vae">Khalil Arnold</a>&nbsp;came off the bench to lead Hutchinson with 24 points. The final three games of the 2024-25 regular season are big for the No. 11-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team.
Matchups with Pratt, Seward County and No. 7 Dodge City have a conference title, potential No. 1 seed for the Region 6 Tournament and national tournament at-large aspirations riding on them.

The Blue Dragons (24-3, 18-3) will open the stretch run Wednesday with a battle against the Pratt Beaver (8-19, 3-18) at 5:30 p.m. in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

A 54-49 victory on Saturday over Butler kept the Blue Dragons just one game behind KJCCC leader Dodge City. That win also clinched an opening round Region 6 Tournament bye.
Haley Jackson had 13 points and 12 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season against Butler. The Blue Dragon defense also returned to from holding the Grizzlies to a season-low 49 points on 37.5 percent shooting.
Pratt had a two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday after an 84-53 loss to No. 16 Coffeyville at home on Saturday. The Beavers were held to just one point in the second quarter and 14 first-half points. La'Kyra Johnson had 26 points to lead the Beavers against Coffeyville.
The Beavers need one more win or one more loss by either Independence or Fort Hays Tech Northwest to secure a spot in the Region 6 Tournament. The Beavers have a two-game cushion over those teams for 11th place in the KJCCC. The Top 12 teams in the league advance to the Region 6 Tournament.
Hutchinson defeated Pratt 92-47 in the first meeting of the season on January 11 in Pratt. The Dragons led 52-12 at halftime. Jackson scored 10 points, while&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wbkb/2024-25/bios/forbes_landon_o30r">Landon Forbes</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wbkb/2024-25/bios/duncan_katie_ofa1">Katie Duncan</a>&nbsp;had 15 points each to lead the Dragons. Humphrey had 17 points to pace Pratt.</div>

🏀 Blue Dragons begin stretch run with Pratt at Sports Arena

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Buhler High School girls and boys bowling teams swept its class 4-1A regional titles on Wednesday at The Alley.

The Crusader girls dominated the regional, placing all six bowlers in the top 10, including Macy Miller, who claimed the individual title. 

Eva Goertz finished 3rd, Madalyn Bohringer 5th, Aubrey Ewing 6th, Cheyann Geesling 7th and Brayla Johnson 9th.

The Crusader boys were led by Julian Morrison, who finished 3rd. Malachi Willis was 5th, Rylan Klug 6th, Dominic Gaede 7th and Trevor Tustian 10th.&nbsp;

McPherson girls and boys teams each finished as regional runner-up.&nbsp;

The Bullpup girls were led by Brooke Henry with a 2nd place finish.

The McPherson boys were led by Brody Hutts with a runner-up finish.

WICHITA, Kan.&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2024-25 KCAC Men's Basketball all-conference teams and award winners.&nbsp;Student-athletes were selected for all awards&nbsp;by vote of the KCAC head men's basketball coaches. Oklahoma Wesleyan University took home the regular-season conference title for the fourth consecutive season, with a 19-3 record in conference play, as part of a 22-6 overall record. KJ Spiller of Friends University and Derrick Talton Jr. of Oklahoma Wesleyan were named KCAC Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Year by the coaches.&nbsp;Spiller ranks fifth in the KCAC in points per game (17.0) and is the Falcons' leading scorer, while being a very efficient shooter (50.9% from the field, 40.9% from three-point range, and 74.8% from the free-throw line). He also pulls down 5.9 rebounds per game and dishes out 2.3 assists per game. Talton is a force on both ends of the floor for the Eagles, scoring 12.6 points per game (second-leading scorer for the Eagles). while pulling down 4.3 rebounds per game and dishing out 5.1 assists per contest (first in the KCAC; 14th in the NAIA). On the defensive end, he average 2.9 steals per game (second in both the conference and the NAIA behind Bethany College's Devin Spencer) and pulls down 3.3 defensive rebounds per game as a guard. For his efforts on the defensive end, Talton was also named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year for the third season in a row. Najee Jones of Ottawa University was named the KCAC Men's Basketball Newcomer of the Year.&nbsp;Jones scored 16.4 points per game in the regular season (was the Braves' second-leading scorer), dished out 3.2 assists per game (ranks ninth in the KCAC), and pulled down six rebounds a game (rankes 15th in the KCAC). He led his squad in assists and was third on the team in rebounding. Julian Smith of Sterling College earned the KCAC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Year honor.&nbsp;Smith averaged 9.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and 0.8 assists per game. He was the Warriors' third-leading scorer, third on the team in rebounding, and tied for fifth on the team in assists.&nbsp; Phil McClintock of Friends University was named the KCAC Men's Basketball Coach of the Year by his peers.&nbsp;In only his second season at the helm of the Falcons' men's basketball program, McClintock orchestrated a turnaround from a team that went 9-18 overall and 6-16 in KCAC play a year ago, to a team that went 22-6 overall, 18-4 in the conference, and finished second in the regular season standings. PHOENIX (AP) — Diana Taurasi is retiring after 20 seasons, ending one of the greatest careers in women's basketball history. The WNBA's career scoring leader and a three-time league champion, Taurasi announced her retirement on Tuesday in an interview with Time magazine. The Phoenix Mercury — the only WNBA team she played for — also confirmed her decision. The 42-year-old won her sixth Olympic gold medal at the Paris Games and finishes her WNBA career with 10,646 points, nearly 3,000 more than second-place Tina Charles. She led UConn to three consecutive national titles and kept winning after the Mercury selected her No. 1 overall in the 2004 WNBA draft.

Alex Ovechkin scores 30 goals in a season for an NHL-record-extending 19th time in 20-year career

WASHINGTON (AP) — Alex Ovechkin has reached 30 goals in a season for the 19th time in his 20-year NHL career. That extends the record he broke last year with his 18th. The Washington Capitals captain got his latest milestone goal Tuesday night at home against the Calgary Flames. Scoring his 883rd career goal also puts Ovechkin 12 back of breaking Wayne Gretzky's mark of 894 that had long seemed unapproachable. Becoming just the fourth player in hockey history to score 30-plus goals at age 39 or older, Ovechkin is now on pace to pass Gretzky in early April long before the regular season is over.

Georgia fans show it's possible to be polite and still celebrate win over No. 3 Florida on the court

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia fans showed it's possible to storm the court for a postgame celebration — and to be polite at the same time. The Stegeman Coliseum public address announcer made repeated requests in the final minute of Georgia's 88-83 upset of No. 3 Florida to wait 90 seconds after the game and give the Gators and officials time to leave the court. The message, delivered during late timeouts, included the addendum that fans then would be welcome to celebrate on the court. Perhaps the biggest surprise was fans followed the instructions.

Ravens GM calls sexual misconduct allegations against Justin Tucker 'concerning'

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta considers the mounting allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior against kicker Justin Tucker "serious" and "concerning." He said Tuesday the team will let the NFL's investigation play out before determining how to proceed. The Baltimore Banner reported that 16 massage therapists in the Baltimore area have accused Tucker of inappropriate behavior. DeCosta says he has met with Tucker but declined to provide specifics of the conversation. The Ravens have instituted a zero-tolerance policy but DeCosta says the team will apply that policy on a case-by-case basis.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni pushes back against proposal to ban the tush push

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni pushed back against the Green Bay Packers' proposal to ban the tush push play his team has used so successfully in short-yardage situations, including during its victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed Tuesday that the Packers were the team that had made that proposal. Bengals plan to make All-Pro receiver Ja'Marr Chase the NFL's highest-paid non-quarterback

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals plan to make All-Pro wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. Coach Zac Taylor added the team also wants to extend Tee Higgins' contract and continue giving Joe Burrow the playmakers that help make one of the league's most dynamic passing attacks. Chase led the league in receptions (127), yards receiving (1,708) and touchdown catches (17) this past season, becoming just the sixth wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to achieve the receiving triple crown. The Bengals picked up his fifth-year option of $21.816 million, but will give him a long-term deal in the range of $40 million per year. Higgins played last season on the $21.8 million franchise tag.

Howie Roseman says the Eagles' roster will change as team begins quest for repeat title

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Howie Roseman's forehead has healed from the beer can that left him bloodied at the Philadelphia Eagles' victory parade, and the general manager is working on getting the team in position to repeat. Less than two weeks after the Eagles and their fans celebrated the franchise's second Super Bowl title, Roseman and coach Nick Sirianni joined their peers at the NFL's scouting combine as teams get set to evaluate college prospects ahead of the draft in April. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Lionel Messi opened the scoring with a masterful strike in the 19th minute, and Inter Miami beat Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Tuesday night in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup's first round. Luis Suárez and Tadeo Allende also scored as Inter Miami advanced with a 4-1 aggregate to face Jamaica Premier League champion Cavalier FC in the round of 16 on March 6. Messi also scored in Miami's 1-0 win at Kansas City in the first leg last Wednesday. Memo Rodríguez scored for Kansas City, the team's first goal of 2025.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid draw 4-4 in thrilling 1st leg of Copa del Rey semifinals

MADRID (AP) — Barcelona and Atletico Madrid both rallied from two goals down in a frantic 4-4 draw in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals. Atletico scored twice in the first six minutes before conceding four unanswered goals and coming back to even the match with goals in the final 10 minutes, including the equalizer by substitute Alexander Sorloth three minutes into stoppage time. The second leg will be at Atletico's Metropolitano Stadium will be in April. The winner will play either Real Madrid or Real Sociedad, which will play their first-leg match on Wednesday in Basque Country.

In the boys contest, the Salthawks trailed by only three, 41-38 going into the final quarter, but Maize came up with big plays to pull away for a 58- 48 win in the end.

Kohlbie Craft to the rescue was the theme of the night it seemed, as the junior post player came up big by having her most productive night as a Salthawk by scoring 17 points to lead Hutchinson to a 43 to 34 victory over Maize.

Craft scored on a three point play just as the time ran out in the second quarter to score and be fouled. She converted the free throw and that gave Hutchinson a 19 to 15 lead at the half. Hutchinson trailed for much of the first half as the Eagles played just about the entire game in a triangle and two defense shutting down the Salthawk duo of Grace Posh and Kaia Smith most of the night. Posh ended with five points while Smith only earned two points and that was scored in the first half of play.

The Salthawks was unable to extend the half time lead as both teams scored 13 points each in the third. Craft took over in the low post to score 7 of her 17 points in the final quarter only missing one free throw on the night. Tenley Keeton came off the bench to drop nine on the Eagles while Charlotte Kerbs, Malaysia Ingram and Lexee Shipp each scored eight points to lead the Eagles.

Coach Hilst agreed that the triangle and two defense caused some problems and that the Salthawks were going to have to figure out how to break it as now other teams will probably use it against Hutch, going down the stretch. Maize made it work against the Salthawks at least on this night of basketball.

Hutchinson will travel to Andover on Thursday and then wrap up the regular season with a make-up game in Salina on Friday versus Salina South. The girls game will be a rematch of last years sub-state final that Andover used to send them to state.

🏀 Salthawks come up short in Maize; Eagles earn split by pulling away late

Evans is now tied for second in school history for the most made threes in a single season.&nbsp; Williams scored a career-high 20 points while pulling down five rebounds, going 7-of-12 from the field and knocking down all five of her free throw attempts in the win. KSHSAA regional bowling tournaments will be held across the state over the next few days, with three sites in class 6A, three in class 5A and four in class 4-1A.

There will be a total of 144 bowlers (72 in girls; 72 in boys) that will qualify for state competition in class 6A, class 5A and class 4-1A.

In 6A and 5A, the top three teams at each regional will qualify for the state tournament. In 4-1A, the top two teams at regionals will qualify for state.

To qualify as an individual, the top six highest individual scores that are not members of a qualifying team will qualify for the state tournament.

Below you will see the two regional tournaments with Hutch Post area teams. The class 4-1A regional hosted by Buhler will take place on Wednesday, while the 5A regional hosted by Hutchinson will take place on Thursday.

WICHITA, Kan.&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2024-25 KCAC Women's Basketball all-conference teams and award winners.&nbsp;Student-athletes were selected for all awards&nbsp;by vote of the KCAC head women's basketball coaches. Kansas Wesleyan University took home the regular-season conference title with an 18-4 record in conference play, as part of a 22-6 overall record. Ryan Showman, the Coyotes' head coach, was named the Lonnie Kruse Coach of the Year by his peers. Korynn Clason of Sterling College was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Clason leads the conference with 22.0 points per game (ranks fifth in the NAIA) on an efficient 48.6% from the field, 45.3% from three-point range, and 87.2% from the free-throw line. Taylor Jackson of Friends University was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Jackson leads the conference in rebounds per game (12.4/game; tied for 12th in the NAIA), with 7.8 of those rebounds per game coming on the defensive end. Jackson also leads the KCAC in blocks per game (2.3), which is good for a tie for 12th in the NAIA. Ali Kamies of Evangel University earned the KCAC Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Year honor. Kamies leads the Valor with 13.8 points per game (11th in the KCAC), field goal percentage (48.9%), and steals (1.8/game; tied for 8th in the KCAC). Dominique Schutte of Ottawa University was named the KCAC Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year. Schutte averages 11.6 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. Schutte led all freshman in the KCAC in scoring, was the Braves' second leading scorer in total points, and led the KCAC in total three-point field goals made (77). 🏀 Area sub-state scoreboard for Feb. 25 games

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Travis Kelce “was fired up” to keep playing after the season ended and the Kansas City Chiefs are expecting the star tight end to return for another year.

“How we left it at the end of the season is that he was fired up,” general manager Brett Veach said Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine. “He has one more year under contract. Still think he has that fire and desire to play, and as far as I’m concerned, there is no deadline. I think we left it as he’d be back and we’re excited to get him back and get him going.”

The 35-year-old Kelce has been mulling whether to retire or make another run. The four-time All-Pro professed his love for football several times leading up to the Super Bowl. He has laid the groundwork for a career in TV and has a popular podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. His relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift has made him a mega-celebrity.

Kelce said on his podcast he would “take some time” to figure out if he would retire or return for another season.

Coach Andy Reid told Kelce to take time away to decide on his future.

“That’s up to Travis,” Reid said. “At this point, get out of town and relax. That’s my motto for these guys. They played a lot of games for a consistent amount of seasons here. So you get to the end and you’ve exhausted yourself mentally and physically. ... step back and take care of that, then we’ll talk.”

Kelce’s contract includes an $11.5 million roster bonus due March 15. Veach said the team is moving forward with its offseason plans “as if he’s here.”

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;&ndash; Kansas State head football coach&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/chris-klieman/2502" rel="smarttag" rev="2502">Chris Klieman</a></dfn>&nbsp;announced Tuesday new titles of four coaching staff members for the 2025 season. <dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/nate-kaczor/2519" rel="smarttag" rev="2519">Nate Kaczor</a></dfn>&nbsp;is now the program's special teams coordinator and special assistant to the head coach,&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/matt-kardulis/2516" rel="smarttag" rev="2516">Matt Kardulis</a></dfn>&nbsp;is the assistant safeties coach,&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/sean-maguire/2518" rel="smarttag" rev="2518">Sean Maguire</a></dfn>&nbsp;is the assistant quarterbacks coach and&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/david-orloff/2517" rel="smarttag" rev="2517">David Orloff</a></dfn>&nbsp;is the outside linebackers coach. "Each of these coaches provides tremendous value to our staff, and we have been fortunate to add a secondary assistant at numerous positions," Klieman said. "They provide great support not only on the field, but they serve important functions in recruiting as well." Kaczor is in his second season at K-State after serving the 2024 campaign as the special teams quality control coach. A 16-year NFL veteran, Kaczor (pronounced KAT-sir) helped K-State players earn top-50 national rankings in five categories as&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/dylan-edwards/11921" rel="smarttag" rev="11921">Dylan Edwards</a></dfn>&nbsp;ranked fourth nationally in punt return touchdowns (1), 35th in combined kickoff return and punt return yards (438) and ranked 43rd in kickoff return average (19.9 yards), while kicker&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/chris-tennant/11816" rel="smarttag" rev="11816">Chris Tennant</a></dfn>&nbsp;ranked 41st in field goals per game (1.31) and field goal percentage (81.0%). A native of Scott City, Kansas, Kaczor came to K-State after working for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2008-11), Tennessee Titans (2012-15), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2016-18) and Washington Commanders (2019-23). Maguire finishes off an offensive assistant staff that also includes&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/drew-liddle/2515" rel="smarttag" rev="2515">Drew Liddle</a></dfn>, who was named the assistant offensive line coach on February 13. Maguire finished his first year at K-State in 2024 as an offensive analyst, helping the Wildcats in the top 15 nationally in four offensive categories and rank in the top 10 in school history in 15 game or season categories, while he assisted in the guidance of&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/avery-johnson/11768" rel="smarttag" rev="11768">Avery Johnson</a></dfn>, who set the school record with 25 touchdown passes a year ago. A native of Sparta, New Jersey, who is a former quarterback at Florida State, Maguire came to K-State after working one season at Buffalo and four seasons at Texas A&amp;M. Kardulis and Orloff each enter their fifth seasons at K-State in 2025 after serving the previous four years as a defensive quality control coach and defensive analyst, respectively. Both have helped K-State average 21.8 points allowed per game over the last four seasons &ndash; a span of 53 games &ndash; to rank 24th nationally, 17th among Power 4 teams and third among current Big 12 teams. Additionally, the Wildcats have forced a combined 62 turnovers the last three seasons to rank first among current Big 12 schools. A native of Burnsville, North Carolina, Kardulis came to Manhattan after spending the previous two seasons on staff at Virginia Tech as a defensive graduate assistant. Prior to his stint in Blacksburg, he spent one year apiece as a defensive quality control coach at Campbell, video coordinator and running backs coach at Emory &amp; Henry College, and defensive graduate assistant at Frostburg State. He played defensive back for five years at Emory &amp; Henry College. Orloff, who hails from Laguna Niguel, California, came to Kansas State after working the previous three seasons at Syracuse as a graduate assistant working with the linebackers, while he later was a quality control coach for the Orange. He spent the previous three seasons as a defensive and special teams graduate assistant at UNLV. Orloff earned his undergraduate degree from San Jose State as he was an offensive undergraduate assistant for the Spartans for five seasons.</div>

🏈 Klieman announces K-State staff promotions

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) continued announcing on Tuesday its regional sites for the 2025 64-team, $1 million winner-take-all tournament.&nbsp;

Charles Koch Arena in Wichita will once again host a regional for the sixth time, while Municipal Arena in Kansas City will host for the first time.

The Wichita regional will take place July 18-22, while the Kansas City regional goes from July 19-23.

The AfterShocks, the Wichita State alumni team will be the host team once again in the Wichita region.

JHX Hoops (pronounced Jayhawks Hoops), the Kansas alumni team and Purple Reign, the KSU alumni team will join as hosts for the Kansas City region.
