⛳ Buhler leads area teams at Rusty Hilst Invitational

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Buhler finished 14th and Hutchinson placed 23rd on Friday at the Rusty Hilst Hutchinson Invitational at Carey Park Golf Course.

The 35-team tournament featured a strong field, with Shawnee Mission East winning the team title with a 282. Bishop Carroll was second at 290, followed by Kapaun Mount Carmel at 293, Blue Valley North at 294 and De Soto at 300.

Buhler led the area teams with a 314. Zach Chance paced the Crusaders with a 76, followed by Jace Horning and Isaiah Heredia, who each shot 77. Ben Gazaway added an 84, while Carson Thibault shot 93.

Hutchinson finished with a 339. Alex Haas led the Salthawks with an 83, while Maks Dreiling shot 84. Landyn Powell finished with an 85, Tate England shot 87, Teagan England added a 90 and Kale Dreiling shot 100.

McPherson finished 21st with a 335. Cole Cooper led the Bullpups with a 79. Paxton Ingels shot 82, Zane Sporleder had an 85, Hudson Krehbiel shot 89 and Drake Timson finished with a 91.

Newton finished 32nd with a 372. Rocco Ramos led the Railers with an 85, followed by Mason Alexander at 95, Kinnick Frey and Jackson Morton at 96, and Remington Burke at 97.

Shawnee Mission East’s Stuart Boulware won the individual title with a 6-under-par 66. Wamego’s Regan Kueker was second with a 67, while Manhattan’s Charlie Haney shot 69.
