MAIZE, Kan.&nbsp;— The Hutchinson High School Salthawks basketball teams traveled to Maize for an Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division I battle on Tuesday night. Both teams came out on top.&nbsp; The Salthawk girls defeated 5A No. 7 Maize South 47-43 in double overtime before the 5A No. 2 Hutchinson boys completed the sweep, winning 52-49 over the 5A No. 4 Mavericks. The Hutchinson girls (13-4) would use some timely free throws in the final seconds of the second overtime to secure a four-point road win. The Salthawks complete the season sweep of the Mavericks after winning in Hutchinson in early January. The Mavericks entered Tuesday's contest with a 10-game winning streak. Hutchinson led 13-8 after the first quarter and 20-12 at halftime. Just like the first meeting in Hutchinson, the Mavericks made some second-half adjustments. Maize South turned up its defensive intensity and caused all sorts of problems for the Salthawks. The Mavericks outscored Hutchinson 12-6 in the third period to pull within 26-24 going into the fourth quarter. Hutchinson trailed 35-34 with under 10 seconds to go, but that's when the unthinkable happened. Maize South lost track of the situation and fouled the Salthawks to secure free throws on the other end. HHS went 1-of-2 from the line to tie the game at 35 and force overtime. The Mavericks secured all of the momentum on their home floor as the extra period started. Both teams struggled in the first overtime frame, as each team scored just one point. The scoring picked up in the second overtime, as each team made their first two shots to tie the game at 40 a piece. Josie McLean knocked down two big free throws with 22 seconds remaining to give the Salthawks a 45-40 lead. Bella Peters knocked down a huge three-pointer on the other end and pulled the Mavericks within 45-43. McLean was once again fouled and knocked down both free throws to give Hutchinson a 47-43 lead. Hannah Ames finished with 13 points to lead the Salthawks, while Grace Posch and Aliyah Green each scored seven. This game was a tale of quarters, as the Salthawks would come out red-hot, knocking down five three-pointers in the first quarter to build a 21-9 lead after the first frame. The shots that were falling in the first quarter weren't in the second, as the Mavericks outscored the Salthawks 16-9 in the second frame to pull within 30-25 at halftime. Maize South (14-3) came out firing to start the second half, as Isaiah Atwater buried three three-pointers in the third frame alone, two of those back-to-back to help secure a 14-0 Maize South run. The Salthawks, who once led by 16 in the second quarter, saw their lead slip away. Maize South grabbed its first lead in the third quarter. The Mavericks would carry a 43-38 lead into the final frame. The Salthawks tied the game up at 43 a piece with 5:44 remaining in the game, and then once again at 45-all. Hutchinson got a clutch three-pointer from the left corner by Wade Meyer to give the Salthawks the 48-45 lead with 2:40 remaining. 🎥🏀 Hutch High Salthawks travels to Maize South for showdown

BEATRICE, Nebraska – The Hutchinson Community College baseball team earned its first series victory of the season after splitting Games 3 and 4 of the season-opening series with Southeast Community College on Monday at Christensen Field.

Will Edmundson continued his torrid start with a pair of twos and freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/bsb/2022-23/bios/childress_max_4ayg">Max Childress</a>&nbsp;drove in three runs as Hutchinson defeated the Storm 8-4 in the first game on Monday. The Blue Dragons had 10 hits, but stranded 14 base runners in a 5-4 loss in the series finale.

The Blue Dragons are 3-1 after the opening weekend. The Blue Dragons travel to Texas this weekend for three games against Temple, Hill and McLennan.

⚾️ Dragon BSB starts 3-1

The Hutchinson and Colby Community College athletics departments made a mutual decision on Sunday to move up Wednesday's regularly scheduled games to Tuesday.

The reason that prompted the move is a scheduled winter storm for northwest Kansas on Wednesday and Thursday. Colby is forecast to have anywhere from 4 to 7 inches of snow with north wins above 30 mph.

The Blue Dragons and Trojans will now play on Tuesday at the Colby Events Center. The women's game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Open Spaces Sports will provide the only video stream of the games.

The games will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9), beginning at 5:15 p.m.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in a memorable Super Bowl that included plenty of big plays on and off the field. Here's a look at some top moments from Sunday night's game:

Harrison Butker kicked a 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds remaining to lift the Chiefs to their 38-35 win over the Eagles. The Chiefs have won the Super Bowl in two of the past four seasons and their roll shows no sign of stopping, especially with Patrick Mahomes throwing the passes. Kansas City's quarterback overcame a sprained ankle to earn Super Bowl MVP honors after throwing for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Coach Andy Reid also captured his second Super Bowl title and this one came at the expense of the franchise he coached for 14 seasons before coming to Kansas City.

Rihanna provided a high-flying halftime performance in Arizona. The nine-time Grammy Award winner began and ended the halftime show suspended high above the field. She wore a puffy, bright red jumpsuit with tight, rubbery garb underneath as she stood on a transparent rectangular platform that raised and lowered as she belted out the lyrics to her hit songs over the turf.

Oh yeah, and to top it off, she did the performance while pregnant, news that was revealed after the show.

The Phoenix area is no stranger to hosting big events, but this was a huge weekend even by its standards. The winter and spring months are already tourist season in Arizona and the Super Bowl added another layer of revelry, adding tens of thousands of people who filled bars and restaurants and at times spilled into the streets. Throw in the Phoenix Open, the PGA Tour's version of a boozy mosh pit on grass, and the Phoenix area transforms into a weeklong Valley of Fun.

"The buzz is definitely here," said Jay Parry, president and CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee.

This could be a highlight or lowlight, depending on rooting allegiances, but James Bradberry's penalty on the final drive was undeniably a huge moment. The Chiefs were driving and faced third-and-8 at the Eagles 15-yard line with 1:54 remaining when Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw incomplete to JuJu Smith-Schuster. But officials flagged Bradberry for defensive holding, which negated the incompletion and, more importantly, gave the Chiefs a first down. Replays showed Bradberry made light contact with Smith-Schuster, though it didn't appear to affect the play much. Many fans — and some football commentators — disagreed with the call. The only person who didn't seem upset with the call was Bradberry himself.

"It was a holding. I tugged his jersey," Bradberry said. "I was hoping they would let it slide."

Mahomes rallied the Chiefs to victory and for that, casinos around the U.S. were pleased. Kansas City's 38-35 win meant the books were winners on the betting line, which generally favored the Eagles by 1 1/2 points and drew plenty of wagering on the NFC champions. That victory by the casinos offset a loss on the total, which was 51 1/2 points at many places. Sports betting has become huge business in the U.S. now that two-thirds of the country can do so legally.

Kadarius Toney's struggles with injuries and inconsistency prompted the New York Giants to give up on him midway through his second NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs gave him a second chance and the talented receiver proved he's no first-round bust. Toney made history and two of the biggest plays in the Chiefs' win. His 65-yard punt return in the fourth quarter was a particularly big moment. It was the longest punt return in Super Bowl history.

The first hint it might be the Chiefs' night came in the second quarter when Hurts fumbled and Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton scooped up the football and ran 36 yards for the touchdown. It was at a pivotal moment in the evening: The Eagles were ahead 14-7 and driving at midfield when Bolton's game-changing play occurred. Suddenly, the game was tied and the drama was just beginning.

The Super Bowl might be known for its extravagance, but country singer and songwriter Chris Stapleton didn't need any high-tech help for a stellar performance during the national anthem. Stapleton stood at midfield with just a guitar and his smooth baritone voice, belting out an emotional rendition that had Eagles coach Nick Sirianni in tears by the end.

Hurts wasn't victorious in his first Super Bowl appearance, but the young quarterback has no reason to be ashamed. He was phenomenal in Arizona, setting a Super Bowl record with three rushing touchdowns. On top of that, he completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown, showing poise and perfect throwing touch on a number of occasions.

The field at State Farm Stadium may have looked immaculate, but by the second half, it was clear that traction was not great. Said Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata: "It was like playing on a water park." The grass at State Farm Stadium is on a giant tray that is rolled in and out of the retractable roof stadium. The field sits out in the Arizona sun on warm days and is brought back inside when it gets cold. This particular batch of grass started growing in May of 2021, but even a nearly two-year process couldn't produce a flawless field.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made it to the Super Bowl. He made three appearances during the week in Arizona, including on the field at State Farm Stadium prior to the game. It's been a little more than a month since Hamlin went into cardiac arrest and needed to be resuscitated on the field in Cincinnati. Sunday's appearance was another milestone in his remarkable recovery. "I'm allowing that to be in God's hands," Hamlin said in an interview with Fox's Michael Strahan. "I'm just thankful he gave me a second chance."

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Super Bowl had something for everyone.

Long before Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the biggest winner of this NFL season walked onto the field. Damar Hamlin came out to a rousing ovation during a pregame ceremony honoring the men and women who saved his life.

Hamlin’s third appearance of the week was the best feel-good moment on a day filled with many inspirational themes.

Mahomes and Jalen Hurts put on a historic show in the first Super Bowl featuring two Black starting quarterbacks. Hurts was spectacular but Mahomes played through an ankle injury and rallied the Chiefs from a 10-point deficit for a 38-35 comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

It was yet another lesson on dealing with adversity and rising to the occasion playing out before hundreds of millions of viewers on the sport’s biggest stage.

“I appreciate it because of the failures,” Mahomes said about winning his second championship in four years. “I mean the failure of losing a Super Bowl and losing the AFC championship game gives you a greater appreciation to be standing here as a champion."

Brotherhood was on display in the first Super Bowl matchup involving two brothers playing on different teams. Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce caught a touchdown pass to help his team topple All-Pro center Jason Kelce and the Eagles. Mama Kelce was everywhere throughout the week and sat between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Hamlin in a suite.

“There’s nothing I can say to him other than I love him and he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season,” Travis Kelce said. “To see my family be in all its glory and get all its flowers, my mom be the center of attention on the Jumbotron before the game on the biggest stage and being able to get closer with my brother throughout the season and to meet him at the mountain top, it’s the best feeling in the world. I don’t know how many more I got left, but I’ll cherish this one forever.”

A defensive holding call on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry allowed Kansas City to keep the ball, run down the clock and Harrison Butker kicked the go-ahead 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds left.

The duo allowed only eight sacks in 1975 and a league-low 40 sacks between 1975 and 1977. The Cardinals guard played for Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Don Coryell, who was just&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/pro-football-hall-of-fame-class-of-2023-revealed-at-nfl-honors">selected</a>&nbsp;into the exclusive group this past week. Dobler and Coryell won NFC East division titles in 1974 and 1975.

Dobler played two years for the Saints from 1978-79 and another two for the Bills before retiring after the 1981 season.

In his 10-year career, Dobler started in 125 games out of 129 that he played in.

The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) is pleased to introduce Mike Saddler as the next Commissioner of the Jayhawk Conference effective July 1, 2023. Saddler is set to succeed current KJCCC Commissioner, Carl Heinrich, who announced his retirement at the end of the 2022-2023 year.

Heinrich has served as the head of the Jayhawk Conference since 2018, providing the leadership for 21 institutions in Kansas, including the 19 community colleges, Northwest Tech, and Hesston College.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to become the next commissioner of the premier conference in the NJCAA. I’ve been fortunate to spend 16 years involved with this conference as a player, coach, and administrator so getting the privilege to lead the conference as it’s commissioner is humbling. I’m looking forward to working alongside the presidents, athletic directors, and coaches to help this conference continue to grow and thrive”, said Saddler. Current KJCCC President, Dr. Marlon Thornburg of Coffeyville said, “we’re excited to have Mike on board to lead the Jayhawk Conference. His knowledge and experience within the conference and on the national level will be beneficial as he provides the leadership for our member institutions.”

Saddler is the current Athletic Director at Colby Community College in Colby, KS, a position he has held since 2018. The Trojans have experienced outstanding success on the field under Saddler. Colby has won five of the 18 Jayhawk Conference Championships since Saddler become the Athletic Director, and the men’s cross-country team recently claimed the school’s first National Championship in over 20 years.

Prior to his time at Colby, Saddler spent nine years at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, KS. He started his career at Neosho County as an assistant baseball coach where he helped guide the team to its second NJCAA World Series appearance before transitioning to a role in athletic administration in the fall of 2012. Saddler spent three years as Assistant Athletic Director, before being named the Athletic Director in the Spring of 2015.

Saddler has also been an active voice at the conference and national level serving as the Region 6 Men’s Director since 2015. As part of his role Saddler has served as the NJCAA Division I Baseball Chair since 2017 and also serves as the vice chair of the NJCAA Eligibility Committee in addition to other committee assignments. In 2017 Saddler was also named the Jayhawk Conference Secretary/Treasurer.

An alum of the Jayhawk Conference, Saddler began his collegiate career as a student-athlete at Colby Community College where he earned an Associate degree and NJCAA All-Academic honors in 2002. He would continue on to the University of Kansas where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree followed by a Master’s of Science in Sports Administration from Fort Hays State University.

Saddler has been a member of the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators and the National Association of College Directors of Athletics since 2012. In July of 2022 Saddler was recognized as the 2021-22 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Athletic Director of the Year.

Saddler and his wife Sara reside in Colby, KS. The Saddlers have two sons, Brody (12) and Hudson (9).

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — A questionable late penalty on Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry with less than two minutes remaining meant that a scintillating Super Bowl 57 had a bit of an underwhelming finish. The Chiefs — who won 38-35 — were driving and faced third-and-8 at the Eagles 15-yard line with 1:54 remaining when Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw incomplete to JuJu Smith-Schuster. But officials flagged Bradberry for defensive holding, which negated the incompletion and gave the Chiefs a first down. Replays showed that Bradberry made light contact with Smith-Schuster, but it didn’t appear to affect the play. Kansas City was able to essentially run out the clock from that point forward and kick a late field goal for the win.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Quarterback Derek Carr turned down a trade offer from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New Orleans Saints, a person with knowledge of the decision said Sunday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to comment publicly. That person said Carr wouldn’t accept a pay cut to help finalize the deal, and the Saints were the only team interested in making a trade with the Raiders. Carr has a no-trade clause in his contract. Given those circumstances and Wednesday’s deadline for the Raiders to trade or release Carr, it appears Las Vegas will cut the QB.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Liz Scott finished with 20 points and eight rebounds and No. 16 Oklahoma breezed to its fourth straight win with an 85-68 victory over Kansas State. Scott made 8 of 13 shots from the floor and 4 of 6 free throws for the Sooners (20-4, 10-3), who closed within a game of No. 20 Texas in the Big 12 Conference race for first place. She also blocked two shots. Madi Williams scored 16 on 8-of-10 shooting for Oklahoma. She added five assists and four rebounds, but also had seven of her team’s 20 turnovers. UNDATED (AP) — New Mexico State has called off the rest of its men’s basketball season after reviewing a police report that cited three players for false imprisonment, harassment and criminal sexual contact against a teammate. In a statement, chancellor Dan Arvizu said the action was needed after receiving additional details of reports related to hazing allegations against players. KTSM-TV in El Paso, Texas, obtained what it said was a redacted police report with none of the players named. The station said the report detailed the victim telling investigators that on Feb. 6, three members of the team held down the victim, removed his clothing exposing his buttocks and began to hit him in the buttocks, The victim also said the players touched his scrotum.

Sports Headlines for Monday

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Patrick Mahomes shook off an ankle injury, turned back into a magician and pulled out another comeback on the biggest stage to help the Kansas City Chiefs win their second Super Bowl in four years.

Mahomes threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and scrambled 26 yards on the go-ahead drive before Harrison Butker kicked a 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds left to give the Chiefs a 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

Mahomes and Hurts excelled in the first Super Bowl matchup featuring two Black starting QBs. But Mahomes, the two-time AP NFL MVP, turned it up in the second half after reaggravating a sprained right ankle.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who couldn't win the big game in Philadelphia, beat his former team to earn his second ring with Mahomes and the Chiefs.

With the score tied at 35-35, the Eagles tried to let the Chiefs score a touchdown with under two minutes left so they could get the ball back. But Jerick McKinnon slid at the 2, forcing the Eagles to use their last timeout.

After Mahomes took a knee two times, Butker nailed his kick, sending thousands of red-clad Chiefs fans into a frenzy.

The Chiefs won their second Super Bowl following the 2019 season, 50 years after the first one. It took just three years to get another Lombardi.

Chiefs fans were outnumbered in the stadium, but they did their part to silence the boisterous Philly fans with the tomahawk chop chant.

Down 24-14 with a limping Mahomes, the Chiefs followed up Rihanna's electrifying halftime performance with a sensational offensive outburst.

Mahomes, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the divisional round, hurt it again on a 3-yard scramble late in the second quarter. He limped off the field but showed no ill effects on Kansas City's next possession.

Mahomes slipped — several players lost their footing on the natural grass surface — in the pocket yet somehow regained his balance and scrambled 14 yards to the Eagles 4, setting up Isiah Pacheco's 1-yard TD run that cut the deficit to 24-21.

After Jake Elliott's 33-yard field goal extended Philadelphia's lead to 27-21, the Chiefs struck again.

Mahomes tossed a 5-yard TD pass to a wide-open Kardarius Toney to give Kansas City its first lead, 28-27, early in the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs tightened up their defense, forcing Philly to punt. Then Toney returned a line-drive kick 65 yards to the Eagles 5 for the longest punt return in Super Bowl history.

On third down from the 4, Mahomes connected with Skyy Moore to extend their lead to 35-27. Moore also was wide open on the play.

Hurts hit DeVonta Smith for a 46-yard gain to the Chiefs and ran in for his third score of the game. He also ran in for the 2-point conversion to tie it at 35-35 with 5:15 to go.

As "Fly! Eagles! Fly!" reverberated throughout the stadium, Mahomes and the Chiefs went back to work.

The 27-year-old Mahomes became the third player to win his second NFL MVP award before age 28. He also became the youngest QB to start three Super Bowls. Then, Mahomes became the first player to win the Super Bowl the same season he was MVP after nine straight players lost.

Just five years after winning the first Super Bowl in franchise history, the Eagles came close with a new coach — Nick Sirianni — and new quarterback — Hurts.

Hurts set a Super Bowl record with 70 yards rushing and tied a record with three rushing scores.

The Eagles marched 75 yards down the field with Hurts scoring from the 1 for a 7-0 lead, and controlled the ball for almost 22 minutes in the first half.

Hurts, who missed two games late in the season with a shoulder injury, had no trouble throwing a perfect deep ball to A.J. Brown, giving the Eagles a 14-7 lead with a 45-yard connection on the first play of the second quarter.

But Hurts then made a rare mistake on the next drive when he fumbled without being hit while scrambling away from pressure. Nick Bolton picked it up and raced 36 yards for a score that made it 14-14. Hurts had just eight turnovers this season, six picks and two fumbles.

He took off for 14 yards on the first play after the fumble. On fourth-and-5 from Chiefs 44, Hurts ran 28 yards. He finished off the drive with a 4-yard TD run to put Philadelphia ahead 21-14.

Elliott kicked a 35-yard field goal to send the Eagles into halftime leading 24-14.

Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce on an 18-yard TD pass in the right corner to tie it at 7-7 in the first quarter. The Chiefs' All-Pro tight end and Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce became the first set of brothers to play against each other in the Super Bowl.

Their mom, Donna Kelce, wore a half-red, half-green jersey with No. 87 on the front for Travis and No. 62 on the back for Jason. She sat in a suite between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Damar Hamlin.

Eagles fans turned State Farm Stadium into a sea of green, chanting "E-A-G-L-E-S!" and singing the team's fight song after each score. But they left disappointed.

Reid won more games than any coach in team history during 14 seasons with the Eagles but the one knock against him was that he couldn't win the big one. Reid finally earned his ring with the Chiefs when they beat San Francisco in the Super Bowl following the 2019 season. They went back the next year and lost to Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The first Super Bowl involving both No. 1 seeds since the Eagles beat the Patriots in February 2018 lived up to its hype. It was the third-highest scoring Super Bowl and the Eagles scored the most points by a losing team.

Plenty of celebrities were the Eagles fans wearing, including Bradley Cooper and Kevin Hart, who wore a Reggie White No. 92 jersey.

Paul McCartney and LeBron James also were in the crowd of 67,827.

Fly!" reverberated throughout the stadium, Mahomes and the Chiefs went back to work.The 27-year-old Mahomes became the third player to win his second NFL MVP award before age 28. He also became the youngest QB to start three Super Bowls. Then, Mahomes became the first player to win the Super Bowl the same season he was MVP after nine straight players lost.Just five years after winning the first Super Bowl in franchise history, the Eagles came close with a new coach — Nick Sirianni — and new quarterback — Hurts.Hurts set a Super Bowl record with 70 yards rushing and tied a record with three rushing scores.The Eagles marched 75 yards down the field with Hurts scoring from the 1 for a 7-0 lead, and controlled the ball for almost 22 minutes in the first half.Hurts, who missed two games late in the season with a shoulder injury, had no trouble throwing a perfect deep ball to A.J. Brown, giving the Eagles a 14-7 lead with a 45-yard connection on the first play of the second quarter.But Hurts then made a rare mistake on the next drive when he fumbled without being hit while scrambling away from pressure. Nick Bolton picked it up and raced 36 yards for a score that made it 14-14. Hurts had just eight turnovers this season, six picks and two fumbles.Undeterred, Hurts kept running.He took off for 14 yards on the first play after the fumble. On fourth-and-5 from Chiefs 44, Hurts ran 28 yards. She sat in a suite between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Damar Hamlin.Eagles fans turned State Farm Stadium into a sea of green, chanting "E-A-G-L-E-S!" and singing the team's fight song after each score. But they left disappointed.Reid won more games than any coach in team history during 14 seasons with the Eagles but the one knock against him was that he couldn't win the big one. Reid finally earned his ring with the Chiefs when they beat San Francisco in the Super Bowl following the 2019 season. They went back the next year and lost to Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.The first Super Bowl involving both No. 1 seeds since the Eagles beat the Patriots in February 2018 lived up to its hype. A trio of Shockers topped the 20-point mark, led by&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/kenny-pohto/7214">Kenny Pohto's</a>&nbsp;career-high 28 points on 13-of-15 shooting. <a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/craig-porter-jr-/7213">Craig Porter Jr.</a>&nbsp;added 22, including a game-tying layup with two seconds left in regulation and six more tallies in double-overtime to help WSU (13-12, 6-7 American) create separation. 🏀 MBB: Shockers rally for double-overtime win over SMU

MANHATTAN –&nbsp;K-State looked to collect its third win over a ranked opponent this season, but (16/13) Oklahoma held by the Wildcats with a 85-68 win at Bramlage Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

K-State (14-11, 3-9 Big 12) saw four players reach double digits and were led by former Sooner Gabby Gregory with a game-high 24 points on 6-of-19 shooting and a 10-of-11 effort from the foul line. This was Gregory’s 15th&nbsp;game this season with 20 or more points, most in the Big 12. Gregory also hauled in six rebounds and dished out three assists in 40 minutes of action.

Joining Gregory in double figures was the sophomore trio of Brylee Glenn, Jaelyn Glenn and Serena Sundell with 12 points each. The trio also each tallied four steals each, while Sundell recorded five assists.

Oklahoma (20-4, 10-3) also featured four players in double figures and were led by Liz Scott with 20 points, while Madi Williams added 16 points and Ana Llanusa chipped in with 10.

LUBBOCK, Texas&nbsp;– No. 12/11 Kansas State had numerous chances to take the lead in the final minutes but could not quite make the right play at the right time in dropping a 71-63 decision at Texas Tech on Saturday night before a crowd of 12,973 at United Supermarkets Arena. The Wildcats (19-6, 7-5 Big 12) had opportunities to win the game down the stretch despite a season-high 23 turnovers which the Red Raiders (13-12, 2-10 Big 12) converted into 28 points. It is the most points allowed to an opponent via turnovers since Texas Tech scored 30 in a win at Bramlage Coliseum on Jan. 17, 2020. Seven times in the last 12 minutes of the game K-State was within one possession and each time Texas Tech had an answer. The Red Raiders responded with 3-point plays after the Wildcats closed to within 2 points midway through the second half. K-State closed to within 50-49 on 2 free throws by senior&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/keyontae-johnson/9899">Keyontae Johnson</a>&nbsp;and a 3-pointer from reserve&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/desi-sills/9686">Desi Sills</a>&nbsp;with under 9 minutes to play then again at 52-51 on 2 more free throws by senior&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/markquis-nowell/9650">Markquis Nowell</a>&nbsp;with 8:19 remaining. The Red Raiders responded with 3-point plays after the Wildcats closed to within 2 points midway through the second half. LAWRENCE – ESPN announced Saturday morning that College GameDay Covered (CGD) by State Farm will broadcast live at Allen Fieldhouse on Feb. 18 in advance of the Baylor-Kansas matchup.

This will mark the second-straight season and 11th time that ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast from historic Allen Fieldhouse, which host Rece Davis has described as “the best place to see a game on the planet.” It is also the second time this year the GameDay crew has visited Lawrence as Kansas football hosted the show on Oct. 8 for its TCU game at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

The two-hour basketball CGD show will begin at 9 a.m. (Central) with tipoff vs. Baylor slated for 3 p.m. (Central), also on ESPN.

Kansas will be the fourth on-site location for College GameDay for the 2022-23 season as the show originated from the ESPN studios in Bristol, Connecticut, its first two weeks. ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm is hosted by Davis, who is joined by analysts Jay Bilas, LaPhonso Ellis and Seth Greenberg.

Feb. 18 will mark the second time this season and 24th time the Jayhawks will be featured on ESPN College GameDay, with 21 regular-season appearances and three at neutral locations. The win completes a season sweep by the Jayhawks over Texas Tech for the second-straight season, improving Kansas to 16-7 on the year and 6-6 in Big 12 play. Tech falls to 16-9 (4-8 Big 12) this season.

Jackson matched her career-high with 24 points and recorded her 16th double-double of the season with 11 rebounds, while Franklin added 20 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter. Kersgieter had 18 points, which included four three-pointers. Chandler Prater and Sanna Strom – KU’s other two starters – had eight points apiece as KU got all 78 points in the game from its starting five.

"We have a tough group and to be as banged up and as limited as we are with personnel, I’m just really proud that we can go on the road and get a tough conference win in this environment. Zakiyah Franklin was outstanding. We got after her a little bit at halftime and challenged her. HUTCHINSON, Kan.&nbsp;— The Blue Dragons dropped their third-straight game and fifth out of their last six games on Saturday, falling to No. 14 Dodge City inside the Sports Arena, 104-88. Hutchinson trailed 41-34 at halftime before the Conquistadors outscored the Blue Dragons 63-54 in the second half to pull away.&nbsp; The Blue Dragons held a lead in the first half and would have their last lead of the game at the 9:00 mark in the half following a Ra'Sean Frederick layup to give Hutch a 25-22 lead. They would then pull within 35-32 with 3:14 left in the opening half, but that would be the closest they'd get for the rest of the game.&nbsp; Dodge City (19-6, 15-4 KJCCC) knocked down 11 three-pointers in the contest, while shooting a 53 percent clip from the floor and 23-of-29 at the free-throw line.  </figure>HUTCHINSON, Kan.&nbsp;— The Blue Dragons dropped their third-straight game and fifth out of their last six games on Saturday, falling to No. 14 Dodge City inside the Sports Arena, 104-88. Hutchinson trailed 41-34 at halftime before the Conquistadors outscored the Blue Dragons 63-54 in the second half to pull away.&nbsp; The Blue Dragons held a lead in the first half and would have their last lead of the game at the 9:00 mark in the half following a Ra'Sean Frederick layup to give Hutch a 25-22 lead. They would then pull within 35-32 with 3:14 left in the opening half, but that would be the closest they'd get for the rest of the game.&nbsp; Dodge City (19-6, 15-4 KJCCC) knocked down 11 three-pointers in the contest, while shooting a 53 percent clip from the floor and 23-of-29 at the free-throw line. Hutchinson (15-11, 9-11) shot 44 percent from the floor, knocked down eight threes, while going 18-of-30 from the foul stripe.&nbsp; The Blue Dragons were plus-12 on the glass, outrebounding the Conqs 46-34, but 12 turnovers by Hutch led to 14 Dodge City points.&nbsp; Jason Edwards led Dodge City with 38 points, including six three-pointers made, while also bringing down six rebounds and dishing off eight assists. Edwards was one of four Dodge City starters to score in double figures.
