Jonathan A. "Jon" Shanks, 47, of South Hutchinson, died May 9, 2025. He was born December 9, 1977, in Colby to Ralph and Lily (Lorraine) Shanks.&nbsp;

Jon worked at Lowen Sign Company for many years. He worked at Gregory Inc. for the past three years. &nbsp;Jon was a person who craved knowledge and loved obtaining new information. He found everything interesting and tried to cultivate a wealth of knowledge on all subjects.&nbsp;

Jon is survived by: sons, Ethan and Wyatt Shanks; parents, Ralph and Lily Shanks; brother, Daniel Shanks; and uncle, David Johnson.

Lewis Albert “Louie” Latham, Jr., 82, died November 13, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born December 30, 1941, in Hardenville, MO, to Lewis Andrew and Marguerite Elizabeth (Lyman) Latham, Sr.&nbsp;

Louie graduated from Buhler High School in 1959, and served six years in the Kansas National Guard.&nbsp; He worked at Cessna/Eaton as a foreman for 43 years. Louie enjoyed anything outdoors such as farming, fishing, hunting, water skiing, and fixing whatever might need repaired. He also had a green thumb, and could grow anything, from vegetables to flowers. Louie and his wife, Bobbi, have been purple martin “landlords” for almost 40 years, with the purple martins always finding their way back to the homes that Louie built for them. &nbsp;

On May 21, 1997, he married Bobbi (Donaldson) Baker, in Stafford, VA.

Louie is survived by: &nbsp;his wife, Bobbi Latham of Hutchinson; children, Vicki Huston (Tracy) of Hutchinson, Mark Latham (Kiersten) of Pittsford, MI, Darren Latham (Chelsey) of Mascoutah, IL, Tracy Simmons (Shawn) of South Hutchinson, Travis Jones (Debbie) of &nbsp;Ruther Glen, VA, and Courtney Peak (Dustin) of Buhler; sister, Phyllis Kerschner of Hutchinson; in-laws, Bob and Lauralee Donaldson of Hutchinson; over 70 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his four-legged sidekick, Charlie.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; brothers, Jimmie Latham and Glen Latham; brother-in-law, Lonnie Kerschner; and son-in-law, Joshua Peak.&nbsp;

Jim was a long-time diesel mechanic. Prior to retirement, he was a transit operator and a mechanic for Hutchinson Community College. He was able to repair anything on vehicles with his natural talent. Jim was an animal lover especially his two feline friends. He was very family-oriented and devoted much of his time to his mother’s care before her death. Jim was also a tremendous brother to both his siblings.&nbsp;

Jim is survived by: sister, Laurie Branan of Independence, MO; nephew, Dexter (Olive) Branan, and great-nephew, David Branan of Colorado Springs, CO.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Thomas C. Branan.&nbsp;

Terry L. Spaniol, 66, died at Hutchinson Regional Hospital on May 9, 2025, surrounded by her family. Terry was born June 24, 1958, in Hutchinson, to Billy Spaniol and Zella (Landes) Arnold.

Terry grew up in Plevna and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1977. She was a waitress at Anchor Inn on and off for the past 30 years and worked as a dog groomer at Alyssa’s Chop Shop. &nbsp;She enjoyed all things animals, especially dogs. She loved to garden and go to the lake with her lifelong best friend, Tammy, and spending time with her family and friends.

Terry is survived by: daughter, Shana (CJ) Peavy; grandsons, Jacob, Kobe, Chris (Skylar) and Bruce Peavy; granddaughter, Alexis Haugsness; sisters, Cindy Renollet, Melody Vest, Holly Spaniol, Heidi (Chris) Evans; three nephews and three nieces; and lifelong best friend, Tammie Hazell.

Terry is preceded in death by: her parents; two infant brothers; and a granddaughter.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.

Ruth A Striplin of Partridge, KS, passed away at St Francis Via Christi in Wichita, KS on May 7,2025. She was Born to Vernon and Hazel Lowe on November 7, 1961. She is survived by her husband Sanford Striplin of Partridge, KS, who she married on April 1, 2006. Ruth had three Children, Delores Lowe of Hutchinson, Leroy Lowe, And Thomas Wills of Partridge. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Tyler Knowles, and Leroy Lowe Jr. Her other grandchildren to survive her are Anna Knowles, Dakota Knowles, Christopher Lowe, Salem Lowe, and more. She was also a Great Grandmother to David Hudson, Micheal Hudson, Mason Knowles, Ashlann Knowles, Weston Knowles, Leonardo Lowe, Theodore Lowe, Lyrum Lowe and Scarlette Lowe.

All that Ruth knew would speak to her love of cooking, working in her garden and flower beds, as well as her love of arts and crafts. They would also speak of the love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as spending time with them whenever possible.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Avenue A Park on Friday May 16, 2025, from 1pm to 3pm for family and friends. She will be Dearly missed by all that knew her.&nbsp;

Tanesha Lashawn Terwey transitioned to heaven on May 06, 2025 at the young age of 36, in Hutchinson KS, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a woman of fierce loyalty and a love for her family that never wavered.

Tanesha didn’t pretend to have life figured out—and she didn’t have to. She faced deep pain, grief, and though life often felt heavy, she still found ways to show up for the people she loved. Her love was real, raw, and never quiet. She didn’t hold her tongue, and she didn’t hide her feelings—but if she loved you, you knew it. You felt it in the way she stood by you, laughed with you, and gave of herself even when she was struggling.

She may not have always seen life as something to celebrate, but she celebrated people—and that made all the difference.

Tanesha was loud in all the best ways. Her laugh could fill a room. Her honesty made you think—and her presence made you feel like you belonged. Even in her hardest moments, she fought to be present, and in her final days, she still found the strength to dance one more time. That was her way—quietly strong, fun, feisty, deeply loving, unapologetically real.

She was the life of the party—tiny but mighty—and we’ll always remember her that way.

Debbie (Mings) Ford, 72, of Hutchinson, KS, entered into the loving arms of her Savior on May 2, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her devoted family and caregivers.

Debbie was born on October 14, 1952, in Medicine Lodge, KS, the daughter of Charles Mings and Helen (Sails) Sizelove. She graduated from Halstead High School in 1970 and continued her education at Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, where she earned her business degree.

In 1979, Debbie married Ben Ford, her beloved partner and best friend, with whom she shared a deep, unwavering bond. Together, they created a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams until Ben’s passing.

Debbie dedicated her career to serving others, beginning as a restorative aide at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home. She later held positions in social services, accounts payable, and business office management at Golden Plains Healthcare Center, now Diversicare of Hutchinson, where she became a respected leader and advocate for compassionate care.

Debbie’s passions extended beyond her work. She was a loyal KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs fan, known for cheering enthusiastically during games. She cherished quiet moments spent fishing and found great pride in watching her beloved Ben umpire at Fun Valley and the Lionette Field. Her faithful dog, Sandi, was a constant source of companionship and comfort.

Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, Debbie had a way of making others feel loved and appreciated. She especially enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like sharing a meal with family and friends. Her eyes would light up whenever someone brought her Chick-fil-A, instantly winning them a place in her heart for the day. When she wasn’t enjoying her favorite meal, you could find her tuned into 24/7 Fox News, often excited to see President Trump, with a deep appreciation for the country she loved.

Debbie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted sister, Leta Thomas; siblings, Katie McPheeters, Mark Sizelove, and Cindy Pyl; her children, Patrick Ford, Jennifer Trammell (husband Clyde) were her devoted caregivers, Eric Ford, Bradley Ford, and Bryce Hazen; thirteen cherished grandchildren; thirteen beloved great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ben; her cherished daughter, Shari Ann Vice; great-granddaughter, Harley Trammell; and her beloved pets, Roscoe, Levi, Garrett, and Bruno.

Ronald Eugene Scott, 69, died on May 7, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born on January 18, 1956, in Hutchinson to Robert E. and Imogene L. Scott.

Ron attended Buhler High School and Washburn University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 1975, he married Christine Howell of Hutchinson and had two children, Jennifer and Ryan. After graduating, he returned to Hutchinson to work with his father where he would begin a life-long career in RV sales, parts and service. For the last 40 years, he loyally served his customers maintaining close relationships lasting through decades of hard work and dedication to his business. In 1987, he married Patricia Byrd of South Hutchinson and had two daughters, Natalie and Regan.

While Ron was well-known throughout the Hutchinson community through his RV business, his true passion was his family. He was a dedicated father, and his greatest pride was his children’s academic pursuits. Ron taught his children insight and understanding through the many lively debates that occurred in their home. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and school activities. His family will fondly remember the many summers spent at the family sandpit where you’d often find Ron in the water or driving the boat. Ron rarely missed a Royals game, enjoyed playing and watching golf, browsed antique shops for new additions to his camper toy collection, and often ended his day with an old rerun of Gunsmoke. Everyone who knew Ron has been touched by his generosity and captivated by his witty storytelling.

Ron is survived by his wife, Pat Byrd, of South Hutchinson, and four children, Jennifer Koontz (Matthew) and their children Caleb, Abigail, and Naomi, of Newton, Kansas; Ryan Scott (Molly) and their children Otto, Campbell, Tolliver, and Poppy, of Omaha, Nebraska; Natalie Scott and son Elliott of Kansas City, Missouri; and Regan Scott of Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Randall, and his sisters Darlene and Roberta.

Lila Ilene (Horst) Honeycutt was born on March 3, 1939, to John and Marie (Ross) Horst at home in rural Oak, NE. She was the 7th of 10 children in the family and passed away May 7, 2025. Lila attended grade school in Oak, NE and Nelson High School, Nelson, NE, graduating with the class of 1957. On December 1, 1957, Lila was united in marriage to Gerald Honeycutt in Ruskin, NE, and to this union two sons were born Steven and Joe.

They lived in Hutchinson, KS till they moved to the rural residence near Haven, KS in 1973.

Lila worked for many businesses over the years mostly in customer service. Among these were Kress, Duffens Optical, Far-Mar-Co, Farmland Industries and retired from Kroger.

Lila enjoyed sewing often making clothing for her kids and herself. She reupholstered and refinished furniture for her home. She enjoyed her house plants and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Later in life, she enjoyed watching game shows and playing handheld video games. The best part of the 52 years of living near Haven was being able to watch the wildlife outdoors.

She is survived by her two sons, Steven Honeycutt, Haven, KS, and Joe (Carla) Honeycutt, Haven, KS. Five grandchildren: Michael Honeycutt, Haven, KS, Cody Honeycutt, Haven, KS, Kayla (Jake) Sanders, Salina, KS, Aaron Honeycutt, Haven, KS and Austin Honeycutt, Haven, KS. Three great grandchildren and two step-great- grandchildren. Sisters: Norma Walker, Winfield, AL, Donna Genung, Deshler, NE, sisters-in-law Lana Horst, Edger, NE, Marlys McClure, Nelson, NE, brother-in-law Mike (Trish) Honeycutt Deweese, NE and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gerald, parents, sisters: Evaline Hinz, Lillie Hofferber, Vera Schriever, Verna Brandt, brothers: Robert, Alfred and Johnny Horst, brothers-in-law: Eldred Hinz, Eugene Walker, Myron Schriever, Donald Hofferber, Rodger Dondlinger, Marvin Honeycutt and Curtis Honeycutt, sisters-in-law: Janice Horst, Donna Lammers.

Joseph Allen “Joe” Winkler, 53, formerly of Wichita, died May 8, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 27, 1971, in Hutchinson, to Stephen Allen “Steve” and Kathryn Louise “Kathy” (Burdette) Winkler.

Joe was a graduate of Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College with an associate of arts. He then attended Wichita State University, majoring in art. Joe was a night manager at the Coca-Cola Distribution Plant in Wichita. He also owned and operated Sportsmen Sports Bar in Wichita. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing. While growing up he participated in Boy Scouts. Joe was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.

Joe is survived by: his mother, Kathy Winkler; brother, Mike (Leah) Winkler; nieces and nephews; Emily Winkler, Britney Winkler, Finley Winkler and Rowan Winkler, all of Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Steve Winkler; and brother, Jonathan Paul Winkler.

Bettie Jane Brooks, 81, died May 6, 2025, at home surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. &nbsp;She was born December 22, 1943, in Guymon, OK, to Byron G. and Mary Magdalane (Froelich) Brown, Jr. &nbsp;

Bettie graduated from Hooker High School, Hooker, OK, in 1961, and Union Adventist University, Lincoln, NE, with her bachelor’s degree in social work. &nbsp;She worked five years for the Reno County Welfare Department (currently known as the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services or SRS). &nbsp;Once Bettie and Robert started a family, Bettie stayed home to raise their two sons. &nbsp;She eventually opened her own daycare, making a difference in children’s lives for over 30 years. &nbsp; Bettie enjoyed gardening, swimming in the family pool, and playing the piano, especially at church. &nbsp;Faith and family were prominent to Bettie. &nbsp;She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church her entire life and was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and sister-in-law.

On June 4, 1966, Bettie married Robert L. Brooks, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;

Bettie is survived by: &nbsp;her husband of almost 59 years, Robert Brooks of Hutchinson; sons, Russell Brooks of Wylie, TX, and Ryan Brooks (Stephanie) of Wichita; grandchildren, Emma Brooks and Faith Brooks of Wichita; sister, Billie Meyer of Hooker, OK; brothers-in-law, Ronald Dean Brooks and Randall Brooks, both of Hutchinson; nephew, Monty Meyer; niece, Missy Thomason (Kenny), and great-nieces and great-nephews, Carissa Paxton, Chelsea Pollard, Austin Thomason, and Zac Thomason.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Doyt Meyer.

Alice graduated from Alden High School in 1958 and attended Emporia State University. She was a secretary for Crook Furniture, Dillons and Koch Industries. She enjoyed watching golf, traveling the world and had a passion for gardening all types of flowers. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and huge supporter of President Donald Trump.

Alice is survived by: sister, Roberta Recker; nephews, Phil Recker, Scott and Todd Duncan; niece, April (Jerome) Dawson; sister-in-law, Betty Latimer; cousins Bill (Betty Jane) Schowalter; great-nephews, Jarrod and Jeremy (Morgan) Dawson; great-great-nephew, Hayden Lee Dawson; good friend, Beautiful Guest; and many other extended family members.

J.W. Martin III, 39, of Abilene, died May 2, 2025. He was born February 16, 1986, in Oklahoma City, OK, to J.W. and Donna L. (Myers) Martin Jr.

J.W. graduated from Nickerson High School in 2004 and Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in 2015. He was a patrol deputy for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department for over 10 years. J.W. was a gun and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed gaming and collecting eagles and dragons. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family - his daughter, Judy, was the love of his life.

J.W. is survived by: his daughter, Judith Lynn Marie Martin of Abilene; father, J.W. Martin Jr. (Cindy) of Hutchinson; mother, Donna Ivers (Mike) of Moore, OK; brothers, Trevor Yount (Jocelyn) of Lawrence; stepbrothers, Cody Herrin (Deanna) of Hutchinson, Troy Herrin (Sarah) of Bailey, CO; Judith’s mother, Auzia Leazer of Abilene, Judith’s brother, William; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Brandy Lynn Martin.

Rosalio “Chalio” Flores, de 65 años, falleció rodeado de su familia el domingo 2 de mayo de 2025 en su hogar en Hutchinson. Nació el 4 de septiembre de 1959 en Labor de Guadalupe, Rodeo, Durango, México, hijo de Leandro y Concepción (Rubio) Flores.

Chalio estudió en México y, poco después, se unió al ejército mexicano, sirviendo con orgullo a su país durante cuatro años. Tras emigrar a Estados Unidos, trabajó como ajustador de maquinaria para Tyson Foods, Hutchinson, y también fue miembro de la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, en South Hutchinson.

Chalio mantuvo un estilo de vida activo con ejercicios y actividades recreativas que amaba, como caminatas diarias, visitar las montañas de Colorado, disparar armas de fuego y pescar. Era un gran trabajador en su trabajo e incluso en casa; creía firmemente que con el trabajo duro se pueden lograr grandes cosas. Rosalio “Chalio” Flores, 65, died surrounded by his family, Sunday, May 2, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born September 4, 1959, in Labor de Guadalupe, Rodeo, Durango, Mexico, to Leandro and Concepcion (Rubio) Flores.&nbsp;

Chalio attended school in Mexico, and shortly after, joined the Mexican military, proudly serving his country for 4 years. &nbsp;After immigrating to the United States, he worked as a machine setter for Tyson Foods, Hutchinson, and was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. &nbsp;

Chalio maintained an active lifestyle through workouts and recreational activities he loved, such as daily walks, visiting the Colorado mountains, shooting guns, and fishing. He was a hard worker at his job and even at home, he was a firm believer that through hard work, one can achieve great things. However, the best times for him were the times he spent with his family.&nbsp;

On November 22, 1994, he married Guadalupe “Lupe” Garcia, in Alamosa, Colorado. They shared over 30 years of marriage. She survives.&nbsp;

Other survivors include: his sons, Raymundo Flores, Rosalio (Vanessa) Flores, and Luis Flores; grandchildren, Reyna, Octavion, Nicolas, and Lilliana Flores; siblings, Dionicio (Hermila) Flores, Juana Sarmiento, Maria Sarmiento, Concepcion (Rufina) Flores, Lazaro Flores, Leandro (Sulma) Flores Jr., Martha Flores, Pedro Flores, Jose (Ana) Flores, Jorge Flores, Prudencia (Pilar) Nuñez; and numerous family members.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Raquel Flores.&nbsp;

Parish rosary will be 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Eric Weldon officiating. Inurnment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Buhler Municipal East, 14842 E. 82nd &nbsp;Ave, Buhler. Jacquline Ann Revel, 91, died May 3, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi- St. Francis, Wichita. She was born December 18, 1933, in Hutchinson, to Kelvie and Violet (Basque) Brice- Nash.

Jacquline graduated from Hutchinson High School. She worked as a secretary for Lyons Middle School for many years.

In her spare time, Jacquline enjoyed watching NASCAR and doing crafts. She was an active member of the Lyons VFW and Lyons American Legion. Jacquline was a life-long resident of Lyons, then spent 30 years living with her daughter, Beckie in McPherson.

Jacquline is survived by: her daughters, Beckie (Jesse) Oden, Jeanie Maze, and Cindy Binkley; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Robert Revel; daughter, Debbie Reed; and companion, Duane McDermed.

A private family graveside service will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park.

Nicholas Deonta Rogers, 33, died on April 22, 2025, in Wichita. &nbsp;He was born October 7, 1991, in Waukegan, Illinois. &nbsp;He was later adopted by Arlen and Susan Goering.

Deonta worked for Lampton Welding in Hutchinson. &nbsp;

He had a passion for his music that he shared with Keyboy. &nbsp;Deonta’s music journey changed when he became a father to his three precious children to whom he was very devoted to.

Deonta had an infectious smile and quick sense of humor. &nbsp;He had a big heart. &nbsp;His compassion and empathy for others extended to many. &nbsp;He was a loyal friend and hard worker. &nbsp;He was a joy to be around.

He is survived by his: mother, Susan Goering (Arlen); children, Jamarion Rhodeman, Marking Rogers and Kahniyah Rogers; siblings, Ashley Rogers, Emily Rogers, Henry Rogers, Sara Andrea Gilbert, Asia Reedy, Wendy Martinez, Derrick Wright, Anastasia Rogers, April Taylor, Joseph Boyle, Erick Wyler and Debi Canady; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deonta was preceded in death by: maternal grandparents, MaryAnn and Willis Goering; and brothers, Matthew Rogers, Joshua York, and Jose Reedy.

Karen was born on February 11, 1951, in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of Vernon W. Page and Annabelle Jean (Jarvis) Triboulet. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Annabelle; children, Cheryl Barnes, David Collins, and Charles Mendenhall; and a brother, Timothy Page. 

Karen is survived by her three children, Martha Rochefort, Katherine Mendenhall and Timothy Mendenhall; seven siblings, Terry Page, Linda (Ron) Engstrom, Priscilla Page, Melody Bratcher, Tod Page, Verna (Danny Socha) Page and Doug Page; daughter-in-law, Amber Mendenhall; 27 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Burial will take place in Plevna Cemetery, Plevna, KS. Margaret Louise “Marg” Dwyer, 86, of Hutchinson, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born May 15, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Frank and Steffie (Bogdanovecz) Votruba.

Margaret graduated from St. Teresa Catholic High School and earned an AA in Business at Hutchinson Community College. After college, she met the love of her life, Dick Dwyer, and they were married on June 14, 1958, at St Teresa Catholic Church. Lifelong Hutchinson residents, they were blessed with 58 wonderful years of marriage. Margaret was a homemaker; together, they raised 3 children: Debbie, Susie, and Michael. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Margaret and Dick presented “Marriage Encounter” weekends for 9 years and “Evenings for the Engaged” marriage preparation classes for 26 years. She was a long-time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Margaret loved life and spent time with Dick, enjoying God’s nature, taking trips, lake time, reading, playing games, working in the yard with flowers, writing, camping, 4-wheeling in the Sandhills, taking pictures, and being involved in various church groups. She enjoyed her Cursillo faith group each week and playing cards with her two best friends. Margaret was a resource for advice and comfort, had a spontaneous and fun spirit, and had a great thirst for Jesus. She was artistic and enjoyed acrylic, oil, and watercolor painting. Later in life, Margaret found a new passion in photography, and this led her to start a photography business, Mdwyer Originals.

She is survived by: her 3 children, Debbie (Steve) Mullins of Hutchinson, Susie (Mark) Marshall of Wichita, and Michael (Renni) Dwyer of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren, Matt (Ashley) Mullins of Hutchinson, Jenny (A.J.) Wilson of Wichita, Chris (De’Nae) Mullins of Hutchinson, Joey (Stacy) Marshall of Derby, Sarah (Brent) Engel of Wichita, Jeremy (Susan) Marshall of Derby, Johnny (Tori) Marshall of Derby, Jamey Marshall and Jessy Marshall of Wichita, Ryan Dwyer and Zac Dwyer of Huntington Beach CA; great-grandchildren, Jasper, Crew, Christian, Claire, Beau, Catherine, Matthew, Patrick, Peter, Elizabeth, Lucas, Maria, Xavier, Gianna, Tacie, Cassie, Katie; and brother, Bob (Barb) Votruba of Texas. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, and her parents.

Margaret L. "Marg" Dwyer |1938-2025|

Don went to his heavenly home on April 30, 2025. Don found his life’s profession at the age of 25 when he started working for the Kansas Department of Corrections. He made this into a 30 year career before retiring in 2007 as the Deputy Warden of the El Dorado Correctional Facility. Don was born on April 11, 1952 (Good Friday) to Clifford Thomas and Edith Anduss Thomas Hutchinson, Kansas. He met the love of his life Nancy Schadler Thomas in Hutchinson, Kansas at Alco. They were married on November 5, 1977, forty seven years ago. They were blessed with three wonderful children, daughter Erika, son Randall and son Dustin, but these wonderful children had to take the back seat when Don and Nancy became grandparents to 11 wonderful, brilliant, and amazing grandchildren. Don loved traveling with his wife Nancy and together they traveled with various friends and he especially loved watching grandchildren in sports, concerts and plays. He also enjoyed watching the Butler Grizzlies play football and basketball and enjoyed family get-togethers.

Don is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, daughter Erika (Jason) VanFleet of Topeka, son Randall Thomas of Whitewater and son Dustin of Kechi. Grandchildren Dylan and Trent Gaskill, Sierra Thomas, Hailey Miller, Lily Thomas, Isabell (Izzy) VanFleet, Laci VanFleet, Logan VanFleet, Bradyn Thomas, Eli Thomas and Riley Thomas. Brother James (Teri) Thomas of Hutchinson, brother in law Frank Howell of Hutchinson, sister in law Kelly Thomas of Wichita, mother in law Doris Schadler-Clark of South Hutchinson, sister in law Melanie Hefton of Hutchinson, sister in law Rhonda (Arley) Philbrick of Hutchinson and brother in law Melvin (Donna) Schadler of Sterling along with many many nieces and nephews, cousins and lot of friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Stacy, brother Richard and sister in law Vicki Thomas, sister Toni Howell, sister Arnette and brother in law Pete Peterman, his twin brother Ron Thomas who was his life long friend and daughter in law Stephanie Thomas.

There will be a celebration of Don’s life on Monday, May 12, 2025 at First Baptist Church in El Dorado, KS at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Baptist Church.

 </figure>Don went to his heavenly home on April 30, 2025. Don found his life’s profession at the age of 25 when he started working for the Kansas Department of Corrections. He made this into a 30 year career before retiring in 2007 as the Deputy Warden of the El Dorado Correctional Facility. Don was born on April 11, 1952 (Good Friday) to Clifford Thomas and Edith Anduss Thomas Hutchinson, Kansas. He met the love of his life Nancy Schadler Thomas in Hutchinson, Kansas at Alco. They were married on November 5, 1977, forty seven years ago. They were blessed with three wonderful children, daughter Erika, son Randall and son Dustin, but these wonderful children had to take the back seat when Don and Nancy became grandparents to 11 wonderful, brilliant, and amazing grandchildren. Don loved traveling with his wife Nancy and together they traveled with various friends and he especially loved watching grandchildren in sports, concerts and plays. He also enjoyed watching the Butler Grizzlies play football and basketball and enjoyed family get-togethers.Don is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, daughter Erika (Jason) VanFleet of Topeka, son Randall Thomas of Whitewater and son Dustin of Kechi. Grandchildren Dylan and Trent Gaskill, Sierra Thomas, Hailey Miller, Lily Thomas, Isabell (Izzy) VanFleet, Laci VanFleet, Logan VanFleet, Bradyn Thomas, Eli Thomas and Riley Thomas. Brother James (Teri) Thomas of Hutchinson, brother in law Frank Howell of Hutchinson, sister in law Kelly Thomas of Wichita, mother in law Doris Schadler-Clark of South Hutchinson, sister in law Melanie Hefton of Hutchinson, sister in law Rhonda (Arley) Philbrick of Hutchinson and brother in law Melvin (Donna) Schadler of Sterling along with many many nieces and nephews, cousins and lot of friends.Don was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Stacy, brother Richard and sister in law Vicki Thomas, sister Toni Howell, sister Arnette and brother in law Pete Peterman, his twin brother Ron Thomas who was his life long friend and daughter in law Stephanie Thomas.There will be a celebration of Don’s life on Monday, May 12, 2025 at First Baptist Church in El Dorado, KS at 11:00 AM. Robert (Bob) Joseph Burkhart, of Hutchinson, KS, passed away peacefully at his home on May 4, 2025. Bob was born on November 13, 1947, in Spearville, KS, to Elred and Esther (Durler) Burkhart.

Bob grew up on a dairy farm just outside Kinsley, KS, where he later met his wife, Sheryl Eining of Spearville. They were married on August 10, 1968, and soon after began their family. After stops in Dodge City, Kinsley, and Liberal, they eventually settled in Hutchinson, where Bob worked for Betts Baking Company. When the opportunity arose to own a ServiceMaster Clean franchise, Bob and Sheryl took the leap. Together with their sons, they built a successful family-run business, where Bob worked happily for 41 years until his passing.

Outside of work, Bob cherished time with his family—whether hunting, racing, or spending time at Table Rock Lake. Never one to sit idle, he was often seen driving around town in search of a good deal or checking in on customers. His favorite time of year was the Kansas State Fair, where ServiceMaster Clean held the cleaning contract. For over 40 years, Bob could be found there from sunup to sundown, making his rounds on a golf cart. He never met a stranger and never turned down a bowl of ice cream.

Bob was a long-time member of Church of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and faithfully served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. He was also a proud brother Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 2131, Kinsley chapter.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheryl (Eining) Burkhart; sons Michael (Shelbi) of Hutchinson, Brent (Tammy) of Hutchinson, and Lance (Karen) of Overland Park; five grandchildren – Jake (fiancée Kate), Jhet (fiancée Tori), Peyton, Haley, and Isaac; siblings – Ron (Rhonda) of Kinsley, Mary Schneider of Topeka, Janel (Doug) Burr of Kinsley, Jim (Marilyn) of Goddard, Don (Julie) of Grain Valley, MO, Gerald (Judye) of Washington, OK, and Tom (Suzie) of Mulvane; as well as countless beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ken.

Bob was a true family man, and his sons and grandchildren were his greatest pride. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and deep devotion to those he loved will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.

Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. &nbsp; Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631, Independence Road, Hutchinson, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. &nbsp;Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family receiving friends Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until the Rosary begins.

Robert (Bob) Joseph Burkhart |1947-2025|

Shirlene Kay Kohler was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 15, 1962, to Erwin and Mary Kay Kohler. She grew up in Cheney, Kansas on the family farm. In the spring of 1982 Shirlene met Rex Roberts. They dated through college and were married in May of 1986 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon Kansas. In April of 1993 they were blessed by the birth of their daughter Courtney.

On May 1st of 2025 Shirlene passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her loving husband, Rex Roberts in Saratoga, Wyoming.

Shirlene leaves behind her husband, Rex Roberts of the home; daughter, Courtney Mann and husband, Torin Mann, granddaughters Jade and Ruby Mann of Little Falls, Minnesota; sister, Dell Strom and husband, Brad of Thornton, Colorado; sister, Kathy Fleegel and husband, Steve of Willmar, Minnesota; brother, Glen Kohler and wife, Michaeline of Cheney, Kansas. Nieces and Nephews; Steven Fleegel and family of Aberdeen, South Dakota; Kristina Paulson and family of Spicer, Minnesota; Thadd Strom of Boise, Idaho; Jackie Lara and family of Shakopee, Minnesota; Laura Dishman and family of Hutchinson, Kansas; Tyler Strom and family of Denver, Colorado; Ginger Hoover and family of Willmar, Minnesota; Michael Kohler and family of Anthony, Kansas.

Shirlene joins her beloved parents, Erwin and Mary Kay Kohler and numerous aunts and uncles.

Shirlene was a graduate of Kansas State University. She began her career with the Kansas Farm Bureau Insurance Company. Her and her husband later relocated to Denver, Colorado, where she had 35-year career as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter. She retired December 31st of 2024.

Vern Donald “Don” Davis, 89, died April 30, 2025, at Reflection Living, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born October 30, 1935, in Kansas City, MO, to Vern Wendell and Wilma Mattie (Phillips) Davis.&nbsp;

Don graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO. &nbsp;He worked as a graphic artist for Lowen Sign Company over 35 years. &nbsp;Don later opened his own company, Davis Art. &nbsp;He was a pilot, an avid outdoorsman, and loved backpacking and family vacations to the Colorado mountains. &nbsp;Don was a member of the Sign Painters Union in Kansas City, MO. &nbsp;He also volunteered for Noel Lodge and the Food Bank of Reno County. Don was the ultimate “girl dad”, raising five daughters and loving all his family unconditionally. &nbsp;He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

On My 28, 1955, he married Betty Jean Tallman, in Rogers, AR.&nbsp;

Don is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of almost 70 years, Betty Davis; daughters, Donna Davis, Jeanne Parsons, Janet Davis (Tom Clark), Laura Shea (Tony Oltman), and Sam Davis, all of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; his in-laws; grandson, Jacob Aich; son-in-law, Steve Parsons, and beloved sister, JoAnn McPeak.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Ave., Hutchinson, Inurnment will take place following the Mass in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. &nbsp;Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Vern "Don" D. Davis |1935-2025|

Norman Hugh Morray, Jr. was born May 5, 1949 in Emporia. He was the first child of Norman H. Morray, Sr. and Bonnie Sue (Colwell) Morray and was affectionately called Norm, Normie, or Stormie.

He grew up just north of No. 8 school house outside of Madison, KS and graduated with the class of 1967. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his mom working on his 4-H entomology project and attending auctions with his parents. During his high school years he enjoyed industrial arts projects and driving around in his 1938 Plymouth. He always laughed about the time he and some buddies laid the ’38 on its side one night but they righted it and away they went with no damage to the car and the old man never found out. He picked up the aggravating game of golf in high school and he and classmate Bobby Douglas became the ex-officio MHS golf team and competed well in tournaments.

Norm attended KSTC one year, worked at Anderson feed yard, read Emporia water meters, and eventually became a Farm Bureau Insurance agent. This led him to Hutchinson, KS in 1971, when he&nbsp;became an independent insurance agent. He sold insurance and played golf, or vice versa. He was a member of the hole in one club and was Prairie Dunes Club Champion in 1993. He loved entertaining family and friends at the ‘dunes’, his home away from home, just one block away.

But at the age of 68, Norm was struck down by a debilitating stroke. He managed as best he could with the help of dear friends, until such time he returned to Emporia to be closer to family. Normie’s last eight years have been very difficult for him. But now the difficulty is over. Norm died December 19 at Flint Hills CRC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Paul. He is survived by sisters Carol&nbsp;(Morray) Banister, Tamie (Morray) Fleming and husband Don, brother Brian Morray and wife Jana, plus many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be missed but perhaps we will meet again at the 19th hole.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Carey Park Junior Golf Association and sent to The Course at Carey Park, 9 Emerson Loop E, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
