
Billy Earl Slaven, 61, passed away August 15, 2026, at his residence in Hutchinson, KS. He was born February 14, 1965, in Newton, KS, to Frederick Lee and Vada Maxine (VanRossun) Slaven.
Billy was a dedicated and hardworking mechanic for 5-0 Tow N Repair in Burrton, KS. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his hardworking nature, reliability, and the lasting impact he made through both his work and his relationships with others.
In his spare time, Billy enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and engaging in Painting by Number on his phone. These quiet pastimes brought him a sense of peace. Above all, Billy’s faith was at the center of his life. He loved the Lord deeply, and enjoyed attending Newton Nazarene Church in Newton, with his brother, Dwight. He also had a special love for his cat, Jasmine, who Billy considered not only his companionship, but his family.
Billy is survived by: his siblings, Alice (Larry) Jantz of Newton, Sharon (Steve McGinn) Davis, and Dwight Slaven.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, 2brothers; and one sister.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
