Rebecca Ann “Becky” Royse, 67, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 9, 2021, at her home. She was born Aug. 17, 1953, in Hutchinson, to William and Mary (Tarvin) Rea.

Becky graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1971, and went on to Hutchinson Community College. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Trimmell in Hutchinson. Becky belonged to the Altar Guild at Emanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a member.

On Jan. 29, 2000, she married Randy Allen Royse, in Hutchinson. They shared 21 years of marriage together.

Becky is survived by: husband, Randy Royse, Hutchinson; daughter, Reagan Biggs (Nick), Goddard; son, Brent Parrish (Denise), Newton; stepsons, Scott and Jeremy Royse, both of Salina; sister, Melia Stoll (Roger), Liberal; brother, Bob Rea (Sue),&nbsp; Springdale, Arkansas; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sherry Lynn.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A recording of the service will be available on the Emanuel Lutheran Church YouTube page the week following the service. Sharen R. Morain, 77, of Haven, Kansas, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 11, 1943 in Burrton, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond James and Georganna (Baker) Riggins.

She graduated from Burrton High School with the class of 1961.

Sharen was a long-time resident of Liberal, Kansas, where she worked several jobs as a hairdresser, travel agent and jewelry store clerk.

She was united in marriage to James Morain on August 26, 1987 in Liberal.&nbsp; He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her children, Chris (Mary) McElwain of Halstead and Michelle (Scott) Jackson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Sharen was preceded in death by her parents.

Larry C. Miller, 79, of Newton, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021. He was born October 17, 1941 in Harper, Kansas, the son of Norman and Ruth (Stutzman) Miller.

He was a graduate of Attica High School and Hesston College.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Crystal Springs. He was a farmer and mechanic, working alongside his father at Miller Machine Shop, developing the same skills and abilities as his father. Larry was sensitive, intelligent, a good worker, creative and had good mechanical aptitude. They both had the ability to create, build, or modify machines to perform certain jobs/tasks better and more efficiently. He eventually took ownership of the shop and changed the name to Crystal Springs Machine Shop.

Our family is grateful for Larry’s friends and neighbors in the Crystal Springs community who looked out for him and alerted us when Larry began having difficulties with dementia.

Larry is survived by his sister, Margaret (Harold) Winsinger of Hesston; brother, Keith (Lois) Miller of Edwardsburg, Michigan; niece, Brenda (Bruce) Eitzen of Hesston; nephews, Randy (Christy) Winsinger of Dunnellon, Florida, Bradden (Kristen) Miller of Anacortes, Washington, and David (Lindsay) Miller of Granger, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ruth Miller.

Chester L. Koehn, 103, was born in rural Moundridge on Jan. 20, 1918 to David and Susie (Boese) Koehn. He passed away peacefully at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas on Feb. 7, 2021.&nbsp;

 He served in the army in World War II, from Dec. 8, 1942 until being honorably discharged on Dec. 4, 1945. For almost 55 years, he was a member of American Legion Post #340 of Moundridge.&nbsp;

Prior to his service, he met Leola R. Wedel. Their relationship grew, but was interrupted by his service. They continued to correspond during his absence, and upon his return, they married on June 30, 1946 at Emmanuel Mennonite Church. They enjoyed over 71 years together, until she passed away on May 6, 2018. His remaining years alone were filled with the pain of the loss of her.

He is survived by a son Lyle Koehn and wife Joyce (Lutz) of Wichita; three granddaughters, Julie Sinak (Matthew) of St. Louis, MO., Victoria Cornitius (Matthew), of Wright, KS, and Rebecca Koehn of Kansas City, KS; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Wiggers of Moundridge; sister-in-law, Norma (Eck) Koehn of Moundridge; brother-in-law, Gerald (Joyce) Wedel of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven and wife Bette (Cripe); five brothers, Martin (Mike), Lewis, Herman, Robert and Leonard; four sisters, Laura (Koehn) Koehn, Selma R. Koehn, Amanda A. Koehn and Maizie Mae Koehn.

After several years at Emmanuel, Chester and Leola became and remained active members of West Zion Mennonite Church until their passing.&nbsp;

After the army, Chester worked for the Goering Hardware Implement until his retirement in the 1980s. After his retirement, he spent his time building woodworking projects, including six Grandmother Clocks, many metal jigs, templates and several miniature steam engines.&nbsp;

Beverly White, 79, formerly of Hutchinson, died Feb. 7, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Texas. She was born Sept. 1941, to Charles R. and Opal O. Culver.

Beverly graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. She was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson until 16 months ago when she lived with her daughter and family in Houston, Texas.&nbsp; She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, active in the United Methodist Women, and served on various church committees and organizations.&nbsp; In addition, Beverly volunteered at the American Red Cross Blood Mobile, Fair Price Clothing, and Sew ‘N Sews.&nbsp; She was named Reno County’s “Hometown Hero” in 2014.&nbsp; Beverly worked for Dillons, Collingwood Grain, and the Kansas State Fair.&nbsp; Her most cherished job was a stay-at-home mother for many years.

Beverly married Richard (Dick) Caywood in 1962, and they had three children: Richard (Rick), Timothy (Tim), and Julie. In 1981, she married Thornton (Todd) White, who had four adult children: Debbie, Ty, Marsha, and Hoby.

Beverly is survived by: children, Rick (Rondi) Caywood, Tim (Jenny) Caywood, all of Hutchinson, Julie (Wes) Cooper of Tomball, TX, Debbie (Mike) Zarnowski, and &nbsp;Marsha (Jim) Barnes, both of Hutchinson; brother, Robert Culver of Hutchinson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: Todd, after sharing 39 years of marriage; her parents; a sister, Mary Beth (Friesen) Simpson; and sons, Hoby White and Ty White.&nbsp;

Dr. Dean Carter, 74, died Feb. 6, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; He was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Cresco, IA, to Lawrence and Adelaide (Lickteig) Carter.

He moved to Hutchinson in 1975 and opened Carter Podiatry Center in South Hutchinson, until his retirement. Dr. Carter was involved in the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps, and enjoyed golfing and attending high school sporting events. He was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, and was faithful in reciting the rosary daily.

Dr. Carter is survived by two sisters; one sister-in-law; four nieces; one nephew; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, with Father Aaron Spexarth officiating. &nbsp;Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin, MN.&nbsp;

Sylvia Sue Morley, 80, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 6, 2021, at her home. She was born Dec. 10, 1940, in her home in rural Chase County, to Allen and Alice (McCracken) Bond.

Sylvia graduated from Matfield Green High School and Friends Bible College. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Education from Emporia State University. Sylvia’s teaching career spanned 43 years as she taught English at the middle school, high school, and college levels at Lyons, Valley Center, Belleville, Dighton, Utica, Chase County, and Barclay College.

She was an avid reader and quilter, and enjoyed needlework of all kinds. Sylvia was a member of Hutchinson Friends Church and was very involved in Friends Women and One Mission Society. She was a church pianist for many years and her ultimate piano experience was accompanying the Barclay College Choir one semester.

Sylvia’s biggest accomplishment was her daughter, Nancy. She loved being a part of her life by attending all of her activities and sporting events. Once Sylvia’s grandchildren came along, that just added another delight to her life.

Sylvia married Loren D. Morley in 1977. He died in 1990.

She is survived by daughter, Nancy Whiteman and husband Mark of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Rebecca, Austin, Nicholas, Lukas Whiteman; and 12 first cousins.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Bond; stepsister, Vonna Fine; and stepbrother, Virgil Scott.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Hutchinson Friends Church, 1200 E 14th&nbsp;Ave. Burial will be 3 p.m. in Homestead Cemetery, Cedar Point. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Sylvia’s teaching career spanned 43 years as she taught English at the middle school, high school, and college levels at Lyons, Valley Center, Belleville, Dighton, Utica, Chase County, and Barclay College.She was an avid reader and quilter, and enjoyed needlework of all kinds. Sylvia was a member of Hutchinson Friends Church and was very involved in Friends Women and One Mission Society. She was a church pianist for many years and her ultimate piano experience was accompanying the Barclay College Choir one semester.Sylvia’s biggest accomplishment was her daughter, Nancy. She loved being a part of her life by attending all of her activities and sporting events. Once Sylvia’s grandchildren came along, that just added another delight to her life.Sylvia married Loren D. Morley in 1977. Ruby Jean Oldehoeft, 88, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 6, 2021, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Assaria, to Martin and Anna (Pearson) Olson.

Ruby graduated from Assaria High School in 1950. She was a homemaker and also worked for JC Penney’s in Emporia. Ruby loved to go fishing with her husband and spend time with her grandchildren. Her loss will be deeply felt by all that knew her. Ruby was kind to everyone she met and special to her caretakers, as well as her family.&nbsp; She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

On Nov. 29, 1953, Ruby married Wilfred Walter Oldehoeft in Assaria. They shared nearly 64 years together before he passed away on Nov. 3, 2018.

She is survived by daughter, Kris Crainer, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Caleb Crainer, Los Angeles, California, Holly Binns (Brad), Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Merrick Binns, Hutchinson; brothers, Arthur Olson, Rancho Cucamunga, California, John (Mary) Olson, Salina; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilfred Oldehoeft; sisters, Mary Anne Daily, Bette Burdette; and brothers, Carl and Raymond Olson.

Ineta Ruth Studebaker, 100, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 5, 2021, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Windom, Ks. to Walter and Edna (Bengston) Neel.

Ineta graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1938, attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated from Kansas State University. On June 11, 1945, she married John Thomas Studebaker, in San Francisco, California. He passed away May 8, 2010.

Ineta and Tom owned and operated the “Studebaker Jewelry Store” in Haven, Ks. for many years. Later, Ineta worked as an accountant for Krause Plow Corporation.

Tom and Ineta were instrumental in establishing the Haven Church of Christ in 1977.&nbsp;

Ineta loved quilting and traveling. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson.

Ineta is survived by sons, John Studebaker, Lenexa, Ks., David (Susan) Studebaker, Valley Center, Ks., Greg (Carol) Studebaker, Gladstone, Missouri; daughter, Nancy Fair, Wichita, Ks., 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and sister, Marlyne Nininger, Hutchinson.

Brett Andrew Adcock, 61, of McPherson, died Feb. 4, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. He was born July 2, 1959, in Hutchinson, to Clark and Donna (Curtiss) Adcock.

Brett graduated from McPherson High School in 1977, where he was a standout athlete, until two knee injuries kept him from furthering his athletic career. After high school, Brett went to work for Johns Manville, McPherson, where he worked for over 40 years. Known as a workaholic, he also owned Andrews Lawn Service. He would mow lawns in the morning, and then go to work at Johns Manville in the afternoon.&nbsp; Recently, he helped his girlfriend with her salsa business-- working as a sales representative for Sabroso Salsa.&nbsp; In his spare time, Brett enjoyed hunting; especially ducks, geese, and turkeys. He was an avid K-State football fan.&nbsp; Brett was of the Methodist faith.

Brett is survived by his mom, Donna of McPherson; daughter, Monica Conyers (Sean) of Wichita; sisters, Jana Myers (Jimmy) and Carrie Clark (Curt), all of McPherson; five grandchildren; girlfriend, Roxie Cummings of Wichita; and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clark Adcock and son, Brandon Clark Adcock.

Ronald served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.&nbsp; He worked as a self-employed carpenter building homes in California, and in the Maintenance Department at Laramie County Community College, Laramie, WY.&nbsp; Ronald and his wife also served as house parents at the Cathedral Home (a home for children), Laramie, WY.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and singing karaoke.

Alden ‘Andy’ Albert Anderson, 92, passed away Feb. 2, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS. He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in Clermont, IA, to Albert and Alma (Ostle) Anderson.

Andy was a 1946 graduate of Clermont High School, Clermont, IA. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953. Andy was employed by Big Chief Buildings for over 30 years, and Farmland Industries as the Human Resources Manager, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed working and always had a side job. Andy was the owner/operator of Triple A Trash Service that was eventually sold to Stutzman Refuse Disposal.&nbsp; He drove an activity bus for Unified School District 309 Nickerson-South Hutchinson from 1983 to 1996.&nbsp; He always said that there was nothing better than getting paid to watch his grandchildren at their activities.&nbsp; Andy also worked for Ramsey Oil for several years.&nbsp;

He enjoyed playing card games, dominoes, camping, and boating.&nbsp; Andy and his wife loved to travel. They would spend their winters at the Fountain of Youth Spa in California.&nbsp; He was a longtime member of the Nickerson United Methodist Church, Nickerson, KS.&nbsp;

On August 2, 1953, he married Ethel Agnes Pickle, in Jamestown, KS.&nbsp; They shared over 67 years of marriage.

Andy is survived by his wife, Aggie Anderson of Nickerson, KS; children, Gary (Jo Anne) Anderson of Ocean Shores, WA, Larry Anderson of Nickerson, KS, Janice (Troy) Coon of Hutchinson, KS, Connie (Robert) Yost of Pottsboro, TX, and Brenda (Steven) Guisinger of Moore, OK; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Don served in the United States Army from July 1959 to August 1964.&nbsp; He worked as a forklift operator at Morton Salt Company, South, Hutchinson, retiring with over 26 years of service.&nbsp; Don’s enjoyment for visiting with people was evidenced as he worked as an outside gate ticket taker at the Kansas State Fairgrounds and as a door greeter at Walmart.

On May 6, 1960, he married Mary L. Francis.&nbsp; They shared over 22 years of marriage, prior to her death on December 27, 1982. Don married Anita Joan Cook on May 24, 1984, in Hutchinson. They shared over 36 years of marriage, prior to his death.

He is survived by his children, April (Michael) Root, Donald Cook Jr., Candy (Rick) Bell, and Jimmy (Christina) Cook, Sr., all of Hutchinson; wife, Anita Cook of Hutchinson; four stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Francis (mother of his children); sons, Joseph Randolph Cook and Alex Lee Cook; granddaughter, Skyler Rain; and brothers, Jimmy Cook and Carl Cook.

Elaine Joyce Schroeder, 76, of Goessel, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born Aug. 15, 1944 in Dallas, Oregon, the daughter of Norman Andrew and Verna (Quiring) Kroeker.

She was in the Henderson Community Schools class of 1962 and graduated from Bethel College with a bachelor's degree in Education. She began teaching English at Peabody High School in 1966 and was there for three years, and then taught at Goessel High School for many years. Elaine was a devoted gardener, knitter, Anglophile, political conversationalist and most of all a READER. She especially loved books about books. Although she had no children of her own, she loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as her own.

Elaine was united in marriage to Herby Schroeder, Jr. on Nov. 27, 1966 in Henderson, Nebraska. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include brothers, Glen (Bonnie) Kroeker of Juniata, NE, Donald (Sandra) Kroeker and Max (Patricia) Kroeker, all of Henderson, NE; sisters, Gladys (Clement) Christopherson of Squaw Valley, CA, Doris (Robert) House of Topeka, KS; sister-in-law, Mary Schroeder (Jerol) Jones of Newton, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Vesta Kroeker.

Margie Jo McDaniel of Hesston, Kansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 4, 2021. She was born Aug. 14, 1954 in Coffeyville, KS, the daughter of Don and Frankie (Wilson) Haines.

She was a 1972 graduate of Follett High School in Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Panhandle State University, Goodwell, OK in 1977.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On June 26, 1976 Margie married Mark McDaniel of Ulysses, KS. Mark and Margie lived in Ulysses for 42 years, where Margie touched the lives of many students in her 33 years as an elementary teacher at Sullivan Elementary School. She was active at Patterson Avenue Church of God and Oasis Assembly of God while living in Ulysses. Mark and Margie moved to Hesston in 2018 and are members of Hesston Mennonite Brethren Church.

Margie is survived by her loving husband Mark; daughter, Amy (Joshua) Tolle; grandchildren, Kimberly, Candice, and Jonathan (JJ), all of Hesston; father, Don Haines of Follett, TX; brothers, Duane (Jody) Hodges of Hooker, OK, Rene (Pam) Haines of Hennessey, OK; sisters, Theresa Davis of El Reno, OK, Donna Haines of Ulysses, KS; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; her mother, Frankie Haines; and brother-in-law, Brian Davis.

Brenda Joy Young, 58, died peacefully, with her husband, Myron, by her side, Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 2, 1962, in Phoenix, AZ, to Harvey Arthur and Ruth Jeannette (Classen) Ebersole.

Brenda graduated from Central Christian High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She was a self-employed artist, working with a variety of art mediums. Brenda also enjoyed all types of music, ranging from rock to classical. Riding her Harley-Davidson and going to the lake were two hobbies she looked forward to with her husband and mother.&nbsp;

On Oct. 15, 1993, she married Myron Young in Hutchinson. They shared over 27 years of marriage.

Brenda is survived by husband, Myron of Hutchinson; father, Harvey Ebersole of Peoria, AZ, son, Brian Schmitz (Angel) of Hutchinson; grandson, Harvey Schmitz; sister, Wendy Kitchen (Blaine) of Rochester, MA; brother, Lynn Ebersole of Hutchinson; stepsons, Cole Young (Lisa) of Frisco, TX, Troy Young (Hannah) of Turon; step-grandchildren, Cinch Young, and Lily, Cate, and Anna Young; and extended family, Ronni Baldwin.&nbsp; Brenda treasured all her relationships, and considered everyone family.

&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her mother.

Paul “Pablo” Medina, 70, residing at the Sunshine home in Buhler Kansas entered eternal rest on Jan. 26, 2021. He was born June 19, 1950 in Austin Texas to Paul and Monica Medina.

Paul was a father, husband, grandfather, and collector of many different items. He found that everything had a special meaning and believed that keepsakes were important. His favorite thing to collect was pens, pencils, tapes, and CDs. Some of his favorite past times were that he loved to tell stories even if they were a stretch from the truth. He was fascinated by thunderstorms. One of his favorite things to do was to go to the thrift stores to shop. He also enjoyed going to the Kansas State fair to visit the booths. He loved music especially older and contemporary gospel and country.

He had many jobs with the most recent being employed by the Salvation Army of Hutchinson KS as a truck driver/helper for several years until he had to retire due to medical conditions in 1995.

On Feb. 1, 1980 he married Kathryn Ann Worley, she survives. They also had two children Crystal Medina Wingert (Jason) of Hutchinson and Daniel Medina of Hutchinson. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Pete Medina in California, and one grandchild (Phillip Coppock).

Surviving relatives include Victor Medina and Tony Medina both of Hutchinson.

Ernestine Janette Sivils, 76, of Partridge, died Feb. 2, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Floyd and Ruth (Cooper) Eisiminger.&nbsp;

Ernestine graduated from Partridge Rural High School in 1962, and then went on to become an X-RAY technician for many years before meeting her husband Kenny. She was co-owner/operator of Sivils 50/50 Farm, Partridge for over 50 years. Ernestine also was a big part in helping Tawnya with the Flower and Gift Gallery, Hutchinson, from 1993-2008. Ernestine was a loving wife, mother, and “Nana” to five lucky grandchildren, and friend to many. Ernestine was a member of Partridge Community Church.

On April 11, 1966, she married the love of her life and best friend Kenny Sivils, in Partridge. They shared nearly 55 years of love, farming, fishing, traveling, and marriage together.

Ernestine is survived by her husband Kenny; children, son Tracy Sivils (Karen), of Inman, and daughter Tawnya Harner (Doug), of Partridge; grandchildren, Connor and Brock Sivils of Inman, Colby, Shelby, and Haley Harner of Partridge; a sister, Patricia White, of Roscoe, TX; and numerous extended family members.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Tom Miller and Pastor Sheridan Irick officiating. Burial will follow in Partridge Cemetery. Stephen P. Thomas, 73, died on Jan. 30, 2021 at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born Aug. 3, 1947 in Great Bend, KS., the son of Neil and Rita (Malone) Thomas.

Stephen graduated from Sterling High School in 1965 and attended technical college in Colorado. On Jan. 9, 1967 Stephen enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on Oct. 24, 1968. On May 1, 1987 he married Carol Thompson in Hutchinson. Stephen owned and operated Salt City Shuttle. He enjoyed coin collecting. His family said he could spend hours looking through coins.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marie Harville.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, a son, Michael (Angela) Stout; a grandson, Devin Stout; brothers, John Thomas and Terry (Debbie) Thomas and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn M. Barr, 79, passed away Sunday Jan. 31, 2021, at Country 
Place Memory Care, in Hoisington. She was born Jan. 3, 1942, in 
Pratt, the daughter of Arthur and Merle (Hollopeter) Jones. She was 
united in marriage to Gary Barr May 30, 1979 in Hoisington.

Carolyn has been a resident of Hoisington since 1979, coming from 
LaCrosse. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Great
 Bend. She was a Sunday school teacher and worked with missionaries. She
 was a member of the Kansas Appaloosa Horse Association and 4-H. Carolyn
 enjoyed showing horses, sewing, baking, and doing crossword puzzles. 
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include; her husband Gary of the home; children James Brehm
 and wife Deborah of Perry, Desda Brehm of South Carolina, Steven Barr 
and wife Debbie of Cimarron, David Barr and wife Patricia of Wichita, 
Kevin Barr and wife Susan of Minco, Oklahoma, Brad Barr of Hutchinson, 
Kimberly Schneweis and husband Eugene of Hoisington, and Pamela Douglas 
of Houston, Texas; sister, Margaret Hilt of Pratt; twenty-five 
grandchildren including; Michele Berends, Heather Helvie, Alesia 
Schneweis, Jameson, Jenna, and Brandi Brehm, Lezzus Rogers&nbsp; and 
thirty-five great grandchildren including; Matthew, Isabelle, and Isaiah
 Mayers, Izaiah Flowers, Chole and Chance McCain. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, an infant daughter, grandson, Jace Richardson, 
sister, Sharon Jones and brother-in-law, Ivan Hilt.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial 
services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at New Life Baptist 
Church in Hoisington with Pastor Denny Lewis presiding.

Pratt, the daughter of Arthur and Merle (Hollopeter) Jones. She was 
united in marriage to Gary Barr May 30, 1979 in Hoisington.Carolyn has been a resident of Hoisington since 1979, coming from 
LaCrosse. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Great
 Bend. She was a Sunday school teacher and worked with missionaries. She
 was a member of the Kansas Appaloosa Horse Association and 4-H. Carolyn
 enjoyed showing horses, sewing, baking, and doing crossword puzzles. 
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Survivors include; her husband Gary of the home; children James Brehm
 and wife Deborah of Perry, Desda Brehm of South Carolina, Steven Barr 
and wife Debbie of Cimarron, David Barr and wife Patricia of Wichita, 
Kevin Barr and wife Susan of Minco, Oklahoma, Brad Barr of Hutchinson, 
Kimberly Schneweis and husband Eugene of Hoisington, and Pamela Douglas 
of Houston, Texas; sister, Margaret Hilt of Pratt; twenty-five 
grandchildren including; Michele Berends, Heather Helvie, Alesia 
Schneweis, Jameson, Jenna, and Brandi Brehm, Lezzus Rogers&nbsp; and 
thirty-five great grandchildren including; Matthew, Isabelle, and Isaiah
 Mayers, Izaiah Flowers, Chole and Chance McCain. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, an infant daughter, grandson, Jace Richardson, 
sister, Sharon Jones and brother-in-law, Ivan Hilt.There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial 
services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at New Life Baptist

Gerald (Jerry) Dean Critchfield, age 82 of Le Grand, IA, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2021, with his family by his side.

Services for Jerry will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Jerry was born in Englewood, Colorado, on May 27, 1938, to Denzel and Leiva (Schierkolk) Critchfield. He grew up in northwest Kansas with his 3 younger brothers. After graduating from Moreland High School in 1957, Jerry enlisted in the Army National Guard.

On Oct. 6, 1958, Jerry was married to LynnaVee Lou Cornelius in Medford, Oklahoma. Jerry and Lynn raised five boys during their 62 years of marriage while living in both Burrton, Kansas, and Conrad, Iowa. He made a living buying and selling rebuildable auto parts.

Jerry was an avid KU Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs fan. On a spring and summer day, you would find him either out at the lake fishing or in his garden. He loved watching western shows and spending time with his cats. He was also a dedicated scrap metal recycler for most of his life. 

Jerry is survived his wife Lynn; sons Galen of Osawatomie, KS; Terry (Karren) of Burrton, KS; David (Debbie) of Marshalltown, IA; Nolen (Patty) of Burrton, KS; Larry (Nicole) of Conrad, IA. Grandchildren: Randi (Mike) Williams, Jaime (Hobz) Hooley, Jordan (JD) Soy, Cody, Byron (Jena), Dallas, Sara (Josh) Durner, Brady, Caleb (Jubilee), Chelsea (Matt) Wingfield, Tyler, Austin, Lacy, Dalton, and Cameron. Great- grandchildren: Bryant, Kennedy, Levi, Ashtyn, Lincoln, Madeline, Cooper, Gable, Ben, Ryan, Logan, Harvi, and Rayne. Brothers Darrell (Cathey) Critchfield of Hill City, KS; sister-in- law Sharon Davis of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law Doyle Cornelius of Reno, NV. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Darwin.

Diane Marie Batcheller Wilkins was born March 27, 1944 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of&nbsp;David Earl and Bernadette “Odella” (Dandurand) Batcheller. She was an only child and grew up in McPherson, Kansas.&nbsp; The family later moved to Bennington, Kansas where she graduated from High School in 1962. She attended Nursing School at the Halstead Hospital School of Nursing in Halstead, Kansas where she graduated in 1965. Upon graduating, she worked as a registered nurse at St. John’s Hospital in Salina, Kansas. She was married to Thomas Unruh July 31, 1965. They moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1966 where they raised their children Susan and Jeff. She&nbsp;worked as the Emergency Room Night Supervisor at Aurora Presbyterian Medical Center and later was employed at Humana Hospital. Besides working as a nurse, she volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader, School Nurse, and also worked as a Reserve Police Officer for the Aurora Police Department. Diane and Tom divorced in 1984, but remained good friends. Diane moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1987 where she worked at Cheyenne Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Units for almost three years. She married John E. Wilkins from Cut Bank, Montana on August 26, 1990.&nbsp;They lived and worked on a cattle ranch near Cut Bank for several years. While in Montana, she also worked as an RN at the Toole County Hospital in Shelby.

Diane and John moved to Minneapolis, Kansas in 1997 where they enjoyed their life in the country. Her last formal nursing job before retirement was at the Ottawa County Health Center. Diane and John moved to Centralia, Illinois in 2010. In December of 2012 they moved to Canton, Kansas where they enjoyed going to the senior center, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. John E. Wilkins preceded her in death on July 9, 2017. She met her companion James Webb from Mena, Arkansas in latter 2017.&nbsp;They enjoyed each other’s company while making new friends in both Kansas and Arkansas.&nbsp;They provided much comfort and support for each other.&nbsp;Diane entered into eternal rest on Jan. 28, 2021 in Mena, Arkansas after a courageous battle with cancer.

Diane is survived by her two children, Dr. Susan Elaine (Unruh) Bobes and husband, David&nbsp;of Kerens, West Virginia and Jeffrey Allen Unruh and wife Julie of Wilton, Connecticut; Five grandchildren: Megan Bobes, Dalton Bobes, Riana Bobes, David Unruh and Sean Unruh and a host of other relatives and friends. Diane worked as a registered nurse for 40 years and loved her career in nursing.&nbsp; She always wanted to take care of people in every sense and would always be the first person to want to help when people were in need. She loved her family, friends and her social life, and thoroughly enjoyed attending the Canton United Methodist Church and socializing at the senior center, especially playing dominos. She also liked to travel. She had a true devotion for&nbsp;her dogs (she always had several at any given time) and she was an avid Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs fan.&nbsp; She will be missed dearly. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date in Canton (Spring 2021). In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Canton Senior Center, in care of Olson's Mortuary,&nbsp;Canton.
