Hunter Dennis Emerson, 21, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born October 7, 1999, in Newton, Kansas, the son of Patrick J. and Paula M. (Stika) Emerson.
He graduated from Moundridge High School with the class of 2018. Hunter later graduated from Pratt Community College with an Electrical Powerline Technology degree in 2020.
During high school, Hunter worked for Kaufman Dairy and Moundridge Communication Network. He currently was an apprentice lineman for Evergy.
Hunter enjoyed ATV riding and spending time with his family, friends, and dog, Buddy. He was known for being very sociable. He loved being outdoors; spending time at the lake, where he would go boating and wakeboarding. In high school, he was involved in football, wrestling, and baseball.
Hunter is survived by his parents, Pat and Paula Emerson of Moundridge; brother, Matthew Levi (Katelyn) Emerson of Overland Park; sister, Elly Emerson of Moundridge; maternal grandfather, LaVerne Stika, Sr. of Herington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wallace M. and Mary E. (Black) Emerson; and maternal grandmother, Ella Mae (Tajchman) Stika.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, 1200 E Kansas Avenue, McPherson, KS 67460. A private family inurnment will take place.
