Emma Jean (Mead) Eck, 87, Office Administrator for the London, Ontario Board of Education, died September 15, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 19, at the Emmanuel Church Cemetery, 2161 Comanche Rd., Galva.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Allen Eck; parents, Max and Thelma Mead; brother, Billy Mead; and sister, Maxine Curfman.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Jay Henderson of Lambeth, Ontario; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lanita Eck of Andale; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Brett Marshall of Treasure Island, Florida; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Lindsey, Luke, Lacey, and Colby; three great-grandchildren, Gunner, Sawyer, and Lawrence.

Hugo G. Kickhaefer was born October 24, 1931, to Ewaldt and Lizzie (Schlesener) Kickhaefer on the family farm in rural Woodbine. He was confirmed on June 17, 1945 at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Shadybrook. 

Hugo graduated from Woodbine High School in 1949 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force, stationed in Wichita. While serving in the Air Force, he met and later married Donna (Wheat) Kickhaefer on October 02, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Jewell. They returned to Herington where they farmed for five years. In 1960, Hugo began working for Evans Grain Co. managing the grain elevator in Marysville until 1975. At that time, Hugo and Donna purchased the grain elevator at Latimer, which they owned and managed until their retirement.

Hugo loved the outdoors. He especially loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. One of his favorite activities was driving around to check on the farms and crops. He also enjoyed oil painting, playing cards, and woodworking in his free time. Hugo loved taking his grand-dog Bella to the park on his scooter. He loved telling stories of his time growing up with eleven siblings and many cousins, harassing the teachers in the country school that he attended, his time in the Air Force as a mechanic on the large bombers, and playing baseball. He and Donna explored most of the United States and Canada on a number of trips with friends. Most of all, Hugo loved his family and found joy in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hugo’s faith was important to him. When he could no longer see to read his Bible, he would listen to the audio version. He was also a reliable volunteer at the church when the lawn needed mowing or a variety of other trustee duties.

Hugo, at the age of 90, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Herington. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ewaldt and Lizzie Kickhaefer, siblings Virgil Kickhaefer, Gerhardt Kickhaefer, Orville Kickhaefer, Alvin Kickhaefer, Levi Kickhaefer, Rosalie Tucker, and infant brother, Walter Max Kickhaefer. 

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donna; children Marta (Jerry) Bengtson, Kenneth (Barb) Kickhaefer, Gary (Carrie) Kickhaefer, and Lori Kickhaefer Keazirian; grandchildren Lindsay (Shawn) Billinger, Brooklyn (Jake) Woolard, Mica Bengtson, Jonathan (Payden) Kickhaefer, Maggie (Austin) Lord, Zachary (Julia) Kickhaefer, Nathan (Chandler) Kickhaefer, Taylor Kickhaefer, and Jennifer Beames; great grandchildren Braelyn Billinger, Brynna Billinger, Brant Billinger, Brooks Billinger, Rhett Woolard, Everly Woolard, Hunter Kickhaefer, Lake Kickhaefer, Blaine Lord, Claire Kickhaefer, Delaney Kickhaefer, and Levi Kickhaefer; and by siblings Marvel Birchfield, Linda (Don) Gruidel, Lavada (Rob) Gleissner, Eugene (Ruth) Kickhaefer, and Robert Kickhaefer; also many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral service for Hugo will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the church with interment to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, rural Woodbine. Michael Lee Godwin, 46, of Mcpherson, passed away at 3:15 p.m, Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. Michael was born in McPherson, on August 20, 1976, a son of Allen Ray Brown and Judith Diane (Hill) Godwin and was adopted in 1980. Michael attended McPherson grade schools, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson. He then attended Bethany College on a football and track scholarship, Lindsborg, Kansas where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Science in 1998. Michael was the owner and operator of Mac Movers Moving Company in McPherson. Michael Lee Godwin was united in marriage Jesse Jo Jones on June 3, 2000 in Canton. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters and a son Peyton and Kenzee and Jace. He is survived by his wife, Jesse Godwin, of McPherson; his daughters, Peyton Turner and Kenzee Godwin, of McPherson; his son, Jace Godwin, of McPherson; hisbrother Matt Godwin, of McPherson. and his Dad, Allen Brown. Michael enjoyed and loved the KC Chiefs, fishing, grilling, Peyton's art work, all the kids sporting events, traveling and spending time with his friends and family. He is also survived by 1 grandson, Wilder Turner. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Godwin, his grandparents, Fred and Betty Hill and adopted father Jim Godwin. Delosse Earl Cox, 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home in Hutchinson. Delosse was born April 12, 1959 in Fort Estes, WV to Richard and Wanda (Daniel) Cox. &nbsp;He attended Sterling High School and graduated in 1978. &nbsp;In 1982 he married Louise Hauschild in Kansas.&nbsp; They had one daughter, Tiffeney.&nbsp; Delosse and Louise later divorced. He worked for Coca Cola Industries for 15 years and also worked for Jadansa Inc. as a truck driver for more than 20 years.&nbsp; He was a devoted KU fan and never missed a single football or basketball game. Delosse is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Cox. He is survived by his daughter, Tiffeney (Gene) Reed of Hutchinson; two sisters, Tammy Jones and Teresa Cox; a brother, Butch Cox; and four grandchildren. Per Delosse’s wishes, his remains have been donated to the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine to help the students at KU further their studies. There will be no services held at this time. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Mickey Yvonne Jones, 79, died September 13, 2022, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born December 3, 1942, in Kingman, to Eugene E. and Elizabeth “Dixie” (Dixon) Fisher.

Mickey graduated from Fairfield South High School, Turon.&nbsp; She received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Fort Hays State University, where she was certified to teach both instrumental and vocal music. After graduation, Mickey found her true passion as an elementary school vocal music teacher.&nbsp; She instilled her infectious love of music to her students and two children.&nbsp; Mickey also taught in her home both private voice and piano lessons, and prepared hundreds of students for music contests. Prior to moving to Hutchinson, Mickey was active in the Bucklin United Methodist Church, where she served as choir director, and was a member of the Dodge City Sweet Adelines.&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition, Mickey was the director for the 21st&nbsp;Century Learning Academy in Mullinville, helping countless students receive their high school diploma.&nbsp; Mickey enjoyed collecting Hummels, and was member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson and DOERS Sunday school class.

On December 22, 1963, she married John Paul Jones, at College Hill United Methodist Church, Wichita.

Mickey is survived by:&nbsp; her husband of almost 59 years, John Paul of Hutchinson; children, Jason Jones (Tracy) of Hesston, Jacque Wilburn (Darren) of Overland Park; sister, Donna Fisher of Wichita; grandchildren, Alexander Eckhoff (Kayla), Nicholas Eckhoff, Jace Jones, Chrision Wilburn, Alayna Wilburn, Kyra Wilburn, Dalyn Wilburn, and Quinton Wilburn; great-grandson, Elliott Eckhoff; great-granddaughter, Adelaide Eckhoff; niece, Suzi Casement (Bert Boden); seven foreign exchange students; and her beloved dog, Joey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Julie Michele Jones.

Nadine attended and graduated from Lost Spring High School.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Norman W. Lee on June 6, 1954.&nbsp; Nadine worked as the office manager for the local John Deere dealership and for a local accounting firm.&nbsp; 

She is survived by her two sons Ralph (Pamela) Lee of Junction City and Charles (Diane) Lee of Green Valley, IL; grandchildren Billy and Jennifer Chavis, Helen and Darin Lee and great grandchildren Ezra Extell and Blake Chavis.&nbsp; Nadine passed away at Diversacare of Council Grove on Tuesday September 13, 2022.&nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.&nbsp;

2022 at The Waldron Place, Hutchinson.&nbsp;&nbsp;
She was born April 10, 1946 in Hays, to Lawrence and Felicita Staab.


In 1964, Joyce graduated from Marian High School in
Hays.&nbsp; She attended Fort Hays State
University and graduated in 1968 with her Bachelor’s Degree.&nbsp; She went on to Medical Technology Training at
St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, from 1968-1969.&nbsp; In 1982 she graduated from Fort Hays State
University where received her Master’s Degree.&nbsp;
Joyce worked for Hays Pathology Laboratory from 1969 to 1978 where she
was a Microbiology Supervisor.&nbsp; She later
worked for Hutchinson Hospital Corporation for 21 years and retired in 2006 as
a Microbiology Supervisor-MT (ASCP)M.&nbsp;
She was a member of The Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.&nbsp; 

Joyce is survived by a niece, E. Page Cunningham;
grandnephew, Darren D. (Yumiko) Hudson; and twin great-grandnieces, Abby and

Alan (Al) Eugene Vogts, 62, passed away on September 12, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Al was born in Newton, on St. Patrick’s Day in 1960 to Edward W. Vogts and Kathryn (Schrag) Vogts.

Al grew up in Moundridge, and was known to his friends and family for his fun-loving personality, strong Christian faith, competitive drive, and long skinny legs. He left Moundridge on an athletic scholarship and graduated from Tabor College in Hillsboro, where he played baseball, basketball, and football. After graduating from Tabor in 1982, Al started his family and career. 

On August 14, 1982, he married Ellen Herr at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. Together Al and Ellen had three daughters; Emily, Amber, and Avery who they raised in Newton, KS. He later married Jennifer Lee Hansen on November 23, 2005 adding Al’s three step-children Jamie, Jeremy and Josh to create a fun and lively blended family.

Al put his business degree to work following in his father and brother’s footsteps as an entrepreneur. He has spent the last 40 years coming up with wild and innovative business ideas that spanned across construction companies, rental units, real estate developments, an event center, athletic training club and lots of other creative notions he had high hopes of impacting his community with. In the last few years, Al retired from several of these business ventures and filled his extra time playing pickleball. Pickleball became a way for Al to put his competitive drive to use and build new friendships. Al sought out to be “the best pickleball player of his age division” and recently began building a pickleball court in his backyard. The court will be completed in his honor by his family.

Al attended several different churches over his lifetime but his commitment to living a life of faith remained consistent. For over ten years, Al has been a committed attendee of NewSpring Church services and loved sending out group texts of Mark Hoover’s sermons to his family.

Al is survived by his mother, Kathryn Vogts (Moundridge); his wife of almost 17 years, Jennifer Vogts (Newton,); his three daughters, Emily Metcalf and husband Chris Metcalf (Wichita), Amber Vogts and husband Matthew Wilder (New Orleans, LA), Avery Vogts and husband Ethan Oltean (Wichita); his step-children, Jamie Hansen and fiancée Vanessa Lashinske (Kansas City, MO) and Josh and Jeremy Hansen (Wichita); his brother Mark Vogts and wife Joyce Vogts (Moundridge); his sister Jenny Loyd and her husband Scot Loyd (Canton-Galva); and his grandchildren Oliver and Jack Metcalf, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Al was preceded in death by his father, Edward William Vogts.

The family will be receiving friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday (September 18th) at the Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Church Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (September 20th) at NewSpring Church in Wichita. Rebecca Ann “Becky” Hege, 81, died on September 12, 2022, at Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead.&nbsp; She was born on January 11, 1941, in Newton, the daughter of Cecil and Ima (Lawson) Foster. Becky attended Newton and Emporia High Schools. Graduating from Emporia with the class of 1959.

Becky’s passion was helping others.&nbsp; She worked for many years as a Family Support Worker with the State of Kansas, Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.

On July 14, 1961, she was united in marriage with Gerald Dean Koehn. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1966.&nbsp; She again found true love, and on August 16, 1971 married Richard Hege in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple celebrated 51 beautiful years together this past August.

Becky is survived by her husband, Richard Hege; daughters, Misty (Bruce) Bartel, Melissa (Merlin) Koehn, and Melanie McClain; sons, Shawn Hege, and Shane (Dana) Hege; sister, Edwina “Eddy” Beard; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Gerald D. Koehn; and sisters Glenna Becker and Joy Craig.

He married Lola M. "Vickie" Downey on June 16, 1954 at Bentonville, AR. Red was a grain elevator worker.

Judith Susan Schmidt,77, was born February 8, 1945 in McPherson, the daughter of Theresia Schmidt Bishop. She grew up in Canton, along with her brother Anthony and attended school there. During her youth, Judith enjoyed spending time with cousin Jackie playing paper dolls, of which she had a huge collection and churning homemade butter while the women in the family baked bread. She also enjoyed the friendships she shared with Alice, Roberta and Sharon. In her later years, Judith resided in care homes in Haviland and Onaga. She was a devoted sister to her brother Tony and kept in close contact with him throughout the years. She also continued the close relationship with her cousin Jackie, even though they lived many miles apart. Judith entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Onaga Hospital in Onaga, after many years of failing health. She is survived by her brother Tony of Canton; her guardian Kay Smith of Westmoreland, and numerous cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Canton Township Cemetery. Olson's Mortuary, is in charge of arrangements. In 1962, Claire graduated from Miltonvale High School in Miltonvale.&nbsp; She attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College where she received her Associate’s Degree.&nbsp; Claire worked for Dillons Market Place for over 18 years in various positions.&nbsp; During the Kansas State Fair, Claire worked at the Dairy Barn for many years.&nbsp; She learned how to play the piano at a very young age of 5 and continued to play throughout the years.&nbsp; She attended Hutchinson Wesleyan Church. Claire is survived by her children, Leroy Rhoades, David W. Rhoades and Cyndi Vancil; grandchildren, Mitchell (Amberlea) Stahl, Michael Stahl, Paul Rhoades, Charles Rhoades, Dallas Rhoades and Michael Rhoades; and great grandchildren, Koen Lee Stahl, Laken Thiel, Renesmae Rhoades and Marcus Thiel. Nadine’s life began on December 26, 1933, on the family farm near Diamond Springs.&nbsp; She was the daughter of Charles E. and Ruth (Loomis) Murrell.&nbsp; Nadine attended and graduated from Lost Spring High School.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Norman W. Emery Lynn Knudsen was born sleeping to her parents Brendan Knudsen and Des Vogel-Goodman of Kingman. September 9, 2022 at 1:16pm at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She weighed 3lbs, 13oz, and 15 ½” long. She is survived by her parents and siblings Phoenix,and Dahlila of Kingman. Orlin Elwell Eigsti, age 96, passed away on September 12, 2022 at Newton Medical Center. Orlin was born October 8, 1925, near Wayland, Iowa. He was the oldest of five children born to Emery and Edna (Wenger) Eigsti. After him came Doris (Dean) Meyer, Ruth (Delmar) Miller, Marilyn Eigsti and Mervin (Ardith) Eigsti. Orlin attended school, through high school in the Wayland Iowa Consolidated School District. Along with basketball and baseball, he played the cornet in the school band. Orlin accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at the age of 13. He was a member of Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa, where he served as Sunday School superintendent, MYF sponsor, and elder. On February 22, 1948, he married his life-long sweetheart, Ina Mae Freyenberger, at the same farm house which served as their family home. It was there that they raised their sons. Daniel Joe was born in 1949 and Thomas Lee (Paula) in 1950. In addition to farming the family farm, Orlin served dozens of families and school children, for many years, as a bus driver. In 1969, Orlin and Ina held a farm auction and began a courageous adventure of service to others. This service took them to Richmond, Virginia as houseparents to young adult volunteers, Frontier Boys Village, Larkspur, Colorado, as houseparents for emotionally disturbed boys and Elkhart, Indiana with Mennonite Board of Missions. By 1977, a job opening in the grounds department at Hesston College lured the farmer in Orlin. This led to relocating to Hesston, Kansas. He worked the grounds department for 11 years at the college and 11 years at Stutzman Retreat Center. During this time, Orlin became a member of Hesston Mennonite Church where he contributed faithfully for over 40 years. After retiring in 1999, he and Ina moved into independent living at Schowalter Villa. He continued to serve by volunteering for the Et Cetera Shop, Meals on Wheels, Methodist Youthville. He also provided transportation for Schowalter Villa residents who were unable to drive to appointments. In 2015, Orlin and Ina moved to an assisted living apartment within the Schowalter Villa complex. He continued living there until his death. His upbeat personality, positive perspective, and trust in God, strengthened him through life challenges and brought joy and inspiration to everyone around him. His heart for service endeared him to many and brings a legacy of blessing to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by wife, Ina; sister-in-law, Ardith Eigsti; sons, Dan and Tom; daughter-in-law, Paula; grandchildren, Cherise (Chad) Fidler, Shanna (Micah) Beachy, Melissa (Cory) Lamb, Chad (Sondra) Eigsti and Nathan (Courney) Eigsti; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Houston, 49, of Hutchinson, died September 10, 2022, at her residence. She was born December 18, 1972, to Jack Houston and Teresa Escareno, in Neodesha.

Cindy was a resident at Disability Supports along with her roommate of over 30 years, Janna Frank. She loved to go out of the house. Cindy loved to go shopping and eat while she was out.

She is survived by: her mother, Teresa Escareno (Conrad Veale); brother, Scott McMullen; aunts, Cathy Neel, Roberta Hawthorne (Ron); uncles, John Escareno (Marcia), Richie Escareno (Debbie), Thomas Escareno, all of Eureka; roommate, Janna Frank; and numerous cousins.

Cindy was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Moetta Escareno, Ed and Janice Escareno; and aunt, Lucy Escareno.

A memorial service will be 10 am Monday, September 19, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5pm on Saturday and 1 pm to 5pm on Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Graveside committal will be 11 am Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Greenwood City Cemetery, Eureka.

Mary was a homemaker and served as a teacher’s aide for over 20 years.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Roland Yerion on November 1, 1953, in New Mexico. Mary was an avid quilter and was a member of Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion.&nbsp; She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.&nbsp; 

Mary is survived by her children Shawn (Tom) Wunderlick of Marion, Deckie (Tim) Kerfoot of Washington, Nona (Dwayne) Woolbright of South Carolina, and Heather (Kristin) Yerion-Keck of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.&nbsp; Mary passed away at Hillsboro Community Hospital on Monday September 12, 2022.&nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and brother.&nbsp;

Juanita Jane Carmichael, 89, went to her heavenly home, Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Diversicare of Hutchinson.&nbsp; She was born February 12, 1933, in Montezuma, to Amos Robert and Hazel Nadine (French) Jantz.

Juanita graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1951, and Salt City Business College.&nbsp; She worked as a lead in the seat installation department for Collins Industries. &nbsp;Juanita’s faith and family were vital in her life.&nbsp; She had no time for hobbies, as Juanita was always taking care of her family and friends with unconditional love.&nbsp; Juanita was a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church, praying daily and relying on her Lord and Savior for guidance.

On October 28, 1976, she married Jerry Faye Carmichael, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; They met while working at Collins Industries.&nbsp; He passed April 26, 2021, after sharing 44 years of marriage.

Juanita is survived by:&nbsp; daughters, Linda Bush of Wichita, and Jo Ann Stofer of Hutchinson; stepchildren, Elaine Gaskel (Nick), Christina Frost (Doug), all of Joplin, MO, Jerry Carmichael (Diana) of South Hutchinson, and John Carmichael (Carla) of Hutchinson; brother, Marvin Jantz (Agnes) of Colorado; sister, Myrna Moore of Iola; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Edna Mae (Heath) Rymph, 93, of Newton, passed away on September 10, 2022, at Paramount Community Living and Rehab in Newton.

Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, and will be open prior to the funeral service at the church.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, 1200 Boyd, Newton, with The Rev. Donna Voteau officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 1100 E. 1st Street, Newton. Arrangements are by Petersen Family Funeral Services. The family has stipulated that masks will be required (except for preschool children) at both the visitation and the funeral.

Edna Mae (Heath) Rymph was born on November 5, 1928, outside of Aurora, Lawrence County, Missouri. She was the sixth child of Cornelius (“Neal H.”) and Ethel Catherine (Bradley) Heath. As a child, she was “river baptized” by the pastor of the Methodist Protestant Church in Aurora. After graduating from Aurora High School in 1946, she became the first of her family to attend college, when she was offered a scholarship and work grant to study at National College for Christian Workers in Kansas City, Missouri. She received her B.A. in Christian Education in 1950. After graduating, she worked as the first Conference Director of Children’s Work for the Central Kansas Conference of the Methodist Church and traveled to work with Methodist congregations through central and western Kansas.

Through her work with the Central Kansas Conference, she met a young man, who was studying to be a Methodist pastor in the conference. She married that man, Albert James Rymph, on September 28, 1952, in Aurora. After marrying Pastor Rymph, Mrs. Rymph resigned her paid church-work position and began her unpaid “career” as a pastor’s wife. Together, Pastor and Mrs. Rymph had and raised four children — son Bradley Budd, daughter Carol Ann, daughter Karen Jeannine, and son Alan DeWayne. With her husband and children, the family lived in multiple Kansas communities — Copeland, Clay Center, Wichita, Kingman, Russell, El Dorado, Beloit, Dodge City, and Ulysses.

While living in Russell, Mrs. Rymph worked as a part-time librarian at the Russell Public Library. In 1981 and 1982, while living in Beloit, Mrs. Rymph studied and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. After passing the Kansas state board exams at age 52, she worked in the Long Term Care Unit of the Beloit Hospital until she resigned in anticipation of her husband being assigned to a church elsewhere in Kansas. After her husband retired from the ministry in 1989, Pastor and Mrs. Rymph moved to the Friendly Acres (later renamed Asbury Park, and now Paramount) Retirement Community in Newton, where they each lived until their deaths. As the couple aged, Ms. Rymph was able to use her skills learned as an LPN to help manage the medicines and care for her husband. Pastor Rymph died at Asbury Park on February 16, 2019.

Mrs. Rymph is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and four sisters and one brother — Mary Eleanor Heath, Charles Edward Heath, Wilma Jenette Heath, Frances Pauline (Heath) Bennett, and Rama June (Heath) Robertson. She is survived by her children, Bradley Budd Rymph (José Verzosa Baquiran) of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; Carol Ann Rymph Carlson (James Wayne Carlson) of Bellevue, Nebraska; Karen Jeannine Rymph Smarsh (Thomas G. Smarsh) of Colwich, Kansas; and Alan DeWayne Rymph (Lisa Kay Jackson Rymph) of Wichita; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Margaret Ann Winter, age 83, died September 7, 2022 in Newton.

Margaret was born in Ottawa, on August 19, 1939 to Lawrence and Cleo Lehman. As a child Margaret moved often, living in Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas, where her father provided pastoral ministry.&nbsp; Margaret was a middle child suffering her older brother Lanny’s pestering and caring for her younger sister, Marti.&nbsp; In high school she was involved in many activities including an undefeated season of girl’s basketball at Shallow Water High School and competing in voice and instrumental music.&nbsp;

While on a church youth trip she met the love of her life, Bill Winter.&nbsp; Their relationship blossomed while attending McPherson college, marrying on March 25, 1961 at the McPherson Church of the Brethren. Later that year Margaret graduated with a degree in Music Education. After beginning her own family, she again helped care for siblings by traveling to Texas to care for her sister Lois, while her brother David was being born. Love of family, active involvement in the church and music were the high points and passions of her life. Her work life included music education, teaching preschool and working at a Fair Trade gift shop to support struggling artisans around the world.

Her husband Bill, son Perry and wife Juli, son Roy and wife Lisa, grandsons Jesse, Brady, Dilan, granddaughter Sadie, siblings David Lehman and Lois Larson, and many extended family members continue to be deeply touched by her love and compassion.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her mother Margaret Cleo Clark, father Lawrence Lehman, step-mother Thelma Lehman and her siblings Lanny Lehman and Martha Coulson.&nbsp;

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Church of the Brethren in Wichita, on Thursday, September 22 at 11 AM. A light lunch and time for visitation will follow the service.&nbsp; &nbsp;

John Vicencio, Jr., 72, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at his home in Hutchinson.

John was born January 8, 1950, in McPherson, to John Vicencio, Sr. and Thora (Todd) Vicencio. John was raised with four older sisters, Patricia, Marian, Joan, and Delores. When John was 20 months old, he was diagnosed with Epilepsy and severe Cerebral Palsy. He was raised at home and was treated no differently than his siblings.

After the death of his parents and sister, Joan, John was transitioned into the Disability Supports program in 1999, where he has resided since that time. While at Disability Supports, he had learned to operate a computer using different programs, became a “gamer” on different systems with the help of staff and friends. He also enjoyed community outings of fishing, bowling, concerts, dances, visiting museums, fairs and living a full life with his friends and the staff at Disability Supports. Some of his biggest pleasures were coloring, Spider Man, cartoons, his magazines, trucks and anything Western; his biggest hero being “The &nbsp;Duke”. &nbsp;However, John’s biggest joy was spending time with his family during the holidays.

John is survived by his many nieces and nephews, friends, and caregivers. He was preceded in death by his parents, John, Sr. and Thora Vicencio; half-sisters, Patricia Rodriquez-Sampson and Marian Seely; sisters, Delores Houltberg and Joan Maske; nephew, Daniel Rodriquez; and a niece, Ashleigh Copeland.

Everett William Hudson, age 84, passed away at his home on Sept. 10, 2022.  He was born on Feb. 27, 1938 in rural Stafford County, the son of Lee and Helen (Stromer) Hudson. 

 He was a retired Stafford County Road Supervisor.  On July 26, 1963, he married Jo Carol Selfridge at St. John, she survives of the home.  Other survivors include a sister, Esther Mae (John) Burris, Derby.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Donald Hudson.

Everett William Hudson, age 84, passed away at his home on Sept. 10, 2022. He was born on Feb. 27, 1938 in rural Stafford County, the son of Lee and Helen (Stromer) Hudson. Sharry Ann Richardson, 77, died Saturday, September 10, 2022 at her home in Hutchinson, KS. Sharry was born January 4, 1945 in Hardy, AR to James R. and Eva Mae (Allen) McAnally.&nbsp; She went to Hutchinson High School and worked at Mesquite Tree Restaurant in South Hutchinson, as a manager for five years. &nbsp;On July 22, 1963 she married Dickie W. Richardson in Hutchinson. &nbsp;Sharry was able to travel around the globe with her family and lived in many places including San Diego, CA; Keflavik, Iceland; Honolulu, Hawaii; Treasure Island, CA; Panama; and Okinawa, Japan.&nbsp; She loved to read and work in her garden. Sharry is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dickie; a brother, Dale Harmon; two sisters, Kay Hodgson and Denise Harmon; and one grandchild. She is survived by her three children, Roger, James and Shauna Richardson; four sisters, Linda Burris, Kathy Specht, Terri Zwickl and Della Harmon; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Eleventh Ave Church, 1326 W. 11th Ave, Hutchinson, 67501, with Pastor Karen Bruce officiating. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.&nbsp; &nbsp;
