Jennie L. Barbee, 71, passed away Sunday, July 31,2022 at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born to Rosa and Don Abel on May 5,1951 in White Cloud, Michigan. 

She married Gerald Robert Flick Sr when she was 18 yrs old and later divorced. They had three children they survived the home. Kimberly Hinostroza-Barbee (Az), Tina Vasquez-Steven Mikle (Ks) and Gerald Flick Jr aka ( Bobby) ( Ks). She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly. She worked at Fry’s Grocery store in the bakery/ deli department till they retired her when she was 45 yrs old. Jennie loved to dance and sing karaoke, plus loved garage sales.

She is preceded in death parents Rosa Newton and Don Abel Sr; three brothers Tommy Abel, Ed Abel and Don Abel Jr; one sister Pam Warden; one grandson Skyler Michael James Stone, one brother in law Ray Alford and one niece Amy Alford Unterriner.

Rosie Jeannette Rosencrans passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 in North Newton. She was born in Malta, Montana to Lars Marius Larsen and Hazel Rose (Young) Larsen. She was a graduate of Malta High School. After graduation she married Lawrence George Rosencrans and to this union were four children.

Rosie is survived by her children Amy McBride of Newton, Larry Rosencrans of Newton, and George Rosencrans of Alaska; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren;&nbsp; 3 brothers and 2 sisters living in Montana; many other family and friends.

Roy Eugene Long, 81, of Windom, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his home.&nbsp; Roy was born on February 16, 1941, to James and Myrtle (Griffith) Long in Hutchinson.

He retired from Johns Manville after 25 years in the maintenance department.

Roy married Bertha “Bert” L. (Hunley) Johnson on September 20, 1965.&nbsp;

He was a former member of the Windom Fire Department, Windom Lions Club, and the Windom City Council.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha “Bert”; daughters, Bobbie (Dick) Rawson of Marquette; and Robin Wilson of Windom; son, Russell Long of Windom; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Kristen (Ryan) Leatherwood and their children, Clay and Kadee, of Wister, OK; and Jude (Zaina) Ebingha of Edmond, OK; Nicholas (Brittany) Rawson and their children, Harrison &amp; Quinten, of Lyons; Austin Wilson of Newton;&nbsp; Alissa (Olivier) Basabe of Miami, FL; step-granddaughter and three step-great-grandchildren, Gwen (Jeff) Klepper and their children, Lane, Ashtin, and Grant, of Ellinwood; sister, Janis Smyth of Hutchinson; brothers, Ronald (Jan) Long and Dean Long, all of Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Lee "Bob" Green, 94, of McPherson, passed away at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his home in McPherson, Kansas. Robert was born in Enid, Oklahoma on July 20, 1928, a son of Teresa Mary (May) and Earl Leo Green. Robert attended Grant County schools, and graduated from Lamont High School, Lamont, Oklahoma in 1946. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church McPherson, Kansas. Robert spent most of his career in the United States Air Force where he had achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Following his discharge, he worked for Beneficial Finance prior to owning and operating a small insulating business. He was a member of the American Legion Post 24, McPherson, and the Bass Masters Club of McPherson. Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, visiting with his friends, and spending time with his family. Robert L. Green was united in marriage to Joan Kathleen Messall on June 14, 1951 in Enid, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with the birth of five sons, Michael, Mark, Steven, Timothy, and Thomas. The couple moved to McPherson in 1974 from El Dorado. Jerry attended local schools in Herington, before enlisting into the United States Navy, where he spent 12 years. Jerry was self-employed and loved working for himself. Jerry’s favorite passion was being a member of the Throttle Jockey’s car club.

Jerry is survived by his daughters; Marnita and Melissa, sons; Terry and Darren, brothers; Bill and Tom, several grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. John William Herpich, entered this world on February 1, 1949, born to Orlando and Lola Herpich nee’ Blomenkamp. John was baptized in the Holy Spirit on March 20, 1949, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Herington. &nbsp;John passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2022, at the Herington Municipal Hospital.

John attended St. Paul Parochial School in Herington until it’s closure. He then attended Herington Schools, graduating with the class of 1968. He then furthered his education at Salina Vo-Tech School studying diesel mechanics. As a youth John was a very active member of Herington High School FFA, and the Burdick Hustlers 4-H. On June 7, 1964, John was confirmed in his Lord and Savior at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Herington where he was a lifelong member. &nbsp;&nbsp;In 1970, John enlisted into the Kansas National Guard.&nbsp; While stationed Fort Belvoir, he met Kathleen Cater at a USO dance. On March 26, 1972, John and Kathleen married in Herington. John and Kathy adopted two children, Bevan, and Mindy.

John farmed with his grandpa and eventually took over the family farm where he lived the rest of his life. John also worked at the rock quarry north of Woodbine for 24 years as a heavy equipment operator, he then worked for Morris County as an equipment operator for another 11 years. John coached Special Olympics for 20 years.&nbsp; For 37 years, John lived for the faces of youth, he delighted every winter as he donned his “bright red suit” proudly.

John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Kathy of the home, son; Bevan Herpich, daughter; Mindy Herpich, sister; Beverly Penn, grandchildren; Haley Herpich, Ethan Herpich, Karsyn Herpich, Easton Herpich, Jacob Herpich, and Christian Schulze, great-granddaughter; Olivia Grace Chronister, nieces; Talena Penn, Sara Penn, and great nephew; Hunter Graham. Silas P.I. Stucky was born on October 14, 1927 to Peter T. and Ida JC Gehring Stucky in McPherson county Kansas. He attended the Mound Grade School and the Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge. 

Silas was baptized upon his profession of faith in Christ Jesus at the age of 16 by Rev. Walter Gehring. Faith, family, and farming were the integral parts of his life. In 1940 his family moved to a farm near Burns and he graduated from the Burns High School in 1945. He helped to build the Burns Mennonite Church and enjoyed playing basketball with his “Stucky Brothers” team. It was at a church youth party where Silas met the love of his life, Edna Guhr. 

On August 26, 1948 they were married at the Emmaus Mennonite Church of Whitewater, Edna’s home church. “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us” I Samuel 7:12 was their wedding and life verse as they depended on Him for wisdom and grace for every day. They enjoyed farming all of their married lives, trusting God to provide. When first married they farmed near Burns and Peabody. In 1956 God provided a farm north of Elbing and this became their home for the next 53 years where they raised four daughters. Many hands made light work and working together as a family on the farm brought many blessings. Daily morning devotions found them gathered around the kitchen table with Our Daily Bread and the Bible. Kneeling for prayer sought God’s wisdom and grace. From the girls’ early years the family sang together with Edna playing the guitar and Silas sharing devotionals as they gave programs in the area, known as the “Stucky Family Singers”. In 2009 at the age of 82 they retired from farming and moved into Elbing. Their legacy continues with another generation on the farm. In 2018 they moved into an independent apartment at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. In 2020 they moved into the home made for them at daughter Diane and Mark’s home. Being back with family meant so much. 

Silas passed into the presence of his Savior on August 2, 2022 at the age of 94. He is survived by his wife Edna of 73 years and their daughters and husbands, Elaine (Schmidt) of Elbing, Bonnie (Stan Graber) rural Burns, Nadine (Friesen) BC Canada, and Diane (Mark Veer) rural Newton. They have 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is survived by three sisters in law Ruby (John) Stucky, Faye (Joseph) Stucky, and Alice (Daniel) Stucky, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was proceeded in death by seven brothers Samuel (Florence), David (Esther), Jonas (Della), Paul (Leta), John, Joseph, and Daniel, and one sister Esther (Wayne) Ott. 

The memorial service will be held on Saturday August 13 with the burial at the Burns Countryside Church at 9:30. The service will be at 11:00 at the Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing with a lunch following. Visitation will be the evening prior on Friday Aug 12 at the Lamb Mortuary in Whitewater with family greeting from 6:00-8:00.&nbsp;

Catherine Carol (Peachey) Weaver was born in Pennsylvania on March 28, 1941, to Louis and Sadie Peachey.&nbsp; As one of nine children, she grew up on a dairy farm in the beautiful Kishacoquillas Valley. While her family worked very hard, they also enjoyed special traditions that she loved, including berry picking in the mountains, softball, homemade ice cream, visiting the ocean, reading, baking, singing, and festivities for the holidays.

Cathy came to the plains of Kansas to attend Hesston College, where she met the love of her life, Jerry. They were married August 3, 1962, and started an almost sixty-year journey together that spanned multiple churches, multiple states, and even multiple continents.&nbsp; As a preacher’s daughter herself, she never imagined she would marry a pastor, but she embraced the role and felt very blessed by the people she met and time she spent in each place. In her words, “we were privileged to share in the joys, sorrows and celebrations, and made many friends for a lifetime.” The churches they were a part of included Yellow Creek (Indiana); Hesston Mennonite, Whitestone Mennonite, Crystal Springs, Pleasant Valley (Kansas); and First Mennonite Church in Denver (Colorado). She particularly loved teaching Sunday School, being part of the Women’s Sewing Group, and serving on the First Mennonite Church Worship Committee where she had the chance to pick out hymns to fit the scripture for each service.

In addition to the full-time role of preacher’s wife, Cathy also worked incredibly hard to help support her family.&nbsp; Some of the roles she held included working as a church secretary (a role she loved), working at Prairie View, arranging flowers at Country Gardens (another one of her favorites), and working the early shift at Druber’s Donut Shop.&nbsp; After the completion of her Bethel College social work degree much later in life (something she was very proud of), she worked as a Case Manager and Manager of Homemaker Services with the Department of Aging for Reno County and then, &nbsp;after their move to Denver, also worked as Coordinator in the Alzheimer Room at an adult day care and later as a top salesperson for the Amish Showcase Furniture Store.

Upon their return to Hesston from Denver, Cathy became an active volunteer.&nbsp; The Villa Partners, Et Cetera Shop and Kauffman Museum were a few of her favorite organizations.&nbsp; Spending time with precious friends was also important, and she enjoyed being part of her book club, her Villa Bible Study and gadding about with old and new friends alike.&nbsp; Relationships were incredibly important to her, and she enjoyed each and every person she had the privilege of connecting with.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Of all her treasures, Cathy’s family was the most precious.&nbsp; Her three boys and their families meant more than anything to her and any time she could spend with the family was incredibly special.&nbsp; From sharing a meal, playing a card game, watching KU basketball, or simply walking around the arboretum, there was nothing better to her than the opportunity to be present with those she loved. &nbsp;

In recent years, Cathy faced some deep difficulties, including the illness and death of her beloved husband, hearing loss, and cancer in her own body. Through it all, Cathy’s fierce and loving nature burned brightly. She recently wrote, “I have known God’s constant presence. Even though things may change, He is beside me and will be there to the end of my life… As long as I can read…work in my garden, enjoy our family…volunteer whenever and wherever help is needed, keep in close touch with friends, and keep learning… these things make life so very rich!! And so – I’ll keep journeying on.”

Cathy died peacefully at Schowalter Villa on Sunday morning, July 31, 2022.&nbsp; May the fierce and unconditional love that Cathy shared through her care for others, her baked goods, her meals, her cards, her visits, her kind words, and her hugs (that always “felt” much bigger than her small stature) live on in all of us.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents (Louis and Sadie Peachey), older brother Samuel, and husband Jerry. Cathy is survived by seven siblings, Louis, Sara, Lee, Charity, Ann, Iva, and James and their families; three sons: David (Emily), Bruce (Lori), and Rick (Jill); six grandchildren: Miranda (Jamie), Madelyn (Jeff), Matthew (Crystal), Ashley (Caleb), Kendrick, and Ally; and four great-grandchildren: Devon, Rowan, Caelynn, and Dawson.

Catherine Carol (Peachey) Weaver was born in Pennsylvania on March 28, 1941, to Louis and Sadie Peachey.&nbsp; As one of nine children, she grew up on a dairy farm in the beautiful Kishacoquillas Valley. While her family worked very hard, they also enjoyed special traditions that she loved, including berry picking in the mountains, softball, homemade ice cream, visiting the ocean, reading, baking, singing, and festivities for the holidays.Cathy came to the plains of Kansas to attend Hesston College, where she met the love of her life, Jerry. John was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton and retired as a maintenance supervisor for Wichita State University.

John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A witty man John was, he was always quick with answers and could make anything humorous. During spring and summer you could catch John watching Women’s College World Series Softball games.&nbsp; He had a love for softball, umpiring games when he was younger. John also had a love for music, which found its way quickly into John’s heart from a young age. He later joined a band in which he sang, played congas, and also played the timbales; he was in this band for 58 years. John was kind to everyone and enjoyed talking to others about anything and everything. He donated much of his free time to helping and spending time with his family. He gave so much love to those around him; a very caring person John was.

He is survived by his wife Juanita of the home; son Jon Stephey (Ashley Janzen); daughters: Christina Rosalez (Eric Ramos); Tiffany Stephey; Pepper Stephey (Jason Leal); brothers: Apolonio Rozalez and Jose Rosales; and sister:&nbsp; Mary Sanchez. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He worked for Conoco and Ferrell Gas as a Supervisor in the natural gas and propane industry.&nbsp; After retirement he enjoyed fishing, being an amateur ham radio operator, played golf and shot pool. He had his lawn business where he loved mowing and taking care of the golf course.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Mull, JoAnn Peckham, brothers Dennis Foos and William Foos.

George F. Hildebrant, 96, died August 2, 2022, at his home. He was born January 7, 1926, in Hutchinson, to Frank D. and Elsie (Kearns) Hildebrant.

George graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. He served in the United States Army from 1944–1946, serving in the European theater. George was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he sustained in combat. He worked as a salesman for Earl Brown Wholesale and retired as manager for Namee. In his younger days, George played semi-pro baseball. He loved helping with harvest on the Leonard farm. George joined First United Methodist Church on December 4, 1932, and was an active member of the church throughout his life. He was also a member of Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. &amp; A.M. and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.

On June 29, 1947, he married Sara “Madlyn” Creech, in Hutchinson. They shared 70 years of marriage before her death on September 24, 2017.

George is survived by: his daughters, Ronda Moyers (Roy) of Oklahoma City, OK; Debra Leonard (Earl) of Hutchinson; grandson, Eric Leonard (fiancé, Katlynn Queen); and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; infant granddaughter, Haley Nichole Leonard; sister, Marguerite Cook; and brother, Bill Francis.

Mary Margaret Tharp, 79, of Herington was born October 3, 1942, in Trenton, MO to Lloyd Vanderpool and Mary (Mantlo) Vanderpool. Mary passed away on August 2, 2022, at the Herington Municipal Hospital with her daughter by her side.

Mary attended local schools in Trenton, which is where she met the love of her life Virgil Tharp. On March 3, 1959, Mary and Virgil married in Gallatin, MO. Mary then moved to Herington, following Virgil’s railroad job. Mary worked several places around Herington through the years from the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Herington. Her most favorite job was the years she spent as secretary for Herington High School. Her and Virgil owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Herington for 24 years. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, First Baptist Church in Herington, attending Shriners Conventions with Virgil, and catering weddings in her spare time. Mary is survived by her daughter; Kay Childress and husband Gary of Herington, brother William Vanderpool and wife Betty of Iowa, 2 grandson’s, 4 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. &nbsp;She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Mary, her loving husband of 53 years Virgil, brothers; George, James, and Bob. Mary Margaret Tharp, 79, of Herington was born October 3, 1942, in Trenton, MO to Lloyd Vanderpool and Mary (Mantlo) Vanderpool. Mary passed away on August 2, 2022, at the Herington Municipal Hospital with her daughter by her side.Mary attended local schools in Trenton, which is where she met the love of her life Virgil Tharp. On March 3, 1959, Mary and Virgil married in Gallatin, MO. Mary then moved to Herington, following Virgil’s railroad job. Mary worked several places around Herington through the years from the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Herington. Her most favorite job was the years she spent as secretary for Herington High School. Her and Virgil owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Herington for 24 years. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, First Baptist Church in Herington, attending Shriners Conventions with Virgil, and catering weddings in her spare time. Donald James Schroeder was born April 15, 1937 in Goessel, to John A Schroeder and Bertha (Frey) Schroeder.&nbsp; Don attended church as a young man with his parents and younger siblings.&nbsp; It was there, Don received Christ was baptized and joined the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.&nbsp;

Don grew up on the family farm North &amp; West of Goessel.&nbsp; He enjoyed his daily chores of taking care of the animals and working on the farm.&nbsp; Country living stayed with him his entire life.&nbsp; Don graduated from Goessel high school.&nbsp; He took a job after high school with Hesston Corporation.&nbsp; There was a slight pause in his work career as a tool &amp; die maker when he went for 1W service at the General Rose Hospital in Denver, Colorado.&nbsp; After his service he returned to Hesston Corporation, little did he know then he would meet the young lady that would become his soul mate.

Don was married June 30, 1961 to Maris Jolene Schroeder at the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church.&nbsp; It was an extremely hot day in June, with no air conditioning in the church, but they didn’t care.&nbsp; The couple made their home at a farm they purchased in rural McPherson County.&nbsp; To this union two children came along, Stacey Jolene and Kerry James.&nbsp; Don &amp; Maris joined the Garden Church, Don spent many years as an usher.&nbsp; He most enjoyed the Bible being preached from the pulpit every Sunday.

Don worked at the factory by day, and raised crops, animals, kids, and family the other 16hrs a day.&nbsp; In the evenings he would read verses and help Stacey &amp; Kerry memorize them before bed.&nbsp; Psalms 23 was a favorite.

Family was very important and there were numerous summer vacations to, Colorado and Branson to get the family together for quality time.&nbsp; The best times were spent with the family.&nbsp; The grandkids, and great grandkids always brought a smile to his face and twinkle to his eye.

August 2, 2022 Don was called home to be with his Lord and Savior.

Don is survived by; a daughter, Stacey and husband Ronald Mumaw, of Hesston; a son Kerry and wife Donica, of Harper; a brother Bob and wife Gladys of Manhattan, 5 grandchildren, Michael Mumaw (Maria Foley), Cequinda Mead (Shelby Mead), Jeff Mumaw, Jason Schroeder (Olivia), Weston Schroeder, &amp; Kenton Schroeder (Katie) and 6 great grandkids; Abbigail, Aubrey, Adeline, Annabelle, Alex, &amp; Dean.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Maris, parents John &amp; Bertha, and his sisters Kathleen &amp; Carolyn.

Sharon Deming died at her Hutchinson home July 31, 2022, following a series of strokes that started in late February.

Sharon was a Registered Nurse who served residents as Director of Nursing and Quality Control at the Buhler Sunshine Home before retirement. She had previously worked at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson Hospital, USD 308/Hutchinson Public Schools and Johnson and Sons Funeral Home.

She was born October 27, 1944, to the late Dr. Marion E. and Dorothy (Purdy) Nunemaker. At an early age Sharon became responsible for helping with her family’s younger children because of her mother’s illness. It was a trait and practice she reflected throughout her life.

Sharon was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Wendy Cox; and grandson, Andrew Cox.

Survivors include: her children, Jill Leslie Muramatsu and Will Leslie, Shannon Guild, Rogers, AR; husband, Dan; sisters, Susan Blocker, Haven, Kathy Nunemaker, Boulder, CO, Mary Young, Wheat Ridge, CO; and a brother, Terry Nunemaker, Wellington.

Also mourning her loss are: much loved grandchildren, Kameko Muramatsu, Dallas, Lindsey Kilbride, Galva, Logan Rumsey, Rogers, AR; and other much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Kansas and Arkansas.

Sharon was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and spent her lifetime helping support and encourage family members, friends and others she found in need. She was a former President of the Hutchinson League of Women Voters and active in programs and causes promoting women and animals. Sharon had volunteered for the Salvation Army, First Call for Help, Hutchinson Animal Shelter along with other activities aimed at benefiting those less fortunate and unable to fully care for themselves. Will Rogers said he never met a man he didn’t like. Sharon never met a cat she didn’t like with Barney and Sha-Moo among the loving survivors.

One of Sharon’s greatest sadness as her health declined was not being able to attend church and worship with others. But she maintained a close personal relationship with Jesus which, in the end, is more important. Life is full of ironies and among the biggest Sharon and her family faced is how seemingly unfair for a person who gave so much of her life assisting and comforting others needed the same help as her life came to a close. Those of us with faith must trust God’s plan even when we don’t understand and it makes no sense to us.

Special appreciation goes to Jennifer Buell, a veteran hospice aid, who has the ability to form close and meaningful relationships with her patients. Jen’s help, which developed into a memorable and lasting friendship, will never be forgotten and is emblematic of the type of care Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County provides daily. The family wants to thank and highly compliment the entire nursing and support staff for their exceptional and loving care. Special appreciation also goes to Jill, Will, Shannon, and Pastor Kim Biery, for helping with round-the-clock care as Sharon’s illness progressed.

Born October 31, 1920 at home in Lincolnville to parents Frederick Charles and May Stinchcomb, he was one of the last Kansans to know a vast and wild prairie transitioning to a modern world. &nbsp; Growing up, he watched the Marion Lake dug by mules and dirt slips. He learned to play many musical instruments and performed in a band with his dad and grandpa at the Harvey Sampson garage, where he also learned to use a ham radio. When he was 21, he met the love of his life, Rosalene Higgins, at a picnic at the lake, and they were united in marriage October 8, 1943 in Lincolnville. The couple could not go on a honeymoon because of World War II gas and tire rations. &nbsp; He and Rosalene raised six children, first living on a farm south of Lincolnville, and later leaving after the Great Flood of 1951. He worked as a farmer, truck driver, gas station operator, oil field worker, driller, welder and ditch digger. On Saturday nights, the family gathered around the television to watch Lawrence Welk and the Ed Sullivan show. In the summer, they went to Herington to the drive-in movie. In 1967, the couple moved to a farm south of Marion and raised cattle and hogs. &nbsp; Later in life, Charles and Rosalene discovered new places in their camper, traveling through Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. He knew what it was like to operate a 12-foot combine and then at the age of 93, cut wheat with his grandson on a 35-foot combine. He liked hotdog roasts, bike riding, ice-skating and sledding. He was a 65-year member of the Masonic Lodge. &nbsp; Charles is survived by his daughter Susanne Mueller (Richard), son Blaine Stinchcomb (Dora), daughters-in-law Barbara Stinchcomb (Charles L.) and Emma Stinchcomb (Michael) and son-in-law Ralph Janzen (Charlene). He had 17 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife Rosalene, sons Charles L., Michael and Robert, and daughter Charlene.&nbsp;

Trinidad ‘Juney’ Duarte, Jr., 71, of Hutchinson, died July 31, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1950, in Granada, CO, to Trinidad Avila and Ruth (Vargas) Duarte.

Juney graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969. He joined the United States Navy right after graduation and served from 1969 to 1972. Juney retired from Eaton Corporation where he worked as a machinist for over 40 years. He was a family man who adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family and friends. If he was not home, you could find him at his daughter's house, the radiator shop, or another buddy’s house hanging out. Juney enjoyed fishing, watching football, basketball, golf, and other sports, and going to the movies. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #982, Hutchinson.

He married Terry McMillen on May 17, 1985. They later divorced.

Juney is survived by: his children, Heather Duarte (Brett Buell) of Hutchinson, Trinidad “TJ” Duarte (Nikia Stone) of Salina; grandchildren, Brantley and Beckett of Hutchinson, Autumn, Colin, and Trinidad Jr. of Salina; siblings, Mary (Larry) Lingerfelt of Moorpark, CA; Bobby (Adela) Duarte of Denver, CO; Vera (Mike) Lackey of Topeka; Eleanor (Ron) Lawson of Wichita; Andy Duarte, Stevie Duarte, Billy (Shari) Duarte, and Peter Duarte, all of Hutchinson; Geralyn (Ralph) Espinoza of Wichita; and Gina (John) Glenn of Nickerson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Manuel Duarte, Trinidad Duarte, Jr. II, David Duarte, Patrick Duarte, and Kirene McJuckin.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary, with Todd Ray officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Elliott Mortuary. &nbsp;

Trinidad ‘Juney’ Duarte, Jr., 71, of Hutchinson, died July 31, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1950, in Granada, CO, to Trinidad Avila and Ruth (Vargas) Duarte.Juney graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969. He joined the United States Navy right after graduation and served from 1969 to 1972. Juney retired from Eaton Corporation where he worked as a machinist for over 40 years. He was a family man who adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family and friends. If he was not home, you could find him at his daughter's house, the radiator shop, or another buddy’s house hanging out. Gary Leonard Woodring, 63, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Valley Center, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;Gary was born in Wichita, Kansas to Clyde Leroy and Mary Margaret (Murphy) Woodring on March 10, 1959. He was a long time resident of Valley Center where he attended school and church with his family. As a young boy he enjoyed trips to the Grandmas' in Oklahoma to their farms.

At Valley Center High School he was part of Pop Choir and assisted with stage productions and worked part time at Dekalb wheat research farm. He graduated in 1977 with a scholarship to WSU. At WSU, Gary studied computer science. After finishing a semester at WSU, he enjoyed working back stage with the Valley Players Summer Theatre with a nickname of "Woody". He drove delivery trucks and worked warehouse for Wichita Frozen Foods with a nickname of "Giant". He stayed with the same basic wholesale food company as it was bought out by Cloverdale, F &amp; E Wholesale, and Ben E Keith Wholesale until he retired. After working night shifts, Gary remained a night owl. His hobbies were reading sci-fi books and watching movies and programming his computer. Gary also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his sister Linda Woodring, brother Reece Woodring, and sister Gale Nachtigal (Kelly); other family and friends.

Graveside Service at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022.&nbsp; A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. at LifePoint Church in Valley Center, Kansas.
