Mary's life began on December 20, 1931, in Sabetha. She was the daughter of Robert Frederick and Lucy (Payne) Leuze. 

Mary was a 1949 graduate of Denver East High School and attended college at the University of Denver. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Junior Blythe on June 6, 1950, in Parkerville. Mary was a homemaker but after moving to Colorado worked for Cyclone in Longmont and Amy's Hallmark in Aurora. She was an active member of the White City, United Methodist Church. Mary taught vacation Bible school, helped with Methodist Youth Fellowship, and enjoyed ladies’ groups, including Sans Souci. She was supportive of her husband Junior (Benjamin Junior), who was the Mayor of White City, and she was often involved in his activities. 

Mary is survived by her children Bradley (Naren) Blythe of Commerce City, CO; Janice (George) Wilson of Kent, WA; and Barbara (Eric) Rademacher of Longmont, CO; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mary passed away at her home on Thursday September 22, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Junior (Benjamin Junior). 

Her family will gather with friends and family on Monday September 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the White City Cemetery for her graveside service led by Pastor Will Ravenstein.&nbsp;

Bonnie Lee Stark Rupp, 90, died September 23, 2022, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born August 10, 1932, in Virgil, to Leondius Irl and Patra Devela (Kerr) Abbey.

Bonnie worked for many years in restaurants and grocery stores in the communities in which she lived – Cunningham, Buhler/Inman, Hutchinson, and Pueblo, CO. Bonnie’s love language was giving and she expressed that through painting, baking (especially banana bread), and shopping for others. Bonnie especially loved spending time with family. She was of the Baptist faith.

On December 24, 1948, Bonnie married C. Harold Stark, in Cunningham. He died November 1, 1985. On August 22, 1987, she married Eugene Rupp in Pueblo, CO. He died February 7, 2009.

Bonnie is survived by: her children, Harold Stark (Theresa) of Cunningham, Earl Stark (Rebecca) of Buhler, Bill Stark (Debbie) of Derby, Bert Stark (Patti) of Moore, OK, Denise Hahn of Bentonville, AR; stepchildren, Joe, Mike, Kenny, Loretta, Cindy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Lucille Klinginsmith, Hazel Crowell, Kathleen Bischof; and brother, Gene Abbey.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Buhler Municipal Cemetery West. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Marilyn Faye (Siemens) Krehbiel, 85, passed away September 23, 2022, with her family by her side.&nbsp; She was born November 27, 1936, in Hutchinson, the oldest child of the late Alvin and Marie (Friesen) Siemens.

Marilyn graduated from Buhler High School and Bethel Deaconess Hospital with her registered nursing degree.&nbsp; She worked as a registered nurse at Grace Hospital and Prairie Sunset Home.&nbsp; In addition, Marilyn volunteered at Hospice House and the Et Cetera Shop, Hutchinson. She loved to cook, sew, garden, and read. Marilyn treasured her faith, family and friendships. She was a devoted farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

As a child, Marilyn was baptized at the Hebron Mennonite Church, Buhler.&nbsp; She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, and attended&nbsp;Journey@South&nbsp;Hutch.

On September 14, 1958, she married Alvin Dean Krehbiel.&nbsp; They shared 47 years of marriage before his death on November 6, 2005.

Marilyn is survived by: her children, Loren (Cindy) Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie, Dianne (Keith) Wiebe of Peabody, Royce (Cindy) Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie, and Tim (Yvonne) Krehbiel of Bern; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vernabelle Stayrook (Kerm Gingerich) and Betsy (Larry) Buller; Alvin’s siblings, Janet Epp, Joan (Gary) Jost, MaryAnn (Hugo) Boschmann, Karen (Lynn) Kaufman; and brother-in-law, Clemon Kaufman.

Susie graduated from Fort Smith Northside High School, Fort Smith, AR.&nbsp; She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson. On August 11, 1967, Susie married Roy E. McFarland, Jr., in Fort Smith, AR.&nbsp; They shared over 55 years of marriage.

Susie, along with her husband, were the persons responsible for the organization and operation of the Hutchinson Community Church Softball League.&nbsp; This organization provided leagues and tournaments in softball, basketball, volleyball, golf, and bowling, for the various churches in the Hutchinson area to participate.&nbsp; Susie could always be found working the concession stand at the City of South Hutchinson softball complex during the summer softball league.

Susie is survived by:&nbsp; her husband, Roy McFarland of Hutchinson, KS; children, Bob McFarland of Hutchinson, KS, Leslie (Jeff) Cardwell of Olathe, KS, Mark (Erin) McFarland of Hutchinson, KS, Jeff (Trish) McFarland of Halstead, KS, Melissa Dillon of Wichita, KS, and Meredith McFarland of Wichita, KS; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Penner, 77, of Buhler, KS, and formerly of Inman, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022, surrounded by family at Harry Hynes Hospice Center, Wichita.&nbsp; LaVern owned &amp; operated Penner’s Grain &amp; Distributing, a custom harvesting business.&nbsp; He then was an independent truck driver for many years.&nbsp;

LaVern was born on January 25, 1945, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Arnold C. and Hilda A. (Stucky) Penner.&nbsp; He graduated from Central Christian High School in Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; On April 2, 1965, LaVern was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Pauline Whitaker in Buhler, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two sons, Rodney and Raymond.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 57 years, Pat of the home; two sons, Rodney Penner (Sarah Orem) of Buhler, KS and Raymond Penner (Emilie) of Hutchinson, KS; a brother, Larry Penner (Jean) of Inman, KS; eight grandchildren, Rhett Penner (Stephanie), Saraya Johnson (Aaron), Hadyn Penner, Riggin Penner, Reval Penner, Dalton Orem, Marissa Orem, and Dakota Orem; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Donna was born on a farm in Butler County on June 16, 1933. Her parents were Hugh and Flossie Westervelt. Donna was the youngest of six children. The family later moved to town in Leon, KS where she attended school, was a cheerleader and graduated from Leon High School.

She worked several years at Beech Aircraft before going to work in the office at Conoco in Wichita. This is where she met her husband, Mel McAnulty. They were married August 31, 1962 in Hutchinson. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with all of the family present. They were the parents of four sons: Mark, Brett, Todd and Barry.

While raising their sons, Donna first worked as a secretary for Lloyd Smith, owner of S/V Tools and then later as an administrative assistant to Bob Bunting at Bunting Magnetics in Newton. Upon retirement on January 1, 1997, Mel and Donna enjoyed taking annual 6-week vacations for 12 years to San Diego, CA.

Donna was a very active mother and community volunteer over the years. She was in charge of the kitchen at First Presbyterian Church which provided many meals for the congregation and for special gatherings at the church. She organized and catered the annual Holiday Affair women’s luncheon for many years and always received accolades as to her ability to pull off this event. She also was in charge of the Gift Shop at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton and helped with the Apple Blossom Festival for many years. Donna was named Newton Woman of the Year in 2001 and was an active member of the local P.E.O. chapter.

Donna loved to entertain friends and family. She was noted for the outstanding meals she provided at their annual Memorial Day brunch at their home for approximately 20 years, hosting an average of 50-60 guests. Donna will be missed by all.

Survivors include: husband, Mel McAnulty of the home, son, Mark (Cindy) McAnulty of Newton, daughter-in-law, Karen of Newton, son, Todd (Penny) McAnulty of Newton, son Barry (Janene) McAnulty of Lee’s Summit, MO, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her son, Brett, her parents and siblings Ralph, Leona, Don, Jim, and Ina Mae.

Randy Lee Branton, 63, passed away September 21, 2022, in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born September 11, 1959, in Hutchinson, to Francis and Norma (Claypole) Branton. 

Randy enjoyed the outdoors, collecting and throwing knives and spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his daughters, Ashlea Smith, Stephai Drake and Amy Fredrick; 11 grandchildren, Ashton Smith, Joe, Ian, Chauncey and Ryder Drake, Emily, Olivia, Lillona and Ezra Fredrick, Draven Branton and Ethan Hartman and mother in law, Barbara Hanson. Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Norma Branton; siblings, Bonnie Grovenberg, Bud Branton and Shirley Miles and son, Ben Branton. 

He will be greatly missed and forever loved and remembered.

Elaine Maxine (Engel) Guimond 93, of White City, Kansas passed away on September 20, 2022, at the Morris County Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1928, to Louis and Marie (Hickey) Engel on the family farm in rural Herington. 

Elaine attended File Elementary Country school. Later in life she worked as a nurse’s aide at the old Junction City Hospital. Elaine married Richard Guimond Sr. in Whitman Massachusetts on March 23, 1953. Richard was in the United States Airforce. To this union was born three sons: Richard Jr., Garry, and Mark. During her years growing up Elaine helped on the family farm working in the fields and helping with gardening. 

After returning to White City, she worked at the local grocery store Vernon Rose Market and then Perry Moore’s Market until she retired. Elaine loved animals of all kinds, she enjoyed the outdoors, visiting with friends, and being with family. Elaine’s birth mother passed away and Louis married Margret (Christman) of Topeka who helped raise Elaine and her siblings. Later she gained three brothers and two sisters from that union. Elaine was a member of the Parkerville Baptist Church and White City Chapter #421 Order of the Eastern Star of Kansas. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard Guimond Sr. Elaine is survived by her 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; sons Richard Guimond and wife Pam, Garry Guimond, Mark Guimond and wife Paula; grandchildren &amp; great-grandchildren: Joni, Jeffrey, Journey, and Jeremiah Peterson, Chad Guimond, Brooke, Mylin, Bektin, and Huxton, Louis Guimond, Braxton and Landon, Kelsey Bergeron, Micaiah, Kaelynn, MaKinzie, and baby on the way .&nbsp;

Patricia “Pat” Smith was born to Katherine (Salzer) Corber and Alva “Bill” Corber near Waverly, August 8th, 1932. She was the youngest of three siblings, with two older brothers, Robert “Jack” and Billy Corber. 

The Great Depression forced the family to move to the country outside of Topeka where her Father farmed with a large workhorse named Rex and her mother gardened and canned. Pat and her brothers attended a one room schoolhouse and studied by oil lamp. Pat would recall that she had a good family because they all helped each other out during the hard times of the Great Depression. Their farmhouse burned down, so the family moved to Topeka where her father worked as a Plumber.

As there was little money for new clothes, Pat learned to sew. Her Hungarian born Grandfather Stephen was a tailor, and she enjoyed visiting him at the shop he worked at in Topeka while she was on her way home from school. Her Grandmother Mary was trained in Hungary as a Chef, and she had fond memories of meals she shared with her Grandparents.

Pat attended Topeka High School and spent 2 years at Washburn University before having to discontinue her schooling due to lack of funding. After leaving college, Pat worked various jobs before marrying and raising six children. Pat’s own family knew her as a fine seamstress and excellent cook. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, and ran a little vegetable stand off her front porch for many years. Pat was also an animal lover and sheltered many beloved cats and dogs over her lifetime.

Pat had unwavering devotion to her family, and she was someone her family could count on through good times and bad. Pat was tough, enduring the loss of two children and multiple bouts with cancer. Overall, Pat felt like she had a good life and made it her work to raise her family in the best possible way given her blue-collar resources. We will miss her terribly but are grateful for the 90 years she had on this earth and the lessons she taught us. Pat died at home with family by her side.

She is survived by her children: Terry Smith; David Scott; Matt (Beth) Smith; Vicki (John) Daniel and Lorraine Leaf; brothers: Billy Gene Corber; Robert Jack Corber. There are also numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild.

Catherine E. “Cay” Siebert, 92, passed away on September 16, 2022, at Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton.

She was born on June 1, 1930, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Earl and Florence (Cressman) Snyder. Catherine would attend and graduate from Guelph High School.

Following high school graduation Cay began teacher’s college. She would receive her bachelors degree in elementry education from Goshen College and her masters degree in religious education from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary.

During her time in seminary, Cay would meet Roger Dale Siebert, and on September 1, 1961, the couple would be united in marriage. For many years and in many states, she accompanied Roger through four pastorates – three years in Inman, six years in Bedminster, PA, nine years in Pandora, OH, and five years in Hillsboro.

Following Roger’s sudden death in 1986, Cay started a new chapter of her life and began working at Meadowlark Mental Health Residential Facility as a mental health worker, a job she enjoyed and would retire from.

Cay had a gentle, loving, and caring heart. The later years of her life were devoted to volunteering with the Compeer program and at the local homeless shelter. She also volunteered helping those who were afflicted by domestic violence. She was active in the Church Women United and AAUW organizations in Newton. She co-chaired a yearly mental health retreat.

Cay is survived by her children, David Siebert and Ruth (Steve) Meyer; grandchildren, John Roger Bertsche, Benjamin Meyer, Stephany Meyer, and Nevin Siebert; great-grandchildren, Teydren and Kyla Bertsche; nieces and nephews, Steve Rempel, Debbie Rempel, Nancy Rempel, Lorne Loganbill, Jerry Loganbill, Carol Logan, Mark Reusser, Kristin Penner, and John Reusser.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Rev. Roger D. Siebert; parents, Earl and Florence Snyder; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jim Reusser; sister-in-laws, Franny Remple and Elaine Loganbill; brother-in-law, Don Siebert; and nephews, Mike and Bruce Remple.

Wyatt Kent Sweeten of Maize, was carried in the arms of Jesus to his heavenly home on September 12, 2022. He was an excelling Fifth grader at Vermillion Elementary in Maize.&nbsp; With a great love for outdoors, you would find him barefoot, throwing a football, riding his bike or with his family fishing. You would find him having fun as an innocent prankster who enjoyed scaring his mom, dad or family by jumping out at them unexpectantly. When no outside he would be playing Fort Nite or other video games. He truly loved being with his family and was a joy to hang out with in whatever activity was chosen.

Family members that arrived heaven before Wyatt are his sister Zanna-Lynn Sweeten, his Nana Kristine Guldner, great grandparents Paul &amp; Sandra Guldner and Kent Williams, and great uncle Jesse Guldner.

Wyatt is survived by his parents Nick and Heather Sweeten; siblings Paisceince Permenter, Zac Sweeten, Zayden Sweeten, Prestyn Sweeten and Bella Sweeten; grandparents Paul &amp; Rita Guldner, Bob &amp; Lynn Sweeten and Linda &amp; Randy Higgins; great grandmothers Judy Barnes and Ann Williams; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family, classmates, teachers and friends.

Donald Eugene Bruner, 57, of Salina, and formerly of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, surrounded by family at the Holiday Resort Health &amp; Rehab, Salina.&nbsp; Don had worked as a warehouse supervisor at Tony's Pizza and was also a Transportation Supervisor at Schwan's Home Delivery.

Don was born on May 9, 1965, in Columbia, MO, the son of Ralph Eugene and Donna Sue (Byrd) Bruner.&nbsp; He graduated from McPherson High School in 1983 and from Bethany College, Lindsborg in 1987.&nbsp;

Survivors include: his daughter, Nicole Morgan of Brownwood, TX; brothers, Kevin Bruner (Trish) of McPherson, and Clinton Bruner (Dara) of Wichita; sister-in-law, Kim Bruner of McPherson; aunt, Mae Bruner of Fulton, MO; uncle, James Byrd of McPherson; “little brother”, Paul Bruner (Natasha) of Fulton, MO; special friend, Kayla Thompson-Moore of Salina; dear friends, Bill Ottens of Denver, CO and Andrea Guliford of Salina; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dean Cotton, 93, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at The Cedars, McPherson.&nbsp; He was a retired judge and attorney.&nbsp; He worked as the county, probate, and juvenile judge for 14 years and then was a lawyer for the State of Kansas Dept. of Human Services for 17 years.

Dean was born on February 12, 1929, in McPherson, the son of Floyd Harold and Mildred Irene (Tipton) Cotton.&nbsp; He graduated from McPherson High School in 1947, McPherson College in 1951 and was the class salutatorian.&nbsp; He then attended &nbsp;Washburn Law School, graduating in1954.&nbsp; On February 9, 1955, Dean was united in marriage to Esther Marie Ikenberry at the McPherson Church of the Brethren.

Dean was a member of First United Methodist Church, Partners Sunday School Class, United Methodist Men, Kiwanis Club, Genealogy Club, McPherson County Historical Society, and life member of McPherson Opera House.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 67 years, Esther of the home; a son, Ken Cotton, DDS (Michelle) of McPherson; a daughter, Kathy Gauby (Sid) of Boise, ID; three siblings, Jeanine Watratz of Surprise, AZ, Donald Cotton (Ivadelle) of Scott City, and Carolyn Penner (Don) of North Newton; four grandchildren, Kyle Gauby (Melissa), Kacie Noyes (Jeremy), Meghan Rathbun (Denver), and Matt Cotton (Jocie); six great-grandchildren, Owen, Henry, Evelyn, Henry David, Howard, and Amelia; and several nieces and nephews.

Leslie R. “Les” Thiessen, 88, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2022 at Pine Village in Moundridge. Les was born to Jacob E. Thiessen and Bertha Androes Thiessen on November 24, 1933. He was born on the family farm near Meade. His family moved to Inman, when he was six years old. Les was baptized on August 13, 1950, becoming a member of the Inman Mennonite Church. After his marriage to Joy Ann Goering, he transferred his membership to Eden Mennonite Church, where he remained a faithful member until his passing. Following his graduation from Inman High School in 1952, Les worked at Rodney Milling Company in McPherson, before serving with the United States Army in Germany from March 1956 through March 1958. Les and Joy met on a blind date, and they were married on May 24, 1960. They were blessed with three daughters, Connie Jean, Karen Sue, and Cheryl Kay. The family later grew to include three sons-in-law, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In 1998, Les retired from Sterling Drug in McPherson. He greatly enjoyed his retirement and was able to spend more time on his favorite hobby of woodworking. He loved to create things for his grandkids, and over the years made many treasured items including child-size furniture, rocking horses, doll cradles, and much more. Les was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Bertha Thiessen; two sisters, Velma Carden and Shirley Shuff; and two brothers, Larry Thiessen and Ronald Thiessen. Virginia (Ginger) Freach, 85, died peacefully September 18, 2022, in Wichita. Ginger was born September 25, 1936, to Andrew and Frieda Kosminski in Newton. 

She married Steve Freach in 1955 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. As a Navy family they lived in numerous coastal cities during his long military career but most enjoyed their time in Arizona before retiring to St. John, in 1994. 

Ginger enjoyed her life as a homemaker and was particularly skilled at sewing and cooking. Her beautiful quilts and craft projects leave a legacy for so many. She was an avid reader throughout her life, ever ready to dig into a good book. She was preceded in death by husband Steve in 2012, son Daniel Freach, grandson Kristofer Freach and great-granddaughter Olivia Franco.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She is survived by son Steve Jr. (Mary Lou), daughter Polly (Gordon) Austin, grandchildren: Joe (Belinda) Freach, Beth (Jim) Schwartz, Emily Freach, Jesse (Kaitlin Plasterer) Austin, Carly (Keith) VenJohn, Sara Chavez-Christmann , Luke (Joy) Chavez, Danna Hendricks, and 7 great-grandchildren. &nbsp;

Phyliss A. Willinger went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 19, 2022 at the Stafford Co. Hospital, Stafford. She was born on Sept. 10, 1933 to Charles and Gertrude Willinger of rural Hudson. 

She was a graduate of Hudson High School. On Nov. 16, 1952, she married Dwain G. Gill of Sylvia. A lifetime resident of Kansas, she was a mother and homemaker. She belonged to the Turon Community Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dwain; both parents; a brother Darwin Willinger, of Marble Falls, TX; an infant sister, Shelia; and one Great Granddaughter, Taylor. Phyliss is survived by a son, Steve (Vonda) Gill, Sylvia; daughters, Cindy (Galen) Childs, Abbyville; Carol (Randy) Vogel, Marion; Brenda (David) Marshall, Hutchinson; a brother, Larry (Maxine) Willinger, Farmington, NM; a sister, Shirley Fischer, Seward; 11 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren.

Patricia Ann “Pat” Wagler, 82, of Sterling, Kansas, met her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2022, at the Sterling Village. She was born December 14, 1939, in Sterling, the daughter of Marvin and Helene (Considine) Ray. 

Pat graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1957 and went on to graduate from Sterling College with a degree in music. She taught piano to many students in the community. Her true passion was playing the organ so beautifully at the Sterling Evangelical Bible Church. Pat was active in both choir and band in high school and carried her love of music thru by accompanying many vocalists and instrumental performers. She enjoyed playing her piano for anyone who needed their spirits lifted. 

On May 8, 1959, Pat was united in marriage with Wendell Zimmerman. Their surviving children are Todd Ray (Lillian) Zimmerman of Sterling, and Debra Kay (Atlee) Preheim of Hesston; grandchildren, Grady (Ashlee) Pauls, Kylie (Robert) Moore, Javier, Moises and Rosy Zimmerman; and five great-grandchildren, Landry and Grayson Pauls, Braylen and Reagan Moore, and Ariel Villanueva Zimmerman. Wendell preceded Pat in death on September 24, 1998. 

On July 8, 2000, Pat was united in marriage with Charles Wagler. She graciously loved his children, Stan (Kathy) Wagler, Sue (Lowell) Entz, James Wagler, and Shelly (Baron) Clifford; and four grandchildren, Tyler (Cailey) Entz, Lindsey (Landon) McGee, Charlie and Stella Clifford. Charles preceded Pat in death on December 27, 2020.

Carolyn Mae Johnson, 93, formerly of Assaria passed away September 19, 2022 at Homestead Estates, Wichita.  Carolyn was born September 29, 1928, in Salina, the oldest of three children to Edgar and Ruby Johnson of Assaria, Kansas.  

     Carolyn lived in Assaria for the majority of her life.  In 1946, she graduated from Assaria High School and then attended Brown Mackie College in Salina.  She worked at Lynch Grain until she married Richard H. Johnson on June 4, 1950.  She was proud of her Swedish heritage and enjoyed her role as a farmer’s wife and mother to their three children.  

     As a member of Assaria Lutheran Church, she joyfully served in many capacities, including Visitation Committee, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Mary Group, XYZ, Choir, quilting, communion preparation, and serving in the kitchen.  Her other community activities included Extension Homemakers Unit and 4H.  She and her husband loved to spend time with their friends in Salina Twirlers Square Dance Club.  

     She was a loving care-giver to her husband until his death after 46 years of marriage.  She continued to live independently on their farm until 2016 when she moved first to Lindsborg then to Wichita until her death.

     Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Johnson, her parents, Edgar and Ruby Johnson, and her brother, Eldon Johnson. 

     She is survived by her sister, Doris Blomquist of Assaria, son, Dale (Linda), of Carlsbad, California, and daughters Sharon (Scott) Moser of Wichita and Anita (Jeff) Wesche of Virginia Beach, Virginia, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  

     Visitation with the family will be from 6:30p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday, September 23, at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.

He was born Oct. 31, 1964, at Kenton, Ohio the son of John Gary and Barbara Crawfold Culp.

A longtime resident of the Zenda community, he was a oil field worker and custom cutter.

Wayne was a former City council member and former Mayor of Zenda; and was on the Zenda Voluteer Fire Dept.

Survivors include his daughter Dani Rau and her husband Paul; his mother Barbara; sisters Karen Sturchio, Betty Cope and Amy Culp; and grandchildren Paul IV, Isaac and Carter.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.&nbsp; The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery outside Zenda.

Arlene was born July 5, 1936 to Jonas and Hulda (Kaufman) Schrag.&nbsp; She grew up on the family farm south of McPherson, Kansas.&nbsp; On June 30, 1962 she married Carrol D. Zerger at Eden Mennonite Church.&nbsp; They were married 59 years. This union resulted in three children, Charlene, Linn, and Darrin.

Arlene was a member of Kingman Mennonite Church along with her husband and in recent years also attended First Mennonite Church of Pretty Prairie.

She is survived by her daughter Charlene Zerger Childs and grandchildren Chelsea Childs Sibley (William), Claire Childs, and Connor Childs . Her sons Linn Zerger and Darrin (Sheri) Zerger and grandchildren Elizabeth and Michael. Also surviving are her brother and his wife, Dennis (Pam) Schrag and sister-in-law’s Esther Schrag and Twilla Schrag.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Carrol on December 27, 2021.&nbsp; She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers and their wives, LaVerne (Irma) Schrag, Gilbert (Vida) Schrag, Jacob Schrag, Delmar Schrag, and a sister and her husband Marilynn (Earl) Flickner.

Beth Elaine (Hartman) (Boettger) Hershberger was born on February 5, 1957 to Robert and Rhoda Hartman. She grew up in Kidron, Ohio. She was the second of three girls, the “middle” child. She learned to play the piano when she was seven years old, and took lessons for nine years straight. She was an accompanist at her home church, Pleasant View Mennonite Church, in North Lawrence, Ohio from the time she was in junior high. She also played at the different churches that she attended (most recently Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston, KS), as well as for choirs in high school and college. In times of stress and anxiety, her solace was often playing the piano. She also loved to read and go for walks. Beth accepted Christ as her personal Savior one Sunday when her Grandpa Yoder was preaching and gave an alter call. She was 10 years old. Beth and Barb, her older sister, used to play house together with their dolls. They also rode their bikes together on the road where they lived. Inevitably, someone would crash, and it was usually me. She graduated from Central Christian High School in 1975 and then continued her education at Hesston College, Hesston, KS, graduating in 1977 with an A.A. degree in Business. She worked at Hesston College, General Conference Church Oversees Mission, Schowalter Villa, Bachman Plumbing and Heating, Hesston Eye Clinic, Goering Hardware, and did transcription in the home. She married Conrad Boettger in 1979 and two children became part of their family, Jenna Marie and Joel Conrad. She later married Kermit “Dee” Hershberger in 1997, and his two sons became part of their family, Seth Alan and Chad Aaron. She is survived by her husband, Dee, of the home; Jenna (David) Boettger Boring along with Verona and Finn, Portland, OR; Joel Boettger along with Karina Ortman, Wichita; Seth (Sarah) Hershberger along with Collin, Natalie and Grady, Newton; and Chad (Tara Shae) Hershberger along with Kohen, Archer, and Pennington, Derby. She is also survived by her Mother Rhoda Hartman, Kidron OH, and two sisters, Barb (Ralph) Reinford, Dalton, OH; and Brenda (Mark) Hartman-Souder, Syracuse, NY, along with nieces, nephews and their families. Private graveside services will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery, rural Newton. Memorial services will take place at 4 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 23, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.&nbsp;

On September 10th&nbsp;2022 at 3:43pm heaven gained another angel, Michael L Wright at the age of 67. To his family and friends he was known as “Chopper” or “Porky”. He was a beloved father, brother and son. He spent his life loving antique cars, German memorabilia, model cars and collecting so many other antiques throughout the years but his main love was his cats and family. There was nothing he wouldn’t of done for his family or friends. He was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson, KS and a graduate of Hutchinson High in 1973. He lived a simple satisfying life in his country home for over 25 years. Before his retirement most of his jobs were sitting in the driver’s seat and included Bett’s Bakery, Anheuser-Bush, Groendyke Transport then finally owning his own business Affordable Wrecker.

He passed in peace at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center spending his last moments with his family. He is survived by his daughter Kristina Jarrett and her husband Cody Jarrett, son Chad Ringwald, and seven grandkids: Taylor Wyler and her husband Arick Wyler, Kaleb Parker, Faith Jarrett, Mikaela Jarrett, Micah Jarrett, Cody Ringwald and Jaycee Ringwald and 2 great granddaughters Aniyah and Aria Wyler all From Hutchinson, Ks. Also his younger sister Rhonda Wright of Arlington, TX and her two children Travis Kenney and Kelsey Kenney.

He is proceeded in death by his father Arthur Wright, mother Virginia Wright, both sets of grandparents and several aunts and uncles. As well as several of his beloved cats Mitten, Maverick, Noz and Baby girl. In lieu of flowers all donations can be made to Kristina Jarrett in care of Old Mission Heritage Funeral Home.

Sherry Lynn (Powell) Heidrick, age 74, of Hutchinson, passed away on September 8, 2022. Sherry was born on September 17, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Lynn and Betty (Frink) Powell.

Sherry leaves behind her brother Mickey Powell and sister Cynthia Powell, her 3 children, Shannon Demars, Danya (John) Campbell, and Colin (Angie) Costley, and grandchildren Kyle, Jeffery, Dalton, Dustin, Kathryn (Tanner), Garrett, Bailey,Parker, Riley, and Asher.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John.

Sherry was a kind soul that will be missed deeply.
