Bonnie Lou (McKee) Fry, age 79, residing in Park City, passed away surrounded by her family on November 3, 2022, after battling metastatic breast cancer for many years.
Bonnie, born on October 2, 1943, grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from Wichita East High School in 1961. She attended Wichita University.
Bonnie married Carl E. Fry on June 24, 1966 and went on to have two beautiful children; Steven Greg and Kimberly Suzanne. Bonnie was an accomplished woman, wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived a full life and enjoyed traveling, participating in car shows, collecting glass candy containers, flower gardening, and spoiling her children and grandchildren.
She landed her first “real” job at Wesley Medical Center where she retired after working 40+ years at the hospital. She had a lifelong passion volunteering and raising money for Cars for Charity, Ability Point (The Arc of Sedgwick County), and Starkey.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Albert Earl McKee; mother Naoma Vivian (Stone) McKee, both of Wichita; brother Denny Lynn McKee of Rogue River, Oregon; and Sister Patricia Marie McKee-Hilburn of Valley Center.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Carl; son Steven Fry and his wife Windy Fry of Goddard; daughter Kimberly Fry of Wichita; three granddaughters, Abigail Fry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Faith Fry of Goddard, and Alyssa Fry of Goddard.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Hope Church, 2000 S. Hillside St. (Hillside @ East Mt. Vernon), Wichita, KS 67211.
