Teresa’s life began on August 8, 1928, near Fredonia, on the family farm. She is the daughter of Charles and Beulah (McNett) Love. The family moved around quite a bit during the depression and returned to Kansas when Teresa was 17. 

She worked briefly for Southwestern Bell before marrying Valerian H. Tajchman on June 8, 1963, in Wichita. Teresa was a faithful and strong Catholic. She was involved in Altar Society and Right to Life groups. 

She is survived by her children Vickie (Steve) Jirak of Ramona, Jacqueline (Greg) Jirak of Oakley, Clay (Candace) Tajchman of Ramona and Scott (Danielle) Tajchman of Hutchinson; grandchildren Raschelle ( Christopher) Bruck, Seth (Gina) Jirak, Jacob Jirak, Elias Jirak, Ethan (Maggie) Jirak, Heidi Jirak, Emma ( Isaac) Follett, Leo Jirak, Pius Jirak, Ivan Jirak, Chelsea (Thieen) Antoszyk, Samantha (Chris ) Wilson, Noah Tajchman, Adi Tajchman, Mila Tajchman, Dominic Tajchman, Zelie Tajchman, Bernadette Tajchman, and Pia Tajchman; great grandchildren Grace, Lydia, Lucy, Vincent, Liam, Xavier, Cecelia, Nancie, Sebastian, Casper, Miriam, Isabelle, Kash, Hayden and Arabella; sister Joan Barton, sister in law Evelyn Tajchman, brother in law Herman Strafuss and several nieces and nephews. 

 Teresa passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Forest Hawkins, Faye Lawson, Winnie Simon, Frieda Glover, Bill Love, Ben Love and grandchildren Lindsay and Felicity Jirak. 

Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. Her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3rd at 10 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest in Pilsen Cemetery. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.&nbsp;

Ella Jean Beauchamp, 100, passed away October 28, 2022 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.  She was born May 5, 1922 in Omaha, Nebraska to Ernest and Ona (Rasher) McCraw. 

 She married Jack Beauchamp October 11, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Survivors include: son, Mark (Donna) Beauchamp of Olathe; daughter, Marilyn (Wilmer) Bartel of rural Hillsboro; half sister, Sallie Haines; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Roscoe Eugene “Gene” Ricketts, 90, of Little River, passed away October 26, 2022, at his home. He was born November 30, 1931, in Westphalia,&nbsp; the son of Roscoe Esmond and Lydia Ellen Smith Ricketts. 

Gene has resided in Little River for the past 66 years, formerly of Geneseo. He graduated from Geneseo High School with the class of 1949. Gene served in the United States Navy from April 2, 1951 until his honorable discharge on March 24, 1955. He worked for twenty years as a machinist at Cessna in Hutchinson, Kansas, and for twenty years as a United Parcel Service (UPS) driver. Gene was also a road grader operator for Rockville Township, a farm hand and foster parent. He was a member of the Congregational Church, Little River; member of Moose Lodge #982 of Hutchinson; and a member of the Dwight Lamson Post #258 American Legion of Little River, where he held various offices. Gene was a ‘jack of all trades’, enjoyed woodworking; and most of all watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. On October 7, 1956, Gene was united in marriage with Karen Burke in Little River. They have shared 66 years of marriage. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen of the home; two sons, James Ricketts and wife Judy of PA, and Mitchell Ricketts of McPherson; two daughters, Jane Richards of Park City, and Shelby Stabile and husband Jonathan of NH; two sisters, Wynona Soler of TX, and Gaye Dyck of TX; five grandchildren, Abbi Downing and husband Darrin of Wichita, Courtney Ewertt and husband Shane of Little River, Lauren Young and husband Gage of Cheney, Elizabeth Stabile of NH, and Gabriella Stabile of NH; and seven great-grandchildren, Jhet, Eisley, Daxton, Eastyn, Everett, Whitten, and Will. Frieda Lindburg, 74, died October 24, 2022, in Hutchinson. She was born in Emporia, on September 12, 1948, to Cliff and Maxine (Parker) Lindburg. The Lindburgs moved to Hutchinson in 1952. Frieda graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966, where she was active in choir and tennis. She studied music education at Southwestern College, was inducted into Mu Phi Epsilon, and was one of ten semi-finalists for the Wichita Symphony Orchestra’s Naftzger Young Artist Auditions and Awards.&nbsp; Frieda taught junior high music before moving to Munich Germany to attend the Munich Music Academy.

She was a prolific performer, known for her veracity and tenacity, singing some of the most difficult leading soprano roles, her favorites being Abigaille in Verdi’s “Nabucco” and Rosalinde in Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus”. Frieda also performed as a soloist with symphony and church orchestras, including Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Requiems by Brahms, Faure and Verdi, and Haydn’s Creation. During her opera career, Lindburg performed with the State Opera of Kiel, the Opera Houses of Trier, Augsburg and Saarbrucken, the Offenbach Theatre, the Winterthur (a premiere opera tour of France), and the Heidenheimer Festival, which was featured on German National Television’s “Aspects of Culture”.

Frieda returned to the United States in 2005, and enjoyed a post-retirement career as a dog trainer, active in the Hutchinson Kennel Club. She also joined the First Mennonite Church, where she participated in the choir and was featured as a soloist many times.

Frieda is survived by: sister, Ann Lindburg, Hudson, Colorado; aunt, Billie Lindburg, Tulsa, Oklahoma; cousins, Datha Lindburg, Lindsborg, Carol Jean Martin, Sharon; cousin, Kim Harper, Ellsworth; and others.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Cliff Lindburg; mother, Maxine (Parker) Lindburg; brother, Kirk Lindburg; and uncle, Merl Lindburg.

Memorial service will be 10:30 am Saturday, November 5, 2022, at First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Sara Blodgett officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5 pm daily at Elliott Mortuary.

Frieda Lindburg  |1948-2022|  

On August 12, 1926 Margaret entered this world, the ninth of eleven children born to Abraham “A.T.” and Anna (Ediger) Neufeld. Her growing up years were spent working and playing on their farm west of Inman. Many fond stories were told of these years, as she and her siblings learned to live on little and laugh a lot. From a young age, Margaret dreamed of someday being a nurse. She attended Little Valley Grade School in Little Valley Township and graduated from Inman High School. After high school Margaret began nurses training at the Bethel Deaconess hospital. Those years were special to her and she formed a number of lifelong friendships with her nursing classmates, the March Winds, as they called themselves. During her nursing tenure, she was invited to W.F. &amp; Esther Wiebe’s for an evening of table games. It was there that she met Richard Wiebe from Whitewater. That acquaintance progressed from friendship to courtship and from courtship to love. They were married August 12, 1951 at the Bethel Mennonite Church near Inman, KS.

Mom enthusiastically joined Dad in his life and work. They farmed for a living, but they didn’t live to farm. Rather they lived to glorify the Lord and serve the people in their lives. Seven children were born to them and became their primary work. They poured themselves into training us to live life according to scriptural principles. We often heard Mom say, “Dad and I are one!” Mom taught us much with her words and even more with her example.

She faithfully sought to be the wife and mother described in Proverbs 31:

● She “looks to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”

● She “opens her mouth with wisdom and teaches with kindness.”

● She “clothes herself with strength and dignity.”

We often heard her singing when we were growing up. Sometimes it was hymns for her own encouragement, and other times her singing was for our instruction. “Grumble on Monday, grumble on Tuesday, grumble the whole week through…”, or “Angry words, oh let them never...” were a couple of instructive songs we heard from her when our attitudes were not right. She was a “mentor” long before the term became popular as she mentored her children and other individuals God brought into her life. She enjoyed many things, like flowers, baking, a cup of coffee, and visiting with friends. There were also things she didn’t enjoy like snakes, butchering chickens (butchering in general), driving (she always had one foot on the accelerator and the other foot on the brake), beets, hominy, washing the milk buckets, and a few other things, but we rarely noticed because she wasn’t a complainer.

Mom generally loved life and had a ready smile and a cheerful disposition. It was a rare occasion for her to turn down the opportunity to attend church, watch her kids or grandkids compete in a ballgame, or go to one of her family’s homes for a visit. She loved her Neufeld family and the Christmas gathering that took place each year in Inman. Another highlight for her were the birthday celebrations with her five sisters. These day-long visits were filled with love and laughter, sharing and caring, and more laughter.

Mom wasn’t a perfectionist nor a perfect person. Her cooking was good, but not gourmet. Her house and yard were well kept, but they were never put on a magazine front. She had struggles; yet distasteful memories of her are few. She was a person very much in the background, rarely on stage or in the limelight, yet so strong in her own quiet way, faithfully encouraging, supporting, praying for, and being loyal to those the Lord had entrusted to her.

Mom became a Christian as a young girl, kneeling with her Dad in the farmhouse dining room, praying in German as she confessed her sin to the Lord and accepted Jesus’ forgiveness. At times, she struggled with knowing for sure that she was saved, but over time that changed. Romans 10:13, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved“ was shared with her by one of her granddaughters. She clung to that verse as well as John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” Mom’s walk with the Lord was consistent, spending time reading and praying for each of her family and others every morning and night…and often throughout the day. She had a stack of verses she memorized and reviewed daily. At the end of her life, she asked us to pray that she would be faithful to the end and patient until the Lord came to get her. Her faith has “found a resting place”.

Mom never really retired, but her activities changed. Gardening went from a large vegetable garden to flower beds. Cooking for nine eventually changed to meals for two and then to getting supper just for herself (a bologna sandwich was her favorite). Responsibilities changed again when Dad had to move to Wheat State Manor. Mom faithfully attended him each day until the Lord called him Home on September 10, 2017. Several years later, declining health required her to move to Presbyterian Manor. She was saddened to leave the home she loved but accepted her plight graciously. She kept up her work by interacting with her visitors, spending time praying, reading scripture, being content, and being thankful. The staff could hear her praying from her bed when they passed by her room in the evening. We found in her journal a statement she had written for herself years ago, “My goal is to first of all be a happy, contented wife who is pleasing to my husband and a mother whom my children will always like to come home to. And, most of all, I want to be what Jesus wants me to be.” Mom never retired from any of that.

Mom’s strength of character was not an inborn trait. Rather, it came from the relationship she had with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and the work He did in and through her. She passed from this life into Heaven on October 22, 2022.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wiebe; three brothers, Hank, Dan, and Abe; six sisters, Lena Thiessen, Marie Gilley, Ann Jantz, Sally Wiens, Kate Ensz and Linda Neufeld; two grandsons, Caleb Neal and Kameron Wiebe, and one grandson-in law, Chris Harder.

She is survived by her children, Marjorie and Don Price of Missouri, Cecil and Jacque Wiebe of Burns, Lyle and Lenora Wiebe of Whitewater, Lewis and Jenny Wiebe of Whitewater, Winnie and Ed Neal of Texas, Wanita and Russ Busenitz of Peabody, and Marlys and Steve Unruh of Newton; 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws Gladys and Arlene Wiebe, and brother Cornie Neufeld.

Visitation for Margaret will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Emmaus Mennonite Church from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Funeral service will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, also at Emmaus Mennonite Church beginning at 4:00 p.m. Services will be led by Pastor Tim Mace. Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater, is serving the family.&nbsp;

Those years were special to her and she formed a number of lifelong friendships with her nursing classmates, the March Winds, as they called themselves. During her nursing tenure, she was invited to W.F. &amp; Esther Wiebe’s for an evening of table games. It was there that she met Richard Wiebe from Whitewater. That acquaintance progressed from friendship to courtship and from courtship to love. They were married August 12, 1951 at the Bethel Mennonite Church near Inman, KS.Mom enthusiastically joined Dad in his life and work. They farmed for a living, but they didn’t live to farm. Rather they lived to glorify the Lord and serve the people in their lives. Seven children were born to them and became their primary work. They poured themselves into training us to live life according to scriptural principles. We often heard Mom say, “Dad and I are one!” Mom taught us much with her words and even more with her example.She faithfully sought to be the wife and mother described in Proverbs 31:● She “looks to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”● She “opens her mouth with wisdom and teaches with kindness.”● She “clothes herself with strength and dignity.”We often heard her singing when we were growing up. Sometimes it was hymns for her own encouragement, and other times her singing was for our instruction. “Grumble on Monday, grumble on Tuesday, grumble the whole week through…”, or “Angry words, oh let them never...” were a couple of instructive songs we heard from her when our attitudes were not right. She was a “mentor” long before the term became popular as she mentored her children and other individuals God brought into her life. She enjoyed many things, like flowers, baking, a cup of coffee, and visiting with friends. There were also things she didn’t enjoy like snakes, butchering chickens (butchering in general), driving (she always had one foot on the accelerator and the other foot on the brake), beets, hominy, washing the milk buckets, and a few other things, but we rarely noticed because she wasn’t a complainer.Mom generally loved life and had a ready smile and a cheerful disposition. It was a rare occasion for her to turn down the opportunity to attend church, watch her kids or grandkids compete in a ballgame, or go to one of her family’s homes for a visit. She loved her Neufeld family and the Christmas gathering that took place each year in Inman. Another highlight for her were the birthday celebrations with her five sisters. These day-long visits were filled with love and laughter, sharing and caring, and more laughter.Mom wasn’t a perfectionist nor a perfect person. Her cooking was good, but not gourmet. Her house and yard were well kept, but they were never put on a magazine front. She had struggles; yet distasteful memories of her are few. She was a person very much in the background, rarely on stage or in the limelight, yet so strong in her own quiet way, faithfully encouraging, supporting, praying for, and being loyal to those the Lord had entrusted to her.Mom became a Christian as a young girl, kneeling with her Dad in the farmhouse dining room, praying in German as she confessed her sin to the Lord and accepted Jesus’ forgiveness. At times, she struggled with knowing for sure that she was saved, but over time that changed. Romans 10:13, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved“ was shared with her by one of her granddaughters. She clung to that verse as well as John 6:37, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” Mom’s walk with the Lord was consistent, spending time reading and praying for each of her family and others every morning and night…and often throughout the day. She had a stack of verses she memorized and reviewed daily. At the end of her life, she asked us to pray that she would be faithful to the end and patient until the Lord came to get her. Her faith has “found a resting place”.Mom never really retired, but her activities changed. Gardening went from a large vegetable garden to flower beds. Cooking for nine eventually changed to meals for two and then to getting supper just for herself (a bologna sandwich was her favorite). Responsibilities changed again when Dad had to move to Wheat State Manor. Mom faithfully attended him each day until the Lord called him Home on September 10, 2017. Several years later, declining health required her to move to Presbyterian Manor. She was saddened to leave the home she loved but accepted her plight graciously. She kept up her work by interacting with her visitors, spending time praying, reading scripture, being content, and being thankful. The staff could hear her praying from her bed when they passed by her room in the evening. We found in her journal a statement she had written for herself years ago, “My goal is to first of all be a happy, contented wife who is pleasing to my husband and a mother whom my children will always like to come home to. And, most of all, I want to be what Jesus wants me to be.” Mom never retired from any of that.Mom’s strength of character was not an inborn trait. Rather, it came from the relationship she had with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and the work He did in and through her. She passed from this life into Heaven on October 22, 2022.Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wiebe; three brothers, Hank, Dan, and Abe; six sisters, Lena Thiessen, Marie Gilley, Ann Jantz, Sally Wiens, Kate Ensz and Linda Neufeld; two grandsons, Caleb Neal and Kameron Wiebe, and one grandson-in law, Chris Harder.She is survived by her children, Marjorie and Don Price of Missouri, Cecil and Jacque Wiebe of Burns, Lyle and Lenora Wiebe of Whitewater, Lewis and Jenny Wiebe of Whitewater, Winnie and Ed Neal of Texas, Wanita and Russ Busenitz of Peabody, and Marlys and Steve Unruh of Newton; 30 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws Gladys and Arlene Wiebe, and brother Cornie Neufeld.Visitation for Margaret will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Emmaus Mennonite Church from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Funeral service will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, also at Emmaus Mennonite Church beginning at 4:00 p.m. Services will be led by Pastor Tim Mace. Alma Louise Markley, 94, passed away October 27, 2022, in Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; She was born August 16, 1928, in Dover, the daughter of Mancell and Pearl (Lister) Akers.&nbsp; Alma resided in Topeka, most of her life.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James ‘Jay’ Don Markley of 72 years, and a daughter, Loretta.

Alma was a homemaker most of her life which included taking care of other children.&nbsp; She was known as an excellent baker and famous chocolate cake maker.&nbsp; Alma was always up to playing cards and games at any time.&nbsp;

She is survived by: her son, Jay Markley and wife Judy of Denton, TX; daughter, Connie Lyle of Hutchinson; grandchildren: Kelli Miller, Matthew Markley, David Markley, and Kristen Troop; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandsons.&nbsp;

Janice L Demel 71, died October 25, 2022 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. She was born December 26, 1950 in Sangor, California to Ervin R. and Mildred (Cornelius) Brown. On April 16, 1983 she married Vernon Demel at Newton.

Janice attended St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Parishes in Newton and McPherson. She was currently employed as a LPN at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. Janice has practiced nursing for over 20 years and was a member of the nurses association.

She greatly enjoyed shopping and garage sales, she also had a love for animals. Her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed keeping up with her grandkids activities. She is survived by her husband Vernon; son Jeff Scott; daughter Katherine Hauck; grandchildren Brianna, Trisha, Kaylee, Lane, Andrew, McKayla; great grandchildren Alexander, Ayanna, Isabela, Christian, Addilline, Veyron, Mason, Emmitt, and Axel; brothers Ray and George Brown and sister Kathleen Schmidt. Janice is preceded in death by her parents.

Norbert Greiving, passed away Oct. 25, 2022 at the Hilltop Manor, Cunningham.

He was born May 12, 1922, at Nashville. The son of John and Frances Linnebur Greiving, Norbert enjoyed his life as a farmer and stockman in St. Leo. He was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

His favorite pastime was fishing with his friends and family. Norbert was able to experience one final fishing trip at his pond shortly after his 100th birthday.

Survivors include sisters Aquina Stonestreet, Adela Mae Becker and Louella Fairchild; his brother Adelphus Greiving; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Valerian, Orville Lee and Raineldas; sisters Alvina Mulnix, Geraldine Voth and Beatrice Greiving; half-brothers Wilfred and Victor; and half-sister Eunice Decker.

Clinton Isom Petty, 84, died peacefully at his home in Reflection Ridge Retirement , Wichita, on October 24, 2022. He was born September 13, 1938, in Mt. Erie, Illinois to Harl and Alta Petty. On June 15, 1957, he married the love of his life, Donna Rae Christy in Hutchinson. He was retired from IBM, a Navy veteran, and a member of Northside Church of Christ, Wichita.

Clint spent his entire life pursuing to be a better person and in the encouragement of others. Clint loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and later his great-grandchildren. He entertained all with his stories, his jokes, his light teasing and his duck noises. Since the passing of his beloved wife two years ago, he devoted himself to greeting every resident in his complex by name at every meal, encouraging the young servers at dinner, and to the teaching of a weekly Bible study.

Clint entered the Navy at 17 to pursue a better life. His Navy life would give him discipline and stability and it would lead him to the Hutchinson Naval Air Base. He soon met his future wife and she introduced him to a closer relationship with Jesus which would impact how he lived the rest of his life.

After serving in the Navy, based out of KeyWest, FL, he returned to Hutchinson to the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard and was in charge of the Hydraulics Department. Later he would be reassigned to Topeka as a ground instructor to retrain Vietnam helicopter pilots for reconnaissance missions. In 1968, he went to work for IBM as a Customer Service Engineer and in 1970 moved to Great Bend where he would work on office machines in most of western Kansas for the next seven years before being transferred to Hutchinson. Later he would be become a Field Manager and eventually the Assistant Branch Manager in the Wichita office for the Service Division of IBM. After 25 years of service, Clint retired from IBM and increased his roles at church and as a Grandpa. He and Donna moved to Dodge City in 1999 to be closer to their grandchildren and all their activities in the Macksville and Minneola school districts.

In 2004 they moved to Enid, OK and returned to Kansas in 2014. Clint would serve as a Bible class teacher and Deacon, and served as an Elder in three congregations they attended.

He is survived by his son, Chuck (Karen) of Macksville and daughter, Molly (Robert) Heyen of Overland Park. His grandchildren, Steve (Kristin) Petty, Gary (Jessica) Petty and Nicole Petty, all of St. John. Richard Petty, Great Bend. Elizabeth (Matt) Baur, St. Paul, MN, Natalie (Reid) Stafford, Memphis, TN, Jared Heyen and Konrad Heyen, both of New York City, NY, and seven Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Harl Jr., William and Gerald, sisters Patricia Jackson, Lou Petty and Sue Lenear.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, KS. Family Visitation will be an hour prior to services. They were married for 52 years. Donna graduated from Walton High School in Walton, KS. She was a home maker all her life. She was a member of Penalosa Methodist Church in Penalosa, KS. She enjoyed KU Basketball, Kansas City Chiefs and the KC Royals, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom kept her busy and she loved every minute of it. She is survived by her son, Mark &amp; Cathi Dickerson of Broadway, North Carolina; and daughter, Denise &amp; Kenny Applegate of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Natasha, Nathan, Megan, Chase, Conner, Tyler, Madison, Olivia and Tara; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Larry Gilchrist of Hays, Kansas; and sister, Karen Gilchrist of Bel Aire, Kansas. Michael W. Jones, 70, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2022, surrounded by family at Brookdale of McPherson where he had resided for the past three months during a short battle with cancer.

Michael was born on August 3, 1952, in McPherson, the son of Robert K. and Velma L. His enjoyments were woodworking, fish keeping (in aquariums), dogs, and Thanksgiving family get togethers.

Survivors include: his aunt, Joyce Rickner of Wichita, KS; cousins, Glenyce (Tom) Maestas, Cheryl (Numa) Dupont, Darryl (Kathy) Rickner, Norma Sue Rockenbach, Gemma Rickner, Lori (Randy) Hurst, Diane (Brent) Rotha, Denny (Helen) Allison, Dean Allison, Shari (Daryl) Becker, Kim (Tom) Klocek, and Jeff Allison; and many more extended family.

She received her education in a Country School and Mountain Lake High School, graduating in 1952. She took an Accounting Course at Mankato Business School in Mankato, MN. Mary Mae was baptized upon her confession of faith in 1950 and became a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, Mountain Lake, MN. After her marriage, she transferred her membership to Buhler Mennonite Church, Buhler, KS. On October 15, 1955, Mary was united in marriage to Alfred Schmidt at the Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. After their marriage, they established their home in Buhler. To this union, one son, Kenneth Duane, was born on October 25, 1956. Mary worked in banking for 34 years in Minnesota, Hutchinson and Buhler, retiring in 2003. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Jessica Vaile and Misty (Leo) Xicum Ku; daughter-in-law, Cindy; step grandson, Ryan (Chelsea) Penner; five great-grandchildren, Christian and Connor Vaile, and Kai, Hazel and Koa Xicum; two step great-grandchildren; brother, Marlyn (Amanda) Fast; sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Janice; and many nieces and nephews. Marvin R. Voth, 99, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, after a short hospital stay. Marvin was born April 28, 1923 at his home on the farm in McPherson County to Herman S. and Elizabeth Enz Voth. He married Linda (Nickel) Voth on Sept. 3, 1947. She passed away in 2011. Marvin, of Goessel, is survived by sons, Verney and wife, Janice, James and wife, Gayle, and Dwight and wife, Jane Ann; and daughters, LaVera and husband, James Parker and Connie and husband, Jake Ward. He had eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is sister, Martha Voth, and sisters-in-law MaryAnn Woelk, Norma Duerksen, and Phyllis Nickel. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Willard Voth, Otto Voth, Agnes Goossen, Ella Weinbrenner, Ruby Mastellar, Irene Janzen, and Marie Voth. Marvin was a lifetime farmer, who spent 47 years working the land and operating a dairy. He also raised sheep, cattle, hogs, and chickens at various times. He continued to keep up with crops and farming operations as he became older. He and wife Linda moved into Goessel in 1994, where they adjusted well to town life. After Linda’s death, he continued to live independently, learning to bake zwiebach and cookies and willingly sharing them with his coffee group and with his family. In 2021, at the age of 98, he moved into Bethesda Home, where he enjoyed socializing with others and attending many activities. His gracious spirit and friendly nature was enjoyed by those around him. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel. The memorial service will be on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Alexanderwohl.

Miller, 97, passed away October 11, 2022, at Mennonite Friendship Communities.&nbsp; She was born October 5, 1925, in Yoder, the daughter of Enos and Lydiann Bontrager Yoder.&nbsp; A resident of the Yoder and Hutchinson area all of her life, she was a member of The Father’s House, where she was actively involved.&nbsp; She had worked at Western Foods, until retirement and then did light housekeeping for various people.

On October 6, 1946, she married Wilmer D. Miller in Yoder.&nbsp; He passed away January 18, 2009.

Survivors include her children, Wanda Morgan, Donita (Danny) King, and Rodney Miller, all of Hutchinson; a brother, Melvin Yoder, South Hutchinson; 2 sisters, Elnora Yoder Cake, South Hutchinson, and Doris Simpson, Clermont, FL; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Karla Dellinger, July of this year; a grandson, Jason King; a brother, Homer Yoder; and a sister, Mary Kaufman.

Lindie passed peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Hospice House after a short illness. She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 17th, 1934 to Frederick and Caroline Turpen who are both deceased.

She married her high school sweetheart, William E. Dimmick on June 15, 1952, who preceded her in death in 2008.

Lindie is survived by her daughters, Sheli Carey (Bryan) and Sheri Corwin. She also had another (daughter by another mother) Patty Higgins and a brother Monte Turpen.

Her grandchildren are: Shana Carey Hofmeier (Andy), Matt Carey, Brandon Corwin (Gabby Gonzales). Her great-grandchildren are: Destiny, Elijah, Tristan, Tyler, Austin, Caden, Cali, Sophia, and Abigail.

Others deceased are: son-in-law Randy Corwin (Sheri) and grandchild Andrew Corwin, and a brother Tom Turpen.

She had so many great friends, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed but now she is reunited with her loved ones that have passed before her.

On October 22, 2022, Anna Marie Young Warner, 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on April 30, 1925, to Andrew and Lydia Young at their family home in Gridley. Ann married Howard Warner on August 29, 1942, in Belle Plaine. They raised their eight children on a farm in Arlington.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband and 3 children, Andy, Eddie and Beth. She is survived by five children, Gwen (Tommy) Miller, Cindi Morris, Don (Becky) Warner, RoiAnn (Scotty) Broome and Kevin (Gloria) Warner. Ann was a proud and loving grandma to 26 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

Ann was happiest when she was cooking and hosting family gatherings. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing games (winning most of them!) made quilts for her family, cooked the worlds best sweet rolls, and was a hard worker. Above everything, she approached everyone, and everything, with dedication and love, and she faithfully lived her life according to God's Word. She was a member of the Wichita Apostolic Christian Church.&nbsp;

A visitation will be Friday, October 28, 6-8 pm at Westside Baptist Church with a funeral service Saturday, October 29, 11 am.&nbsp;

Edith was a loving wife and mother who loved watching the old TV westerns and enjoyed her cats over the years.

Edith will ride gloriously through the gates of heaven to the cheers of joy from all the loved ones waiting for her. He was a long-time faithful member of Eastwood Church of Christ. John loved bowling and was on too many leagues to count. In addition, he was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and tried to never miss a game. On Dec 31, 1955, John married Marjorie A Bender, in Moundridge. They shared almost 67 years of marriage.&nbsp; She survives.

Also surviving are: his three daughters, Debbie Wilson, Diane Farney (Rudy), all of Hutchinson, and Donna McCoy (Kent) of Granby, CO; grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Jeni Perko (Jack), Ami Ratzlaff (Tanner), Julie McNeil (Brett) and Megan DeCorte (Chris); 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette “Kay” Goodsheller of McPherson. He was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings; Evelyn Ratzlaff, Thomas Skipworth, Jimmy Skipworth, and Patsy Skipworth; and a grandson, Kyle McCoy.

Richard Paul “Dick” Saffle, 87, of Hutchinson, died October 24, 2022, at Hospice House. He was born October 6, 1935, in Mount Hope, to Paul A. and Frances L. (Staggers) Saffle.

Dick graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1954 and attended Hutchinson Junior College. He served in the United States Navy Reserves for 8 years. Dick worked in sales and management in the furniture industry for many years. He enjoyed golfing and watching sports of all kinds. Dick was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #982 for 66 years and was of the Methodist faith.

On June 6, 1954, he married Nancy Joan Schroeder in Hutchinson. She died January 27, 1991.

Dick is survived by: his children, Lois Cook (John) of Semmes, AL, Rick Saffle of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Angela Hinds (James) of Yukon, OK, John Paul Cook of Spanish Fort, AL; great-grandchildren, Sara Stancil (Garrett) of Yukon, OK, Christian Hinds (Leah) of Arvada, CO, Grace Fannin of Tuscaloosa, AL, Scott Hinds of Yukon, OK; brothers, Steve Saffle (Pam) of Augusta, Darrell Saffle of Apple Valley, MN; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Gary Saffle, Sarah Huss, and Patricia Mans.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Bill Gies officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Richard Paul “Dick” Saffle, 87, of Hutchinson, died October 24, 2022, at Hospice House. He was born October 6, 1935, in Mount Hope, to Paul A. and Frances L. (Staggers) Saffle.Dick graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1954 and attended Hutchinson Junior College. He served in the United States Navy Reserves for 8 years. Dick worked in sales and management in the furniture industry for many years. He enjoyed golfing and watching sports of all kinds. Dick was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #982 for 66 years and was of the Methodist faith.On June 6, 1954, he married Nancy Joan Schroeder in Hutchinson. Virginia Rose Packebush, 90, of Partridge, died October 23, 2022, at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born December 16, 1931, in rural Partridge, to William and Sadie (Shaffer) Stiggins.

Virginia graduated from Partridge High School in 1949. She was married in 1950, to OJ “Pack” Packebush, in Partridge. Together they owned the Partridge Garage. Later they sold the garage and moved to the farm. They worked hard on the farm and made a great team. Virginia was a loving homemaker while her children were growing up. She was a servant at heart, as she was very involved in the church and community. Virginia was a passionate organist for the Partridge Community Church for 73 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Virginia made many memories for her family by taking them on fun filled adventures and trips.

Virginia and Pack shared 57 years of marriage before his passing on June 2, 2008.

Virginia is survived by: son, Randy Packebush, South Hutchinson; daughter, Annette Mathias (Randy), Partridge; daughter, Donna Schadler (Melvin), Geneseo; son, Steve Packebush (Kim), Wichita; grandchildren, Jamie Burns (Stoney), Matt and Nic Packebush, Sara Bieghler (Josh), Steven Mathias (Chelsey), Tim Mathias (Julie), Emily Fankhauser (Steven), Ryan Schadler (Madi), Christian and Rachel Packebush; 13 great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; infant daughter, Kathy Ann; brothers, Verl and Lynn Stiggins.

Bobbie ‘Bob’ Dale Woelk, 76, died peacefully October 23, 2022, at the Kansas Veterans Home, Winfield.&nbsp; He was born October 29, 1945, to Ronald V. Woelk and Marcie Marie (Friesen) Woelk, in Newton.&nbsp; Bob married the love of his life, Sachiko Baba, on February 20, 1967.

He served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1966.&nbsp; Returning home to Hutchinson after serving, Bob was employed 35 years at the Hutchinson Salt Company (Carey Salt Mine) as a salt block mixer, where he was often referred to by his coworkers as “Mr. Dependable”.

He is survived by: his daughter, Kathy (Yassin) Jaafar of Dearborn, MI; grandson, Aliskander Jaafar; brothers, Darrell (Barbara) Woelk and Keith (Brenda) Woelk; and nephews, Matt Woelk, Paul Woelk, and Chad Woelk.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sachiko.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Buhler Municipal West Cemetery, Buhler, KS, with Pastor Tonya Ramer Wenger officiating.&nbsp; Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard.&nbsp; Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary.
