Vida Marie (Miller) Yutzy, 93, died February 4, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born February 25, 1929, in Kalona, Iowa, to Sylvanus and Martha (Beachy) Miller.

Vida completed the McPherson College LPN program and was very proud of her career as a nurse. She was a South Hutchinson resident for over 60 years before recently moving to Buhler. Vida enjoyed reading, puzzles, and the computer. She became very involved in the activities at Sunshine Meadows, including bingo, Wii Bowling, and music programs. Vida was an active member of Journey Mennonite Church and participated in women’s sewing, youth group, kitchen help, and Bible school. She also belonged to national and state LPN organizations.

On September 21, 1947, Vida married Oliver “Fred” Yutzy, in Kalona, Iowa. They shared 44 years before he passed on March 17, 1992.

She is survived by: daughters, Myrna Christiansen, Hutchinson, Gloria Hall (Steve), Hutchinson, Stella Riney, Haven, Connie Warrington, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Miller, Kalona, Iowa, Ivan and Emma Miller, Hutchinson, Bill and Leanna Yutzy, El Dorado, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.

Vida was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Fred Yutzy; son, James Yutzy; grandson, Jay Christiansen; son-in-law, Monte Warrington; brothers, Leo, Howard (Vesta), Glenn (Lois), Ray (Velma), Sylvanus “JR” (Eula Jean), John (Grace); and sister, Edna (Dan) Kauffman.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Journey Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Howard Wagler presiding. Burial will follow in Yoder Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 am to 8 pm Thursday and Friday, with family present from 5 to 7 pm Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Evelyn Lucille “Evie” Pankratz Doerksen, 94, of Buhler, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. She was born May 24, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Isaac D. and Marie (Janzen) Dirks.

She attended Willow Grove school from 1st to 8th grade. Evelyn graduated from Buhler High School on her 18th birthday, with the class of 1946.

Evelyn was baptized on July 18, 1943. She became a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church on September 21, 1958. Evelyn later transferred her membership to Bethel Mennonite Church in Inman on May 27, 1990. She later returned to Buhler Mennonite Church in August of 2013.

She was united in marriage to John G. Pankratz on September 10, 1947. From this union they had seven children. John passed away on September 19, 1984.

Evelyn later married Martin E. Doerksen on July 8, 1989. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2010.

Evelyn started working at the drug store at the age of 14. She returned to work in 1962 at the Buhler Market where she worked as a sales associate. Evelyn retired in 1995.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Anne) Pankratz, Eileen (Ray) Sonnedecker, Mary Doerksen, Ann Thompson, Steven Pankratz, and Jeanette (Pat) Gorrell; stepson, Brian (Teresa) Doerksen; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; one great-great-grandson; sister, Frances Pauls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, John G. Pankratz; 2nd husband, Martin E. Doerksen; stillborn son, Douglas Kent Pankratz; three brothers, Victor, Harvey and Richard Dirks; and son-in-law, Calvin Doerksen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 at Buhler Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Buhler Municipal Cemetery. My mother, Annabelle Lary went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was an incredible person who loved her faith, family, and friends.

Mom outlived all 9 of her siblings and enjoyed grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren all of whom she loved unconditionally. She was a wonderful person who always cared about those around her whether they be friends, nurses, caregivers, or acquaintances.

She survived substantial hardships in her childhood and life, was a fierce competitor, protector of her children, and worked long hard hours for her family. Writing down how much I appreciate her and will miss her would take months and years, so I will leave it at this…I love my mom.

Carol Lee Schroeder-Dahlsten, 90, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023, surrounded by family in her home.&nbsp; She was a Pizza Hut Franchisee and actively involved in the operations of many Pizza Hut restaurants in Kansas and Arizona. &nbsp;Also, in McPherson, she owned and operated Applegate’s Landing and the Pear Tree Restaurant/Peppy Partridge Dinner Club.

Carol was born September 26, 1932, in Tipton, KS, the daughter of Joseph John and Mathilda Anna (Moritz) Krier.&nbsp; She grew up outside Tipton “on the farm”, where she met her husband the first day of high school.&nbsp; On September 3, 1951, Carol was united in marriage to Eugene (Geno) H. Schroeder.&nbsp; After their many years in Wichita, they ventured together to open their first Pizza Hut restaurant in McPherson in 1972. Geno preceded her in death on April 27, 1988, but she continued to operate and grow the Pizza Hut Franchises.&nbsp;

She later married David Edward Dahlsten on August 3, 1989. Together, they traveled abroad many times.&nbsp; Perhaps, their favorite vacations were to their beloved golf destinations in Arizona and Arkansas.&nbsp; After 32 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on October 2, 2021.

Carol never lost her zest for life and remained active until shortly before her death.&nbsp; Her generosity and compassion &nbsp;extended beyond her family and touched everyone she met.&nbsp; Rarely would you speak to her without her sharing a witty remark or “saucy” joke to make you smile. &nbsp;

Survivors include: three daughters, Pat Neef (Jim) of Castle Rock, CO, Jo Littrell of McPherson, KS, and Beth Chalmers (Bruce) of Overland Park, KS; step-son, John Dahlsten (Wende) of Reno, NV; step-daughter, Michelle Dahlsten Kratofil (David) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren include Jeremy, Jarod, Dianne, Justin, Katie, Jessica, Abbey, Matthew, Mollie, Brandell, Carolann; two step-grandchildren, Aaron and Alex; 17 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her son, Tim Schroeder; son-in-law, Shelby Littrell; and six siblings.

Herbert Francis Landwehr, 77, of Sharon, KS, died Saturday, February 4, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his entire family. He was born on May 17, 1945 in Hardtner, KS, the son of Herbert W. Landwehr and Monica (Boor) Landwehr. On June 30, 1965, he married the love of his life, Vonda (Mathews-Bird) Landwehr in Sharon, KS. They were married 57 years. He was a devoted husband and friend. Herb often spoke of his love for Vonda. Herb was born the only son in a family of nine children. From a young age, Herb began working alongside his dad, mom and sisters on their family farm. In grade school Herb contracted the polio virus. As a result he was left crippled in his left leg, but in true Herb fashion, he pushed through this obstacle to not only overcome it, but to become a gifted high school athlete. This grit and determination resulted in him being given the opportunity to play college football, and served him well throughout his life. After high school, Herb devoted his life to hard work and providing for his family. He worked for Barbara Oil Company and the Sharon COOP before returning back to his love of farming, ranching and agriculture alongside his wife Vonda, and his dad. Herb also returned back to the oilfield as a contract pumper for over 30 years. He continued to farm and ranch up until his death. He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon, KS, the Knights of Columbus, the NRA, cofounder of the Sharon Valley 4-H Club, and also a member of the Hazelton COOP board. Herb loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed many years of hunting with his sons, grandkids, family and friends. He was also a skilled horseman, and enjoyed riding horses and working cattle on horseback. He had a sincere love and respect for all things nature. Herb’s greatest love and devotion was to his family and his faith. He dedicated his life to honoring and instilling the value of the love of family, and the importance of faith. Herbert Francis Landwehr |1945-2023|

Ruth Eagleson was 88 years old at the time of her death. She lived in Newton, KS with daughters Ronda and Tania. After bravely battling cancer, she passed away peacefully at Paramount Respite Care surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born April 15, 1934 at the Sterling Hospital to John Alvin Zimmerman (1892-1962) and Edna Edith (Mosier) Zimmerman (1904-1994). She was the 3rd of 5 children who grew up in a loving Mennonite home on the family farm Southwest of Sterling, KS. She graduated from Nickerson High School in 1952.

Ruth married Pat Eagleson (1932-2001) on Oct. 12, 1956 at the Sterling Mennonite Church. Ruth loved raising her 3 daughters, cooking (she was a superb cook), and sewing clothing for her family. She enjoyed living in Ottawa, KS with Jodi, in Cheyenne, WY and Garnett, KS with Ronda, and finally to be back in KS near her family. She doted on and was well loved by her 2 grand-dogs from Montana (Loki &amp; Bella). She enjoyed reading, watching Food Network and working on puzzles in her spare time.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Don and Wendell. She is survived by daughters Ronda Eagleson, Jodi Sylvester, and Tania Eagleson, sisters Lavonne (Bob) Farney and Greta Zimmerman, grandsons Matthew Sylvester and Aaron Sylvester.

A family and friends memorial time for Ruth will be held at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson on February 18th&nbsp;from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.

Joanne Berblinger Arie, 97, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away February 5, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler, Kansas. 

She was born May 17, 1925, in Offerle, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar and Ethel Hedges Laudick. Joanne has resided in Buhler since 2015, formerly of Lyons. She was homemaker, bookkeeper for Pepsi Cola, Lyons, and a clerk for both Purdy Jewelers and the Lyons Office Supply. Joanne was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, and the St. Paul Altar Society. 

She volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, Lyons Food Bank, and the Rice County Women’s Thrift Store. Joanne served on the Bell and Star Committee in Lyons. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and oil painting. 

In 1942, Joanne was united in marriage with Frederick Berblinger in Lyons. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1971. On February 4, 1977, Joanne was united in marriage with LaVern Harley Arie in Lyons. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2005. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Frederick Alan Berblinger and Jan Albert Berblinger; son-in-law, Eldon Colson Sr.; three brothers, Jack Laudick, Bob Laudick, and Mike Laudick; three sisters, Ellen Hawkins, Peggy Haas, and Patsy Baker; and a great-grandson, Wiley Colson. 

Joanne is survived by her three children, Phyllis Colson of Lyons, KS, Leslie Berblinger and wife Susan of Goddard, KS, and Jon Berblinger and wife Krista of Goddard, KS; four step-children, Cheryl Peterie, Kenneth Arie, David Arie, and Tonny Arie; ten grandchildren, Candi Almquist and husband Bruce, Diane Staples and husband Wes, J.R. Colson and wife Marilla, Teresa Schafer and husband Adam, Wesley Colson and wife Carol, Kylie Piper and husband Jon, Colton Berblinger, Jeff Berblinger, Jeremy Berblinger, and Joni Stoltz; twenty great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with family present. He was very beloved by the people in the home, and he was very very well cared for. Quite often when you would walk by him, he would give you the thumbs up. 

He was very kind and sweet and loved by everyone. The people at the TECH home mourned his passing. As well as his guardian and the Kansas guardianship program.&nbsp;

Dwight Kruse, 84, passed away February 4, 2023 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.  He was born March 4, 1938 in Marion to Harvey and Hannah (Schlotthauer) Kruse.  He married Jerrie Kaufman April 12, 1963 rural Moundridge.

Kay F. (Clifford) Reiter came into the world on March 28, 1943, in Hutchinson, to Fabrin (Fay) Clifford and Frances L. (Beck) Clifford. This special angel passed away on February 5, 2023, at Hospice House of Reno County. She was 79 years of age.

Kay’s ‘Love Language’ was to serve and care for others. This was observed at an early age by family and later led her to pursue a career in nursing. Kay was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, class of 1961. She began her career in healthcare as a Candy Striper at Grace Hospital. Kay then worked as a nurse aid at St Elizabeth Hospital and graduated from the L.P.N School of Nursing in McPherson. She continued to work at St. Elizabeth through the merger of both hospitals and ultimately Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Kay retired after 46 years of service. During these years she was an active member of AWHONN - Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.

Kay was a member of Eastern Star for 50 years. She was an excellent cook. Kay was an avid crafter and amateur photographer. She painted, crocheted, made cards and other paper crafts. Kay was also known as a collector of angels.

On October 26, 1966, she married Lester Marvin Reiter in Topeka, after successfully completing her Nursing Board Examination.

From this marriage, she received three stepdaughters, René (Scott) Griedel, Lynn Polston, and Lori (Monte) Dunkel, then in 1967, her daughter Kelly (Wes) Collins was born.

Kay is survived by: her husband, Marvin Reiter; brother, Rodger Clifford of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughters, René (Scott) Griedel of Clarksville, PA, Lynn Polston of Hutchinson, Lori (Monte) Dunkel of Glendale, AZ, Kelly (Wes) Collins of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Ryan Griedel of Clarksville, PA, Sable (Tom) Cordell of Pittsburgh, PA, Shelby Lynn Dunkel of Boston, MA, Chase Uehara of Kansas City, MO, Rylee Dunkel of Glendale, AZ, Kathrine Collins of Hutchinson; honorary daughter, Renee (Vernon) Miller of Hutchinson, and honorary son, Dr. John Fan of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Christopher Griedel.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 2 p.m. February 11, 2023, at Elliott Chapel.

Glenn Dean Stucky, 71, of Galva, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born September 10, 1951 in Goessel, Kansas, the son of Marion J. and Welma V. (Siemens) Stucky.

He graduated from Moundridge High School with the class of 1969, and later graduated from Kansas State University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Vocational Agriculture.

Glenn was a grain and livestock farmer, growing wheat and soybeans, and raising cattle.

He was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Christian.

Glenn was quite the metal worker. He loved crafting metal windmills and gifting them to family. He enjoyed watching sports and looked forward to March Madness, where he would often watch with a Dr. Pepper in hand. Above all, Glenn loved spending time with his two grandsons.

Glenn was united in marriage to Patricia Lynn Clark on July 31, 1976 at Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.

He is survived by his wife, and three children, Eric (Kat) Stucky of Wichita, Alex (Carina) Stucky of Durham, NC, and Natalie (Josh) Frye of Sabetha; two grandsons, James Stucky and Carter Frye; mother and father-in-law, Charles and Susan Clark of McPherson; brother, LaVern (Marilyn) Stucky of Peabody; sister, Nancy (Gary) Blake of Galva; brothers-in-law, Ed (Dorothy) Strausz of Alvin, TX and Dennis Clark of McPherson; and sister-in-law, Julie (Lyle) Kroeker of Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Karlyn Strausz and Phyllis Stucky.

Gary Franklin Tippett, 67, of Inman, Kansas and formerly of Pecos, Texas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, surrounded by family at Hospice House, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

He was born October 28, 1955, in Barstow, CA, the son of Myron Lee and Joada Marie (Summerville) Tippett.&nbsp; Gary spent several years driving a truck in the Texas oil fields.

Survivors include: four siblings, Cheryl (Mike) Minter of Lincoln, CA, Myron (Sherry) Tippett of Windom, KS, Lori (Jim) Rowe of Marysville, CA, and Cindy (Kelly) Brenton of Atwater, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Tippett.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Inman. Minister Dallas Nikkel will officiate the service.

John David Martens, 92, passed away February 4, 2023, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born June 29, 1930, in rural McPherson County, the son of John H. and Sara A. Neufeldt Martens. He was a graduate of Inman High School. On April 29, 1951, he married Florence Pauls at the Hoffnungsau Church, rural Inman. The two had been married over 71 years before John’s death. John retired from Dillon’s in 1995 after working for Dillon’s in the engineering and architecture department for 16 years. He had also worked for Ewing Construction for many years. He was a member of Inman Mennonite Church. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses and clocks out of barnwood. He would enjoy watching the purple martins while on his deck drinking Dr. Pepper. Survivors include sons Jim and wife Lorra and Jerry and wife Ramona, all of Inman; grandchildren, Brandi and Phil Huff, McPherson, Emily Oglesby, Shelburne, VM, Bryce A.J. and Stephanie Martens, Wichita, Amanda and John Medbery, Moundridge, and Adam and Sami Martens, Inman; 5 great grandchildren, Austin, Courtney, Devin, Lily, and Ruby; and one great great granddaughter, Maci. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Stella Thiessen and Rosella Pauls; and a daughter in law, Judy Rohrer Martens.

John David Martens, 92, passed away February 4, 2023, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born June 29, 1930, in rural McPherson County, the son of John H. and Sara A. Neufeldt Martens. He was a graduate of Inman High School. On April 29, 1951, he married Florence Pauls at the Hoffnungsau Church, rural Inman. The two had been married over 71 years before John’s death. John retired from Dillon’s in 1995 after working for Dillon’s in the engineering and architecture department for 16 years. He had also worked for Ewing Construction for many years. He was a member of Inman Mennonite Church. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses and clocks out of barnwood. He would enjoy watching the purple martins while on his deck drinking Dr. Pepper. Survivors include sons Jim and wife Lorra and Jerry and wife Ramona, all of Inman; grandchildren, Brandi and Phil Huff, McPherson, Emily Oglesby, Shelburne, VM, Bryce A.J. and Stephanie Martens, Wichita, Amanda and John Medbery, Moundridge, and Adam and Sami Martens, Inman; 5 great grandchildren, Austin, Courtney, Devin, Lily, and Ruby; and one great great granddaughter, Maci. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Stella Thiessen and Rosella Pauls; and a daughter in law, Judy Rohrer Martens.Visitation with the family present will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Inman Mennonite Church. LeRoy B. Heimerman, 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Garden Plain on Thursday, February 2, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 7, 1934 in Garden Plain to Leo &amp; Mary Heimerman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Heimerman; sister, Dolores Albert; and brothers, Donald and Eugene. He is survived by sister, Darlene Yost of Wichita; children, Chris (Denise) Heimerman of Garden Plain, KS, Lisa Heimerman of Dallas, TX, Lori (Kelly) Byers of Maize, KS, Kurt (Pam) Heimerman of Wichita, KS; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

After getting his start as a brick mason, LeRoy and his brother Gene started Heimerman Masonry, working in the field for almost 50 years. He was a Korean War Veteran as well as a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He spent endless hours gardening at the farm, hanging with friends, and enjoyed watching westerns and sports. He was a beloved and dedicated husband, father, grandpa, and friend.

Memorials have been established with the National Federation of the Blind, 200 E. Wells Street at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230 and Knights of Columbus-St. George Council #2937, 615 N. Main Garden Plain, KS 67050.

Henry Hank Halley, 83, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at his home. He was born on July 12, 1939 in Belvidere to Elmer Lloyd and Shirley (Garten) Halley. He enjoyed attending auctions, rodeos and tractor shows, cowboying and doing flea markets. Donald E. Bland, Sr., 93, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Lakewood, CO, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at McPherson Health &amp; Rehab. Don was a retired electrician and building inspector, owning &amp; operating Bland Electric.&nbsp;

Don was born on October 26, 1929, in Dillon, KS, the son of Walter Marion Shugart, Sr. and Cora Anna (Hunt) Shugart. Don spent his childhood in western Kansas with his foster parents Clifford and Ethel Bland and their family. Later he married his high school sweetheart, Katherine Berniece Tustin on February 20, 1951 in Oakley, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with three children, Donald, Jr., Robert, and Jolynn “Jody”.&nbsp; Berniece preceded Don in death on February 19, 2007.

Don was a United States Navy veteran, serving during WW II and the Korean War.

He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: three children, Don Bland, Jr. (Barbara) of McPherson, KS, Rob Bland (Karen) of Northglenn, CO, and Jolynn “Jody” Fitzmorris (Jim) of Castle Rock, CO; ten grandchildren, Laurie Willison (Lynn), Michelle Sauerwein (Josh), Stephanie Benson (Todd), Corrie Hagan (Michael), Kristi Neville (Patrick), Valerie Hernandez (Mark), Heather Singhisen (Cameron), Joshua Fitzmorris (Jensine), Erica Diamond (Colby), and Mitchell Fitzmorris (Elizabeth); 21 great-grandchildren; and many more extended family and friends.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cora Shugart; his foster parents, Clifford and Ethel Bland; wife, Berniece Bland; six siblings and five foster siblings.

Laura Renae Manwarren, 45, of Branson, Missouri, passed away February 1, 2023. She was born November 7, 1977, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Larry P. Manwarren and Donna J. Adams. Laura was a housekeeper and caregiver most of her life. She enjoyed fishing, camping, cutting firewood and most of all spending time with her family. 

Laura is survived by her father, Larry Manwarren and wife Kirsten of North Myrtle Beach, SC; mother, Donna Baer and husband Bruce of Kissee Mills, MO; four children, Jacob Colyer of Castleton, PA, and Faith Colyer of Castleton, PA, Heidi Gabriella of Blue Eye, MO, and Nicole Gabriella and significant other Justin Hutchinson of Kissee Mills, MO; brother, David Manwarren of Jefferson City, MO; three sisters, Dena Manwarren of Merriam Woods, MO, A.J. Carr of Forsyth, MO, and Sarah Baer of Forsyth, MO; four grandchildren, Zaylie, Zayden, Elliot and Waylon; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Blackie Manwarren; materal grandparents, Vern and Nadine Adams; and granddaughter, Sophia Lynn.

Kermit Edward Adelgren, 91, died February 2, 2023, at his home.&nbsp; He was born August 28, 1931, in Chanute, to Gustaf Edward and Angelina Imelda (Winterrowd) Adelgren.

Kermit graduated from Chanute High School and Kansas State University, where he was a founding member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. &nbsp;During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Army.&nbsp; For over 32 years, Kermit worked for Collingwood Grain, retiring as Vice-President of Grain Merchandising.&nbsp; During his career, he was active in the Kansas Board of Trade, where he served a term as president.&nbsp; In addition, Kermit also served on the Chicago Board of Trade.&nbsp; Whether he was attending K-State football games or watching the football team play on television, Kermit was a die-hard Kansas State University Wildcat fan his entire life!! EMAW!

Family meant everything to Kermit.&nbsp; He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Kermit is survived by:&nbsp; daughter, Lucinda Gilbert of Salina; grandson, Nathan Adelgren (Bobbie) of Hutchinson; sister, Valeta Hole of Andover; great-granddaughter, Jordanne Pinnell (Tyler); great-great-grandson Charlie Mac Pinnell, (with another great-great-grandchild on the way); step-grandson, Nathan Paul Weis; and step-great-grandsons, Shaun Black, Jayden Black, and Shea Oldham.

He was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; wife, Treva; daughter, Marlene Sue; and his companion of over 30 years, Donna.

Leland’s life began on October 14, 1931, in Goessel.&nbsp; He is the son of Art and Linda (Buller) Heidebrecht.&nbsp; 

Leland is a 1949 graduate of Newton High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korea War, stationed in Germany.&nbsp; He was united in marriage to Kay Swan on September 13, 1958, in Wichita and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage until her death in 2015.&nbsp; 

Leland was the owner of Quality Market in Marion for many years.&nbsp; He also managed Harris Bail Bonds, and Auto Mart in Marion with his friend Gerry Harris. Leland also worked for the funeral home in Marion for several years, helping to care for community families in their time of need.&nbsp; Leland was active in the Kiwanis Club in Marion, and he served on the zoning board for the City of Marion.&nbsp; Leland served on the Marion Lake Board and ran the fishing derby at the reservoir for many years.&nbsp; 

He is survived by his sons Scott (Rolana) Heidebrecht of Marion, and Dale (Christine) Heidebrecht of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren Tyson (Jessica) Heidebrecht of Omaha, Justin (Nikki) Heidebrecht of Topeka, Taylor (Erika) Heidebrecht of Emporia, Peyton (Courtney Haines) Heidebrecht of Hillsboro, and Evann Heidebrecht of Marion; great grandchildren Brendon, Emery, Gunner and Kayda Heidebrecht, and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; 

Leland passed away on Saturday February 4, 2023, at Peabody Health and Rehab.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Orville Heidebrecht, and sister Sadie Price.&nbsp; 

His family will gather with friends on Monday February 6, 2023, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion.&nbsp; Leland’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2023, at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Jeremiah Lange.&nbsp;

Tracy Floyd Sivils, 55, died Friday, February 3, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; He was born April 17, 1967, in Hutchinson, to Kenneth “Kenny” and Ernestine Janette (Eisiminger) Sivils.

Tracy graduated from Nickerson High School in 1985.&nbsp; He received his EMS training from Hutchinson Community College, and graduated from the police academy in both Kansas and Nebraska. Tracy worked as a police officer in Kingman, KS and McCook, NE, before retiring from the Salina Police Department.&nbsp; After retirement, he drove a truck for Brull Trucking, Hutchinson, and helped on the family farm at Partridge.&nbsp; Tracy enjoyed the simple things in life such as woodworking, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.&nbsp; He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

On March 12, 1994, he married Karen Stohs, in Bremen, Kansas.&nbsp; They were blessed with two sons, Connor and Brock.&nbsp; Tracy was proud of his sons, always striving to be there to support them in their activities.&nbsp;

Jeanette Gammon Mull passed away at home on January 29, 2023. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She brought joy and happiness to others through her accomplishments as a painter, volunteer and civic servant, where she actively participated in the community, always with a focus on the common good.

Jeanette was born February 17, 1936 in Springfield, Missouri. She was the daughter of Dr. Claude Gammon and Lucille(Ross) Gammon, and was raised in Buffalo, Missouri, where she attended Buffalo High School and graduated as Salutatorian. Thereafter, Jeanette attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, earning a degree in Journalism which led to a job at AT&amp;T in Kansas City, Missouri, where she was the writer/editor/photographer for the employee newsletter.

While in Kansas City, she met her husband of 61 years, Jack Mull, and they married in 1961 at the Community Christian Church on the Country Club Plaza. During their time in Kansas City, Jeanette and Jack welcomed their first child, John, and then moved to Staten Island, New York where they resided for three years. After New York, they moved to Hutchinson, Kansas where they made a lifelong home raising John and their daughter, Lucy, whom they welcomed shortly after arriving in town.

Jeanette was an accomplished woman with an entrepreneurial spirit. Her accolades were many, including Co-Founder of the Dillon Lecture Series (1981), President of Mull Motors auto dealership (early 80s) and Public Relations Chairman of the Reno County Historical Society, to name a few. She also worked in retail at Terry Bloskey’s clothing store. She lived her life with purpose, and she continually educated and challenged herself through reading, taking business, history and art classes at the community college, including a class to learn the Russian language! She traveled extensively, and was a crossword puzzle and word game enthusiast.

Jeanette was musical. She sang in her church choir, was a member of the Sound of Ahs music ensemble and loved listening to the local classical music station. Her family has fond memories of her playing Christmas carols on the piano throughout the years. Jeanette was also an avid gardener. Her backyard garden was colorful and interesting with many unique flowers and plants, including her grandmother Ross’s ancient rose bush that she transplanted and nurtured from her beloved mother’s garden.

Jeanette was a tremendous artistic talent and her true passion was painting. This came later in life when her children were grown. She devoted herself to art classes and workshops, traveling domestically and in France and Italy to expand her artistic skills and experience. As a result, her artwork has been shown locally and regionally, and many of her beloved pieces are treasured by family, friends and various businesses.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Dr. John “Jack” Mull, Hutchinson; son, John G. William Julius “Bill” Norris, 86, died February 2, 2023, at his home. He was born October 8, 1936, in Colquitt Georgia, to James and Minnie (Giddins) Norris.

Bill joined the United States Navy when he was 17 years old and completed his training at the Hutchinson Air Naval Station, in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was stationed in Kodiak Island, Alaska. Following his service Bill returned to Hutchinson and worked for Cessna / Eaton for over 40 years, and later at Wal Mart. He loved fishing and a taking motorcycle trips to Florida and Arkansas. Bill enjoyed relaxing in front of the television, especially to watch a western.

On April 2, 1982, he married Carol Jean Weber, in Hutchinson. They shared 35 years of marriage before her passing on August 29, 2017.

Bill is survived by: son, Brad Norris, Hutchinson; daughter, Cindy Harder, Hutchinson; step daughter, Beth Sheppard, Hutchinson; step son, Scott Sheppard, Liberty, Missouri; sisters, Bettie Sue Stewart, Elaine Wimberly, Jimmie Ann Carrol, Eva Carol Ballard, all of Florida; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard A. “Dick” Yauk, 87, of Wichita, died January 28, 2023. He was born March 5, 1935, in OK, to Carl and Susan (Hopp) Yauk. He lived his young childhood in Colorado, where he discovered his attraction to gemology.

Dick was a Wichita barber for 60 years, spending most of them at his shop, “A Cut Above”, in Victor Place. His clientele fancied the mastery of his craft while taking in his witty banter, and revering over the wonderful stories he always told. Dick enjoyed photography, was an outdoorsman, and an avid bass fisherman, creating decades of memories with many at Paradise Lake. He was a music lover, who still jumped at an opportunity to boogie to the blues.

Dick is survived by: his life partner, Cheryl Cordry; daughters, Lisa (Yauk) Brosnon and Kim Yauk; grandchildren, Solomon Macy, Hannah (Macy) Maestas, and Jesse Kunkel; great grandchildren, Haley Maestas and Ethan Maestas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gene and Ron; sister, Billy; and grandchildren, Brett and Laura Kunkel.

 </figure>Richard A. “Dick” Yauk, 87, of Wichita, died January 28, 2023. He was born March 5, 1935, in OK, to Carl and Susan (Hopp) Yauk. He lived his young childhood in Colorado, where he discovered his attraction to gemology.Dick was a Wichita barber for 60 years, spending most of them at his shop, “A Cut Above”, in Victor Place. His clientele fancied the mastery of his craft while taking in his witty banter, and revering over the wonderful stories he always told. Dick enjoyed photography, was an outdoorsman, and an avid bass fisherman, creating decades of memories with many at Paradise Lake. He was a music lover, who still jumped at an opportunity to boogie to the blues.Dick is survived by: his life partner, Cheryl Cordry; daughters, Lisa (Yauk) Brosnon and Kim Yauk; grandchildren, Solomon Macy, Hannah (Macy) Maestas, and Jesse Kunkel; great grandchildren, Haley Maestas and Ethan Maestas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gene and Ron; sister, Billy; and grandchildren, Brett and Laura Kunkel.Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Linwood Recreation Center, 1901 S. Kansas St, Wichita, KS 67211.Memorials are suggested to the Richard Yauk Memorial Fund for a barber scholarship, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
