Doris J. Bazil, 89, passed away on April 16, 2023, at Newton Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on June 17, 1933, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard Sr. and Lillian (Patrick) Rodgers.
On July 5, 1953, Doris was united in marriage to David W. Bazil Sr. in the Church of the Brethren in Newton. The couple was married for 61 years prior to David’s passing in 2015.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Doris is survived by her granddaughter, Ashleigh (Joe) Parker; great-grandchildren Holden, Emmett, and Sawyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Bazil Sr.; parents, Leonard Sr. and Lillian Rodgers; and son, David Bazil Jr..
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
