Linda Lee Humphrey, 81, of Abbyville, passed away peacefully at her&nbsp;home on September 21, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1943, in&nbsp;Hutchinson, to the late Howard R. and Vara L. (Gagnebin) Reed.

Linda worked for years as a cleaner for many homes and offices in the&nbsp;Abbyville area. She also assisted her husband, Frank, with his&nbsp;business, Humphrey General Contracting. Linda found immense joy in gardening and cooking, and her pies on special occasions were a&nbsp;favorite among friends and family. However, the true center of her world was always her family: her children, grandchildren, and&nbsp;great-grandchildren.

On January 2, 1970, Linda married the love of her life, Frank L.&nbsp;Humphrey, in Port Allen, Louisiana. He survives her. She is also&nbsp;survived by their five children: Melanie Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma;&nbsp;Deborah (Sam) Ratliff of Claremore, Oklahoma; Angela Colley Douglas of&nbsp;Hutchinson; Cris (Julie) Humphrey of Wichita; and Chad (Lyndie)&nbsp;Humphrey of Pensacola, Florida. Her legacy continues through her 19&nbsp;grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Glenna Arneson, Shirley Schoonover, Patsy Moylan, Tom Reed, Joe Reed, and Deenie Hammer.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 27,&nbsp;2025, at Abbyville Cemetery.

Friends are invited to sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will be&nbsp;present to receive friends on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the&nbsp;mortuary.

Natasha Marie Huelskamp, 29, of Delray Beach, FL, lost her hard fought 10-year battle with severe mental illness on September 18, 2025. Born October 1, 1995, in Fond-des-Blanc, Haiti, Natasha was raised by her grandmother Marie Merzeta, adopted by Tim and Angela Huelskamp of Fowler, KS, and baptized on December 5, 1997.

Natasha is survived by her parents of Hutchinson, KS; her siblings: Rebecca, Athan, and Alex; her maternal grandmother, Josephine Shawen; many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; and her godparents, Jim &amp; Diane Woodruff. Natasha was preceded in death by her grandparents; Warren Shawen and Leroy &amp; Stellie Huelskamp.

Natasha loved small town life growing up in Fowler. Times at the Farm were special, especially helping Grandma around the house, riding the tractor with Dad, and for a real treat, the combine with Grandpa. But the absolute best times for Natasha were gathering at the Farm for the holidays with cousins, aunts, and uncles. Natasha, a gifted artist, loved her time at Fowler’s Vera Water Art Center where Martha Walker recognized and nurtured her talent in drawing and painting. That love of art continued throughout her life. Natasha also had an adventurous spirit convincing her mom and sister to go parasailing and had great plans to travel, especially to her birthplace in Haiti. In recent years, she found peace on the beaches of Florida where she enjoyed taking photos.

Her mental health journey led Natasha to become an advocate for mental health and suicide awareness. She proudly had the semicolon tattooed on her wrist not only to bring suicide awareness, but as a personal testimony and reminder of her infinite value. Natasha loved participating in the annual NAMI Walk. And amid her own trials, Natasha was known for her kind smile and encouraging words, especially for others fighting similar battles. To those struggling with their mental health, Natasha would tell you not to wait another day to get help, because you are worthy!

Natasha loved the Lord with all her heart, dearly loved each and every family member and friend, and had great goals and plans for her life. She regularly attended Mass at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach, FL, aspired to weekly Confession, and religiously wore the brown scapular. The last thing she wanted to do was leave this world and all of us with so much life left to live.&nbsp;

A Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2531 Independence Rd., Hutchinson. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.

Barbara J. Keefer, 89, died September 7, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born July 11, 1936, in McPherson, to Delbert F. and Luella (Buehler) Wilkinson. &nbsp;

Barbara graduated from McPherson High School in 1954, and received her degree in nursing from Fort Scott Community College. She worked as&nbsp; a registered nurse in Hutchinson before staying home full-time after the birth of her son, David. &nbsp;Barbara enjoyed working in her immaculate yard and tending to her flowers. &nbsp;As a natural born caregiver, she was always ready and willing to help out her family and friends. &nbsp;Above all, family meant everything to Barbara. &nbsp;She was a member of P.E.O. and First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson.

On April 4, 1959, she married Kenneth A. Keefer, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He died January 19, 2019, after they shared almost 60 years of marriage.

Barbara is survived by: &nbsp;son, David Keefer (Susan) of Shawnee; grandchildren, Thialan Logan, Grace Keefer, Emma Keefer, Cameron Keefer, and Anna Keefer; great-grandchildren, Josie Raya, T.J. Logan, and Nia Logan; sister-in-law, Connie Bula (Mick); and nieces and nephews, B.J. Jennings, Ann Jennings, Bob Jennings, Brad Swisher, and Drew Swisher.

Richard graduated from Buhler High School in 1964. &nbsp;After graduating, he joined the United States Army, serving from 1964 to 1970, during the Vietnam War. &nbsp; Following his service, Richard worked for Mead Paper Company for over 20 years. &nbsp;

Richard is survived by: &nbsp;sister, Marsha Menard of Burrton; nephew, Derek Wiens of Wichita; great-niece, LaTosha Wiens of Arlington; and cousins, Michael Derusseau, Douglas Derusseau, and Kenneth Derusseau, all of Clyde, KS.

Edwin Guy Morford, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. Born on February 18, 1936, in Norton, Kansas, Edwin was a devoted family man who led a life defined by hard work and a love for the open water, where he found freedom and joy gliding across the water on his jet skis.

Edwin was deeply passionate about his family, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to caring for those he loved. His adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors were evident in many ways, especially through his time spent on the water.

He retired from Bett's Rainbow Baking Company in 1998.

&nbsp;He is survived by his children: Guy Morford (Karina), Penny Lindell (Victor), Lee Morford (Brandi), Amy Miller (Jest), Julie Burgess (Jake) &nbsp;

&nbsp;Edwin’s legacy continues through his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, who were a great source of pride and joy in his life.

&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Tottie Mae Morford and Melvin Morford; his brothers, Francis and Lloyd Morford; his sister, Melva Wilcox; his ex-wife, Beverly Morford; and his daughter, Faye Lyn Morford.

Glen Russell Wagler, 83, died September 20, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born November 19, 1941, in Hutchinson, to John Rufus and Esther Evangeline (Krenzin) Wagler.

Glen graduated from Nickerson High School in 1960. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. &nbsp;Glen worked as a truck driver for Walmart and Dillons, and drove a school bus for USD 309 Nickerson-South Hutchinson. &nbsp;

Glen enjoyed traveling and flying, and held a private pilot’s license for a period of time. In his 60’s, he was a driver in Iraq, where he transported military personnel to their respective bases. Glen appreciated this opportunity to help out those serving during the war.

Glen is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; brothers, Charles Wagler (Lurlene) and Raymond Wagler (Sue); and nephews, Linc Wagler and Jim Wagler.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Cemetery, 3017 N. Robert Eugene “Bob” Enders, 101, died July 26, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born March 8, 1924, in Lyons, to W. Elmer and Jessie Amelia (Young) Enders.

Robert graduated from Lyons High School in 1942. &nbsp;After graduation, he enrolled in Kansas State University, but was there for only one semester, as he was drafted into the United States Navy. &nbsp;Robert served in the United States Navy, in the Pacific on the U.S. S. Bountiful, from 1943-1946. &nbsp; During his lifetime, Robert enjoyed a variety of occupations. &nbsp;He worked as a farmer, butcher, helped set up deli’s for Piggly Wiggly, and was an auctioneer for Navajo Rug Auctions. &nbsp;In 2014, at the age of 90, he moved back to Kansas from New Mexico, where Robert had lived for 54 years.&nbsp;

One of his proudest high school moments was during his senior year. &nbsp;Robert was a member of a brass quintet that received a “I” rating at the state music festival. &nbsp;In addition, prior to his passing, he was the oldest living alumni of Lyons High School. &nbsp;Robert was also a charter member of the Rice County Valley Bluebirds 4-H Club. &nbsp;He enjoyed painting, woodcarving, and staying active. &nbsp;Robert was a member of McPherson Gem and Mineral Club, the Hutchinson Antique and Collectors Club, American Legion Lysle Post #68, and Eastwood Church of Christ.&nbsp;

On July 17, 1944, he married Dorothy Janssen, in Seattle, WA. &nbsp;Their marriage ended in divorce. &nbsp;Robert later married Mae, Winnie and Leslie. &nbsp;They all preceded him in death. &nbsp;

Robert is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Cynthia Landon (Guy Colle) of Hutchinson and Carol Crites (Scott) of Calera, OK; sister, Phyllis Hughes of Lyons; brother, Paul Enders (Arlene) of Duluth, GA; grandson, Justin Enders (Laura) of Overland Park; three great-grandchildren, Walter, Eleanor, and Louis Enders; two nieces; several cousins; and numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; son, Richard “Rick” Enders; son-in-law, Perry Landon, brother-in-law, Charles Hughes; and Dorothy, mother of Cynthia, Rick, and Carol.&nbsp;

Celebration of Life will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, in Fellowship Hall, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Gary Wayne Carson, 77, died September 17, 2025, at his home, Hutchinson. He was born October 3, 1947, in Haviland, to Floyd Livingston and Mary Izella (Spurgeon) Carson.

Gary graduated from Mullinville High School in 1965 and attended Dodge City Community College on a basketball scholarship. He earned his masters and Ed. S (Education Specialist) from Kansas State University. Gary was a longtime teacher and boys basketball coach for Haven, Medicine Lodge, Southwestern Heights, Buhler, and Hesston. He later transitioned into athletic director and assistant principal roles; this opportunity started his career in school administration. 

Gary retired after over 45 years in education as the assistant superintendent for Hutchinson USD 308. He was past president of KIAAA (Kansas Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association) and KARSP (Kansas Association of Retired School Personnel) as well as involved in many other organizations. Gary enjoyed being the Master of Ceremonies throughout the years for multiple benefits and fundraisers. He loved to work outside, keeping up with the yardwork and gardening, as well as woodworking and fixing whatever needed repair. While commuting for schooling, Gary picked up an interest in auctions and auctioneering, practicing his auctioneering skills during the drive. He was a life-long learner and always was excited to pick up new hobbies. Gary was a great communicator, and not a great banjo picker.

In 1965, he married Carol Sue Wilkins in Mullinville. Together they had two children, Casey and Corey. She survives. Gary later married Mary Ellen “Molly” Higgins on November 20, 2009, in Texas.&nbsp;

Gary is survived by: his wife of over 15 years, Molly Carson of Hutchinson; son, Casey (Hollee) Carson of Wayne, OK; Casey’s children, Jordan, Ty and Cross; son, Corey (Tammy) Carson of Longmont, CO; Corey’s children, Ellie and Jace; stepdaughter, Kelly Robinson of Tulsa, OK and her children, Le’Aries and Lorenna; stepson, Gage Robinson (Paula Infante) of Chicago, IL, siblings, Susan (Roger) Staats of Manhattan, John (Cindy) Carson of Greensburg; Jack (Lona) Carson of Mullinville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Carson of Mullinville; many nieces and nephews; numerous friends; and a host of students.

David Eugene Brubaker, 78, died September 17, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born July 15, 1947, in Hutchinson, to Floyd John and Elizabeth (Skellenger) Brubaker.

David owned his own auto mechanic shop, “Dave’s Service and Garage”. He loved working on cars and helping his customers. In addition, David enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and racing cars, especially radio-controlled cars. He was also a member of the Kansas Army National Guard.

On December 10th, 1968, he married Goldie Ann Gates, in Anthony, KS. They shared over 49 years of marriage, prior to her death on November 27th, 2018.

David is survived by: his children, Ronnie (Sara) Brubaker and Sherry Brubaker Treece both of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, David, Haley, and Charity Treece; and sister, Geneane Winchell of Kiowa, KS.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; brothers, Kenneth and Tunnie Lee; and sister, Judy Silcott.

Dale L. Conkling, 80, of South Hutchinson, died September 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones and favorite music at Wesley Medical Center. He was born October 1, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Edward and Margaret (Belt) Conkling.&nbsp;

Dale graduated from Partridge Rural High School in 1962 and received his associates degree from Hutchinson Community College. He worked maintenance at Morton Salt for many years before retiring. Dale served as president of Kansas Oldtime Fiddlers, Pickers, and Singers, the Salt Creek chapter. He was a staple at the Ye Old Mill during the Kansas State Fair for many years and his artistic creations provided great entertainment for riders. For the last several years, Dale could still be found at the fair most days. Visitors could often count on seeing him as his usual gate taking tickets.

Dale had an immense love for music; he passionately played the guitar and sang for all to hear. Dale could often be found at the Reno County Farmers’ Market where he performed for many years. Some of his favorite songs to play and listen to were “Hound Dog” and “Blue Suede Shoe.”&nbsp;

Dale loved people. He could often be found engaging in conversations no matter where he went. Dales infectious smile, fun personality and genuine kindness made it easy for him to make so many connections with people.

On April 23, 2015, he married Brenda Adams at Bethany Nazarene Church. They shared 10 beautiful years of marriage before his death.&nbsp;

Dale is survived by: beloved wife, Brenda Adams-Conkling of South Hutchinson; children, Danny Conkling of McPherson, Jackie (Jeremy) Anschutz of Herington, and Ashley (Ernest) Penner of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Dustin Conkling of Hutchinson; Lucas and Matthew Anschutz of Manhattan, Serenity Penner of Hutchinson, and Kayden Anschutz of Herington; great-grandchild, Dravyn Conkling of Hutchinson; brother, Bob and Linda Conkling of Partridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Brenda Kretzer-Kowitz, 69, of Hutchinson died September 13, 2025, at Hospice House. She was born on December 2, 1955, in Hutchinson, to Bobbie L. Kretzer and Barbara Lee (Bell) Carithers.

Brenda graduated from Nickerson High School in 1972; and attended Hutchinson Community College. In 1998, she graduated from Friends University with a Bachelor of Business Management. Brenda was the assistant manager of Credit Thrift, Hutchinson, before working at Barb’s Bail Bonds as a bail bond agent for over 30 years. She later became the Reno County Treasurer, working for the county for over 12 years, prior to her retirement in 2023. Brenda was a powered parachute sport pilot as well as a certified scuba diver. She enjoyed travelling, camping and waterskiing at Beaver Lake, AR, and Wilson Lake. Brenda was the world’s best storyteller; she was able to perfectly paint the picture and describe events in great detail. She loved spending time with her dogs and parrot. Brenda was a member of Inspire Church, Hutchinson.

Brenda Kretzer-Kowitz |1955-2025|

Mary Eileen Bauer (Mooney) passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on September 13, 2025, in Dallas, Texas with her family by her side. She was born December 11, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas, the youngest of four children, to Michael J. and Margaret Mooney (Hamilton).

Mary spent her early childhood on a farm in Stafford County. What she remembered most about her time on the farm was her favorite dog, Joe, a Newfoundland, who she adored. Around the age of five, the family home was moved to Hutchinson when her father took over the family business, Hamilton Roofing. Shortly thereafter, Mary contracted polio, and after enduring very difficult treatments, she was fortunate to have survived without lasting harm.&nbsp;

Her family was a long-time member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and later joined Church of the Holy Cross in Hutchinson, Kansas. Mary attended high school at St. Teresa High School where she and her older sister, Margaret Ann were cheerleaders. After graduating in 1959, she briefly attended Webster College in St. Louis, Missouri, before moving to Kansas City with friends.&nbsp;

In August 1963, she married her beloved husband, Philip M. Bauer, and moved with him to Boston where they later welcomed their first child, Courtney (1966). In 1967, they settled in Dallas, Texas, where Phil began working for Collins Radio. During this time, they met John and Jackie Earls who became lifelong friends. When Phil’s career offered him an opportunity to live and work in Norway for an extended period in the mid-1970s, Mary adjusted to life overseas and enjoyed exploring and shopping throughout Norway and Sweden. They returned to Richardson, Texas, in 1975. In those years, Mary enjoyed playing tennis with Phil and friends, shopping, and raising Courtney.&nbsp;

Later, their family expanded, adding Ryan (1976) and Megan (1978), and they moved to Plano, Texas, where they would make their home for the next 48 years. Over the years the family thrived, thanks in large part to Mary's indomitable spirit, boundless love and unyielding devotion. She was always a fierce protector of her children and a source of strength for her family.&nbsp;

Mary always had a very close bond with her two older sisters that often involved late nights of endless laughing, mornings filled with coffee, cinnamon rolls and Sara Lee coffee cakes, and days on end of marathon shopping trips. Their bond was unparalleled. Mary was known for her quick wit and masterful timing, but when the three sisters were together, she was in her element – their humor and joy radiated to everyone around them. Mary’s laugh had a unique, unmistakable quality - bright, infectious and full of life, it could fill any room and lift the spirits of everyone nearby.

Mary had a gift for enjoying life and delighted in sharing the little pleasures she had discovered with her children and grandchildren. She did not hesitate to indulge them or herself whenever the opportunity arose. If it was a new Christmas decoration or if it was adding a splash of whole cream to a bowl of cereal, she seized the opportunity. She lived life to the fullest without regrets.

Mary often combined her enjoyment of shopping with her deep love of the Christmas holiday season. Those who knew her, undoubtedly knew that the magic of Christmas and the joy of the season was one of her great passions. She loved nothing more than decorating the house for Christmas, baking endless holiday treats and painstakingly fulfilling her family’s wish lists. Mary carried with her the magic of Christmas morning and made sure to give her children and grandchildren that same sense of childlike delight. &nbsp;She worked tirelessly to make every Christmas the best in every way.

Mary was a devoted wife to Phil for 62 years, a loving mother and a cherished grandmother. She prioritized family above all else. Her generosity and kindness knew no limits. As the years went on, she experienced a difficult physical decline that she endured with courage, grace and extraordinary resilience. Despite much physical difficulty, she rarely complained. In her final days, when the intensive care doctor came to deliver the results of a critical test, Mary looked at him and said softly, “You should go home – you must be tired."&nbsp; He held her hand and was visibly touched by her kindness. Mary was selfless to the very end, always more concerned with the comfort and needs of those around her than with her own.&nbsp;

She leaves behind her husband, Philip; her daughters, Courtney (Matthew) and Megan (Suzanne); her son, Ryan (Kate); grandchildren, Zoey, Siobhan, Graeme, Eiley, August and Mae; her sister, Margaret Ann Hohl; nieces, nephews and other relatives in Texas and Kansas, brother-in-law, Michael Bauer (Jeanette) and lifelong friends, John and Jacqueline Earls.

Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, Helen Louise Mullen, and brother, Michael Mooney.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson. &nbsp;Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. &nbsp;The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

William Lee “Bill” Baker, 79, of Hutchinson, died September 13, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 27, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Edward W. and Vera M. (Foster) Baker.

Bill graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1963, received two bachelor degrees in History and Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas in 1967, and a bachelor’s degree in Education from Wichita State University in 1975. He served in the United States Peace Corps in the Amazon Jungle of Brazil for over two years before embarking upon his career as a teacher – a career that spanned 33 years – at Sherman Junior High, Central Junior High, and the final 23 years as a 5th grade teacher at Wiley Elementary School. Two of those years were spent as an exchange teacher in Sydney, Australia. Bill’s passion for teaching and helping children continued after his retirement with teaching stints at Central Christian Schools and short-term mission trips to Brazil with fellow members of his church, Grace Bible Church. He also enjoyed listening to jazz and folk music and was a history buff; however, what Bill enjoyed most were his children, grandchildren, and friends all across the world.

Bill is survived by: his daughters, Katie Givens (Justin) of Americus, Kristin Peterman Childs (Chad Childs) of Goddard, Megan Baker of Overland Park, Denice Naquin (Andy Shreve) of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Isla Givens, Sam Peterman, Elliott Peterman, Gracie Childs, Jada Childs, Trey Childs, Lillian Garrison; bonus children, Jerri Carroll, Vicki Keck, Patti Meier, Scott Compton; sister, Carol Hammond of Longmont, CO; brothers and sisters in-law; cousins; nieces and nephews; and many other family members of the heart.

Danny Lee Pifer, 73, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. Danny was born on June 27, 1952, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Frank L. and Betty J. (Benbrook) Pifer.

Danny graduated from Buhler High School in 1972. After graduating he was one of the last Reno County residents to be drafted into the Unites States Army in 1972. Danny was honorably discharged in April 1974. He was a dedicated employee of Dillons Bakery for 32 years – with the majority of those years working as a receiving clerk. After retiring from the bakery, he became Grandpa Daycare for his grandchildren. On May 27, 1972, Danny married Debra Wisby in Hutchinson. They were married for 53 years. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union. Danny loved spending time with his family, nieces and nephews, especially his children and grandchildren. As a family they enjoyed many family vacations, but he had a love for the Colorado mountains and trips to the casino with his family. Danny also enjoyed his yearly trips to Las Vegas and monthly luncheons with his retiree friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Pifer.

Danny is survived by his wife, Debra; a son, Jason L. Pifer; daughter, Heather L. (Dylan Thomas) Pifer; sister, Sherry (Dawayne) Storm; brothers, Bobby Pifer, Jerry Pifer, Terry Pifer and Kenny Pifer; and grandchildren, Davin L. Pifer, Preston J. Rothe and Emmett J. Rothe.

David J. Schroeder, a devoted husband, father, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully September 12th, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Dave was born March 13th 1957, to Ray and Lois Schroeder, Dave lived a life defined by curiosity, enthusiasm, and faith. He dedicated his career to teaching, inspiring countless students with not only knowledge but also encouragement and joy. His passion for learning extended far beyond the classroom, as he pursued many eclectic hobbies that reflected his wide-ranging interests and zest for life.

Dave found great joy in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or simply appreciating the beauty of creation. Above all, he cherished time with his family. His unwavering faith guided him throughout his life, offering strength, hope, and peace to both him and those around him.

He will be remembered for his warm spirit, sometimes obnoxious sense of humor, his enthusiasm for teaching and the love for life he shared so freely.

Dave is survived by his wife Marlene Schroeder, sons Jeff (Samantha) Schroeder and Chris (Courtney) Schroeder, mother Lois Schroeder, sisters Carol (Ranny) Goering, Kay (Greg) Heikes as well as his five grandchildren Avery, Camden, Sadie, Weston and Paige. He was preceded in death by his father Ray Schroeder.

A viewing will be held Sunday September 14th, 2pm to 4pm at Buhler Mennonite Church, 220 W. Avenue B. Buhler, KS 67522.

His funeral service will be also be held at Buhler Mennonite Church, on Monday September 15th at 10:30 am with graveside to follow at Buhler Municipal Cemetery.

David Leroy Beachy, 84, passed away on September 10, 2025, at Kenwood View Health and Rehabilitation Center, Salina, KS. David was born on May 31, 1941, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of David M. and Susie (Borntrager) Beachy.

David graduated from Hesston High School and attended Hesston College where he also played basketball. He received his bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Denver. He was a social worker in Denver, CO and was the owner of Moon Mist Hotel in Meade, KS. He was the director of Children’s Choir and did missionary work in the Philippines for over 25 years. David was a Broncos and Chiefs fan. On September 3, 1999, David married Magdalina “Maggie” Hora in the Philippines.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon, Alvin and Calvin Beachy; and a sister Nina Lee.

David is survived by his wife, Maggie Beachy; seven children, Jamie (Wael) Garas, Kristy (Dan) Beachy-Quick, Rebecca Beachy, Reden (Alexus) Beachy, Edison (Jornalyn) Beachy, David Joseph Beachy and Susie Beachy; a sister, Mary Ellen Diener; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral Services&nbsp; will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Terry Danford officiating. David was born on May 31, 1941, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of David M. and Susie (Borntrager) Beachy.David graduated from Hesston High School and attended Hesston College where he also played basketball. He received his bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Denver. He was a social worker in Denver, CO and was the owner of Moon Mist Hotel in Meade, KS. He was the director of Children’s Choir and did missionary work in the Philippines for over 25 years. David was a Broncos and Chiefs fan. On September 3, 1999, David married Magdalina “Maggie” Hora in the Philippines.He is proceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon, Alvin and Calvin Beachy; and a sister Nina Lee.David is survived by his wife, Maggie Beachy; seven children, Jamie (Wael) Garas, Kristy (Dan) Beachy-Quick, Rebecca Beachy, Reden (Alexus) Beachy, Edison (Jornalyn) Beachy, David Joseph Beachy and Susie Beachy; a sister, Mary Ellen Diener; and seven grandchildren.Funeral Services&nbsp; will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Terry Danford officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel. The burial will take place in the Yoder Cemetery, Yoder, KS. Memorials may be given to the Faith Baptist Church-Salina and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.&nbsp;

David Leroy Beachy |1941-2025|

David J. Clark, 84, of South Hutchinson, died September 10, 2025, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. He was born December 26, 1940, in Oakley, KS, the son of Cecil and Thelma (Fisher) Clark.

Dave attended Plainville High School. He worked at Namee Wholesale, Consolidated Mfg., and&nbsp;RCAT. Dave retired as a Durham School bus driver and attendant. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Dave served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1962-1968.

Dave was an avid sports follower, especially the KU Jayhawks, KC Chiefs, and Hutchinson High School. He was always interested to hear how the grandkids were doing.

Dave is survived by: wife, Doris Schadler-Clark; son, David (Cindy) Clark of Hutchinson; daughters, Julie (Terry) Bland of Kaw City, OK, Tina (Stanley) Martin of Fredonia, FL; 8 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; bonus children, Nancy Thomas of Kechi, Melanie Hefton of Hutchinson, Rhonda (Arley) Philbrick of Hutchinson, Melvin (Donna) Schadler of Sterling; 7 bonus grandchildren; 20 bonus great-grandchildren; and 3 bonus great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Delmar and Clinton.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment was held.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard.

David J. "Dave" Clark |1940-2025|

Darla D. Neal, 83, died September 8, 2025, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born January 22, 1942, in Newton, to Luther D. and Gladys M. (Hatch) McJilton. &nbsp;

Darla graduated from Newton High School in 1959, and the University of Kansas in 1963, with her Bachelor of Science degree. &nbsp;Darla was an outstanding debater in high school and college (this won’t surprise anyone who knew her). &nbsp; As a senior in high school, she and her partner took runner-up at state after beating her future husband, John, in the semi-finals. &nbsp;Darla was offered a scholarship to debate at KU. &nbsp; She was named KU’s Outstanding Debater her freshman year. &nbsp;While at KU, Darla was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta where she met many of her lifelong friends. &nbsp;She also participated in Rock Chalk Revue. &nbsp;&nbsp;

It was also at KU where she met the first love of her life, John Neal. &nbsp; Darla &amp; John knew each other from debate &amp; forensics competitions in high school. &nbsp;Her sophomore year she agreed to go on a “blind date” only after learning that it was with John. &nbsp;Darla and John got engaged on Christmas Eve their senior year in college and were married on July 20, 1963 in Newton. &nbsp;Shortly after their wedding, Darla &amp; John moved to Madrid, Spain for a year while John was studying abroad on the Fulbright Scholarship. &nbsp;While in Madrid, Darla taught English at the American School and Berlitz Language School. Upon arriving back in the United States, Darla taught middle school and high school English &amp; Social Studies before they had children.

In 1969, Darla and John moved to Hutchinson, KS, where she lived the rest of her life. Darla was a major advocate for Hutchinson, Hutchinson schools, and numerous community projects and organizations. &nbsp; She served as President of Reno County’s American Cancer Society, President of Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society, President of Hutchinson Community Foundation, President of the Hutchinson PTA, President of Wesley Towers Board of Directors, and served 12 years on the USD 308 Board of Education with two stints as president. &nbsp;She participated in Leadership Kansas, Leadership Hutchinson, &amp; received the Altrusa Community Leadership Award in 2007. &nbsp;She was a member of P. E. O. Chapter BY and Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. She also started three successful businesses in three totally non-related industries!

Darla was a teacher, entrepreneur, consultant, artist, and business owner, but her proudest title was “mom”. &nbsp;After Darla &amp; John’s first son, Michael, was born in 1968, every day her number one focus was her children. &nbsp;Never was this more apparent than after Michael was diagnosed with leukemia and during his subsequent treatment. &nbsp;Although Michael passed away in 1972, Darla was impacted by the experience after seeing the “good” in so many people who wanted to help and support Michael &amp; their family. &nbsp; Darla carried that emphasis and focus with her the rest of her life. &nbsp;The only title that was in contention with “mom” for her favorite was “Nana”. &nbsp;She was an incredible force, constant champion, and #1 fan for each and every one of her children &amp; grandchildren. &nbsp;It was never about her and always about making the world better for others. Darla’s goal was to make an impact, be an advocate, and leave her mark on Hutchinson, Reno County, and the lives of her family &amp; everyone she met. &nbsp;

John died September 4, 2005, after they shared 42 years of marriage. &nbsp;On a riverboat trip to Ukraine in 2007, Darla was fortunate enough to meet the second love of her life, Stanley Wingate. &nbsp; Darla &amp; Stan were married on April 19, 2008, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. &nbsp;Both had endured the heartbreak of losing their first spouses to cancer and felt incredibly blessed to find a second love who they could share their lives with. &nbsp; Even after being separated when Darla was moved into Memory Care at Wesley Towers, Stan would walk over to her room everyday so they could spend the day together. &nbsp;Darla &amp; Stan enjoyed 17 years of marriage. &nbsp;

Darla is survived by: husband, Stanley Wingate of Hutchinson; sons, David Neal (Karin) of Hutchinson and Matthew Neal of Rose Hill; grandchildren, Jack Neal, Katherine Neal, Benjamin Neal, and Andrew G. Neal, Jaden Neal, Andrew L. Neal, and Elizabeth Neal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband, John Neal; son Michael John Neal; and sisters, Kay Lachenmayr, Loretta Bowersock, Shirley Gates, and Barbara Fabic.

Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson. Loretta Jean Fosnight, 68, went to meet her Savior on September 5, 2025, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born July 11, 1957, in Hutchinson to Calvin C. and Verna Lee (Jones) Lantz.

Loretta was a 1975 graduate of Hutchinson High School. During high school she met Richard Fosnight, the love of her life. They were married on February 7, 1976, Hutchinson. &nbsp;In December of 1977 they started their family and were blessed with 4 kids over the next 15 years. &nbsp;Eventually their kids started marrying and having their own families. She cherished and loved her husband, kids, grandkids, and one great grandson so very much.&nbsp;

Most of all, Loretta loved the Lord. She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson. Throughout her life she was involved in Busy Bee Bible Club, children’s church, VBS, small groups, and reading her Bible and other spiritual books, especially archelogy. She also really enjoyed gardening, creating miniature doll houses and furnishings, and reading. Loretta had so much fun researching and digging into her family’s genealogy; tracing it back for many, many generations.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Calvin and Verna Lantz and Aunt Virginia Jones.

Loretta Jean Fosnight |1957-2025|

Diana Jean Strawn, 81, of Hutchinson, KS, died Monday, September 8, 2025 at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS. She was born August 10, 1944, in Hutchinson, KS, to Doyal McVey and Evelyn M. Yutzy (Whitecotton.)

On November 24, 1961, she married Donald Wayne Strawn, in Hutchinson, KS.

Diana graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1962. Immediately starting her family at the young age of 18. She brought 4 beautiful children into this world, Wayne Alan Strawn, Michael Bryant Strawn, Cristina Angela Dosch, and Mark Andrew Strawn. From those children, she was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. For the first 14 years of her marriage, she was a stay-at-home house wife, and amazing mother, then in 1975, she and Don ventured into the world of owning their own business, opening up, Don’s Car Care and Body Shop in Hutchinson, KS. Diana helped manage the overall business and did all the book work for the business. In 1998, her and Don divorced. After the divorce, Diana worked another job for a short time, and then retired.

Since Diana had started her family so soon after graduating high school, she decided to go back to school to further her education. On May 12, 2000, she proudly graduated from Hutchinson Community College with her Associates in Arts Degree.

Diana loved having family get togethers at her house and loved spoiling her grand kids, especially at Christmas time. During her retirement, she was blessed with the opportunity to babysit her first born, great-grandson, Easton, which brought so much joy into her world. She thrived on seeing her great grand kids, even to her last day on earth, she was blessed with a visit from little Ann Dee, Darby’s oldest daughter. We are convinced, that visit was what put Diana at peace to pass the very next morning at 8:20 a.m. She was such a great mother, grand-mother, and great-grandmother, so very loving!

Diana enjoyed all the family fun on the sand dunes in Waynoka, OK, in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. She also enjoyed traveling to Santa Fe, NM, and Colorado for the skiing adventures and Jeep rides in the mountains. Her favorite travel time was the visits to see Mike and Nancy and their 3 beautiful children. Every chance she got, she hopped on a plane to visit her family. Diana also stepped out of her box, totally surprising her family and ventured into the world of karate, starting lessons of self defense at the Hutchinson School of Karate and Self Defense. She trained tirelessly for years under Sam Price and in 1982, she achieved her brown belt. Such a proud moment for her and also her family. In addition, in her spare time, she enjoyed the peace of reading books.

Diana is survived by: her children, Michael B. (Nancy) Strawn of Roswell, GA, Cristina A. (Joseph) Dosch of Hutchinson, KS, and Mark A. Strawn (Kerrie) of Pretty Prairie, KS; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Strawn of Hutchinson, KS; &nbsp;siblings, Barbara K. (John) Hirst of Holyrood, KS, William D. McVey of Jacksonville, NC, Rhonda J. Yutzy of Hutchinson, KS, and Roger E. (Debbie) Yutzy of Hutchinson, KS; half-sister, Violet Mae McVey; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Doyal McVey and Evelyn M. Yutzy; son, Wayne A. Strawn; brothers, Gary L. McVey and Roy D. Yutzy; and half-siblings, Ethel E. McVey, Doyle A. McVey, and Larry D. McVey.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Ave, with Father Ned Blick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.

 </figure>Diana Jean Strawn, 81, of Hutchinson, KS, died Monday, September 8, 2025 at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS. She was born August 10, 1944, in Hutchinson, KS, to Doyal McVey and Evelyn M. Yutzy (Whitecotton.)On November 24, 1961, she married Donald Wayne Strawn, in Hutchinson, KS.Diana graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1962. Immediately starting her family at the young age of 18. She brought 4 beautiful children into this world, Wayne Alan Strawn, Michael Bryant Strawn, Cristina Angela Dosch, and Mark Andrew Strawn. From those children, she was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. For the first 14 years of her marriage, she was a stay-at-home house wife, and amazing mother, then in 1975, she and Don ventured into the world of owning their own business, opening up, Don’s Car Care and Body Shop in Hutchinson, KS. Diana helped manage the overall business and did all the book work for the business. In 1998, her and Don divorced. After the divorce, Diana worked another job for a short time, and then retired.Since Diana had started her family so soon after graduating high school, she decided to go back to school to further her education. On May 12, 2000, she proudly graduated from Hutchinson Community College with her Associates in Arts Degree.Diana loved having family get togethers at her house and loved spoiling her grand kids, especially at Christmas time. During her retirement, she was blessed with the opportunity to babysit her first born, great-grandson, Easton, which brought so much joy into her world. She thrived on seeing her great grand kids, even to her last day on earth, she was blessed with a visit from little Ann Dee, Darby’s oldest daughter. We are convinced, that visit was what put Diana at peace to pass the very next morning at 8:20 a.m. She was such a great mother, grand-mother, and great-grandmother, so very loving!Diana enjoyed all the family fun on the sand dunes in Waynoka, OK, in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. She also enjoyed traveling to Santa Fe, NM, and Colorado for the skiing adventures and Jeep rides in the mountains. Her favorite travel time was the visits to see Mike and Nancy and their 3 beautiful children. Every chance she got, she hopped on a plane to visit her family.
