Janice Faye Shellito, 88, of Sylvia, died July 12, 2026, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born January 7, 1938, in Keokee, Virginia, to William and Mary Magdalene (McCoy) Clark.
For most of her life, Janice worked in dietary services for several nursing homes. She retired in 1999. Janice dedicated her life to caring for people when they needed it most.
In her spare time, Janice spent most of her time in her sewing room sewing and quilting. Alongside sewing and quilting, Janice also thoroughly enjoyed gardening,
Janice is survived by: her children, Brian (JoLynn Hennessee) Godwin, Darrel Godwin, Jeff (Cherisse) Godwin, and Mary Yarbrough; siblings, Reada Pace, Ed Clark, Donna Overby, and Sharon Amell; grandchildren, Christopher (Janyce) Godwin, Michelle Godwin, AndeLynn Godwin, Chloe Godwin, Claudia Godwin, Calyha Godwin, and Angelic Sauve; great-grandchild, Payden Godwin; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Mary; husbands, Melvin, Gerald, and Eldon; son, Terry; and brothers, Orville, Earl, and Larry.
Cremation has taken place. Per Janices wishes, no services will take place and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
