Rebecca Dee “Becky” Hageman, 73, of Wichita, went to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 7, 2025, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. She was born January 27, 1952, in Dodge City, to Raymond and Betty (McLaughlin) Walden.

Becky graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970, Hutchinson Community College, and the University of Kansas. She taught medical records classes at Hutchinson Community College and Hesston College for many years, in addition to working in medical records at Halstead Hospital and Hutchinson Hospital. Known for her quirky sense of humor, Becky enjoyed working in her flower garden and raising house plants, researching ancestry and genealogy, and international travel – visiting many places in Europe. She also enjoyed singing in Sing Out Reno County when she lived in Hutchinson. Becky was also a dog lover and loved long walks with her many fur babies over the years. She was a board member of Bukovina Society of the Americas.

On November 27, 1981, Becky married John A. Hageman at Union Valley Bible Church, in Hutchinson. He survives.

Also surviving are: her sister; Rae Lynn Barton of Buhler; nieces, Tammy Hoskinson (Greg) of Hutchinson, Lanette Quint (Michael) of Creede, CO, Renee Becker (Eric) of Andover; nephew, Chris Barton of Olathe, half-siblings, Andy Wilpolt of Pleasant Hill, CA, Carrie Wilpolt of Pepperell, MA, Mark Wilpolt of Chico, CA, Matthew Wilpolt of Oakland, CA; her faithful German Shepherd mix companion, Max; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Jay Wilpolt.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Kent Pedersen officiating.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday until the day of the service at Elliott Mortuary.

Joan graduated from Raymond High School in 1950. She worked as a hostess throughout her life at many restaurants in Hutchinson, retiring from Applebee’s at the age of 71. Joan enjoyed tending to her flower beds. She loved to cook and bake; her family loved everything that she would make. Joan cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by: her children, Evelyn Decker, Lisa Considine, Tim Decker, Ted Decker and Toby Decker, all of Hutchinson, Tracy (Rod) Urish of Lawerence; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by: her parents; sons, Terry Decker and Tom Decker; daughter, Vicki Vogt; and brother, Wayne Werner.

Floyd Eugene “Gene” Betterton, 74, passed away October 6, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. &nbsp;He was born November 22, 1950, to Howard Wayne and Agnes Lola (Parris) Betterton in Nowata, OK.

Gene was married to Debra Kay Talbot for over 30 years before her passing on July 1, 2020.

Gene was an amazing man- the best father and papa! &nbsp;Loved by everyone, he made friends wherever he went. &nbsp;He was known for his orneriness, always joking around. &nbsp;Gene loved spending time with his family and many friends he made during his stay at the nursing home and enjoying a beer or two.

He worked as a forklift driver and later as a fry cook at KFC for over ten years before retiring. &nbsp;He would beat anyone brave enough to take him on in a game of pool and was known as the king of dominos and bingo at Diversicare in Hutchinson. &nbsp;

Gene is survived by his: daughters, Debra Betterton (Alicia “Fred” Rothstein), Amanda Betterton, Amy Cross (Gene Reid), Jeannette Crossno (Ralph, Jr.); son, Kenny McKay; grandchildren, Brody, Clayton, Brittany, Madison, Derek, Deven, Ralph III, Jimmy, Kordell, Casey, Eliana, Daniel, David and Brooklyn; great-grandson, Frankie Joe to arrive in February 2026; brothers, Pete and Gary Betterton; sisters, Peggy Oakerland and Bunny May; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965. Directly following graduation, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, serving for three years. Larry worked at Morton Salt as the shipping supervisor for over 40 years, before retiring in 2013. He enjoyed spending time on his property, hunting and fishing.&nbsp;

On December 24, 2008, he married Debra Ann Brandewiede, in Hutchinson.

Larry is survived by: wife of over 16 years, Debra Casey of Hutchinson; children, Sam (Natalie) Casey of Jefferson City, MO, Cody (Audrie) Casey of Salina, Jenna (Kyle) Poppelreiter, Nick Reuber, both of Hutchinson; and grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Levi, Abbie, James, Chandler and Khloe.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and brother, Michael Casey.

Alice Mae Neufeld, 91, died October 5, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born November 28, 1933, in rural Sylvia, to William Howard and Ruth May (Jones) Brown.

Alice graduated from Sylvia High School. &nbsp;She worked for various financial institutions, retiring as head teller from Bank of America, after 23 years of service. &nbsp;While her children were little, Alice enjoyed bowling, bringing home numerous trophies from various tournaments. &nbsp;In addition, she was an avid Kansas City Royals and Kansas University basketball fan. &nbsp;Despite life’s adversities, Alice kept her faith, and held her head high. &nbsp;She was a loyal and active member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church for over 40 years. &nbsp;

On August 27 1953, she married Eddie L. Neufeld, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He died December 18, 2018, after they shared 65 years of marriage. &nbsp;Alice and Eddie loved to travel, and spent many miles touring the United States in their motor home and camper.

Alice is survived by: &nbsp;daughter, Jo Matzes of Danville, MO; sons, Larry Neufeld (Kathy) of Augusta, Gary Neufeld (Chris) of Salina, and Jerry Neufeld (Debbie) of Kemp, TX; grandchildren, Craig Matzes, Brett Matzes, Trey Matzes, Drew Matzes, Clayton Neufeld, Brian Neufeld, Ryan Neufeld, and Emily Bakhaya; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Howard Dale Wells, 78-year-old Eucha resident, passed away at his home early Monday morning, October 6, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 28, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Harlow T. Wells and Lora (Myers) Wells. Howard graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965, then attended Junior College afterwards. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1967-68. Howard worked for Boeing Aircraft, Yoder Meats as a meat cutter, sold utility trailers, worked for Killion Electric where he was a warehouse foreman, and other jobs throughout his life. Howard grew up singing solos and duets in church and on the local radio station. He was a passionate hunter and a very good shot, loved hunting upland birds, turkeys and just being outdoors. Howard enjoyed tinkering with old cars, working in his yard and being with his dogs. He was a very good baseball/softball player, played some semi-professional baseball and played church softball until he was 67 years old.

Preceding him in death includes his parents, Harlow and Lora Wells, and a brother, Harlan T. Wells.

The family includes his wife, Saundra J. (Standrich) Wells; his daughters, Leslie J. Gilley and husband Jerry, Wendi M. Goble and husband Jon; stepdaughter Saundra Tilson; stepsons, David Tilson and wife Denise, Mike Tilson and wife Catherine; grandchildren, Brett Schuller, Blake Painter, Kyle Gilley, Josh Gilley; 12 bonus grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

Joel Robert Guffey, 19, passed from this life on October 3, 2025. He was born February 19, 2006, in Hutchinson, to Kevin and Cindy (Roberts) Guffey.

Joel graduated from KALJ Academy in 2024. He worked in the parts department at Agri Center since February, 2025, having previously worked at Chick-fil-A for 5 years. Joel loved Jesus, family, friends, “old school” country music, horseback riding, concerts and fishing. He grew up with a basketball in his hands and loved playing for the Sabres. Joel especially loved being an uncle to Kason and anticipated Briar’s arrival in the coming months. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church.

Joel is survived by: his parents, Kevin and Cindy Guffey of Hutchinson; sisters, Kaylee Yutzy (Corbin) of Hutchinson, Avery Guffey (Aaron Soellner) of McPherson, Landri Mills (Maddux) of Hutchinson; grandmothers, Kay Brewer of Hutchinson, Sharon Narramore of May, TX; nephew, Kason Yutzy; niece, Briar Mills; and many extended family members.

Janice P. Geist, 86 was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2025 at Wesley Towers. Jan was born September 22, 1939 in Cunningham, Kansas to Vernon and Mary Ratlief. She attended Halstead schools and graduated from Hutchinson High in 1957, and a month later married Stan Gruver. Their marriage produced two children, Don and Blythe. Jan and Stan divorced in 1975.&nbsp;

On March 27, 1991, she married the love of her life, Gary Geist. Jan and Gary had 34 wonderful years together camping, traveling, and enjoying their dogs and family, until he passed from cancer in 2024.&nbsp;

Jan worked at McDonalds, the three Hutchinson Ben Franklin stores, and retired from Wal-Mart after working for many years in the fabric department, a job that suited her well from sewing many clothes over the years. She was a long-time member of the Hutchinson First United Methodist Church.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margery Elaine Baker; granddaughter, Kristin Gruver; and her husbands.&nbsp;

She is survived by; son, Don (Cindy) Gruver of Newton; daughter, Blythe (Tim) Wilkinson of Hutchinson; stepdaughter, Deb (Charles) Castinado of Alabama; stepson, Rusty Geist of Colorado; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson, with Reverend Mik King presiding.&nbsp;

Carol L. Anderson, 76, died peacefully on October 1, 2025, with her loving husband holding her hand, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born December 19, 1948, in Kansas City, MO, to Bernard C. “Barney” and Betty Lu (Valot) Bryan.

Carol graduated in 1966 from Shawnee Mission High School, and attended Kansas State University. &nbsp;She retired as a legal secretary for Ken Peirce. &nbsp;Carol loved animals, especially horses, dogs, and cats and was a member of the Kansas Appaloosa Horse Club. &nbsp;She enjoyed traveling to visit family and trips to Branson, MO, with Marty. Carol was gifted with her own unique personal style when it came to clothes, accessories, and decorating her home. &nbsp;She loved her “bling”! &nbsp;Above all, Carol was a beautiful tender-hearted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who cherished all her family and friends. &nbsp;

On August 4, 2002, she married the love of her life, Marty Anderson, in Las Vegas, NV.

Carol is survived by: &nbsp;her husband of over 23 years, Marty Anderson of Hutchinson; children, Jeffrey A. Smith (Carla) of Wichita, Katie Kelley of Columbiana, AL, Jeffrey W. Anderson (Tami), and Doug Anderson (Renea), both of Hutchinson; brothers, Barry Bryan (Caitlyn) of Washington and Ted Bryan of Overland Park; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Bob D. Roberts, 92, passed away September 29, 2025, at his home. &nbsp;He was born to Charles Arthur and Flossie May (Douglass) Roberts on June 29, 1933, in Ford, Kansas.

Bob graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1951. On March 29, 1958 he married Phyllis Sneed. &nbsp;They were married nearly 55 years before her passing February 14, 2013. &nbsp;

Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in construction, farming, and was a real estate broker/developer.

He is survived by his: children, Russ (Brenda) Roberts and Deana (Rich) Riney of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Dustin (Ann) Roberts, Alisha (Jason) Elliott, Travis (Alexis) Rhodenbaugh, Kayla (Billy) Kinast, and Kody (Cierra) Groen; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Clare), Taylee, Michael, Jordyn, Kai, Natalie, Aria, Anjelica, Autumn, Jake, Selah, Toni, Axle, and Mack; brother-in-law, Phillip (Dianna) Sneed and many nieces and nephews.

Ann Bowman, age 82, passed away peacefully in Inman, KS, after a courageous journey with Parkinson’s disease, surrounded by her loved ones.

Ann's early years were spent on a family farm in rural Gove County. &nbsp;Alongside her three siblings, she attended a one-room schoolhouse and helped with daily farm life. &nbsp;These humble beginnings laid the foundation for the generous, resilient, and compassionate woman she would become.

She attended Quinter High School where she met future husband, Larry Bowman. &nbsp;The two began dating when she was a student at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS.

Ann and Larry married in 1965 and headed to Colorado where Ann worked with children as a social worker.

Two years later they moved to Alaska, embarking on a 23 year grand adventure! &nbsp;

Ann and Larry raised four children in Sitka. &nbsp;Ann was active in the United Methodist Church as a Sunday school teacher and pianist, led girl scouts and could often be found making taco boats in the Little League concession stand. &nbsp;She continued her work with children as a preschool teacher. &nbsp;Being so far from family, Ann and Larry developed deep relationships with friends who became like family.

Despite the miles, Ann maintained a strong and loving bond with her Kansas siblings.

Returning to Kansas in 1990, Ann and Larry settled in Hutchinson, where Ann pursued her dream of higher education. &nbsp;She earned a second bachelor’s degree from Bethel College, followed by a Master’s in Social Work from Washburn University – accomplishments that reflected her deep compassion and commitment to others. &nbsp;She dedicated her career to advocating for the vulnerable, especially elders and children, through her work with SRS, hospice and the CASA program.

She served as an active member of Community Church of the Brethren in Hutchinson.

Family was Ann’s greatest joy. &nbsp;She cherished her grandchildren – spending time together and encouraging them in their activities and expression. &nbsp;She loved music, chocolate, sunflowers and the beauty found in life’s little things. &nbsp;In retirement, she and Larry traveled together. &nbsp;They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage – a testament to their enduring love.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents. &nbsp;She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry, and their four children, Heidi Bowman, Bret Bowman (Jerri), Jill Bowman (Micah Alton), Kirk Bowman (Brooke). &nbsp;Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren -- Daniel and Neve Pospisil, Annalea Bowman-Lopez (Ulises), Takoda, Angelica and Liam Bowman, and Adysen Norton – each of whom brought her great joy. &nbsp;Ann is lovingly remembered by her dear siblings John Hefner, David Hefner (Virginia), and Barbara Hefner.

A memorial service celebrating Ann’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Community Church of the Brethren, 1600 N. Severance St., Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place. &nbsp;A private family inurnment will follow at a later date in Quinter cemetery.

Leslie Gayle Evans Torrence was born Oct. 23, 1947 and died Sept. 28, 2025.

According to the children, Mom went to join Dad today….she wasn’t ready to leave her children and grandchildren but she was so ready to meet back up with her husband of 60 years. They had a life. &nbsp; Son of the town welder, daughter of the town jeweler. He was not good enough for her and she was not good enough for him (according to their mothers). They shouldn’t have worked out, but they did. They were best friends, lovers, enemies, partners in tormenting their children with jokes and hijinks.

Mom had a wandering Gypsy spirit, and Dad followed her wherever she wanted to go (how we ended up moving 27 times that we remember). Dad never met a stranger (as his children can attest to when going to the store with him), and she was an extroverted introvert who preferred a good book and family time. She was the woman who deserved “The” in front of her name, known as The Gayle by her children and grandchildren. Where she was the storm, he was the gentle rain……at least until she got him going, and then they crackled like lightning at each other. Murriel had the best laugh, and Gayle had the best smile. Together, they created a bond that persevered through life and now continues with her joining him.

Dad was a music teacher at the beginning, a welding instructor in the middle, and became a Registered Nurse in his early 40s. He was always teaching, whether a high school gang banger or a non-compliant diabetic. His favorite job was as a welding instructor at Indio High School in Indio, California. Mom was a Registered Nurse since 1972 (her stories were priceless) and she wore many hats during her career, she was a consummate professional, and an exceptional nurse. It was truly her calling. Her favorite job was at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, where she was a night shift supervisor and then Head Nurse of a cardiac/telemetry unit.

Mostly, they were Mike and Julie’s parents, loving brother and sister to Evelyn Belt, Dolores Lakin, Michael Torrence and Joy Smith.&nbsp; They are preceded in death by their loving parents and multiple family members and friends whom they grieved. They have left behind many that loved them including their children, son, Michael Evans (wife Michelle Dall); daughter, Julie Hibbs (husband Corby Hibbs); grandsons: Jonathan White; Deric Hibbs; Kyle Dall; granddaughters: Porter Evans; &nbsp;Briawna Bain; Abigayle Hibbs; and Chloe Hibbs.If you were lucky enough to be loved by these two, please know you were loved fiercely.&nbsp; We pray they are dancing in the waves, no longer in pain and watching over us all.

There are no services planned at this time, and a private interment will take place at a later date.

Together, they created a bond that persevered through life and now continues with her joining him.Dad was a music teacher at the beginning, a welding instructor in the middle, and became a Registered Nurse in his early 40s. He was always teaching, whether a high school gang banger or a non-compliant diabetic. His favorite job was as a welding instructor at Indio High School in Indio, California. Mom was a Registered Nurse since 1972 (her stories were priceless) and she wore many hats during her career, she was a consummate professional, and an exceptional nurse. It was truly her calling. Her favorite job was at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, where she was a night shift supervisor and then Head Nurse of a cardiac/telemetry unit.Mostly, they were Mike and Julie’s parents, loving brother and sister to Evelyn Belt, Dolores Lakin, Michael Torrence and Joy Smith.&nbsp; They are preceded in death by their loving parents and multiple family members and friends whom they grieved. Carol married Tom Westfall on May 5, 1965, in Wichita. Together they owned and ran Graphic Impressions in Hutchinson, KS. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved the most and attending her grandchildren’s different activities and events. Those who knew her will remember her generosity and her giving spirit. She always had a gift for everyone. &nbsp;

Carol is survived by: husband, Tom Westfall; sons Jeff Westfall (Heather), Ryan Westfall (Autumn); grandchildren, Brandi Koch (Jimmy) Kaitlyn Marks (Tyler), Lauren Stade (Brenden), Tyler and Fletcher Westfall; great-grandchildren, Max and Cody Koch, Hayden Marks, and two other granddaughters; nephew, Todd Christian (Pam); great-niece, Ali Arts (Silas) and great-nephew, Ian Christian.&nbsp;

Lanis Boydston, better known as “Charlie,” age 74, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born June 25, 1951, in Omaha, NE to Gary Duane and Marilyn Rose (Ramus) Solan.

Charlie graduated from South Haven School in Omaha, NE in 1969. She dedicated her career to serving others, working as a CNA at Golden Plains Nursing Home in Hutchinson before later serving as a retail associate, most recently at Hobby Lobby.

She found joy in life’s beautiful and finest moments, the gentle bloom of flowers, the cheerful songs of birds, and the calming rhythm of rain. Her cats were a source of comfort and delight, but it was her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her the greatest happiness. Charlie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

On May 30, 1990, she married Leon “Shorty” Boydston in Hutchinson. Together they shared more than 35 years of love and companionship. He survives.

She is also survived by her children, Lisa (Jim) Orrison, Beth (Scott) Carlton, Shari (Tyler) Kuntz, and Sean Boydston; her brother, Rick Anderson of Omaha, NE; her sisters, Sherry Harris of Omaha, NE, and Mary Jo Ecis of La Vista, NE; sisters-in-law, Marsha Boydston, Kingman, Pam (Gary) Martin, and Sandy Avery, Hutchinson; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; a sister-in-law; and a niece.

Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mystie LaShae Chace, who left us too soon on September 28, 2025. Born on February 10, 1984, in Anthony, KS. Mystie was a loving mother, a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and a truly remarkable person in every way.

 Mystie had a heart of gold. She loved her job as a CNA, taking care and providing for her patients. Occasionally she would take her boys to visit her patients. Her love for all knew no boundaries, and her generous spirit touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. 

She is survived by her sons, Brayden Iverson and Bryce (Ivey Travis) Iverson, both of Hutchinson; mother, Bonnie (Corey) Lawless of Belle Plaine; father, Bob Chace of Newkirk, OK; brother, Robbie Chace of Beatrice, NE; step-brothers, Timothy Chace and Christopher Chace, both of Valley Center, Nathan (Kellie) Lawless of Hutchinson, Loren (Kate) Lawless of Castle Pines, CO; friend, Paul Kendall; and numerous family members and a host of friends.

Vicky Lynn Pahl, 69, of Pretty Prairie, died September 27, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born February 7, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Melvin L. and Joyce E. (Strawn) Herrell.

Vicky graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1974 and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Saint Mary of the Plains College in 1978. She was a grade school teacher for over 35 years, most of those with USD 311 in Pretty Prairie, retiring in 2015. Vicky enjoyed attending theater productions and Hutchinson Community Concerts. But most of all, her world revolved around her grandchildren and attending their activities. Vicky was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in South Hutchinson.

On August 11, 1979, she married John H. Pahl, in Dodge City. He survives.

Also surviving are: her children, Charles Pahl (Rachel) of Topeka, Jessica Tercero of Pretty Prairie, Benjamin Pahl (Jade) of Goddard; grandchildren, Liam and Oliva Pahl, Mykenzie and Mykayla Tercero, Reese and Ellie Pahl; siblings, Joseph Herrell, Greg Herrell, Teresa Frieb (Dan), Doug Herrell, Brent Herrell (Brandi), Sara Brubaker (Ron); her beloved Miniature Yorkie, Roxie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Richardo Tercero.

Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, with Father Eric Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Castleton.

Karen Reginia Walters passed September 16, 2025 at Good Samaritan in Hutchinson, Kansas.&nbsp;

Born Karen Reginia Thomas on March 7, 1953, in Lexington, Missouri. She was raised by her mother and stepfather Karen and Donald H. Jordan.

She had two children, Shane and Jamie. Siblings Donald L., Kelly B. and Michael S. Jordan. Grandchildren Jordan Campbell, Brendan Mock, Kinsey Mock, Marcy Mock. Son-in-law Shannon Campbell.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by mother Karen, father Donald. Daughter Jamie Campbell.&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.

Mary Louise Yoder, 85, of Arp, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2025, at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas. She was born October 18, 1939, in Greensburg, Indiana to Clifford and Inez (Mires) Weisner. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1957.

On January 19, 1963, she married Robert D. Yoder in Greensburg, Indiana. He survives along with their 3 children, Amy (Kelly) Starr of Tyler, TX, Jay (Laura) Yoder of Hutchinson, Kansas and Jill (Greg) Godfrey of Queen Creek, Arizona. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Alex (Maria) Godfrey, Amanda Godfrey (Tim Griggs), Emily (Luis) Ewing, Dakota (Morgan) Starr, Tanner (McKayLee) Starr, Adam Yoder, Austin Godfrey, Garrison Starr, Aaron Godfrey, Victoria (Cooper) Brown, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Patty Strasburger and Jeanie Kile Patterson, and her brother, Cliff Weisner.

Mary was a homemaker but once her 3 children were well into school, she added some part-time office clerical jobs at several different companies over the years, mostly so she had someone to talk with. She was a 50+ year member of Eastern Star, and a member of Audubon societies, PTAs, and quilting guilds in the various places she lived.

Mary was known and loved for her spunk and bright colors and was never afraid to speak her mind to anyone nearby. She loved watching birds and wild animals and playing in the snow. For more than 25 years, she and 9-10 high school girlfriends would rent a house or condo for 4-5 days in places such as Branson, Gatlinburg, or near Indiana’s Brown County State Park and take in shows, shop, or just sit and talk, laugh, and sometimes cry a little. At least that’s what they always told us. Mary loved quilts, baskets, and books, and she accumulated many of each. She especially liked reading about quilts, the Civil War, and pioneer women. While living in Kansas, she learned wheat weaving and made many decorative items with wheat.

Mary’s favorite entertainment was always just driving around the countryside looking for wild animals, fall color, Christmas lights, spring flowers, and Amish farms. With Bob, they visited all 50 states and ventured into Canada and Mexico.

A Celebration of Life was held on September 20 at Pollard United Methodist Church in Tyler, Texas. That celebration can be viewed at Celebration of Life - Mary Yoder

Mary Louise Yoder |1939-2025|

Betty Bolton Bengston, 88, the daughter of Sheldon and Glesner Bergstrand Bolton, was born on January 3, 1937, in Kirby, Oregon. &nbsp;She passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025. &nbsp;She graduated from Windom High School in 1955. While in high school, she started singing in a girl’s quartet that started her love of music and piano. Her other love was soon to be husband Virgul who wrote in her yearbook, “Best wishes to a swell girl and girlfriend.” &nbsp;

That following year, Betty was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart at Andover Lutheran Church, Windom. They established a home in McPherson and then later would move to a small farm outside of Groveland. &nbsp;This union was blessed with three children, Pamela, Connie, and Kevin.&nbsp;

After her children became school age, Betty attended some business classes and started working at Farmland Industries, McPherson. In 1979, Betty decided to move to Wichita and restart her life. She worked for Boeing Aircraft until she retired. &nbsp;

She was a devoted Christian and found a new church life at Central Community Church. She attended every Sunday and became very involved in their Sunday School and met many new friends.&nbsp;

Betty enjoyed all the various organizations and events that were available in the “big city.” She became an avid shopper and loved buying beautiful clothes and decorating her home. When she bought her first home there, she loved flowers so much that she planted her whole backyard with flowers and shrubs.&nbsp;

When her grandchildren started being born after her move, she came back to Inman to as many events as she could. She loved watching them in their school music programs or playing sports. She enjoyed having them over for the weekends and spoiling them in Wichita.&nbsp;

Betty loved to travel and went on bus tours and cruises to visit 7 countries. One of her most treasured trips was traveling to Hawaii with her mom. While there, they got to be a part of her niece’s wedding.&nbsp;

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; Arnold Bolton, Norman Bolton, Delores Hedrich; and Louise “Dot” Sills; and a daughter in law, Kim Bengston.&nbsp;

 </figure>Betty Bolton Bengston, 88, the daughter of Sheldon and Glesner Bergstrand Bolton, was born on January 3, 1937, in Kirby, Oregon. &nbsp;She passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025. &nbsp;She graduated from Windom High School in 1955. While in high school, she started singing in a girl’s quartet that started her love of music and piano. Her other love was soon to be husband Virgul who wrote in her yearbook, “Best wishes to a swell girl and girlfriend.” &nbsp;That following year, Betty was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart at Andover Lutheran Church, Windom. They established a home in McPherson and then later would move to a small farm outside of Groveland. &nbsp;This union was blessed with three children, Pamela, Connie, and Kevin.&nbsp;After her children became school age, Betty attended some business classes and started working at Farmland Industries, McPherson. In 1979, Betty decided to move to Wichita and restart her life. She worked for Boeing Aircraft until she retired. &nbsp;She was a devoted Christian and found a new church life at Central Community Church. She attended every Sunday and became very involved in their Sunday School and met many new friends.&nbsp;Betty enjoyed all the various organizations and events that were available in the “big city.” She became an avid shopper and loved buying beautiful clothes and decorating her home. When she bought her first home there, she loved flowers so much that she planted her whole backyard with flowers and shrubs.&nbsp;When her grandchildren started being born after her move, she came back to Inman to as many events as she could. She loved watching them in their school music programs or playing sports. She enjoyed having them over for the weekends and spoiling them in Wichita.&nbsp;Betty loved to travel and went on bus tours and cruises to visit 7 countries. One of her most treasured trips was traveling to Hawaii with her mom. Randy Floyd Smith, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at his home in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on August 27, 1955, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Buford Duane and Ora Belle Smith. Randy graduated from high school in Haven, Kansas in 1973 and later served and retired after 20 years in the Army National Guard.

He had been a painter and fabricator for Collins’ Industries/ Mobile Tech in South Hutchinson &amp; Yoder for 19 years. Early in the 2000’s Randy moved to Wichita and went to work for Wichita Tank Wash for over 20 years, where he enjoyed an honest day’s work for honest day’s pay.&nbsp;

When he was younger, he enjoyed playing Softball for many years at Fun valley.&nbsp; Through his entire life he was an avid sports fan for the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks. &nbsp; Randy also enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping on the water at Cheney Lake. &nbsp;If he couldn’t be found outside, he could be found enjoying a game of billiards. &nbsp;

Survivors include his two sons Chris Smith and wife Samantha, and Randal Smith and wife Amy all of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren Brooklyn, Randal, Cadin, Daniel, Destin, Christopher II, Austin, Hunter &amp; Brooklyn; and two great grandchildren Abrayah and Indigo all of Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Rebecca West, 65, of Hutchinson, died September 23, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 24, 1959, in Hutchinson, to John and Antonia (Vieyra) Martinez.&nbsp;

Rebecca worked as a bag maker at Hubco Inc. for 31 years. She enjoyed her labor tremendously and operated at every work station possible during her time there. Rebecca was well known for baking the best homemade pumpkin pie, apple pie, and her delicious cookies. She enjoyed music such as R&amp;B, Soul, and the Blues, with Elton John being her favorite. Rebecca carried a strength much greater than her size and was truly the epitome of “dynamite in a small package.”

On April 8, 1978, she married Ronald West in Hutchinson. They shared 27 years of marriage before his death on February 6, 2006.

Rebecca is survived by: children, Travis (Angie) West of Lawrence and Hope West of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Donavon McNeely of Lawrence, Rylan West, ReyJon Redenbaugh, and Patrick Redenbaugh, all of Hutchinson, Solar West, and Julian West of Lawrence; siblings, Linda (Daniel) Garcia, John (Shannon) Martinez, and Anna Martinez, all of Hutchinson, and Timothy (Tammy) Martinez of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Martinez; and sister, Elizabeth Juarez.&nbsp;

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 612 S Maple St, South Hutchinson, with Father Eric Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.&nbsp;

Paulene M. Schrock, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was born on December 4, 1932, in Richland, NE. She was the beloved daughter of George and Dorothy Kohler.

Paulene graduated from Columbus High School. In 1963, she settled in Hutchinson, KS where she worked at Northgate National Bank. On July 22, 1972, Paulene married Melvin Schrock at Trinity United Methodist Church. They enjoyed 52 years together. Paulene was known for her kindness and her love of Polka music.

She is survived by her son William (Mary) Ritzdorf; granddaughters, Kyrie G. Ritzdorf and Erika D. Ritzdorf; a great grandson, Cailen Drown; stepdaughters, Katheryn (Ric) Rudiger and Marjean (Alan) Meeder.

Paulene was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Schrock; her parents, George and Dorothy Kohler; sister, Betty; daughter, Barbara Ritzdorf; and step grandsons, Mitchell Mueller and Dallis Grubbs.
