Larry A. McClure, 90, died July 17, 2026, at Hospice House of Reno County in Hutchinson, KS. Larry was born August 1, 1935, in Bushton, KS. to Harvey A. and Margaret A. (Werner) McClure.

Larry graduated from Ellinwood High School and attended St. Mary’s of the Plains. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Larry married Cecilia C. Klug in 1960, they divorced in 1982. Larry was a sheet rocker by trade for 40+ years in Wichita, KS. He was in high demand and employed by various construction companies working on commercial buildings, including Towne East Mall, St. Francis Hospital and several hotels. He was a life-long member of the local Carpenters Union.

Larry loved his family, was an avid reader and liked television news and movies. He moved to Hutchinson in 2024 to be near his daughter. They enjoyed watching Chiefs football games together. Larry was active, independent and driving until heart issues this summer. He will be deeply missed.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Kim A. and husband Skip Wilson, Hutchinson; and son, Doug A. McClure, Bel Aire, KS.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Larry’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Inurnment will be held at Holy Family Cemetery in Odin, KS, at a later date.

Memorial donations are suggested to Boys and Girls Clubs of Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
