Phyllis “Ruth” Schmucker, 90, of Buhler, died June 11, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. She was born May 20, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Joseph and Lela (Jones) Stalcup.&nbsp;

Ruth was a graduate of Haven High School, Hutch Community College, and Salt City Business School. She worked for Hedricks Exotic Animal Farm and The Train Depot at the Kansas State Fair. Ruth was a homemaker and worked hard as a farmer’s wife. She was well known for her cookies, cinnamon red-hot Jello, and delicious potato salad. Ruth greatly enjoyed all flowers and was a member of the Hutchinson Iris Club.

On November 16, 1956, she married Earl Dean Schmucker in Hutchinson. They shared 58 years of marriage before his death on May 3, 2015.&nbsp;

Ruth is survived by: children, Ken (Michelle) Schmucker of Hutchinson, Bryan (Becky) Schmucker of Inman, and Brenda (Bill) Ebeling of Buhler; grandchildren, Jonathan (Kristen) Schmucker, Aaron (Jessica) Schmucker, Apryl (Dan) Dressler, Brooke (Matt) Harper, and Bailey (Cody) Hopkins; sisters, Jane Koontz and Carol Winkley both of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Brahnan, Beckett, Laikin, Keston, and Jayven Schmucker, Macklyn and Dayden Dressler, and Natalie, Alex, and Charolotte Harper, and Lucy and Lily Hopkins.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by: parents; beloved husband, Earl Dean Schmucker; siblings, Bud Stalcup, Dorothy Kline, and Mary Dodds; and great-grandson, Travis Paul Harper.&nbsp;

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church, 415 N. West St. Buhler, KS, with Minister Jimie-Wray Mead and Pastor Curt Vogt officiating. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Andy Hill, who helped guide Hutchinson Community College to a conference title in the mid-1990s before spending five seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs’ assistant special teams coach, is retiring from coaching, the team announced this week.

Hill served as head coach at Hutchinson from 1994 to 1996, leading the Blue Dragons to an 18-6 record over three seasons. His 1995 team went 10-2, winning the program’s first conference championship since 1969 and finishing No. 9 in the final NJCAA national poll. He was named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the turnaround effort.

Hill originally joined the HutchCC staff as offensive coordinator in 1992, a role he held for two seasons before being promoted to head coach. His early work with the Blue Dragons helped lay the foundation for a modern era of success within the program.

After Hutchinson, Hill spent the bulk of his career at the University of Missouri, his alma mater, where he served in a variety of roles over 24 seasons, including special teams coordinator, wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator. Hill played wide receiver at Mizzou from 1980 to 1984.

He joined the Chiefs’ coaching staff in 2020 under special teams coordinator Dave Toub. During his time with Kansas City, the franchise won multiple Super Bowl titles and maintained one of the league’s top special teams units.

Hill’s career in coaching spanned more than three decades at the junior college, collegiate and professional levels.

STAFFORD COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 7:30p.m. Wednesday in Stafford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Mazda 3 driven by Brittany L.&nbsp;Hayden, 38, Hutchinson, was westbound on NE 40th Street at NE 120th Avenue.

The driver failed to yield to a southbound 2016 Chevy Silverado driven by Willem A. Vanderwalt, 42, St. John. The vehicles collided.

EMS transported Hayden to the Stafford County Hospital. Vanderwalt and a 10-year-old in the Mazda were not injured. The occupants of the Mazda were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.

Hutchinson woman hospitalized after car, pickup crash

Johnie Mack Murphy Sr. died June 2, 2025 at his home in Oroville, California at the age of 87.

He was born August 30, 1937 near Haven, Kansas to C. Lloyd Murphy and Ida May (Bigley) Murphy.

He attended Hutchinson schools and graduated HHS class of 1956. He then served in the U.S. Naval Reserve on USS Wittstruck and then with Air National Guard Reserve.

Johnie worked for Boeing, Cessna, Reger Rental, Ultra Van and American Salt Company before moving to California in 1970, eventually retiring as an insurance agent.

He married Shirley White in April, 1957. They later divorced. Johnie married Opal (Flynn) Moore on May 28, 1964. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Johnie played golf, bowled, fished, enjoyed camping and belonged to Moose Lodge and AFL/CIO.

He attended First Church of God Church.&nbsp;

Johnie was preceded in death by parents, infant sister Janet Murphy, son-in-law Harold Shipley, brother-in-law and sister Doug Mitchell and Deanna Mitchell, sister-in-law Jan Murphy, son Johnie M. Murphy Jr., grandson Mike Moore, and infant great granddaughter, Zeta Abundiz.

He is survived by wife Opal, daughter Penny (Bob) Remson, son Shawn (Angie) Murphy, daughter-in-law Tracy Murphy, step daughters Doris (Mike) Sims, Debbie Galbreath, and Becky (Jay) Cort and step son Terry Moore, 38 grandchildren, 45 great grand children, brothers Jim (Lois) Murphy and Bill Murphy, and sister Dee Murphy.

Helen M. Hadley, 97, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Mena, Arkansas, surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born on January 15, 1928, in Casa, Arkansas. Her family later relocated to Hutchinson, Kansas, where she attended the United Methodist Church of South Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945. She then attended Salt City Business College before marrying the love of her life, Curtiss E. Hadley, on February 14, 1946. Their devoted marriage spanned over sixty-one years.

Helen began her professional career at Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She went on to serve as a secretary and later advanced to become a marketing executive. A trailblazer, she was one of the first female lobbyists for the Department of Labor in the state of Kansas and also served on the Kansas State Board of Mental Health. She retired in 1994.

In retirement, Helen pursued her love of painting and crafting, but most importantly, she remained deeply connected to her family. Following the passing of her husband Curt in 2008, Helen sold their family home and moved to a garden home in Kisiwa Village, Hutchinson. Ever the family matriarch, she soon began planning memorable family vacations, including a Thanksgiving cruise in 2011 with 30 family members through the Caribbean, followed by a trip to Hawaii and other travels with Village Tours out of Wichita. With humor and heart, she often told her children she was “spending their inheritance on memories.”

A cherished highlight of her later years was reconnecting with the United Methodist Church of South Hutchinson, where she joyfully joined in a long-standing family tradition of helping prepare pies and homemade chicken and noodles for the Kansas State Fair—a legacy started by her mother, Della Hale.

Helen is survived by her children: Karen Herpich of Mena, AR; Rachel Gilley and husband Larry of Mena, AR; and Scott Hadley and wife Patricia of Tennessee Colony, TX. She also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Presha Mustakas of Liberty Hill, TX; Catherine Lewis of Mena, AR; Beau Michael of Leander, TX; Dr. Jennifer Hadley-Hicks of Birmingham, AL; and Dr. Mychelle Hadley of San Antonio, TX. Helen was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Jordan Thomas, Brittany Burgess, Corey Moon, Megan Moon, Allie Mustakas, and Hannah Michael; and four great-great-grandchildren: Rachel Thomas, Timothy Thomas, Keena Burgess, and Daxton Burgess.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Della Hale; her husband, Curt; and her brothers, Clyde and Ben Hale.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with burial to follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. To date, an estimated 522 tons of debris, primarily from damaged homes, has been hauled away, reflecting both the extent of the storm’s destruction and the resilience of the community.

A coordinated network of local partners known as Reno County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) has taken the lead in providing immediate and ongoing support. Among them, United Way of Reno County (UWRC) is working toward a $250,000 fundraising goal to help residents rebuild.

“Every dollar raised helps provide the tools and resources our neighbors need to rebuild their lives,” said Lacey Mills, CEO of UWRC. “We’re incredibly grateful to those who have donated and ask others to consider contributing.”

Donations can be made securely online at&nbsp;<a href="https://unitedwayofrenocounty.org/disaster">unitedwayofrenocounty.org/disaster</a>.

As recovery moves forward, the next step for affected families will be a contractor bid tour scheduled for Wednesday, July 2. During the tour, licensed and insured contractors will assess repair projects, primarily roof and window work, and submit bids.

Plevna tornado recovery efforts continue, next steps underway

HAVEN, Kan. —&nbsp;Haven High School graduate Nash Wray etched his name into Kansas baseball history this spring, finishing his prep career as the state’s all-time leader in base hits.

Wray recorded 155 hits over four seasons, breaking the Kansas State High School Activities Association career record. He surpassed the previous mark of 140, set earlier this spring by Hayden Kearney of Valley Falls.

“It means a lot,” Wray said. “It’s crazy to think about, but my coaches, my dad, and everyone around me helped me to accomplish what I got done.”

A left-handed batter and right-handed thrower, Wray was a four-year starter at shortstop and a mainstay in the Wildcats’ lineup. He was named a unanimous first-team All-Central Kansas League selection at shortstop and earned first-team all-state honors in Class 3A as a middle infielder.

Wray plans to continue his career at Hutchinson Community College, where he’ll play for head coach Brock Nehls. He is spending his summer with the Kingman Islanders, a member of the Jayhawk Collegiate League, to prepare for the jump to college baseball.

“It’s going pretty good so far,” Wray said. “It’s just going to get me ready for this fall and spring next year, to see college arms and stuff.”

Known for his speed and versatility, Wray batted left-handed to give himself an edge out of the box, particularly on bunts and infield hits. While he initially tried switch-hitting as a youngster, he quickly committed to the left side.

“I feel like I can get faster out of the box,” he said. “It’s easier to lay down a bunt to third and beat it out.”

Though the Wildcats never broke through to the state tournament, Wray said the experience playing alongside his teammates was unforgettable.

“It was really fun playing with the guys I played with throughout the four years,” he said. “They made it fun. My coaches and family and everyone else around me made it fun.”

A three-sport athlete, Wray also served as the Wildcats’ quarterback in football and point guard in basketball. He believes his multi-sport background was key to his success.

“Playing multiple sports helped me by making me stronger mentally and physically,” Wray said. “It helped me become faster, have better IQ, and be more savvy about baseball. It just made me a better athlete and a better person.”

At Hutchinson, Wray expects to play primarily shortstop but is also open to seeing time in the outfield, anywhere he can contribute.

“I just want to play,” he said. “Wherever I get put next year, I’ll be ready.”

Nash's younger brother, Brogan, also had a stellar season as a sophomore, earning first-team All-Central Kansas League third base and honorable mention all-state honors.&nbsp;

 </figure><a href="mailto:sean.boston@eaglemedia.com">SEAN BOSTON</a> Hutch PostHAVEN, Kan. —&nbsp;Haven High School graduate Nash Wray etched his name into Kansas baseball history this spring, finishing his prep career as the state’s all-time leader in base hits.Wray recorded 155 hits over four seasons, breaking the Kansas State High School Activities Association career record. He surpassed the previous mark of 140, set earlier this spring by Hayden Kearney of Valley Falls.“It means a lot,” Wray said. “It’s crazy to think about, but my coaches, my dad, and everyone around me helped me to accomplish what I got done.”A left-handed batter and right-handed thrower, Wray was a four-year starter at shortstop and a mainstay in the Wildcats’ lineup. He was named a unanimous first-team All-Central Kansas League selection at shortstop and earned first-team all-state honors in Class 3A as a middle infielder.Wray plans to continue his career at Hutchinson Community College, where he’ll play for head coach Brock Nehls. He is spending his summer with the Kingman Islanders, a member of the Jayhawk Collegiate League, to prepare for the jump to college baseball.“It’s going pretty good so far,” Wray said. “It’s just going to get me ready for this fall and spring next year, to see college arms and stuff.”Known for his speed and versatility, Wray batted left-handed to give himself an edge out of the box, particularly on bunts and infield hits. While he initially tried switch-hitting as a youngster, he quickly committed to the left side.“I feel like I can get faster out of the box,” he said. “It’s easier to lay down a bunt to third and beat it out.”Though the Wildcats never broke through to the state tournament, Wray said the experience playing alongside his teammates was unforgettable.“It was really fun playing with the guys I played with throughout the four years,” he said. “They made it fun. My coaches and family and everyone else around me made it fun.”A three-sport athlete, Wray also served as the Wildcats’ quarterback in football and point guard in basketball. He believes his multi-sport background was key to his success.“Playing multiple sports helped me by making me stronger mentally and physically,” Wray said. “It helped me become faster, have better IQ, and be more savvy about baseball. It just made me a better athlete and a better person.”At Hutchinson, Wray expects to play primarily shortstop but is also open to seeing time in the outfield, anywhere he can contribute.“I just want to play,” he said. “Wherever I get put next year, I’ll be ready.”Nash's younger brother, Brogan, also had a stellar season as a sophomore, earning first-team All-Central Kansas League third base and honorable mention all-state honors.&nbsp;You can see the complete list of all high school records in the state, by <a href="https://www.kshof.org/state-records">clicking here</a>.<figure>

⚾ Haven’s Nash Wray sets Kansas high school career hits record

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Municipal Band, one of the oldest continually operating ensembles of its kind, is celebrating its 150th year in 2025 with a full slate of summer performances, continuing tonight with its second concert of the season.

The band will take the stage at 8 p.m. in the recital hall at the Stringer Fine Arts Center on the Hutchinson Community College campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Founded in 1875, the band’s longevity is a source of pride for its members and the Hutchinson community.

“A lot of people don’t know this, but the Municipal Band is actually written into the city charter,” said Charles Johnston, the group’s vice president. “It states that the city should maintain a military band. Originally, there was even a specific tax levied for that purpose. Over time, of course, that was folded into the general fund.”

Johnston said the ensemble’s funding and structure have evolved through the decades, but the mission has remained constant.

“Like many arts organizations over the years, our funding has waxed and waned,” he said. “So we're really pleased to have made it to 150 years. It's unusual for any organization, let alone a musical ensemble, to last that long.”

The group typically includes 35 to 55 musicians per concert and draws from a wide swath of the community, ranging from high school students to working professionals in fields like education, engineering, medicine and logistics.

“That’s one of the things I’m really proud of,” Johnston said. “The band continues to provide young people with their first professional gig. That’s what it was for me. I was in high school, sitting next to professionals and teachers. It was inspiring.”

He added that the diversity of the group adds depth and perspective to the ensemble.

“It’s made up of professional musicians, music educators, engineers, doctors, secretaries, nonprofit leaders and even FedEx drivers,” Johnston said. “All of these individuals had music touch their lives in some way.”

Each Tuesday performance features a new program, often assembled just hours before the show.

“We show up at 6 p.m., and by 8 p.m., we’re performing music we’ve often never seen before,” Johnston said. “Sight-reading is a crucial skill, and the Municipal Band relies on musicians who can do it well.”

After facing weather-related cancellations last summer in the central park area at HutchCC, the band has shifted its season indoors to the Stringer Fine Arts Center, where the recital hall offers both more space and protection from Kansas’s unpredictable weather.

“Last year we had to cancel three concerts, which was pretty unprecedented,” Johnston said. “And the gazebo at the park just wasn’t built to handle a group our size. So moving indoors has really solved a lot of those issues.”

This year’s summer concert series opened June 3 and continues on June 10, June 17, June 24 and July 1, with special performances by South City Jazz, an affiliated ensemble, on July 6 and July 15.

“It’s a little bit of everything,” Johnston said. “Marches, Broadway, patriotic themes, movie soundtracks, you name it. And every concert is different, with a fresh set of selections and a different conductor each week.”

This season’s rotation of conductors includes Abby Giles of Sterling USD 376, Sterling Reynolds of Central Christian School, Dan Brinkley of Nickerson–South Hutchinson USD 309, Daryl Koestel of Hutchinson USD 308, and Jeff Pelischek, retired from HutchCC.

The band expects to have between 50 and 75 musicians participate throughout the summer season, a reflection of both the ensemble’s broad reach and its deep community roots.

“It's a real cross-section of the community, and that’s a lot of people to coordinate and manage,” Johnston said. “But it’s worth it. Music brings people together, and that’s what this band has been doing for 150 years.”

Hutchinson Municipal Band performs tonight on HutchCC campus

In a Facebook post, the City of Arlington said that they have taken a major step toward improving its Community Center Gym, thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Helen Adams Hamilton Children and Education Fund of the Hutchinson Community Foundation.

With the grant and strong community backing, fundraising efforts have now reached a total of $32,428.38. The funds will go toward the installation of 60-foot tube heaters and an 18-foot industrial fan, helping bring much-needed climate control to the gym.

Work is scheduled to begin June 9, with Kraft Electric and Flow Tech Solutions leading the installation. City officials say the upgrades should be complete in time for the 4th of July holiday.

“We’re thrilled to say: we should have heat for the 4th of July!” the city said in a Facebook post.&nbsp;

Several local businesses and organizations have also contributed to the project, including Miller Earthworks, Inc., Dream First Bank, Kansas Gas Services, Inc., 61 Liquor, Yutzy Contracting &amp; Sons, Decker &amp; Mattison Co., Inc., Elliott Mortuary, Steve’s Dozing &amp; Scraping, Wray and Sons Roofing, and Rocking LD Angus Ranch.

Perform minor carpentry tasks as required.

Maintain fire alarm and mitigation systems.

Have good working knowledge of automated and non-automated maintenance scheduling and recordkeeping systems and input required data.

Maintain resident assistive devices and equipment owned by The Wesley.

Maintain compliance with Life Safety Code (LSC) and other applicable regulations, codes, and other requirements including reporting and correcting unsafe or noncompliant issues when encountered. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed.

Communicate effectively with supervisory staff, other staff, residents, visitors, contractors, and vendors, including responding timely to two-way radio calls.

Complete educational and training requirements timely and participate in any drills or training scenarios as applicable.

Operate company equipment and vehicles and participate in errands and resident transportation when necessary.

Center of the Nation train show this weekend

DODGE CITY, Kan. — The 2025 Kansas Junior Amateur Championship tees off Tuesday at Mariah Hills Golf Course, with more than 150 of the state’s top youth golfers competing in a 54-hole stroke-play event that runs through Thursday.

Among those in the field are Hutchinson's Race Lusk (Buhler High School) and Miles Blaylock (Trinity Catholic), as well as Anika Paulsrud (Buhler High School) on the girls' side. Naomi Koontz of Newton is also set to compete in the girls’ division.

Lusk is scheduled to tee off Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. on Hole 1, alongside Jackson Taylor (Dodge City) and Owen Young (Wichita). Blaylock begins his first round at 12:39 p.m. on Hole 1, paired with Cohen Hageman (Wichita) and Braeden Masterson (Wichita). Paulsrud will start at 2 p.m. on Hole 1 with Mya Niehues (Concordia) and Ali Perry (St. Joseph, Mo.). Koontz is grouped with Hadley Neese (Overland Park) at 2:09 p.m. on Hole 10.

The championship includes five age divisions for boys and one for girls, with the field cut after Wednesday’s second round to determine Thursday’s final-round qualifiers. An overall boys and girls champion will also be crowned.

In 2024, Wichita’s Asher Whitaker and Emerie Schartz claimed the respective titles. Schartz returns to defend her girls’ crown.

Play begins each day with tee times off both No. 1 and No. 10 at 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The course is set up at approximately 6,900 yards for boys and 5,700 yards for girls.

Edward Lee “Ed” Dobkins, 77, died June 7, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. &nbsp;He was born December 28, 1947, in Abilene, to Francis E. and Virginia C. Dobkins.

Ed graduated from Abilene High School in 1966. He immediately joined the United States Navy, where he served from July 1966 to April 1970. Ed was a simple man, and currently the owner of Dobkins Drill Systems, Inc. He enjoyed camping, hang gliding, attending Kansas State football games, and traveling with his wife, Mary Beth. &nbsp;Above all, Ed cherished time spent with his two grandchildren, and supporting them in their endeavors. &nbsp;&nbsp;

In January 1984, he married Mary Beth Tomlinson, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;

Ed is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of 40 years, Mary Beth Dobkins; son, Eric Stambaugh (Amanda); grandson, Ethan Stambaugh, all of Hutchinson; brother, Robert Allen Dobkins; and sister, Alda Lucinda Loreg. &nbsp;He is also survived by his four-legged companion, Mellow.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Haven Sue Stambaugh.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Elliott Chapel with Wayne DeWindt officiating. &nbsp;Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS &nbsp;67501.&nbsp;

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — A former Kansas substitute teacher accused of sex crimes with students made her first court appearance in the case Monday in Reno County.

Whitney Shull, 39, who worked at Nickerson-South Hutchinson USD 309&nbsp; was charged with&nbsp; unlawful sexual relations, attempted unlawful sexual relations, aggravated sexual battery and two counts of hosting minors consuming alcohol.

The alleged incidents occurred in Reno County between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, and involved instances where Shull allegedly engaged in sexual acts with two teens; one consensual and one non-consensual, when the alleged victim was unconscious, and held down the wrists of a third teen to unsuccessfully engage in a sex act, according to a complaint filed in Reno County District court.

Shull's attorney did not attend the hearing. Shull is scheduled to return to court for a status hearing July 23.

On June 2, Shull met the requirement of bond and is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.

Teacher accused of sex crimes with students appears in court

Reno County commissioners will meet on Wednesday morning for a regularly scheduled meeting. &nbsp;The meeting will be in the Veterans’ Room of the Reno County Courthouse at 9 a.m. &nbsp;

On the agenda is an item to approve a $26,740 professional survey that could shape the future of a proposed countywide sales tax increase, as local leaders explore options to fund infrastructure and public services while easing pressure on property taxes.&nbsp;

The proposal stems from a Feb. 4 joint meeting between the Reno County Commission and Hutchinson City Council, during which both governing bodies expressed support for a sales tax measure to benefit cities throughout the county. The long-term aim is to place a finalized sales tax proposal on the 2026 ballot.&nbsp;

If approved, the survey would be conducted by Wichita State University’s Public Policy and Management Center. It would measure voter support for a potential half-cent or full-cent sales tax increase and identify which types of projects or services—such as roads, public safety, or economic development—might earn the most community backing.&nbsp;

County Administrator Randy Partington endorsed the plan in a memo to commissioners, calling it a “small investment” that could help develop ballot language likely to pass.&nbsp;

“The survey gives us solid data to shape a sales tax proposal that voters may be more likely to support,” he wrote.&nbsp;

Revenue projections suggest a half-cent increase could bring in roughly $3 million annually for the county’s share alone, while a full cent could generate about $6 million. The current 1-cent countywide sales tax, in place since the early 2000s, has provided consistent revenue for municipalities over the last five years.&nbsp;

Commissioners will consider whether to approve the WSU agreement, reject the proposal, or table it for further discussion. The funds would come from the county’s general fund under a designated line item for professional services.&nbsp;

In other business, the commission will consider the approval of a $763,500 construction bid for a new emergency medical services station in Arlington. The low bid, submitted by Ward Davis Builders, came in just over the county’s original $750,000 budget.&nbsp;

Officials say the overage is due to rising material costs and unplanned geotechnical requirements for the site. The project will be paid for with a mix of federal allocations and the county’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) reserve funds.&nbsp;

Construction could begin as early as July. Once completed, the station—EMS Station 3—will bolster emergency response capabilities in the Arlington area.&nbsp;

After value engineering, the bid was trimmed by nearly $30,000 from its original estimate of $387,000.&nbsp;The final project cost of $379,648 includes $7,000 in permitting and surveying fees and $14,850 to meet new zoning requirements after the site was rezoned. Those requirements include installing privacy slats in perimeter fencing.&nbsp;Although the project exceeds the original $300,000 budget, county staff recommends approval, with the additional costs covered by CIP and reserve funds. Staff will continue to look for ways to reduce zoning-related expenses.&nbsp;
