In a Facebook post, the City of Arlington said that they have taken a major step toward improving its Community Center Gym, thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Helen Adams Hamilton Children and Education Fund of the Hutchinson Community Foundation.
With the grant and strong community backing, fundraising efforts have now reached a total of $32,428.38. The funds will go toward the installation of 60-foot tube heaters and an 18-foot industrial fan, helping bring much-needed climate control to the gym.
Work is scheduled to begin June 9, with Kraft Electric and Flow Tech Solutions leading the installation. City officials say the upgrades should be complete in time for the 4th of July holiday.
“We’re thrilled to say: we should have heat for the 4th of July!” the city said in a Facebook post.
Several local businesses and organizations have also contributed to the project, including Miller Earthworks, Inc., Dream First Bank, Kansas Gas Services, Inc., 61 Liquor, Yutzy Contracting & Sons, Decker & Mattison Co., Inc., Elliott Mortuary, Steve’s Dozing & Scraping, Wray and Sons Roofing, and Rocking LD Angus Ranch.
