The Shockers (2-1) put last weekend's upset loss to Alcorn State behind them with a gritty defensive effort, holding the host Spiders to 37.7 percent from the field. Richmond (2-2) had won nine-straight and 18 of its last 19 home non-conference games coming in. The win marked WSU's eighth straight non-conference road kill going back to March of 2019. 🏀 Shockers Take Down Richmond on the Road

LAWRENCE, Kan. –&nbsp;Senior center Taiyanna Jackson collected her second consecutive double-double and recorded her 100th career block as she led the Jayhawks to a 79-74 win over Texas-Arlington on Wednesday evening at Allen Fieldhouse.

The win improves Kansas to 2-0 on the year, a feat the Jayhawks have accomplished in six consecutive seasons.

Four Jayhawks scored in double-digits, led by junior transfer Wyvette Mayberry, who collected 20 points – including 13 in the fourth quarter. In addition, Jackson and junior Chandler Prater scored 16 points apiece while senior Zakiyah Franklin added 10.&nbsp;

"I thought Taiyanna was terrific, going 6-for-9 from the field. She was 4-for-5 at the break, and we can’t get her more shots because we keep throwing it to the other team. Zakiyah was solid. I thought Chandler was outstanding. I thought Mia was really, really good. Wyvette, after overcoming some turnovers, still had the confidence to make plays down the stretch and take the shots that she took. I think says a lot about her moxie."

Kansas got off to a quick start against UTA, taking a 15-6 lead. The Lady Mavericks went on 6-0 run to cut the lead down to only two points by the end of the first quarter. At the 3:50 minute mark in the second quarter, Mayberry sank a three-pointer to start an 8-0 run for the Jayhawks that quickly turned things around. UT-Arlington was able to sink a couple points of their own, but the Jayhawks responded with a 9-0 run that sent them into the locker room with the largest lead of the half at 38-22.

The Jayhawks had a slow second half start and UTA was able to hold the Jayhawks scoreless for the first four minutes. Jackson ended the scoreless stint with a layup finish, before Mia Vusic nailed her second three-pointer of the game to send the Jayhawks on a 6-0 scoring run, 46-33. With 5:05 to play in the third, Jackson would block a UTA jumper to record her 100th career block in just her 33rd career game at Kansas. The Lady Mavericks would go on a 6-0 run at the end of the third quarter to cut the lead to two, but the Jayhawks would add two more to stay ahead by four at the end of the third quarter, 51-47.&nbsp;

UT Arlington would keep it tight in the fourth quarter, cutting the Kansas lead down to one, however, the Jayhawks would never give up the lead. Mayberry collected back-to-back baskets going on a 5-0 run and tallied nine points in the last four minutes of the game. Mayberry’s stellar 13-point fourth quarter would lead the Jayhawks to a 79-72 win against the Lady Mavericks, collecting their second home game this season.&nbsp;

The Jayhawks hit 8-of-8 free throws in the fourth quarter to close out the victory and recovered from a slow second half start to shoot 50.0 percent (13-of-26) after halftime. For the game, KU shot 50.9% (28-of-55) from the field. The Jayhawks collectively had 46 points from in the paint and pulled down 35 rebounds.

The Jayhawks are back at home on Sunday, November 20 to host UTRGV. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT with the game being carried live on Big 12 NOW.

Notes Senior Taiyanna Jackson collected three blocks and tallied her 100th career block. Jackson also recorded her second consecutive double-double with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds. Junior Chandler Prater tallied a single-game career high five blocks, the most single game blocks by a Kansas player since Feb. 15 against West Virginia. 🏀 Jackson records double-double, 100th career block in win over UTA

The Hutchinson Quarterback Club Hall of Fame has been announced and it has a little something for most everybody.

The Class of 2023 has five individuals and one team to be inducted on Saturday, February 18 at halftime of the Hutchinson-Northwest Tech game at the Sports Arena.

The individual inductees are track and field athlete Skylar Arneson (2012-13), softball player Jessica Glenn (2008-09), football player Terrell Lane (2011-12), volleyball player Teresa Wade (2012-13) and baseball player Shawn Lewis (2009-10).

The 1994 NJCAA National Champion Blue Dragon men’s basketball team will also be inducted with the Class of 2023.

SKYLAR ARNESON (Track and Field - 2012-13)

A Nickerson High School graduate, Arneson was an NJCAA Hammer Throw National Champion in the 2013 NJCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championship at Gowans Stadium.

Arneson was a two-time first-team All-American with an outdoor shot put runner-up finish in 2012. Arneson was an eight-team NJCAA-American – four outdoor, four indoor.

He finished as second-team indoor All-American in the weight throw (3rd place in 2012; 4th place in 2013). He was third and eighth in the indoor shot put.

Outdoor, Arneson was first in the 2013 hammer throw, 2nd and 3rd in the shot put and eighth in the discus.

Arneson continues to be the Hutchinson CC record holder in the Hammer Throw at 198-8.

JESSICA GLENN (Softball - 2008-09)

Glenn was a freshman All-American outfielder in 2008, the program’s first All-American since 1992.

She will be the first Blue Dragon softball player enshrined into the Quarterback Club Hall of Fame.

A 5-foot-7 outfielder from Overland Park, Glenn had an exceptional freshman season for the Blue Dragons, helping the team win 40 games for the second time in program history. Glenn broke six single-season team records, including batting average (.453), total hits (96), runs scored (56) and total bases (119). She ranked in the top 6 of 14 different offensive single-season categories in 2008.

Glenn was named first-team All-Jayhawk East and second-team All-Region VI in her sophomore year of 2009. This is the second-straight year that Glenn earned postseason recognition.

Glenn finished the 2009 season second on the team in hitting at .377 with her first three career home runs and a team-high 42 RBIs. Glenn tied for the team lead in hits with 66 and was second in runs scored with 52. She led the team in stolen bases, going 18 for 19. Glenn had an on-base percentage of .412 and a team-high slugging percentage of .554.

Lane was huge for the Blue Dragons in his sophomore season and earned second-team NJCAA All-America honors as well as all-league and region first-team awards.

Lane not only broke one, but two major rushing record during his sophomore season, which he still holds today.

Lane had nine-straight 100-yard rushing games and three 200-yard rushing games. Lane broke HutchCC’s 46-year-old single-game rushing record of Mack Herron’s when he rushed for 308 yards on just 29 carries in a 63-49 victory over the Broncbusters. The game vaulted him into the national rushing lead for the remainder of the regular season.

Lane wound up second in the nation with a Blue Dragon single-season record 1,632 yards.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lane completed his Blue Dragon career as the fourth-leading rusher all-time with 2,093 yards. Lane scored 28 total touchdowns this season (15 rushing, 3 receiving) and scored 108 points, which ranks third best in single-season HCC history. For his career, Lane had 27 total touchdowns for 162 points, which also ranks third. Lane also caught 24 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns this season. He completed 4 of 6 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.

As a punter, Lane averaged 41.2 yards per attempt on 33 punts with a career best of 62 yards.

If there was ever a case where a single Blue Dragon athlete put his team on his back and carried them in the postseason, it was Lewick.

The Andale High School left-handed pitcher was the staff ace of the 2010 Blue Dragon baseball team that won the Region VI Tournament and finished third in the NJCAA World Series.

In Hutchinson’s sub-regional game against Johnson County, Lewick got the with, throwing 147 pitches. He followed that up with 133 pitches in a win over Cowley in the Central District Winner’s Bracket final at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, a game the Blue Dragons ultimately won 4-3 in 13 innings.

Lewick was 8-2 in his sophomore season of 2010 with 95 strikeouts in 86.2 innings. He had two huge postseason wins in the sub-regional, one in the regional and one in the NJCAA World Series.

Lewick was an honorable mention All-American in 2010. Lewick had three shutouts as a sophomore, which ties for No. 1 in single-season history.

His 95 strikeouts in 2010 are second most still in team history. His 132 strikeouts are fifth in Blue Dragon career history.

TERESA WADE (Volleyball - 2012-13)

The St. John product was a two-time NJCAA second-team All-American and two-time Jayhawk West Most Valuable Player who led the Blue Dragon Volleyball team to back-to-back Jayhawk West and Region VI Championships in 2012 and 2013.

Wade is the only two-time conference Player of the Year in program history.

After six long years, the NJCAA national championship trophy returned to Hutchinson in 1994.

Hutchinson Community College took the lead for good late in the first half and held off a frantic Three Rivers, Mo., comeback for a 78-74 victory in the 1994 NJCAA Tournament championship game at the Sports Arena.

Ben Davis had 20 points, including two decisive free throws with 4.1 seconds left, to lead the Blue Dragons, who finished the season with a 35-4 record, the second-most wins in school history.

Roy “Pooh” Hairston added 18 points, while John Sweet had 13 and Craig Duerksen had 12 points for Hutchinson.

Steve McClain, who won a national title as an assistant coach in 1988, had his own championship as a head coach and was named the Coach of the Tournament

Hairston was named the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player. He finished second in tournament scoring with 72 points. Hairston and Davis, who was ninth in scoring with 66 points, were named to the 12-member all-tournament team. Lucas Wagler earned the Charles Sesher Sportsmanship Award.

He was third and eighth in the indoor shot put.Outdoor, Arneson was first in the 2013 hammer throw, 2nd and 3rd in the shot put and eighth in the discus.Arneson continues to be the Hutchinson CC record holder in the Hammer Throw at 198-8.JESSICA GLENN (Softball - 2008-09)Glenn was a freshman All-American outfielder in 2008, the program’s first All-American since 1992.She will be the first Blue Dragon softball player enshrined into the Quarterback Club Hall of Fame.A 5-foot-7 outfielder from Overland Park, Glenn had an exceptional freshman season for the Blue Dragons, helping the team win 40 games for the second time in program history. Glenn broke six single-season team records, including batting average (.453), total hits (96), runs scored (56) and total bases (119). She ranked in the top 6 of 14 different offensive single-season categories in 2008.Glenn was named first-team All-Jayhawk East and second-team All-Region VI in her sophomore year of 2009. This is the second-straight year that Glenn earned postseason recognition.Glenn finished the 2009 season second on the team in hitting at .377 with her first three career home runs and a team-high 42 RBIs. Glenn tied for the team lead in hits with 66 and was second in runs scored with 52. She led the team in stolen bases, going 18 for 19. Glenn had an on-base percentage of .412 and a team-high slugging percentage of .554.TERRELL LANE (Football - 2011-12)Lane was huge for the Blue Dragons in his sophomore season and earned second-team NJCAA All-America honors as well as all-league and region first-team awards.Lane not only broke one, but two major rushing record during his sophomore season, which he still holds today.Lane had nine-straight 100-yard rushing games and three 200-yard rushing games. Lane broke HutchCC’s 46-year-old single-game rushing record of Mack Herron’s when he rushed for 308 yards on just 29 carries in a 63-49 victory over the Broncbusters. The game vaulted him into the national rushing lead for the remainder of the regular season.Lane wound up second in the nation with a Blue Dragon single-season record 1,632 yards.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lane completed his Blue Dragon career as the fourth-leading rusher all-time with 2,093 yards. Lane scored 28 total touchdowns this season (15 rushing, 3 receiving) and scored 108 points, which ranks third best in single-season HCC history. For his career, Lane had 27 total touchdowns for 162 points, which also ranks third. Lane also caught 24 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns this season. He completed 4 of 6 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.As a punter, Lane averaged 41.2 yards per attempt on 33 punts with a career best of 62 yards.SHAWN LEWICK (Baseball - 2009-10)If there was ever a case where a single Blue Dragon athlete put his team on his back and carried them in the postseason, it was Lewick.The Andale High School left-handed pitcher was the staff ace of the 2010 Blue Dragon baseball team that won the Region VI Tournament and finished third in the NJCAA World Series.In Hutchinson’s sub-regional game against Johnson County, Lewick got the with, throwing 147 pitches. He followed that up with 133 pitches in a win over Cowley in the Central District Winner’s Bracket final at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, a game the Blue Dragons ultimately won 4-3 in 13 innings.Lewick was 8-2 in his sophomore season of 2010 with 95 strikeouts in 86.2 innings. He had two huge postseason wins in the sub-regional, one in the regional and one in the NJCAA World Series.Lewick was an honorable mention All-American in 2010. Lewick had three shutouts as a sophomore, which ties for No. 1 in single-season history.His 95 strikeouts in 2010 are second most still in team history. Hutchinson Quarterback Club Hall of Fame 2023 class announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Kansas City Royals&nbsp;announced today that&nbsp;Jake Eisenberg&nbsp;will join the Royals radio broadcast team for the 2023 season. He will primarily be heard on the Royals Radio Network with&nbsp;Denny Matthews&nbsp;and&nbsp;Steve Stewart&nbsp;and will also call play-by-play on Bally Sports Kansas City for select games when&nbsp;Ryan Lefebvre&nbsp;is on radio.

Eisenberg is taking on the role previously held by&nbsp;Steve Physioc, who is retiring after a broadcasting career that spanned more than 40 years.

“We are excited to welcome Jake to our broadcast team and help share the Royals’ story,” Royals Senior Vice President/COO&nbsp;Brooks Sherman&nbsp;said. “Our great fans will appreciate his passion for the game and knowledge of our players. We’re thankful for Phiz’s invaluable work with us the past 11 seasons and congratulate him on a terrific career spanning six decades.”

Eisenberg, 27, previously was the play-by-play broadcaster with Kansas City’s Triple-A affiliate, the Omaha Storm Chasers, from 2020-22. During the 2022 season, he also called two Royals games, including&nbsp;Bobby Witt Jr.’s&nbsp;first career home run and&nbsp;MJ Melendez’s&nbsp;Major League debut. Additionally, he worked approximately 40 games for the Mets on WCBS 880 in New York.

The 2022 season marked his fifth season broadcasting Minor League Baseball (not including the 2020 season), including stops at Double-A Richmond (Giants) in 2019, High-A Winston-Salem (White Sox) in 2018 and Short-Season Brooklyn (Mets) in 2017. He was also part of the radio broadcast team for the Eastern League All-Star Game in 2019.

AUSTIN, Texas&nbsp;– The Kansas Jayhawks fell to No. 1 Texas 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 26-24) on Wednesday evening at Gregory Gymnasium.

Kansas moved to 17-9 (7-7 Big 12) with the setback, while Texas improved to 20-1 (13-1 Big 12).

The Jayhawk offense was led by redshirt freshman Ayah Elnady and super-senior Anezka Szabo with 10 kills apiece. Elnady and sophomore Camryn Turner recorded one ace each.

Graduate transfer Lauren Dooley led the defense with three total blocks, followed by super-senior Rachel Langs and Turner with two blocks.

Texas began set one with a service error to give Kansas the lead 1-0. The Longhorns were able to come back 3-1 before Szabo had the Jayhawks first kill of the night.

Kansas came within one point after a kill by Elnady, 4-3. KU was able to go on a 2-0 scoring run, highlighted with a kill by Szabo to keep the score close, 8-7. A double block by Langs and Elnady tied up the score at 10 apiece.

The Jayhawks called for a timeout at 13-10 following back-to-back-to-back kills by Texas. The Longhorns were able to break away from Kansas and go on a 3-0 run of their own, making it 16-11. A service error brought the ball back to KU and made it 16-12.

UT was the first team to reach 20 following their third service error of the night, and led 20-13. Dooley and Elnady kept the kills coming for KU as the Jayhawks closed the gap to five at 20-15. A kill by Szabo was the final point Kansas would earn before Texas closed out set one 25-16.

Set two started with two kills in a row by Texas for an early 2-0 lead. &nbsp;A Longhorns service error put KU on the board, 2-1. Elnady was able to earn the first Kansas kill for set two, putting the Jayhawks within one, at 3-2. An intense rally ended with a point for KU recorded by Elnady, pushing the score to 4-3.

Texas went on multiple 2-0 scoring runs before KU called a timeout at 10-5. A double block by sophomore London Davis and Dooley kept Kansas in the game at 10-6. The Jayhawks would find their rhythm and go on a 3-0 run with back-to-back kills by Elnady and Szabo followed by a bad set by Texas.

Kansas put on a show in another big rally ending in a kill by Langs, with Texas leading 16-13. The Longhorns were able to record their fourth service ace of the match before Kansas called a timeout at 19-14. Szabo halted a Texas scoring run with a kill, putting Kansas within five at 20-15.

Elnady was able to push past the Longhorns defense, tallying another kill. Not too long after, Texas finished set two on top 25-18.

Szabo opened set three with a kill to put KU on top 1-0. A service error by the Jayhawks tied up the set at one, but Langs recorded a kill for herself to give the Jayhawks a 2-1 lead. A double block by Dooley and Turner allowed Kansas to keep the momentum going at 6-3.

Turner was the first Jayhawk to get a service ace and made sure to keep KU on top, 8-4, before Texas called for a timeout. A kill by sophomore Caroline Bien and an attack error by UT moved the Jayhawks to a 10-5 lead.

The drive did not stop for Kansas as Szabo and Bien had back-to-back kills to continue the lead 13-7. Texas made a comeback to get within two points, 14-12.

After the Longhorns tied the score at 14, a kill by Bien was challenged by Texas. In the end, the call stood, and Kansas led 15-14. The advantage was short lived as Texas was able to regain the set during a 9-2 run, making the score 18-16.

MANHATTAN, Kan.&nbsp;– In the second meeting of the season with Oklahoma, K-State was unable to repeat the reverse sweep as the Sooners came away with a four-set victory at Bramlage Coliseum Wednesday night, 15-25, 23-25, 25-23, 23-25. Bean has thrown for at least 200 yards in five straight games with 14 TDs and four interceptions. Bean also has 222 yards and four TDs on the ground.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — For the first time this season, the Blue Dragons (7-0, 1-0) were held under 100 points.

The Dragons entered conference play against Independence (2-5, 0-1) averaging 121 points per game.

Hutchinson was without starter Ra'Sean Frederick (7.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg).

Indy took advantage of a starting lineup that was without its 6-foot-6 redshirt freshman guard with three players 6-foot-6 or taller.

The Pirates got an especially big day from Johan Nziemi, 34 points and nine rebounds. Nziemi and the Pirates pulled off highlight-reel dunk after highlight-reel dunk on their way to building a 15-point lead in the first five minutes.

Indy finished with 68 points in the paint.

The Dragons got another big day from Aaron Franklin, who finished with 36 points and 10 rebounds.

Franklin was one of four Dragons to reach double digits.

Kernan Bundy and Aaron Potter each added 13, while Jayden Garrison scored 11.

Potter's play off the bench helped spark some momentum in the first half after the Dragons fell behind. A Potter three with under a minute to go before the break pulled Hutchinson within 47-44.

The lead changed just once in the first half. Hutchinson scored within the first 39 seconds, then it was all Indy until Hutchinson inched within 49-46 at halftime.

The teams battled back and forth in the second half. The score was tied five times and the lead changed six times overall.

Much like the first half, Hutchinson used the waning moments of the second half to inch away. A Bundy three that banked off the window with 2:18 to play put Hutchinson up 95-90.

One minute later, Hutchinson forced Indy into its second 10-second backcourt violation of the game. The Pirates turned the ball over 24 times.

Hanging onto a 97-94 lead with less than 10 seconds to go, Hutchinson had to defend against not one, but two last-second three-point attempts that would have tied the game.

Two of Tavis Groomes three-point attempts on the night came within seconds of each other just before time expired. His first miss came back out to the corner on an offensive rebound, but his second attempt also failed to hit the mark.

Bundy was fouled on the rebound with 0.7 second left and hit both bonus free throws.

IRVING, Texas-Isaac Baldus (Special Olympics Iowa) and Kelli Bringle (Special Olympics Kansas) have been named 2022-23 Big 12 Special Olympics Athletes of the Year. They will be honored during the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship on Saturday, December 3 at AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Baldus has been an active athlete in a variety of sports from preschool into adulthood. His Special Olympics participation began in 2010, expanding his athletic skills in cycling, bowling, basketball, softball, powerlifting, and track and field. His specialties are the pentathlon in track and field; the deadlift, squat, and bench press in powerlifting; and playing catcher on his softball team. In 2017, Baldus was named State of Iowa High School Athlete of the Year, Special Olympics division. He has won over 50 medals in Special Olympic events at the state level. This past June, he had the honor of competing in the 2022 USA Games in powerlifting where he brought home two USA Games medals. Baldus earned his community college certificate from Des Moines Area Community College and works at HyVee. He is a member of the Liberty Landing Special Olympic Delegation. When he is not on the field or in the gym, he enjoys spending time with his friends at Liberty Landing, is passionate about cheering on his favorite WWE wrestlers, and adores entertaining his five nieces. Bringle has been involved in Special Olympics Kansas for&nbsp;23 years with the All Stars of&nbsp;Hutchinson. She was chosen as Most Inspirational Athlete in 2005 and was inducted into the Kansas Special Olympics Hall of Fame in 2018. She has participated in track and field, basketball, bowling, swimming, volleyball, and cheerleading, winning countless medals in each discipline. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Royals owner John Sherman says the team is considering several sites to build a replacement for the aging Kauffman Stadium. In a letter to fans posted on social media Tuesday, Sherman estimated the new stadium district could cost $2 billion. He says that would make it the most costly project in Kansas City history. Sherman bought the team in 2019. He announced last year the organization was considering options to replace Kauffman Stadium, which will be 60 years old when the team's lease ends at the end of the decade. Sherman said the sites under consideration are in downtown Kansas City or close to it.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Royals and first baseman Ryan O’Hearn agreed to a $1.4 million contract to avoid salary arbitration. It was one of several moves that set the club’s 40-man roster ahead of the deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 draft. O'Hearn hit just .239 with one homer and 16 RBIs while in 67 games while ceding playing time last season to Nick Pratto and Vinnie Pasquantino.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jalen Wilson scored a career-high 25 points and Gradey Dick made three crucial baskets in the final 2 1/2 minutes to lead No. 6 Kansas past No. 7 Duke 69-64. The defending national champions extended the nation’s longest active winning streak to 14 games. Wilson also grabbed 11 rebounds as coach Bill Self missed his third straight game because of a school-imposed suspension stemming from a 2017 infractions scandal. Duke was led by Kyle Filipowski, who scored a season-high 17 points and had 14 rebounds to become the first player in school history to register double-doubles in each of his first three games.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Grant Sherfield and Joe Bamisile scored 15 points apiece and Oklahoma breezed to a 74-53 victory over UNC Wilmington. Bamisile scored 12 in the first half to send Oklahoma (2-1) into the locker room with a 37-21 lead. Sherfield scored 12 in the second half to keep the Sooners in front. Sherfield added six assists. CJ Noland pitched in with 11 points for Oklahoma. Jalen Hill and Tanner Groves led all rebounders with nine each. Sports Headlines for Wednesday

With an undefeated regular season in jeopardy with less than 3 minutes remaining, Hutchinson Community College redshirt freshman linebacker&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2022-23/bios/hamilton-jordan_jermaine_p88u">Jermaine Hamilton-Jordan</a>&nbsp;came up with the biggest play of the game for the No. 1-ranked Blue Dragons.

Hamilton-Jordan blocked a punt, which was returned for a go-ahead touchdown with 2:38 remaining to lift the top-ranked Blue Dragons past No. 4 Iowa Western 29-28 on Saturday. Hamilton-Jordan was named the Jayhawk Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week.

Hutchinson trailed 28-17 with 8:11 to play in the fourth quarter. The Dragons still trailed 28-23 with less than 3 minutes to play.

After the Blue Dragons forced a key defensive stop and forced a Reiver punt, Hamilton-Jordan broke around the left end of the punt formation and blocked a Reiver punt that was scooped up at the 40 and returned for a go-ahead touchdown with 2:42 to play for a 29-28 lead.

After he blocked the punt, Hamilton-Jordan sprinted his way downfield and provided the final block to allow&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2022-23/bios/claytor_jaimelle_g9fn">Jaimelle Claytor</a>&nbsp;to score the touchdown.

Hamilton-Jordan also provided a tackle each on kickoff coverage and on punt coverage.

They haven't yet nailed down a specific spot, but said they have "several leading locations under close consideration."&nbsp;

 </figure>Once the A's either get a new ballpark in Oakland or leave for a new city, the only four ballparks older than Kauffman Stadium will be Fenway Park (<a href="https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/BOS/boston-red-sox/">Red Sox</a>, 1912), Wrigley Field (<a href="https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/CHC/chicago-cubs/">Cubs</a>, 1914), Dodger Stadium (1962) and Angel Stadium (1966).&nbsp;As for the ballpark district, here's a section of the letter that outlines the vision:&nbsp;<ul>
 <li>Our vision is to not just build a facility that does justice to the spirit of The K. We want to construct a world-class experience – a new ballpark district and all that comes with it – one that is woven into the fabric of our city, can host events and concerts, and boosts our local economy. &nbsp; We also envision incorporating our Kansas City fountains, the Royals' crown and our team's rich traditions and history in a new ballpark district.</li><li>The proposed ballpark district would become a new home for Royals fans far and wide – both inside a state-of-the-art ballpark and in the revitalized surrounding area. We will marry the traditions of The K with a better experience for our fans.</li><li>With a mixture of public and private investment, including our own intention to invest hundreds of millions of dollars directly into the ballpark and the ballpark district, the long-term vision remains a work-in-progress. We envision local restaurants and shops, office spaces, hotels, and a variety of housing opportunities accessible for Kansas Citians from all walks of life. Affordable housing options will be important to our efforts. We would also work closely with our local transportation leaders to ensure public transportation options accommodate a new ballpark district.</li>
 </ul>It'll be a while. It's nearly a decade down the road, but the biggest takeaway is that the Royals are planning on moving to a new home in the city sometime around 2030.&nbsp;
