⚾️ Salthawks split with Ike, earn first win

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Salthawk baseball team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday afternoon, splitting with Goddard Eisenhower. 
The Salthawks won the first game, 8-4 before falling in the second, 9-1. 
Hutchinson pushed across four runs in the third inning to lead 5-1. The Salthawks added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 8-3. 
The Salthawks offense was led by Bradyn Rodriguez who went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the game. Carter Morgan added a pair of hits, as well. Freshman Julian Lyons earns his first career win on the mound, going 4.1 innings and allowing just two hits and three runs. 
The Salthawks and Tigers were tied at one apiece in the second game through three innings in the second game. Eisenhower responded with five in the fourth and three more spaced throughout the final three innings to extend its lead. 
Caiden Beavers collected three of the four Salthawk hits in the game. 
Hutchinson will host Maize on Friday afternoon at Hobart-Detter Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
