KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have been in this situation before, ready to embark on a postseason run that the past four years has landed the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game and twice ended in the Super Bowl.

So it's easy to assume that the rest of the Chiefs are a hardened bunch of playoff veterans.

Only the three-win Chicago Bears had more games played by rookies than the Chiefs this season, and only four teams had more first-year players start games than Kansas City.

That includes defensive end George Karlaftis, who started all 17 of his games, and cornerback Trent McDuffie, who started each of the 11 games for which he was healthy.

In fact, each of the Chiefs' 10 draft picks was active for at least one game. Eight of them started at least once.

“I mean, it starts with the organization and the coaches. They’ve set a culture here," explained Mahomes, who at 27 years old is suddenly among the elder statesmen of the franchise.

“We have a lot of veterans on our team, and when you bring in new guys, you just show them by the way you act.”

Mahomes did his part with wide receiver Skyy Moore, inviting him to voluntary offseason workouts at his home in Texas. Moore responded by catching 22 passes for 250 yards while also contributing on special teams.

Defensive end Frank Clark likewise took Karlaftis under his wing in training camp, showing the first-round pick the nuances of the game. Karlaftis had six sacks, trailing only Aidan Hutchinson and James Houston for tops among rookies.

And safety Justin Reid was instrumental in helping along a group of defensive backs that includes four rookie cornerbacks and a rookie safety, all of whom have been on the field at the same time.

Jaylen Watson had a 99-yard pick-6 that helped Kansas City beat the Chargers in Week 2, and McDuffie, Josh Williams, Nazeeh Johnson and Bryan Cook all have had moments.

The fact that they were pressed into service so often means that, at least as far as Reid is concerned, they're no longer rookies at all as they prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday in the divisional round of the playoffs.

“They've had enough experience. They've had enough games under their belt,” Reid said. “They're first-year players but that title — ‘rookie’ — we really want to throw that out the window because of the experience and snaps under their belt.”

The Chiefs had 154 games played by their rookie class this season. Sixty-one times a rookie was in the starting lineup.

“I just went in yesterday again and spoke to the group and just let them know, ‘Hey, you’re at a point in the season that you’re not rookies any longer,’” added Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt.

“The guys have got to understand that it’s a faceless opponent every time. ... Technique-wise, you have to make sure you’re executing, and hopefully throughout the season you continue to get better. And that’s what they’ve done.”

It's not just on defense where rookies have shined either.

Moore was the most-touted offensive draft pick in Kansas City, and he's been helpful despite fumble problems that got him pulled from punt return duties.

But the breakout star has been seventh-round pick Isiah Pacheco, who has seemingly spent every game making every team pay for passing on him in those first six rounds.

Despite not starting the first six games, Pacheco has run for 830 yards and five touchdowns, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry. That's the fifth-best yardage total among rookies and his TD total is tied for second among first-year players.

The most impressive thing about Pacheco, and the rest of the Chiefs rookies, might be that they keep getting better.

“I’m not a big rookie wall believer-type deal. It’s professional football. This is your job,” Chiefs running backs coach Greg Lewis said with a shake of his head. “(Pacheco) has been playing football, as all the other rookies have too, their whole life.”

Never with these stakes, though. Mahomes was able to deal with the pressure; he's never lost in the divisional round of the playoffs as an NFL starter.

So have other players that have helped Kansas City reach four straight AFC title games.

Will their latest — and perhaps largest — group of first-year contributors manage to do the same?

Maher finally kicked one through the uprights on his fifth try, giving Dallas a 31-6 lead in the fourth quarter. The NFL said Maher was the first kicker to miss four extra points in a game since the statistic was first tracked for individual players in 1932.

Brady won’t be returning home to the Bay Area for a rematch against Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC divisional round. He may be going home for good, however. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage was taken off by stretcher late in the fourth quarter of a wild-card playoff game against Dallas. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said Gage had movement in his fingers. He was taken to a hospital with a concussion and was being evaluated for a neck injury. Gage was injured Monday night when he stumbled on a route, went to the ground, couldn’t make the catch and took a hard shot to the neck from Donovan Wilson. He appeared to try to get up but couldn’t and slammed his hand into the ground in frustration.

UNDATED (AP) — Jim Harbaugh is staying at Michigan, a decision he personally gave the school president on Monday to end another round of speculation that he would return to the NFL. Harbaugh says his heart is at the University of Michigan. Harbaugh and the school have not reached an agreement on a contract extension but both sides plan to work on a new deal this week, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because details of the negotiations were not announced.

🏀 KU still No. 2, K-State No. 13 in latest Top Twenty Five

We'll start with NFL football from yesterday three playoff games. It was Buffalo winning over Miami by a score of 34 to 31. The New York Giants upset Minnesota by a score of 31 to 24. It was the Cincinnati Bengals holding on to beat the Baltimore Ravens 24 to 17. Tonight, Dallas at Tampa. That will wrap up our first round of playoff games, 7:15 pm on ESPN. 

Chiefs Kingdome show  comes your way tonight from 7 to 8:00 on BW Radio Sports the Chiefs will talk about their matchup with now Jacksonville. That game has been set for a 3:30 kick off on NBC this coming Saturday. 

The  Georgia Bulldogs made a tragic announcement this weekend. Let's get the latest from CBS. 

"The University of Georgia  made several posts on social media announcing offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staff member Chandler Lacroix were killed in a car wreck. It happened just hours after the Bulldogs celebrated their second straight national championship with a parade and ceremony at Sanford Stadium. 

Two other members of the football program were also injured in the crash. They weren't identified, but the school says they're in stable condition. 

Police say their car hit two power poles and several trees after running off the road early Sunday. 

KU Football team secured two pivotal verbal transfer commitments over the weekend. LSU defensive back Demaryius McGee announcing his commitment via Instagram. 

The former four star recruit from Pensacola, Florida, spent two seasons at LSU and would have three seasons of eligibility remaining. KU's other weekend commitment on Sunday was from former Utah State linebacker Patrick Joyner Jr. Like McGee, he made the announcement via social media. He played two seasons with the Aggies, has one  year eligibility remaining.

Cole Beasley scored the go-ahead touchdown with a 6-yard catch, and Gabe Davis extended the lead to 34-24 with a 23-yard TD reception in a game where Buffalo squandered an early 17-0 lead. TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama basketball player Darius Miles and another man have been charged with capital murder after a fatal shooting near campus. Tuscaloosa Police Capt. Jack Kennedy said the shooting occurred early Sunday morning in The Strip off University Boulevard near campus. He said 23-year-old Jamea Harris of the Birmingham area was shot and killed. The 21-year-old Miles and 20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis of Charles County, Maryland, were both charged with capital murder. The university says Miles has been removed from the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide. He was a reserve forward.

(AP) — Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and a recruiting staff member have been killed in a car wreck hours after the Bulldogs celebrated their second straight national championship. The school announced their deaths and said two other members of the football program were injured in the crash. They were not immediately identified but the school said both were in stable condition. The 20-year-old Willock was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Chandler LeCroy, was transported to a hospital where she died from her injuries. She worked as a recruiting analyst for the Bulldogs.

It was the second odds-defying victory in as many games for WSU (9-8, 2-3 American), which also trailed by 14 last Sunday at South Florida before storming back. Tulsa (4-12, 0-5) made 9-of-13 threes in the opening half and scored on its first three possessions of the second half to go up 47-31 at the 18:26-mark. WSU quickly cut into the margin with a 15-2 run and moved in front for the first time with 1:11 to play when&nbsp;<a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/craig-porter-jr-/7213">Craig Porter Jr.</a>&nbsp;smothered a Sam Griffin jumper and fed ahead to Jarron Pierre Jr. for a transition layup and a 70-69 lead. The Shockers made just 2-of-17 threes but attacked the rim relentlessly down the stretch. They outscored the visitors 23-5 at the free throw line and 44-22 in the paint (converting 22-of-34 attempts from inside the lane). Tulsa finished at 46.6% -- a season-high for a WSU opponent – on 10-of-22 three-point shooting (.455) but made just 1-of-9 after halftime. The Shockers defense had a hand in that (literally), piling up seven second-half blocks. Griffin scored a game-high 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting for Tulsa. Tulsa (4-12, 0-5) made 9-of-13 threes in the opening half and scored on its first three possessions of the second half to go up 47-31 at the 18:26-mark. GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The first seven minutes Saturday belonged to HutchCC.&nbsp;

The final 33 minutes, however, were a different story.&nbsp;

The Dragons (12-6, 6-6) built a seven-point lead in the first seven minutes of play and looked to be in control at Conestoga Arena.&nbsp;

Aaron Franklin kept his hot streak going by hitting 4 of 7 field goals, including 2 of 3 three-pounters to start the contest. After one half of basketball, Franklin had 11 points.&nbsp;

Garden City matched Frankin with 6-8 forward Buru Naivalurua.

Naivalarua became the sixth player this season to score 30-plus points against the Dragons.&nbsp;

His teammate, DaJion Humphrey, was the fifth.&nbsp;

Humphrey and Naivalurua combined for 65 of Garden City's 117-point total.&nbsp;

Humphrey shot lights out and rarely missed. He hit 9-12 field goals, including 4-5 three-pointers, and made good on 13-16 free throws to finish with 35 points.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Naivalarua dropped a 30-piece and pulled down 12 rebounds, all whilst forcing Franklin to 2-7 shooting (five points) in the second half.&nbsp;

The Chargers built a 27-0 lead late in the second quarter after Lawrence threw four interceptions, including three by Asante Samuel. The second-year pro then responded by throwing four TD passes and Riley Patterson kicked a 36-yard field goal as time expired for the win.

Lawrence's heroics might have overshadowed Purdy's stellar playoff debut for the 49ers.

The rookie completed 18 of 30 passes for 332 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions to win his sixth consecutive start. The 262nd — and final — pick of last spring's draft out of Iowa State, Purdy's unlikely story started when he was pushed into action after an injury in December to starter Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Seahawks led 17-16 and kept things close through most of three quarters, but the 49ers poured it on late.

The No. 1 overall seed in the AFC was claimed by Kansas City with its 31-13 win over Las Vegas in Week 18. The NFC's top spot was taken by Philadelphia,&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/philadelphia-eagles-new-york-giants-sports-jalen-hurts-nfl-football-a80233e214f9e1b60db676bd2e5b6342">which beat the Giants 22-16</a>. Those teams get the weekend off before playing in the divisional round next weekend.

Seven of the 14 teams in this year’s playoffs didn’t make the field last season, giving the NFL’s wild-card weekend a mix of traditional powerhouses and underdogs.

Players and fans watched in horror on Jan. 2&nbsp;as Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed&nbsp;on the field at Cincinnati when his heart stopped and he received CPR before leaving the field in an ambulance. Over the next week, those same players and fans&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/new-england-patriots-buffalo-bills-sports-nfl-football-damar-hamlin-47dc11b56ec33560542cd3847db4de45">reacted with joy</a>&nbsp;at news of Hamlin's recovery.

Even better news came Saturday:&nbsp;Hamlin visited with teammates&nbsp;at the Bills’ facility for the first time since being discharged from a Buffalo hospital.

A person with direct knowledge of Hamlin’s schedule confirmed to The Associated Press the player’s visit. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because Hamlin has kept his schedule and recovery private.

Hamlin's remarkable recovery has made it much easier to focus on the playoffs.

The cancellation of the Bills-Bengals game because of Hamlin's injury could lead to one big change to the AFC playoff format.

The AFC championship game would be played at a neutral site if the Chiefs and Bills reach that point under a rule adjustment approved by NFL owners last Friday. That's because Buffalo (13-3) played one fewer game than Kansas City (14-3) and missed out on a chance to earn the top seed. (AP) — Trevor Lawrence followed four interceptions with four touchdown passes — one of the most improbable turnarounds in NFL postseason history — and rallied the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 31-30 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Lawrence engineered the winning drive, highlighted by Travis Etienne's 25-yard run on a fourth-and-1 play, and put the Jaguars in position for Riley Patterson's 36-yard field goal on the final play. It capped a 27-point comeback, the third largest in playoff history. Purdy's 4 TDs lead 49ers past Seahawks 41-23 in playoffs

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Brock Purdy threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth score in his playoff debut, leading the San Francisco 49ers to a 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in a wild-card game. Purdy picked up where he left off in the regular season for the 49ers and showed few signs of playoff jitters by winning his sixth straight start since replacing an injured Jimmy Garoppolo early in a Week 13 win over Miami. The Niners advanced to the divisional round where they will host either Minnesota, Tampa Bay or Dallas next weekend. The Seahawks kept it close before a strip sack by Charles Omenihu late in the third quarter spoiled a red zone drive.

NFL playoffs: Saturday night thriller gets action started

The rest of the NFL playoffs have a lot to live up to after Saturday's display. Rookie Brock Purdy nailed his postseason debut with the San Francisco 49ers with a 41-23 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off a jaw-dropping 27-point comeback in a 31-30 stunner against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night. The games continue with three more Sunday including Miami at Buffalo, Baltimore at Cincinnati and the New York Giants at Minnesota. The opening weekend wraps up Monday night with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Damar Hamlin visited with teammates at the Bills' facility on Saturday for the first time since being discharged from a Buffalo hospital. The visit came 12 days after the Bills safety went into cardiac arrest and needed to be resuscitated on the field during a game in Cincinnati. Bills linebacker Matt Milano posted a photo on his Instagram account of a smiling Hamlin shaking hands with a teammate. A person with direct knowledge of Hamlin's schedule confirmed to The Associated Press the player's visit. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because Hamlin has kept his schedule and recovery private.

Morant says sensational slam in Indy was his best one yet

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — To Ja Morant, the answer was a slam dunk. His ferocious jam Saturday night was his best one yet. Morant's dunk came in the third quarter of the Memphis Grizzlies' 130-112 victory over the Indiana Pacers. He drove left into the middle of the lane, put the ball in his right hand and pulled his arm far back to easily throw it down over leaping Pacers big man Jalen Smith. He says it topped his collection of sensational slams because of the difficulty. Teammates leaped off the bench in excitement and reaction followed quickly on social media. Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell urged Morant to do the slam dunk contest.

Buckley makes a pair of eagles and leads the Sony Open

HONOLULU (AP) — Hayden Buckley has a two-shot lead in the Sony Open as he goes after his first PGA Tour victory and a spot in the Masters. It took a lot to get there. Buckley holed out from 133 yards for eagle on No. 10. And then he finished with an eagle on the par-5 18th. That gives him a two-shot lead over Chris Kirk, Ben Taylor and David Lipsky. He also has a little separation. That didn't look possible at one point Saturday because eight players were tied for the lead. Andrew Putnam had a 62 and was three shot back.

Jon Jones to headline UFC 285 in heavyweight title fight

LAS VEGAS (AP) — UFC President Dana White announced Jon Jones will fight for the heavyweight title March 4 against Ciryl Gane in Las Vegas. That fight is the headline event for UFC 285. White said he offered former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou the richest deal for a heavyweight in UFC history to fight Jones. White said Ngannou turned down the offer, so White turned to Gane. Jones will make his first appearance since February 2020 when he beat Dominick Reyes to defend his light heavyweight championship.

Detroit Mercy's Davis sets NCAA career 3-point record

DETROIT (AP) — Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy set the NCAA record for career 3-pointers on Saturday, hitting a career-best 11 3s and scoring a season-high 41 points in an 87-75 win over Robert Morris. Davis shot 11 for 18 from long distance and was 15 for 26 overall. His 11 3-pointers increased his career total to 513, eclipsing the previous record of 509 by Fletcher Magee of Wofford from 2014-19. Davis entered the game chasing Magee and Oakland's Travis Bader (504 3s from 2010-14). The 24-year-old Davis has 3,232 career points, good for third in NCAA history. He is 17 points away from second place and 435 points behind Pete Maravich's NCAA record of 3,667.

Calipari, Kentucky silence doubters, beat No. 5 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Antonio Reeves scored 18 points and Oscar Tshiebwe had 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead Kentucky to a 63-56 victory over No. 5 Tennessee on Saturday. Kentucky led 58-50 with 3:28 left in the game. Two free throws by Santiago Vescovi and two buckets by Uros Plavsic closed the gap to two with less than a minute to play. A Wildcat turnover gave Tennessee a shot to tie or take the lead, but Zakai Zeigler and Plavsic missed down low. The Wildcats showed a physical presence and dominated the Volunteers on the boards. Plavsic scored 19 points for Tennessee.

Kansas falls to 12-4 on the season and 2-3 in league play, while Oklahoma improves to 14-2 (4-1 Big 12) on the year.

The Jayhawks rushed out to a 24-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and led by as many as 12 early in the second quarter. KU was limited to 11 points in the second quarter, but held the Sooners to 13 and took a 35-28 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Oklahoma slowly cut into the Jayhawks lead in the third quarter, before tying the game at 43-all on a three-pointer from Skylar Vann. The Sooners would later take a 46-45 lead, their first since the first quarter, and the rest of the quarter saw two lead changes and four ties, including at 53-53 at the end of the frame.

OU opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run to build a 64-57 lead, but the Jayhawks had a response as Mia Vuksic sparked a 5-0 run with a three-pointer which helped get KU back within two at 64-62. Oklahoma answered with the next 10 points and outscored KU 16-12 the rest of the way to close out the game.

Kansas was led by Wyvette Mayberry, who matched a season-high with 20 points, while Zakiyah Franklin had 15 points and Ioanna Chatzileonti totaled 10 points and eight rebounds. Taiyanna Jackson led the Jayhawks with 13 rebounds and four blocked shots in addition to eight points. Holly Kersgieter also had nine points and seven rebounds.

The Jayhawks had a better shooting percentage, going 37.5% (25-of-68) from the field, but OU had two more made field goals and hit nine three-pointers. KU had a scoring advantage of 42-to-30 in the paint, but the Jayhawks were outrebounded 57-to-44 and OU had 21 assists compared to five for the Jayhawks.

And boy, a ton of missed assignments today I couldn't even, you're always gonna have some right, you're always gonna have some and you cover them up with efforts or cover them up with this, but I mean it was you could just see that mentally they their focus was elsewhere." On the energy level tonight… "I think our confidence level is a big impact on on our energy level. So you know when you're a team that's trying to figure it out, &nbsp;you got to fight your thoughts getting strayed. As an athlete, you gotta fight that especially, &nbsp;I'm a big baseball guy and when hitters go through slumps they're thinking so much, they're thinking so much that they forget so they try to get back to the mechanics, they try to get back to the mechanics and about the time they do they hit a line drive right at somebody, right? Yeah, I mean, Bre'Amber has been a good player. She scores at three levels. If you let her do what she did today, she's going to have big games. If you're not assignment correct and I can go over all the things that just as I talked about earlier, I thought early on Shavers, they did a good job. She was on the back end of a lot of plays and they did a good job of skipping it to her, finding her and she got hot, and then she played really well after that. So, you know, confidence is a is a great thing. Shavers really grew in confidence as the game wore on today, and she was a problem." KRISTA GERLICH, TEXAS TECH HEAD COACH Opening Statement… "Huge, huge road win for us today in a place that I think is really difficult to play, and I have so much respect for Jeff Mitte and what he does. I thought that our kids came out and just played with a lot of fight, with a lot of effort. They played with a lot of poise and they just really followed a game plan to a tee and just really proud of just the consistency that they played with. We've played pretty well at times in the Big 12 up until now but I thought this was our best 40 minutes by far. And a lot of it had to do with this senior right here, just being in the zone of just being an attack mode, playing within herself, playing great defense and just doing whatever we asked her to do, but we had lots of kids step up today and really, really proud of this win." We really needed this win tonight and I feel like everybody contributed and played great. Kilah Freelon came in and did great, like as a freshman. Coach has been lifting her up, telling her to just keep doing what she's doing and she came in and she really put it into the game plan today. So I'm really happy for her." On back-to-back road wins… "It's really important especially to win on the road. Everybody wants to protect their house so for us to come in and get two back-to-back raod wins. That is huge. We have to keep it going use momentum and taking into our next game. And yeah, just keep it going. But it was huge for us." 🏀 WBB: K-State felled by hot-shooting Lady Raiders

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Eddie Lampkin Jr. slammed both of his hands on the court after a layup during TCU's early go-ahead run, doing his best to work the home fans into more of a frenzy. All of his inside baskets helped, too.

Lampkin scored a season-high 17 points, including back-to-back layups on passes from Mike Miles Jr. in another big burst, and the 17th-ranked Horned Frogs beat No. 11 Kansas State 82-68 on Saturday to end the Wildcats' nine-game winning streak.

“I've been telling them I've been open. Now they're trusting me,” the 6-foot-11, 263-pound Lampkin said of his teammates. “They're trusting me better, and my confidence is getting better every game.”

Emanuel Miller scored 23 points and Miles had 13 points with 11 assists for the Frogs (14-3, 3-2 Big 12), who were coming off back-to-back losses after an 11-game winning streak of their own. Damion Baugh added 11 points.

“I wasn't making shots early, so you've got to do something else to affect the game,” said Miles, who entered as the Big 12's second-leading scorer at 19.5 points a game.

Kansas State (15-2, 4-1) had gone from unranked to the verge of the top 10 after winning three consecutive games against Top 25 teams. The Wildcats beat Oklahoma State in their first home game as a ranked team in four years on Tuesday, then jumped out to a 11-6 lead in their first road game before Lampkin and TCU took over.

Keyontae Johnson had 18 for the Wildcats, who trailed by as many as 25 points midway through the second half before a late surge when Markquis Nowell scored 14 of his 16 points in the final 5 1/2 minutes. Nowell was coming four consecutive 20-point games.

“Panic about what?” first-year Wildcats coach Jerome Tang said, responding to a question postgame. “I don’t know our record, but I know we have two losses. There’s nothing to panic about. I’ve got a veteran group. I’ve got a bunch of winners in a locker room, both on the staff and on the team. And this is the Big 12.”

Lampkin had back-to-back layups on passes from Miles during TCU’s second 13-2 run before halftime. He took an inbound pass from Miles, who then stole the ball from Nowell and was in the lane when he made a leaping no-look pass to Lampkin for another layup to make 32-21.

It was during their earlier 13-2 run, which took the Frogs from a five-point deficit to leading for good, when Lampkin followed his layup with his hand-banging on the floor. He finished 6-of-7 shooting with a dunk and five layups.

Kansas State: The Wildcats shot 43.1% (28 of 65), but had 20 turnovers, including seven by Johnson and six by Nowell — both season highs. K-State was down 22 and Nowell had only two points before a 3-pointer with 5 1/2 minutes left that he followed with two quick layups.

TCU: The Frogs played their fourth consecutive Top 25 opponent, and split those games. The two losses were by a combined six points, 69-67 at home to Iowa State before they blew an 18-point lead in a 79-75 loss at No. 10 Texas.

TCU outscored the Wildcats 32-13 on fast-break points, some of that while turning K-State’s turnovers into 26 points.

“We really got to the aggressiveness and the team defense going and that’s where we got the turnovers and the transition once again,” TCU coach Jamie Dixon said. “It’s kind of fun when you spend all summer working on something you want to get better and it comes to fruition.”

Kansas State won't move into the top 10 for the first time since March 2013, but the Wildcats will still be solidly ranked in the new poll Monday. The Frogs were unchanged after a loss last week, and may be that way again when they will be ranked for the seventh consecutive poll.

Kansas State hosts second-ranked defending national champion Kansas on Tuesday night.

TCU is on road twice next week, at West Virginia on Wednesday before playing at Kansas on Saturday.
