⚾️ Monarchs host Newton for home finale

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs close out their home portion of its schedule tonight against the Newton Rebels. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Hobart-Detter Field. 
The Monarchs beat the Rebels on Saturday night, 9-2 in the series opener. The Monarchs dropped a 17-6 affair to the Kingman Islanders in a non-league game on Sunday. 
Hutchinson (16-16) is 2-2 against Newton this summer. The Monarchs are just a half game back of the Kansas Cannons in the second half standings in the Jayhawk Collegiate League standings. 
Although Monday is the final home game of the summer, the Monarchs will have four games left in the regular season this week. Hutchinson will travel to Kingman for a three-game series against the Islanders Wednesday through Friday and then the regular season finale will take place in Derby on Saturday against the Twins.
