James Lee Bogner, 64, of Burrton, died August 12, 2021, at Harry Hynes Hospice, in Wichita. He was born October 3, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Vernon and Donna Block (Bogner).
James graduated from Haven High School in 1974 and went on to attend Hutchinson Community College to study engineering and music. He was a talented trumpet player and traveled to Europe with tour group of musicians. James was a farmer, and engineer in the agriculture industry, and worked part time at the Moundridge Post Office. He served on the Reno County Drainage District No. 2 board, as well as the Valley Township Cemetery board. James enjoyed woodworking in his early years.
On April 7, 1990, he married Karilynn French in Haven. They shared 31 years of marriage.
James is survived by: his wife, Karilynn Bogner, Burrton; daughter, Stacey; son-in-law; grandchildren; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Tama Sue.
Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Valley Township Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
