Pratt - Marlene Ford, 89, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing. She was born on September 29, 1931 in Isabel, Kansas to Stanley J and Jessie (Bell) Swinson. Marlene married Floyd "Smokey" Ford on December 31, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2011.
Marlene was a member of First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi and BPOE Elks Lodge #1451. She enjoyed reading, traveling and following sporting events.
She is survived by her sons, Eldon (Brenda) Ford of Pratt and Steven Todd Ford of St. John; son in-law, Chris Cannon of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Michael E. Ford of Brooklyn, New York, Ryan E. (Brittany) Ford of Pratt, Cameron T. Ford of Lawrence, Cassie J. Mardis of Pratt, Jessica K. Cannon of Hutchinson and Christopher Todd (Alisha) Cannon of Gunter, Texas; Great grandchildren, Blair Victoria Cannon, Davis Ford Cannon, Bailee Farr, Breane (Matt) Thayne, Brooke Farr and Dani Farr; great-great grandchild, Taylee Farr; and sister, Maribel (John) Ford of Maize.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd "Smokey" Leon Ford; daughter, Jana D Cannon; brother, Bobby Ray Swinson; and infant sister, Rosmary Swinson.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary. Inurnment will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
