Carol E Lambert, 83, of Hutchinson, passed April 22, 2022, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born July 13, 1938, to Arthur and Thelma (Byron) Wipf.

Carol graduated from Nickerson High School in 1956, Hutchinson Community College in 1958, and Sterling College in 1966. She was a teacher at Burrton for three years and at Nickerson for 34 years.

On August 8, 1958, Carol married Ronald Sherman Lambert, in Hutchinson. Together they had one son. Ronald passed away July 11, 2004.

Carol is survived by: son, Sherman Lambert (Sandy), Hutchinson; granddaughter, Rebecca Baetz (Kenton), Smith Center; grandsons, Joshua Lambert (Lana), Inman, Robert Luce (Traci), Wichita, Kenneth Luce (Traci), Hutchinson; seven great-grandchildren, Kaden and Brysen Baetz, Dalton, Devin, Makayla, Amelia, and Peyton Luce; sisters, Rheta Carter, Dinah McHome, both of Bakersfield, California, Charlotte Finical, Arizona; and brother, Byron Wipf.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and great-grandson, Cole Garrett Luce.

Graveside service will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Orva Jean Wolfe, 96, died April 23, 2022, at Wesley Towers.&nbsp; She was born February&nbsp;24, 1926, in Otis, the daughter of Ben and Dena (Hergert) Scheuerman.

Orva Jean graduated from La Crosse High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fort Hays State, in 1948. &nbsp;While at Fort Hays, she met, fell in love, and was united in marriage with Charles (Jack) Wolfe January 24, 1947, in Bazine. They were blessed with two children, Kent and Kathy Jo.

Orva Jean was a devoted wife and homemaker to her children. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Bolinger Agency in Bucklin, Curtis Machine Company of Dodge City, and retired as a bookkeeper at Bucklin Co-op in 1988.&nbsp; She also belonged to several Federated clubs in Bucklin and the Bucklin UMW, where she served as secretary&nbsp;for many years.&nbsp;

In 2007, she moved to Hutchinson to be closer to family. Orva Jean’s biggest enjoyment was spending time with family, especially her grandson, Dakota, and watching him grow up to be a caring&nbsp;soul like herself.&nbsp;

While in Hutchinson Orva Jean resided at Wesley Towers. She enjoyed her time there, made many dear friends, and was loved by all.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Orva Jean is survived&nbsp;by: son, Kent Wolfe and wife, Sonya; grandson, Dakota Wolfe, all of Hutchinson; and a brother, Paul Scheuerman, of Otis.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ben and Dena Scheuerman; husband, Charles; daughter, Kathy Jo Wolfe; and brother, Gail Scheuerman.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Twilah’s life began on September 16, 1939, in Chicago. She was the daughter of Chester E. and Minnie M. (Johnson) Hood. 

Twilah attended primary school in Chicago and graduated from East High School in Wichita in 1957.  She then attended Municipal College in Wichita for two years and worked as a customer service representative for Bell Telephone before she met the love of her life Rodney Williams in 1962. 

Twilah and Rodney were united in marriage on February 23, 1963, at the Zion United Methodist Church in Wichita. Rodney had started Williams Service, Inc., the family business, in 1962 and he and Twilah have operated the business ever since. Twilah was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church and for many years organized the vacation Bible school and volunteered in many positions to serve the church. She was the past president of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, and past treasurer of the Florence Historical Society. She helped to organize the Florence Labor Day parades, raised funds for the city pool and senior housing project. Twilah was also an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and travelling. 

Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of 59 years, Rodney Williams of Florence; children Stephanie Williams of Wichita, and Stan (Karen) Williams of Marion; grandchildren Chase Williams, Kayla Williams, Colin (Emily) Williams, Nick (Jami) Ryan, Frank (Chloe) Ryan, Emily Hutchison and Cooper Bailey; great grandchildren Elizabeth, Brantley, Kamber and Kenlee Williams, and Grayson, Callum, and Willow Ryan; and her sister Mavis Percifield of Wichita.

Twilah’s family will gather with friends on Thursday April 28th from 5-7 p.m. at the Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion. Her funeral service will be held on Friday April 29th at the Florence United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. led by Reverend Stephen W. Rankin, PhD. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.

Edna Ruth Graber, 98, died on April 25, 2022, in Schowalter Villa, Hesston, surrounded by her family.&nbsp; Edna Ruth was born on July 12, 1923, in Newton, to Henry S. and Mathilda Wedel Goertzen.&nbsp; She grew up on West Broadway in Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1941.&nbsp; For three years she attended Bethel College, where she met her husband, Marlo Graber.&nbsp; They were married September 8, 1944, and settled on a farm five miles from Hesston. This was their home for 64 years.

Together they farmed and raised a family. After the last of her children started school, she worked at various places, including the Ratzlaff Drapery factory, at Hesston High School as cleaning matron, and finally at her favorite job, being the first ward clerk at Axtell Hospital in Newton. She was an active member of her community and her church, always serving with unwavering generosity and enthusiasm.

In 2008 Marlo and Edna Ruth sold their farm and moved to Independent Living at Schowalter Villa.&nbsp; After Marlo died in 2009, Edna Ruth continued to live independently until March 2019, when she moved into Assisted Living. She transferred to Health Care in the fall of 2019.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlo; daughter Ruthie Hawkins; grandson Joel Graber; son-in-law Tom Trout; and sister Helen Bachman.

She is survived by her children Carolyn Trout, Joplin, MO; Dale (Sharon), Bluffton, SC; Dean (Barbara), Goodland; Steve (Cindy), Dodge City; and Vonnie (Doug) Moden, Colorado Springs, CO; Grandchildren Marissa Hawkins, Hopkinton, MA; Morgan Graber, Wellington, FL; Holly Straight, Dodge City; and Christian Moden, Colorado Springs, CO; Great-grandchildren Brooklynn, Grayson, and Easton Straight, Dodge City; and brother Irvin, Goessel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 107 S. Lancaster Ave, Hesston, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 29.&nbsp; There will be a private interment at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Garden Community Church, with reception following.

She was a stay at home mom and she also cared for lots of foster children. She went to work for Cross Manufacturing. Retiring after 25 years in 2012. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Iuka, KS. Donna's hobbies were gardening and painting. She loved to grow, plants and flowers in her garden, enjoying many hours there. She also enjoyed bird watching. She enjoyed watching KU Basketball. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Father William Mark Brantley, 67, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 surrounded by his family and friends at the Priest Retirement Center in Bel Aire.

Father Brantley was born on December 21, 1954 in Waltham, MA, to father David Brantley, an agent for the FBI and his mother Verna (Lowry) Brantley, a homemaker.

Father Brantley was a proud 1977 graduate of Baylor University at Waco, TX. He received his Masters of Business Administration at the University of South Dakota. He is also graduated from the Marine Corp Command and Staff College and the Air Force Command Staff College. He entered the Air Force following graduation. Father Brantley followed in his father’s footsteps in law enforcement by becoming an Air Force Security Forces officer. In December 1980, Father Brantley entered pilot training. Upon graduation, he flew the EC-135 “Looking Glass” for Strategic Air Command at Ellsworth AFB SD. His next assignment was Castle AFB CA where he was a KC-135A instructor/evaluator pilot. He left the Active Duty and joined the Air Force Reserves in 1991. He flew with the 437 Air Refueling Wing Grissom ARB, IN and his final assignment was with the 931ST Air Refueling Group, McConnell AFB.

Father Brantley served his country for over 26 years with multiple tours in Europe and Southwest Asia conducting operations during the Cold War and the Global War on Terrorism. He flew over 7000 hours while receiving four Meritorious Service Medals, an Air medal, Joint Commendation Medal and four Air Force Commendation Medals. After retiring from the Air Force, Father Brantley flew for Airborne Express until he retired from flying in 2009.

Father Brantley converted to Catholicism in 2006 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He served in several church ministries including the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight. He heard the call to service as a priest and entered the seminary of Pope St John XXIII National Seminary at Weston, MA. He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in June 2017 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City. He served as the Associate Pastor at St Dominic in Garden City until 2018. His final pastoral assignment was as the pastor of Holy Rosary (Medicine Lodge), St. Boniface (Sharon) and St John the Apostle (Kiowa KS).

Father Brantley is survived by his brother Dr. Scott Brantley, sister Susan Brantley, sister-in-law Peggy Dolinich, niece Courtney Brantley and nephew Matthew Brantley. Father Brantley was preceded in death by his father David Brantley and mother Verna Brantley. Jerry Edward Garten, 67, of Medicine Lodge, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 3, 1954 in Cherokee, OK, the son of Billy Franklin Garten and Betty Jane (Harbaugh) Garten. Jerry graduated from Medicine Lodge High School and attended Kansas State University and Pratt Community College. He worked at National Gypsum as a wet end leader and farmed with his parents. Jerry frequently had a joke for the day he liked sharing with others. His favorite hobby was fishing. Surviving are one sister, Nancy (Steve) Carr of Olathe; one nephew, Shane (Stacey) Carr of Medicine Lodge; and one niece, Stephanie (Nick) Babcock of Haslet, TX. He enjoyed his grandnephews and grandnieces, remembering them on birthdays and Christmas. Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.

Jerry frequently had a joke for the day he liked sharing with others. His favorite hobby was fishing. Surviving are one sister, Nancy (Steve) Carr of Olathe; one nephew, Shane (Stacey) Carr of Medicine Lodge; and one niece, Stephanie (Nick) Babcock of Haslet, TX. He enjoyed his grandnephews and grandnieces, remembering them on birthdays and Christmas. Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.

Ross Michael Scheffler was born on March 31, 1949, in Newton, to parents Art and Catherine Scheffler. 

Ross was an outdoorsman,&nbsp;&nbsp;and enjoyed hunting and fishing from a young age. He especially enjoyed hunting with his Dad, brother and uncles. Ross loved to bow hunt and was an excellent marksman. Ross attended St. Mary’s grade school and&nbsp;&nbsp;graduated from Newton High School in 1967. He was a wrestler for NHS and followed the sport for years. He joined the Marine Corp after high school&nbsp;&nbsp;and served his country in Vietnam. After leaving the Marines, Ross returned&nbsp;&nbsp;to college and graduated from Washburn University.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ross worked at various corporations in and around Newton and Wichita. 

In 1973 Ross married Janet Custer and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Stacy and Angela. Both daughters currently live in Florida. Ross liked to play cards and read. He always loved cars and motorcycles and had two classic cars in his early years that he was proud of: a 1957 Chevy and a 1965 Corvette Stingray. He also loved his Kawasaki motorcycle.&nbsp;&nbsp;He had experienced health issues over the past several years which prevented&nbsp;&nbsp;him from walking and working out like he wanted to. He is survived by his two daughters , Stacy Zahn and Angela Hackley (John) and two Grandchilden Brady and Lauren Zahn, and one brother, Leon Scheffler (Lisa) of Southlake, TX, two sisters, Barb Schuster of Lee’s Summit, MO and Jody (Doug) Meier of Phoenix, AZ. He was an uncle to 2 nephews and 4 nieces. He was a great-uncle to 4 great nieces and 4 great nephews.

Our Loving father, Donald “Don” William Gibbens of Newton, passed away April 20, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, at the age of 72. He was born in Newton, on July 30, 1949 to William Earl Gibbens and Lillie Adger Franklin. 

Don was the 3rd&nbsp;generation of the Gibbens family to be born in Newton. He was the youngest of two children, his parents were also guardians of his Uncle Butch (David) so they grew up like brothers. He spent his childhood working on cars with his dad, especially Mopars!! Don grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1968. 

Don married Carol Eda Auernheimer in Hesston, March 25, 1972. Don and Carol were blessed with three sons, Scot, Jason and Allan. They would later divorce. Throughout his working career he held several positions working at Koehn and Associates as a mechanic and maintenance man, a school bus driver for USD 373 and worked at The Newton, Kansan part time. In the 1990’s he was the supervisor of the Railroad Taxi Service for Santa Fe Railroad, (now BNSF), at the Newton Rail Yard. He also did Janitorial work at Hesston Middle School and later worked for Kansas Electric before retiring in 2012.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

He loved Model Railroading having received his first Lionel train set at the age of 5. For eight years Don and his friend Angie Smith set up a train display for the Chisholm Trail Festival in Athletic Park. In his retirement years, he worked on and repaired computers and had a houseful of pets!

Don is survived by his Ex-wife, Carol Gaeta of Newton; three sons, Scot and Crystal Gibbens of North Newton; Jason Gibbens of Moorefield, WV; and Allan Gibbens of Newton. A sister, Dorothy Bryant of Temple, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and uncle Butch (David) Gibbens.

Jake was born on December 1, 1936, at Camp 45, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jacob H. and Lena (Koehn) Goertzen.&nbsp; On September 25, 1960, Jake was united in marriage to Anne Louise Nikkel in Inman.&nbsp;

He was a member of Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Inman.

Survivors include: his wife, Anne; five children, Sandra (Leonard) Nightingale of Trumann, AR; Wanda (Chris) Koehn of Hume, MO; Luanne (Merle) Ensz of Inman; Lance (Karlene) Goertzen of Inman; and June (Brian) Schmidt of Trumann, AR; a foster daughter, Vonnie (Jamie) Cordell of Wichita; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Becker of Moundridge; Cornelius (Verla) Goertzen of Mortons Gap, KY;&nbsp; Herman (Jewel) Goertzen of Inman; and David (Jolene) Goertzen of Lakin; sisters-in-law, Verna Goertzen of Barron, WI; and Grace (Loren) Wiebe of Almena, WI; and brother-in-law, James (Susanna) Nikkel of Pipestone, MN.

Karen Kay Gillespie, 81, of Sterling, went home to be with her Lord on April 21, 2022, at The Arbors at Waldron Place, Hutchinson, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 25, 1940, in Lyons, the daughter of Wilson “Bud” and Mary Ann Nienke Wynn. 

Karen has resided in Sterling since 1973, formerly of Chase and Lyons. She graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1958. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Hutchinson and a longtime member of the Sterling Bowling League. 

On June 21, 1958, Karen was united in marriage with John C. Gillespie in Lyons. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1979. After John’s death, Karen became president and bookkeeper for G &amp; L Well Service in Sterling for the next 32 years. Karen is survived by her four sons, John Gillespie and wife Mary of Sterling, Dan Gillespie and wife Lori of Sterling, Mark Gillespie and wife Bonnie of Sterling, and Chris Gillespie and wife Emily of Alden; brother, Ken Wynn and wife Bev of Wichita; sister, Julie Magyar and husband Mike of Hutchinson; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, David; and an infant daughter, Mary.

Boyd E. Hendricks, 79, of Alden, passed away April 21, 2022, at Sterling Village, Sterling. He was born February 3, 1943, in Sterling, the son of Delbert E. and Dilcy Ellen Royer Hendricks. 

Boyd was a near lifelong Alden resident. He graduated from Alden High School. Boyd served in the United States Army from July 30, 1963 until his honorable discharge on June 30, 1969. He worked for Northern Natural Gas near Lyons, for over 30 years, retiring on January 31, 2005. Boyd was a member of the Alden Baptist Church and a member of the Sterling American Legion Post #128. He served on the Council on Aging Board in Alden and helped with commodities. Boyd enjoyed working in his shed, yard work and gardening. He loved listening to the RFD music station and taking his dogs for a ride in his pickup every day. 

On July 13, 1967, Boyd was united in marriage with Thu Nguyet in Vietnam; they resided in Alden. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2020. He is also preceded in death by his parents; son, Hiep Vu; brother, Randall Hendricks; sister, Daisyann Anderson; and brother, Floyd Hendricks. Boyd is survived by his son, James “Jim” Hendricks of Houston, TX; two daughters, Janny Hendricks of Alden, and Thuy “Twee” Hendricks of San Francisco, CA; and four grandchildren, Paxton Hendricks and Robert Hendricks both of Cypress, TX; Joshua Ortiz of Ft. Collins, CO; and Dana Vu of Bessemer, AL.

Lorene Oak, 89, died April 24, 2022 at her home at Penalosa after years of bravely battling dementia.

She was born Jan. 19, 1933, at Langdon, the daughter of Ralph and Arbrie Goff Barr.&nbsp; A lifetime resident of the Penalosa community, she was a homemaker.

Lorene was a member of the United Methodist Church and UMW, both of Penalosa; was a former 4-H leader; and was an election board volunteer.

On May 27, 1951, she married Melvin E. Oak at Penalosa; he died March 25, 1996.&nbsp; Survivors include son Eugene “Bud” and wife Connie; daughters Zella Jacobs, Cindy Baker and husband Stan and Julie Price and husband Mitch; sisters Pat Warta and Clella DiOrio; grandchildren Kenny (Misty) Jacobs, David Kienzle, Brandy (Mark) Illausky, Ben (Maria) Oak, Clara (Garth) Gebhard, Dennis Baker, and Brittany (Tyler) Esposito; and 16 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

She was also preceded in death by brothers Nelson and Clarence Barr.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Lerado Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Livingston Funeral Home.

Daniel Edwin McGraw, 68, died April 17, 2022, at his home. He was born November 18, 1953, in Pratt, to Anthony D. “Tony” and Janice L. (Northrop) McGraw.

Daniel graduated from Partridge High School in 1971. He owned his own business, Freedom Lawn Care, for many years. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, and skydiving. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On July 24, 1976, Daniel married Saengduan Meechaicum. They later divorced. On August 2, 1991, he married Shirley J. Franklin, in Hutchinson. She died April 21, 2009.

Dan is survived by: his children, Anthony McGraw of Wichita, Kimberly Guerrero of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Alice McGraw, Siynatee McQueen, Greyson Guerrero, Antonio Guerrero; siblings, David McGraw (Beverly) of Florida, Ginger Shumpert of Wichita; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Tony McGraw; and sister, Colleen Millett.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Larry graduated from Pratt High School in 1949, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Southern Nazarene University, Bethany, OK, after a two-year enlistment in the Army.&nbsp; Larry’s interests were many and varied but his passions revolved around his church, his businesses, and his family.&nbsp; Most notably, Larry founded Doskocil Food Companies in South Hutchinson, KS which eventually became the dominant supplier of meat toppings for pizza chains such as Pizza Hut, Godfather’s Pizza, Domino’s Pizza and ShowBiz Pizza.

In 1957, Larry married Jacquelin L. Hoxsey.&nbsp; She died May 16, 1989.&nbsp; On June 7, 1991, he married Joan Crew, in Olathe.

Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Sylvia High School, Sylvia, KS, and later graduated from Salt City Business College, Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; She was a homemaker and longtime member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS).

On January 19, 1948, Ruth married Ray L. Cramer.&nbsp; They shared over 42 years of marriage, prior to his death on November 3, 1990.

2022 at her home in Hutchinson.&nbsp; She
was born March 13, 1960 in Tooele, UT, the daughter of Donald Henry Stovall Sr.
and Billie Lucille Ensiminger. 

Patricia graduated from Dugway High School in 1978.&nbsp; On April 25, 1986, she married Robert Caswell
in Hutchinson. &nbsp;To this union, two
beautiful daughters were born; Christina Marie Anela and Brittany Dawn. She
worked as a Home Health Aide for Tech and Disability Supports for 20 years and
also worked in Foster Care for just as long.&nbsp;
She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Randy
Stovall; and a niece, Heidi Elizabeth Stovall.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her two daughters,
Christina (Stacey) Torres and Brittany (Mike) McMurphy; a brother, Robert
Archie Stovall; a sister in law, Kathy Inlow; two grandchildren, Deklyn Neal

As a young adult, Jane attended the First United Methodist Church of Lyons. Jane loved the outdoors and being around animals, and most of all she enjoyed going on car rides with her family. She also looked forward to workshop and the rodeo with her friends at Rosewood Services. 

Jane is survived by her sister, Norma Lee Dailey Schichler and her husband Richard of Buhler. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dean Paul Dailey. 

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M., Monday, April 25, 2022, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Andy Frye officiating. Burial will follow at the Raymond Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.&nbsp;

David was a handy man of all sorts, he enjoyed fixing things and going on his walk and talks, which he always stopped to talk to his neighbors.&nbsp; David had a favorite radio station, KWBW, which he loved listening to daily.&nbsp; He was blind his entire life and was a part of PILR, Prairie Independent Living Resource Center, he also retired from Eaton Manufacturing.

David is survived by his son, Kevin Lee Sieg; daughter, Diane Marshall ( Dean); grandchildren, Daniel Marshall, Zach Sieg, and Alex Sieg; great grandchildren, Paul Sieg, Phillip Sieg, and Arthur Potecuk.

On April 16, 2022, John Edward Gumpenberger, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler.&nbsp; He was born in Washington, Missouri on March 23, 1944 to parents, Anthony and Edith Gumpenberger.

John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon ( Meyer) Gumpenberger; 4 children, Mark ( grandchildren Abby and Cory &amp; 4 great grandchildren), Thad ( grandchildren Myles, Mason and Maclane), Stephanie, and Steve ( wife, Belinda, grandchildren Riley and Kiran).&nbsp;&nbsp;

John is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Edith; five brothers, Ed, Jim, Dick, Bob, and Orville; one sister Lorraine ( Sis) Erikson.

He had several jobs in Hutchinson as a young man before working at Krause Corporation where he retired in 2006 after 40 years.&nbsp; After retiring from Krause Corporation, John joined Ark Valley roofing, where he worked another 8 years as a roof estimator; a job he very much enjoyed.

John was a member of the Moose Lodge #982 and Moose Legion #147.&nbsp; in 2014, he was awarded the " Moose of the Year".&nbsp; there were three things that John had a true passion for, playing acoustic guitar, camping, and boating for 30 years ( especially at Table Rock Lake), and cutting and splitting firewood.&nbsp; He was always active and doing something.&nbsp; There was nothing that he could not fix, build or do.&nbsp; John was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family will be hosing a luncheon and a time to remember John on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 12pm at the Moose Lodge, 1401 E. 1st Avenue, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Michael Lee Koehn, 76, of McPherson, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his home.&nbsp; He was born January 23, 1946 in McPherson, the son of Wilbur Allen and Luella (Koehn) Koehn.

Mike graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley with a master’s degree in industrial arts.

He was united in marriage to Greta Krehbiel on May 23, 1970 at Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.

Mike worked as a supervisor for a welding shop and also did robotic work.&nbsp; He also taught industrial arts at Bethel College in Newton, Newton High School, and Eskridge High School in Eskridge.&nbsp; Mike worked as an occupational therapist at Prairie View in Newton.

He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, building houses and working with machinery on the farm.&nbsp; He loved cars and would loan his yellow sports car to his nieces for their daily drive to school.

Mike is survived by his wife, Greta Koehn of the home; brother, Randy Koehn and Mary Sypinski of Arlington, TX; sisters, Andrea (Roger) Fitzwater and Karen (Bill) Rostine, both of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law, Marilyn Koehn of Newton; brothers-in-law, Mark (Sherry) Krehbiel of Salina, and Ken (Cheri) Krehbiel of McPherson; and sister-in-law, Marcia Hiebert of McPherson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Koehn; mother, Luella Reimer; brother, Roger Koehn; and brother-in-law, Russell Hiebert.

JoAn H. (Knutson) Olson, formerly of Bottineau, ND passed away April 20, 2022, at Reeds Cove Health and Rehabilitation, Wichita.

She was born September 23, 1942, in Richardton, ND to parents, Walter and Erna (Rasch) Knutson of Halliday, ND. When JoAn was 5 years old, her family moved to McKenzie, ND. She received her education at McKenzie Grade School, and then Bismarck High School.

On November 26, 1960, she married Paul W. Olson of Bottineau, ND, where they farmed and raised their five children. In 1983, they sold their farm and bought the KOA Kampground in WaKeeney, where they enjoyed hosting campers for 4 1⁄2 years. They sold the campground and moved back to Bottineau, then to Bismarck, ND. Upon retirement, they moved to Stockton, KS.

JoAn was involved in several community organizations and activities in the Lutheran and Methodist churches she attended. She worked in numerous retail businesses and several secretarial positions. JoAn loved her family, enjoyed music, sewing, meeting and getting to know people, and enjoying God’s great outdoors.

She is greatly missed by:&nbsp; her three sons, Robert (Tammy) Olson of Bottineau, ND, Michael (Brenda) Olson of McGregor, ND, and Timothy (Patricia) Olson of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Kathleen (Kevin) Clark of Hutchinson; and Paulette (Mark) Wildeman of Ellis; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) Mattheyer, Kristin Friesen (Adam Taylor), Dylan (Tyler) Clark, Tylor Olson, Miranda (Caleb) Engeman, Hannah Wildeman, and Josh Olson; brother, Rodney (Deanne) Knutson of McKenzie, ND; sister-in-law, Barb Knutson of McKenzie, ND; brother-in-law, Donald (Inez) Olson of Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her husband, Paul Olson; brother, Gordon Knutson; parents, Walter and Erna (Rasch) Knutson; and baby sister, Kathryn Knutson.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service and burial will be held in Bottineau, ND at a later date.
