Michael Lee Koehn, 76, of McPherson, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his home. He was born January 23, 1946 in McPherson, the son of Wilbur Allen and Luella (Koehn) Koehn.
Mike graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley with a master’s degree in industrial arts.
He was united in marriage to Greta Krehbiel on May 23, 1970 at Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.
Mike worked as a supervisor for a welding shop and also did robotic work. He also taught industrial arts at Bethel College in Newton, Newton High School, and Eskridge High School in Eskridge. Mike worked as an occupational therapist at Prairie View in Newton.
He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, building houses and working with machinery on the farm. He loved cars and would loan his yellow sports car to his nieces for their daily drive to school.
Mike is survived by his wife, Greta Koehn of the home; brother, Randy Koehn and Mary Sypinski of Arlington, TX; sisters, Andrea (Roger) Fitzwater and Karen (Bill) Rostine, both of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law, Marilyn Koehn of Newton; brothers-in-law, Mark (Sherry) Krehbiel of Salina, and Ken (Cheri) Krehbiel of McPherson; and sister-in-law, Marcia Hiebert of McPherson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Koehn; mother, Luella Reimer; brother, Roger Koehn; and brother-in-law, Russell Hiebert.
Cremation is planned.
