Helen Viola Rosenblad, 98, passed away June 10, 2022, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson.&nbsp; She was born December 14, 1923, in Hutchinson, to Raymond Grant and Edith May (Hunter) Streeter.

Helen was a graduate of Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and Physical Education from Baker University, Baldwin City.&nbsp; Helen was a board member of the Southwest Kansas and Northwest Kansas Agencies on Aging.&nbsp; During her tenure as a board member, she helped establish a bus service for senior citizens and built central kitchens for the Minneola, and Downs, KS, communities.&nbsp; Helen was a member of the City of Hutchinson Housing Task Force and City of Hutchinson Community Improvement Commission.&nbsp; She was a founder and director of Interfaith Housing and Community Services Inc., Hutchinson.&nbsp; Helen was recruited to join the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra in 1966.&nbsp; She played second violin and remained as a musician with the symphony for 20 years.

On June 8, 1946, Helen married Rev. Ralph Alexander Rosenblad, at the First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 67 years of marriage, prior to his death on March 8, 2014.&nbsp; Being the wife of a pastor meant that she had to perform the duties of a pastor’s wife, from singing in the choir, providing cakes and casseroles for funeral dinners, to working with the activities of the children in the church.&nbsp; Helen and her husband served four churches in the New England United Methodist Church Conference and then relocated to Kansas, serving six churches in the Kansas West United Methodist Church Conference.&nbsp; She was passionate about both sides of the family genealogy which she researched and wrote about extensively.

She is survived by:&nbsp; her children, Signe (Glen) Rogers of Newton; Eric (Kathy) Rosenblad of Pittsburg; Kirstin (Robert) Zielke of Fowler; and Lars (Christine Montfort) Rosenblad of rural Desmet, ID; bonus daughter, Dianna (Paul) Wright; grandchildren, Christian (Tabitha) Rosenblad, Rebekah (Dustin) Morris, Zane Zielke, Jonathan (Shelly) Rogers, Sarah (David) Roush, Ruth Rogers, and Benjamin Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Cash, Scout, Bren, Arlo, Eleazar, Michelle, Katherine, Tyler, Andrew, Hannah, Isaac, Azaria, Jude, Noah, Abraham, and Benjamin.

Helen was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents; husband; and brother, Raymond E. Streeter and wife, Lydia Hewitt Streeter.

Coila married Otis Darrell Keen in Trousdale and had 3 children together. She later married John "Jack" Leslie Fitzsimmons on August 15, 1976 in Trousdale. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1998. Coila graduated Trousdale High School in 1955. She was a member of Cunningham Methodist Church, Cairo EHU, Cunningham Garden Club and Haviland Medicine Valley Club. She enjoyed gardening, playing pool and attending her grandchildren's school activites. She was an avid seamstress and photographer and entered many of her pieces in the county fairs and Kansas State Fair. She was an avid gardener but also enjoyed volunteering with the Senior Center in Pratt, crafting, tatting lace, playing cards with her girl friends and spending time with grandchildren whether it be babysitting or attending their activities. She is survived by daughters, Dana Murphey of Ellinwood and Heather Murphey of Cunningham; sister, Delores (Marion "Bud") Sloan of Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren, Ian Murphey Hosler of Ellinwood and Marlow Murphey Hosler of Manhattan. Betty (Schwartz) Dick, aged 89 of Newton, died peacefully on June 12, 2022 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. Betty was born on Oct. 8, 1932, in Ulysses, to Milton and Sadie (Wedel) Schwartz.&nbsp; 

She grew up on the family homestead just outside Pretty Prairie. She graduated from Pretty Prairie High School, then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organ from Bethel College in 1954. &nbsp;As she was the only trained organist in the church, Betty was instrumental — together with her Uncle “Pete Shorty” Schwartz — in acquiring and installing the first pipe organ in the First Mennonite Church in Pretty Prairie. She was the first church organist and served in that role for many years. Family lore says that once the organ was installed and Betty played at its dedication, Uncle Pete Shorty said, “Now I can die happy since we have the organ.” The church is located on land the Schwartz family homesteaded in 1884. While at Bethel, Betty met and married her husband, Arthur Dick, M.D., in 1954 and was active in theater at Bethel and performed Handel’s&nbsp;Messiah&nbsp;on Organ on more than one occasion.

Betty taught music in various schools around central Kansas, then moved to Baltimore, Maryland when Art served in the U.S. Army at Edgewood Arsenal.&nbsp; During the posting, Betty taught elementary school music and served as the base’s chapel organist. The couple remained in Maryland for Art to complete his medical degree at the University of Maryland Medical School, moving to the Kansas suburbs of Kansas City in 1965 when Art began his medical internship at the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, Kansas, where he later joined the Department of Neurology faculty. &nbsp;Betty stayed busy raising the couple’s two daughters, Amy (Dick) Morgan and Julie (Dick) Sparks, both born in the late 1960s. Betty also led children’s choir at Village Presbyterian Church.

Betty lived most of her adult life on 68th&nbsp;Street in Prairie Village, moving only to Newton four years ago when her younger daughter, Julie’s, husband, Jeff Sparks, accepted the position as Pastor of Newton’s St. Luke Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Betty loved her family, music, art, cats, sunflowers, and most of all. children. She taught pre-school for decades – retiring only when she had reached 80. She started teaching in the early 1970s at Ward Parkway Presbyterian Preschool, spent a year teaching a music and art appreciation class for her grandsons, then taught preschool close to another decade at Colonial Presbyterian Church, the congregation she joined in the late 1980s. Generations of children can now read, write, sing and follow instructions due to her dedication and talents.

Betty was known to remember her friends’ and family members’ birthdays and special occasions with thoughtful, handwritten cards. She loved attending church and sharing fellowship with other women at Bible studies. Everyone was captivated by Betty’s bright smile and infectious laugh.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Milton, and her mother, Sadie (Wedel). She is survived by her husband, Arthur Dick, M.D.; daughters Julie (Dick) Sparks (Jeff) of Newton; Amy (Dick) Morgan (Steve), of San Antonio; and two grandsons in Texas, Michael Morgan and Jack Morgan; as well as sisters Teresa (Schwartz) Zielke of Newton, Edna Ruth (Schwartz) Kemp of Pretty Prairie, and brother Jerold Schwartz of Denver.

Heavens fairway got a little more crowded Harold G. “Gene” Reid died Thursday June 9, 2022 at the age of 101 at NMC Health in Newton. He was born February 6, 1921 in Edmond (Norton County) Kansas to Henry and Lola Mae (Snow) Reid on February 12, 1940 he married Shirley Dean and she preceded him death in 2001.

Gene worked for the United States Post Office and was the assistant golf pro at the Hesston Municipal Golf Course.

He served his county in the United States Army during WW II and was promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Golf was an important part of Gene’s life being self-taught from the age of 11. He learned many important life lessons on the golf course.&nbsp; As important as golf was, his family was his most important treasure. He greatly enjoyed his time with his family and friends. &nbsp;He especially loved his “greats” as he called all his grandchildren and treasured every story and moment, he could spend with them.

Harold and Shirley loved music and spent many evenings dancing to the Big Band’s and country music, his favorite the Sons of the Pioneers.

He was a longtime active member of the Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton; Past Master of the Newton Masonic Lodge #142 and a bowling group for seniors at the Eastgate Lanes in Newton.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia D. (Tim) Timmons; and son Daryl G. (Aleda) Reid; sister-in-law Betty Jo Reid; and sister Ruth Ann Blackwell. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandsons, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, daughter Dana Joy Sartain, brother Robert L Reid, nephew Vance G. Reid.

Wilma was predeceased by her parents, and sister, Joyce Earlene. Larry L. Betsworth, 84, of Wichita, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.&nbsp; He was born in LeMars, Iowa to Leo Jacob and Amelia (Reker) Betsworth. After college, Larry was in engineering and drafting at Boeing Aircraft where he retired after 35 years of service.&nbsp;

He enjoyed years of showing and attending car shows. It is something he shared and passed down in his family.&nbsp; Yet his greatest love was spending time with his family.

Michael Ray “Mike” Kenney passed from this earth peacefully in his sleep on June 9, 2022, in Edmond, Oklahoma, after a short battle with heart disease and dementia.

Mike, the youngest of four children, was born and raised in McPherson, Kansas to Don and Pearl Kenney. &nbsp;After a stint in the United States Air Force as a young man, he returned to McPherson and to raise his family and start a career.&nbsp;

Mike’s career with the McPherson Fire Department spanned over 20 years. After his retirement from the fire department, he worked for several years for the McPherson school system in janitorial services.&nbsp;&nbsp;

After retirement, Mike moved to Wichita, Kansas to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.&nbsp; The last few years of his life took him to Edmond, Oklahoma to be close to his son and grandchildren.&nbsp;

Mike loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed visiting with them and telling them stories about his time in the military and fire department. &nbsp;An avid fan of military history, he liked to spend his time learning about World War II, as well as watching movies starring his favorite actor, John Wayne. His faith was extremely important to him and during his life he attended the First Baptist Church of McPherson, the McPherson Church of Christ in McPherson, and the Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond.

Known as Dad, Papa, and Grandpa, he loved story telling, and was known for his “Mikeisms,” always having little sayings to enhance just about every situation. He deeply loved and was so proud of his family and what they had accomplished in their lives.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mike was preceded in death by his mother Pearl, father Don, sister Shirley, and brothers Jerry and Kenneth. &nbsp;He is survived by his son Jeremy Kenney and wife Amanda of Edmond, Oklahoma; his daughter Calleen Green of Overland Park, Kansas; and his grandchildren Derek Kenney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lauren Myers of Denver, Colorado, Isaac Green of Wichita, Kansas, and Noah Kenney of Edmond, Oklahoma.

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Linda has passed on to be with her Heavenly Father.

Linda Jean Williamson was born to Robert and Leona (Hildebrand) Williamson in Dodge City, on February 1, 1950. She graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma, where she lived until her death on June 10, 2022 after a lengthy illness.

Linda’s nieces and nephews were one of the joys of her life. She was so proud of them and would brag on them to everyone. She also found a way to spoil them whenever she had the chance.

Born August 8, 1960 to C. Rankin &amp; Darlene Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Delp Fisher, his parents C. Rankin &amp; Darlene Fisher and his brother David Jones.

He is survived by his sister Sharee Werner (Doug) of Ramona California and his brother R. Rankin Fisher of St. John Kansas.

Robert “Bob” Vincent Grey was born July 20, 1930, in Langdon, to Gordon V. and Vivian

Williams Grey and passed away June 11, 2022, at Kingman.

The family moved to Kingman in sixth grade and Bob joined the National Guard his Junior year.

In 1949, he graduated from KHS.&nbsp; In 1951, he married LaVerne Brooks and was married for seventy-one years.&nbsp; She survives.

He was also a part-time bus driver for Kingman schools; a volunteer firefighter for fourteen years.&nbsp; Bob was owner of Phillips 66 at the corner of Main and U.S. 54 for several years with Elton Long until selling out in 1966.&nbsp; After a stint with Morton Feed and then a parts salesman and wrecker driver for Bob Gorham Motors.

In 1970, he bought Western Auto, became President of the Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer of the Kingman Christian Church.&nbsp; In 1977, he purchased G&amp;G Grocery on North Main and in 1981 he sold all and moved to Texas for a year upon returning to Kingman.

He worked for Food-4-Less and Food Barn and retired working for Whites IGA.

Survived by his wife; daughter Marja and her husband David Dickard; son Lonnie; sister Carol Ravenstein.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Colleen, Joyce, Shirley; and brother Bill.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Kingman Christian Church.&nbsp; The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Livingston Funeral Home.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Nancy’s life began on July 1, 1960, in Junction City. She was the daughter of Frank T. and JoAnn (Hansen) Shope. 

Nancy was a 1978 graduate of White City (Rural Vista) High School. She worked for the IGA now Barnes Grocery in Herington as a cook and baker for many years and loved to bake. Nancy enjoyed sewing and watching old westerns on TV. She was an avid music lover and enjoyed her family. 

Her loving family includes her mother JoAnn Shope of White City; children Richard Yarbrough of White City, Tanya Egbert of Council Grove, and Brenda (Jeremy) Domme of Topeka; grandchildren Samantha and Harmony; siblings Charles (Vickie) Shope of White City, Karen Clark of Lawton, OK, Calvin (Gina) Shope of Manhattan and several nieces and nephews. Nancy passed away on Sunday June 12, 2022, at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove. She is preceded in death by her father Frank and brother Carl Shope. 

Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Junction City. Nancy will be laid to rest in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, White City.&nbsp;

Susie F. Bontrager-Swank, 70, of Peabody, passed away June 10, 2022, at Peabody Health &amp; Rehabilitation.&nbsp; She was born July 15, 1951, in Reno County the daughter of Freddie and Treva (Knepp) Yoder.

She married Larry D. Bontrager on April 30, 1970, in Haven, KS. They later separated.

Survivors include her four children, Melvern Bontrager of Welda, Marlene Hittle and her husband Brent of Harveyville, Yvonne Yoder and her husband Clayton of Pretty Prairie, and Larry L. “Sonny” Bontrager, Jr. and his wife Rachel of Garnett; sister, Ada Borntrager, Hutchinson; brothers, Leon Yoder (Barbara), South Hutchinson, Samuel Yoder (Kaye), Bremen, Indiana; brother-in-law, Harry Wayne Bontrager, Haven; and five grandchildren, Bailey and Brandon Hittle and Nikki, Amie and Sierra Yoder.

Brittney graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2018. She worked as a CMA and CNA at Pleasant View Home in Inman and traveled to other area nursing homes. Brittney was passionate about caring for the elderly and had a heart of gold. She was selfless and would help anyone in need, even a stranger. Her smile would light up any room she walked into and her laugh was contagious. Brittney enjoyed driving, singing, writing, and doing crafts. She loved her family above everything else and will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, bravery, intelligence, humor, and beauty, among so many other incredible qualities.

Orletta Fern Brandt (Heide) Wiebe went to be with Jesus on June 8, 2022, at the age of 91. Orletta enjoyed music (never missing a chance to sing 4-part harmony with friends and family), sports (attending and streaming countless football, basketball and volleyball games), reading (bringing books to share with her grandchildren and also reading to challenge herself) traveling to see family (navigating many road trips with her sister, Joyce), gathering with friends, and sharing her faith in God. Orletta’s life began on March 25, 1931, at Hillsboro, Kansas, born to William P. and Lillian (Bartel) Brandt. After 7 days her mother died, leaving her father with 2 sons, ages 2 &amp; 3 and a newborn (Orletta). She was received and nurtured in the home of Henry H. and Linda (Penner) Bartel until her father married Anna Ewert. Orletta’s new mom was loved dearly by all of her instant family. Soon another son, Franklin, joined the family, but lived only 6 months. Later 3 sisters, Pearl, Darlene, and Joyce and a brother John joined the family.&nbsp; Orletta’s education began at Lehigh, Kansas. Because of family moves, she also attended 3 different rural schools. At 13 years of age she was baptized and joined the Johannestal Mennonite Church. After graduating from Hillsboro High School she attended Tabor College for one year. It was there that Orletta was challenged to serve as a volunteer under MCC. Her 2 years of service included one year at the office of the National Service Board for Religious Objectors in Washington, D.C. After her 2nd year at MCC in Akron, PA, she entered nurses training at Bethel College and Bethel Deaconess Hospital, graduating in 1957.&nbsp; Her first work experience as a nurse was at Beatrice Mennonite Hospital, Beatrice, NE. Several years later she returned to Newton KS to work at Prairie View Mental Health Center. It was there she met and married Marvin Heide, a Mt. Lake, MN native, on September 4, 1960. After living in Mt. Lake for a year, where she worked in the Mennonite Hospital, they moved to Hillsboro, KS, and were blessed with 4 children: Jerold, Carolyn, Dennis and Kendall. During the next 10 years Orletta worked at a clinic and at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro.&nbsp; They lived in Beatrice, NE, from 1972-1974, where Orletta worked in a Mental Health Clinic.&nbsp; In 1973 they moved back to Hillsboro where Marvin became owner and operator of Hillsboro Equipment, Inc. They were active members of Trinity Mennonite Church, serving as deacons and youth leaders. Orletta was chosen as the first woman deacon in their church, and with God’s grace was able to minister along with others. She returned to Prairie View, working in the children’s program.&nbsp; In 1979 Orletta’s husband, Marvin, passed away from cancer. She became a single mother of an 11, 14, 16 and 17 year-old. A year or so later she began working for the Marion County Health Dept., later becoming the director. She proudly saw all 4 children graduate from Bethel College. Through a mutual friend, Orletta was introduced to John Wiebe. John lived and worked in Winnipeg, Manitoba as Conference Minister in the Conference of Mennonites in Manitoba. Following the leading of their hearts (and a sense of God’s leading) and family support, John and Orletta were married on March 19, 1988. The following 22 years Orletta lived in Winnipeg, where she also was received by 3 stepchildren, Gerald, Barry and Cindy, and one grandchild, Alex. There Orletta chose to join the Bethel Mennonite Church, serving in a variety of ways. For a number of years she was in a group that met to pray and contemplate once a week, a very enriching experience which continued to challenge her prayer life. Orletta was encouraged to enter the Pastoral Care Ministry under the umbrella of the Conference of Mennonites in Manitoba. Following a year of training and classes Orletta served for 10 years in ministering at St. Boniface Hospital. In 2009, John passed away and Orletta moved back to Kansas, to live at Kidron Bethel Village, joining many friends from her past and gaining many new ones. Living there offered many opportunities to grow spiritually, joining a prayer group and numerous book discussions. Orletta said,“Reading, cooking, and traveling were some of my favorite activities. Having been blessed with relatively good health, I daily pray with thankfulness. Great is your faithfulness, God.” Orletta was preceded in death by her parents, William, Lillian (Bartel) and Anna (Ewert) Brandt, two husbands, Marvin Heide and John F. David Wayne Poor, 65, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Douglass.

David was born in Long Beach, California to Violet Mae (Turner) Poor and James Lafeyette Poor, Sr. He was a long-time resident of Wichita and Douglass, Kansas. He attended East High School, Wichita, Kansas. He worked at Boeing Aircraft until he was disabled by a cerebral hemorrhage in 1980. Prior to that he also completed 6 years in the Army National Guard, activated during two crises; The El Dorado flooding and the Kansas Firefighters Labor Strike in September of 1978. He received a Kansas National Guard Service medal and a Kansas State Emergency Duty Service Ribbon. He enjoyed working on cars, watching television, drinking coffee with his friends and fishing.

David is survived by his children, Jackie Utz of Wichita; Jeremy Poor (Lisa)&nbsp;of Grand Junction, CO;&nbsp;and Marisa Newfelt (Chris) of Wichita; his two sisters, Donna Kay Haberle of El Dorado Springs, MO and Carmel Poor of Wichita, KS; grandchildren include: Alyssa Hutsell (Curtis) of Derby; Devin Utz of Mulvane; Tommy, Johnny &amp; Joey Poor, all of Grand Junction, Co; great grandchildren include: Connor Shurtleff and Alaina Hutsell, both of Derby; cousins: Jody Turner (Sonya) of Douglass, and Randy Turner; and friends.

Sally Jane Oberle, 71, of Ellsworth, died June 8, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; She was born September 24, 1950, in Haven, to Harry Berton and Vera Irene (Glover) Edwards.&nbsp;

Sally graduated from Holyrood High School and trade school to become a dental hygienist.&nbsp; She was a homemaker and loved her family very much.&nbsp; She had an unwavering faith in God and enjoyed In Touch Ministries with Charles Stanley and The 700 Club. Sally enjoyed reading, the family pets (which were her children), and visiting with family and loved friends.&nbsp; She loved to send cards and spent countless hours searching for just the perfect card (color, verse, and picture) to send to her family and friends.&nbsp; Above all, Sally was extremely proud of her two grandsons, Luke and Joseph.&nbsp; While the grandsons were in school, Sally and Norman stayed busy traveling to their sporting events, and cheering for them. &nbsp;They were her pride and joy.

On September 27, 1969, she married Norman Andrew Oberle, in Bushton.&nbsp; They shared almost 53 years of marriage.

Sally is survived by:&nbsp; husband, Norman; son, Andrew Oberle (Melissa), all of Ellsworth; grandsons, Luke Oberle (Gentry) of Goddard and Joseph Oberle (Alexandra) of Beloit; great-grandson, William Oberle, with two more great-grandchildren to join the Oberle family in 2022; sister, Marilyn Sue Patterson of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents; brothers, Harry Edwards, Bill Edwards, and Bob Edwards; and sisters, Carolyn Evans and Peggy Green.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery located on East 8th&nbsp;Street, Ellsworth.&nbsp; Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Sally Jane Oberle, 71, of Ellsworth, died June 8, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; She was born September 24, 1950, in Haven, to Harry Berton and Vera Irene (Glover) Edwards.&nbsp;Sally graduated from Holyrood High School and trade school to become a dental hygienist.&nbsp; She was a homemaker and loved her family very much.&nbsp; She had an unwavering faith in God and enjoyed In Touch Ministries with Charles Stanley and The 700 Club. Sally enjoyed reading, the family pets (which were her children), and visiting with family and loved friends.&nbsp; She loved to send cards and spent countless hours searching for just the perfect card (color, verse, and picture) to send to her family and friends.&nbsp; Above all, Sally was extremely proud of her two grandsons, Luke and Joseph.&nbsp; While the grandsons were in school, Sally and Norman stayed busy traveling to their sporting events, and cheering for them. &nbsp;They were her pride and joy.On September 27, 1969, she married Norman Andrew Oberle, in Bushton.&nbsp; They shared almost 53 years of marriage.Sally is survived by:&nbsp; husband, Norman; son, Andrew Oberle (Melissa), all of Ellsworth; grandsons, Luke Oberle (Gentry) of Goddard and Joseph Oberle (Alexandra) of Beloit; great-grandson, William Oberle, with two more great-grandchildren to join the Oberle family in 2022; sister, Marilyn Sue Patterson of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents; brothers, Harry Edwards, Bill Edwards, and Bob Edwards; and sisters, Carolyn Evans and Peggy Green.Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022, at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery located on East 8th&nbsp;Street, Ellsworth.&nbsp; Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Judith Ann Birkenbaugh, 78, of Kingman, passed away on June 7, 2022.

Judy was born on February 3, 1944 to Edward and Ruth Scott Utz in McPherson. She was raised and received her education in McPherson and Kingman, graduating from Kingman High School in 1962. After high school Judy went on to study Home Economics at Southwestern and later Fort Hays State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree.

On July 3, 1966, she married Clint Birkenbaugh at Kingman. Judy and Clint went on to have two children, daughter Heidi and son Jason who were her pride and joy.

Although Judy was raised a “city girl”, she quickly adapted and fell in love with the life she and Clint had on the family farm. Judy’s soft spot for all animals was evident by the attachment she had for all the animals they raised on the farm, especially her Dalmations and cats.

Life on the farm was always busy but Judy found time to be involved with many clubs and organizations. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, P.E.O, Eastern Star and Young Farmers Wives. She also served on the Board of Education for U.S.D. 331 for nearly a decade.

Survivors include son Jason and his wife Becky Birkenbaugh (Audrey, Ty, Claire and Logan) of Kingman; daughter Heidi and her husband Doug of Suppesville. (Cody and Sarah, Bethany, Kynslie Howard, Ashly and Elijah, Allison and LJ, Sloane, Tyler, Hank and Archie and Madison and Ezryn); brother and sister in law Scott and Judy Utz, sister and brother in law Sharon and Larry Theurer; and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14 at the Kingman United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Adeline C. Green, 95, died June 6, 2022 at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.

She was born Dec. 22, 1926, at Willowdale, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Arensdorf Miller.&nbsp; A resident of the Zenda community most of her life, she was a farm wife and homemaker.

Adeline was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of Zenda.

On Jan. 12, 1954, she married C. Wayne Green at Willowdale; he died May 28, 1992.&nbsp; Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Becky and Clint East, Junell &nbsp;and Chauncey Swingle; brother Paul Miller; sisters Joan Smith, Mary M. Miller and Jeanette Gaider; &nbsp;sister-in-law Wilma Leonaggeo; four grandchildren and their spouses Brennen and Adrienne East, Abbie East with Michael Huffman, Megan and Tom Resch and Jeff Swingle with Melissa Conroy; and two great-grandchildren Aubrey and Ella Resch.&nbsp; She was also preceded in death by a brother Joseph “Sonny” Miller.

Gary Lee Buhler, 82, passed into God's hands on May 25,2022 at his home in South Hutchinson.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was born on September 10, 1939 to Menno and Opal ( Hubert) Buhler in Hutchinson.&nbsp; He graduated from Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He served our country in the United States Air National Guard of Kansas. Gary was a Minister for over 50 years and he enjoyed singing and playing guitar in church and at home.&nbsp; He touched so many lives in so many ways through the years by teaching God's words.&nbsp; He is loved and missed.&nbsp;

Gary is survived by his wife, Rebecca of the home; daughters, Ann ( Darren ) Lane, Sarah Jones ( Justin Barker), Stephanie ( Ridley) Stokley all of Hutchinson.

Gary was preceded in death by sons, Steven Buhler, Paul Buhler, Robert Stokley, Anthony Stokley.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on June 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Full Gospel Church, 414 East G Avenue, Hutchinson.
