Darren James Ebling, 33, of Lindsborg, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at Salina Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; He was born on October 3, 1988, in Salina, to Kent and Caren Ebling.

He was a 2007 graduate of SVHS and received fire and EMS training from Hutchinson Community College and Advanced-EMS training from Butler Community College.

Darren worked in the Emergency Services as a Fireman and Advanced EMT with the Lindsborg Fire and EMS, Life Touch EMS, McPherson EMS, Reno County EMS, Hutchinson Community College – Lab Instructor, and the safety crew at Salina Speedway.

Darren was preceded in death by his father Kent and is survived by his mother, Caren, siblings, Jennifer &amp; Kurtis, Lindsborg, and grandmother, Donna Elvin, Marquette.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 8, 6-8pm, at the Lindsborg Covenant Church, 102 W. Washington. A celebration of Darren’s life will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 1:30 pm at the Lindsborg Covenant Church.

Dianne’s life began on January 9, 1960, in Florence. She was the daughter of Delano F. and Barbara Anne (Harbison) O’Dell. 

Dianne was a 1978 graduate of Marion High School. She worked for the Marion County Treasurer’s Office for several years as a clerk and had been the city clerk at Florence. Prior to working in local government, Dianne was a seismologist and worked in several and varied locations. 

Dianne was fortunate to have found love twice in her life, first to husband James Hinton, who preceded her in death and then to Don Burnett, who she married April 6, 1994, in Reno. 

Dianne was an expert homebody. She loved to be in her jammies, enjoying time with family. She was a fan of watching old western movies and enjoyed football, rooting on her NY Giants. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband Don of Marion; brother Mike O’Dell of Marion; nieces Erin (Shawn) Markley of Lee Summit; and Caitlin (Jake) Adkins of St. George; and great nieces and nephews Ella, Lily, Logan, Reagan, Quinn, and Collins. 

Dianne passed away at her home on Thursday March 31, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband James Hinton, and brother Scott O’Dell. 

Her family will gather with friends on Monday April 4, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion. Her graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.&nbsp;

Clara H. Copeland&nbsp;passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in Wichita.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was born in Crossroads, Arkansas to Gertha Noveda (Hearn) May Toone and "Dan" Ely Lee May. She was a lifelong resident of Valley Center and Wichita.&nbsp;

She worked and retired from Furr's Cafeteria. Clara loved to be helping all and any family. She took care of anyone that needed her until their final resting days.&nbsp;She enjoyed shopping and eating out around town. Her favorite was to stop in and visit with her sister Melba and have coffee.&nbsp;They loved, absolutely loved playing dominoes and would get a game going and play for hours at a time. Her greatest love too was when the grandkids were all over for a visit with her.&nbsp; She truly loved her family and time with them. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Gertha and Dan May, siblings Clemon May and Melba Lee Dater, spouse Ernest Copeland and their son Glen J. Copeland, great grandson Dominic, a niece and great nephew. John Edward Schwartz, the son of Christina Margaret (Kuhn) McReynolds and John J. Schwartz was born on March 9, 1954 in Hoisington. 

He was one of six children born to this union, four sons and two daughters, John Jr., Betty, Don, Theresa, Tom and John. 

John attended St. John grade school, Hoisington, and graduated from Hoisington High School, Hoisington, in 1972. He then attended Barton County Community College, Great Bend, for Automotive Mechanics. After John was discharged from the military he attended Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kansas where he received his Associates Degree. 

John E. Schwartz was united in marriage to Nancy Jean Sheridan on April 28, 1975 in Ellsworth. The young couple established their first home together in Bainbridge, Maryland. This union was blessed with the birth of two daughters, Sonya and Megan. 

John proudly served in the United States Navy until his Honorable discharge in 1980. Through the years John worked as a Electrician for the Board of Public Utilities, McPherson. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in McPherson. John was a Christian, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. 

His wise counsel, gentle but firm guidance and gracious smile will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was very proud of his children and always wanted the very best for them. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to the times they would share together. John was a master of all trades who could build anything from a house to a vehicle from scratch. His favorite pastime was restoring old Chevy trucks but he was reluctant to even work on Fords or foreign vehicles. He also enjoyed traveling with the Hot Rod Power Tour, competing in car shows with the Mac Area Cruisers, and watching Nascar every weekend. He loved going to auctions and swap meets. For him, everything was for sale, for the right price of course. 

When John was a young man, he was an excellent drummer and still enjoyed listening to anything with a good drum line. John cherished his family and friends, but was always quick to say goodbye. 

John Edward Schwartz, 68, of Moundridge, passed away at 5:44pm, Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 unexpectedly at his residence. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty Szmyd.He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy Schwartz, of Moundridge; his daughters, Sonya Jenkins and her husband Mike, of Moundridge; and Megan Schwartz, of Moundridge; his siblings, Don Schwartz and his wife Julie, of Moundridge; Theresa Murray, of Kingman; and Tom Schwartz and his wife Pat, of Wichita. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Bayli Hoppes, Brenen Hoppes, Ian Jenkins, Kaden Jenkins, J.D. Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins and two great grandchildren, Bronx Hoppes and Kingston Ogbevoen. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas w/ Rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in McPherson, with Fr. Dennis C. Ludwick, 79, of Chase, went home to the Lord on March 30, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born October 9, 1942, in Sterling. He was the son of Jacob Clyde and Sarah Leona Runyan Ludwick. 

Dennis has resided in Chase for the last 50 years, formerly of Salina. He graduated from Chase High School, with the class of 1960, and received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sterling College, Sterling, in 1965. Dennis worked at Lockheed in Georgia from 1966 until 1969, and Rickel Manufacturing (later known as Big A Sprayers) in Salina. He was also a farmer for many years. 

On December 12, 1976, Dennis was united in marriage with Carolyn Kaufman in Pretty Prairie. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his daughter, Jamie and husband Jeff, and grandson Tegan Link of Raymond; sister, Lin Heritage of Tulsa, OK; and nephew, David and wife Julie, and great-nephews Chandler and Logan Heritage of Tulsa, OK. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30am, Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Pastor Joel Grizzle officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00pm, Monday, April 4, 2022, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00pm.&nbsp;

Carla Sue Wright, 60, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Hutchinson Reginal Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS.

She was born February 9, 1962 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Earl R. and Margeret E. (Ebeling) Deck.&nbsp; She graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College and Washburn University.&nbsp; 

On November 5, 1989 she married Danny P. Wright in Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; Carla was a member of First Christian Church.&nbsp; She enjoyed sewing, bible study, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny; a son Eric; and granddaughter Addilynn. Carla is survived by her two children, David Deck and Lydia Moss both of Hutchinson; two brothers, Robert Deck and Keith Deck, two sisters, Carol Mellenbruch and Patty Deck; a grandson, David Deck II, and a granddaughter, Ellie Moss.

Arthur “Art” W. Howell, Jr. 86, passed away Friday,
March 11, 2022, in Lincoln. He was born June 20, 1935, to Arthur and Lola
Ann (Spear) Howell, in Anderson, MO. ﻿

Art was a licensed engineer and
surveyor. He served as County Engineer in several counties in Kansas having
been the Lincoln County Engineer at the age of 25. Art and his wife, Eula Mae
established their own engineering firm in Lincoln County. He also held a
private pilot’s license. Art was a past member of the Kansas State Board of
Agriculture and the Kansas State Fair Board. Serving as past president Art had
been active in the Kansas Simmental Association through the years. His
involvement in the American Boer Goat Association was felt throughout the
United States of America.

Art was a stalwart volunteer for the Convention of States
movement. He had a formal role as Regional Captain and the informal role as the
State Charmer. He could not leave a room until he shared his love for
individual rights and limited government with everyone there. He disarmed his
opponents with his smile and charm.

Art’s involvement in the Convention of States project
promoted his belief in Article Five of United States Constitution.

Art is survived by his son, Daniel Howell; grandson, Dusty
Howell; granddaughter, Nikki Howell; granddaughter, Katie (Jason) McWilliams; grandson,
Joshua Howell; grandson, Whit Divilbiss; grandson, Court Allmond; granddaughter,

Lesley Stewart “Stu” Wilder, 84, a longtime resident of Lyons, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born March 29, 1937, in Acmar, Alabama, the son of Henry Earl and Gazelle (Hawkins) Wilder. 

He graduated from Pell City High School in Pell City, Alabama. After graduating from Pell City High School, he joined the United States Navy. While stationed in Hutchinson, he met and married Mary Limones in 1957.

 Once discharged from the Navy, he worked at the Pepsi Bottling Company in Lyons, and for Cessna in Hutchinson. In 1974, Stu and his wife, Mary, opened Wilder Upholstery Shop, in Lyons which they operated until their retirement in 2020. Stu learned the upholstery trade while working part-time for Vic Brown at Vic’s shop during his time at Cessna. 

Stu is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gazelle Wilder; son, Bryant W. Wilder; and brother, Steven Clifton Wilder. Stu is survived by his wife, Mary Wilder of Lyons; four sons, William “Bill” (Stacey) Wilder of Lyons; David (Carrie) Wilder of Lyons; Bruce (Annie) Wilder of McPherson; Christopher “Chris” (Linda) Wilder of Pell City, AL; daughter, Bettina “Tina” (Rick) Kloxin of Lyons; daughter-in-law, Cindy Wilder, widow of Bryant Wilder; two sisters, Earlene Dobbs and Glinda Faulkner, both of Pell City, AL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Roger worked as a plasterer for over 50 years - first with his dad at Eckert Plastering of Hutchinson, and then with Midwest Drywall of Wichita. As a child, Roger appeared in an episode of “Little Rascals”, and then later in life in an episode of “Dirty Jobs”. He loved baseball, gardening, his dog, Sissy, Westerns, and could talk about almost any gun ever made.

On September 16, 1961, Roger married Judith Anne Bailey, in Hutchinson. They shared 48 years of marriage before her death on December 2, 2009.

He is survived by: his children, Susan and Dave Wellington of Hutchinson, Scott and Jaclyn Eckert of Newton, Sammi Isaacson and David Wakefield of Hutchinson; grandchildren, David and Alyssa Wellington of Hutchinson, Mike and Shirley Wellington of Newton, Kody and Payton Isaacson of Buhler, Levi Isaacson of Hutchinson, Jadyn and Isabelle Eckert of Newton; great-granddaughters, Naddilyn, Kayelyn, and Brightlyn Wellington; siblings, Pat and Kenneth Wray and Joe Eckert, all of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Judy; and sister-in-law, Vivian Eckert.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Elliott Chapel. Casual dress is encouraged. Gregorio Sergio “Greg” Mesa, 62, died March 28, 2022, at Hospice House.&nbsp; He was born April 9, 1959, in Hutchinson, to Luis and Socorro (Valenzuela) Mesa.

Greg was a longtime Hutchinson resident. &nbsp;He loved music, especially rock and roll and jazz.&nbsp; Greg played the guitar in a number of bands, and passed his love for music and playing the guitar onto his grandson, Ethan.&nbsp; Along with teaching Ethan to play the guitar, Greg enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, and attending Kansas City Chiefs football games.

Greg is survived by:&nbsp; son, Gregory Mesa; daughter, Nicole Mesa (Jimmy Gilbert), all of Hutchinson; the mother of his children, Trudy Mesa; long-time girlfriend, Christina Stricker; grandchildren, Ethan Gilbert, Jaydie Mesa, and Easton Mesa; three sisters, Maria Clark, Hope Mesa, and Margaret Lavenbarg; and his familia Nava Valenzuela of Mexico, and Rios and Garcia family.

Jason married Debora Sue (McManigal) May on July 17, 1993 in Hays. They were married for 28 years. Jason graduated from Colby High School in 1985. He earned his Associate Degree from Colby Community College, Bachelors degree from Fort Hays State University and his Masters Degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He worked as a middle school science and math teacher, wrestling, football and golf coach and principal at Haskins Elementary and Southwest Elementary for Pratt USD 382 since 1995. He earned awards as Elementary School Principal of the Year and Middle School Coach of the Year. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, previous Kiwanis Member and past President of Kansas Association of Elementary School Principals. He enjoyed music, especially U2, movies, nonfiction, lifelong loyal Minnesota Vikings fan, being a Greenback and announcing the football games and other activities, being a dad and spending time with his family. Florence M. Steely, 95, of McPherson, Kansas passed away on March 28, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 15, 1926, at the family home near White City, Kansas, the daughter of Fred A. and Orlena (Kohls) Herpich.&nbsp; Florence was a graduate of Woodbine High School, Woodbine, with the class of 1945.

Upon graduation, Florence went to work with Dr. Emig, an optometrist, as an optometrist assistant in Herington.&nbsp; It was during her employment with Dr. Emig that this young, handsome man came in for an appointment.&nbsp; Glenn B. Steely was that young man who became her life partner.&nbsp; Glenn and Florence were married on October 3, 1948, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, White City.

Through the years of their married life, they lived in several states due to Glenn’s various business activities.&nbsp; Florence was never without a job very long, even with the various moves.&nbsp; She was very good at fitting and adjusting glasses and would work for numerous optometrists, finally retiring from this work at the age of 82.&nbsp; She and Glenn enjoyed extensive travel on their own, with bus trips, and the highlight being able to travel to Russia and Finland.

During her later years, she spent much time oil painting, being self-taught by Bob Ross books, especially in nursing homes with residents observing.

Survivors include her loving and devoted companion and best friend, JD the cat, one brother, Fred L. Herpich, one sister, Elvera Wehmeier, numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one nephew.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Bower officiating.&nbsp; A visitation/viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until service time on Saturday morning.&nbsp; Burial will follow the service at McPherson Cemetery.

Florence M. Steely  |1926-2022| 

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, railroad enthusiast and farmer, Willard John McClure, age 91, of Stafford, went to be with his Lord on March 26, 2022. Born on Dec. 27, 1930, he was the only child of Herbert J. McClure and Vieva (Gard) McClure.&nbsp; 

He farmed in Stafford County for over 70 years, first, with his father and later with his sons.&nbsp; On March 3, 1951, he married his helpmate, Phyllis Slade, daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Taylor) Slade.&nbsp;

He attended Stafford Elementary School until the 3rd&nbsp;grade when his parents moved to the Gard homestead southwest of Stafford.&nbsp; There he attended a country school, along with seven other pupils.&nbsp; During World War II, his father moved the family to Hutchinson, to work at Central Gas Corporation and later at Meadow Gold bottling company. &nbsp; While attending Hutchinson public schools, Willard earned his Boy Scout troop’s highest award, an Eagle Scout.&nbsp; During his adolescence, he traveled by train to Michigan to visit relatives, a trip that sparked a deep interest in railroads that continued throughout his life.&nbsp; He rode narrow gauge railroads in Colorado, New Mexico and Pennsylvania and made several trips on Amtrak to Chicago and the West Coast.&nbsp; His parents returned to the farm the summer before his junior year and he graduated from Stafford High School in 1949.&nbsp; It was there that he met his future wife of 66 years, Phyllis Slade, and they were married during his sophomore year while attending Kansas State University.&nbsp; Later, in 1966, he received an associate degree from Pratt Community College.

During the Korean War, Willard served as an aircraft mechanic with the U. S. Army 537th&nbsp;Battery, learning mechanical skills that proved invaluable as a farmer.&nbsp; After stints at San Marcos Army Airfield, TX; Fort Riley, KS; Fort Sill, OK, and Fort Carson, CO, he was honorably discharged in January 1954 and returned to rural Stafford County.&nbsp; There he devoted his career to farming which he loved.&nbsp; He served on the Board of Directors of the Stafford Cooperative, for two terms, and oversaw its merger with the Kanza Cooperative Association. In 1975, he was awarded the Soil Conservation Banker Award.&nbsp; From the mid-1990’s through 2001, he served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Corn Growers Association, an advocacy organization representing the interests of corn growers in the United States.&nbsp; During his tenure, he traveled to Panama, Mexico and Cuba to share agricultural techniques and encourage trade between the United States and these countries.&nbsp; He was also on the advisory board of the Stafford County Extension and was selected as a Master Farmer by Kansas State University’s Extension program in 2018.

An avowed believer in Jesus Christ, Willard was active in the youth group at First Baptist Church in Hutchinson.&nbsp; Following his return to Stafford, he was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, deacon and trustee in the First Baptist Church of Stafford.&nbsp; He later attended the Stafford United Methodist Church and served as a trustee and on the Pastor/Parish Committee.

Willard was preceded in death by his wife and his oldest son, Douglas.&nbsp; His remaining children are Rebecca (Doug) McClure of Colorado Springs, CO; Cynthia (Tim) Jacobson of Greenville, SC; and Jon (Rhonda) McClure of Stafford, KS.&nbsp; Grandchildren are Miles (Teresa) McClure of Colorado Springs, CO; Mallori (Brandon) Miller of Alexandria, VA; Marcus (Taylor) McClure of Orlando, FL; Jillian Jacobson of Washington, DC; Richard Jacobson (Tanaja) of Cleveland, OH; Dustin McClure of Kansas City, KS and Derek (Ellie) McClure of Stafford, KS.&nbsp; Willard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by the family he left behind.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stafford United Methodist Church with Rev. Kim Hurley Andrews officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, railroad enthusiast and farmer, Willard John McClure, age 91, of Stafford, went to be with his Lord on March 26, 2022. Born on Dec. 27, 1930, he was the only child of Herbert J. McClure and Vieva (Gard) McClure.&nbsp; He farmed in Stafford County for over 70 years, first, with his father and later with his sons.&nbsp; On March 3, 1951, he married his helpmate, Phyllis Slade, daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Taylor) Slade.&nbsp;He attended Stafford Elementary School until the 3rd&nbsp;grade when his parents moved to the Gard homestead southwest of Stafford.&nbsp; There he attended a country school, along with seven other pupils.&nbsp; During World War II, his father moved the family to Hutchinson, to work at Central Gas Corporation and later at Meadow Gold bottling company. &nbsp; While attending Hutchinson public schools, Willard earned his Boy Scout troop’s highest award, an Eagle Scout.&nbsp; During his adolescence, he traveled by train to Michigan to visit relatives, a trip that sparked a deep interest in railroads that continued throughout his life.&nbsp; He rode narrow gauge railroads in Colorado, New Mexico and Pennsylvania and made several trips on Amtrak to Chicago and the West Coast.&nbsp; His parents returned to the farm the summer before his junior year and he graduated from Stafford High School in 1949.&nbsp; It was there that he met his future wife of 66 years, Phyllis Slade, and they were married during his sophomore year while attending Kansas State University.&nbsp; Later, in 1966, he received an associate degree from Pratt Community College.During the Korean War, Willard served as an aircraft mechanic with the U. S. Army 537th&nbsp;Battery, learning mechanical skills that proved invaluable as a farmer.&nbsp; After stints at San Marcos Army Airfield, TX; Fort Riley, KS; Fort Sill, OK, and Fort Carson, CO, he was honorably discharged in January 1954 and returned to rural Stafford County.&nbsp; There he devoted his career to farming which he loved.&nbsp; He served on the Board of Directors of the Stafford Cooperative, for two terms, and oversaw its merger with the Kanza Cooperative Association. In 1975, he was awarded the Soil Conservation Banker Award.&nbsp; From the mid-1990’s through 2001, he served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Corn Growers Association, an advocacy organization representing the interests of corn growers in the United States.&nbsp; During his tenure, he traveled to Panama, Mexico and Cuba to share agricultural techniques and encourage trade between the United States and these countries.&nbsp; He was also on the advisory board of the Stafford County Extension and was selected as a Master Farmer by Kansas State University’s Extension program in 2018.An avowed believer in Jesus Christ, Willard was active in the youth group at First Baptist Church in Hutchinson.&nbsp; Following his return to Stafford, he was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, deacon and trustee in the First Baptist Church of Stafford.&nbsp; He later attended the Stafford United Methodist Church and served as a trustee and on the Pastor/Parish Committee.Willard was preceded in death by his wife and his oldest son, Douglas.&nbsp; His remaining children are Rebecca (Doug) McClure of Colorado Springs, CO; Cynthia (Tim) Jacobson of Greenville, SC; and Jon (Rhonda) McClure of Stafford, KS.&nbsp; Grandchildren are Miles (Teresa) McClure of Colorado Springs, CO; Mallori (Brandon) Miller of Alexandria, VA; Marcus (Taylor) McClure of Orlando, FL; Jillian Jacobson of Washington, DC; Richard Jacobson (Tanaja) of Cleveland, OH; Dustin McClure of Kansas City, KS and Derek (Ellie) McClure of Stafford, KS.&nbsp; Willard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by the family he left behind.A celebration of his life will be held on Friday May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stafford United Methodist Church with Rev. Weldon Arthur Cook, 81, passed away March 28, 2022, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born October 30, 1940, in Hutchinson, to Arthur Sydney and Evelyn Irene (Schnurr) Cook.

Weldon was a 1958 graduate of Partridge High School, Partridge.&nbsp; He was employed as the warehouse manager at Pepsi Cola for 28 years, and then worked for the Kansas State Fair, retiring with 11 years of service.&nbsp; From May 2010 to May 2013, Weldon served as the mayor of the City of South Hutchinson.

On July 7, 1961, he married Jolene Mitzner, in South Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 60 years of marriage.

Weldon is survived by:&nbsp; his wife, Jolene Cook of South Hutchinson; children, Troy (Susan) Cook of Nickerson; and Tami Cook of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Heather (Jesse) Cartwright of Hutchinson; Tyler (Hannah) Cook of Nickerson; and Ryder Cook of Hays; and great-grandchildren, Max Elam, Lucy Elam, Emily Cook, Camden Hummel, and Willow Hummel.

He was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; brother, Eual Cook; and sister, Wanita Moeller.

Marian Joan “Jo” Murphy, 91, died March 28, 2022, at Hospice House. She was born January 11, 1931, in Cleveland, MO, to Albert and Beulah (Hockensmith) Witherspoon.

Jo graduated from Waverly High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and very devoted to her husband and family. Jo was an avid quilter who stitched all her quilts by hand. She attended Crestview Bible Church.

On May 20, 1951, Jo married John E. Murphy, in Topeka. He died January 15, 2009.

She is survived by: her daughters, Teri Armstrong of Elizabeth, CO; Julie Trent (Martin) of Inman; Edie Ortmann (Dwight) of Fremont, CA; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

Jo was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Mildred Luedke, Doris Jeffery, Betty Short, Ola Beuchler, Robert Witherspoon, Marvin Witherspoon, and Leon Witherspoon.

Gary Dee Jacobs, 82, passed away March 26, 2022, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab.&nbsp; He was born January 1, 1940, in Lyons, to Melville and Juanita (Clark) Jacobs.

Gary was a 1957 graduate of Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He worked in the lab at Eaton Corporation, retiring with over 40 years of service.&nbsp; Gary was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

He enjoyed gardening and building koi ponds.&nbsp; Gary had a real love for his animals and wildlife.

On September 1, 1963, he married Pamela Anne Wernet, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 58 years of marriage.

Gary is survived by: his wife, Pam Jacobs of Hutchinson; children, Marc (Barbara) Jacobs of Valley Center, and Heather (Ian) Malcolm of Bailey, CO; grandchildren, Ian Bertolacci, Mourin Malcolm, and Samara Malcolm; siblings, Kay Clark (Jan) Jacobs of Hutchinson, Wallace ‘Jake’ (Theresa) Jacobs of Wichita, and Gaye Stach of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Linda Kay Baird, 74, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022. She was born on March 3, 1948 in Russell, to George and Thelma (Keil) Wolf. She married Jerry Baird on October 12, 1968. They were married for 53 years. Linda loved and excelled at her job as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, crafting and scrap booking. She sold crafts at all the local craft shows and her work was loved and taken home by many. She was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her family and her precious dog, Cooper. She is survived by husband, Jerry; children, Lisa (Donnie) Goertzen, Terry Baird and Michael Baird all of Pratt; sisters, Charlene Graham of Arizona, Mary Schoenberger of Hays, Sharon Wolf of Hays and Kathy (Curt) Kinney of Lawerance; brothers, Willis (Julie) Wolf of Salina, Danny (Patty) Wolf of Hays and Steve (Karen) Wolf of Holcomb; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donovan J. Stubby (94) passed away Tuesday, March 22 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.  Don was born on July 26, 1927 to Jacob and Edna Stubby. 

 The oldest of nine children he grew up in rural Lehigh.   He went to school in Lehigh and at age 16 went to work in the oil fields for two years.  He served in the Army from 1945 – 1947.  After the Army he returned to Newton and went to work in 1948 for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. 

 In 1949 Don married Neva Jean Luttrell.  They had two children Bryan and Brenda.  Don worked 30 years for Southwestern Bell retiring in 1978.  Along with working for the phone company Don farmed.   He lived south of Newton farming for over 50 years. 

  Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Neva, sisters Lila and Janet, brothers, Earl, Gilmer and Rodney, second wife Doris Brickell, and his daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Ken McGuire.  He is survived by his sister, Helen Saylor and brothers, Loren and Jerry, son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Kristie, granddaughter Shea and husband Preston Neufeld, grandson, Cole Stubby and three great grandsons, Briggs, Banks and Broncs Neufeld. 

  A family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Donovan J. Stubby (94) passed away Tuesday, March 22 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. Don was born on July 26, 1927 to Jacob and Edna Stubby. Terri L. Casper, 53, of Wichita, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2022. She is preceded in death by her father William and her mother Peggy. &nbsp;

Terri is survived by her partner Ben Payson, her brothers William Jr. and Clinton,&nbsp; her sisters Debbie and Millie;&nbsp; her nephews Adam and Travis Peters, Devron and Eric Allen, Billy and Joey Casper, Danny and Josh Dubetsky;&nbsp; her nieces Amanda Davis, Jennifer and Andrea Casper, and Alissa Martini; other family and friends. Terri loved doing her makeup and painting her fingernails, she loved watching hockey and boxing, she loved her pets and getting flowers from Ben every week. &nbsp;She truly loved helping anyone when she could! Jameson Scott Driskell was born at 7:50 a.m. March 25, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, to Joshua Scott Driskell and Kaci Marie Ferguson.&nbsp; He gained his angel wings two days later on March 27, 2022.

Jameson is survived by:&nbsp; his parents, Josh and Kaci; sisters, Jillian Ferguson, Willow Driskell, and Oakley Driskell; twin brother, Easton Eugene Driskell; maternal grandparents, Donna and Darrel Ranzau; paternal grandmother, Shawn Driskell; great-grandmothers, Elaine Pulliam and Sandra Roychoudhury; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Timothy Scott Driskell, and paternal great-grandfather, Bill Pulliam.

The family will celebrate Jameson’s short life at a later date.
