Gary James Barber, 82, of Hutchinson, died March 15, 2022, at Pleasant Hills of Hutchinson. He was born June 14, 1939, in Des Moines, IA, to James and Alice (Murray) Barber.

Gary graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, NV, in 1957 and the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1968. He served in the United States Army from 1962-1964. Gary worked as an accountant in Las Vegas and Hutchinson. He enjoyed drawing cartoons and had several published. Gary loved baseball, especially the Royals and Yankees. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

On May 13, 1989, Gary married Jennifer N. “Jennie” (Fuller) Snell, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: son, Steven Barber of Hutchinson; stepdaughters, Jeanine Brannan (Richard) of Erie, Bonnie Westfahl (Charles) of Hutchinson, Theresa Faulkner (Matthew) of Kansas City, MO, stepson, Jeffrey Snell (Karna) of Buhler; grandchildren, Joshua and Jarrin Barber; great-grandson, Aiden Barber; 10 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Barber (Robert Snider) of Mesa, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, James Snell.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Dr., with the Reverend Dr. J. Ted Blakley officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page.

Gary Edward “Papa” Dickinson, 73, of Hutchinson, died March 14, 2022, at his home. He was born January 25, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Russell B. and Helen E. (Haley) Dickinson.

Gary graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1967, Hutchinson Community College in 1969, and the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 1972. He owned Self Service Drugs from 1981 until 2005. Gary and Nyla also operated Kansas Depot, selling everything related to Thomas the Train. After retirement, he worked at the Kansas State Fair for 15 years. Gary was an avid Blue Dragon basketball fan and a religious water aerobics participant at the YMCA. He loved traveling and traveled to all 50 states and to Maui, Hawaii, every year with Nyla. Gary especially loved spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren in their activities - he played music at Inman, Nickerson, and Hutchinson High school baseball games. He was a member of Downtown Hutchinson Kiwanis Club, serving as Club President and leading the Flag Project, and First United Methodist Church.

On May 15, 1981, Gary married Nyla K. Christian, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, Noelle Regehr (Jeff) of Inman, Jeff Reece (fiancé Amy Ray) of Prairie Village, Jennifer Miller (Cody) of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Jake Regehr (Traci), Wyatt Regehr, Ethan, Erin, and Adaire Reece, Miranda Miller, Lane Miller (Haley); great-grandsons, Jaxson and Greyson Miller; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Russell B. Dickinson, Jr., and in-laws, Leslie and Maybelle Christian.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Lerado Cemetery. Gerald Dwight Hornbaker of Hutchinson
died on March 15, 2022, at age 94. He was born on October 16, 1927, near
Darlow, the son of Vernon Wesner and Laura Rundell Hornbaker. 

On August
8, 1950, he was married to Helen Fast Hornbaker at Zoar Mennonite Brethren
Church near Inman. His service will be held at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel,
300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
Interment will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery south of Hutchinson.

Gerald graduated from Partridge High
School and Emporia State Teachers College, and was a Kansas educator for 38
years. The last 27 years of his career were spent with the Lyons School
District, where he served as a District Administrator and Elementary Principal
at Park School and on Kansas State textbook committees.

A lifetime member of Kiwanis
International, Gerald served as President of the Lyons club. He loved to sing
in the church choir and men’s gospel quartets. He played and coached basketball
and enjoyed rooting for K-State, KU, and the Royals. Each fall, when younger,
he could be found walking fields, hunting pheasants with his sons. He prided
himself on his lawn care and gardening. His sense of humor was infectious.

He leaves to mourn: sons Gordon
(Susan) Hornbaker of Elizabeth, Colorado, and Ron (Kaori) Hornbaker of Austin,
Texas; grandchildren Angela (Dave) Kerschen, Traci Hornbaker, Laura (Jason)
Smith, Grant Hornbaker, Lydia Hornbaker, and Colson Hornbaker. He is also
survived by five great-grandchildren, and by one sister, Esther White of
Haviland. He was preceded in death by his parents, eleven siblings, his wife,
and eldest son, Garret.

Joseph Lee Trimm Sr., 82, of Abbyville, died on March 10, 2022, at his home. He was born April 8, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Joseph and Luella (Voulmer) Trimm.

Joe worked for many years at Morton Salt and then as a newspaper carrier for the Hutchinson News. He loved to watch all sports on TV, especially football. Joe used to take many fishing trips with his wife, Shirley. He loved spending time with friends and family.

In November 1983, he married Shirley Ann Williams, in Hutchinson. They shared 40 years together.

Joe is survived by: wife, Shirley Trimm, Abbyville; daughters, Teresa Trimm, Oregon, Dawna Reske (Frank), Massachusetts, Cindy Perez (Tony), Arizona; son, Joseph Trimm Jr. (Billie Jean), Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Sonya Yorgenson, Kansas City, Margret Sellers, Abbyville; stepson, Michael Miller, Kansas City; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; brothers Garvin Trimm, Warren “Beano” Trimm; and sister, Annie Irwin.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Susan and Sandra; brother, David; stepdaughter, April Ann Miller; and grandson, Troy.

Susan Mary Storm, 74, of Hutchinson, died March 8, 2022, at her home. She was born January 31, 1948, in Wakefield, Massachusetts, to Edward and Elizabeth Moran.

Susan grew up in Wakefield and attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Wakefield High School, graduating in 1966. She began her career with a telephone company in Boston before moving to Kansas and worked in telecommunications for 50 years before retiring AT&amp;T.&nbsp;

On October 9, 1976, Susan married Richard “Don” Storm in Hutchinson. They shared 37 years together before he passed away on June 12, 2014.

Susan is survived by: sons, Richard Storm Jr., Wilmington, Delaware, Mark Storm, Kansas City, Missouri; daughters, Lori Hall (LaBan), Toni Landon (Terry), Tracy Jenkins (Randy), all of Hutchinson; ten grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Michael Moran (Edith), Benita Olivieri (Joseph), Patricia MacKenzie (Kevin), Timothy Moran (Colleen), Elizabeth Moran, Kelly Wood (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Don Storm; and brother, Jeffery Moran.

Ronald “Ron” Lyn Freeman, 77, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022. He was born June 24, 1944 in Medicine Lodge to Archie Levi and Ruby Inez (Hart) Freeman. Ron attended Sun City Schools and graduated in 1962. On September 20, 1963, Ron married Donna Harrison in Medicine Lodge. From that union, 3 children were born, Chris, Ricky and LaRona. They were divorced in 1984. After high school, he went directly into the work force and eventually settled into a job in Winfield, working at the local Coop where he advanced to the assistant Manager position. After 12 years, he moved the family to Mullinville, where he became the manager of the Mullinville Equity Exchange. He worked there for 18 years before taking early retirement at the age of 55 to enjoy other interests. One of those interests lead him to become a Kiowa County Commissioner and he held that office for 12 years. Although Ron’s favorite sport was basketball, his pitching skills on the baseball field lead him to be scouted by the St. Louis Cardinals. Ron obtained his pilot’s license and loved to fly. His love for motorcycles allowed him to enjoy many adventures such as riding to all 105 Kansas county Courthouses and riding to Alaska. After his riding days slowed, Ron could be found at his second home which was any number of casinos in the area. He loved to gamble, usually playing Mississippi Stud, and luck found him many times. He was always known for bring the lottery tickets to family events and spreading the possible “wealth”. Ron enjoy traveling with many friends and his long-time companion, Jeanne Carson. Their trips took them from coast to coast, into Mexico and Canada and a trip to Alaska. Ron is survived by his Sons; Chris (Tammy) Freeman of Wichita and Ricky (D.J.) Robert “Bob” D. Cooper, 84, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2022, surrounded by his family at Hutchinson Health &amp; Rehab.&nbsp; He was a former McPherson Police Officer and retired after 27 years as the Assistant Chief of Police.

He was born on January 24, 1938, in McPherson, the son of Robert Clarence and Sarah Louisa (Cundell) Cooper.&nbsp; He graduated from McPherson High School in 1956.&nbsp; On November 25, 1961, Bob was united in marriage to Vila Marie Lafferty at the Andover Lutheran Church in Windom. This union was blessed with two daughters, Kay and Patti.&nbsp;

Bob served in the National Guard, was a former member of the McPherson American Legion Post #24, and was a 62 year member of McPherson Lodge #172 AF &amp; AM.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 60 years, Vila of the home; two daughters, Kay Graham and husband, Jerry, of McPherson, and Patti Cooper of McPherson; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Cooper.

She worked many years at Lollipop House and taught countless students how to play piano in her home. She loved children, teaching, reading and music. She was a loving wife to her husband Rex Robinson who preceded her in death. 

Also preceded by her parents and brothers Paul and Mark Edwards and sister Noel (Hippy) House. She is survived by her children David Robinson of Kingman, daughters Erin Watkins (George), Kim Plumer, and Kelly Hilleary of Wichita. Seven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild will miss her.

Dean Allen Chapman, 75, of Hutchinson, passed away on March 11, 2022 at Hospice House.&nbsp; He was born on February 5, 1947, in Hutchinson, to Donald and Florence Chapman ( Swenson).

Dean graduated from Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He served in the United States Navy and Air Force.&nbsp; He retired from Salina Scale Company as an Electronics Technician.

Beatrice was a lifelong Hutchinson resident.&nbsp; She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and reading.&nbsp; Beatrice was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, serving as sacristan for many years.&nbsp; She was also a member of the Altar Society.&nbsp; During the Kansas State Fair, Beatrice enjoyed coordinating the volunteer schedule for the church’s food booths.

On June 11, 1949, she married Jesse Almanza, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; He died March 31, 2012, after they shared almost 63 years of marriage.&nbsp;

Ethel Harris Anderson, 93, passed away March 13, 2022, at her residence.&nbsp; She was born July 27, 1928, in rural Reno County, to Henry Charles and Lettie Anetta (Hipp) Luellen.

In 1942, Ethel married James Harris.&nbsp; He passed away in 1968.&nbsp; She married E.O. ‘Bub’ Maynard in 1971.&nbsp; He passed away in 1972.&nbsp; On February 7, 1976, Ethel married Robert ‘Bob’ G. Anderson, in Arlington.&nbsp; He passed away on January 31, 2006.

She is survived by:&nbsp; her children, Betty (Larry) Bishop of Arlington, KS, James J. (Joyce) Harris of Langdon; Louise Rinebold of Cańon City, CO; and Ruth Daharsh of Americus; stepchildren, Karen Maynard Smith of Nathrop, CO; Marlene Anderson (Jim) Roth of Rockwell, TX; and Galen (Debbie) Anderson of Newton; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents; husbands, James Harris, E.O. Maynard, and Robert G. Anderson; three sisters; and two brothers.

Ethel's childhood was simple and humble, often times not even having a permanent home.&nbsp; She was married at a young age to James Harris with whom she raised four children.&nbsp; Following his death, she married Bub Maynard, and following his death, she married Bob Anderson.&nbsp; Those marriages brought in stepchildren who were lovingly added to her family.

Ethel self-taught herself to crochet using baling wire and string from a feed sack.&nbsp; She also taught herself to sew and took knitting lessons.&nbsp; Ethel’s handiwork has gone around the world to men in service and children.&nbsp; She was a member of Stitch-N-Chat Crochet Angels of Hutchinson.&nbsp; Ethel made numerous items of clothing for her family.&nbsp; In addition, she also sewed matching clothing for her daughters' dolls.&nbsp; She crafted quilts, afghans, dollies, bedspreads, tablecloths, and many other items. Often times her family considered her a Master Craftsman, although she would not make that claim.

Ethel enjoyed being involved in the farm as well as her family.&nbsp; She enjoyed working outside the home, including cooking for the grade school, Carolyn's, helping out at the Pastime and Haven Grocery, and other places.

John served 35 years in the military, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. His military career included, the United States Air Force, the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard. John was a man of many talents who loved rock carving, planting flowers and building fish ponds. John retired as a Msgt. from Hutchinson Correctional Facility in 2010.

John is survived by: wife, Kathleen of the home; daughter, Danna (Steve Dick) Dankanyin, Hutchinson; son, Paul (Nathalie) Dankanyin, Canada; granddaughter, Brandi Buzzard, TX; grandson, Jackson Buzzard, Hutchinson; brother, Paul (Brenda) Dankanyin, DE; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Pam) Cavanaugh, WI, John (LeAnne) Cavanaugh, SC; former son-in-law, Mike Buzzard, Inman; and his beloved dog Ol’ Cavanaugh.

Georgia Lee Pierson passed swiftly into the arms of the Lord on March 11,2022, at the age of 92. She was born on August 3,1929, to Carroll and Mildred Robinson.

Georgia married Gibbo Pierson on April 22,1947, after three months of courtship. They shared 75 years of marriage.

Georgia, together with her husband, ran a leather shop, Gibbo’s Saddle and Leather, out of their home for 65 years. In later years she enjoyed volunteering at the HRMC gift shop. In addition to leather crafting, Georgia was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed doing various needlework projects, crocheting, and reading. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and in 1947, she joined a national women's motorcycle club, The Motor Maids. Her last ride was in 2017, at age 88. Georgia was a dedicated wife and mother, creating a loving Christian home for her family. After raising their daughters, Georgia and Gibbo enjoyed many years of traveling the world together.

Georgia is survived by: her husband; two daughters, Bonny Pierson and Bunny Dellinger; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; brother, Mike Robinson; and sister, Corliss Stinbrink.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; son-in-law, Ed Dellinger; brother, Jack Robinson; sisters, Donna Tull, Karen Robinson, and Carlene Wiens.

Don Thompson was born October 21, 1931, in Montgomery County, Iowa, to Ted and Arvella Thompson and grew up on the family farm near Elliott, Iowa. He attended school his first few years in country school, and completed elementary and high school in Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Lorraine, who died at the age of three (1928), his parents Ted (1966) and Arvella (1987), and his daughter Shirley Lorraine (2012). He is survived by his wife Janet, sons Dean, Brian, Stuart, and Glendon, and 15 grandchildren and their families.

He entered the U.S. Navy in 1950 and served aboard the USS Latimer, APA-152, which was deployed to numerous locations in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. He was honorably discharged in 1954, then purchased a farm near that of his parents. In 1955, he was introduced to Janet Sothman of Lyman, Iowa, and after a short courtship they were married.

In 1969, he and Janet moved their family to Douglas County, Missouri, where he farmed and was employed by Kraft Foods in Springfield. In 1975, they moved to a smaller farm near Elkland, Missouri. After he retired from Kraft, they moved to Marshfield, Missouri, in 1993. In 2007, they moved to Wichita, where they remain today.

Over the years, he and the family attended Lyman Gospel Hall in Iowa, Southeast Gospel Chapel in Springfield, and Northside Bible Chapel in Kechi. During all this time, he enjoyed physically helping in all aspects of the assemblies and affiliated bible camps. Studying God’s word was a favorite pastime.

During his lifetime he enjoyed shooting sports, playing the piano, studying World War II history, and playing with his grandchildren. He had a special interest and skill in fabricating tools, equipment, and implements, especially those that involved welding. He used those skills when he started a dirt working business and manufactured attachments for his skid loader.

He is and will be sorely missed by all his family, who take great comfort in the certainty of spending eternity with him in heaven.

A Cunningham resident from birth till Joe took a promotion and moved to Healdton, Ok. in 1969.&nbsp; They returned to Cunningham in 1984, after some years in Chase. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother,&nbsp; and great great grandmother.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church,&nbsp; Cunningham. She was a member of Altar Society,&nbsp; and former member of the Daughters of Isabella and The Legion of Mary. After Joe's passing she joined the Sister's of Habit out of Kingman. She had many great times performing with the group and many great memories!

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the Sacred Heart Church, Cunningham followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.

Rita G. Theis was born July 29, 1930 at Cunningham, and died at Hilltop Manor March 13, 2022. Her parents were Alf and Ruth Wilson Cooley.On October 14, 1947 she married Joseph A. Theis at Cunningham.They had three son's, Dennis (Pam), Larned; Dan (Pat), Cunningham; David (Cindy), Pampa, Tx. Jane Anne (Regier) Wedel, 92, was born February 6, 1929 to Herb and Rosa (Steiner) Regier in Newton.

She attended elementary and high school in Moundridge.

Jane and Milford were married on February 6, 1948.&nbsp; They were blessed with 73 wonderful years together.&nbsp; Three children were born to this union, Susan Kay, David Ray, and Danna Gay.&nbsp; Jane and Milford lived in Moundridge until retirement in 1991.&nbsp; Jane had worked in the Moundridge Café, Citizen’s State Bank and was an insurance processor at Bethel Clinic for 25 years.&nbsp; Upon retirement they moved to Grand Lake Oklahoma where they had previously spent many weekend getaways.&nbsp; After 20 years on the lake, they moved to McPherson.

Jane was baptized in West Zion Mennonite Church where she and Milford were members all their married years.

Jane’s hobby and number one love in life was quilting.&nbsp; All family members have been honored with and gifted numerous quilts for many special occasions.&nbsp; She had a very special gift and talent.&nbsp; She will always be remembered for her beautiful quilts and her love, time and energy that went into each final masterpiece.&nbsp; Her second love was fishing.&nbsp; She could filet a fish in a blink of an eye.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Rosa (Steiner) Regier; husband, Milford Wedel; a brother-in-law, Warren “Red” Stadalman.

Survivors include; daughter, Susan Leonard (Joe) of Hutchinson; son, Dave Wedel (Mindi) of McPherson; daughter, Danna Owens (Scott) of McPherson; grandchildren, Shelly (Troy) Helm, Parker, CO, Rhonda (Jon) James, Pawnee, OK, Todd (Michelle) Leonard, Overland Park; Tisha (Jason) Hoover, McPherson; Chad (Jill) Wedel, McPherson; Kindra (Craig) Schmidt, Moundridge; Chance (Heidi) Pearson, McPherson; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Bernice Stadalman, Margie Huxman (Richard), Mae Dee Davies; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 25, 2022 at West Zion Mennonite Church. Cremation is planned with a private inurnment at West Zion Cemetery, Moundridge.

John P. Kasney passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 in Wichita Kansas. He was born in Wichita, to Jack Edward Kasney and Virginia Louise (Chance) Kasney. He was raised in the Wichita Maize area and attended Maize Schools.  After graduation he went on to become an Iron Worker in construction as a Crane Operator for 30 plus years with Griffith Steel.

John enjoyed being in the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and riding his Harleys.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Virginia Kasney and his brother Jack E Kasney Jr.

John is survived by his sister Susan L Valle, 2 nephews, 3 nieces, other family and friends.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the Maize Park Cemetery, 12733 W. 53rd St. N., Maize.

Francisca’s life began on September 17, 1928, in Matanzas, Cuba. She is the third of five children born to Luis and Julia (Medina) Castillo. 

She received a degree in accounting and went on to work for a business in Cuba in that field. Francisca married Orlando De La Rosa in April of 1957. Two girls were born into this relationship. When Castro took over Cuba, both Orlando and Francisca were removed from their jobs and forced into menial labor. When given the choice they decided they would leave Cuba with one suitcase for the four of them and move to the United States in 1970. Francisca took a job working for Del Mar Blinds in California. She was always willing to do whatever it took to make sure her daughters could enjoy the freedom she had lost in Cuba. Francisca loved to craft, sew, crochet, and knit. She was also an avid gardener and grew a variety of flowers. Most of all, Francisca loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was that love of family that led to her moving to Kansas in 2000 so she could be a part of their lives.

Francisca is survived by her daughter Millie (Dean) Claassen, of Whitewater; grandchildren; Adriana (Brock) Pena, of Emporia; Michael (Natalie) Claassen, of Newton; Daniel (Morgan) Claassen, of Emporia; and great-grandchildren; Gracelyn, Natalie, Lydia, Kaylie, and Rori.

Some of those included having to learn to cook when her second daughter was born since their servants were taken by Castro. Having to learn a new language at 42 when she moved to the states. Having to raise her daughters by herself four years later when her husband passed away. Having to learn to deal with cold and snow when she moved to Kansas. She regularly said if God wills then we’ll do this cheerfully. She is preceded in death by her husband Orlando and daughter Aurora De La Rosa.

Graveside service, led by Pastor Tim Mace, will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Haldeman Cemetery, Potwin.

Gary Edward Duerson, 80, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 at his home. He was born on January 6, 1942 in Fort Scott to Lyle Edward and Nellie Ossee (Kent) Duerson. 

Gary married Alice Brooks on November 24, 1972 at the First Church of God, Wichita. They were married for 49 years.

Gary attended and graduated from Valley Center High School in Valley Center. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator until retirement. He was a member of Lion of Judah Praise Fellowship, Preston. He enjoyed driving trucks and loved training and showing horses.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; sons, Jerry Brooks, Gary Duerson and John Duerson; niece, Toni Ann Schneider; nephews, Jake Wessel and Luke Wessel; and grandchildren, Shane Schesso, Edward Duerson, Johnathan Duerson, Tyler Duerson and Alex Duerson. Gary is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Baby boy Duerson; and sister, Sara Snyder.

Visitation with family present will be Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Lion of Judah Praise Fellowship, Preston, KS. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at Lion of Judah Praise Fellowship, Preston, KS with Dr. Kenneth A. Stanton presiding. Terry Lee Cosby, 69, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019. He was born on September 3, 1950 in Greensburg to Clifford and Ruby (Ray) Cosby. Terry opened the First Pizza Hut in Pratt as manager they transferred him to Perryton, Texas. A few years later he moved to Wichita and worked for Boeing for 20 years. He was currently working for Central Plains Maintenance in Wichita as a janitor and custodian. He is survived by his brother, Larry Cosby and two nephews, Lance and Chad Cosby all of Pratt. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ruby (Ray) Cosby. Graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday March 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka, at Ruby Cosby and Terry's Service with John Hamm presiding.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Donald Herman Turnquist, 96, a lifetime Lindsborg, area resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Bethany Home in Lindsborg.&nbsp; He was a farmer and stockman.

Don was born on August 1, 1925, in McPherson, the son of Herman Valentin and Helen Elizabeth (Nelson) Turnquist.&nbsp; He graduated from Lindsborg High school in 1943.&nbsp; On October 2, 1948, Don was united in marriage to Geneva Mae Schafer in McPherson.&nbsp; This union was blessed with four children, Steve, Larry, Bryce, and Donna.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 73 years, Geneva Turnquist of Lindsborg; four children, Steven (Michele) Turnquist of Austin, TX; Larry (Kathy) Turnquist of Salina; Bryce (Patty) Turnquist of Lindsborg; and Donna (Emery) Wiens of Topeka; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, John Turnquist, and a sister, Dorothy Fisher.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsborg.&nbsp; A private graveside service will be at the Freemount Lutheran Church Cemetery.&nbsp;
