David Wayne Poor, 65, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Douglass.

David was born in Long Beach, California to Violet Mae (Turner) Poor and James Lafeyette Poor, Sr. He was a long-time resident of Wichita and Douglass, Kansas. He attended East High School, Wichita, Kansas. He worked at Boeing Aircraft until he was disabled by a cerebral hemorrhage in 1980. Prior to that he also completed 6 years in the Army National Guard, activated during two crises; The El Dorado flooding and the Kansas Firefighters Labor Strike in September of 1978. He received a Kansas National Guard Service medal and a Kansas State Emergency Duty Service Ribbon. He enjoyed working on cars, watching television, drinking coffee with his friends and fishing.

David is survived by his children, Jackie Utz of Wichita; Jeremy Poor (Lisa) of Grand Junction, CO; and Marisa Newfelt (Chris) of Wichita; his two sisters, Donna Kay Haberle of El Dorado Springs, MO and Carmel Poor of Wichita, KS; grandchildren include: Alyssa Hutsell (Curtis) of Derby; Devin Utz of Mulvane; Tommy, Johnny & Joey Poor, all of Grand Junction, Co; great grandchildren include: Connor Shurtleff and Alaina Hutsell, both of Derby; cousins: Jody Turner (Sonya) of Douglass, and Randy Turner; and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Poor, Sr, Violet Poor, brothers: James Lafeyette Poor, Jr and Gary Richard Poor.
