Perry "Bub" Wayne Waltman, 86, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 in Newton.  He was born in Eureka, to his parents  Elza Percy Waltman and Clemma Cecil (Black) Waltman. He was a resident of Newton. He graduated from Rosalia High School.  After graduation he joined the Army and served from 1955-1958 he was based in Germany during most of that time. Perry enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved to watch KU basketball.

He was preceded in death by his dad Elza Percy Waltman, mother Clemma Cecil Waltman, sisters Maxine Osmundson and Mary Leanna Lewis, brothers Harold "Sarge" Waltman, Glenn Waltman and J.B. Waltman, nephews Mark Osmundson and Richard Waltman, wives Iris Waltman and Carolyn Waltman.

Perry is survived by his son Steve Waltman (Cindy) and daughter Vanessa Robinson, two grandsons Jeffery and Dallas Gillmore, several nephews and nieces Craig Waltman, Sherri Engels, Connie Osmundson, Linda and Larry Lewis.

Judy Clary passed peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2022, in Wichita.  She was born in Wichita to Richard Charles Hatfield and Dee Frone (Garlock) Hatfield. 

 She was a lifelong resident of Wichita, where she graduated Wichita North High in 1952.  After graduation she married the love of her life Kenneth D. Clary.  Judy joined the staff of Wichita North High School and worked very happily until her retirement.  Judy had many great joys in her life including her husband Ken, three children, Jill Clary, Becky Williamson (Terry) and Kenny Clary (Lisa), nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.  Her family was her pure joy and loved nothing more than to cook for them and make cowboy beds on the floor so grandchildren could spend the night. Judy was an avid reader and loved nothing more than to sit down with a good Nora Roberts and Diet Coke.  

The family will gather Tuesday, July 5, 2022, 4-7 pm at Riverside Christian Church, 1001 Litchfield, Wichita, 67203.  We welcome all who knew and loved Judy.

E. Dean Regehr, 80, died June 28, 2022, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born November 19, 1941, in Hutchinson, the son of Elmer and Dorothy Ratzlaff Regehr.&nbsp; 

A graduate of Inman High School, he was also a graduate of McPherson College and had received his master’s in education in Alva, OK.&nbsp; Dean was a teacher all his life, teaching in Culver, Medicine Lodge, Haviland, and the longest time at Hutchinson High School, where he was the Industrial Arts Teacher. Most recently he was a teacher at Bob Johnson’s.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was a football and basketball referee for high school and college and a driver’s ed teacher for Hutchinson High School.

Dean was a Member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman, a member of the Little Valley Township Board, loved to go boating, was an avid arborist, and farmed on his parent’s farm for a lot of his life.

He married Lois Ann Wedel on September 14, 1962, in Inman.&nbsp; She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Randall (Janelle Hanson) Regehr, Wichita, and Gregory Dale Regehr, Inman; 3 grandchildren, Meghan Kay Regehr, Kursten Louise Regehr, and Matthew Randall (McKenna) Regehr; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Regehr, Inman.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Regehr.

Cremation has taken place.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman.&nbsp; The service will be live streamed and can be seen on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook page or the church website.&nbsp;

Beverly Lynn Musgrove, 60, of North Newton, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022. Beverly was born on May 4, 1962 to Robert Eugene and E. Berniece (Drew) Musgrove. She grew up on the family farm outside of Rolla, Kansas.

&nbsp;Following graduation from Ulysses High School in 1980, Beverly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Southern Colorado in 1985. She returned to the family farm and spent the majority of her life farming alongside her family.

She loved nature and could usually be found outside. She enjoyed mowing the yard, driving the tractor, spending time with the farm cats and dogs, and she could be counted on to make something crafty out of whatever she found in nature. The mountains brought her spirit peace.

Lifelong learning was a passion. She loved learning about the local history wherever she found herself. She was an avid student of the Santa Fe Trail, fossils, gems, and rocks. She enjoyed being a member of the McPherson Gem and Rock Society and was often seen attending local history lectures at the public library.

Beverly’s unique way of living made her a memorable person. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Eugene and E. Berniece Musgrove. She is survived by her brothers, Ted Musgrove and his wife, Parvin, and Tod Musgrove and his wife, Ramona; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many close friends.

Nancy Kay Reinert, 71, of Hutchinson, passed away June 28, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, in Wichita, after a brief illness. She was born May 8, 1951, in Axtell, to Barney and Elaine Schneider.

Nancy graduated from Marysville High School and attended Kansas State University, where she met Russell Reinert.

Nancy and Russell were married at Seven Dolors Church, in Manhattan, on July 3, 1971. They would have celebrated 51 years of marriage this weekend. They were blessed with a daughter and a son.

Nancy was a long-term employee of Luminous Neon, in charge of accounting and numerous business functions of the sign company. Retiring in 2013, she enjoyed the monthly breakfast meetings with fellow Luminous Neon alumni.

Retirement allowed Nancy to volunteer at Trinity United Methodist Church preparing meals for the Christian Soup Ministry, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program for low-income taxpayers, and Department of Aging, assisting individuals with selecting cost-effective supplemental health insurance. She was active in her local P.E.O. Chapter, Treasurer of Noon Tycoons Investment Club, and truly enjoyed her Monday Morning Scuttlebutt’s Coffee Group.

In addition to her husband, Russell, Nancy is survived by: her daughter Rochelle (Michael) Wertz of Canton, GA; her son, John (Sammie) Reinert of Lenexa; brothers, Jay (Brenda) Schneider of Beattie, Dan (Kristy) Schneider of Longmont CO; sisters, Sandi Smith of Overland Park, Barbie (Ken) Kickhaefer of Marysville; brother-in-law, Vince Gentuso of Hot Springs Village, AR; and a significant number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: both her parents in 2020; toddler brother, Gary in 1958; and sister, Teresa Gentuso of Hot Springs Village, AR, in 2018.

She was a seamstress and worked for Midwest Sewing.&nbsp; On June 5, 1966, she married Joel Hanavan.&nbsp; They shared 30 years of marriage prior to his
death on October 27, 1996.&nbsp; On July 8,
2008, Marsha and Don Jordan became partners.&nbsp;
Marsha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was an active member of
the Salt City Cruisers Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel; and a sister,
Winona Ragsdale.

Dennis Lee Byard, 73, passed away June 27, 2022, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.&nbsp; He was born April 29, 1949, in Lyons, to Howard Stanley and Dorothy Lee (Poland) Byard.

Dennis was a graduate of Lyons High School, Lyons, KS.&nbsp; He served in the United States Navy from June 1968 to March 1972.&nbsp; After his military service, Dennis attended and graduated from Salt City Business College, Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring with over 30 years of service.

On August 7, 1976, Dennis married Vickie J. Johannsen, in Sterling, KS.&nbsp; They shared over 45 years of marriage.

He is survived by:&nbsp; wife, Vickie J. Byard of Hutchinson; children, Christopher (Nikkee) Byard, Maegan (Matthew Morales) Byard, and Matthew (Christina) Byard, all of Hutchinson; sister, Sherry (John Ruperight) Myers of Salina, KS; and grandchildren, Avery, Korree, Tanner, Jace, Noah, Emily, Maylee, and Ada.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.

Curtis married Gladys (Page) Lofton . They were married for years 50 years. They lived in Turon for 13 years after moving from New Mexico. He worked as a paint and Body Service technician. . He is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons, Clayton (Heather) Lofton of Turon; Roscoe Lee Lofton of Montrose, Colorado; Clyde Lofton of West Virginia; and Lawrence Lofton of Salina; daughters, Susan (Verny) Wood of Turon; and Theresa Lofton of Pratt; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Dorothy Gail James passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, in Wichita. She was 77.

Dorothy was born on Sept. 3, 1944, in New York City to Masel (Dewis) Maines and William Paul Franke. She spent her childhood in the Washington Heights neighborhood in Manhattan.

In her teens, she worked as a waitress at the iconic Bickford’s diner near Times Square, where she remembered serving a young Dick Van Dyke, then performing on Broadway in&nbsp;Bye Bye Birdie. Bickford’s is also where in 1960 Dorothy met Lyle Stice, a US Navy sailor from Ordway, Colo. Dorothy and Lyle married in January 1961.

Dorothy spent her early married life with her in-laws in Colorado while Lyle was at sea. Her mother-in-law, Lillian Vickers, taught Dorothy how to tend roses, a passion that continued throughout her life.

Navy life took the young couple from coast-to-coast, including to Charleston, S.C., where their son Douglas was born in 1964. Eventually the family settled in Arvada, Colo. Dorothy and Lyle divorced in 1977.

Dorothy married again in 1982 and moved with her new husband, Larry James, to Poteau, Okla. In Poteau, Dorothy worked at a local grocery store and, later, in the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center (EOMC) cafeteria until she retired.

After retiring, Dorothy was an active member of the EOMC Auxiliary and spent many hours volunteering at the hospital gift shop. She also assisted in the children’s ministry at First United Methodist Church in Poteau. Always a creative spirit, Dorothy liked to knit and crochet items that she donated for fundraising events.

In her 50s, Dorothy discovered video games. She especially enjoyed playing online with her son and grandchildren who lived far away. She could spend hours discussing game strategies with them. A highlight of her gaming career was a 2006 road trip with her son and two of her grandchildren to GenCon, a gaming convention. She delighted in surprising younger players with her gaming knowledge.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry James, and her parents. She is survived by a son, Douglas (Tammy), Wichita; three grandchildren, Deidre (Bryan) Caswell, Wichita; Alicia (Guin) Stice, Tulsa, Okla.; and Bryon (Sarah) Stice, Del City, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren.

Dorothy and Lyle married in January 1961.Dorothy spent her early married life with her in-laws in Colorado while Lyle was at sea. Her mother-in-law, Lillian Vickers, taught Dorothy how to tend roses, a passion that continued throughout her life.Navy life took the young couple from coast-to-coast, including to Charleston, S.C., where their son Douglas was born in 1964. Eventually the family settled in Arvada, Colo. Dorothy and Lyle divorced in 1977.Dorothy married again in 1982 and moved with her new husband, Larry James, to Poteau, Okla. In Poteau, Dorothy worked at a local grocery store and, later, in the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center (EOMC) cafeteria until she retired.After retiring, Dorothy was an active member of the EOMC Auxiliary and spent many hours volunteering at the hospital gift shop. She also assisted in the children’s ministry at First United Methodist Church in Poteau. Always a creative spirit, Dorothy liked to knit and crochet items that she donated for fundraising events.In her 50s, Dorothy discovered video games. She especially enjoyed playing online with her son and grandchildren who lived far away. She could spend hours discussing game strategies with them. A highlight of her gaming career was a 2006 road trip with her son and two of her grandchildren to GenCon, a gaming convention. She delighted in surprising younger players with her gaming knowledge.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry James, and her parents. She is survived by a son, Douglas (Tammy), Wichita; three grandchildren, Deidre (Bryan) Caswell, Wichita; Alicia (Guin) Stice, Tulsa, Okla.; and Bryon (Sarah) Stice, Del City, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren.

Esther (Durler) Burkhart, 96, died June 26, 2022, at Southwind at Spearville.&nbsp; She was born February 26, 1926, to Engelbert and Stephannie (Habiger) Durler, in Spearville.

Esther married Elred Burkhart August 21, 1945, in Spearville.&nbsp; They shared over 66 years of marriage before Elred died on September 8, 2011.

Esther and Elred made their home on a dairy farm north of Kinsley, in the Saints Peter and Paul Community.&nbsp; They had nine children.&nbsp; Besides being a homemaker, Esther helped on the farm, milking the cows, driving the wheat truck, and doing anything else she was asked to do. In 2006 after retirement, Esther and Elred moved to Hutchinson.

Esther was active in the church where she served on several commissions and was an Eucharistic Minister.&nbsp; She was a member of the Altar Society, Harvest House, and Daughters of Isabella for over 61 years.

Esther was on a Kinsley Bowling team which went to state several years.&nbsp; She was a community and project leader for the Northern Star 4-H Club. Esther also enjoyed working on the township election board.&nbsp; She loved playing dominoes and bunko, helping to organize groups in both Kinsley and Hutchinson.&nbsp; Esther always had a joke to tell, whether it was telling it to her family and friends or to her doctors.

Esther is preceded in death by:&nbsp; her husband, Elred; son, Kenneth; great-grandchildren, twins Mason and Madison Burr and Reagan Clark; brothers, Joseph, John, Edward, and Robert; and sisters, Eleanora, Sister Evarista, and Irene.

Daniel Lee “Danny” Demoret, 70, died June 26, 2022, at Hospice House. He was born June 6, 1952, in Hutchinson, to William R. and Lola F. (Uncapher) Demoret.

Danny attended Hutchinson schools. He served in the United States Navy from 1969-1970 and the Kansas Army National Guard until 1977. Danny worked as a roofer and then plumber at Liberty Mobile Homes for 25 years until they closed. He then worked as a maintenance man for Gisan Shaban. Danny loved spending time with his family and singing and dancing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was of the Christian faith.

On March 25, 1972, Danny married Vickie Lynn Blanton, in Hutchinson. She died December 19, 2005.

He is survived by: his daughters, Melinda Demoret of Hutchinson, Stephanie Brewer and her husband Brandon of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Danielle Demoret, James Goldsberry, Harmony Demoret, William Demoret, Christian Pruitt, Andrew Pruitt, Levi Blanton, Amreza Blanton, Lakeynn Brewer, Arianna Brewer; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Demoret and wife Vickie of Hutchinson; sister, Sue Gore of Hutchinson; son-in-law, David Goldsberry of Luray; and many extended family members.

Judith (Judy) Kay Rudolph 74 years old Born June 27, 1947 Judy took her journey to walk with the Lord our Savior on June 24, 2022. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Orlena Bonham of McPherson. This is where she was born and raised. Graduating from McPherson High School. Later, she met her husband Loren Rudolph whom she was married to for 53 years. December 15, they would have been celebrating their 54th Anniversary. Judy leaves behind her husband, Loren Rudolph (Goessel), Daughters; Lisa Unruh (Marion), Darla Rudolph (Newton), Jennifer Bryan (Derrick) of Overland Park, Granddaughters; Aaliyah Johnson and Bridget Rudolph (Newton.) She also leaves behind; Mother-In-Law Sharon Smith (Oregon), Brother-In-Law Larry (Ella) Rudolph (Belleville), Sister-In-Laws; Lenora (Andy) Singleton (Spokane, Washington), and Luella Jackson (San Antonio, TX) along with many nieces and nephews which she adored. Judy was surrounded by her loved ones; she was a strong and was fighting the cancer. It was infection that took its toll on her although she fought very hard. Judy and Loren often traveled to Northern Kansas, Oklahoma and California celebrating in many family reunions on both sides of the families. These are cherished memories they shared with their daughters. Judy retired from Bethesda Nursing Home (Goessel) in March 2022. She was employed in Environmental Services for 32 years. She gained additional family through her co-workers. Judy always had a smile or hug for anyone who needed it. She enjoyed spending time with her family and fur babies. She always had a sweet and loving nature that was felt by all. Judy Rudolph is loved by many and will always hold a special place in their hearts. This lady had a heart of gold, as many of her friends would tell you. In life, we loved you dearly, in death we’ll love you still. In our hearts you hold a peace, no one else can ever fill. Duane Smith, 93, of Moundridge, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Pine Village in Moundridge.&nbsp; He was born December 14, 1928 in Greensburg, the son of Alfred A. and Nettie (Koehn) Smith.

Duane was a sales manager at several auto dealerships in the Wichita, Newton and Hutchinson areas.

He was united in marriage to Geneva Smith on September 12, 1948 in Fairview, Oklahoma.&nbsp; She survives of their home.

Duane is also survived by his four sons, Ron Smith (Rosemary) of Wichita, KS., Terrance “Terry” Smith (Jana) of Sedgwick, Loren Smith (Georgia) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Eric Smith (Tracie) of Billings, Oklahoma; two daughters, Carolee Nickel (Ron) of Turpin, OK., and Rita Friesen (Ken) of Moscow; sister Vivian Koehn, Brooksville, Mississippi; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edna Smith and Evelyn Isaac; and two brothers-in-law, Emerson Koehn and Edward Isaac.

Cannon, after a 1 month courtship.&nbsp; They shared 38 years of marriage prior to her death on December 17, 2014. Kenneth graduated from Arlington High School, Arlington, Kansas.&nbsp; He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1944 to 1946, when he was honorably discharged after serving in World War II.&nbsp; Kenneth was the co-owner and manager for Pella Products, Inc. and retired in 1984.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mavis Koestel; a brother, Vincent Koestel; and three sisters, Esther Smalley, Corinne Gibson and Velma Hipp.Kenneth is survived by his five children, Gary (Susan) Koestel, Cindy Koestel, Kim (Chris) Humiston, all of Hutchinson, Janet (Daniel) Mora of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Pam (Craig) Hietmann of Richardson, Texas; three step- children, Steve (Diane) Cannon of Hutchinson, Greg (Debbie) Cannon of Maize and Chris (Kathy) Cannon of Hutchinson; 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren. Crystal Marie Rising Phillips passed beyond the veil on Friday June 24, 2022.

She was born on June 15, 1978 in Toledo Ohio to Robert Rising and Dorothy Mortimer Rising.

She is survived by her son Taylin Phillips of Herington, daughter Natalie Phillips of Herington as well as her former husband, father of her children and best friend Jimmy R. Phillips Jr of Herington Kansas. She is also survived by her Mother Dorothy and Stepfather Jimmy Daugherty of Lakeland Florida, and her father Robert Rising of Maumee Ohio. &nbsp;She also leaves behind brothers Marc Rising of Las Vegas Nevada, Ryan Rising of Las Vegas Nevada, Shane Rising of Springville Utah, Robbie Rising of Toledo Ohio, Drake Rising of Lambertville Michigan and Aaron Rising of Rossford Ohio. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many many friends from around the world.

She is preceded in death by her Step-Brother Anthony Daugherty of Tulsa Oklahoma.

Crys spent her childhood in Las Vegas, she met her husband Jimmy there and they were married and had two children Taylin and Natalie. She enjoyed working in the Funeral Service Industry where her husband owned Valley Memorial Cremation and Burial in Henderson and Las Vegas. She thoroughly enjoyed serving others in their time of need, especially those forgotten, left behind and young. She later followed Jimmy when he joined the United States Army and they enjoyed traveling the world together with their children, including Hawaii, Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Austria, France, and The Netherlands.

In Honolulu Hawaii, Hickam Air Force Base Crys was the accountant for the Hickam Officers Club where she enjoyed serving and made many new friends. In Germany, Crys was a librarian for Moral Welfare and Recreation assigned to US Army Garrison Ansbach. She enjoyed this assignment as it combined the two passions in her life, reading and making new friends. She was greatly loved by many in the Garrison and continued lifelong friendships from her time there. Crys enjoyed the opportunity to travel and share the world with her children and encouraged them to live life as an adventure and never stop trying something new. &nbsp;She happily served as a military spouse for decades supporting her heavily deployed husband with honor and commitment, as well as raising her children on her own for great amounts of time.&nbsp; Crys served her country and did it well.

Crys was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.&nbsp; She was sealed to her family for all time and eternity in the Washington DC Temple.&nbsp; She thoroughly enjoyed serving her Heavenly Father &nbsp;through the Bishops Storehouse distributing food to the needy.&nbsp; She served in the community whenever a neighbor was in need. &nbsp;Her home was always open to visiting missionaries and considered them her foster children.&nbsp; Her home and dinner table was a destination of choice for home cooking, games and fun.&nbsp;

Crys “belonged” to two dogs which preceded her in death. The Chinese Shar-pei, Beetle Bailey, as well as the much-loved Yorkshire Terrier, Charlie Brown.&nbsp; She is survived by the Dinmont Dandy, Jade who mourns for her greatly.

Crys was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August of 2020. She fought for two years with intense chemotherapy, radiation therapy as well as endured a double mastectomy.&nbsp; The day before Crys passed beyond the veil she was adamant she was continuing to fight and would beat this cancer. She said “I don’t need Hospice, I am going to beat this and walk out of here”, that is the Crys we all knew and loved.&nbsp; She absolutely never gave up, no matter how sick, miserable or downtrodden she felt.&nbsp; Her friends and family lifted her high and encouraged her and we know that when she could no longer continue, our Heavenly Father picked her up and carried her further.&nbsp;

Private services will be held with the family.

Crystal Marie Rising Phillips passed beyond the veil on Friday June 24, 2022.She was born on June 15, 1978 in Toledo Ohio to Robert Rising and Dorothy Mortimer Rising.She is survived by her son Taylin Phillips of Herington, daughter Natalie Phillips of Herington as well as her former husband, father of her children and best friend Jimmy R. Phillips Jr of Herington Kansas. She is also survived by her Mother Dorothy and Stepfather Jimmy Daugherty of Lakeland Florida, and her father Robert Rising of Maumee Ohio. &nbsp;She also leaves behind brothers Marc Rising of Las Vegas Nevada, Ryan Rising of Las Vegas Nevada, Shane Rising of Springville Utah, Robbie Rising of Toledo Ohio, Drake Rising of Lambertville Michigan and Aaron Rising of Rossford Ohio. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many many friends from around the world.She is preceded in death by her Step-Brother Anthony Daugherty of Tulsa Oklahoma.Crys spent her childhood in Las Vegas, she met her husband Jimmy there and they were married and had two children Taylin and Natalie. She enjoyed working in the Funeral Service Industry where her husband owned Valley Memorial Cremation and Burial in Henderson and Las Vegas. Orval J. Koehn, 81, of Moundridge, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at his home in Moundridge.&nbsp; He was born April 19, 1941 in Galva, the son of Jesse and Hazel (Unruh) Koehn.

Orval was an accomplished tool and die machinist.&nbsp; He worked 27 years for Excel Industries, Inc. and 11 years for Agco Corporation, both of Hesston.&nbsp; Orval retired in 2011.

He was a member of Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in Moundridge.

Orval was united in marriage to Bertha Jane Becker on April 2, 1965 at Lone Tree Mennonite Church in Galva.&nbsp; She survives of their home.

Other survivors include his five daughters, Darlene Decker and her husband Darwin of Scott City, Ks., Sandra Johnson and her husband Jeremy of Moundridge, Deann Dirks, Loretta Unruh and her husband Joe, all of Paxton, Nebraska, and Trula Koehn of the home; four brothers, John Koehn, Allen (Rowena) Koehn, all of Moundridge, Glen (Nina) Koehn, Big Cabin, Oklahoma, Floyd (Wanda) Koehn, Stapleton, Georgia; sister Letha (Paul) Royer, Hillsboro, KS.; sister-in-law, Gloria Koehn, Moundridge; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Gary Louis Stauffer, 87, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away peacefully on April 13 of this year. Gary was born in Omaha, Neb., to Frank L and Cleota Grace (Correll) Funk. After his parent’s divorce, he moved with his mom and two sisters, Betty (Funk) Hilleren and Jean (Funk) Keller, to St. John, Kan., where Cleo married Emmett Stauffer. They added three more children, Michael Stauffer, Byron Stauffer and Sharon (Stauffer) Bowman to the family.

Gary served in the Army for a short period, before marrying Linda Lou Johnson in 1959. Together they raised two children, Gerald Lee Stauffer and Larisa Lynn (Stauffer) Schmidt, in Pratt. Gary was a self-employed construction engineer, providing essential services to Pratt and surrounding communities. An avid reader and traveler, Gary shared his love of life and adventure with his family through many fondly remembered family trips.

He is survived only by his brother, Michael, and daughter, Larisa. The graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, June 28 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt. An informal gathering and celebration of Gary’s life will be held in St. John afterwards.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sharon Kay Hill passed away, age 71, June 20, 2022 surrounded by her family and close friends.

She was born in Timbo, Arkansas, on March 18, 1951,

Sharon is preceded by her oldest son Kurt Richardson and sister, Shiela Hargraves.

She is survived by her husband Adam Hill, son Nicholas Richardson and two grandchildren.

She left behind many friends and family in both Arkansas and Kansas. All who knew her, loved her and she will be greatly missed. A special thanks from her family to Lane and Cavette Dake, Elise Czarnowsky, and the many others who made her last days comfortable. She loved you all.

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Priess) Knapp, of Houston, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Houston, Texas. &nbsp;She was born on October 7, 1965 in Youngstown, Ohio to Jarrell and Janet Priess. &nbsp;She moved to Wichita, as a toddler, then the family relocated to Clear Lake in 1969 to join the growing space industry. &nbsp;Cindy graduated from Clear Lake High School, just like her two daughters, and went on to attend Sam Houston State University.

Cindy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. &nbsp;Her favorite activity was spoiling her daughters, new grandson, and three granddogs, Jewel, Scarlett, and Allie. &nbsp;Cindy enjoyed volunteering with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for many years, live country music, classic 80’s rock and roll, playing cards, watching Friends, and attending musicals.&nbsp; 

Friends and family remember Cindy for her kindness, witty sense of humor, and loving, generous nature.&nbsp; She was devoted to her job as a Senior Analyst, Commercial Contracts at Enbridge Inc., and spoke fondly of the many colleagues and friends made during her lengthy career in the oil and gas industry.

Donna Mae Tankersley, 87, of Hutchinson, died June 20, 2022, at Sunshine Meadows in Buhler. She was born August 26, 1934, in Wichita, to Elwood “Dick” and Floy (Williams) Dague.

Donna graduated from high school in Wichita. She worked as a bookkeeper for over 60 years, 20 of those years being with Bogue Iron in Wichita. Over the years, Donna lived in Wichita, Hutchinson, Manhattan, and Anchorage, Alaska. She enjoyed boating and was a talented water skier and she enjoyed playing blackjack.

She was married to Donald Gene Tankersley, for over 50 years before his passing on November 25, 2009.

Donna is survived by: her brother, Elwood “Dick” Dague Jr.; son, Scott Tankersley (Sandy), Hutchinson; daughter, Stacy Ayres (Tim), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Shawna Tankersley, Nikki Tankersley, Justin Tankersley (Angie), Wendy McBride (Josh) and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Don Tankersley; son, Steve Tankersley and sisters, Norma Pallet and Katy Smoot.

Judy’s life began on July 27, 1961, in Lawrence. She was the daughter of Gene Gerard and Dessie Parthenia (Dean) Bickford. 

Judy had been employed by Barkman Honey Co. in Hillsboro and previously had worked for Scotch Cleaners. She is remembered for her love of her flowers and gardening. Judy was a faithful volunteer for the Marion County Toy Run. She enjoyed cross stitch and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. 

Her loving family includes her longtime partner Robert Thornhill of Ramona; daughter Chelsea (Andrew) Weber of Cedar Point; grandchildren Tucker and Paul Weber and Abigail Smith; and her siblings Joe (Marci) Bickford and Roy (Kaiping) Bickford, both of Lawrence.

Arlyn Frank Tonn, long-time Haven resident, passed away Friday, June 24, at Salem Home, Hillsboro, at the age of 92.&nbsp; He was born July 25, 1929, to Frank and Laura (Stade) Tonn at their home near Haven.

Arlyn received his education at St. Paul's Lutheran School, Haven, and the public schools in Haven.

On June 19, 1949, he married Juanita Fern Schroeder at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clara, Texas.&nbsp; The couple had two children, Arleen and Gary.

Arlyn was primarily an agribusiness man, who enjoyed working side by side with Juanita on their farms.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven, and a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

Arlyn is survivied by daughter, Arleen (Larry) Smith, Burrton; son, Gary Tonn, Haven; five grandchildren, Jennifer McClain, Halstead, Kristopher England, Bentley, Jessica (Cameron) Koster, Buhler, Jordan (Justin) Seuser, Hutchinson, and William (Kara) Tonn, Hutchinson; eleven great-grandchildren, Madison and Matthew McClain, Ava, Audrey, Asher, and Axton Koster, Quinn, Jett, and Wells Seuser, and Maverick and Noah Tonn; three nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; siblings, Laurence Tonn, Frances Meinig, Art Tonn, Ellen Hofford, and Walter Tonn; grandson, Matthew Tonn; and two nephews.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m., with family present from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, at Ott Funeral Home, Haven.&nbsp; The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven, Thursday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Quentin Nuttmann presiding.&nbsp;&nbsp; Burial will be immediately after the service at the church cemetery.

Arlyn Frank Tonn, long-time Haven resident, passed away Friday, June 24, at Salem Home, Hillsboro, at the age of 92.&nbsp; He was born July 25, 1929, to Frank and Laura (Stade) Tonn at their home near Haven.Arlyn received his education at St. Paul's Lutheran School, Haven, and the public schools in Haven.On June 19, 1949, he married Juanita Fern Schroeder at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clara, Texas.&nbsp; The couple had two children, Arleen and Gary.Arlyn was primarily an agribusiness man, who enjoyed working side by side with Juanita on their farms.He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven, and a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.Arlyn is survivied by daughter, Arleen (Larry) Smith, Burrton; son, Gary Tonn, Haven; five grandchildren, Jennifer McClain, Halstead, Kristopher England, Bentley, Jessica (Cameron) Koster, Buhler, Jordan (Justin) Seuser, Hutchinson, and William (Kara) Tonn, Hutchinson; eleven great-grandchildren, Madison and Matthew McClain, Ava, Audrey, Asher, and Axton Koster, Quinn, Jett, and Wells Seuser, and Maverick and Noah Tonn; three nieces and one nephew.He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; siblings, Laurence Tonn, Frances Meinig, Art Tonn, Ellen Hofford, and Walter Tonn; grandson, Matthew Tonn; and two nephews.Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m., with family present from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, at Ott Funeral Home, Haven.&nbsp; The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Haven, Thursday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Quentin Nuttmann presiding.&nbsp;&nbsp; Burial will be immediately after the service at the church cemetery.
