A lifetime of commitment to the rodeo industry earned&nbsp;<a href="https://prorodeo.com/bio/contestant/bronc-rumford/5622">Bronc Rumford</a>&nbsp;the 2022 PRCA Donita Barnes Contract Personnel Lifetime Achievement Award. Rumford, who lives in Abbyville, Kan., has been involved in the rodeo business his entire life. "It hasn't sunk in yet," said Rumford, 71. "It is such a personal award for me. Bob and Donita were close, close friends with my folks. When I turned pro in the early 1970s, I went to what became the Great Lakes Circuit and we rodeoed up there with Bob and Donita. We would leave home and go to Cherokee, Iowa, in May and we would stay up there all summer. I still remember my folks calling Bob and Donita before I went to Cherokee that year, I got my card. My dad said the kids are going to come up there and rodeo with you and you make sure that you work them and if you need anything from them, they do it. My mom told Donita to take care of us and watch after us. "Donita pretty much baby sat me and taught me so much about how to enter and even how to rodeo. The Barnes family has always been special to us and Donita, extremely special. To get an award named after her is really an honor for me. She was such a great lady. I'm just extremely proud to get this award." The Donita Barnes Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Rumford at the PRCA Awards Banquet on Nov. 30 at the South Point in Las Vegas. Other nominees for the 2022 Donita Barnes Lifetime Achievement Award were Edie Longfellow; Grant and Betsy Harris; Jerry Wayne and Judy Olson; and Kay Bleakly. "All the nominees are personal friends of mine and every one of them should win this award," Rumford said. "It is very special to be nominated with those other nominees." Nominees must have been a PRCA member for a minimum of 15 years and cannot have won a yearly contract personnel award within 15 years of the date of nomination. All nominations were reviewed and selected by an external panel. The top five nominees were voted on by any contract personnel members who have participated in at least one rodeo within that rodeo year. "In the rodeo business we have done about everything there is to do," Rumford said. "If I had it to do over, I would probably do the same thing. I wouldn't change the lifestyle. The greatest thing about the rodeo world is the people. There are no better people on Earth than rodeo cowboys in my opinion." &nbsp; Rumford is the father of award-winning clown/barrelman Justin and award-winning secretary Haley Bridwell. Longtime Fort Hays State Rodeo Coach earns lifetime achievement award

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Kansas City Royals catcher&nbsp;Salvador Perez&nbsp;has been named a finalist for a 2022 Louisville Silver Slugger Award, as announced today by Louisville Slugger.

Perez is one of six finalists among American League catchers, joining Toronto’s&nbsp;Alejandro Kirk, Houston’s&nbsp;Martín Maldonado,&nbsp;Oakland’s&nbsp;Sean Murphy, Seattle’s&nbsp;Cal Raleigh&nbsp;and Baltimore’s&nbsp;Adley Rutschman.

Silver Slugger Award winners will be announced on MLB Network during a one-hour telecast starting at 5:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 10.

Perez, a four-time Louisville Silver Slugger winner, led the Royals with 23 home runs in 2022 while posting a .254/.292/.465 (113-for-445, .757 OPS) slashline and 76 RBI, all while missing 41 games due to a left thumb injury that required surgery in June. Despite the missed games, he ranked top-5 among American League catchers (min. 75 games played) in at-bats per RBI (5.43, 1st), at-bats per home run (19.20, 2nd), RBI (3rd), slugging percentage (3rd), isolated power (.212, 3rd), home runs (T-4th), extra-base hits (31, 5th) and OPS (5th). He ranked 5th&nbsp;overall in the American League with a .337 batting average (34-for-101) with runners in scoring position, trailing Minnesota’s&nbsp;Luis Arraez&nbsp;(.366), New York’s&nbsp;Jose Trevino&nbsp;(.355) and&nbsp;Aaron Judge&nbsp;(.346) and Chicago’s&nbsp;Andrew Vaughn&nbsp;(.339). His batting average with runners in scoring position was even higher with 2 outs, as he batted .341 (15-for-44) in those situations. He hit safely in 27 of his last 33 games from Aug. 22-season’s end, batting .333 (43-for-129) which was tied for 6th in the AL in that span. On Oct. 1 in Cleveland—his final game of the year—he went 4-for-4, and his fourth and final hit of the night was a solo home run that marked the 1,274th hit of his career, surpassing&nbsp;Billy Butler&nbsp;(1,273 hits) for sole possession of 8th place in Royals history.

Should Perez win the award (which was established in 1980), it would be his fifth career honor, following 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2021. His four Silver Slugger Awards are the most in franchise history, one more than Hall of Famer&nbsp;George Brett. BALDWIN CITY, Kan.-&nbsp;Just two days before celebrating the birthday of the Kansas Shrine Bowl (October 29th, 1974) the Board of Directors, staff, participants, ambassadors, corporate partners, and nobles across Kansas are proud to announce a donation of $125,000 as a result of the 2022 event held Saturday, July 23rd&nbsp;in Pittsburg.

The Donation includes $100,000 directly to Shriners Children’s and a $5,000 contribution to the transportation fund of each of the five Shrine Temples in Kansas, helping provide transportation to all appointments at no cost to patients and their families.

According to Shriners Children’s, a gift of this significant size assures that a scoliosis patient, just like 2022 Honorary Captain, Malorie Bogle, can receive the needed spinal fusion surgery and the months of total care needed.&nbsp; Since 1974, The Kansas Shrine Bowl has donated $3.7 million to Shriners Children’s.

In addition to this historic contribution, the Kansas Shrine Bowl also provided programming for all-star athletes and musicians from across the state. With the support of Shriners, corporate partners, and participant fundraising, the Kansas Shrine Bowl was able to house, feed, transport, coach, train, and entertain 80 football players, 154 band participants, 189 cheerleaders, 16 patient ambassadors, and more than 30 camp staff for nearly a week. These camps and events continue to make a lasting impact on participants, ambassadors, and families, by showcasing the incredible work of Shriners Children’s.

"We just thought it was for the best of the team,” Giants coach Brian Daboll told reporters Thursday.

Toney was drafted in the first round by the Giants last year and is under contract through the 2024 season with a fifth-year team option.

That makes the trade relatively low risk for the Chiefs, who still have eight selections in next year's draft.

Toney only has two catches for no yards this season in part because of a right hamstring injury he sustained in training camp. He tweaked the injury in Week 2 against Carolina, then hurt his left hamstring in practice earlier this month.

The Chiefs are off this week, which could give Toney time enough to recover — and learn their playbook — before they begin the second half of the season against the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 6 at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Giants were eager to gain draft capital for Toney, who had been bypassed on the depth chart in New York, while the Chiefs were eager to gain a high-upside wide receiver signed for the next two years. Their top two wide receivers, Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster, are scheduled to become free agents after this season.

Toney has only appeared in 12 of a possible 24 games because of injuries and a bout with COVID-19. He has 41 catches for 420 yards, including a game against Dallas last year in which he caught 10 passes for 189 yards.

He was ejected from that game for throwing a punch late in a blowout loss to the Cowboys.

The Chiefs had been looking for help at wide receiver ahead of the Nov. 1 trade deadline. They had recently inquired about Elijah Moore, who had requested a trade from the Jets, and veterans Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

If he's able to stay healthy, Toney could end up being a steal in Kansas City, where Patrick Mahomes has turned a series of lower-profile receivers into stars. And he would do it at a bargain price for the cap-strapped Chiefs, who would owe Toney just over $1.9 million guaranteed next season and $2.5 million in 2024 before the fifth-year option for 2025.

His skillset, which in some ways mimics the departed Tyreek Hill, also fits nicely in coach Andy Reid's scheme. Toney has the speed to beat defenses deep, quickness enough to line up in the slot and can even work out of the backfield.

On Oct. 1 in Cleveland—his final game of the year—he went 4-for-4, and his fourth and final hit of the night was a solo home run that marked the 1,274th hit of his career, surpassing&nbsp;Billy Butler&nbsp;(1,273 hits) for sole possession of 8th place in Royals history.Should Perez win the award (which was established in 1980), it would be his fifth career honor, following 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2021. Max Duggan threw a completion a split second before a defender's helmet struck his facemask on a targeting call, sending the TCU quarterback's head snapping back and leaving him momentarily woozy on the ground.

The mobile Duggan took his share of collisions against Kansas State but finished the game and has No. 7 TCU alone in first place.

In a year of quarterback attrition, the Big 12 race could come down to how many are left standing, or who has a backup capable of shouldering the load. Most teams have lost their starting quarterback at some point this season. A few remain out, others have returned and the status of some for Saturday's games are a day-to-day observation.

Just as he's shaken off hard tackles, Duggan deferred questions about the recent pounding, instead pointing to the real battle in the trenches.

"My job's pretty easy. When you're a quarterback, you don't get hit too often," Duggan said after TCU beat Kansas State 38-28 on Saturday. "The guys up front, the guys blocking out on the defense, they're getting hit every play. Those guys are never complaining, never talking about their hits. So the least I can do is get up after a play."

Duggan might not be thriving had redshirt freshman Chandler Morris not sprained his left knee in the season opener. Despite being a three-year starter, Duggan lost the top position over the spring and summer to Morris. But Duggan has played so well that Morris has remained on the bench despite being available. Duggan has thrown 19 touchdown passes with one interception. His 181.8 efficiency rating is fifth in the nation.

While Duggan led TCU back from an 18-point deficit to beat Kansas State, the Wildcats are having their own quarterback issues.

Starter Adrian Martinez left after the first series with an undisclosed injury and did not return. Backup Will Howard threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, then hurt his shoulder on a third-quarter running play. Howard left the game briefly but was brought back in after a third-string freshman threw an interception.

Coach Chris Klieman said Tuesday he's not sure whether Martinez will be available but Howard should be ready when Kansas State, tied for second place with Oklahoma State, prepares to host the Cowboys on Saturday.

Oklahoma State's Spencer Sanders, playing through undisclosed injuries in the past few weeks, led the Cowboys to a comeback win over Texas on Saturday. Sanders is tied with Duggan for the Big 12 lead with 23 total touchdowns — seven more than anyone else.

"He's feeling better," Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said. "He's not where he was. You can tell."

Quarterback injuries seem to have hit the Big 12 harder than other Power 5 conferences, although there are some notable season-ending injuries elsewhere, including Devin Leary at North Carolina State (pectoral muscle).

Some schools can't catch a break: Utah State has seen injuries to its top three quarterbacks, forcing one to end his college career, and Texas A&amp;M its top two.

Despite the frequency of quarterback visits to the training room, the Big 12 is on pace to challenge a high scoring mark under the current 10-team format that started in 2012. The league-wide average of 35.4 points scored is more than five points better than each of the past two seasons and the same as that averaged over the 2015 season.

One reason for the success is Kansas, which has far surpassed its scoring total for all of last season.

Jalon Daniels led Kansas to a 5-0 start, then injured a shoulder against TCU. The Jayhawks lost that game and the next two. Kansas now has an open week and no timetable has been set for Daniels' return. Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel returned from a concussion on Oct. 15 to help the Sooners snap a three-game losing streak. Both quarterbacks were injured in back-to-back weeks on plays by TCU linebacker Jamoi Hodge, whose hit on Gabriel was ruled targeting.

Quinn Ewers of Texas missed three games with a collarbone injury. Texas Tech has gone 3-3 since Tyler Shough injured a collarbone in the season opener. Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire said Shough has been medically cleared and will be available to play against Baylor this week. Redshirt freshman Behren Morton has started the last two games, going 1-1.

Baylor's Blake Shapen sustained a head injury Oct. 13 in the third quarter at West Virginia but returned Saturday to lead the Bears to a win over Kansas. West Virginia's JT Daniels and Iowa State's Hunter Dekkers also have yet to miss a start.

By this point in the season, every coach must address a growing list of players who may or may not be available.

"Kansas State's not the only team that's beat up. That I know for a fact," Klieman said. "And so nobody's going to feel sorry for you. It's the 'next man up' mentality. And whoever is out there, we have confidence as a staff, we have confidence as a football team, that they're going to allow us and give us opportunity to be successful."

HUTCHINSON, Kan.-The Hutchinson Salthawk Volleyball team is headed to State!

Hutch defeated Goddard-Eisenhower in the championship game of their sub-state to punch their ticket to Salina for the 2nd straight year sweeping the tigers 25-14, 25-16.

Hutch also got the opening day sweep over Maize 25-16. 25-19 to advance to the championship game.

Hutchinson (30-7) will travel to Salina's Tony's Pizza Event Center on Friday, October 28th for pool play with the Championship bracket to be played out on Saturday the 29th.

Martinez went to the sideline after just a few snaps on the game's first possession and didn't return. Junior&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7941">Will Howard</a>&nbsp;stepped in and led the Wildcats to four touchdowns on four consecutive drives. "Every single week is going to be a battle every time you step on the field, but taking care of your business during the week Monday through Friday, you get yourself into the best position possible to be fresh as possible on Saturdays, which is what I'm working on right now," Vaughn continued. "You're playing a violent sport that every single week you're getting contact from some of the biggest guys in the world, so it's on me to be able to make sure my body is ready to go every single Saturday. I'm trying to do that every single day." Potentially short-handed K-State now prepares for its Homecoming game against an Oklahoma State squad that comes off a 41-34 win over No. 22 Texas. Oklahoma State has won 20 of its last 23 games and eight of its last 10 against AP Top 25 opponents. It's the next-man-up mentality, and whoever is out there, we have confidence as a staff and as a football team that they're going to allow us and give us an opportunity to be successful."

How passionate is Klieman about Howard? Klieman gave his longest answer all season in addressing Howard, what he means to the team, and his efforts as a quarterback. Howard came off the sideline to complete 13 of 20 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns and one interception while leading the Wildcats on four touchdown drives against the Horned Frogs. Klieman was blunt in lauding Howard's perseverance. "A lot things went awry during the pandemic year, but he grew a ton from that year," Klieman said. "And then he was going to sit last year and then&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7990">Skylar Thompson</a>&nbsp;got hurt and we had to play him. He's a team guy. This year, we kind of made it a competition, but if he didn't win the competition, we were going to do everything we could to preserve this year for him hopefully at Kansas State. I think that's his plan and that's our plan that he stays at Kansas State. I don't go up to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7941">Will Howard</a>&nbsp;and say, 'Hope you're not transferring today,' because&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7941">Will Howard</a>&nbsp;is not that guy.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7941">Will Howard</a>&nbsp;loves K-State. "I know this, I smiled ear-to-ear for him because he's dealt with a lot of ridicule for a couple years and he just goes to work. On Friday, a great example, he has no idea if he's going to play a snap at all, and on Friday, we're doing our meetings, and he's out on our game field with the net throwing and throwing and throwing, and working his own craft — not because he figured Adrian was going to play three plays, but just because he wants to continue to improve and to push it, so when his opportunity comes, whether it's last week, this week, or whenever it is, he'd be ready. That's the sign of a winner and a competitor and a sign of the culture we want here, that you have a kid that says, 'If I'm not the guy, I'm going to prepare like I am, and when that opportunity comes, I'm not missing it.' To watch him play last week, I was so excited for him, and every one of the guys on the team were excited for him. "Adrian is not out for the year. We still feel like we have three left with Will. It's why we didn't play him against South Dakota and Missouri, so we could be strategic about when he would play. He may not play this week. Adrian may be fine to play. I don't have any idea. But if he's not, Will is going to play, and then we still have two more games (to retain his redshirt season)."

K-State has had an up-and-down season on field goals. Klieman indicates that "we're going to have some competition out there this week" to handle field-goal duties.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8127">Chris Tennant</a>&nbsp;is 9 for 14 on field goals this season. He missed a pair of field-goal attempts at TCU. "Chris is busting his tail," Klieman said. "He missed one probably that I thought he should've made and the other one was a 50-50 one that I could've probably bailed him out and gone for it on fourth-and-2, but I didn't, and he would've said, 'Coach, I can make that kick anyway.' "We had a conversation with him and we're going to evaluate this week and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8000">Ty Zentner</a>&nbsp;might kick a point-after attempt or a field goal to get us going. We might see a freshman out there in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=9729">Leyton Simmering</a>. He might kick one, not that we're truly opening the competition, but we're going to have some competition out here this week. I think that'll fuel Chris. "I know Ty is excited because he loves to be out there and I think Leyton has a chance. We're going to kick another day this week when we typically wouldn't and see how it plays out. And Chris is fine with that. Chris knows he needs to perform. I have the utmost confidence in Chris, but we've got to make sure and continue to have competition."

K-State is having a sack party this season

A contributing factor to the Wildcats' defensive success this season has been their ability to get to the quarterback. The Wildcats haven't totaled more than 30 sacks in a season since they had 38 in 2015.&nbsp; &nbsp; "We have relentless rushes," said K-State defensive end&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7960">Nate Matlack</a>, who collected his first sack of the season against TCU. "Our coaches have given us awesome game plans to get different blitzes and to give us opportunities to get more sacks. "I think we've left some on the table and could get even more." So much has been written about returning Consensus All-American running back&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7993">Deuce Vaughn</a>, who ranks second in the FBS among all active players with 130.63 all-purpose yards per game. The 5-foot-6, 176-pound native of Round Rock, Texas, had a streak of nine-straight games with a touchdown, an eight-game streak of 100-yard rushing performances, a career-high 170 rushing yards against Texas Tech, and he ranks 13th&nbsp;nationally with 106.3 rushing yards per game. He currently has 2,790 career rushing yards and needs just 29 more to pass Ell Roberson for No. 4 on the all-time rushing list at K-State. Vaughn reached a significant milestone this past Saturday against TCU: He became the eighth player in Big 12 history to reach 2,500 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in a career, becoming the quickest to do so. He reached the feat in 30 games. DeMarco Murray, who is second on the list, did so in 38. "Unbelievably mind-blowing," Vaughn said. "I can't even put into words how I feel about it. It's something that, of course, I'm super proud of myself for understanding I don't get to this position without a lot of people that are doing a lot of things behind the scenes to get me to this point, (and I have) a lot of thanks to a lot of people who've put me into this position to go out and play the game that I love every single weekend at a Power 5 school — man, it didn't look like I was going to have the opportunity. "To be etched in a record book for the conference is pretty cool." OSU's Spencer Sanders comes off an impressive game and is currently the No. 1 quarterback in the Big 12 Oklahoma State's Spencer Sanders, whose 10,858 total yards ranks second among active FBS players in a career, is taking full advantage of his fifth year in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The 6-foot-1 native of Denton, Texas, who earned First Team All-Big 12 honors a year ago after leading the league in total offense (3,495) and total offense per game (268.8), is putting up even more impressive numbers in 2022. Through seven games, he ranks 12th in the FBS and first in the Big 12 in total offense (2,952), and seventh in the nation and first in the Big 12 in total offense per game (340.3). He has completed 58.8% of his passes for 2,030 yards and 15 touchdowns and four interceptions, and his 290.0 average passing yards ranks 16th&nbsp;nationally. He also has 80 carries for 352 yards and eight touchdowns. His 1,917 rushing yards are most among Oklahoma State quarterbacks in a career. Sanders threw for 391 yards against No. 22 Texas, giving him seven 300-yard passing performances in his career, tied for third in school history. He has thrown 19 touchdowns to just four interceptions over his last 330 passing attempts for an interception rate of just 1.2% — the best such stretch in his career. Last season, Sanders completed 22 of 34 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-20 win over K-State. "He's a competitor," Klieman said. "We're going in from the fire to the next one from Max Duggan to Spencer Sanders. Spencer Sanders has been really good against us the last three years. He can beat you with his arm and he can beat you with his legs."

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy opens up about game day atmosphere at Bill&nbsp;Snyder Family Stadium Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy, who played as OSU quarterback from 1986 to 1989, has visited Manhattan countless times through the years. Gundy in his weekly news conference revealed his thoughts on the game day atmosphere from a historical perspective. "It's full, they do a good job with their students, and the atmosphere, and it's a great college environment," Gundy said. "Back then (in the 1980s), they had the old turf field and the painted Wildcat at the middle, which would rip your skin off, and it stayed that way all four of my years, and gosh, there was nobody at those games. "They've made as big of a transition in college football as anybody in my opinion from where it was back in the mid-90s. Coach Snyder came in 1989, so I don't think they got going up there until at least 1993, 1994 or 1995 when anybody started showing up probably. But that transition has been big. It's been great for conference, I'll put it that way."

Although K-State averages 28.6 points and looks to average more than 30 points per game for the first time since 2017, the Wildcats continue to possess one of the best offenses in school history when it comes to total yardage. K-State ranks 23rd&nbsp;in the FBS and first in the Big 12 in averaging 2.86 sacks per game — an improvement over its 2.41 average a year ago when it finished fifth in sacks in the league. K-State got to Texas Tech's Donovan Smith six times, as&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7902">Felix Anudike-Uzomah</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kstatesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7921">Khalid Duke</a>&nbsp;each recorded three sacks apiece, marking the first time in school history two K-State player had three sacks in the same game. The 5-foot-6, 176-pound native of Round Rock, Texas, had a streak of nine-straight games with a touchdown, an eight-game streak of 100-yard rushing performances, a career-high 170 rushing yards against Texas Tech, and he ranks 13th&nbsp;nationally with 106.3 rushing yards per game. He currently has 2,790 career rushing yards and needs just 29 more to pass Ell Roberson for No. 4 on the all-time rushing list at K-State. Vaughn reached a significant milestone this past Saturday against TCU: He became the eighth player in Big 12 history to reach 2,500 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in a career, becoming the quickest to do so. He reached the feat in 30 games. DeMarco Murray, who is second on the list, did so in 38. "Unbelievably mind-blowing," Vaughn said. "I can't even put into words how I feel about it. The 6-foot-1 native of Denton, Texas, who earned First Team All-Big 12 honors a year ago after leading the league in total offense (3,495) and total offense per game (268.8), is putting up even more impressive numbers in 2022. FORT WORTH, Texas&nbsp;– The Kansas volleyball team fell to the TCU Horned Frogs 3-2 (17-25, 12-25, 25-16, 25-16, 15-9) in a five-set thriller at Schollmaier Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Jayhawks fell to 15-6 (5-4 Big 12) on the season, while the Horned Frogs advanced to 11-9 (6-3 Big 12).

Leading the Kansas offense was redshirt freshman Ayah Elnady with 13 kills, hitting .244, and super-senior Anezka Szabo with eight kills and hitting .176.

Sophomore Caroline Bien had 14 digs with seven kills. Freshman Brynn Kirsch contributed 13 digs to KU’s 45 dig total.

Kansas will take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday (October 30) for the Jayhawks for a Cure match in Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena. The match will begin at 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast by ESPNU.

🏐 Horned Frogs Edge Jayhawks in Five-Set Thriller

It will be the first time Hutchinson holds the races at the Fun Valley Sports Complex.

The women's race will start at 10 a.m. and the men's race will follow at 10:45 a.m. Sixteen teams will be competing.

Last season, the Blue Dragon women finished third in the race as a team with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2022-23/bios/cocking_louise_gbqv">Louise Cocking</a>being crowned the regional champion. The Blue Dragon men did not post a team score last year but did have four runners finish in the top 50.

This season, the third-ranked Blue Dragon women have finished second at the Terry Masterson, finished as the top NJCAA team at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska, shattered many individual records at the Chili Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and took second at the Ollie Isom invite two weeks ago led by freshmen&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2022-23/bios/larson_serenity_9809">Serenity Larson</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2022-23/bios/hoskinson_taylor_jjhw">Taylor Hoskinson</a>&nbsp;finishing third and fourth with freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bluedragonsports.com/sports/wxc/2022-23/bios/lambert_gracie_ynnn">Gracie Lambert</a>&nbsp;coming in at fifth.

The Hutchinson Community College Volleyball team earned a Jayhawk West sweep of the Barton Cougars on Wednesday night and reached the 25-win plateau for the first time since 2017.

The Blue Dragons hit .179 as a team. The Dragons out-blocked the Cougars 10-7 and out-dug the Blue Dragons 55-50.

Sophomore setter Andrea Serrano finished with 22 assists and nine digs. Freshman setter Giovanna Ravenhani had 13 assists.

Sophomore libero Morgan Harvey had 15 digs to lead the Dragons. Harvey has eight matches with 15 or more digs this season.

Molly Norris had nine kills and Tasiah Nunnery had seven kills to lead Barton, which had 24 kills on .113 hitting.

The punishment arises from felony weapons charges filed in 2021 against Clark. The case was resolved in September after Clark pleaded guilty to&nbsp;two counts of misdemeanor possession of an assault weapon. He was sentenced to one year of probation and 40 hours of community service.

Clark was arrested in Los Angeles in March 2021, after the car in which he was riding was pulled over for not having a license plate. A police officer noticed a weapon in the vehicle. Two weapons, including an uzi, were recovered.

The Chiefs are on a bye this week. Clark will be eligible to return to the roster on Monday, November 14, following the team’s Week 10 game against the Jaguars. They face the Titans in Week Nine.
