The Jayhawk West champion Hutchinson Community College baseball team begins Phase 2 of the 2024 postseason Wednesday when the Blue Dragons open the Plains District (Region 6) Tournament with a conference rival.

The No. 10-ranked Blue Dragons (46-11) will play Barton (39-19) at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eck Stadium in Wichita in the second of four opening-round games of the first day of the tournament. Hutchinson is the tournament's No. 2 overall seed Barton is No. 10.

The Blue Dragons advanced to Wichita with a two-game sweep of Labette last week at Hobart-Detter Field. The Blue Dragons won 10-0 and 23-0, both five-inning run-rule games. Barton went on the road and sweep No. 7-seed Fort Scott, 12-0 and 19-7.

Hutchinson clinched the 2024 Jayhawk Conference championship with a 7-2 win over Barton on April 24 in Game 1 of a four-game league series at Lawson-Biggs Field in Great Bend. The Blue Dragons won the series with the Cougars 3-1, sweeping the doubleheader at Hobart-Detter Field on April 26.

First-year Blue Dragon head coach Brock Nehls is the first Blue Dragon head coach to win 40 games in his first season and is the third head coach to win a conference championship in his first season joining Gene Torczon and Kyle Crookes.

The Blue Dragons are bidding for the program's fourth overall district/regional title in team history and the first since 2010.

The Hutchinson-Barton winner will meet the Dodge City/Cowley winner at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The losers of those games play in an elimination game at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The other half of the bracket as No. 1 seed Johnson playing Butler at 4 p.m. and Kansas City playing Cloud County at 7 p.m.

All games of the Plains District Tournament will be streamed live by the KJCCC Network. All game will be pay-per-view.

Box was at 1-over after a bogey on the seventh hole. He finished with birdies on Nos. 8, 13 and 14 and closed the round with four-straight pars to keep the Blue Dragons within striking distance. Box is the only Blue Dragon in the Top 10 individually after his 2-under-par round of 69.

Anderson was 3-over through 10 holes after three-straight birdies on Nos. 8, 9 and 10. The Blue Dragon sophomore had a couple of double bogeys, a bogey and birdie over the final eight holes and is tied for 24th at 1-over 72.

Thissen is tied for 58th 4-over 75. He carded two birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey.

Razinskas carded an 83 and is tied for 121st after 18 holes.

After New Mexico, Midland is second after Day 1, four strokes behind the Thunderbirds at 284. Ranger and Eastern Arizona are tied for third at 285.

Garden City's Jack Dyer is part of a four-way tie for first place in the individual standings after Day 1. Dyer, Indian Hills' Jose Carletta, New Mexico's Matt Walters and Eastern Arizona's Kendall McCain are tied at 4-under 67. Thirty-six players are within five strokes of the lead after the opening round.

TULSA, Okla.—The Wichita Wind Surge defeated the Tulsa Drillers 6-3 on the road at ONEOK Field in the series opener of the Tulsa portion of the Propeller Series.&nbsp;Pierson Ohl&nbsp;struck out a career-high 10 Drillers in his sixth start of the season.

Tanner Schobel&nbsp;lined a double to left to bring in&nbsp;Emmanuel Rodriguez&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kala’i Rosario&nbsp;to give Wichita a 2-0 lead five batters into the ballgame in the top of the first. Despite giving up a single and double in the bottom half of the frame, Ohl struck out five consecutive batters across the first two innings.

Ben Ross&nbsp;pulled an RBI double to left in the top of the sixth to score&nbsp;Alerick Soularie. Ross later touched home plate in the frame alongside Rodriguez on a two-run double through the six hole by Rosario. Soularie singled in Schobel on a base knock to right an inning later for a 6-0 Wind Surge lead heading into the seventh inning stretch.

Tulsa scored all three of their runs consecutively across the seventh and eighth innings on a solo home run by Diego Cartaya, a passed ball, and a single by the aforementioned Cartaya.&nbsp;Miguel Rodriguez&nbsp;retired all four batters he faced after entering in relief in the home half of the eighth.

SEATTLE (AP) — Nelson Velázquez hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to put Kansas City ahead, and Michael Wacha worked six dominant innings as the Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 4-2. Velázquez’s third homer of the season spoiled what had been a strong outing for Seattle starter Logan Gilbert. It all fell apart for Gilbert (3-2) in the seventh as Bobby Witt, Jr. led off with a walk and reached second on a Vinnie Pasquantino groundout to second base. Salvador Perez then reached on an intentional walk, and scored two batters later when Velázquez sent a 398-foot blast to left field. ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Alec Burleson hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning, Pedro Pagés had a three-run double for his first MLB hit and the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Angels 7-6. Kevin Pillar had three hits and Logan O’Hoppe had a three-run homer in the fourth inning as the Angels fell to 1-5 on their current homestand despite rallying from an early five-run deficit. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Shohei Ohtani really wanted a splash hit into San Francisco’s McCovey Cove, and he came oh so close. Ohtani says he is sleeping better after he had struggled to get proper rest amid his former interpreter’s gambling scandal this spring.

DENVER (AP) — Nikola Jokic was presented with his third NBA MVP award before the game, then scored 40 points and dished out 13 assists in leading the Denver Nuggets past the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-97 Tuesday night. That gives the Nuggets a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 6 is Thursday night in Minneapolis. The Nuggets became the first home team to win a game in this Western Conference semifinal series. Anthony Edwards was limited to 18 points on 5-of-15 shooting for Minnesota.

NEW YORK (AP) — Jalen Brunson scored 44 points, and the New York Knicks moved a win away from their first Eastern Conference finals trip since 2000 by beating the Indiana Pacers 121-91 in Game 5. The Knicks rebounded from a blowout loss on Sunday and guaranteed themselves at least one more game at Madison Square Garden in front of their roaring fans who have been aching to see big games in late spring again. Josh Hart had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Deuce McBride scored 17 points after he was inserted into the starting lineup. The No. 2-seeded Knicks can win the series Friday night at Indiana. UNDATED (AP) — The first full week of the upcoming college football season will feature a Saturday tripleheader on ABC, including Texas A&amp;M hosting Notre Dame in prime time. FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Kirk Cousins has shrugged off any hard feelings over the Atlanta Falcons drafting Michael Penix Jr., insisting he’s ready to compete and doesn’t think there will be any issues in the quarterback room. Cousins was one of the biggest free-agent signings of the offseason, getting a $180 million, four-year deal with the Falcons that includes $100 million in guaranteed money. Then, in the most shocking decision of the draft, the Falcons selected Penix with the No. 8 overall selection. LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) — North Carolina State, Baylor and Texas will be among the eight teams in the field for the 2025 Maui Invitational. The tournament field also will include Oregon, Seton Hall, Southern California, UNLV and host Chaminade. The tournament returns to the Lahaina Civic Center this November after being played in Honolulu last year following a series of fires that killed 101 people and decimated the town of Lahaina. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker railed against Pride month, working women, President Biden’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and abortion during a commencement address at Benedictine College last weekend. The three-time Super Bowl champion delivered the roughly 20-minute address Saturday at the Catholic private liberal arts school in Atchison, Kansas. Butker also addressed the women in the audience, arguing their “most important title” should be that of “homemaker.” Butker has made his conservative Catholic beliefs well known. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — There's a lot of uncertainty about Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship. Only some of it involves his golf. Woods says he is still talking with the PGA of America about whether he has the time to serve as Ryder Cup captain for the 2025 matches at Bethpage Black. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Rory McIlroy has filed for divorce in a stunning development as the PGA Championship nears. Court records in Palm Beach County, Florida, showed the petition for dissolution of marriage against Erica Stoll was filed Monday. That's one day after McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship for his 26th career PGA Tour victory. McIlroy's management team confirms the divorce filing and says he won't comment to make sure this time is respectful and amicable. The petition for divorce described the marriage as irretrievably broken and asked that a prenuptial agreement signed about a month before their 2017 wedding be enforced. The prenuptial agreement was sealed.

SEATTLE (AP) — Nelson Velázquez put Kansas City ahead with a three-run homer in the seventh inning, and Michael Wacha worked six dominant innings as the Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Velázquez’s third homer of the season spoiled a strong outing for Seattle starter Logan Gilbert, who had given up just three hits over six shutout innings entering the decisive frame.

It all fell apart for Gilbert (3-2) in the seventh, as Bobby Witt, Jr. led off with a walk and reached second on a Vinnie Pasquantino groundout to second base where Josh Rojas bobbled the ball to spoil the chance of a double play. Salvador Perez reached on an intentional walk, and scored when Velázquez sent a 398-foot blast to left field.

“They found a way to put some pressure on him late, he made a mistake, and the three-run homer was the big swing in the ballgame,” Mariners manager Scott Servais said. “But the stuff, the command, the competitiveness, it was pretty much what we've seen all year from Logan.”

Velázquez' homer was his first since April 4.

“He's a high percentage slider guy, so I went there with a plan that at-bat," Velázquez said. “Look for the slider and try to hit the ball to the middle. I stood on my plan and a good thing happened.”

Maikel Garcia added to Kansas City's lead with an RBI single off Mariners reliever Trent Thornton in the eighth.

Luke Raley gave the Mariners an early lead with a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth, one of just three hits for the Mariners against Wacha (3-4), who struck out seven.

“His stuff was good today,” Royals manager Matt Quatraro said. “The slider was better and he's been working on that. His velo was up early, he got the ball up above the zone when he needed to, he got the ball down, and his changeup was good, like usual.”

Mitch Haniger hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth off closer James McArthur, who struck out Dylan Moore and got Luis Urías to line out for his 10th save.

The Mariners struck out 11 times in the loss, which snapped a seven-game winning streak against the Royals.

“Especially early on, they were swinging aggressively and maybe didn't have time to get to the changeup," Wacha said. “But also, you know, trying to disguise it at times with other pitches as well. Whenever I did throw it, felt like it had good action. Some positive results today.”

Mariners: DH Mitch Garver (upper back spasms) was scratched from the starting lineup … 2B Jorge Polanco was out of the lineup after leaving in the sixth inning of Monday’s game because of a tight right hamstring. Manager Scott Servais said the injury was “nothing that serious.”

Royals: CF Kyle Isbel (stomach bug) was out of the starting lineup for the second straight game.

Seattle right-hander Bryan Woo (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make his second start of the season on Wednesday, while the Royals will start righty Alec Marsh (3-0, 2.53 ERA). Marsh will make his second start since being activated from the injured list on May 9 after taking a line drive off his right elbow in late April.

⚾ Royals rally past Mariners Tuesday

Eight days after earning their first regional championship in 37 years, the Hutchinson Community College softball team learned its seed and opening-round opponent on Tuesday afternoon.

The Region 6 champion Blue Dragons earned the No. 15 overall seed in the 20-team double-elimination tournament and will play No. 19 seed and Region 2 champion Connors State.

The opening-round game will be played on Field 4 at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. The Hutchinson/Connors State winner will play No. 2-seed Indian River State at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21. The loser will play at 3 p.m. on Tuesday against the McLennan/Lake Land-Iowa Western loser.

The Blue Dragons won the Region VI title on May 6 in Dodge City, defeating the reigning regional champion Butler Grizzlies twice in the championship game 12-3 and 16-4 to win the program’s second overall regional championship and first since 1987, the second year of the program.

The 2024 Blue Dragons set a record for wins in a season with a 46-10 record. The Dragons have won

Hutchinson ranks fourth in the NJCAA in team batting average at .417 and sixth in total runs scored with 566.  The Blue Dragons also rank in the national Top 20 in pitching earned-run average at 2.78.

Jayhawk Conference Freshman of the Year Dakota Lake ranks 12th in the NJCAA with 200 strikeouts and is sixth in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings at 11.32.

Offensively, sophomore Jaeleigh Darnell is eighth in the nation in batting average at .515. Freshman Bailey Backhaus is 19th at .496 and is second in the nation in total hits with 102.

Connors State is 39-12 and defeated Eastern Oklahoma State in the second Region 2 championship game 7-2 to earn a berth in the tournament. The Cowgirls knocked off Region 2 favorite Seminole State 4-3 in the semifinals.

Connors State has a team batting average of .337 with 357 runs scored this season. The Cowgirls have hit 49 home runs. The pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.02.

McLennan College is the No. 1 overall seed for this year’s tournament. Indian River State is No. 2, followed by Northwest Florida State, defending national champion Florida Southwestern State and Temple College.

The Blue Dragons have won 13 of their last 14 and 26 of their last 29 games played.

Hays scored one in the top of the sixth to tie the game.&nbsp; The Salthawks took advantage of two Indian errors in the sixth to plate the go-ahead and decisive run.&nbsp; Hutchinson will face either Maize South or Salina Central in the regional championship game around 6:30 p.m.&nbsp;

A complete recap of both games will be available after the second game is complete.&nbsp;

NEW YORK (AP) — The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will open the regular season at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5 in a rematch of the AFC title game. The NFL will release the entire 2024 season schedule on Wednesday night on the NFL Network. The Chiefs beat the Ravens 17-10 in the AFC championship game in January and went on to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in the Super Bowl. The Ravens-Chiefs opener at Arrowhead Stadium will be a Thursday night game on NBC. Kansas City will be going for a third straight Super Bowl title and fourth in six years this season.

Prosecutors allege Ippei Mizuhara stole nearly $17 million from the Japanese baseball player to pay off debts. He has agreed to a plea deal on one count of bank fraud and one count of subscribing to a false tax return. But first he's likely to enter a not-guilty plea as a formality during his arraignment Tuesday in federal court in Los Angeles. Authorities say there was no evidence that Ohtani was involved in or aware of Mizuhara’s gambling.

PARIS (AP) — Diego Maradona’s heirs want to stop the auction of a trophy he was awarded after the 1986 World Cup won by Argentina. It had been missing for decades and recently resurfaced. Their lawyer told The Associated Press he will launch an urgent request to have the Golden Ball withdrawn from the sale next month in Paris. He told the AP he will also request a judicial sequestration of the trophy and file a complaint for theft and concealed theft. Maradona died in 2020 at age 60. He captained Argentina in its 3-2 win over West Germany in the 1986 final in Mexico City. Maradona’s heirs say the trophy was stolen and claim the current owner cannot be entitled to sell it.

He gave up Bobby Witt Jr.’s first inning single, then didn’t allow another hit until Dairon Blanco reached on an infield single in the fifth.

Kirby struck out six, walked none. It was the third time this season he pitched at least six innings and didn’t allow a run.

Raley's second homer of the season traveled an estimated at 432 feet and came after Cal Raleigh doubled on the first pitch of the second inning from Kansas City starter Brady Singer. Raley also&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/lindseywasson/status/1790214531387641891">appeared to break</a>&nbsp;– or have come unscrewed — the celebratory trident used by the Mariners to celebrate home runs.

Raleigh and Raley added an RBI singles an inning later. Raleigh's was a 410-foot shot that tipped off Blanco’s glove as he jumped at the fence. Julio Rodríguez scored, but Jorge Polanco had to wait near first base and could only advance 90 feet, leaving Raleigh with possibly the longest single of his career.

Ty France added a two-run homer in the eighth inning, his third of the season.

Kansas City's Michael Massey had a two-out, two-run double in the eighth, but closer Andrés Muñoz recorded the final four outs for his sixth save.

HUGOTON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpup boys golf team claimed the class 4A regional at Forewinds Golf Course on Monday. 

The Bullpups edged out Andale by seven strokes, to claim the win with a total of 340 strokes. Buhler finished in seventh place with a score of 390.

McPherson junior Blaise Hoover was in first a majority of the day, but finished with a second place finish with a 7-over par 79 round. Freshman Hudson Krehbiel finished with a round of 82, good enough for fifth place.

Junior Drew DeMeyer was the top Buhler finisher, as he carded a 92, which earned him a trip to the state tournament and a 13th place finish.

The class 4A state tournament will take place Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21 at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.

SYRACUSE, Kan. — The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic Celtics boys golf team claimed the class 2A regional championship in far southwest Kansas on Monday.

The Celtics shot a 344 team total, eight strokes better than the host Syracuse Bulldogs. Garden Plain came in third place and Inman in fourth in the team standings.

⛳ Trinity Catholic wins 2A regional in Syracuse

Hutchinson Community College Athletic Director Josh Gooch announced on Monday the hiring of Kyle Fisher to be the next head coach of the Blue Dragon men's basketball program, pending board approval.

Fisher will become the 16th head coach in the history of the NJCAA's all-time winningest men's basketball program. He will be officially introduced at a news conference at noon on Wednesday, May 22, in the Hutchinson's Sports Arena's Multi-Purpose Room.

"Myself, my wife and our girls are beyond excited about getting to take over such a prestigious program like Hutchinson," Fisher said. "I have always admired the program and I look forward to getting to work to keep the Blue Dragons at the top of the junior college world."

Fisher is a veteran of the Jayhawk Conference coaching wars, first as an assistant at Coffeyville Community College and the last five seasons as the head men's basketball coach at Butler Community College.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Kyle Fisher as the Blue Dragons' next head basketball coach," Gooch said. "Coach Fisher's success in the NJCAA and KJCCC as an assistant coach and then as a head coach make him a great fit to lead the Blue Dragons.

"I look forward to welcoming his wife, Kathryn, and daughters, Grace and Rose, to the Hutchinson community and Blue Dragon Nation."

Over his five seasons as head coach at Butler, Fisher's teams posted an impressive 113-42 overall record.

Fisher's 2022-23 team went 26-9 and finished fourth in the KJCCC, but had a late-season surge that carried the Grizzlies to a Region 6 Tournament title and all the way to the NJCAA National Tournament Quarterfinals. His first team in 2019-20 finished 25-8 with a second-place finish in the KJCCC and a Region 6 Tournament runner-up finish.

Except for the Covid-affected season in 2020-21, Fisher's teams never won less than 23 games at Butler.

"The hard-nosed mentality and the grit my players have shown will always be a staple of my program," Fisher said. "We are going to recruit really good players who are good people. They are going to play hard and play for each other."

Before accepting the head coaching position at Butler, Fisher worked under Hall of Fame coach Jay Herkelman at Coffeyville.

Over his seven seasons with the Red Ravens, Fisher's time in Coffeyville helped produce a record of 179-55 and four trips to the national tournament - including three-straight national tournament appearances, along with a national semifinal finish in the 2018-19 season. Fisher was promoted to associate head coach with the Red Ravens before the 2017-18 season.

"With the experience and the success I have had in this league, that will put us in a good position to compete at a high level," Fisher said. "The Jayhawk Conference is unlike any other league in the country. I look forward to the challenge of representing our program and the community the right way."

Prior to Coffeyville, Fisher served as the top assistant at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona, for two seasons. Before Eastern Arizona, Fisher served two seasons as the top assistant at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. Fisher's first coaching position was serving as a graduate assistant for his alma mater, Washburn University in Topeka.

Fisher was a four-year member of Washburn's basketball team where he played for Hall of Fame coach Bob Chipman.

Holthus, the Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs, is the longest tenured and most decorated play-by-play "Voice" in franchise history, on the call for Chiefs victories in Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII. 

Holthus is a member of the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, Kansas State University Athletics Hall of Fame, and is a five-time Emmy award winner. 

A native of Smith Center, Kansas, and graduate of Kansas State University, Holthus was selected by the Kansas Society of Washington, D.C. board for being an exemplary ambassador for the state. Holthus began his legendary broadcasting career calling games for the Pratt High (Kan.) Greenbacks, before serving as Kansas State's "Voice of the Wildcats" for 13 years and earning six-time Kansas Sportscaster of the Year honors. In 1994, Holthus made his debut in the Kansas City Chiefs broadcast booth where he has exemplified the spirit of Chiefs Kingdom ever since. 

Holthus and his wife Tami, who is originally from McPherson, Kansas, have a son and daughter and two granddaughters.

HALSTEAD, Kan. — The Hutchinson Central Christian boys golf team is state bound after the Cougars won the class 1A regional title at Wedgewood Golf Course on Monday.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will open the regular season at home against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5 in a rematch of the AFC title game, the NFL announced Monday.

The NFL will release the entire 2024 season schedule on Wednesday night on the NFL Network.

The&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/chiefs-ravens-score-afc-championship-2d7d4c43fe8fc614b27bf5fc7f4e94d1">Chiefs beat the Ravens 17-10</a>&nbsp;in the AFC championship game in January and went on to&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/super-bowl-2024-score-chiefs-49ers-49b5dca51c05ab0f259cef0d7da76c2d">defeat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime</a>&nbsp;in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs-Ravens opener at Arrowhead Stadium will be a Thursday night game on NBC. The Chiefs are favored by three points, according to&nbsp;<a href="https://sports.ia.betmgm.com/en/sports/football-11/betting/usa-9/nfl-35">BetMGM Sportsbook.</a>

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be going for an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title and fourth in six years this season. Mahomes is 4-1 in his career against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Kansas City will begin the season at home for the second straight year and is 9-2 in openers under Andy Reid. The Chiefs lost 21-20 to Detroit in their 2023 opener.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Atlanta Hawks won the NBA draft lottery, landing the No. 1 pick and a potential cornerstone player in a year where there’s no clear-cut choice. The Hawks hit the jackpot despite just 3% odds after finishing 10th in the Eastern Conference at 36-46. They dropped their final six regular-season games and lost to the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the play-in tournament. The Hawks haven’t won a postseason series since a surprising run to the Eastern Conference finals in 2021. They got knocked out in the first round in 2022 and 2023. Washington, Houston, San Antonio and Detroit rounded out the top five. The draft is June 26-27 in Brooklyn.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Nikola Jokic scored 16 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter and Aaron Gordon had 27 points on 11-for-12 shooting to propel the Denver Nuggets to a series-tying 115-107 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 in the Western Conference semifinals. Jamal Murray had 12 of his 19 points in the third quarter for the Nuggets in a momentum carryover from his buzzer-beating swish from behind half court. McConnell added 15 points and 10 assists and the Indiana Pacers rolled to their third-biggest postseason victory ever, beating the New York Knicks 121-89 on Sunday to even the Eastern Conference semifinal series at 2-2. Haliburton also had six rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers as the Pacers led by 43 points during a start-to-finish romp. They fell just short of their most lopsided playoff victory, when they beat Cleveland by 34 points in April 2018. Game 5 of the series will be played Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

BOSTON (AP) — Aleksander Barkov slipped through three Bruins defenders to score the go-ahead goal and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 16 shots to give the Florida Panthers a 3-2 victory over Boston and a 3-1 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series. One year after Florida knocked out the record-setting Bruins in the first round on its way to the Stanley Cup Final, the Panthers won their third straight to send Boston to the brink of elimination. Sam Bennett and Anton Lundell also scored for the Panthers. Florida scored three times in a row to rally from a two-goal deficit. The Panthers can advance to the Eastern Conference finals with a victory in Game 5 at home on Tuesday night.

McConnell added 15 points and 10 assists and the Indiana Pacers rolled to their third-biggest postseason victory ever, beating the New York Knicks 121-89 on Sunday to even the Eastern Conference semifinal series at 2-2. Haliburton also had six rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers as the Pacers led by 43 points during a start-to-finish romp. They fell just short of their most lopsided playoff victory, when they beat Cleveland by 34 points in April 2018. Game 5 of the series will be played Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.BOSTON (AP) — Aleksander Barkov slipped through three Bruins defenders to score the go-ahead goal and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 16 shots to give the Florida Panthers a 3-2 victory over Boston and a 3-1 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series. One year after Florida knocked out the record-setting Bruins in the first round on its way to the Stanley Cup Final, the Panthers won their third straight to send Boston to the brink of elimination. Sam Bennett and Anton Lundell also scored for the Panthers. Florida scored three times in a row to rally from a two-goal deficit. The Panthers can advance to the Eastern Conference finals with a victory in Game 5 at home on Tuesday night.EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Brock Boeser had two goals and an assist, Elias Lindholm also scored twice, and the Vancouver Canucks held on to beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 to take a 2-1 lead in their Western Conference playoff series. Zhang birdied four of the final five holes to overcome a three-shot deficit in a thrilling final-round duel with Sagstrom after the two broke away from the field Saturday. Zhang shot a 6-under 66, birdieing Nos. 14, 15, 17 and 18 at Upper Montclair Country Club. Sagstrom bogeyed the 16th in a 69. Korda had a second straight 73 and tied for seventh at 7 under. (AP) — Brad Keselowski moved to the front when Chris Buescher and Tyler Reddick hit each other with nine laps left and held on to win the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway on Sunday.
