Donnita Lucille Thode Case slipped out of her earthly restraints and leapt into her eternal glory and her Father’s arms on April 11, 2025. &nbsp; Her loss was unexpected, but she was ready to meet the Lord.

Donnita was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Vernamae Case. &nbsp;She is survived by her brother, Lyle Case (Nancy), and her two children, Troy Thode (Colleen) and Michelle Weninger (Greg). &nbsp; She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alisha Dreiling, Casey Zarybnicky (Craig), Josh Dreiling (Christen), Jake Dreiling (Candice), Kaetlin Hermes (Josh), and Noah Weninger. &nbsp;Donnita has 13 great-grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting number 14 due soon.

Donnita lived her best life in her years after retirement, residing in her little farmhouse just up the road from her son. &nbsp;This was Donnita’s heaven on earth. &nbsp;One of her greatest pleasures was going out and watering cattle twice a day, every day, right up to the day she left us. &nbsp;Donnita loved, with her considerable whole heart, her children, and their families. &nbsp;One of her happiest last days was spent batting a balloon around with her youngest great-granddaughter. &nbsp;Donnita was a founding member of Bible Pathways Fellowship, where her love for the Lord was cemented and became the cornerstone for everything in her life. &nbsp;

Donnita will be remembered for many things, but most of all for the way she made people feel. &nbsp;Her smile was quick and contagious, and it brightened many a dark day. &nbsp;Donnita was encouraging and supportive, and she shared her wisdom and her talents freely. &nbsp;She was generous with her time and her money and gave everything she could to a good cause. &nbsp;Donnita’s loss will be felt by many; a testament to the beauty she brought to all of us. &nbsp;More importantly, Donnita’s life will be celebrated in sweet, sweet memories and the parts of her that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives, and until we meet again.

Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Stephen Schaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Michael Dean Roberts passed away peacefully at his home on April 13, 2025, in his own bed surrounded by those who loved him. He was born to Jim Roberts and Shirley Charvat on February 8, 1955, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. &nbsp;Michael lived a life full of passion, laughter, faith, and deep devotion to God and his family.

Michael served in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1986. Throughout his adult career, he wore many hats: a trained chef, a corrections officer, a skilled construction worker, DIYer, and a creative soul who could craft a critter out of anything. His hands were always working—cooking from scratch, canning, pickling, making goodies for the family, remodeling homes, tending his garden, and finding joy in every moment.

He was a man of many passions: cooking, creating, connecting. He cherished family conversations over television shows and sought joy in presence rather than screens. Known for his unique sense of humor, Michael often laughed to himself, never needing an audience to find happiness. His humor, though not always understood, was one of his many charms.

A humble, faithful servant of God, Michael lived by example—putting God first, teaching his family the values of love, faith, and togetherness. He believed deeply in the importance of living in the moment and building meaningful relationships.

Michael’s greatest pride was being a father, grandfather, brother and uncle. To him, his children were his most cherished achievement. He is survived by his loving wife, Tonia Roberts who he married in 2003. Together, they built a beautiful blended family. His children are Christopher Lee Roberts, Michael Ryan Roberts (Debra) and Elicha Dawn Roberts along with Christopher Michael Roberts, Christina Marie Roberts, and Jeremy Lee Roberts and beloved granddaughter, Breanna Roberts. He had two sisters, Susan Kim Roberts and Cindy Jean Roberts along with three nephews; Shane Lance Webber, Albert Levi Webber and Garrett Landon Webber. He was also blessed with two additional daughters, two sons, and ten grandchildren through his marriage to Tonia.

He was preceded in death by his little sister Cindy Jean, his oldest son, Christopher Lee Roberts, and oldest nephew Shane Lance Webber.

There will be a Celebration of Life 11 am Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary chapel. &nbsp;Friends and family may sign his book during business hours until the day of the celebration at Elliott Mortuary.&nbsp;

Pamela (Pam) Suzzette Murray-Perez. Pam passed away on April 8, 2025, in Wichita, Kan. She was born Aug. 18,1960, in Larned, KS to Setsu Rodriguez and Virgil Murray.

She married Lupe Perez Sr on Sept. 15, 2001, in Larned, KS. They have one daughter together. She graduated from Larned High School. Pam was a retired secretary from Larned State Hospital. She was a lover of K-pop and particularly enjoyed BTS and GOT7. She also enjoyed K-dramas, reading and spending time with her daughter Mackenzie and encouraging her love for esthetics. She also had a love for any animal big or small.

Shirley Kathleen “Kay” Welk, 75, of Hutchinson, died April 13, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1949, in Russell, to Lloyd “Dean” and Verna V. (McReynolds) Elliott.

Shirley, also known as Kay to many, graduated from Paradise High School in 1967. After attending cosmetology school in Hays, she moved to Ellsworth for work, where she met Harold F. Welk Jr. They were married on August 16, 1970, in Ellsworth and were together for 54 years. In 1972, they moved to Hutchinson, where they raised their family and spent the rest of their lives in the home they built. Over the years, Kay worked in cosmetology, bail bonding, and later as a master gardener for the City of Hutchinson Parks Department for 15 years prior to retirement. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, reading, and participating in music at Nickerson United Methodist Church, where she regularly attended services and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; her children, Nathan Welk (Heather) of Derby, and their daughters, Abby and Katie; Kyle Welk (Tiffany) of Wichita, and their children, Andrew, Allison, Emily, and Caleb; Jamie Ball (Shawn) of Overland Park; brothers, Richard Elliott (Catherine) of Waldo, Kendall Elliott (Vickie) of Russell; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cynthia Elliott.

Kay will be remembered for her strength, her deep love for family, and the many lives she touched through her kindness, creativity, and unwavering care.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Nickerson United Methodist Church, 8200 N. Riverton Rd., Nickerson. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Julia “Julie” Ann Rayl Chalfant, 86, passed away April 12, 2025 at Hester Care Center/Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. Julie was born December 31, 1938 to A.D. and Florence Rayl in Hutchinson. Julie was by far the youngest of the Rayl’s children, with two older sisters (Louise and Martha) and one brother (Charles). Her father was a noted local businessman and entrepreneur and one of the country’s earliest Ford dealers.

Growing up, Julie spent summers at her father’s Turkey Creek Ranch outside Colorado Springs and at the Broadmoor. Julie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1956 and attended and graduated from the University of Kansas with a teaching degree in 1960. While at KU, Julie was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, later serving as a chapter advisor for the sorority at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO.

In September of 1959, Julie married her high school sweetheart, Steve Chalfant. Following college, the couple relocated to Colorado Springs, where sons Brad and Jeff were born. The couple returned to Kansas in 1967, when husband Steve returned to finish college at Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas. Following Steve’s graduation, the couple then returned to Hutchinson. Son Tom was born in 1970 and shortly after, the couple moved to Willowbrook, Kansas, where Steve had grown up.&nbsp;

Raised in a family steeped in community service, Julie was an active KU and Kappa Kappa Gamma alum, served for many years on the Altar Guild for Grace Episcopal Church, and a member and officer of P.E.O. Following in her sister Martha’s footsteps, Julie was a long-time board member and president of the Hutchinson Art Association, including the longtime organizer of Hutchinson’s annual Art Fair. Prior to developing debilitating arthritis, Julie was an avid weaver, producing her own art, as well as teaching weaving and selling yarns. However, her greatest passion was the raising of three sons, alongside her husband Steve.

Following a long illness, Julie’s husband Steve passed in December of 2020. Julie is survived by: sons, Brad and wife Dr. Brenda Johnson of Boulder, UT, &nbsp;Jeff and wife Lorie of Billings, MT, and Tom and wife Judy Deck of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Jac Chalfant of Kyle, TX, Joe Chalfant and wife Kaylie of Louisville, KY, Maddie Chalfant Long (Luke) of Conway, SC, Adara Deck-Chalfant, of Round Rock, TX; great-grandchild Avery Long of Conway, SC; sisters-in-law, Virginia Shackleford and Virginia Rayl, both of Kansas City, KS; and brother-in-law, Dick Hamilton of Hutchinson. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Kirk and Martha Hamilton and brother, Charles Rayl.

Julie’s son’s wish to recognize and thank her physicians, particularly primary care physician, Dr. Sara Patry, as well as the excellent care and attention shown to her by the staffs of Wesley Towers, particularly Jamie Whitney and Hospice &amp; HomeCare of Reno County. &nbsp;

Carolyn Kay Horne, 85, died April 12, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Hutchinson. She was born September 18, 1939, in Hutchinson, to Kenneth Vernon and Joyce Elaine (Wilson) Hoots.

Carolyn attended Hutchinson High School. In high school, she was a ticket-taker at the local Fox Theatre. Carolyn loved crafting, she spent time working on diamond art, Bunka (Japanese embroidery) and adult coloring books. While living in Colorado Springs, CO, she taught ceramic classes. Carolyn enjoyed working on word finds and participating in her book club.&nbsp;

On February 22, 1962, she married Donald Ray “Don” Horne, in Bethany, OK. Together they shared over 55 years of marriage, prior to his death on November 28, 2017.

Carolyn is survived by: her children, Rhonda Horne, Denise Horne, David Horne, all of Hutchinson, Micheal (Nadene) Horne of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Sharie (Tom) Dane of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Dennis (Melinda) Hoots of Denver, CO; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Don; grandsons, Jason Horne and Brian Horne.

In high school, she was a ticket-taker at the local Fox Theatre. Carolyn loved crafting, she spent time working on diamond art, Bunka (Japanese embroidery) and adult coloring books. While living in Colorado Springs, CO, she taught ceramic classes. Carolyn enjoyed working on word finds and participating in her book club.&nbsp;On February 22, 1962, she married Donald Ray “Don” Horne, in Bethany, OK. Roscoe A. "Rocky" Williams, 83, of Hutchinson, died April 10, 2025, at his home. &nbsp;He was born January 13, 1942, in Marquette, Kansas, to Floyd and Erma (Arnold) Williams.

On April 21, 2003, he married Shirley Krieg in Las Vegas, NV. &nbsp;They shared nearly 22 years of marriage before his death.

Rocky is survived by: his wife, Shirley Krieg; daughters, Leslie Mandeville (Ron), Debbie Gardner (Trey); step-children, Tracy Krieg, Kelly Collins (Steve Beckman) and Robert Krieg (Robin); sister, Esther Andrews (John); brother, David Williams; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rocky was owner and operator of Body Shop Supply of Hutchinson for over 35 years and also owned Body Shop Supply in Salina.

Rocky enjoyed traveling, collecting and restoring pedal cars, collecting coins and doing word puzzles.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley Williams; sisters-in-laws, Linda Williams and Gwen Williams.

Rhonda Lee Gisick, 70, died April 12, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 15, 1954, in Hutchinson, to Norma Lee Smith.

In 1972, Rhonda graduated from Nickerson High School, she pursued her education at Hutchinson Community College, earning her associates degree. Rhonda worked as a receptionist for multiple businesses through the years, ending at Window Genie of Wichita. &nbsp;

On June 24, 1977, she married Marty Gisick, in Hutchinson. They shared over 47 years of marriage, during those years they were active members at Westside Baptist as AWANA leaders, choir members, and many other roles. He survives.

Rhonda found joy in capturing life's precious moments through photography, freezing time with her cherished images. She lovingly dedicated herself to creating a warm home for her daughters throughout their younger years. Her family was her greatest treasure, bringing her immeasurable happiness. Rhonda's devotion to her family was unwavering, and nothing brought her more delight than the company of her grandchildren, with whom she enthusiastically shared every school event, sporting match, and special occasion.

Other survivors include: her daughters, Jennifer (Branden) Barrett of Wichita and Amy (Malcolm) Philbrick of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jayden Barrett, Kaylie Barrett, Parker Philbrick, and Baylee Philbrick; mother, Norma Lee Smith of Buhler; and siblings, Mike (Ruth) Smith, and Susie (Bob) Turner both of Hutchinson.

Wilma Maxine Meier, 95, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Hilltop Manor. She was born on January 30, 1930 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Walter Mathers and Agnes (Teter) Lee.

Wilma graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949. She attended Pratt Community College. She worked at Rag Bag Fabric Store, Dillon's, Wal-Mart and Pratt Community College. She was a member of Pratt First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. She spent time delivering Meals on Wheels and taking care of her friends by taking them to doctor appointments and places they needed to go. She enjoyed doing ceramics, crafting, sewing and seamstress and upholstery work. She was a determined lady and would do anything she set her mind to.

She is survived by her children, Janet (Wayne) Toews of Penalosa, Elaine (Keith) Ray of Pratt and Darryl (Connie) Meier of Pratt; grandchildren, Sheri (Shane) Rose of Pratt, Jeffrey (Kelly) Meier of Haysville, Kendall (Jodi) Ray of Lawrence, Michael Ray of Andover, Douglas (Katie) Ray of Pratt, Laura (Steve) Donnenwerth of Pratt, Kevin (Maddison) Meier of Breckenridge, Colorado and Kayla Meier of Pratt; 19 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Janice Joan Wisby, 86, died March 30, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born July 15, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Myrl and Amy (Rakestraw) Harmon.

Janice graduated from Sterling High School in 1956. She worked in communications for Northwest Kansas Technical College, Goodland. &nbsp;After moving to Hutchinson, Janice was co-owner, along with her husband, Warren, of Candyman Video. She had a love for all animals, but dogs had a special place in her heart. &nbsp;Janice opened up her home and helped with many rescue dogs, giving them a warm bed, food, and the love they deserved. &nbsp;In addition, Janice enjoyed spending time at her sister’s pool with the “Glitter Girls”. &nbsp;Rather than a time of water exercise, it usually ended up with visiting, laughing, and adult beverages. &nbsp;She was also one of the “Domino Divas”, meeting weekly to play dominos with her friends, and typically, cheating to be sure she won! She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi where she met many of her dearest friends. &nbsp;Janice had a great wit and sense of humor, even during her last few days at Hospice House. &nbsp;She never complained and always faced life with faith, humor and strength. &nbsp;Janice believed that family wasn't always blood and she loved hers unconditionally.&nbsp;

On August 2, 1957, she married Warren Eugene Wisby, in Sterling. &nbsp;He died August 18, 2015, after sharing 58 years of marriage.&nbsp;

Janice is survived by: &nbsp;son, Doug Wisby (Ginger) of Hutchinson; daughter, Dawn Bontrager (Lavon) of Louisburg; sister, Carolyn Schafer; brothers, Bud Harmon and Keith Harmon (Teresa); grandchildren, Summer Smith (Joey), Nathan Butts, Haley Christenson (Brody), Conner Jones (Savannah), Emma Wisby, Amy Wisby, Ryan Bontrager (Rhi) and Shane Bontrager (Abby); and great-grandchildren, Jaden Smith, Rylan Smith, Wade Christenson, Ramsey Bontrager, Rowan Bontrager, Liam Bontrager, and Braylen Bontrager, and her constant companion, her dog Daisy.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Valerie Lea Armstrong Driskell, 46, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hospice House, in her hometown of Hutchinson, KS. Valerie was born on October 3, 1978, the daughter of Steven J. Armstrong and Diane D. (Nece) Mickelson.

On April 1, 2024, after a love and courtship spanning 32 years, she married Bryan Driskell in Hutchinson, KS.

Valerie attended both No Reno and Faris elementary schools, later graduating from Hutchinson High School in 1997. &nbsp;Always a dedicated, hard worker, she approached her work as she did life and her Illness; with a smile and a great attitude. She was employed at Tyson Foods in South Hutchinson for over 6 years, working many different positions, even well into her illness.

She was a fiercely loyal friend and defender of the downtrodden, with a magnetic personality that made you want to be in her company. Her strength and unwavering commitment to spend as much time possible with all of us these past 5 years gives testament to her optimism and courage in the face of ovarian cancer and genuinely, in all she encountered. &nbsp;She wished for all of you to know how much you are loved. &nbsp;She wanted us to remind her numerous Doctors and their staff, she’s forever grateful for your tender care.

Val was preceded in death by her father, Steven Armstrong and a sister, Kelly A. Armstrong in 2008.

Valerie Lea Armstrong Driskell  | 1978-2025 |

Donita Rae Murphy Smalling, known as 'Dee,' age 63, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on January 22, 1962, to Arnita Magdaline Shortbear and Robert LeVasseur. On July 4, 1962, Dee was lovingly placed in the arms of her adoptive parents, Marguerite and Howard H. Murphy. She was a member of the Crow Creek Sioux tribe.

Dee graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1981. Committed to providing for her sons, she worked tirelessly, sometimes juggling three jobs at once. Over the years, she was employed at RL Polk, the Reno County Courthouse, the Reno County Noxious Weed Department, Whispers, Hog Wild BBQ, Barb’s Bail Bonds, and M&amp;M Bonding.

Dee married John Smalling December 31, 2008. 

She is survived by her husband, John Smalling of Newton. She is also survived by her birth mother, Arnita Swanson; sister, Kelly Swanson of Visalia, CA; and brother, Jeff Swanson of Fort Thompson, South Dakota. Her faithful companion, Winston the dog, also remains.

She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Marguerite and Howard; her stepfather, Ralph Edmunston; her birth father, Robert LeVasseur; her brother, Bobby Whitelight; and her sister, Tammy Padron.

Dee fiercely loved her family. She spent countless weekends supporting her sons’ passion for racing, always found in the stands or pits—filming and cheering them on. She also enjoyed crocheting for loved ones, enjoying movie theater popcorn, and caring for distressed animals.

She was born on January 22, 1962, to Arnita Magdaline Shortbear and Robert LeVasseur. On July 4, 1962, Dee was lovingly placed in the arms of her adoptive parents, Marguerite and Howard H. Murphy. She was a member of the Crow Creek Sioux tribe.Dee graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1981. Committed to providing for her sons, she worked tirelessly, sometimes juggling three jobs at once. Over the years, she was employed at RL Polk, the Reno County Courthouse, the Reno County Noxious Weed Department, Whispers, Hog Wild BBQ, Barb’s Bail Bonds, and M&amp;M Bonding.Dee married John Smalling December 31, 2008. She is survived by her husband, John Smalling of Newton. Ora M. Henry, 100, died April 7, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born January 3, 1925, in Hutchinson to Albert Harmon and Zetta Mae (Cosat) Frye.

Ora was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, canning, making jellies, watching her grandsons and great-grandson play sports, going gambling with her daughter and especially loved talking on the phone with her friends and family.

Ora married Perry Andrew Henry in Moundridge, KS, in 1946. He died in 1978.

Ora is survived by: daughter, Betty Henry; grandsons, Todd and Jason (Stephani) Hadley; great-grandsons, Aiden Hadley and Hunter and Austin Hoagland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Ora was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Jerry Hadley; and granddaughter-in-law, Holly Hadley.

Barbara Ione Armbrust, 86, passed away April 2, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born January 5, 1939, to Eduard Emmanuel and Alberta Lorene (Scarnier) Hafermann in Butler, MO.

Barbara graduated from Ellsworth HS in 1956 and from Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing with an RN degree in 1959. &nbsp;She worked as a nurse for thirty-five years. &nbsp;She enjoyed cross stitching, reading, watching K-State and college football as well as "America’s Got Talent."

On September 10, 1960, she married Arthur “Art” Armbrust in Ellsworth. They celebrated 45 years of marriage before he passed in 2006. &nbsp;They had two children: David and Cheri.

Barbara is survived by her: children, David Armbrust of Hutchinson and Cheri Hernandez (Neil) of Helotes, TX; grandchildren, Morgan Armbrust of Ann Arbor, MI, Aaron Armbrust of Hutchinson, and Kendall and Lauren Hernandez of Helotes, TX.

She was preceded in death her husband and parents.

Peggy Lucille Parrish Miller, a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 87, in Lawrence, KS. She was born May 14, 1937, in rural Coats, KS to Howard and Lucille (Yankee) Parrish-Bailey. Peggy spent her childhood in the Coats area, later she moved with her family to Dallas, TX. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School, Dallas, and then majored in English at Southwestern College; a Methodist college, in Georgetown, TX.

Most of Peggy’s adult life was spent in Hutchinson. Her working career involved several accounting firms, eventually retiring from the Branine-Chalfant and Hill Law Offices. When not working, Peggy found joy in a variety of social and hands-on activities, including music, sewing and craft projects, and trying new recipes. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in South Texas, in her RV, and spending time with her family. Peggy’s grandchildren enjoyed Sunday morning breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. She was also a dedicated member of the Hutchinson AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary, holding several offices over the years.

Peggy leaves behind her four children, Ron (Jill) Anderson of Lawrence, Judy (Dennis) Gabehart, Gayle (Al) Howell, both of Hutchinson, Shelly Anderson of Echo, OR; five stepchildren; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Judy (Larry) Plunket; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, beloved spouses, Lewis Miller and Bill Miller, former-spouse and father of her children, Ronald Anderson; brother, Howard “Gene” Parrish; and a great-great grandson.

Dorothy Ruth Beltz, 103, died April 6, 2025, at her home in Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born May 10, 1921, in Durham, KS, to Jake and Anna (Ewert) Beltz. &nbsp;

Dorothy worked from 1944-54 at the Richards-Scheble Candy Company. &nbsp;She then worked for Wiley’s Department Store in the housewares department as a sales clerk and for the former Kay’s Floral. &nbsp;From 1954 to 1973, Dorothy was a member of the Hutchinson Community College Alumni Association. &nbsp;She volunteered weekly for Meals on Wheels for 35 years, cheerfully delivering meals to the homebound. Dorothy was a helpful and thoughtful friend, always willing to help others, whether it was shopping for groceries or driving friends to doctor appointments.&nbsp;

Dorothy is survived by her niece Rita Johnson, great nieces Jennifer Johnson and Jill Lee (Adam), great nephew Jay Johnson (Jennifer), many beloved cousins and her Mission Place family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters and a nephew.

Juna Marie Keever, age 68, died on April 6, 2025, at her home outside of Hutchinson, Kansas. Born on August 22, 1956, she was the daughter of James E. and Betty L. Killingsworth (Holmes).

Juna had a rich and fulfilling life in education, work, and service to others. She graduated from United Township High School in 1974. Her studies continued at Hutchinson Community College in 1999, and she earned a degree from McPherson College in 2002. Her professional life included many years as a receptionist at Hutchinson Clinic before she retired. Beyond her career, Juna had a heart for volunteering and gave time generously to Open Door Health Services and Grand Staff Ministries. She was an avid animal lover, especially fond of cats. Juna had a passion for reading and writing. She wrote the column, "Leave It To Keever," which was featured in The Hutchinson Collegian. Juna also found joy in teaching Sunday school and was actively involved in several churches over the years; including First Church of the Nazarene, Union Valley Bible Church, and CrossPoint Church. Her life was a beautiful blend of learning, sharing, and loving.

On June 12, 1982, she married James W. "Jim" Keever, Jr., who survives her. Left to grieve her absence are her cherished children: Chelsey Trevino, alongside her fiancé Bradley Herbert, of Dallas, TX; Nathan Keever and his wife Abby of Oklahoma City, OK; and David Keever with his wife Leah of Hutchinson. Her beloved grandchildren, Natalie, Maverick, Mya, Landry, and Luke will forever miss her. Her sister, Amy Sutcliffe, and husband James of Leo, IN, along with countless extended family members, also mourn her loss. Juna was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sisters Victoria and Vanessa, and her brothers Russell and Darren Killingsworth.

The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at CrossPoint Church, located at 1410 E. 30th Avenue, Hutchinson. Following the service, interment will occur at Fairlawn Burial Park.

Juna Keever |1956-2025|

Gale Henry Ediger, 88, of rural Haven, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2025, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. Gale was born, August 10, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Henry A. and Minnie (Peters) Ediger. He often shared that when he was born, Hutchinson was experiencing a record heat wave, sending temperatures from 111 degrees Fahrenheit to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, a tough time with no air conditioning.

Gale graduated from Haven High School in 1954. His work ethic was an important example for Gale’s family. In his early years, he worked at Boeing, installing fuel tanks in the B52 bombers. His next endeavor was hauling cement for Haven Redi-Mix, where he hauled many loads of cement for the construction of the Cheney Reservoir Dam Project. He then was hired by Jack Parker, to help develop his manufacturing company, known as Haven Steel Products. Gale worked there for over 25 years as a plant manager and as head of maintenance. After leaving Haven Steel, he worked at NCRA refinery in McPherson, now known as CHS Refinery, for 13 years, eventually retiring at the age of 71. After retirement, Gale continued to work on many projects; his family considered him a “McGyver” as he could fix anything with limited resources.

Gale played fast pitch softball with the 793rd team made up of Boeing workers and airmen from McConnell Airforce Base. He was an excellent fast pitch softball pitcher and pitched in games all over Kansas. His love of the game led him into coaching Little League Baseball with Bill Baldauf in Haven. Later, he led the Haven Baptist Church softball team to the state championship in the mid 70’s as their head coach. &nbsp;

On January 23, 1957, he married Joleen Kay Eales, in Lyons, KS. They shared 67 years of marriage, prior to her death on February 10, 2024.

&nbsp;The most significant part of Gale’s life was his devotion to his family. When his kids were young, he would load them up with some of their friends and go fishing in his boat on Cheney Lake. Additional time was spent teaching them to hunt, trap, and identify animal tracks, which installed an appreciation of the outdoors in all of them. His love was really demonstrated in his daily car drives to be with and to care for Joleen during her two-year stay at Pleasant View Home, Inman. His family remembers him as an encourager, wanting everyone to succeed, and to always do the best you can. He brimmed with pride over his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and loved hearing about their activities and accomplishments.

Gales is survived by: his children Roger (Joleen) Ediger, Ron (Carolie) Ediger, Diane (John) Meadows; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Wesley Ediger.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Joleen; and brothers, Clifford and Darrell Ediger.

 </figure>Gale Henry Ediger, 88, of rural Haven, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2025, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. Gale was born, August 10, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Henry A. and Minnie (Peters) Ediger. He often shared that when he was born, Hutchinson was experiencing a record heat wave, sending temperatures from 111 degrees Fahrenheit to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, a tough time with no air conditioning.Gale graduated from Haven High School in 1954. His work ethic was an important example for Gale’s family. In his early years, he worked at Boeing, installing fuel tanks in the B52 bombers. His next endeavor was hauling cement for Haven Redi-Mix, where he hauled many loads of cement for the construction of the Cheney Reservoir Dam Project. He then was hired by Jack Parker, to help develop his manufacturing company, known as Haven Steel Products. Gale worked there for over 25 years as a plant manager and as head of maintenance. After leaving Haven Steel, he worked at NCRA refinery in McPherson, now known as CHS Refinery, for 13 years, eventually retiring at the age of 71. After retirement, Gale continued to work on many projects; his family considered him a “McGyver” as he could fix anything with limited resources.Gale played fast pitch softball with the 793rd team made up of Boeing workers and airmen from McConnell Airforce Base. He was an excellent fast pitch softball pitcher and pitched in games all over Kansas. His love of the game led him into coaching Little League Baseball with Bill Baldauf in Haven. Later, he led the Haven Baptist Church softball team to the state championship in the mid 70’s as their head coach. &nbsp;On January 23, 1957, he married Joleen Kay Eales, in Lyons, KS. They shared 67 years of marriage, prior to her death on February 10, 2024.&nbsp;The most significant part of Gale’s life was his devotion to his family. When his kids were young, he would load them up with some of their friends and go fishing in his boat on Cheney Lake. Additional time was spent teaching them to hunt, trap, and identify animal tracks, which installed an appreciation of the outdoors in all of them. His love was really demonstrated in his daily car drives to be with and to care for Joleen during her two-year stay at Pleasant View Home, Inman. His family remembers him as an encourager, wanting everyone to succeed, and to always do the best you can. He brimmed with pride over his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and loved hearing about their activities and accomplishments.Gales is survived by: his children Roger (Joleen) Ediger, Ron (Carolie) Ediger, Diane (John) Meadows; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Wesley Ediger.He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Joleen; and brothers, Clifford and Darrell Ediger.Cremation has taken place. Jack Emmett Hughes, 78, died April 5, 2025, at his home, with his three children by his side, after a very brief illness. &nbsp;He was born November 28, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Emmett W. and Sarah Ann (Gibson) Hughes. &nbsp;

Jack graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964, received his associate’s degree from Hutchinson Community Junior College, and attended Kansas State University. &nbsp;He was known throughout the Hutchinson community as a business owner and entrepreneur of restaurants and night clubs. &nbsp;Some of Jack’s most notable establishments were The Doctor Zinn, formerly located at 23rd and Main, Howard’s Claim, Chapter One, College Union, Page Two, and Frankiesinatra’s. &nbsp;In addition, he was a DJ at The Red Lion. &nbsp;Jack had many interests, and worked some as a carpenter and builder. Jack enjoyed music, singing and dogs, especially Bulldogs. &nbsp;

Jack is survived by: &nbsp;his children, Jaye Hughes (Connie) of Hutchinson, Julia Hughes of Kansas, and Jennifer Hughes of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Ted Crank of TN; two nephews; goddaughter, Lauren Stacey Walker (Swender); godsons, Remy Ethan Kulick-Hart and Roman Isaiah Kulick-Hart.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; brother, Michael Hughes (Lisa); and sisters, Jill Crank and Barbara Clendening.

She was born May 14, 1937, in rural Coats, KS to Howard and Lucille (Yankee) Parrish-Bailey. Peggy spent her childhood in the Coats area, later she moved with her family to Dallas, TX. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School, Dallas, and then majored in English at Southwestern College; a Methodist college, in Georgetown, TX.Most of Peggy’s adult life was spent in Hutchinson. Her working career involved several accounting firms, eventually retiring from the Branine-Chalfant and Hill Law Offices. When not working, Peggy found joy in a variety of social and hands-on activities, including music, sewing and craft projects, and trying new recipes. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in South Texas, in her RV, and spending time with her family. Peggy’s grandchildren enjoyed Sunday morning breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. She was also a dedicated member of the Hutchinson AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary, holding several offices over the years.Peggy leaves behind her four children, Ron (Jill) Anderson of Lawrence, Judy (Dennis) Gabehart, Gayle (Al) Howell, both of Hutchinson, Shelly Anderson of Echo, OR; five stepchildren; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Judy (Larry) Plunket; and many extended family members.She was preceded in death by: her parents, beloved spouses, Lewis Miller and Bill Miller, former-spouse and father of her children, Ronald Anderson; brother, Howard “Gene” Parrish; and a great-great grandson.Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Partridge Cemetery, 8304 S Partridge Rd, Partridge. Agnes M. Ziegler, 88, of Wichita, died April 5, 2025, at Kansas Medical Center. She was born October 16, 1936, in Grainfield, KS to Carl and Anna (Zerr) Kaiser.&nbsp;

Agnes was a devoted, loving, and caring mother to her four children. She was a homemaker, a daycare provider, and worked at the Grandstands for the Kansas State Fair for over 40 years. &nbsp;Agnes was the best example of loving everyone unconditionally and she passed that along to her family. She will always be remembered as a warm and kind person to all those around her. &nbsp;

On November 22, 1956, she married Philip Ziegler in Grainfield, Kansas. They shared nearly 64 years of marriage before his death on October 4, 2020.&nbsp;

Agnes is survived by: children, Jim Ziegler (Lori Usher) of Wichita, Doris (Tom) Podany of Wisner, NE, Wanda (Scott) Newton of Pulaski, TN, and Wayne (Jenny) Ziegler of Dripping Springs, TX; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Leo Kaiser; and sister, Tina Leiker.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Philip Ziegler; grandson, Clint Ziegler; brothers, Bernard Kaiser and John Kaiser; and brother-in-law Jim Leiker.&nbsp;

George Robert “Bob” Speice, 86, of Inman, died April 4, 2025, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born on November 30, 1938, in Ebensburg, PA, to George Randolph and Margaret Alice (Evans) Speice.

Bob graduated from Cambria County High School in Ebensburg, PA, in 1957. He attended Penn State and graduated from Hutchinson Community Junior College. Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and was part of the 793rd Airforce Squadron stationed in Hutchinson. While enlisted there, he would meet his future wife, LaDonna, at First Christian Church. Bob was an engineer and assisted with sales for multiple boiler companies throughout the country. He retired from Superior Boiler at the age of 78, after over 50 years in the business. Bob loved his family and was a huge supporter of his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He wouldn’t miss cheering them on at their events if he could help it. Bob enjoyed golfing, softball, hunting, fishing, and many other sports in his younger days. He was an avid reader of historical fiction and had traced his family roots back to the early 1700s. After retiring, Bob enjoyed watercolor painting at the Delos V. Smith Senior Citizens Center. &nbsp;Many of his paintings are of local buildings, family homes, farmsteads, or nature. Bob has been an active member of Crossroad Christian Church, Hutchinson, since 1981.

On June 10, 1961, he married LaDonna McDermott, at First Christian Church, Hutchinson. They shared over 63 years of marriage, during which they enjoyed golfing and country dancing together.

Bob is survived by: his wife, LaDonna Speice of Inman: daughter, Carolyn (Rik) Alspaw of Mulvane; grandchildren, Joshua (Brittany) Alspaw of Shawmut, MT, Nathan Alspaw and Grace Alspaw both of Mulvane; Son, Stuart (Tracy) Speice, grandchildren, Brooke (Kale) Haas and Amanda Speice (Ethan Voboril), all of Inman, Zackary (Kennedy) Speice of Hutchinson; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Missy) Speice of Hollidaysburg, PA; sister, Alice (Charlie) Hilt of Grand Rapids, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Rhiannon Delphine Ramsey was born sleeping on April 1st, 2025, at 1:34 a.m. &nbsp;She was born at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, to her loving parents, Ryan Daniel Ramsey and Jessica Nicole Becks. &nbsp;

Rhiannon weighed 8.6 ounces and measured 8.5 inches long. She would have been tall, just like her daddy. Rhiannon was beautiful and perfect in every way—with soft blonde hair, delicate blonde eyelashes, and ten tiny perfect fingers and toes.

Rhiannon is survived by: &nbsp;her parents, Ryan and Jessica; her maternal grandmother, Katherine Becks of Mount Hope; and her paternal grandparents, Rodney and Helen Ramsey of Wichita.&nbsp;

Rhiannon was met in heaven by her maternal grandfather, Dennis Becks.&nbsp;

Rhiannon’s service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 800 E. Roy Don Eugene Cooper, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. Roy was born on March 14, 1936, in Great Bend, KS, the son of Adelbert and Doris (Nelson) Cooper.

Roy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1954. He enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1974 after serving 20 years as a Tech Sergeant. On November 24, 1965, Roy married Wanda Mae Speegle. He was a member of the American Legion Post 68.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; sisters, Josephine Heller, Darlene O’Neal and Kay Wilmont; brothers, Nelson Cooper and Jr. Cooper.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Cooper Olson and Shelli (Jon) Paine; four grandchildren, Derek Olson, Carley Olson, Sean Paine and Jaxon Paine; two great grandchildren, Eria Olson and Callahan Olson; niece, Linda (Larry) Deckard, Nephew, Audie Heller; and several other nieces and nephews.

Linda Ruth Wiseley, 82, passed away on March 4, 2025, at a long-term care facility in Hutchinson, KS.

Linda Ruth Wiseley was born on March 2, 1943 to Richard and Ila Finney in Fairfield, Iowa. Linda lived a life full of love, laughter, and a little bit of mischief. She was strong-willed, fiercely loyal, and never hesitated to speak her mind-sometimes with a bit of salt, but always with love.

 </figure>Linda Ruth Wiseley, 82, passed away on March 4, 2025, at a long-term care facility in Hutchinson, KS.Linda Ruth Wiseley was born on March 2, 1943 to Richard and Ila Finney in Fairfield, Iowa. Linda lived a life full of love, laughter, and a little bit of mischief. She was strong-willed, fiercely loyal, and never hesitated to speak her mind-sometimes with a bit of salt, but always with love.Her heart was as big as her personality, and she had a soft spot for the children she cared for as a daycare provider for many years. Linda had the opportunity to shape the lives of countless children, grandchildren and a few lucky great-grandchildren. If you were fortunate enough to be part of her world, you knew she would do anything for you. That same love extended to the many creatures that found their way into her home over the years-dogs, birds, rabbits, fish, a raccoon, and even an alligator. She loved them all and Linda never met an animal she wouldn't welcome into the family.Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures- stitching colorful stories into fabric with her cross-stitch, losing herself in the pages of a good book, and knitting warmth into every handmade blanket. She never missed a chance to cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs or KU basketball. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by family, especially holiday gatherings and she never missed a chance to celebrate every family member's birthday.Linda is survived by her children: Mark (Lisa) Conrad, Susan (Michael) Bacon, and Leslie (Andy) Walker; grandchildren: Krystal (Grant) Bacon, Dayne (Alicia) Bacon, Jake Conrad, Cody (Savannah) Conrad, Zack (Katie) Conrad, Caressa Palmer, Levi Conrad, Parker (Yvette) Daugherty, Kaitlyn Conrad, Chantz (Gabby) Daugherty and Joshua Conrad; and great-grandchildren: Kadin and Ila Sims (Bacon), MacArthur Bacon, Jace and Jarek Conrad, Kade, Kohen and Rynley Conrad, MacKenzie Dwyer, Hunter, Trapper and Gage Conrad, John Jr., Adeline, Avalyn and Azaliyah Jacobs, and Adelina and Ozzy Daugherty. She is also survived by her former husband, Mac Conrad.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marv Wiseley, her sons Daren Wiseley and Brian Conrad and her great-grandson Blake Conrad.The family plans to gather and receive friends at the Masonic Lodge in Wellington, Kansas on April 18, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mission Thrift Store, 303 N.
