Nina Christine Kocher, 72, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at her home in Newton, KS. Nina was born on October 17, 1952, in Nashville, KS, the daughter of John S. and Vulla P. (Moore) Cullison.

Nina worked as a cook for Skaets Steak Shop in Hutchinson for many years. If she wasn’t playing bingo, you could find her helping with the concessions or calling out bingo numbers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Martin Rich; granddaughter, Rebecca Shields; and brothers-in-law, Sonny Lightsey, Rod Mears, and Roland Goff.

Nina is survived by her daughter, Michele (Keith) McGee; siblings, Donna Lightsey, John Cullison, Cynthia Mears, Lisa Goff, Pattie (Buddy) Norris, Teresa (Bob) Fultz, and Bennie Cullison; grandchildren, Joshua (Chyenne) McGee, Justin McGee and Jalynna McGee; great grandchildren, Jesse McGee, Gunner McGee, Brice McGee, Isabella Smith, Emery Forgie, Angelia McGee, Aryona Morrison and Alex Sheilds; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. The family will have a potluck dinner following the service at 5pm at the Carey Park Home Builders building. Adalbert Rudolph “Al” Fruehauf, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on his 91st birthday on June 1, 2025 at the Hospice House of Hutchinson. He was born on June 1, 1934, to Erich and Hedwig (Hupe) Fruehauf of Hudson, KS.

He worked for Rainbow Bakery in Hutchinson, retiring in 1993. Al later worked as a groundskeeper at the Highland Golf Course until 2014.

Al was united in marriage to Kathleen Marie “Kay” Chrystie on September 22, 1984 at the Nickerson First Christian Church. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his daughter, Jody Gray of Timnath, CO; two grandchildren, Amanda (Zach) Chicoine of Timnath, CO, and Alexandra (Doug) Foley of Firestone, CO; four great-grandchildren, Olivia and Maya Chicoine, and Jett and Ava Foley; three sisters, Anniliese Ward of Great Bend, Hildagard Shewbart of Great Bend, and Elenora Putnam of Searcy, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers-in-law, Sam Ward, Richard Shewbart, and Richard Putnam; and twin granddaughters, Anna and Sara Gray.

Fern Florence Moots, 92, of Hutchinson, died May 29, 2025, at Dove Estates in Goddard. She was born July 16, 1932, in Fowler, to Everett Michael and Dorothy S. (Fettis) Carr.

Fern graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1950. She was a Group Manager of Operator Service at Southwestern Bell Telephone/AT&amp;T for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. Fern loved spending time with her grandkids, playing cards and games, and enjoyed bowling. She was of the Christian faith.

On December 13, 1953, Fern married William K. “Bill” Moots, in Hutchinson. He died December 28, 1995.

She is survived by: her children, Loretta Horn (Larry) of Holland, MI, Kay McCurry of Wichita, Ray Moots of Haven; grandchildren, Justin McCurry (Erin) of Kansas City, KS, Christy Ewing (James) of Manassas, VA, Grady McCurry of Wichita, Lisa Jones (Ryan) of Byron Center, MI, Kami McGrew (Chris) of Mulvane, Kylee Solan (Brett) of Wichita, McKenzie Jeffrey (Shane) of Haven, Colton Moots (Nicole) of Haven; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Bryan Lee Mothes, 63, of rural Sylvia, went to be with his heavenly Father, May 25, 2025, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born on January 10, 1962, at Stafford Hospital, Stafford, KS, to John Frederick and Nan Earl (Floyd) Mothes.

Bryan graduated from Fairfield High School and Garden City Community College with an associates degree in agriculture. Shortly after his graduation, Bryan became a Stafford County sheriff’s deputy, then a Reno County sheriff’s deputy on February 29, 1988. In 1991, Bryan started the Firearm Response Unit (FRU). On June 26, 1993, he was promoted to patrol sergeant. Bryan earned the title of firearm range master, September 1, 1995. He retired after over 25 years of service, on March 13, 2011, from the Reno County Sheriff’s Department. Bryan enjoyed travelling to the deserts, as well as the mountains in Colorado, where he loved to ride his ATV and climb mountains. Bryan was a rancher and raised Longhorns and Angus-Crosses up until October of 2024. &nbsp;He was a member of First Congregational Church, Hutchinson, as well as a Deacon for the past two years. Anyone who knew Bryan appreciated his strong and steadfast faith and love of the Lord. His unwavering faith was always at the forefront of his relationships with others.&nbsp;

On September 20, 1991, he married Tamara “Tami” Kay, at Temple Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

Bryan is survived by: wife of almost 34 years, Tami Mothes; children, Jessica (Jason) Sanders of Pratt, Leandra (David O’Neil) Bateman of Hutchinson, Tara (Kenneth) Nazarian of New Hampshire, Russell Mothes of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Syler, Brayton, Bailey, Harley, Logan, Bentlee, Basil; mother, Nan Mothes of Cape Girardeau, MO; sisters, Charlotte (Daniel) Paulsen of Romania, Cheryl (Rick Hetzel) Mothes of Cape Girardeau, MO; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Mothes.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at First Congregational Church, 3410 N. Plum, Hutchinson, with his friend, Pastor Matt Stafford, officiating. Jeffrey Lee Ratcliffe, 64, a charismatic, ornery, honest, unfiltered, outspoken, dependable, selfless and loving Father, brother and uncle passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Ascension Via Christ Saint Francis Hospital after a motorcycle accident.

A 1979 student of Hutchinson High School who was a long-haul truck driver.

He is survived by his son, Alexander Lee Ratcliffe of Wichita; beloved pitbulls, Maynard, Izzy and Brinkley, as well as his half-sister and multiple half-brothers, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Darrell Dean Ratcliffe Jr; mother Marylyn Helen Case (Lemen); his oldest son, Joshua Shawn Ratcliffe; beloved pitbulls, Cyrus, Nikkita, Judith and Bella and multiple cousins.

Public visitation will be the morning of June 7, 2025 from 10 am to 11am with his son present at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 East 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. A celebration of life will be held immediately afterward starting at 11am followed by burial at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS at approximately 12 noon. Glenys Irene Schneider, 96, died May 16, 2025, at Cedarhurst of Wichita. She was born December 8, 1928, at Grace Hospital, Hutchinson, to Robert Baker and Flora Maude (McAtee) McDill.

Glenys graduated from Nickerson High School in 1945 and attended Kansas State University. She was a bookkeeper for banks in Sterling and Independence, as well as helping to prepare tax forms. She also worked as a general office assistant at IMCO (Independent Manufacturing Company) in Neodesha, KS. Glenys loved to support 3 sons in their school activities, their sports events and all her grandsons in all their activities. She enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. Glenys was able to go to many stadium tours across the country, seeing the “behind the scenes” for baseball and football. Glenys was an avid NCAA basketball viewer and attended many of the Junior College National Tournaments in Hutchinson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.

On January 2, 1949, she married Alvin Lee Schneider at the Midland Community Church in rural Rice County. They shared over 61 years of marriage, prior to his death on August 14, 2010.

Glenys is survived by: sons, Terry (Lisa) Schneider of Wichita, Roger (Debbie) Schneider of Rose Hill; grandsons, Jared (Kate) Schneider, Eric (Candice) Schneider; great-grandchildren, Story, Rose, and Hunter; step-grandchildren, Stacy (Ryan), Stephanie (Rich) and Trey; and Story Schneider and Rose Schneider, Hunter Schneider and eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband; son, Tom (1997); grandson, Travis Schneider (2020); and brother, Donald McDill.

Graveside service will be announced at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

Deborah A. “Deb” Benbrook, 67, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 19, 1957, in Hutchinson to Glen and Shirley (Ray) Jenks. Deb was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose selfless spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met. She had a deep love for her family—always putting them first—and she found her greatest joy in the moments spent with her children and grandchildren.

Beautiful both inside and out, Deb dedicated her life to caring for others. For many years, she served the Nickerson School District as a beloved school bus driver. She took great pride in safely transporting generations of children, forming connections with families and becoming a fixture in the community.

On April 27, 2002, Deb married the love of her life, Howard “Sonny” Benbrook. Together they shared 23 cherished years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

Deb is survived by her husband, Sonny Benbrook of Hutchinson; five children: Chris (Adriana) Armbruster of Haslet, TX; Bill (Samantha) Armbruster of San Antonio, TX; David “Bryce” Terry of Hutchinson; Mindy (AJ) Behrendt of Hutchinson; and Jamey (Abe) Taylor of Nickerson. She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Payne of Hutchinson; sisters: Susan Heath and Rina Borecky of Hutchinson, and Jackie Hicks of Kansas City, MO; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will carry on her legacy of love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Jenks; grandparents; and one beloved aunt.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025. As per Deb’s wishes, no formal services will be held.&nbsp;

Judith (Judy) Alice Sturgeon Wiesenthal passed away on Wednesday March 19, 2025, in El Paso, TX.

Judy was born in Hutchinson, KS on May 9, 1942. She lived with her family in Nickerson, KS, until she graduated from Nickerson High School, and then went on to graduate from Sidney’s Hairdressing College in Hutchinson, KS. After graduation, she married Carlo (Alvin) Wiesenthal, who served in the US Army until retirement. They traveled the globe and Judy helped support her husband and country. Judy worked as a rural US Postal Service worker for 20 years and endured the harsh weather conditions of El Paso, TX. She had several talents, which included sewing and art projects. She and Alvin pursued most of their hobbies together, and they were avid bowlers and pinochle players. They also traveled often to buy vintage treasures to resell regionally at flea markets.

Judy was proceeded in death by her parents Eugene Sturgeon and Wilma Herren Sturgeon Wilson, husband Alvin Wiesenthal, sons Rex Wiesenthal and Roy Lee Wiesenthal.

She leaves behind sons Carl Wiesenthal, Mark Wiesenthal (Rachel), sister Elaine Cloyd (John Mitchell), nephew Brian Cloyd (McKenzie), two granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren, and many extended family.

Phyllis Marie Howerton, 83, died April 6, 2025 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;The daughter of Irvin and Iantha Young, she was born on August 27, 1941 at the Kingman Hospital. &nbsp;

From the age of five, Phyllis was raised on the family farm southwest of Kingman. &nbsp;Phyllis attended elementary and middle school in Spivey, KS. &nbsp;At the age of 10, she became active in 4-H where she enjoyed projects including foods, clothing, pigs and chickens. &nbsp;Phyllis attended Kingman High School, where she met the love of her life, Dale Howerton, during her junior year. &nbsp;She graduated in 1959 and went on to study at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS. Phyllis graduated with a degree in Education, with an emphasis in Home Economics in 1963, later earning her master’s degree in Home Economics Education from Kansas State University. &nbsp;

In the summer of 1962, Phyllis and Dale were married and moved to Moline, KS. After graduation, Phyllis worked for the County Attorney before accepting a Middle School Home Economics teaching position. &nbsp;Two years later, they moved to Hutchinson, where they attended Park Place Christian Church and were both active members until late in their lives. &nbsp;In 1966, Phyllis was hired by the Reno County Extension Office as the Assistant Home Economics Agent and was quickly promoted to Extension Agent. &nbsp;She specialized in clothing and textiles, teaching many classes throughout the years. &nbsp;

In 1973, Dale and Phyllis welcomed their daughter, Erin, into the world. &nbsp;Erin meant the world to them both and they took great pride in watching her participate in several sports and activities.&nbsp;

&nbsp;During her career, Phyllis’ title evolved to Family and Consumer Science Agent (FACS). &nbsp;In this role, Phyllis specialized in clothing, foods, budgeting etc. &nbsp;She especially enjoyed teaching classes attended by young mothers helping them learn basic life skills, allowing them more independence and confidence. &nbsp;In 1997, Phyllis was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. &nbsp;After 36 years of service, Phyllis retired from Extension in December of 2002. &nbsp;During retirement, Phyllis enjoyed planting and growing beautiful flowers and being active in several church groups with some of her dearest friends. &nbsp;

Her granddaughters were one of her greatest joys! &nbsp;Spending time with them gave Phyllis a chance to share with them her knowledge of baking and sewing. &nbsp;She enjoyed doting on them and traveling with Dale when able. &nbsp;Some of their happiest times were, fall family trips to Colorado and summers at Big Cedar in Missouri. &nbsp;

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Erin (Dan) Rude and granddaughters Taia, Tenley and Lily, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Wohlford and her husband Dale. &nbsp;

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Charles and Robert and sister-in-law Nancy, and brother-in-law, Orman and his wife Marie.&nbsp;

Rex Lee Roberts was born to Rex C. and Margaret A. (Foster) Roberts in rural Montgomery County, Kansas, on May 16, 1941.

On May 8, 2025, Rex passed away in his sleep while visiting his family in Saratoga Wyoming.

Rex leaves behind his wife, Kathyrn Roberts, of Hutchinson KS, three children, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister, and his daughter-in-law.

Rex and Kathyrn were married December 28, 1960 at the Methodist Church in Elk City, Kansas, and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. They moved their family to Hutchinson Kansas in 1963, where Rex was employed by Cessna. Rex retired in 1999 from Eaton Corp after 33 years of service.

Rex played high school football for Independence High School, winning Conference and State Championships his Junior (1957) and Senior (1958) years. His team started a 49-game winning streak that spanned from 1957 to 1962. Rex loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hunting. In retirement he enjoyed striper fishing at Lake Texoma and trout fishing trips to Arkansas, Colorado, and Wyoming.

He always made time for family and friends, attending reunions and family events. Winters were spent in south Texas where he made new friends and enjoyed the warmer climate.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, 6/21/25, 10:00am at Saltcity Cowboy Church, 810 N. Main, South Hutchinson KS. Lunch will be provided following the services.

Patty Ann Lansdowne, 71, died May 23, 2025, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born January 10, 1954, in Jackson, TN, to Laveet and Doris (Cook) Finch.

Patty worked as a bank teller for almost her entire career, retiring as a supervisor. &nbsp;She enjoyed jewelry making, beading, and yearly golf trips to Arizona. &nbsp; Patty was a member of Crestview Bible Church, Hutchinson.

On September 20, 1980, she married Robert John “Bob” Lansdowne, in Flippin, AR.

Patty is survived by: &nbsp;her husband of almost 45 years, Bob of Hutchinson; son, Joe Lomax of Nickerson; daughter, Dawn Sipes, of Bull Shoals, AR; stepson, Bill Lansdowne (Heather) of Manhattan; stepdaughter, Jenny Springer (Doug) of Wamego; mother-in-law, Margaret Lansdowne of Hutchinson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. &nbsp;Together, Patty and Bob were blessed to help raise their two granddaughters, Ashley and Chassity.

Joe A. Banks, 74, of Hutchinson, died surrounding by his family on May 16, 2025, at his home. He was born February 20, 1951, in Stafford to Howard and Millie (Rice) Banks.&nbsp;

Joe graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1969. After graduation, he joined the United States Marines and proudly served for four years, including a tour in Vietnam.&nbsp;

Joe was a creative and hard worker who owned his own business, Aztech Tool Company, for many years. He machined and created molds, tools, and engineer parts for multiple Arizona businesses. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face. He also had an affinity for shelter dogs and adopted several throughout the years. &nbsp;

In May of 1989, he married Debra Withroder-Long. They shared 36 beautiful years together before his death.&nbsp;

Joe is survived by: beloved wife, Debra Banks of Hutchinson; children, Matthew (Marnie) Banks of Arizona, Yvette Banks of Arizona, step-children; Todd (Crystal) Long of Hutchinson, Brooke (John) Garcia of Washington; sisters, Bonnie White and Peggy Tolbert; brother, Kenneth Banks and Howard Lee Banks; grandchildren, Casey Banks, Hailey Banks, Zionna Banks, Michael (Kirstin) Garcia, Brianna Colin-Garcia (Paul) Colin-Lopez, Adam Garcia, Cole (Taylor) Long, Kirsten (Payton) Miller, and Desmond Banks; and numerous great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Kirk graduated from Newton High School in 1957 and obtained his bachelor’s degree from University of Kansas in 1961. He was a financial advisor with A.G. Edwards before retiring in 2000. Kirk was a long-time member of Kiwanis Club of Downtown Hutchinson and an avid supporter and contributor of the Boys and Girls Club of Hutchinson. He spent many hours on golf courses as it was his favorite hobby.&nbsp;

On November 14, 1998, he married Eileen Miller in Hutchinson. They shared 26 beautiful years together before his death.&nbsp;

Kirk is survived by: beloved wife, Eileen Cottingham; children, Jay (Sheri) Cottingham and Anna (Paul) Ondreika; grandchildren, Emma Cottingham, Alexandria and Sydney Ondreika; step-children, Dale (Tonya) Ferguson, Kevin Ferguson, Mike Ferguson, and Celia Ferguson; and six step-grandchildren.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by: his parents, and twin brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Judy Cottingham.&nbsp;

Gloria Ann (Moore) Neighbor was born on Nov 7, 1939 in Enid, OK to Dale and Mabel (Scheffler) Moore. Gloria was raised on the family farm between Hunter and Pond Creek, OK, attending the Hunter School System graduating in 1958. Gloria then attended Phillips University in Enid, OK where she met the love of her life, marrying Darryl Everett Neighbor on August 20,1960 in Hunter, OK.

Gloria loved her family and taking care of them was the most important goal of her life. She was very involved with the PTA while her children were in school along with the church they attended. While living in Hutchinson she was on the Board of Mother to Mother and the Board of the Emergency Shelter Home. Moving to Wichita she was a member of Hillside Christian Church. She loved singing in the Choir, helping with the weekly Food Bank and baking for special occasions.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 64 years, Darryl; children, Mark (Kimberly) Neighbor, Dale (Kimberly) Neighbor, Lucinda (Brian) Hutchins; 6 grandchildren, Kurt (Amber) Neighbor, Kaycee (Brandon) Antle, Rebecca (Terrence) Long, Andrew (Megan) Neighbor, Kaitlyn Hutchins, Abigail Hutchins; 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Kemna; nephew, Clinton Kemna; and several aunts and uncles.

Allen Ray Wedel, 70, of Hutchinson, died May 24, 2025, at Via Christi- St. Francis, Wichita. He was born November 15, 1954, in Hutchinson, KS, to Bert and Earlene Marie (Prichard) Wedel.

Allen graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1972. After completing high school, he attended Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. For most of his life, Allen worked as a commercial electrician.

When Allen wasn’t fixing things, working with his hands, or adding to his immense collection of tools, he was out fishing or watching sports. Allen was a big KC Chiefs and Royals fan. In addition, he enjoyed attending the NJCAA Basketball tournaments, HCC Dragons football, or any local school sports event. Allen had a big heart, and found joy in genuinely helping anyone in need, including animals. &nbsp;

On February 14, 1988, he married Jean Dockery-Hoffman, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, Mark (Katie) Wedel, Melanie (Derrick Vandenbos) Wedel, Kimberly (Shane) Keyser, and Roy (Hiedi) Hodges; grandchildren, Andrew Keyser, Quinton Fenske, Tyler Hodges, Zachary Keyser, Ian Wedel, and Sarah Hodges; brother, Harold (Cathy) Wedel; sister, Barbara (Frank) Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Leonard Michael Keller, 76, died May 19, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1948, in Belleville, IL, to Leonard and Armilda June (Coon) Keller.

Leonard graduated from Falls City High School, Falls City, NE. He worked as a carpenter for many years and later on at Casino White Cloud in surveillance, White Cloud, KS.

In his spare time, Leonard enjoyed riding his Harley, listening to oldies music, fishing and mushroom hunting. In addition, he enjoyed working with his hands and building new things. &nbsp;&nbsp;

On March 17, 1995, he married Rhonda Kay White, in White Cloud, KS. They shared over 30 years of marriage.

Leonard is survived by: his wife, Rhonda Keller; daughters, Misty and Kristy Keller; stepchildren, Tony (Felicia) Shefferd, Lori (Mike) Miller, and Sheila (Les) Shefferd; niece, Stephanie (Vince) McFadden; sister-in-law, Cathie Boyer; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Nancy Kennedy; and brother, Bill Boyer.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., at George Ogden Community Building, 3345 Thrasher Rd., White Cloud, KS.

Nancy Jeanne Kingsley, 74, passed away on April 13, 2025, at her home in Hutchinson.

Nancy was born December 15, 1950, in Pratt, Kansas, to Ellis W. Jr and Betty Jeanne (Patterson) Huitt. She grew up on a farm outside Pratt and graduated with the first senior class of Skyline High School in 1968. She earned her degree from Fort Hays State University before opening her own home decor business after graduating college.

For the majority of her career Nancy worked in the home décor industry, traveling across Kansas and forming close relationships with local shop owners. She especially loved small Kansas downtowns.

More than anything, she loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren, William (13) and Anna Grace (10). She was an avid KU basketball fan, a dog lover, and enjoyed trips to the Colorado mountains. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Nancy is survived by her son, Brad Kingsley (Rebekah) of Bentonville, AR; sister, Linda Kay Huitt of Longmont, CO; and her grandchildren, William and Anna Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Huitt.

A private inurnment has taken place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.

Jetta Ann LeDuc, 86, of Buhler, KS, died May 21, 2025, at Hospice House- Hutchinson, Kansas. &nbsp;She was born January 18, 1939, in Gettysburg, SD, to Joe and Agnus (Hiemstra) Van Bockel.

Jetta earned her GED at a prairie school outside of Gettysburg, SD. &nbsp;She went on to Teacher School for college in 1957. &nbsp;She met a handsome lad named David “Judo Chop” LeDuc who was stationed at the Gettysburg Air Force Station. &nbsp;The rest is history as they were married on June 1,1963. They moved to Michigan, Illinois, Kansas and finally settled in their later years in York, NE. &nbsp;Jetta was a teacher, school bus driver, and cook. &nbsp;She loved to bowl. &nbsp;She loved taking care of her four boys and raised them in the Word of God. &nbsp;Jetta enjoyed attending her flower garden and was always cooking or canning. &nbsp; But most of all, she was known for her knowledge of the Bible. &nbsp;She loved to sit with friends and do Bible studies. &nbsp;Sometimes when she played games like Bible Trivia, everyone wanted to be on her side. &nbsp;If you were on the opposing team…well, you just ended up forfeiting to keep from the embarrassment. &nbsp;Jetta was a caregiver and loved to have company over for card games. She developed many friendships in the kindness she showed others by welcoming them in. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Kathy was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on December 15,1963 and got her midwestern values from her parents Lew and Julane Ediger. She got her work ethic, boundary setting skills and business sense from her father and her playfulness and conversation skills from her mother. Kathy’s grandparents, Art and Mary Smisor, managed the Landmark Hotel. &nbsp;When Kathy was three and a half years old, she answered the switchboard. Kathy loved spending time with her Grandma Mary who was a great storyteller and filled her mind with the possibilities of imagination. She and her mom were models for Lew’s Belco company which specialized in Ultra Vans and the Tiara RV. Kathy was proud to model in her white vinyl go-go boots. She graduated from Hutchinson High School where she was a cheerleader and part of the drama department. Kathy went to Wichita State University and later auditioned and was accepted into the prestigious acting conservatory at Webster University in St. Louis. She was a talented actress, but, inspired by her grandmother’s storytelling, switched to writing classes. Kathy’s adventurous spirit took her to New York where she was one of the editors for a magazine called Gifts and Decorative Accessories. She lived in Denver, Colorado, Atlanta, Georgia, Mobile, Alabama, and later moved back to St. Louis. She wrote for St. Louis Magazine and was an award-winning writer. She wrote poems and short stories about growing up in the Midwest. She told stories of childhood characters she met along the way. Kathy’s story of how her parents met and their tradition of gifting an old red shoe found in the gutter on their first date; at weddings, birthdays, and holidays, was published in Mary Engelbreit’s magazine. Kathy had a great eye for visuals and was a stylist for magazine photoshoots. She loved animals and had many beloved pets throughout her lifetime. Kathy had a frog, a gerbil, an iguana, several fish, a huge dwarf frog, a twenty-six-year-old newt, a pet squirrel and several beloved dogs she cared for like her own children. She reunited with her childhood friend, Sam Torrence, in Atlanta. Kathy and Sam loved their hometown of Hutchinson and moved back to be closer to their families. They got married in Lindsborg, Kansas and honeymooned at Coronado Heights. Kathy loved mid-century modern furniture and antiques. &nbsp;She operated a successful Esty store, including selling items to famous Hollywood television shows. She loved preserving history and helped save the Ye Old Mill ride at the Kansas state fair from being torn down. &nbsp;Kathy was also interested in helping restore the Landmark Hotel that her grandparents managed. She used her eye for antiques, writing skills, and ability to style photoshoots to start her own business called Paper Moon Estate Sales. Kathy worked hard conducting estate sales up until the very end.

Kathy passed on May 15, 2025, at her home. She is survived by: Sam Torrence, husband; Julane Ediger, mother; Mike and Virginia Torrence, in-laws; Ryan, Leah, and Sarah Torrence, stepchildren; Steve, Kelly and Jon Ediger, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew; Sherry Wray, a very special cousin; Brad Smisor, cousin and Maizy and Griffin her two beloved dogs. &nbsp;She was preceded in death by: her father, Lew Ediger; &nbsp;Art and Mary Smisor and John and Martha Ediger, grandparents.

Kathy J Ediger |1963-2025|

Georgia Kay Walden, 72, died May 22, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born September 21, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Oliver A. and Ocie Z. (Latham) Smith.

Georgia attended Hutchinson schools. She worked in the office and on the production floor at Phillips News Company for several years before going to work as a customer service representative at Banker’s Life Insurance Company for 20 years until she retired in 2022. Georgia loved playing the Hee Haw slot machines at various casinos and celebrating the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and making them special for her kids and grandkids.

On January 28, 1972, she married Richard W. Walden, in Hutchinson. He died August 14, 2010.

Georgia is survived by: her son, John Walden of Hutchinson; daughter, Pamela Asche (Tad) of Winfield; grandchildren, Amy Walden (Cody Yingling) of Hutchinson, Shawn Walden of Hutchinson, Dominick Hutchinson (Courtney) of Kansas City, MO, Megan Hutchinson of Kansas City, MO, Zachary Hutchinson (Audrey Ullum) of Hutchinson, Landyn Walden of Hutchinson, Katelyn Mays (Logan) of Winfield, Zachary Klug of Winfield, Sage Piña of Phoenix, AZ, Tyler Walden (Shea) of Bennington, Bret Walden of Bennington; great-grandchildren, Acelyn McPhillips, Madison Yingling, Rhyder Yingling, Daxton Yingling, Collins Mays, Bowen Mays, Nash Walden, Parklynn Walden, Kolter Walden, Kyler Walden, Kaysen Walden, Peyton Moeller; brothers, Frank Smith (Brenda) of Tyler, TX, Karl Smith and Rick Smith (Arlene) of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Karen Smith and Connie Smith of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Brenda Koehn of Hutchinson; and many extended family members.

 </figure>Georgia Kay Walden, 72, died May 22, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born September 21, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Oliver A. and Ocie Z. (Latham) Smith.Georgia attended Hutchinson schools. She worked in the office and on the production floor at Phillips News Company for several years before going to work as a customer service representative at Banker’s Life Insurance Company for 20 years until she retired in 2022. Georgia loved playing the Hee Haw slot machines at various casinos and celebrating the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and making them special for her kids and grandkids.On January 28, 1972, she married Richard W. Walden, in Hutchinson. Russell B. (Brandon) Gagnebin, age 49, of Edwardsville, KS, passed away May 21, 2025. He was born June 1, 1975, to Russell and Shirley (Brown) Gagnebin, in Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp;

Brandon was a 1993 graduate of Fairfield High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He worked as an IT specialist for Collingwood Grain and Impact Design for many years. Some people know a lot about a few things while others know a little about a lot of things. Brandon truly knew a lot about a lot of things. He excelled at computers, could tackle almost any home remodel project, detailed cars, and most recently just painted his first car. He could make rag quilts and soap and was an excellent cook preparing many meals for his family. Brandon was very quick-witted. He loved his family immensely.&nbsp;

Brandon is survived by: his parents Russell and Shirley Gagnebin of Abbyville, KS; sisters Gina (Rob) Edmisson of St. Joseph, MO and Vicki (Theron) Barton of Shawnee, KS; nieces Cierra (Meshach) Kennedy of Kansas City, KS, Peyton (David) Titus of Shawnee, KS, Presley (Jeremiah) Ceasar of Gardner, KS, and Tavia Barton, Shawnee, KS; nephew Muunjiza (MJ) Barton of Shawnee, KS; great-nephew and great-nieces Kingston, Azlynn, and Mylah Kennedy and Synova Ceasar; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Maggie.&nbsp;

R. Brandon Gagnebin |1975-2025|

Scott Long of Ocoee, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at Orlando Health Central. He was 62 years old.

Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on October 8, 1962, Scott was the son of William and Joan (Jacobs) Long, Sr. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Kansas State University, where he developed a lifelong love for the Wildcats. A true sports enthusiast, Scott also enjoyed golfing and cheering on his favorite teams.

For many years, Scott worked in the family business in Hutchinson before relocating with his family to Ocoee, Florida. On April 8, 1985, Scott married his high school sweetheart, Tenley Wiard, at Hutchinson United Methodist Church. Together, they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Tenley Long, and their son Kyle Long, daughter-in-law Ashley Long, and cherished granddaughter Kennedy Long, all of Beaver, West Virginia. He is also survived by his father, William Long Sr.; his brother, Jim Long; and his sister, Ann Farley, all of Hutchinson. Additionally, Scott leaves behind nieces Tessa Farley (Miles) of Hutchinson, Sara Long of Fort Worth, Texas, and Rachel Burke (Shawn) of Midlothian, Texas, and nephew Seth Farley of Hutchinson, along with many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Long, and his brother, Bill Long Jr.

Scott will be remembered for his humor, his warm heart, and his unwavering love for his family and alma mater. A celebration of his life will be held in Hutchinson at a later date. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Pamela Gayle “Pam” Popp, 77, of Hutchinson, died May 21, 2025, at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. She was born March 21, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Ralph and Eula Belle (Alumbaugh) Williams.

Pam graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966. She worked as an optical technician at Singleton-Joyce Optical for many years and then at Southwind Eyecare for over 20 years until she retired. Pam was an avid reader, enjoyed flower gardening, and making breads and candies for the holidays.

On November 12, 1976, she married Danny E. Popp, in Hutchinson. He survives.

Also surviving are: her daughters, Sharon Swarts (Casey) and Tonya Wolfe; grandchildren, Elizabeth Swarts and Justin Swarts, all of Hutchinson; sister, Cara Jean Williams of Carolina Shores, NC; niece, Cindy Summers of Loveland, CO; nephew, Robert Simpson, of Hutchinson; and many extended family members.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Darlene Miller and Shirley Wise.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson.

Bob graduated from Hutchinson Community College and was drafted into the United States Air Force. Then, he worked in sales at Cessna and spent his career in various sales positions in the business industry. Bob was a proud member of the Reno County Sheriff’s reserve.&nbsp;

On August 28, 1966, Bob married Janis Thompson. They shared 58 years together before his death.&nbsp;

Bob is survived by: beloved wife, Janis Battey of Hutchinson; daughter, Kim (Dan) Oborny of Durham; grandsons, Ethan (Cassidy) Oborny of Durham, Logan (Shannon Taylor) Oborny of Tampa; great-grandson, Beau Oborny of Durham; one aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers; and in-laws, Russell and Arlene Thompson.
