Lynette Ann Markel, 64, died Dec. 24, 2025 at Hutchinson.

She was born Sept. 1, 1961, at Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Phyllis (Geubelle) Lubbers. She grew up in the St. Joe Ost community where she attended grade school, then later graduated from Andale High. On Nov. 30, 1985, a cold and icy day, she married Daryl Markel at St. Joe-Ost, Kansas. They moved to Pretty Prairie in 1992 where they raised their kids and spent the rest of their time together.

Lynette was sort of a jack of all trades as she was a former Dental Assistant, a Medical Records clerk, babysitter, stay at home mom, and Para-professional for several surrounding school districts. Later in life, she followed and helped Daryl and Tony with their family business while also getting to be a full-time grandma.

Lynette was a very giving person and liked to volunteer her time helping others. She was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both at Mt. Vernon. She also taught PSR, participated in bible study and volunteered at the Lord’s Diner. Her time and commitment has had a lasting impact on others. She continued to give even up to the end by being an organ donor and blessing the lives of others.

Lynette is survived by her husband Daryl, her son Tony Markel and his wife Julie; daughter Andrea Hastings and her husband Cody; sisters Lesa (Perry) Maus and Lavina (Shawn) Telford; and grandchildren Kenna and Kimber Markel, Eli, Ezra, and Eliana Hastings.

Parish rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2026 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 also at St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima, Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Diane Marie Steadman, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Hutchinson on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1942, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of H. Newlin and Lois Allene (Brickey) Reynolds.

Diane graduated from The University of Kansas with her Bachelor of Science in Education. She was a 5th grade teacher in Kiowa, KS and worked in retail at JCPenney’s for more than 20 years. On July 14, 1973, Diane married Larry Steadman in Boise, Idaho. Diane was a homemaker, loving wife and mother, and was described as intelligent and bubbly. She enjoyed reading and loved her family dearly. She was the light and love of Larry’s life, and to all who knew her. Diane was an altar guild at Grace Episcopal Church in Hutchinson for 20+ years.

Diane is preceded by her parents; daughter, Heather Ann Hayes; and two siblings, Rozlyn and Stuart Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Heidi Sue (Jason) Kohls; stepdaughter, Lanelle (Peter) McKernan; stepson, Bradley (Julie) Steadman; a sister, Sheila (Lowell) Paul; sister-in-law, Annie Reynolds; two grandchildren, Emily and Dylan Kohls; and two nieces and two nephews.

Marilyn Faye Cramer, 70, of Hutchinson, passed away December 24, 2025, at Hospice House. She was born December 31, 1954, in Hutchinson, to Ray L. and Ruth I. (King) Cramer.

Marilyn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1972 and attended Sidney’s Beauty School. She then worked at Doskocil’s, later Tyson Foods.

Marilyn, ever artistic, enjoyed sculpting clay and helped her mother win multiple Governor’s Cookie Jar awards at the Kansas State Fair, as well as winning the award herself. She was a fabulous baker. Marilyn also cared deeply for animals. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, playfulness, and her deep empathy and compassion for those in need.

Marilyn married Eddie Chronister Sr., in 1993, and they had one son, Spencer Chronister. She was also stepmother to Eddie Chronister Jr. and Bobby Chronister.

Marilyn is survived by: her loving son, Spencer Chronister; sister, Connie Hatch (Dennis) of Burlington; nieces, Erin Schuessler of Overland Park, Emily Schuessler of Wichita; two great-nieces; one great-great-niece; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; stepsons; and beloved nephew, Andy Schuessler.

Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment for family and friends is planned.

Leona Kay Bergen, 86, passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, December 22, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1939, in Burdett, KS, the daughter of Everett and Opal (Epley) Ruby.

Leona graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1956, and attended Sterling College, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 1982. On June 2, 1956, Leona married Raymond Charles Bergen in Hutchinson. They had four children, Lorna, Cynthia, Marc, and Barbara. Leona was a foundation member of Life in Christ Transformation Church here in Hutchinson, KS.

Leona is preceded by her parents; husband, Raymond; three brothers, Joe, Greg, and Steve Ruby; sister, Patricia Sands; daughters, Lorna Bergen and Cynthia Akins; and a grandson, David Eshelbrenner.

She is survived by her son, Marc (Terri) Bergen of South Hutchinson; daughter, Barbara Bergen-Whitmore of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Jessica Bergen and Angela (Chris) Howard; great grandchildren, Jhenna and Ashlynne Thomas, Lillian Nelson, and Kylie (Josh) Allred; and a great-great granddaughter, Phoebe Allred.

Thomas Lee “Tom” Rogers, 79, died December 18, 2025, at his home in Pretty Prairie. &nbsp;He was born February 28, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Cecil T. and Virgie Marie (Hayes) Rogers.

Tom graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1964. &nbsp;He attended Hutchinson Community Junior College, and graduated from Fort Hays State University. &nbsp;From January 1966 to January 1972, Tom served in the Air National Guard. &nbsp;After 46 ½ years of service, he retired from Krause Plow as a tool designer. &nbsp;Tom loved woodworking, and built the home that he and Jan live in today. &nbsp;He also helped his son, Micah, remodel his home. In addition, Tom enjoyed watching westerns, eating barbeque, and listening to the Statler Brothers. &nbsp;Each November, he looked forward to riding his Harley-Davidson in the Reno County Toy Run. Tom was a 50-year member of the Pretty Prairie Booster Club and also a member of the Clydesdale Breeders of USA.&nbsp;

Tom was very involved in the Castleton Union Church until it closed and recently attended Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church. &nbsp;Singing gave him great pleasure and he was a member of the “King Servants” quartet where he sang bass. &nbsp;Above all, Tom treasured his family, especially his eight grandchildren. &nbsp;He was their number one fan and made it a priority to support them at all of their events and activities. &nbsp;

On August 20, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet “Jan” Albright, in Pretty Prairie. Together, they served as foster parents for 20 years.&nbsp;

Tom is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of 59 years, Jan; children, Tambra Stucky (Corby), Jennifer England, Micah Rogers (Melissa), and Michael Rogers, all of Pretty Prairie; brother, Richard “Dick” Rogers (Rita) of San Diego, CA; sister, Margaret “Peg” Krehbiel (Ken) of Pretty Prairie; grandchildren, Breann Ramirez (Paola), Tristan England, Keelan Stucky, Sophia England, Blaine Rogers, Brogan Stucky, Matthew Rogers, and Zachary England; and a host of foster children. &nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Don and Rowena Albright.

Mary Ann Conklin, 92, died December 17, 2025, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born July 5, 1933, in Leavenworth, to Arthur and Alma (Kloepper) Kaaz.

Mary Ann graduated from Leavenworth High School and KU, with her bachelor’s degree in accounting. She spent numerous hours working on genealogy, walking, and tending to her roses. Mary Ann was a member of P.E.O. Chapter CM. &nbsp;Faith and family were her priorities. &nbsp;Mary Ann was a long-time member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, and left her handprint on about every aspect of the church. &nbsp;She taught Sunday school, participated in the Christ Care Walkers, and was always willing to help out where needed. Through the peaks and valleys in Mary Ann’s life, she never lost her faith. &nbsp;Above all, Mary Ann loved raising her family and instilling the importance of a strong faith in her children. &nbsp;

On December 21, 1954, she married Stuart F. “Joe” Conklin, Jr., in Leavenworth. &nbsp;They shared almost 50 years of marriage before his death on August 6, 2003.

Mary Ann is survived by: &nbsp;children, Stuart F. Conklin III of Hutchinson, Steven A. Conklin of Watertown, WI, and Susan Fangman (Joe) of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Kathy Conklin Goertzen (Rick) of Aurora, NE; sister, Marjorie Kaaz Dunn of Stuart, FL; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband; son, Scott Conklin; and brother, Arthur Kaaz, Jr.&nbsp;

Mary Ann Conklin |1933-2025|

Anthony Thomas Tague, 49, of Nickerson, Kansas, died Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Hospice Homecare of Reno County in Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was born on October 12, 1976 in Pontiac, Michigan. “Bud” was raised and attended schools in the Pontiac area, later moving to the Lansing, Michigan area where lived for several years.

He moved to Hutchinson, Kansas for a short time before moving to Nickerson where he has lived for the past ten years. Bud was an avid gamer and enjoyed being on his Playstation along with building models. He also loved collecting Matchbox cars.&nbsp; He found peace in taking long walks and enjoying nature.&nbsp;

Bud was an avid gamer and enjoyed being on his Playstation along with building models. Freda Ann Menze entered her Heavenly home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, surrounded by family at Pleasant View Home in Inman, Kansas.

Born January 22, 1939, in rural Rawlins County, Kansas, Freda was the daughter of Charles L. and Eleanora F. (Sramek) Sis. She attended Prairie View School, District #224, through eighth grade and graduated from Atwood Community High School in 1956. After working for a year at Commercial Bank in Stratton, Nebraska, Freda continued her education at McCook Community College.

On September 17, 1960, Freda married the love of her life, Donald D. Menze, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in rural Rawlins County. The couple began their life together in McCook, Nebraska, where Freda worked at First National Bank. As Don’s career took them to new places, Freda devoted herself to raising their family. Later, she returned to the workforce at J.M. McDonald Department Store and Heritage Savings &amp; Loan in Hays, Kansas. She also enjoyed a successful career with Avon, earning numerous awards for outstanding sales.

In 1983, Freda and Don purchased Gullickson Tire in Hutchinson, Kansas, where Freda managed the business’s financial operations until their retirement in 2004.

Freda was a woman of deep faith and an active member of the Church of the Holy Cross. She participated in the Altar Society, St. Ann’s Circle, Harvest House, Serra Club of Reno County, Prodigal Prayer Group, Perpetual Adoration, and the Daughters of Isabella in Hays. She also served on the downtown development committee and was a former member of the Altrusa Club. Freda loved sports—especially cheering for the KU Jayhawks—and enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Don; her son, Bradley Menze; an infant daughter; her parents; and five siblings: Leo (Margaret) Sis, Charles Sis, Verna (Robert) Dame, Virginia (Jerry) Cox, and Elaine Murphy.

Freda leaves behind her children, Julie (Brian) White of Wichita, KS, Sarah (Scott) Berry of Bentonville, AR, Ann (Jason) Graham of Hutchinson, KS, and Anne Menze of Lenexa, KS. She is also survived by: her grandchildren, Dr. Michael Berry, Connor (Evelyn) Wolfe, Nicole Berry, Noelle Graham, Megan White, and Nathan Menze; one great-granddaughter expected in January; her brother, Michael (Diane) Sis; sister-in-law, Patricia Sis; brother-in-law, Dr. John Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Britton “Britt” Ray Rice, 50, passed away unexpectedly, December 19, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson, KS. He was born August 29, 1975, in Hutchinson, to Dennis and Karen (Hoefer) Rice.

Britt graduated from Nickerson High School in 1995. For several years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for KDOT.

Britt’s faith in God was unwavering and for 40 years, he was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. In recent years, he attended Soul Winner’s Mission Church, where he served on Wednesday and Sunday.

In his spare time, Britt enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching old westerns, and spending time in his man cave. Above all, he loved the time spent with his grandchildren and family the most.

On November 21, 2009, he married Jesica Dawn Schrag in Hutchinson. They shared over 16 years of marriage.

Larry Joe O’Hara, 85, of Hutchinson, died December 18, 2025, at Reno County Hospice House. He was born July 18, 1940, in Hobbs, NM, to John Wallace and Cleora Irene (Christian) O’Hara.

Larry graduated from Chase High School, Pratt Community College, and Kansas State University. He was a standout high school athlete and played football, basketball and ran track, winning first place at state in high hurdles. Larry went on to play football at Pratt Junior College and K-State. He was a purchasing agent for Cessna/Eaton Hydraulics for over 30 years before retiring. Larry was a member of Chase Baptist Church.

After retiring, he enjoyed traveling in his 5th wheel, traveling the east coast, Florida to Maine, and spending the winters in Texas for 13years. On one of those trips, Larry learned to braid wool rugs. &nbsp;He was “best in show” with his braided rugs at the Kansas State Fair. Larry’s braided rugs are cherished by his family.

On December 19, 1959, Larry married Lavon Sue Milsap, in Lyons. They shared 66 years of marriage.

He is survived by: his wife, Sue of Hutchinson; daughters, Gail O’Hara Streepy and husband Dan Streepy of Hutchinson, Angie O’Hara of Topeka; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Larry was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Cleora; brothers, John O’Hara, Frank Miller, Pat O’Hara; and son-in-law, Elston Arrington.

Barry was a 1979 graduate of Hutchinson High School and earned his degree from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, in 1993. In 1994, he moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he began a long career with Globe Life Marketing. He served the company for 31 years, most recently as a Senior Programmer Analyst. While living in Kansas, he was a member of the Hutchinson Breakfast Lions Club.

On April 7, 1990, he married Jeanne Herrell, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Dorothy; his grandparents; and his older brother, Roy Coon.

Barry is survived by his wife, Jeanne Coon; his sons, Chris Coon and wife Amanda of Moore, OK, and Anthony Coon of the home. George attended Buhler High School. George worked as a stocker for Walmart and Dillons, QA for Collins Bus, as well as constructed steel metal buildings and remodeled homes. He was known by many for being stubborn and ornery with a sense of humor, telling “dumb” jokes that still made people laugh. George loved watching racing, especially NASCAR, as well as spending time and having long talks with his uncle David.

George is survived by: son, Calub Emery; daughter, Sierra Emery; father, George Emery; sisters, Carrie Emery and Melissa White; niece, Jaimie Wisdom; nephews, Michael Hanover, Nick and Joe Koch; many cousins; aunts; uncles; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by: mother, Debra White; uncles David, Doug and Dennis White.

George Francis Emery  |1969-2025|

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melony Marie Crim. Melony passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on December 17, 2025, at the age of 47. She was born on August 13, 1978, in Fort Campbell, KY to Emmett L. Groves and Lavina (Stein) Groves-Knutson.

Melony graduated from Northeast High School in Clarksville, TN, in 1997, and went on to earn an Associate degree in Massage Therapy from Miller-Motte Technical College. She worked at Walmart and was a PCA at Hutchinson Clinic, but most importantly, she fulfilled her cherished role as a dedicated wife, mom and step-mom. On July 6, 2019, Melony married the love of her life, Bryan Crim, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. They attended The Roads Church together.

Melony had a passion for baking, cooking, sewing, and quilting, often dedicating her time to DIY projects and inspiring others with her creativity. Her late arrivals were a testament to her busy life, filled with love and laughter that she shared with family and friends. Melony was a radiant soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, joy, and an indomitable spirit that will be remembered by all who knew her. A vibrant spirit, Melony was known for her warmth, positivity, and her ability to be everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She had an infectious enthusiasm for life and was never one to meet a stranger, effortlessly striking up conversations with anyone she encountered. A true embodiment of strength and resilience, she was stubborn and strong-willed from birth, traits that endeared her to many. Her optimism and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Melony's funeral will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Macedonia Church, 310 Hwy 145 North, Golconda, IL. The family will received friends from 11:00 until service time. To honor Melony’s vibrant outlook on life, attendees are asked to wear something bright and colorful in her honor.

She was born on August 13, 1978, in Fort Campbell, KY to Emmett L. Groves and Lavina (Stein) Groves-Knutson.Melony graduated from Northeast High School in Clarksville, TN, in 1997, and went on to earn an Associate degree in Massage Therapy from Miller-Motte Technical College. She worked at Walmart and was a PCA at Hutchinson Clinic, but most importantly, she fulfilled her cherished role as a dedicated wife, mom and step-mom. On July 6, 2019, Melony married the love of her life, Bryan Crim, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. They attended The Roads Church together.Melony had a passion for baking, cooking, sewing, and quilting, often dedicating her time to DIY projects and inspiring others with her creativity. Her late arrivals were a testament to her busy life, filled with love and laughter that she shared with family and friends. Melony was a radiant soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, joy, and an indomitable spirit that will be remembered by all who knew her. A vibrant spirit, Melony was known for her warmth, positivity, and her ability to be everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She had an infectious enthusiasm for life and was never one to meet a stranger, effortlessly striking up conversations with anyone she encountered. A true embodiment of strength and resilience, she was stubborn and strong-willed from birth, traits that endeared her to many. Alfred “Al” Fiffe passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on December 15, 2025 in Monett, Missouri.

Alfred “Al” Fiffe was born December 26, 1929, in Aurora, Kansas, and was raised in Salina, Kansas, alongside three brothers and two sisters by his hard-working parents, Alfred Sr. and Marie Louise. From an early age, Al was known for his quick wit, charm, and fun-loving spirit. A true social butterfly, he had a natural gift for bringing joy to those around him.

Al attended Sacred Heart Schools in Salina, where he proudly earned a spot on the varsity basketball team beginning his freshman year. His first job was at the Salina Country Club, where he worked as a caddy and later became caddy master, mentoring younger caddies.

After school, Al built a successful career in insurance sales, where his determination and talent quickly set him apart. He earned numerous awards and was once proudly ranked as the number two salesman in the nation. Continuing his career with insurance into his 80s, he also owned and operated a successful retail liquor store for just under 50 years, a business that was eventually managed by his oldest son Steve.

On August 4, 1951, Al married the love of his life, Irene, after being introduced by her sisters. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Steve (Shirley), Michelle (Mike), and Brian (Niki). Those closest to him were always at the center of Al’s world. He cherished countless joyful weekends and years at the family cabin always full of family, friends, laughter, and love.

Al carried deep pride in his family’s military service. All of his brothers and his son Brian served their country, and his brother Romaine made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II and was laid to rest at Normandy. He was a devoted member of Holy Cross and Saint Lawrence Catholic Churches, where he served in numerous roles, including Chairman of the Building Committee for Holy Cross. Known as the “rosary man,” he dedicated countless hours to making or repairing thousands of rosaries by hand and took great joy in giving them away to everyone he met.

Golf was Al’s absolute passion. He shared his love of the game freely through playing, mentoring, and coaching others. He especially cherished time on the course with his daughter Michelle and her group of “golf girls,” along with his weekly outings with his golf buddies. With a grin, he loved to point out that being over 90 meant no green fees and eventually graduated to his favorite perk of all, “playing it wherever he wanted to play it,” proudly noting that his age had finally surpassed his golf scores. Beyond the fairways, Al found joy in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with all of his friends at Oak Pointe, Mexican food, homemade soups, games with friends, and time spent outdoors.

Al is lovingly remembered by six grandchildren: Josh (Mercedes), Kyle, Drew, Keli, Aidan, and Maddie; seven great-grandchildren: Hadley, Camryn, Jackson, Kylar, Kinslee, Destiny (Austin), and Aiden; and one great-great-grandchild arriving “at the buzzer” this month, Hudson.

Above all, Al cherished the memory of his beloved wife, Irene, and the life they built together. His story is one of hard work, faith, laughter, and love, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

Mary Helen Webb, 96, of Hutchinson, died December 16, 2025, at Reflection Living in Hutchinson. She was born December 12, 1929, in Hutchinson, 1 of 14 children born to Anthony and Viva (Howard) Urban.

Mary graduated from St. Teresa Catholic School in 1948, where she was the valedictorian of her class. Described as resilient and prayerful, Mary grew up in the Great Depression and lived through dust storms and tornadoes. Raising 12 children of her own, she was also resourceful and loved quilting and gardening, especially flowers, and one summer she raised over two tons of tomatoes. After raising her family, Mary worked in food service at Hutchinson Community College for 15 years before retiring. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, where she served on the Altar Society and Perpetual Adoration.

On June 28, 1948, Mary married Richard J. Webb Jr., in Hutchinson. They shared 68 years of marriage before his death on September 23, 2016.

She is survived by: her children, Catherine Hixon, Patricia Best (Harlan), Barbara Webb, all of Hutchinson, Frances Ronnau (Robert), Christine Webb-Mikesell, all of Mesa, AZ, Rita Carpenter (Kris), Mary Walker (David Cunningham), all of Overland Park, Daniel Webb of South Hutchinson; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Anna Mae McKown (Jerry), Eloise Vincent, all of Midwest City, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughters, Ruth Martinie, Vivian Sorenson; sons, Richard Webb III, David Webb; grandsons, Brian Sorenson, William Grimes; and 11 siblings.

Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., both officiated by Father Eric Weldon. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Thomas L. Powell, 90, died December 15, 2025, at Hester Care Center in Hutchinson. He was born June 7, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Ralph Thomas and Marguerite Lucille (Smithheisler) Powell.

Thomas graduated from Nickerson High School in 1952, and proudly joined the United States Army right after graduation. After serving his country he dedicated his life to farming. He worked tirelessly in the fields, ensuring a successful harvest.

Thomas delighted in solving challenging puzzles, golfing, and bowling with his bowling league. He also loved sitting outside for hours, soaking in the sun and the calmness of nature around him. When he wasn’t outside, Thomas was watching any football, basketball, or baseball games, especially if the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, or the Kansas Jayhawks were playing. Above all, Thomas was a family man who loved his family more than anything else in the world. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to all girls and was very proud of it. &nbsp;

On May 25, 1957, he married Connie Lou Aschman at Nickerson Methodist Church, Nickerson. Together they shared over 68 years of marriage.

Thomas is survived by: his loving wife, Connie Powell; daughters, Tammy Graham, Sandy (Troy) Freeman, and Kim (Keith) Brown; grandchildren, Abbie Graham, Erin Graham, Brenna (Dave Boffa) Graham, Kaisha Freeman, Madison (Clayton) Tarpley, and Sydney Brown; great-granddaughter, Evan Tarpley; and sister, Sue Powell.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandson, Joshua Freeman; and son-in-law, Steven Graham.

Imogene Ruth Trammell, 82, passed away on December 16, 2025, at her home in Hutchinson, KS. Imogene was born on June 15, 1943, in Pineville, MO, the daughter of Glade and Velma (Tolliver) Kidd.

Imogene worked for Eaton Hydraulics as an assembly operator. She retired after working at Eaton for 32 years. On February 14, 1959, Imogene married Everett L. Trammell in Miami, OK. She enjoyed spending her free time outdoors, where you could find her gardening, mowing her lawn and fishing. She also enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; 10 brothers and one sister.

Imogene is survived by her children, Brenda (Marvin) Scates, Norma (Ralph) Seat, Calvin (Doreen) Trammell, Elizabeth (Robert) Garcia, Timothy Trammell, Clyde (Jennifer) Trammell and Roger (Tracy) Trammell; brother, Donald (Nelda) Kidd; 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Imogene Ruth Trammell |1943-2025|

Gillian Diane “Gill” Ledbetter, 47, died unexpectedly December 15, 2025, at her home in Buhler. She was born March 9, 1978, in Hutchinson, to Robert Allen “Bob” and Christine May “Chris” (Hayman) Seefeldt.

Gill graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1996, where she was involved in cheerleading, track, and band. &nbsp;Later, Gill graduated from Hutchinson Community College with two degrees, one in fire science and the other specializing in early childhood. &nbsp;

On May 20, 2000, she married Charles David “Charlie” Ledbetter, Jr. &nbsp; He died unexpectedly May 9, 2009. &nbsp;Gill raised her young children wonderfully despite the loss of her husband.

Gill taught preschool for 10 years, and was a para for 10 years, working for Buhler USD 313, and currently for Nickerson USD 309.

When Gill was not working, she always put others first. &nbsp;She excelled at sewing, making wedding and prom dresses as well as her children’s clothing when they were young. &nbsp;If anyone in the family had an item of clothing that needed mending, there were no worries as they would always say “Aunt Gill can fix it”. &nbsp;She was an EMT and volunteered for the Buhler, Nickerson, and Pretty Prairie Fire Departments and the Pretty Prairie Rodeo. &nbsp;For the past six months, Gill could be found Wednesday nights at the Buhler Mennonite Church, volunteering with their children’s activities. &nbsp;She was fiery, intense, and never went anywhere, without running into someone she knew. &nbsp;Teaching and children were Gill’s passion. &nbsp;But the titles she most adored were mom and “Gigi”. &nbsp;She treasured spending time with her family, and loved them all unconditionally.&nbsp;

Gill is survived by: daughter, Emily Bruce (Zane) of Meadow Grove, NE; son, Evan Ledbetter of Buhler; grandchildren, Charlyn, Eliyah, and Zerrik Bruce; sister, Wendy Brown (David) of Hutchinson; nieces, Allison McMurry (Kyle Kelley), Baylie Gilbert (Jordan), and Brittany Rayl (Mason Cooper); nephew, David Robert Brown; aunts and uncles, Cathy and Larry Lawrence and Patricia Patrick; cousins, Spencer Smith, Stuart Smith, Steele Smith, David Lawrence, and Heather Williams; in-laws, Charles D. and Cynthia Ledbetter, Sr.; all the Ledbetter &nbsp;family; bonus family, Todd and Carie Arheart and their sons, Austin, Jordan, and Trenton; and a host of friends and students.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband; grandparents; and two aunts.

Virginia R. Casey, 93, passed away on December 16, 2025, at her home in Hutchinson, KS.

Virginia was born July 20, 1932, in Gainesville, MO, the daughter of Noah and Fila (Brown) Loftis. On March 18, 1971, Virginia married Donald L. Casey in Houston, TX. Virginia worked as a waitress and banquet host for over 20 years for the Holiday Inn and Ramada Inn.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; sister, Mable Smith; son, Clyde McAfee and a grandson, Keith Wingert.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Caviness; sons, Ricky Casey and Donald Loftis; twin sister, Verna Smith; grandchildren, Kim Baker, Brian Smith, Becky Nichols; great grandchildren, Ahren (Addison) Mahoney and Samantha Baker; and four great -great grandchildren.

Dixie Lee Hayes, 86, of Hutchinson, died December 16, 2025, at Reflection Living in Hutchinson. She was born September 20, 1939, in Oberlin, to Dorce L. and Elsie E. (Wurm) Hayes.

Dixie graduated from Hutchinson High School and Wichita State University. She was the bookkeeper at Hayes Sight &amp; Sound for many years before retiring. Dixie was an avid Chiefs fan and season ticket holder for 15 years. She loved knitting and spent every Tuesday afternoon with her knitting group at “Yarn”. &nbsp;Dixie enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a bi-weekly card group of friends. She loved to travel and Maui was her favorite vacation island.

Dixie is survived by: her brother, Rick Hayes (Deb White) of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Alice Jane Hayes of Hutchinson; nephews, Darin Hayes (Sara) and their children of Wichita, and Devon Hayes (Stacy) and their children of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jay Dee Hayes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Hutchinson Art Center, 405 N. Washington St., Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Johnathan Patrick “John” “Patch” McConnell, 57, died December 15, 2025, at Meridian Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Wichita. He was born June 26, 1968, in Hutchinson, to Dale Elden and Donna Sue (Ruble) McConnell.

John graduated from Nickerson High School in 1986. He attended a vo-tech auto mechanic school, Hutchinson, between 1986 and 1987, earning his certification as a small engine mechanic. John worked at Ely’s, Great Plains Motorsports and most recently at Outdoor Power Sports, working in the small engine mechanic industry for over 40 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and drag racing. John loved the outdoors. He would spend hours at the Little Arkansas River collecting items, as well as hunting, fishing and bow-hunting.&nbsp;

On November 7, 1992, he married Debra “Debbie” Welch, at Saint Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson. They shared over 12 years of marriage, prior to their divorce.

John is survived by: his sister, Shannon Redenbaugh; nieces and nephews, Sarah Stucky, Shelby (Ethyn) Hafner, Kren (Curtis) Littrell, Katie (Michael) Young; great-niece and great-nephews, Hayden, Liam and Brinley Litrell, Jacob and Korbin Young; brother-in-law, Tracy Everhart; ex-wife and friend, Debbie McConnell, all of Hutchinson; as well as a host of cousins and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Casey McConnell; sister, Kelly Everhart; brother, Michael McConnell; and brother-in-law, Arlan Redenbaugh.

Krista Jill Knackstedt, 46, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 13, 2025, in Inman. She was born September 13, 1979, in Mangum, Oklahoma, the daughter of Loyd and Brenda (Klepper) Fletcher. 

She was a graduate of Mangum High School and was a graduate of Southwest Technology Center.

Krista married Justin Knackstedt on November 10, 2007, in Iuka, Kansas. They had two children, Grant and Kendi. She was a fierce mom, who enjoyed attending and never missed the kids’ activities. She loved to cook and bake, loved watching sports on tv, especially Oklahoma State, showed livestock, and enjoyed crafting.

She is survived by her husband Justin, and her two children, Grant and Kendi, all of the home in Inman; father and mother-in-law, Dwight and Pam Knackstedt, Inman; Brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Kaleena Knackstedt, Hutchinson; a sister-in-law and husband Jenna and Carl Crawford, Palmetto Bay, Florida; a sister-in-law, Suzi Fletcher, Frederick, Oklahoma; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins along with numerous nieces and nephews who always referred to her as Aunt KK

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Keith Fletcher.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of her life held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.
