Gary Lee Buhler, 82, passed into God's hands on May 25,2022 at his home in South Hutchinson.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was born on September 10, 1939 to Menno and Opal ( Hubert) Buhler in Hutchinson, Kansas.&nbsp; He graduated from Hutchinson High School.&nbsp; He served our country in the United States Air National Guard of Kansas. Gary was a Minister for over 50 years and he enjoyed singing and playing guitar in church and at home.&nbsp; He touched so many lives in so many ways through the years by teaching God's words.&nbsp; He is loved and missed.&nbsp;

Gary is survived by his wife, Rebecca of the home; daughters, Ann ( Darren ) Lane, Sarah Jones ( Justin Barker), Stephanie ( Ridley) Stokley all of Hutchinson.

Gary was preceded in death by sons, Steven Buhler, Paul Buhler, Robert Stokley, Anthony Stokley.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on June 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Full Gospel Church, 414 East G Avenue, Hutchinson.

Mary enjoyed working in her flower garden, especially with her irises.&nbsp; She could be counted on by the family to be the babysitter for her grandchildren.&nbsp; Mary was a member of the Apostolic Assembly Church and was a lady with a strong faith.

She is survived by:&nbsp; her sons, Richard (Ondrea) Marshall, Jr., Joseph (fiancée, Kaley Faubus) Marshall, and Joshua (Bethany) Marshall, all of Hutchinson; fiancé, Francisco Ramos of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lydia Hernandez, Martha Garcia, Margaret Weathers, Maria Garcia, Joe (Rachel) Garcia, Michael (Nancy) Garcia, and Alex Solis.

James Arthur Hay, 84 of Herington, passed away on May 30, 2022, at his home in Herington, KS. He was born on November 10, 1937, to Albert Hay and Flora Downy in Soldier.

James grew up in the Onaga area attending local schools and graduating from Onaga High School with the class of 1955. As a child, James was led to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by one of his schoolteachers during his Junior High School years. Also, as a school kid he was very active in FFA. James enlisted into the United States Army on September 1, 1960, where he spent 7 ½ years as an auto repairman. &nbsp;On, October 21, 1962, James married the love of his life Rita Corcoran in Onaga, KS. This union was blessed with 3 children. James retired from the railroad after 40 plus years and many miles traveling the country. After retiring from the railroad, he went to work for Lyon Township as a clerk, treasure, and patrolman running a road grader.

In his free time James loved mending fences on his property, going to reunions of his military group, and fishing. What he loved the most was going to the mountains in Colorado with his family and taking yearly fishing trips to the mountains. James was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Herington. Family was very important to James.

James is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Rita of the home, son; Rex Hay and wife Karen, daughters; Renae Hay, and Rosalyn Lane and husband Jay, grandchildren; Megan Hay, Shelby Hay, Aaron Lane, Abigail Hay, Cassie Lane, Benjamin Hay, Montgomery Hay, and Caoimhe Hay, and great-grandchild; Zander.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Angella Hay, brother; Stanley Hay, sister; Helen Worthington, and grandson; Proinsias Hay.&nbsp; Yazel-Megli Funeral Home Herington Chapel is serving the family.

Shirley L. Dix, 79, of Topeka, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. She was born June 6, 1942, on her grandparent’s farm near Burdick, to Ernest and Leah (Nely) Cheever.

She graduated from Centre High School with the class of 1962.

On June 6, 1984, she married Gerald R. Dix at the Herington United Methodist Church Parsonage. They made their home in Delavan before moving to Herington in May 2005. Shirley moved to Topeka in May 2014 to be closer to her greatest joy, her grandson Dakota.

Shirley worked many jobs as a waitress for Mom’s Café, at Western Auto and later in the meat department of Stiles Thriftway before becoming a mother and homemaker.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, cooking and baking and was best known by many for her homemade cinnamon rolls. Shirley also loved donating her time to her daughter’s school and her church doing everything from organizing funeral dinners to teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-grandson Lester Denbow, and brothers-in-law Harrison “Wally” McWhorter Sr. and Ether “Lee” Davis Jr.; and sister in law and brother in law Gwendolyn and Darrell “Mack” McClure.

She is survived by her daughter Shandi (Jeremy) Banaka of Hoyt, step-daughter Carol Denbow of Saco, Maine; grandson Dakota Pase of Hoyt, unborn granddaughter Raylee Jaymes Banaka, step-grandchildren Joey Denbow and Lissa Day, both of Maine; 14 step-great grandchildren and 3 step great-great grandchildren; sisters Mary Ann Davis of St. Joseph, Mich., Ilene McWhorter of Bennington, Kan.; brothers Donald Cheever of Salina, Kan., Kenneth (Ida) Cheever of Abilene, Kan.; sister-in-law Marilyn (Paul) Campbell of Herington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roy J. Fortune, 67, of Medicine Lodge, died Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital.

He was born on December 29, 1954 in Fairview, Oklahoma, the son of Roy Lee Fortune and Betty Lou (Fipps) Fortune. On November 21, 1977, he married Jeaneane (Peterson) Fortune in Las Vegas, NV. Roy was an operator for National Gypsum and was the caretaker of the Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Jeaneane Fortune of Medicine Lodge; children: Eric (Sarah), Janelle, and Aaron (Jessica). Grandchildren: Logan, Libby, Luke, Ruby, Carl, Alma, Harper, Graham and Warren; sister, Sherry (Roland) Inslee and brother Tom (Kathy) Fortune. Roy was preceded in death by his parents. He had many hobbies; hunting, fishing, painting woodworking, karaoke and golf. He also drove a covered wagon for the Peace Treaty Pageant for many years and participated in the Night Show for years until his health kept him from it. He also participated in the Demo Derby during the county fair when they had that. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dean Wilke Koppes was born on July 6, 1929, in Newton. He died at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, on May 30, 2022, about a month short of his 93rd&nbsp;birthday. He was the second son of Melinda Wilke Koppes and Daniel Atlee Koppes of North Newton. He attended Cooper Grade School, Bethel Academy at Bethel College, and graduated from Newton High School in 1947. In the early 1950s his voluntary service work was at the State Mental Hospital in Topeka, and a medical hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

After voluntary service he continued working with his parents on their dairy farm on West 24th&nbsp;Street in North Newton, Kansas. During this time, he also worked for several years at the Newton Ice Plant. In 1959 he began working at the Gas Service Company located on West 6th&nbsp;Street in Newton. He retired from the Gas Service Company in August 1991.

It was while at the gas company that fellow workers got him interested in bowling. That sport became his passion, and he won many trophies over the years. He spent 17 years as the City Secretary for the Newton Bowling Association. For a number of years, he also served as a Board Director with the Kansas State Bowling Association.

He met Linda Ikerd when she worked at the Gas Service Company. They were married on October 11, 1969. Twin boys, Roger Alan and Kerry Dean, completed the family on July 30, 1971.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, and numerous grandchildren. Roger and his wife Brandy live in Kenai, Alaska. Kerry and his wife Krista live in Windsor, Colorado. He is also survived by two daughters from a previous marriage. Kayla D. Koppes lives in Florida. Rhonda Ruth Koppes Schafer lives in Lanexa, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clinton Clarence Koppes.

A graveside memorial service will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas, on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 10 a.m. Visitation time with the family will be at the gravesite immediately following the service.

Jackie “Jack” Lee Mitcham, 89, died on May 27, 2022.

He was born January 23, 1933, in Basin, West Virginia, the son of Patrick and Hazel (McKinney) Mitcham, Jack attended Oceana High School, graduating with the class of 1951. Following his graduation he served 4 years in the United States Airforce.&nbsp;

Jack was a retiree from the Santa Fe Railroad after working there for over 40 years.

Jack was united in marriage to Christine Brandal and she preceded him in death.

Jack enjoyed birds, chess, poker, collecting antiques, and music, especially blues. If he wasn’t spending time enjoying one of his many hobbies, he was usually found studying his bible and worshiping God.&nbsp;

He was a talented musician, who played in a band for many years. Jack was unable to read music, but was able to learn music by ear.&nbsp;

Jack is survived by his sons, Daniel and Robert Mitcham; granddaughters, Olivia and Tera Mitcham; and grandsons, Gabriel Stoval and Brian Mitcham.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Mitcham; parents, Patrick and Hazel Mitcham; daughter, Michelle ‘Shelly’ Wilmore; and son, Ricky Mitcham.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday June 6, 2022 at Halstead City Cemetery in Halstead, with Military Honors from McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday June 5, 2022 at Petersen Funeral Home.

Sharon Kay Gilbert-Nelson, 77, passed away on 27th day of May, 2022 in Haysville, Kansas.  She was born in Wichita, to Kenneth Richard Newton and Esther (Graham) Newton. 

She was a life long resident of Wichita, and was a 1962 graduate of Wichita High School East. After Graduation she married George Robert Gilbert Jr on August 16, 1962 until he passed June 2, 2010. They had 3 daughters Shelly Gilbert-Smith, Sandra Schlicher, and Melinda Offield. She lived her remaining years with her best friend and partner Bill Nelson.

Sharon was a member of Tops in Valley Center, Red Hats Society, and Haysville Horticulture Group. She enjoyed gardening, painting, camping, fishing, and being around family and friends.

She is preceeded in death by her parents Kenneth R Newton and Esther M Newton, her brother Jim Newton and spouse George Robert Gilbert Jr.

Sharon Kay Gilbert-Nelson, 77, passed away on 27th day of May, 2022 in Haysville, Kansas. She was born in Wichita, to Kenneth Richard Newton and Esther (Graham) Newton. She was a life long resident of Wichita, and was a 1962 graduate of Wichita High School East. After Graduation she married George Robert Gilbert Jr on August 16, 1962 until he passed June 2, 2010. They had 3 daughters Shelly Gilbert-Smith, Sandra Schlicher, and Melinda Offield. She lived her remaining years with her best friend and partner Bill Nelson.Sharon was a member of Tops in Valley Center, Red Hats Society, and Haysville Horticulture Group. Jack Lee Edwards, 82, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at The Cedars, McPherson.&nbsp; He owned and operated Edwards Backhoe Service and Edwards Oil Properties.

Jack was born on May 9, 1940, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Thomas and Sendy (Cattron) Edwards.&nbsp; On November 8, 1968, he was united in marriage to Elouise P. (Neill) Holtzclaw in Pampa, TX.&nbsp;

He was a United States Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post #24.&nbsp;

Survivors include: his loving wife of over 53 years, Elouise of the home; three daughters, Pamela Wilson (Roy) of Fulton, IL, Angie Bonham (Vernon) of McPherson, and Lynette Reagan of McPherson; a brother, Larry Edwards of Oklahoma City, OK; eight grandchildren, Andrew Bonham, Rachael Anderson, Amanda Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Josh Wilson, Brady Wilson, Emily Speer and Nathan Reagan; 16 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jeffery Holtzclaw, and eight siblings.

Erin E. Evans, age 64, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home in Macksville. He was born on December 3, 1957 in Larned, the son of Richard and Peggy (Brown) Evans. 

Erin was the National Little Britches Champion in the high school rodeo. Making it to the National Little Britches Finals in 1976, he rode in the 79th Annual Cheyenne Frontier Days, participating in Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling &amp; Bull Riding.  He was a member of the Macksville Christian Church, American Cattlemen's Association and the NRA.   On 

April 4, 1979 he married Kathryn Dee (Dietrich) in Las Vegas at The Chapel of The Bells. Erin worked as a farmer for most of his active life with a passion for the family farm, established in 1908.  While in Macksville, he served as a volunteer firefighter for the Macksville Fire Department.  In his spare time, he enjoyed time with family and friends, never missing an opportunity for a good laugh or prank played.  Erin had a deep passion for hunting.  He had a knack for finding the big bucks, remembering the date and place where each one was shot.  He loved sharing in other hunters’ successes as well.  Erin was a very giving person and a kind hearted soul, always willing and ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. 

 Survivors include two sons, Neri Brandon (Mariana) Evans, Macksville; KS., John Kirt (Shelly) Evans, Macksville; daughter, Kandi Erin Evans, Yukon, OK; brother Kirt J (Julie) Evans, Eldorado; nephew, Forrest (Darra) Evans, Eldorado; grandchildren, Brianna Evans, Sierra Soderberg, Skyler Evans, Kyler Evans, Ramsy Evans and great grandchild, Brody Heinlein.

Frances Rose Settle, 86, of Lyons, passed away May 30, 2022, at her home. She was born September 18, 1935, in Walters, Oklahoma, the daughter of W.J. “Bill” and Elsie Fatheree Reece. 

Frances has resided in Lyons since 2008, formerly of Chickaska, Oklahoma. She graduated from Anadarko High School, Anadarko, Oklahoma, with the class of 1954. Frances was co-owner and co-publisher of The Chickasha Star, The Tuttle Times, and The Minco Minstrel from 1975 until 1996. She was also co-publisher of several Kansas newspapers, The Tiller and Toiler, Larned, Ellinwood Leader, Ellinwood, Hoisington Dispatch, and Lyons News. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Chickasha, OK, Oklahoma Press Association, Altruisa Club, Chickasha, OK, Main Street in Chickasha, OK, and Worthwhile Book Club in Lyons. 

On April 9, 1955, Frances was united in marriage with H. Marshall Settle in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Billy, Wayne, and Jimmy Reece; and two sisters, Charlene Manthei and Joyce Reece. Frances is survived by her two sons, John Settle and wife Paula of Oklahoma City, OK, and David Settle and wife Anita of Lyons; brother, Tommy Reece of Abilene, TX; sister, Gwen Moser of Norman, OK; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

 A memorial service will be held at a later date in Chickasha, Oklahoma with burial at the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma.&nbsp;

Ralph Joseph “Dido” Gomez, 86, of Hutchinson, passed away May 27, 2022, at Hospice House of Hutchinson. He was born October 24, 1935, in Newton, the son of Antonio and Irene Pedroza Gomez. 

Ralph has resided in Hutchinson for the past eighteen years, formerly of Lyons. He graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1953, and later graduated from Wichita Business College. He worked for North American Salt as a sewing machine operator from 1961 until his retirement in 2001. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955, until his honorable discharge in 1959. 

Ralph was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons; attended St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson; member of Knights of Columbus Chapter # of Lyons; member of Latineers in Lyons; and was a member of B&amp;W Softball Team in Lyons. He coached softball, baseball, soccer, and basketball. Ralph enjoyed bowling, watching all sports, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. 

On July 11, 1959, Ralph was united in marriage with Mary Edith Sepulveda in El Dorado. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2003. He is also preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Maria Soledad Martinez; and siblings, Nancy, Amelia, Margarito, Lou, Gregory, Julia, John, Tony Jr. and Ramon. Ralph is survived by is five children, Ralph Gomez Jr. of Kansas City, MO; Tony Gomez and wife Quitta of Hutchinson; Manuel Gomez and wife Kathi of Lyons; Montey Gomez and wife Tammy of Lyons; and Irene Faudoa and husband Mauricio of Hutchinson; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father Will Stuever and Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery with military honors by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

Francis Meryl Loder, 92, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was born Tuesday, November 12, 1929, was one of nine siblings, 6 boys and 3 girls, born to William and Edith Loder of Marquette. Francis was the father of two boys, Steven of Tulsa and Garold of Tulsa, deceased in 2004 and their mother Coralie, deceased.

Francis was raised on a farm in central Kansas and enjoyed breaking horses for spending money as well as helping his father with the farming. Francis joined the United States Marine Corps in 1946 and spent three years going to school in communications and being a radio operator in code and voice with the 10th Marines artillery regiment of the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Legeune, North Carolina.

In August of 1950 was called back to active duty to Korea with the 1st Marine Division as a radio operator in a combat unit until October of 1951.

After returning to civilian life and a short stay in farm work and trucking, he left for Chicago to attend a television school. After completing school, he worked as a TV technician for 10 years with Sears and Roebuck. Francis was then promoted to service manager where he spent time in Hutchinson, Kansas, Wichita, Kansas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, retiring in 1987.

His hobbies included horses, motorcycling, hunting, trap and skeet shooting, and flying as a pilot.

In 1986, Francis remarried Thelma Allene (Beaver) who had three adult children, Sharon, Steven (now deceased), and Brandon. 

Francis and Allene joined Calvary Baptist Church in 1986, where he was a member until his death.

Visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm, Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Marquette Lutheran Cemetery, Marquette.

Joan D. Ulmer, 91, died May 28, 2022, at Parkwood Village, Pratt.&nbsp; She was born July 15, 1930, in Partridge, to Frank C. and Edna B. (Waddle) Schardein.

Joan graduated from Partridge High School in 1948, and Emporia State Teachers College in 1950. &nbsp;She was a simple lady who excelled at being a wife, mother, homemaker, and teacher.&nbsp; Joan taught in one-room school houses and for 13 years, ran a nursery school out of her home in Greensburg.&nbsp; Known as the “library lady”, Joan read to hundreds of children over the years during “Story Hour” at both the Greensburg and Arlington libraries. &nbsp;Teaching and helping her students learn to read were a priority.&nbsp; While living in Greensburg, Joan was a member of PEO and Eastern Star.&nbsp; &nbsp;In addition, she was active in the Abbyville Community Theater and Abbyville Community Church.&nbsp; Joan was the “ultimate” church lady and loved teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.&nbsp; In addition, she wrote poetry, and had a number of her poems published.

On May 19, 1952, she married Harvey William Ulmer, Jr., in Huron, SD.&nbsp; He died August 31, 2016, after sharing over 64 years of marriage.

Joan is survived by: sons, Ronnie Ulmer (Joyce) of Newton, and Bradley Ulmer (Shelly) of Littleton, CO; and grandsons, Andrew Ulmer (Elizabeth) of Brooklyn, NY, Ayron Ulmer of Denver, CO, and Alex Ulmer (Kelsey) of Centennial, CO.

She was preceded in death by:&nbsp; her parents, and brother, Charles “Bill” Schardein and Donald “Bud” Schardein.

Leslie Earl Brees, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Park City.

He was born on May 1, 1944 in Alamosa, Colorado to Glen Edward and Minnie Darleen (Huffman) Brees.&nbsp; He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1967.

He worked for KDOT and in 1985 went to work for HNTB Corp. Two of his major accomplishments include his work on the seismic retrofit of the Golden Gate Bridge and in Wichita, the Kellogg Flyover.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Minnie Brees.

Les is survived by his spouse Betty June (Cervanyk) Brees of nearly 55 years; children: Kathy (John) Howard, Jennie (Mike) Ponder, and Darin (Stacie) Brees; grandchildren: Maddie (Wyatt) Ponder Clifton, Rachel Howard, Jamie Howard, Dakota Ponder, Ben Brees, and Duncan Brees; sister: Joyce (John) Brees Conlon and various nieces and nephews.

Leslie Earl Brees, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Park City.He was born on May 1, 1944 in Alamosa, Colorado to Glen Edward and Minnie Darleen (Huffman) Brees.&nbsp; He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1967.He worked for KDOT and in 1985 went to work for HNTB Corp. Michael J Wolke, 72, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Elmer B. and Opal (Martin) Wolke. Marlett, Jr., 73, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.&nbsp; He was a master machinist at Midwest Industries. &nbsp;He also was a master gunsmith, and in his younger years, he worked at his father’s A&amp;W Restaurants in Hays, McPherson, and Russell, Kansas.&nbsp; John served in the United States Army Reserve.

He was born on March 16, 1949, in Larned, the son of John William Marlett, Sr. and Betty Janiel (Brack) Marlett.&nbsp; He graduated from Hays High School and attended Salina Vo-Tech.&nbsp; On June 7, 1968, John was united in marriage to Joyce A. “Jo” Shearhart in Hays.&nbsp;

John was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

Audrey was born on April 10, 1926, in Derby, England, the daughter of Jack and Rosa Astill.&nbsp; On December 11, 1944, Audrey was united in marriage to Clarence M. Ring in Derby, England.&nbsp; He died November 11, 1975.&nbsp; On October 10, 1981, she was united in marriage to George T. Starkey in Andover.&nbsp;

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.&nbsp;

Survivors include: her loving husband of 40 years, George of the home; two daughters, Denise Turner of McPherson, and Diane Chaney of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Turner (Cathy) of Salina,&nbsp; Jennifer Bruce (Corey) of McPherson, Brandi Robinson (Mark) of Wichita, and Lisa Nightingale (Brad) of Galva; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

John&nbsp;Grantlin&nbsp;Jackson, aka Motigular the Ancient One, 73, of Nickerson, died May 26, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 31, 1948, in Wichita, to William and Betty (Flemming) Jackson.&nbsp;

Following high school, John served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam war. He later earned his&nbsp;bachelor’s degree from Friends University. John&nbsp;worked in concrete construction and co-owned Jackson Construction with his brother, Greg. In the 1970s, he and his brother canoed down the Mississippi from the boundary waters in Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.&nbsp;John was an avid reader and was known for his homemade beef jerky.&nbsp;He loved baseball and was a coach to his core. He also loved musical theatre, the harmonica, cruising the country roads in his truck, and adventuring with his kids and grandkids. Above all else, he loved his wife with all his heart and worked tirelessly to create a life of fun and magic for her.&nbsp;

On April 18, 1981, he married Dana Bonham, in Nickerson. They shared 41 years together.&nbsp;

John is survived by: wife, Dana Jackson, Nickerson; son, Jason&nbsp;Rueschhoff&nbsp;(Jennifer), Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter, Amy Ballinger (Rick), Olathe; son, Cody Jackson, Boulder, Colorado; daughter, Kate&nbsp;Singogo&nbsp;(Zika); eight grandchildren; four great-granchildren; sister-in-law, Chris Jackson, Sterling; sisters, Pat Devries (Jason) and Sue&nbsp;Beulke&nbsp;(Dan), Minnesota, Sheri Kim Jackson, Hutchinson; and brother, Tom Taylor, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg Jackson.&nbsp;

John&nbsp;Grantlin&nbsp;Jackson, aka Motigular the Ancient One, 73, of Nickerson, died May 26, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 31, 1948, in Wichita, to William and Betty (Flemming) Jackson.&nbsp;Following high school, John served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam war. He later earned his&nbsp;bachelor’s degree from Friends University. John&nbsp;worked in concrete construction and co-owned Jackson Construction with his brother, Greg. In the 1970s, he and his brother canoed down the Mississippi from the boundary waters in Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.&nbsp;John was an avid reader and was known for his homemade beef jerky.&nbsp;He loved baseball and was a coach to his core. He also loved musical theatre, the harmonica, cruising the country roads in his truck, and adventuring with his kids and grandkids. Above all else, he loved his wife with all his heart and worked tirelessly to create a life of fun and magic for her.&nbsp;On April 18, 1981, he married Dana Bonham, in Nickerson. They shared 41 years together.&nbsp;John is survived by: wife, Dana Jackson, Nickerson; son, Jason&nbsp;Rueschhoff&nbsp;(Jennifer), Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter, Amy Ballinger (Rick), Olathe; son, Cody Jackson, Boulder, Colorado; daughter, Kate&nbsp;Singogo&nbsp;(Zika); eight grandchildren; four great-granchildren; sister-in-law, Chris Jackson, Sterling; sisters, Pat Devries (Jason) and Sue&nbsp;Beulke&nbsp;(Dan), Minnesota, Sheri Kim Jackson, Hutchinson; and brother, Tom Taylor, Oregon.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg Jackson.&nbsp;Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.&nbsp;
