Percy L. Toews, 77, of Inman, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, surrounded by family at the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge. He was a retired farmer and also had worked at McPherson Area Solid Waste Utility and Kit Manufacturing.
Percy was born on April 26, 1945, in McPherson, the son of A.R. “Abe” and Ruby M. (Ensz) Toews. On July 7, 1968, he was united in marriage to Irene Nikkel at the Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Inman.
Survivors include: his wife, Irene; four sons, Jerrold (Julie) Toews of Inman, KS, Les (Dinah) Toews of Windom, Matthew (Ilana) Toews of Hydro, OK, and Carlyle (Joni) Toews of McPherson; three brothers, Harry (Luella) Toews of Barron, WI, Robert (Diane) Toews of Windom, and Randy (Dianne) Toews of McPherson; four sisters, Marilyn (Clayton) Schmidt of Buhl, ID, Alice (Kenneth) Ensz of Sutherland, NE, Ruth (LaVern) Nikkel of Inman, and Deanna (Richard) Ensz of Windom; stepmother-in-law, Delma Nikkel of Moundridge; a brother-in-law, William Wadel of Murray, KY; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; an infant son, Howard Toews; parents-in-law, Abe & Annie Nikkel; and a sister-in-law, Bertha Wadel.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2022, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Inman. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 11, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Burial will follow at Zion Church Cemetery.
